She's inbetween when it comes to teaching. Shes funny and strict when necessary. Teaches pretty much out of the book. Take advantage of her office hours. If you know your basic algebra then this class should be a breeze.
Just a really nervous teacher. Practically reads from the book. NO ability to go deep into the subject, since she barely knows it herself. I got a B but learned NOTHING. NOT a very friendly person; superior attitude. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU NEED CALCULUS FOR YOUR MAJOR!
Assigns lots of HW,as she believes math practice is essential.The class isnt an easy A nor B,but to be fair Calc isnt easy.Shes great tho as she is helpful and more than willing to put forth time&effort to help u.Shes also very young.On the first day of class I thought she was a student.Almost asked her out until I realized she was the professor!
The very first thing I like about her is she never pretends as she is excellent in Maths but she is always well prepared for the lectures. She helps you alot if you don't understand problems. She is quite genrous in grading too.
she is really nice, but sometimes she gets confused, and things can get kinda' confusing... she contradicts herself a lot. sometimes it seems like she's more of a tutor than a teacher...

Really hard to understand, not very helpful, extremely inexperienced, INFINITE homework, i swear you will not have life left after doing the amount of homework she assigns. She does the problems pretty much in her head and skips essential steps when doing examples, sometimes even skips the step that shows how to use what you're learning. Quizaholic
Be prepared to do massive amounts of homework. The homework can be overwhelming and makes you loose interest in the class. Be on time, 5 minutes late and that's an absent. Don't take her if Math is not a strong skill for you.
This class is interesting and engaging. Do not take this class unless you are eager to learn calculus. It will not be spoon-fed to you, so you have to seize it yourself.
She's super easy, but useless. I got an A, but I didn't learn a darn thing. She told students she had learned to how to use a graphic calculator in the past, but she keeps on forgetting, so everything in class is paper and pencil. I'm surprised she's a teacher. She seems not to know much. Take math with someone else if you want to learn.
Added the class on the first day, but ended up dropping it a month later because she's such a horrible instrutor.

Different. She is hard on trig tests in the way that you are not allowed any notes or, for the most part, calculator. She wants you to memorize what you need, even if you are just taking the class b/c you have too. Nice person, but teaching methods need work. Inconvienient office hrs if b/t campuses
She's a young teacher so she doesn't have her teaching technique down = unclear at times and 20 minute lectures because the class spent 30 mins on hw help (rushed lectures). But she is a nice and sweet teacher, just isn't a very good teacher...yet
She?s a good teacher. Explains things in more than one way. Gives examples so you?ll understand. Friendly, knows everyone?s name, takes a real interest in how students are doing. No easy A here! There?s a lot to learn, tests cover lots of material. Very helpful in office hours. If you do the homework & study hard, you?ll learn a lot & get an A.
She seemed like a good professor at first but half the time she couldn't get the right answer and relied on other students. During lecture she would make so many errors. Getting extra help from her is useless b/c of this. If she didn't have a book I don't know how she'd teach the class. By the end there were only 8 students left. Don't take her.
She's been teaching at CSM for years now, but she's still very much a rookie at best. Can't help but wonder why she chooses to be a college professor. It's time for her to do something else now.
Is a good teacher as long as you keep up with the hw you really can not fail. Theres a lot of harsh comments but what do you expect to happen in a math class...a teacher cant hold your hand while you take your test so do your hw and study and its an easy A
She is a really great teacher, she really cares about making sure her students learn and understand the material.Of course you have to study and put in the work to make sure you learn.Dont slack off and thinnk youll get a good grade, doesnt work like that.
shes not clear on stuff at all.i worked very hard in this class,i spent more time studying in the math lab for this class than any other.I understood the concepts of what chapters taught, but the tests she gives are graded ridicolously and not fair.be prepared for that.She makes too many mistakes when lecturing,imagine how many when grading tests..

She easily passes for another student. Articulates during lectures, perfect for audio learners. Plenty of group work; prompt in returning tests. Enjoys talking about her personal life, which is great in overcoming the teacher/student relationship. In addition, her test questions would reveal more about her personal life.Interesting teacher overall!
Prof. Wong is a very good instructor. I thought she was a student at first because she is so young and youthful looking!
She is a teacher that makes her students think a lot. Does a lot of group work. She makes a lot of mistakes when it comes to giving quizzes and tests, and she is always late to class.
Just a warning- Expect homework and quizzes/ tests EVERY WEEK! There is also a lot of classwork. But it's all for your own good! She has a cute personality, is approachable and easy to relate to. I would recommend this class. Very nice/ cute teacher! Responds to emails quickly as well. No complaints here :)
Really great teacher but when it comes to grading test each problem worth a lot of points can bring down a letter grade.
She's one of the few teachers that I feel really wants and loves to teach. She is very thorough. Her teaching style us very effective. She loves to use the phrase, "consider this".
Ms. Wong is a great teacher and extremely helpful! Quizzes every week and daily homework, but she covers the material thoroughly.
Professor Wong is an ok teach class isn't hard if your good at math whenever you ask a question she tells you to work with a partner instead of helping

Occasionally late. Covers material thoroughly. While she avoids helping students in class she is always willing to stay after to answer questions. Daily homework and weekly quizzes.
Very nice, and helpful, lectures are clear enough, and you do learn a lot. Quizzes every week, and a ton of HW though. Tests are pretty difficult, and she doesn't curve or give extra credit. Replaces your lowest test with your final grade though, so that helps. Overall a good professor, would recommend, though don't expect an easy A.
Homework every day, quiztest every week. Always late to class. Nice, but does not help much. When I ask questions, she tells me to ask a classmate. Tests were long and tough. She's a solid teacher. Although I am not interested in the subject, she tries to answer the class's questions and provides good review before tests. She does pile on a lot of homework questions sometimes, which you can see as helpful or irritating depending on how proficient you are at math.
Ridiculous amount of homework. Will do one example in class and assign 20 problems on it. Typical textbook lecturer, goes chapter by chapter, her only teaching style is to do an example. Teaches students little to no guiding questions and shows only one method of solvingsimplifying. Talks down her colleagues indirectly while lecturing.
Moves WAY too fast for anyone in class to follow. Assigns a lot of homework. If you ask a question during class she tells you to "ask your classmates". Expects you to know everything in algebra, if you've forget some highschool math she embarasses you infront of the class. No extra credit, no exam makeups (if you're absent), final is cummulative.
Teaches very methodically. If you have study habits it will not be easy to get an A. Otherwise expect a C. 2-3 homework assignments out of the textbook every week, 10-15 problems each. If you pay attention in class, follow along with her examples, read sections ahead of time, and spend 8-10 hours a week total outside of class, expect an A.
Calc 2 is nothing like Calc 1! I wish she would have presented the material better and in more depth. You have no chance of doing extra credit assignments so you have to stay on top of things and get good grades!
Probably the most helpful person in the math lab when she's there.
Amazing teacher, I do not understand why people think she is bad. She does well with students and even though she is a young teacher she knows how to teach. Great Class.
Very great class to take. I expected 252 to be hard but instead it was so easy. So glad i had this teacher! Her work load is fairly simple, just remember not to skip any.
Many thanks to this teacher for teaching my MATH252. She is really good with students and will help anyone in need. She WANTS her students to pass! Test are very easy and course work is at a nice speed. WOULD RECOMMEND!!!
She is tough and terrible professor. She gives a lot of homework but no grades for HW. Every lecture you will have quiz from homework's questions. She doesn't help students. Some times she jokes with students but still you will not feel comfortable in her class. There are some students drop her class. I will never take her class again.
Quiz every week. Homework every class meeting - takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours to complete. Grading is: 15% Homework - 5% Participation/Attendance - 50% Tests - 30% Final (Cumulative) Tests are difficult and require extra preparation. She replaces lowest test score with final score. Easy to pass hard to get good grade.
If you are planing to take any math classes, I highly don't recommend you to take her class. She is really depending on students and lazy to show the math problems step by step. Tests are really hard and heavy to get the score you want to get. No extra credits, a lot of homework. If you want to get an F, take her class!
Overall, I don't like her. Don't take her classes. If you take, you will regret.
Awesome professor and very respectful. you enjoy learning calc one because she explains it easy and right to the point. She acts professionally in teaching. Her class is not boring because she tells you her stories which is fun. you need to do the homework if you're coming from weak mathematics background otherwise you don't need to do homework.
One of the most supportive, caring professors I've ever had. This class isn't easy and you will not pass if you don't understand the concepts. Wong wont give you an easy A but instead will teach you how to work for it. Tests are short and cover expected material. Do your homework and don't be rude (she really hates that) and you'll do fine.
Professor Wong's great. Her lectures contain clear explanation and examples. Raise your hand and ask if you don't understand anything. There's homework every class, but she doesn't check; she asks if there're questions you don't understand, and explains in the next class. Complete them regularly and you are ready for the tests. Show work in tests.
Ms. Wong is a great professor. She has a very clear and organized outline of the class. It does help to have a strong foundation in math in her class, she does expect you to know basics prior to her class. Like most classes, you get out what you put into a class.
Be prepared to self-learn, lectures are quick and somewhat disorganized. Would constantly ask students for help and talks nonstop about her own personal life and talks flack about students in her other classes. Tests/Quizzes are based off what we learned but are much, much harder. Hard to earn a good grade. 35 people at the start, 14 left.
Love her as a person, but she is a horrible professor. I was always afraid to ask questions in class because she makes you feel like an idiot. Doesn't prepare you for the exams AT ALL, review days are "student-based" basically she only answers questions you ask. No practice exam, no cheat sheet allowed.. over bad experience with her.
I LOVE WONG! THIS CLASS IS NOT EASY but put aside the time, listen in class and you'll pass. Her humor is not for everyone but don't take it personal. She is knowledgable, provides clear lectures, and knows the material very well. Participate, it will make her like you, and you will retain the material better. No HW, but she does assign problems.
Shes not a good lecturer. She moves really fast, expects you to know everything and will move on even if only 2-3 people understand the topic. She gives lots of homework but tests are way harder than any in class work or homework. Not a fan of her. Drop rate SUPER high.
awful teacher. she doesn't care to her students. she is so old school. we never use any kind of new technology for our activities. only use a laptop to see the textbook online. she also doesn't use canvas to tell the homework and activity. you will not see your grade. because she doesn't have a canvas.
She is a good person at the end of the day just not a quality teacher. Her lectures are often around two hours with a 10 minute break in between. There is not much interaction between her and the students except for just a few. She goes through the lectures extremely quick and could care less about your own grade.
She is a good person but if you are going to transfer she is definately so bad a choice. She was late for almost every class, and speaks very very fast. Her lecture is hard to understand. She gives very hard exam. If you're already a good culculus learner you can choose her otherwise don't.
I would recommend for students who has prior knowledge to Cal already. Quizzes and tests alternating each week. Be prepare to do a lot of outside help or studying. She won't drop you in her class, but will give hints she wants you to drop out. She doesn't help you instead tells u to get someone else's help. Teaches really quick, & likes group work.
while ms wong is relatively nice while grading, her tests are just way too difficult. the class is all lecture so if you miss one day you'll be pretty far behind. i always found it funny that whenever anyone asked a question during the class work, she would have another student come to explain it instead of herself.
Ms. Wong is a great professor! She teaches very well and explains problems very clearly. Her exams are difficult, but reasonable, so if you do the homework and review your notes you should be fine. She replaces your lowest exam score with your score on the final if it's better, and though she is a bit picky when grading, her expectations are clear.
Your not going to learn anything in this class from the her, if you aren't good at math or need extra help I would recommend another professor.
Prof. Wong is awesome-- willing to bet that all the people that gave her bad scores was because they wanted an easy class. Trig wasn't easy, but she was really cool and great about teaching it. Lots of lectures, so she's best if that's how you learn. Makes it clear what she wants, and as long as you follow that and do the homework, you'll do fine.

I was only able to get an A in this course after going to ANOTHER PROFESSOR'S OFFICE HOURS because she will drop hints that she does not want to help. If you know math already then you can be like this below poster who can't tell what a good prof is!
She mainly just talks about her life half of the class and it's super hard to understand her lectures because she only gives a few examples most of the time. If you pay attention in class and devote a lot of time to this class you should be fine.
She's the worst teacher I've had so far. She's not really prepared for class. She would give a test and its not clear on how much each question is worth. Gives a lot of homework. She's just a very traditional professor, I personally can not learn in that kind of class. I have to say she's a nice person.

The class was hard, but she was good at answering questions and letting the class know what was going to be on tests.
All she does during class time is talk about random things, or her life, for 75% of the class, while going over concepts and homework for about 25% of the class. This made it very hard to pass because we never really spent class time even talking about math. Does not even explain concepts clearly, and goes too fast. Only 4 tests, Do not take her!!
If you are planning to take math 251, pls avoid her as she doesn't care students. if you have any questions, she always let other students to teach you. always talking about her family. such an worse teacher.

No extra credit. Takes a month to grade tests and doesn't put grades in canvas. Have fun calculating your own grade. No study guides.

Her lecture are super heavy, and never answer your questions. She doesn't care her students and also talk about her life during class section(I don't think every students care about her personal life since we come here to learn math)! don't recommended and regret to take her class!

Spare yourself headache as Wong is the worst professor I have ever had. Lectures were unclear and the professor was not willing to help outside of class. In addition, tests were significantly harder than homework assignments and quizzes, making it difficult to do well. Professor lacked empathy for students and passion on the subject. HARD PASS.

Don't take this class if you have some sort of choice in the matter. Her tests are extremely hard and graded really harshly; doesn't give enough time to take the tests (which count for the majority of your grade). Her lectures make no sense, so you'll probably have to learn all the material by yourself. If you have to take the class, get a tutor.
She grades almost completely on 4 tests and a final. On tests, she'll take off points for dumb formatting reasons, even though the answer is right. Takes a month to grade and I never even got to know what my grade on the final was because grades were due and she closed gradescope. You also have to calculate your own grade- doesnt use canvas

She is difficult and tends to assign a lot of homework, but that is what college is supposed to be. You have to do the homework and study for her tests to keep up. She reviews homework daily so everyone understands, and if you pay attention, the class shouldn't be too hard. I 100% recommend her class if you are looking for a rigorous math course.
Ms. Wong is a very nice teacher. She explains things well and genuinely tries to spread her knowledge of math. As she is very easy to talk with, I enjoy participating in her classes. Given the opportunity I would gladly take her class again. I recommend this class for anyone who appreciates or enjoys math.
If you participate in class and always do your homework, it's actually way better than a lot of people make it out to be. Ms. Wong is super nice and if you pay attention, it's an easy A or B+. Just be super cautious on everything on tests because she is a pretty picky grader, but overall, it was a great class and I looked forward to it daily.
She assigns so much homework, which does help you understand the material, but it's a lot of work. She gives very little time on quizzes/tests, and she's pretty picky when it comes to the answers that youre supposed to give. I almost failed bc I wasnt paying attention, but I managed to do really well on the final(which counts for 40% of your grade.
If you have a choice, trust me don't take her class. She gives a lot of homework and she does not give enough time to do it. Her teaching style is terrible and quizzes are hard. She is also the worst professor I have ever had.
I didn't believe the ratings in "rate my professor" were true (now I do). Professor Wong looks for every little detail. Tests account for 60% of your grade, which can make it go down really quick. I truly love math but didn't like this class/professor. She does not give extra credit or corrections; most people dropped out.
She grades off of 4 tests and a final which makes keeping your grade up hard. She also gives a lot of homework and when we ask her to go over multiple questions she will only go over one. Started the class with 20+ people and ended with 7 people. She also still hasn't posted our grade on websmart so I don't even know if I passed or not. Don't take!

Otherwise,I will drop her class.If u have choice,don't take her class.
Look, it's calc. It's hard. Professor Wong is very clear about her expectations and she is both kind, but very blunt. You will not be hand held. Also, Professor Wong can sometimes be a bit apathetic to students struggles. Still, I think, if you work well under pressure, this is a good class to take. Expect difficulty and not to get an A.
She gave a lot of homework, do not take class with her
She is a tough grader and speeds through the course. I took the course again with a different professor and passed with an A. The only way to pass this class is if you are basically already AMAZING at math.
Degrading and makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Wouldn't recommended but survivable if you have taken some form of calc before. Ended with less than half the amount of starting students.
She's not even bad just pay attention in class. She is funny sometimes and will be sarcastic sometimes as well. I would take her class again. Lots of sample problems during lecture and she goes over the homework problems to see if you understand. If you put in the effort you will learn and pass.

Save yourself from the headache unless you are AMAZING at math. She had a full class at the beginning of the semester, and now we are down to 7-10 students. You grade your own grade. Your grade is based on the 4 tests and the final. Don't grade hw, don't have test corrections, or extra credit. If you can, take the class with a different professor.
