she is a great teacher hands down. i had her for interpersonal communication and the very few tests we were given were very open ended so you can get the answers correct many different ways while still knowing the subject matter. great sence of humor and very helpfull. im looking forward to being in a class of hers again. seriously take her class.

When i signed up for the class I thought that it was going to be terrible. But a few weeks into the class I realized that things we're pretty easy. She is a laid back and down to earth. She was very helpful and I would love to take her class again. The teacher makes the class and I would definitely recommend her Small Group Comm. Class.

Amanda is a cool teacher. Shes down to Earth. She likes to encourage her students with practice and repetition. She loves to smile. She has a fun character and all because of her I am working on becoming a better story teller.

Teaches from a Power Point but isn't boring and is more then willing to stop and take questions. You need to read the books to pass her quizes, but they are fairly easy, as is getting credit during the class discussions.

I took this class first part of summer. Dr. Olson is laid back, but can become serious quickly. I ended up learning up a lot about myself and how I communicate with others. The class allowed people to become friends. On the last day, we partied and some of us hugged good-bye to those we may not see again. Great Class!!

I took her Interpersonal Communications class Spring semester and found it awesome!! I only had 3 projects- one of them being a music analysis project (my group went all out on it). You only take 2 tests, which are based off of your notes. You can write notes and examples to explain what you mean and takes that for consideration for your answer. :)

She assigned 3 projects, and they were pretty fun to do. You only take 2 exams, and several open-notes quizzes. Keep up with readings, take notes, take lecture notes, and you'll be good. Overall, I think she is a good professor.

AO is an excellent teacher. Projects are interesting and somewhat of a challenge but you do learn quite a bit about communication methods and styles.

i took communicatin 1051 during summer with amanda olson, she is a very nice teacher who cares about students. she a lot about whether we understand her material or not. she always goes high to do everything she can. she is funny and awesome instuctor. it was fun to be in a her class. i would trully recommend her class. she is the best!

Amanda was an amazing professor. She's engaging, helpful, and intelligent. I took her Public Speaking class, and I don't regret it one bit! She's informative and her lectures are great. However, she can be a bit disorganized and forget a couple of assignments. Overall though, she's a great teacher.

Dr. Olson was a wonderful teacher; she is very knowledgeable and strives to make her class fun! As long as you do the readings, reading responses, and attend class everyday, you will do well. The tests are based off of the power points she uses in class, which she posts to D2L. Attendance is mandatory (can't miss more than 4 days). Fun & easy class

Amanda is the smartest prettiest of all professors. She went out of her way to make sure we all got a passed. Make it a point to score high on If Then statements then you will be good. I did not do well with the mid-term and the Final Exam but got a B in the end because I kept scoring 90-95% in the If Then statements from the beginning.

AMANDA IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!! TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH HER YOU WILL LOVE HER. She cares about the students and wants to help you learn, the class I was in also had a helpful tutor!!

She is beyond willing to go out of her way to make sure her students are successful. She knows the course well and is very intelligent. She is awesome! No idea if it's always this way, but my classmates were very young. The class seemed catered to that- which is fine. However, being a non-trad I felt a bit out of place during group work and somewhat so during class discussions. Regardless, Dr. O cares about her students and always gives awesome feedback. Def would take her again!

In her public speaking class, Dr. Olson was a great teacher in the fact that she could tell when the class became bored and would try to liven things up. The book was useful in referring back to when writing speeches and was necessary for completing the homework. I would definitely take another class with her!

She understands that not everyone is a great public speaker and is willing to work with you to be the best you can be. There are no test, just four speeches and online discusses. Take her if you aren't a great public speaker.

I took this as a summer class so it was accelerated. Grading was explained very clearly on the syllabus. Reading & watching movies are a must but follow the guides & it is very easy. Amanda offered to open up a room to watch the movies at school w/ others from the class. Participation is a must. She is very accommodating & wants you to do well.

Amanda is a really great professor. She is really flexible and understanding. She loves meeting different types of people and knows that everybody has their own level of speaking ability. Awesome professor, and I highly recommend!

I enjoyed her public speaking class for the most part. A lot of the lectures seemed pretty pointless though. But she gave good feedback and was a lenient grader. Not sure how much my speaking skills improved, as we only did 3 speeches and a job interview.

She's an awesome person and the course is so laid back. The homework is easy to accomplish and the biggest workload is the speeches, which is understandable. If you're taking a communication class with the teacher then it is the best class you will ever take. Dr. Olson is amazing. She teaches good, she understands, and gives great feed back. I am not a talkative person in class but she makes her classroom environment comfortable. If not the best then one of the best professors I had in my 3 years here.

I love Amanda so much. She is so supportive of her students and understands that everyone has their own thing going on. She just wants to see everyone do the best that they can. For someone who gets really nervous infant of people, public speaking with her her was surprisingly fun. Only downside is she sometimes takes a while to get back grades.

This is how amazing Amanda is: I am only in my fourth week of her class & had to leave a review. She is funny, nice, & understanding. There are a lot of HW assignments, BUT they are usually very short & easy. I normally hate talking to teachers, yet easily approached her when I had questions. Also, she loves teaching the subject & it shows.

This is my first year in college and I was nervous I won't like some of my professors. She was very kind from the start and she is quite flexible with your life. I felt having a connection with her helped my grades.

Loved this class, and this professor cares about her students. Somewhere you can learn without so much pressure. This class consisted of weekly quizzes, with 3 attempts, and they were based directly on the material she gives you. We also did weekly discussion posts. No tests or papers. Highly recommend

Amanda Olson is by far the most nicest and happiest teachers I have learned from. One of the rare few teachers that understand students take more than one class and also have lives outside of school. I learned a lot, at my own pace and have never smiled more at an online course. I wish she could be my teacher for everything or we could be friends.

Doesn't get much better than Amanda. She offers an incredibly flexible schedule, but follows up if you're falling behind. She really cares about student success and seems willing to help where she can. She seems very passionate about the material. If you have an opportunity, take a class with her. you will not be disappointed.

I LOVED this class. Amanda makes it very clear in the way she grades and how things are done in her class. The readings aren't too bad, they're actually interesting and engaging, and this is coming from someone who hates reading. I would say the only part that takes me long is the discussion portion takes longest, but that's bc I'm a slow writer.

Professor Olson is the sweetest teacher! She cares about her students a lot. Her homework aren't so bad and her grading is always on time. Her textbook is online and will give you access, so you don't need to waste money to buy an actual book. I would definitely take Dr. Olson's class again!

Professor Olson is good but so far she has due dates that don't make sense when she doesn't post the new homework on time and she never responded to my emails. Makes me kind of sad because I want a professor that would communicate back and is on time so I can keep up with homework.

Her reading materials are free (the best part), pleasant, and very captivating; you'll never be bored of what comes after. There are weekly discussions. Pay attention to the rubrics for grading, and you'll be fine. Accept late assignments and very understanding of one's personal life outside of school. One of the best professors, I'll say.

Awesome professor, if you are actively participating you can surely get through this class with ease. She is very nice and comforting, she is willing to help anyone out with their papers or ideas. Gives everyone opportunities to share their ideas and thoughts.

While she's a very understanding professor who's more than willing to help with coursework, I just didn't have the best experience with her. I emailed her three times in the span of five weeks for questions, as my class was accelerated, and I never got any replies. Her grading standards aren't particularly clear, but she's very sweet.

Super nice professor. Highly recommend. The only thing that I did not like was that some of the grades were not posted until almost the end. I had a feeling she was not super organized. But overall, she was very respectful to the students and different ideas.

I can not see how anyone could hate this professor, she is amazing. The course is stress free, shes super helpful and very much cares about her students. She gives you so much time do do work and its not complicated whatsoever. If you are thinking about taking her course, DOO IT. She is so sweet.

Amanda Olson's class was super easy and really fun. She was really understanding when I was having a difficult time with other classes. She gave amazing feedback on the assignments and was not strict at all. If you need to take a public speaking class, I 100% recommend this professor.

I took Amanda's hyflex public speaking class and it was great! There are about five speech modules that she walks you through and gives you feedback. If you are a PSEO student who needs a Communication course, take one with Amanda!
