I was bummed out that I had to miss one of her algebra classes - she's not hard, but she is NO push over and you got to do your work

Excellent Professor, she actually cares about the students; both in their ability to comprehend the concepts and her boundless patience. A lot of UMUC Professors could learn a lot from her style. Tremendous amounts of homework are involved, but that's how you grasp the rules of Math.

she is the best teacher by far. she is so involved with the students. she is always writing us comments on how great we are doing and she always leaves cute little pictures to keep us smiley. She is always willing to help and make it easy for us but still help us learn.

INSANELY GOOD instructor. Consider yourself very lucky if you get her. She creates a stress free environment in which to learn, encourages you, and helps you when you need it.

Professor Muff throughly explained to me any problems that I had with my work. Her enthusiasm with helping me worked in my favor as it helped to better understand problems and made me want to work harder in making sure I understood what I was doing.

I had Prof. Muff in an online class. She was very nice to me. I fell behind in my work because of a few business trips. She granted me extra time and so I was able to pass. Her feedback was always helpful. My advice: Take a face-to-face class with her as the instructor. It will save you a lot of frustration when learning this tough subjects.

Professo Muff explained the problems and took time to answer questions. She's very organized and helpful. I was shocked that I had to write a paper in this class.

If you need to take Math or Stat this is the best UMUC has to offer. I had Math, but she helped me out. Take her no matter what you have to loss. She is the best face to face profesor out there.

This professor is awesome! She wants you to pass & works with you so you learn. As long as you do the homework, you will pass. She just wants to see that you are making an effort. I have never been good in math and I passed! If you struggle with math, I highly recommend her. She rocks!

This is the best teacher UMUC has to offer. I only wish she taught more then Math!!! I had her for Math009, 012, and Stat 230 and wouldn't have it any other way. I had major surgery during one of her excellerated courses and missed like 4 classes, she sent my all of my assignments through email so that I was able to pass. Just a blessing...

I walked into class fearful of Math, and now feel that I'm finally able to understand. Professor Muff is WONDERFUL. Great Prof, cant say that enough. She knows her students and knows when they are not getting it and goes over it again. She is killer with homework, but if you keep up with the work load you will be fine and this is coming from a NON math person.

What can I say, Dr. Muff was the absolute best math teacher I have ever had! I could not get through this class without her motivation. Professor Muff was excellent. I believe she is a psychology teacher, but she was teaching introductory Alegbra. I had such a great time in her MATH009 class that I took her again for MATH012. I wish I could have taken her for MATH107, but she doesn't teach it. Luckily, I have Professor S. Sands, and she is also an excellent teacher.

This was a required class for my acct degree. Prof Muff was patient,knowledgeable and helpful. Clear with expectations for an extremely difficult discipline.I almost quit because I wasnt having good luck with teachers at UMUC. She has renewed my faith and I will get my degree with 11 classes still to go! I only wish she could teach the next 11!

The best part was seeing what she was going to wear to class. I loved her style and her ability to wear heels to class even after an 8 hour work day. Too cute! I also liked how she graded; even though it was a remedial class...she was very giving.

I had her for MATH009 and MATH012 back to back in the summer of 2009; I passed MATH107 in the fall of 2009 because of her teaching abilities. Dr. Muff is excellent. She was able to explain a very hard subject to us in an average guy manner. The work load was hard but it also was a 6 week course. She has tons of patience. She is very fair and helps as much as she can. I would recommend her but not a 6 week course for Stat 230.

Anyone that knows Stats know that it is a difficult course that require a lot time. Prof Muff made the class interesting she was very good, she movitated the students and if you fail the class its not because prof Muff didn't do her part it was because you didn't put in the time. This class had nothing to do with my major so I really was not interested in taking it, however, Professor Muff made the learning process easier even with a hard curriculum. If you are not big on statistics but big on learning I would recommend her as a professor because the teaching method and assignments help to piece all the puzzles together.

Captivating /welcoming Instructor. In the days before this class started, Prof Muff was supportive and patient as I experienced purchasing and receiving issues with my books and math lab. Great professor, wish they all were like Professor Muff

Professor is a great instructor and motivator. She's fair and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend students take her course - especially if your degree requirements depend on it. Professor Muff holds the attention of the class while also ensuring there is a transfer of knowledge from her to the student. Great lady!!!

BEWARE OF DUE DATES! This professor could care less if something comes up in your life - she will NOT accept any assignments late. I've NEVER experienced a professor who's flat out unwilling to work with her students on timelines. She's not particularly helpful in other aspects either. Find another professor if possible.

I just finished this class with Professor Muff and she was great. I was a bit turned off by her before the class started based on email correspondence HOWEVER once the class began and I got a better feel for her I could feel how the email should have read. Stick it out she's great, clear, and easy IF you do her work - ON TIME

The is awesome! If you are in Math 009 or 012 she is the one for you! She wants her work on time but will give extras just in case. She is got a cool demeanor so you can relax in her class.

Great Professor. I love her. I received a D out of my own work ethic which shows she is fair and doesn't "hook anyone up." But after being rusty with Algebra, she helped me grasp the concept again. Thanks a lot Prof. Muff

This is for the Hybrid Math009. Professor Muff is an Outstanding Instructor. I enjoyed this class. If it was not for a schedule conflict, I would be in her Hybrid Math012 and if I had to take a Statistic class, I will definitely take her class. So about the ratings, Helpfulness and clarity are the most important and she is the best! I learned Alot

Professor Muff did an excellent job with presenting the materials in a clear and easy to understand manner. She was always quick to respond to E-mails and very easy to talk to during and after class. She was able to identify who needed the additional attention and did a great job give the attention where needed.

Great teacher. Really tries her best to help you succeed. The subject matter is what is difficult. Publisher release two versions of the same book. One version the school uses and the other version is the one we received. Therefore the info in the book did not match what we were learning. I just wish she would follow the syllabus more.

I NEVER rate my professors, but could not go wo rating Prof Muff. She's by far the BEST online. VERY hard classsubject. Study time at least 15hrs per wk if you wanted to pass. Took me almost 30hrs per wk. Prof Muff is truly there for you. She responds to all messages in less than 24 hours. Cares about your success. You MUST take Prof Muff!

She went out of her way and took her personal time to help. She went above and beyond for us, my only problem was some of the announcements were difficult to understand and she sometimes changed things short-notice, but never in a way that added more work. I would love to have her again as a professor.

Professor Muff made learning Statistics "doable". She was honest about the toughness of statistics and the many hours that would be required to be successful. Prof Muff was upfront about her expectations and inspired you to keep at it even when the coursework was rough. She checked-in on me all of the time and reminded me that I could do it!

Tough class... very fair instructor and clear about expectations. Difficulty moving between LEO & MSL. Also, the textbook didn't match very well. Overall I enjoyed the class. It was mentally challenging and the instructor worked with the class to make sure we all progressed according to the schedule.

She is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. She is smart, sexy, and funny. And above all is has never married and still is single! ;)

The professor was very helpful and showed genuine interest in the student success. She provided ample opportunity to improve grades. Just needs to provide more feedback on assignments to provide a greater understanding of the material. Overall great course and great professor.

Professor Muff is a good professor. She is always there to help and explains everything well. All work is graded so be prepared for a lot of assignments. However she allows you to re-do quizzes and homework (2nd chance only) if you get the problems wrong so that definitely helped me do well in the class.

Very, very helpful - she'll find a way to communicate if the original example doesn't work. She doesn't get frustrated, or give up on anyone. Extremely good with students dealing with math anxiety. Proved to be a valuable resource in a more sophisticated class where that instructor would not communicate.

The professor simplified the work so that anyone could understand. Responsive in the classroom and via email. I would recommend her classes to anyone.

She is a good teacher. She will keep teaching until you under the concept. Now her grading is tuff! She allows you to correct the homework and quizzes for partial correct, but the way she grades it still doesn't help your grade. Very detailed and wanting to listen to the students ideas.

She is a good professor. She is fair when it comes to the grading. She will let you make up your grades for homework and quizzes. Class is great, never keeps you too late and goes over everything until you understand. I would greatly take her again for STAT!

This prof is a fair grader, fair on the work load, and available all of the time IF you use the correct email address and pay attention. People who don't listen won't do well.

Outstanding teacher, I learned about math and how to master it. Professor Muff seemed to really care about setting students up for success and getting them properly prepared for future math classes. She was encouraging and made the course material seem much less intimidating than what I initially thought it would be. I enjoyed being in her class.

Dr. Alyson is a great Math teacher, especially if you have a fear of dealing with Math! She does her best to work with you to understand the lessons. She also makes herself available to a reasonable degree. I highly recommend Dr. Alyson for working to understand math!

I rated it difficult not because of the professor or The coursework per se. But more because of my sheer lack of ability to do math and my low frustration tolerance. The prof was professional and always offered to help. I would take another class offered by the professor!

Alyson Muff is a phenomenal teacher and changed my perception about Math. Alyson is very approachable and available especially if there are questions or concerns. Alyson gives every opportunity to correct any errors and submit for a higher grade, she is fun, friendly and I enjoyed her class and interacting with her often.

I really liked her class. She spent time to make sure you actually leave with skills to use stats in your real life as well as in your job. She doesn't hand out As but if you put the work in you will pass with a GREAT grade.

Fair amount of homework. Tests and projects are going to make or break your grade. Overall, great professor and her class is great. Fair grader.
