Haage was a good teacher, but her class was all based on the tests. She goes over lectures well, she knows what she's saying, but you better be ready to study your butt off for this class. There were a couple extra credit things to do, worth 4 points each. Everything is based off lecture so I never used the textbooks, only the powerpoints given.

The only thing you will be graded on in this course is the 5 exams and your attendance everyday. This means, don't take her course at 8am if you are not an early bird. You need to do good on EVERY exam in order to get a decent grade. Dr. Haage expects too much from students and only gave 8 points of E.C which is NOTHING. STUDY HARD

Dr. Haage received a lot of backlash last year for her teaching style, but she really modified her class to make it more manageable for her students this year. You come to class to do group work, but take individual daily quizzes and tests. She gives the essay questions before which is huge and many test questions are from quizzes and homework.

The bad reviews were probably from lazy students. Learning muscles and bones requires effort just like the other units in this class. If you are a bad test taker don't worry because most of your grade is from group work. Switch groups right away if you are not happy. Take notes on the lectures and study for the exams and you will be fine.

Haage has modified her classes this semester, and it's gone better for me this semester than last semester. Lectures and assignments are outside of class and then you come in and do group assignments, which I like because my team members can help me understand what I didn't quite grasp on my own. Notes are very hard to take without a tablet.

The modifications made were the best thing to happen to A&P (individual multiple choice exams, wiggle room policy, project resubmission, etc). There is a lot of homework but that should be expected with this class. Do not be afraid to switch groups, your team is extremely important to your grade. Make sure to get all of your project points!!

The changes that were made to A&P this semester definitely made the class better. It was a great mix of team and individual work. Dr. Haage is super nice and understanding. Anyone who has an issue with this course is honestly just lazy and does not want to put in the work. Anything above average on HAPS is extra credit too!

If you want to learn about this class only read the reviews from 2023. It is a completely different course now. She is very clear with how to get the points for an A. Put effort into the group work and take time to learn the content as you go. You watch recorded lectures before class which allows you to work through them at your own pace.

This is the hardest class I have taken, and I am a pre-med major, and it is due to the professor's teaching style. There are hours of lectures that you have to pay attention to and take notes on to do well on exams, and the assignments that she makes are ridiculous and graded harshly. TopHat is easy enough to use but the amount of work is enormous.

Very harsh grader and has little to no sympathy for small errors or mistakes that result in loss of points. Lectures and long and contain tone of information and you are expected to remember specific details and info. Essay questions are graded with little room for error, and will essentially find anything wrong with your answer to take off points.

She teaches at a very high difficulty level. Don't read the comments she makes on test essays! They're very frustratingly critical and offer zero valuable feedback for the student. I wish I could post a picture of some that I've gotten. That being said, there is an outrageous amount of homework and lectures to help remember the information.

The new format for A&P makes it super easy to succeed. Dr. Haage knows her stuff and is always willing to help. Second semester is more challenging but still fairly easy with her class format.

Haage is by far the hardest grading and worst professor I have ever had. Her feedback is so frustrating and as for the essays on every exam, she expects you to write like a PhD student because it is SO hard to even get a 3/5 on them. It is manageable to get a B if you do the work, but to get an A would be even more tough. Good luck with her!

B is doable but getting an A in the course will be challenging for most students. Feedback is very passive-aggressive and she can have an attitude with students. Workload is challenging. Lots of reading out of class. Take good notes. Make sure you get a good group when you do in-class activities. Some questions on tests are also on quizzes.

Extremely harsh grader. Essay question feedback is not helpful and often times very passive-aggressive. She is accessible outside of class, but responds with attitude, and again very passive-aggressive. A B is very doable, but an A can be challenging based on the grading. I preferred the online course option as opposed to in person.

I took this class online. Not only did I have to involve the department and cc them on every email, she was condescendin/rude when there was clear evidence via her emails threatening not to grade my exams b/c the YuJa software did not work. The department just ignores you and says glad you figured it out (on your own). Awfully rude shouldn't teach.

If you want to be stressed 100% of the time then Dr. Haage is the professor for you. I spent more time on this class than any class ever before. The lectures do not help with the coursework. I have had to teach myself 90% of the content. This is not an anatomy class, it is more of a cellular biology class. Good Luck because she is the only option.

Avoid at all costs. Online class was just awful. Extreme amounts of confusing work. No book, just online "gamified" text to scroll through, answering ?'s as you go. You won't get them all correct, not all the info is given before some answers are required. Prepare for tons of shockingly irrelevant extra credit to get a C. Other ratings are accurate

Haage gets a lot of flack for how she teaches the course and it definitely takes some getting used to but after a week or two, the class becomes routine. Her lectures are very clear but they are all out of class with team assignments in class. While it is a lot of work, and A is not impossible. Lots of homework but it works and you definitely learn

Amanda Haage is the worst professor I've had. Her teaching style works, you definitely learn the information but she is a condescending, rude, and difficult person to work with. She gets a lot of negative comments on here and I think thats unfair. People don't like her because she is straight forward and people cannot handle that. Her class requires work, yes, but if you take the time to do it and learn, it is very easy to achieve an A. She is a very nice professor and my favorite one at UND by far.

Dr. Haage was very unhelpful when it came to anything in class. You do learn the class material fairly well from her class layout, and to get a good grade itself is also very easy. But if I had a different option I would never take her again, she just wasn't a caring professor at all.

SO unprofessional in the manner she grades your essays. Feedback does not make you feel encouraged to seek the correct answers, but rather discourages you from being able to approach professor about questions or improvement. Some teach to teach, Haage teaches to make herself feel superior/smart. Your goal isn't to scare students away from help.

Everyone flames Haage, but she is a great professor. The content is hard, and you have to try, but she is straight forward with requirements. There are 7 exams, no final, lectures before class, and team assignments and quizzes. She doesn't give great feedback on exam essays, but that isn't the end of the world. She cares about you doing well!

Honestly if you do the work she tells you to do, you'll succeed. Flipped classroom--lecture videos outside of class and "homework" assignments for class time. Just do everything she puts out (watching lectures, review, time to spend on certain topics) and you'll do well. Very caring person, just ask for help if you need.
