Professor Kraha exhibited her passion through her commitment to students learning the material. She is a real person who appears to enjoy a great debate over a topic. She is a students professor as she never places herself on a pedestal to where she doesn't have time to talk with students.
Dr. Kraha is a great professor. She drew the class in with personal stories and encouraged us to apply the topics to our lives. She was relatable and easy to follow. We always knew what to expect and she was very flexible. I would definitely recommend her classes to my friends.
Dr. Kraha is a great professor. She made her topics interesting by applying them to her life and encouraging us to as well. She's a fair grader and talked to us like peers besides simple students. I'd highly recommend her to my friends.
She's awesome
I emailed Dr. Kraha around 11:30 one night, and I got a response right back. I was impressed, because in my experience, that could definitely wait until morning. If you complete all of the assignments on time and thoughtfully, it is super simple to pass. She and her team provide feedback on what you may need to work on or what needs to change.
Teacher is very knowledgeable and helpful. If you have a problem she is willing to work with you and help you out. She also makes great video instructions.
Dr. Kraha relates course material to real-life experiences making it easier to learn material, understand and remember key concepts when you exit the semester. Class atmosphere is great. Discussions were interesting. Def. recommend this professor.
She's invested in her students, wants you to pass as much as you want to pass. Not too strict on due dates. Really awesome person. Funny. Nice. Chill and relaxed. Smart. Loves questions and class interaction. Had her for Psych of Learning, but now have for Stats. She teaches the best stats class.
Dr. Kraha is great. I would recommend her to anyone. She is very focused on helping her students succeed and available whenever I needed her. I am already enrolled to take more classes with her next semester!
Dr. Kraha is awesome. She made a hard course easier to understand and if we still didn't get it, we could come to her and asks questions for clarification. There is a lot of homework but that should be expected in this upper level course. She is flexible on due dates.
Dr. Kraha was a very good teacher and worked well with what she had to work with (online class). The videos she posted on how she wanted some assignments were very helpful, When videos weren't posted, some of the instructions weren't completely clear. Overall, it was a very helpful course and she did very well teaching it.
Dr. Kraha was very helpful in this course. The most helpful part of this class were the videos posted on how to do some of the assignments. The only problems with this professor was that on some assignments the instructions were not completely clear. Overall, this class was very helpful.
Liked the course, could have used a little more clarity with assignments
I really enjoyed that my professor made videos to help with every chapter throughout the weeks. Online classes can become difficult if you are forced to learn things on your own. This professor taught enough basic information that I could do well in the course, and I appreciate the help and support.
Dr. Kraha is engaging, always available and involved with her students. It's easy to understand her expectations, but she's by no means a push-over- there's a lot of work and a high expectation to succeed... but if it's not challenging, what's the point? She's very passionate about helping her students comprehend the material and do a good job.
Such an awesome Professor. Dr. Kraha excepts a lot of her students and pushes you to apply what you are learning. She is very helpful. Easy to communicate with. She post videos every week of the lecture. For an online class, that is very helpful. She gives great feedback on all your assignments and projects. I would recommend taking her classes.
Dr. Kraha is a good instructor! The course was not easy but she grades fairly.
Very clear about what she expects. Tough class, but she helped along the way.
Great teacher. Gives a lot of good feedback.
She is an okay professor. Instructions weren't always clear and didn't always give good feedback, but sometimes it was. The huge paper is what got me.
Dr. Kraha connects things from popular media and other examples to the concepts to help you understand them better. She is more relaxed, but do not take advantage of her! So long as you/your class is not taking advantage of her kindness, she will be your best friend.
Dr. Kraha is a great professor. She wants you to succeed and is always willing to help. She will also give you the opportunity to revise some of your graded homework, in order to earn back missed points. Statistics is a fairly difficult class, but Dr. Kraha will work with you to make sure that you do well.
Great Professor! Makes challenging material interesting and relevant. You can't slack off, you must do the work, but you do get the opportunity to re-submit work for more credit and extra credit options are available.
She is always willing to help! Always explains things so throughly. I took this class online and there were always lectures to help with everything we needed. They weren't long so it wasn't boring. They truly help.
This professor is fantastic! She understands we are humans and have other things going on. She is very helpful and interacts with her students in a unique way. I would take her over and over again. However, do not mistake her niceness for weakness. If you take advantage of her then you will have a whole different experience than I did.
I highly recommend enrolling in one of Dr. Kraha's classes. Her lectures are comprehensive and promote greater understandability of difficult material. This is not an easy class, but Dr. Kraha does an impressive job of making it enjoyable. It is clear that she cares about the success of her students. She is among the best of educators.
She is a great professor that is willing to go out of her way to help her students any way she can.
Dr. Kraha is awesome! She cares about her students and wants them to pass. She will help you with anything you need. She made the class easy to understand and kept a relaxed environment. She gave us as many opportunities as possible to get an A. I'd take her for all of my psychology classes if I could. Wonderful instructor.
Dr. Kraha is a great! I was terrified of statistics and have done great in this class thanks to her and hard work. This class isn't a cake walk, so don't kid yourself, but it's manageable with a great teacher.
Second class with Dr. Kraha, I've had her in an online format and in person. She excels at opportunity and helpfulness in both formats. Made both classes much easier to understand. One of the best teachers I've had in my undergraduate study.
Great teacher! very helpful and always available!
This is a tough class, with an awesome teacher that wants you to be successful. Dr. K is the best! Don't take this class with anyone else, you will regret it.
I can't express with enough emphasis just how awesome Dr. Kraha is. I had dropped Statistics two different times over the years; I just didn't get it. Before taking her class (Statistical Techniques), I was averaging a C- to a D+ in Stats. After taking her class, I not only received an A, but am graduating with honors. She is PHENOMENAL A+++
This class was really tough material for an online class. I would be benefited being face to face for this material.
Dr. Kraha was the best professor I've encountered at IU. She is super helpful and always answers questions in a way that can be understood.
The Final was extremely hard.
Not flexible refuses to work with students
My life was a living NIGHTMARE with Amanda Kraha. Had her 3 times, thought she was GREAT- until the 3rd class. I was met with flat-out refusals to speak to me about grades. I worked hundreds of hours harder than anyone, and it showed: 174 resources out of 25, people!! Regardless, Fs everywhere for a nearly straight A student!! A NIGHTMAREEEEEEEEEEE
Dr. Kraha is a caring teacher. She expects you to do your work, but if you do the work, you will be fine. The lectures pertain to the exams.
Great teacher, she gives you every chance possible to succeed. However, you have to work for it. She is available to answer any questions you might have. She answers questions in a way that I can understand. If I could, I would take all my classes from her.
Excellent professor!! Loved her classes!!! Recommend her highly!!! She was so helpful, always answered all of my questions.
It was a super challenging stats class online but Kraha made it bearable! She was always willing to help and gave more than enough resources to succeed in the class
Didn't have any experience in a Stats class prior to hers, but her lectures made it easier for me to understand. She explained things very well. Overall, not a bad course.
Very helpful and understanding, willing to work around what would be most beneficial to the students.
It was difficult but anytime I was stuck I had plenty of resources and professor was available to help.
The material is difficult, there is no getting around it. I think Dr. Kraha does the best that anyone could do to help students learn the material. Homework assignments take a lot of time. I would NEVER take this class again, but would take a class w/ this professor again. She really wants you to succeed.
Dr. Kraha is a really great teacher. If you put in the work and follow assignment directions/ask questions when you have them, you will succeed. Group projects were really difficult and unorganized, but I don't blame her for students' lack of participation. It's a lot of work, but overall the class was informative and enjoyable.
Difficult material made easier by an instructor who cares about the subject and about learning. Glad I took the class, and definitely glad I had this instructor.
This professor knows the coursework well. She's willing to help you learn and will answer any questions you may have. She makes expectations very clear. All of that said, I would never, ever take this course again because it's incredibly difficult.
The professor is great at what she does. She is very knowledgeable. However, you have to be on your A game at all times with her. She is a tough grader and expects a lot out of her students. Sometimes a bit too much. The class is super tough and time consuming.
I took P493 (Supervised Research) with Dr. Kraha and would recommend this course to any student wanting to get individualized experience and seeking a challenge. She is an excellent mentor and gives great feedback, and is available for guidance throughout the duration of the course. An excellent teacher, who wants students to excel!
Guides students through the paper writing process. Got an A. Just watch the lectures and follow along. Excellent communication. Great class. A complete 180 from my previous experience in Research Methods at another university.
Very good professor. She has a clear grading criteria and provides plenty of feedback and guidance. The class is nicely structured and it is apparent that she realizes that there is no reason to spend inordinate amounts of time on something just to learn it. Definitely recommend her.
The instructor helped me throughout the semester and I appreciated her help very much.
She wants you to be successful. She is willing to work with you if you show real initiative.
awesome professor. very good understanding of psychology
Assignments were straight forward and instructor was forgiving when mistakes were made as long as effort was put in.
You will learn so much from her. She expects you to work hard.
Provides a decent amount of assignments, all in which she prepares you for through assigned course readings. She even provides additional links and videos to things that can help better your understanding. She's very active in the course and gets things graded fairly quickly. I definitely recommend having her as a professor.
I had her for stats and I cried everyday,(thank goodness for YouTube). I was so happy I would never have her again, until my senior seminar. I have always excelled at writing papers and researching, but I CANNOT get a decent grade in here. Shes incredibly intelligent and nice, but her expectations are for those that are in grad school already.
While this class is difficult, but the end result is so rewarding! Dr. Kraha gives very detailed feedback to help you improve as a writer. Writing a thesis is something I never that I could do, but Dr. Kraha guides you through the entire process.
While I received a good grade in this class, I would recommend to avoid this professor at all costs, grading was extremely harsh. I worked countless hours to receive poor feedback on assignments. There's a problem if the professor can only point out every negative thing you do, instead of giving some credit for positive things. Start crying now!
While I received a good grade in this class, I was overall extremely disappointed in the professor and the structure of the class. The professor was never welcoming toward students and often had a belittling attitude towards students. If you can opt out of taking it with this professor, do so!!!
Dr. Amanda Kraha is a great instructor. She is understanding, kind, and patient with her students. I learned a lot from this course.
Dr. Kraha is a great professor who makes class and lectures relatable to our lives and the world around us.
She can be a tough grader, but she gives very good feedback to help you do betetr on future assignments. She relates a lot of the topics to real life scenarios to help make the material more entertaining to learn and easier to remember. She is good at keeping the class engaged and is overrall a great professor to have.
Dr. Kraha was an amazing Professor, I will definitely sign up for another face-to-face class from her. She makes learning fun and we still get all the information we need.
Dr. Kraha was awesome. The most helpful and passionate professor I have ever had. Helped tremendously throughout the entire class and even kept a great sense of humor. Would 10/10 take any of her classes.
I loved having Her as my professor, I would totally have her as a professor again. She was very helpful and made the material easy to learn.
awesome teacher and awesome class highly recommend!
A little tougher than other 200 level courses, but gave plenty of opportunities for help and extra credit.
This class is very difficult, but the professor is amazing. She has set up her dashboard to be as user-friendly as possible. It was also very helpful that she has her book set up to answer questions as you read the information to solidify it in your mind. She was unbelievably accommodating and helpful throughout the semester. I highly recommend!
During the pandemic Dr. Kraha was extremely understanding of her students well-being and the stress that could be associated with it. She encouraged us to do our best even if that standard was lower than in the beginning.
Yes there is enough work to do, but she breaks it down by week and is very helpful. She gives really good feedback and is clear.
I had participated in two other classes taught by Dr. Kraha and requested her for this last one. She gives honest feedback, but only to be helpful. She is definitely an asset to IUE.
She has a humorous side! She does expect you to be professional, which is a good thing. It's real life training for our careers and I respect that. The homework can be tough but she will answer your questions - you just have to ask them.
Graded things pretty promptly. Provided helpful feedback. I had no huge issues with the course.
Horrible professor. She does not respond to emails. Emailed her several times and never got a response, even her teachers assistant was hard to reach. Do not take this class with her.
Dr. Kraha is a great professor; my favorite thing about her is that she always provides examples for tough writing assignments so I know exactly what is being expected of me every time I turn my work in. She also provides plenty of opportunities to gain extra credit throughout the course, which is great for people who are not strong paper writers.
Great teacher. Would recommend.
I like that she motivates the inner scientist in you. She adds many videos to strengthen her lectures and makes students understand the content. Most of all, she lets you makes mistake and fix that mistake as well. I enjoyed the class!
I had Dr. Kraha for my senior seminar. She made writing our thesis manageable by giving us deadlines along the way with good feedback. The text book is actually an interesting read and the homework and quizzes are not overpowering since the main focus is the final thesis. She also responds in a prompt manner. Happy that I took her course!
Dr. Kraha was great 10/10 would recommend. She made it easy to complete my thesis and provided feedback quickly. I wasn't too confident about my topic until I met with her via zoom. She gave great suggestions that I used throughout my work.
Dont remember any material from her classes. Also not great at communicating and building rapport with students, and she literally couldnt care less if you exist. Ive taken several classes with her and had many interactions with her, and when I asked her for a letter of recommendation for graduate school she claimed she didnt even remember me.
As someone who is not very good at math, I was extremely nervous to take this course but I ended up really enjoying it and passed the class with a B+. Dr. Kraha does an awesome job of breaking everything down and explaining it in terms that are easily understood.
With this professor I would like to say that she is very understanding and helpful. I think those qualities are very important.
I believe her to be a caring professor. I do not learn well with e-books. I needed the hard copy to reference as I work through the exercises. It was hard to follow, going back and forth. The content in hers was good. I would have purchased one if made available in a different format. I will be back!
