She seems like she knows what she's talking about but she talks too much about other things besides the topic. I get distracted easily as it is so I wasn't to fond of her class. Also I feel like she teaches to fast. But very nice lady though.
I absolutely loved her! Ms Amber gives amazing lectures! I honestly did not have to use the textbook - that's how good her lectures were! Cares deeply about students! Nicest person ever and a great teacher!!!
Ms. Bieske was a fabulous teacher at HCC. We did not need the textbook in her class. She met us on the weekends and did not miss one class. She pointed out the important parts of the class because we were not able to learn everything. She also opened up all of the homework at the end of the semester for us to catch up. LOVE HER!
Great teacher. Print out your notes before class to fill in the blanks. Attendance not required but will have graded iClicker questions. All homework, quizzes and tests online. Buy the access code online it's cheaper! You won't need the book even though its included. Follow her study guides for the tests and you'll do great! She's awesome
Mrs. Bieske is awesome and reminds me of Tine Fey. I loved taking her class and I was bale to pass Math, which I struggle with! If you dont have her as a teacher you are seriously missing out!
Ms. Bieske is one of the best teachers I've had so far in my academic career. She is enthusiastic, funny, caring, and she definitely knows what she's talking about. Im a very poor math student, and I've passed both Finite and College alg with flying colors with her. She's awesome!!
BIESKE IS AMAZING! She is full of life and makes learning enjoyable, I was actually sad when classes were over. She generally cares about her students success in the class and offers a good amount of extra credit. If I could take her for every math class I need to take I would. You would be a fool not to take her!
So basically, Professor Bieske is awesome. I have always struggled with math, even more so at the college level. However, Bieske really breaks it down and spends the time necessary for one to understand a concept. She genuinely cares about her students getting good grades and understanding the material. Take her.
She is definitely one of the best math teachers I have ever had! Her notes are excellent and she even posts the worked out problems to exam reviews, which was a major help. If you can, definitely take her class.
Hands down, the best teacher I have ever had! EVER! If you get the opportunity, take her class. I didn't struggle once. She makes math fun.
Her notes are very colorful, she's an overall funny, wonderful person who clearly knows what she is doing. Is willing to help anyone in need. Very honest on difficulty of tests. Extremely easy clicker questions. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT TESTS!!!! Really helps on the final grade! You'll hate MyLabPlus that's okay she does too :) Very supportive!
I've never been good in math, nor have I liked many math classes in the past, but Ms. Bieske made math super fun! She really connects with her students and puts in a lot of effort to help them. Her great examples and stories make lessons easy to digest. If you struggle at all in math, her class is excellent!
Ms. Bieske is extremely sweet and one of the nicest, funniest teachers I have ever had. Her class is a joy as is she. The problem is that sometimes she can go kind of fast and if you don't keep up with things then its super easy to fall behind, especially on the homework (all of which is online). Is she a good teacher? Yes; Is her class hard? Yes
I took this class because I needed one more math class for my FKLs & I wanted an easy course to keep my GPA up. No regrets here. Bieske is helpful, nice, & a good teacher. The material was super easy after her lectures. Fourfive tests, homework & quizzes, lab attendance, & clicker grades, but she drops some of the lowest scores. Ended with a 100%.
She's boring and her test are easy if you study ahead of time from her study guide. Overall she's a better college algebra teacher and trig teacher. Calculus is not her strong suit to teacher student.
The funniest, kindest, most helpful professor I've ever had. The content was explained wonderfully, she was always in the SMART lab to help. I've never been more bummed that I can't take another math class, because she teaches it!
Ms. Bieske is a great teacher and I highly recommend taking any of her math classes. I was very nervous about taking Calc. 1 at first but she made learning extremely easy and fun. She does teach fast at times, as someone else mentioned, but it isn't too bad. Overall, you should pass as long as you pay attention, do homework, and study if necessary.
Amber Bieske is by far the best math teacher I have had in years. She takes topics and material that is sometimes not interesting, and makes it easier to learn. I was always an average math student, but with Bieske i made an A in Pre-calculus and a B+ in Calculus 1. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
Ms. Bieske is by far one of the best math teachers at the University of South Florida. I had her for Pre-Calculus and received a B+ in her class. She has moved on to Calculus 1, but I would recommend every one to take her class. She's a great teacher all around.
I took bieske for finite and she's the bomb. I only got a B because I literally put in no effort and barely went to class. If you just go to smart lab every week you'll get an A. She's super funny and makes math not so awful. I'd recommend her if you want an easy math class.
Professor Bieske is one of the BEST professors at USF. Her notes are clear and really helpful. Go to the smart lab and do your homework (you have 4 attempts for each question). You can take the quizzes more than once. You have 2 chances to make an A on a test. I studied by reviewing my homework and doing the practice tests.
Funniest professor ever. She loves her students and her field more than anyone. Always keeps things interesting with funny anecdotes. 10/10 would take the class again
SHE IS AWESOME! Super helpful and engaging. Best professor I've ever had. For the first time ever, I understand math!
Amazing teacher!! She explains tough math in ways anyone can understand, and she always makes sure everyone does. She's also super funny and her daughter is adorable. I hope I can get her again for all my future math classes here.
Professor Bieske is very nice and funny. She makes the class easy to understand, and she goes over problems before tests, to make sure everyone gets is. She does not require the textbook, and she makes great notes!
She's a great teacher. If you go to class, bring your clicker, do lab hours, you'll be fine. She makes the work super easy and she answers any questions you have. You have 50 chances to get each question on the homework right and 2 chances for quizzes. She also uploads the notes to canvas in case you didn't copy them in class. Overall I recommend.
Bieske is awesome. She makes math make sense. Do NOT leave class early or she will assign extra clicker questions, its rude anyway. Assignments and quizzes are online and frustrating, math lab is horrible, however she has no control over this. She prepares you as best as she can for the final and exams. Fair grader!
I failed this course twice before at a different university, but this professor made the material much easier to understand. If you show up to class you will pass. The notes are really clear and easy to follow. She is super helpful and is willing to take questions after class. She keeps class light and as fun as math can be. Definitely recommend!
I had her for Finite Math and she is the best math teacher I have ever had. She explains everything in a way that makes it seem super easy. Also, she drops a lot of assignments so it's nearly impossible for you to fail her class unless you do nothing.
I love math so I got an easy A in this class, but I know a lot of people who struggled. Going to class will help a ton. She's probably the best teacher you'll get for this class. Gives awesome filled out notes that helped me and a ton of friends. Definitely take it with her if you have to take this class.
I took her for finite math, it was the strangest math course I ever took but she posts all the necessary notes on Canvas, then fills them out in the lecture hall on the projector, then re-posts them completed with her notes. I never had to open the book, and she was super fast about responding to Canvas. If you skip class you will fall far behind
She is very laid back and helpful. Smart lab work is easy and so are the quizzes. There are 4 exams that can be retaken. She goes over all the notes in class and posts them online. She makes time to see students and encourages the use of office hours. She is very funny and there are only 2 group assignments done in class.
I hate math and I got an A+ She is honestly the best math teacher I have ever had. She is hilarious and relates well with students. She actually wants you to succeed and will help you with anything. Going to class is helpful but she posts all the notes online, sometimes clicker questions, tests are a big part of grade, definitely recommend!!
Professor Bieske was amazing. Matched with her sense of humor, she really makes a math course enjoyable and understandable. She truly cares for her students. Make sure you attend class because she does give clickers, and those can make or break your grade.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Amber!!! She is a great person all around and it is clear that she cares about her students and their grades. She gives awesome notes and always scans them into canvas after class. She makes math easy to understand and will work with you to help you succeed. She tells funny stories too! :)
Bieske is awesome! She actually makes going to class kind of fun and is super helpful and clear. She drops a lot of assignments so if you mess up for any reason you still have a good chance of getting a good grade. If you're good at math this will be an easy A for you.
Ms. Beiske is an AMAZING TEACHER!!! I abolutley love her! She is so kind and funny, and helps alot. I really hate Math, like I made a D in my college algebra course, but she made math really fun and understandable. You wont regret taking her!!
i hate math but honestly, she made it easy to learn. even though she doesn't give extra credit opportunities, she does drop a lot of your lowest grades in test, homework, quizzes and attendance. with that being said I recommend this teacher to anyone looking for a math teacher who actually teaches
Her class is amazing. She is very helpful and is always going to be there for the students. Be prepared to do Smartlab though. It really isn't as bad as people say it is.
Go to lecture! She's really helpful and makes the lectures hilarious. She really clarifies the material so you understand it when you do the homework in smart lab. She provides really good study guides for the exams, drops your lowest exam grade if you choose to take the cumulative final, and drops a hefty amount of low clicker grades, and quizzes.
I took her class 2016 summer. she is the best professor in USF. There were 4 test and she drop lower socre test. she made class fun and easy. take her class !!
Best. Teacher. Ever. She's more than fair and she cares so much! She's also really cool and fun. The math is super easy too.
Normal math class, show up and you'll understand the work better. Tests are pretty average, don't pass it you can make it up with a slightly harder test. Homework will get ya though
Easiest math class I've ever taken. She's super fun and quirky, making it a lot of fun. She uses real life. funny examples (Star Wars, Chris Evans, etc.) and posts all of her notes on Canvas, one you can complete in class and the completed one (after class). She explains everything really well in class so GO! Must purchase online textbook.
Super easy teacher. Explains everything & understands completely! Pushes back homework assignments often and is very lenient with grading. Gives plenty of extra credit on her exams and it is super easy to get an A in her class is you pay attention and attend lectures!
I myself am horrible at math. However, Mrs. Amber is an incredible teacher and brings a new light to math. Yes, math is still very hard for me but the way she teaches is so refreshing. She is bubbly, kind, and actually cares about her students well being. Wonderful teacher and definitely recommend her for finite mathematics.
Amber is awesome, very funny and really knows her stuff. Her lectures are very nice and she really knows how to explain everything.
One of the best math teachers you can take at USF. Her tests are similar to the study guides, she drops 4 of the homeworks, & she offers plenty of extra credit. All you have to do for the class is show up (she gives lots of hints for the tests if you attend class), pay attention, and study from her study guides. She's also hilarious & caring.
Great teacher. She does everything possible to help you succeed. You don't even need to do 2 Smart Lab hours a week if you get an 80 or above on the homework. She also dropped 6 clicker grades at the end of the semester. Oh, and she comes with a sense of humor.
I LOVE PROFESSOR AMBER BIESKE! She is the absolute best professor ever. She's funny and engaging and honestly her class is absolutely effortless. She posts notes online that you can print out and follow along with in class. She also drops tons of grades. Like your lowest quizzes, clickers, etc. You won't use the textbook at all.
One of the best professors at USF, without a doubt. She teaches you what you need to know, is incredibly nice and has a great sense of humor. She's the type of professor that makes you want to go to class. Drops lowest clicker and homework grades and gives a good amount of extra credit on tests and for attending class.
The best professor I've ever had. She makes math fun and easy. Don't get the textbook you won't ever need it. Posts the lecture notes online to print and bring in to follow along if you want, and posts completed notes after class if you missed a lecture. Drops a bunch of low grades. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Amazing Professor! She is simply amazing and makes the material understandable. She's always making the class laugh and has a simple way of teaching all the concepts. I enjoyed the class and got an easy A! Just read her lecture notes and the solutions that are worked out for the test reviews and you should be good to go! No textbook used either.
This professor really tried to make math something fun. It was stupidly easy, I hardly did anything and got a B. Clearly intended for people who hate math or have an IQ under 80. I did not realize that when I enrolled, but she did and was extremely patient, funny, and very clear about what she needed from you. In that regard, I was very impressed.
Amber was one of the most lade back professors. Everything is done in the SMART lab (except quizzes which helps your grade). She gives you the notes that you just fill in the blanks during class. Tests are easy and as long as you pay attention and do the work you should get an A. If you do not pass this class, you need to change you.
I have never been good at math and I actually got an A in this class and didn't even have to take the final exam! She really tries to have students understand concepts from real world perspectives with realistic approaches and equation shortcuts. She always made class exciting and I actually looked forward to math! Clicker questions, though!
Best professor I have ever had.
Took this class for an easy A, and it's exactly what I got. Weekly homework assignments to be done in the smart lab and quizzes (take about an hour altogether), 4 exams that you can attempt twice, and an optional final. She really tries to make concepts easy to understand and is willing to work with students outside of class if they need extra help
If you need to take MAC2241 just take her. She is the best professor ever. Cares about the student, the lectures are amazing and you will have fun for sure.
She's great and makes the material so easy. Her study guides are really similar to the tests, she gives tons of extra credit and she's hilarious.
She is a fantastic professor. She really cares if you understand the material and wants you to pass the class. She is very sweet and makes lectures funny and enjoyable.
I loved amber, she was so nice and funny that she made learning math a pleasure.
If you want to pass a math class deffinently take a class with her!
(Finite Math/MGF1106) AWESOME PROFESSOR. Could not be happier. I'm a PoliSci major so math is my kryptonite. She makes it so easy and relates it to things we understand! You know how you'd be studying for a math test in HS and when you get to the test, its nothing like what you'd been studying? Not here! She gets what other math profs don't. BEST!
GREAT teacher , very easy class... take it!
I hate math so I thought this class was going to be easy and no its not but you can still do well if you work for it. You do your homework in the math lab at the library (the hours are annoying), and the quizzes at home. Whenever I missed class I would try to do the homework and was confused, so go! She makes a lot of jokes but is a great teacher.
I absolutely loved having her as a professor, Life Science Calculus I is probably unlike any other math class that I've ever had. She is funny as well as witty and understands that some concepts might be difficult for us. There is usually extra credit on our exams which eases some of the test anxiety. She enjoys what she does and it shows.
She is beyond amazing and made class super entertaining. Knows the subject thoroughly, and gives students multiple ways to get to the answer. She taught me in an hour what I couldnt understand for a full year in High School. She is a truly incredible teacher. I didn't attend class often, but when I did it was worth it.
I absolutely LOVED her!! She was a great professor and supper helpful, if you do your homework and quizes you will pass easily. I recommend her to anyone who hates math because I did and now I love it.
Awesome teacher, made calculus easier to understand compared to my past math teachers. If you took AP Calc in high school, you should be fine in her classes. I breezed through her coursework and ended with a high grade; nonetheless, she makes math fun and understandable to those who don't. Most of her extra credit involves her daughter lol
She talks to you like you are seven and spends the bulk of class time showing old Disney music videos, however, this is necessary considering how slow some of the students are who take this class. She is very caring and compassionate and truly has the student's best interest in mind. She is also very funny and the content of the course is not hard.
I believe she is one of the best math professors you can ever have. Very understanding, and does not lecture you to death. Makes the class relaxing, and tries to help the students out as much as possible. Really enjoyed being a student in her class.
She teaches this class like it's a "Calc for Dummies" course and it's amazing. Attendance is required and she checks these through in-class and at-home quizzes (which are password protected), but they are incredibly easy. The exams are very easy too if you pay attention and do the HW. As long as you show up you'll be fine. Plus 15 minute breaks.
I am not great at math and she made it understandable and even enjoyable, which I didn't think was possible for me. She loves teaching, she's funny, and she makes hard subject matter easy to understand. I highly suggest going every class as they way she teaches the class makes the HW so much easier. One of the best teachers I have ever had!
Amber Bieske is such a great math teacher! Being somebody who isnt so great at math, she makes it super easy to understand. You can print out blank copies of the notes and just fill them in as class goes on, she goes through each problem step by step, examples in notes are extremely similar to problems on homeworks and quizzes. Overall love her!!!
She is an amazing teacher, who uses current people and events to make math more fun. The work isn't hectic, but if you miss a day you will confused. Her class is only 50 minutes and the class is really quick
Great teacher who is really funny and in-tune with real life examples... keeps math interesting and easy to understand even if you hate it! I love her!
She is a great teacher. Gives such good notes that you don't need to use the textbook. Clicker questions cause you to have to be in class to get the points. Highly recommend (taught me business calc.). Funny teacher. Optional SmartLab participation for extra credit.
Professor Bieske is by far the best professor I have ever had. She actually makes it fun to learn. I don't think I could have passed business calc without her. :)
She is an amazing professor. She made bus calc interesting and she genuinely cares about her students and wants them to do well in her class. She is also hilarious which really helps make bus calc go by faster.
There are clicker questions and lab hours that count as participation. She drops a lot of grades at the end of the semester and you can take tests twice. Its an easy math class and she really is trying to get everyone to pass. Lectures were funny and easy to follow (printing out her notes ahead of time is crucial). Best math teacher ive ever had.
Amber was a really fun professor to take Calc with. There were times when she kind of lost control of the class because she was being cool but overall I think she had a really good teaching strategy and made learning calculus easy for someone not strong at math. Definitely would take again.
Great teacher, super fun and really nice. Didn't show up to that many classes and still finished with a decent grade. Test are easy if you do the study guide. Must go to the smart lab at least once a week. Crammed for test a day before and still would get Bs.
Best professor I ever had. Math isnt my thing at all but she teaches it in a way I can understand. Her tests are similar to the study guides and she gives you everything you need to pass, plus extra credit. Shes super funny too and her lectures are entertaining, i'm not sure how she makes calculus fun but she does! I'd love to take her again
Best professor Ive ever had! Shes an easy A but you are learning at the same time. Her study guides really prepare you for the test, so study those and youll do great. She also gives extra credit on tests and drops the lowest test grade. Shes straight forward and tells you exactly what you need! I wish I could take her again
I highly recommend taking any course with her, she really tries to make sure everyone understands the material and actually explains problems. 100% would take a course with her again.
She is absolutely amazing!! The course itself was difficult for me because Im terrible at math but she actually made it way easier than any other professor. You wont need the book because she tells you everything that will be on her exams on her notes. Notes are posted online. She is so helpful at office hours!! Seriously go to office hours
She is hilarious and amazing! If she was an option for all of my courses college would be a breeze! Everything you need to pass is literally given to you in the study guides and class lectures. She makes it fun to go to class. Literally the only time I have gone to EVERY single class and it was a drag. Def recommend!!
Bieske is the best! She is hilariously funny and cares so much about her students. I am NOT a math person, but she has made it so easy to understand. Make sure you print the notes off of Canvas, it helps you to pay attention in class. There are clicker questions almost every day, which counts for attendance. 10/10 would take another of her classes!
funny
Awesome professor for life science calu 1. Tests are not multiple choice. Extra credit is offered on every test. Tests are very similar to the review she gives the class before. Homework is assigned online on webassign which is easy grade. Make sure to attend peer leading for a easy boost to your grade.
She was really easy to understand. She makes the class wanna learn and she sets you up for success. I never liked math or understood it until I had her. Best teacher I had this sesmeter...
Amber Bieske is amazing, even though I struggle with math Finite Math was a breeze for me. She is an amazing teacher who tries to make every class fun and enjoyable. Furthermore, you wont need to use the textbook as all the materials you need are her notes and study guides.
Professor Bieske is a real laid back type of teacher. A lot of people seem to love her because in class she jokes around ALOT to the point where its annoying. I couldnt stand it. Math is my weakest subject so I prefer to have a teacher who will be stern and help me but my time with bieske was the opposite. Shes too much of a friend than a teacher
Professor Bieske is probably the BEST professor I've ever taken. Explains things CRYSTAL CLEAR, and willing to re-explain as many times as needed. She's very funny, gives extra credit, easy and generous grader, practice tests that REALLY match her tests. I was scared in the beginning because its Calc but she really made it easy man. GOD BLESS HER.
Easy papers, easy homework and easy quizzes. What more can you ask?
You may not like her jokes but who cares?! She does her best to make this class interesting and easy to pass. It's easy if you do the homework, quizzes, and show up to class. She doesn't trick you on tests and she gives partial and extra credit. Be thankful that teachers like her exist and smile/nod at her jokes. Don't cheat, everyone suffers.
Prof Bieske is by far my favorite professor. She makes going to a 9:30 Calc lecture less painful by her bubbly personality, and creative solutions that help you understand math concepts. She always makes me smile. She will make you work for that A, though. She's nice, but far from a pushover, and I respect her so much for it.
This class is pretty easy if you're not dumb. It is not even real math. She calls it "arithmetic." You get clicker points for coming to class. Homework is on MyMathLab & is super easy. There's maybe like 4 get ready assignments & they're easy too. Weekly quizzes are more like monthly. She drops lot of grades at the end of the semester. she's nice
Professor Bieske was my absolute FAVORITE professor this semester. I had her for life sciences calculus, and even though I was convinced going in that I would hate calc, she completely changed my mind. She's hilarious, and her lectures are amazing. She also grades fairly, giving partial credit on exams and dropping the worst exam grade.
Definitely recommend this teacher if you struggle in math. She breaks everything down and makes it easy to understand.
Make sure you go to class because she does include daily clicker questions into your final grade; however, she does drop 4 of them. She gives reviews for each test, which are counted as extra credit. She also explains the material very well. On top of that, she keeps you laughing and engaged.
Go. To. Class. She gives lots of extra credit based off of information only given in class. Besides that, she posts the notes on canvas so you dont have to go to class to see what she did but you will miss a heap of clicker points and extra credit opportunities.
She is a great teacher. I had her for an 8 AM and she still managed to be lively and fun. She teaches well and is willing to help you outside of class if you still have trouble. There are 4 tests and an optional final. you also have 2 attempts for the tests. I would highly recommend this teacher.
I do not know anything about math, but I got a 98 in her class. She makes lecture entertaining, always talks about her kid and GOT. She tells you exactly what is on the exam, do the study guide and you will be fine. The lowest grade I got was a 90 on an exam. The exams are straightforward, just do the review and you will be fine.
I have had so many math teachers in my life but she was literally the best. I have always been so bad at math but with her help, I feel like the smartest mathematician ever, no joking. I would take every math class with her!
Prof. Bieske is absolutely amazing! A great professor, provides a lot of extra credit, and has come up with unique teaching methods which are extremely helpful for those who struggle with math. She's also always making a joke or telling a crazy story which helps keep your attention and makes you not want to miss class. You can also drop her final!
Class is fairly easy and she makes math enjoyable.
I love her. I've taken 2 math classes with her and she's by far the best math teacher I've had. She makes sure people are understanding what's happening in the lecture and she does guided notes for every session so it's easy to follow along with her. Homework is done in smart lab, but it's worth the trips to the library because of the extra help.
I have never done so good in a math class before in my life before I took Amber's class. I got an A on every exam in the semester and am dropping the final. She's hilarious, knows her stuff, and does not try to trick you on her tests. Do the reviews and go to class and make sure you stay. If you're stuck, go to office hours, she'll definitely help.
Professor Bieske was amazing. She taught the material in an understandable way, the tests were a little harder than the practice exams but still easy if you practiced, and always gave you the answers to the clickers. She is also very funny, which made class enjoyable. She gives homework every week, but it's usually only a few problems.
Professor Bieske is hands down my favorite math teacher I've had. Even with a class of 100+, she always made sure everyone was on the same page. Her grading is very clear and she is always willing to help. I'm not great at math and this as the most enjoyable and most life skilled math class I've ever taken. No textbook, HW mymathlab, exams in class
10/10 best calc professor. Class was very easy & she truly made the content digestible for anyone, regardless of math ability. She has a very fun, bubbly personality which makes math easier to learn imo. Exams were just like exam review she gave beforehand and she would give questions on the exam that she only mentioned in class so, GO TO CLASS.
Professor Amber is one of the greatest professors at USF. Her lectures are enjoyable and she is always super kind and caring. Her tests are straightforward and she posts an exam review which is very similar to the exam. There are clickers in class so you do have to go to class, but trust me it's always fun!
Best calc professor , exam reviews are just like the exam know everything on them and you will get an A on every exam, homework and extra credit are important , do so well on the first 4 exams so you don't have to take the final! She's also fun and caring in her office hours , highly recommend!
I LOVE Amber. She is one of those profs that really makes an effort to get to know her students She is one of the most patient people I've ever met and makes sure you fully understand the materal. She does lots of examples in class and makes the homework super similar to the in class examples. 10/10
Her lectures are pretty good and she ensures to keep us entertained with funny stories so we don't burn out. Her class is test heavy (64% of your grade) so you definitely need to spend about 2-3 days leading up the the exam day studying. She does drop the lowest exam grade (it can even be your final). Exam 1 and 4 were the easiest of her exams.
Bieske definitely made calc an enjoyable experience, and the material is easy enough to understand as long as you attend lectures.
Great Professor, a true gem to the math department!
NOTE that attendance is NOT mandatory but pop quizzes are frequent (she doesnt have them every class). As someone who's pretty bad at even basic math, prof Bieske made math bearable. She is easygoing and if you put a normal amount of effort you'll likely get an A. She clearly respects and cares about her students.
I'm terrible at math and got an A in her class. DURING the summer! Do yourself a favor and take her. I honestly couldn't imagine having a more funny, caring, engaging, and straightforward math teacher. Go to class (Clickers), don't be afraid to ask questions, do the practice exams! There's also a lot of extra credit!
Bieske was absolutely amazing! I completely understood the material by showing up to class and doing the homework. There was a lot of homework, but it was relatively easy and made understanding the material super easy. Tests were straight forward and didn't try to trick you. Go to lecture! Not only for the clicker points, but she's hilarious too!
THE funniest professor I've had. She makes every class fun and interesting. The content is really easy and she gives you infinite chances on every quiz & can re-take every test. Her lectures are helpful and has note outlines on her canvas. Do the homework and the quizzes and you'll easily pass with an A
Such a genuine, caring, and funny professor! Always in a good mood and isn't afraid to crack a PG-13 type joke in the middle of a lecture. Absolutely recommend especially if math is a hard topic for you to focus on
One the best professors / math teachers I've ever had. She teaches very well but also is able to create a relaxed environment within the classroom. She's always available for extra help and goes out of her way to help meet with her students if they cant make office hours. Tests were straightforward, and there were only two quizzes all semester.
She is funny and explains things clearly! It's easy to get an A+ in this course as long as you attend lectures (for clicker points) and complete the weekly HW/quizzes. The quizzes must be taken in the library's SMART Lab. At the end of the year, she drops 4 clicker points, 4 quizzes, 4 HWs, and 1 exam (meaning you may not have to take the final!).
Ms. Bieske was by far the most amazing professor I have ever had. Her teaching is so easy to understand. The class will require effort on your part, but if you get out of it exactly what you put in. All you need to do is attend the lectures and quite frankly becomes the highlight of your day. She is best for new calc learners. Definitely take her.
She is an amazing professor! There is a lot of homework, but easy if you attend and pay attention in class. Even the exams are easy if you attend class and pay attention. There are plenty of opportunities to get a good grade! Don't have to take the final if you do good on the first exams! She was a lot of fun for an 8 AM class.
She is an amazing prof and it is clear that she wants all of her students to succeed. Would 100% recommend.
SHE IS THE BEST! No exaggeration!
Would definitely take a class with her again! She is great at explaining everything and makes long morning lectures interesting and fun.
Professor Bieske is the best!!! She literally made learning math so much easier. You have to go to smart lab but I was fine with it because it helps you learn the material even more. She actually made having to get up for an 8 AM math class on the other side of campus not disgusting. Would def take again.
Was a little skeptical to take this class at first since it was her first time teaching Calculus 2. However, she was definitely one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Her lectures were very engaging, popping some jokes here and there. Calculus 2 is difficult, despite her amazing lectures, you must put in the work to get an A.
A really kind teacher. Very accessible outside class. However, grading on tests is OVERLY tough. You can give work and still not get points if it isn't exactly how she taught it in class. Very low averages on tests and very paranoid of cheating.
For the test you have to print out the exam papers and do your work on that. Then you have to scan your pages to Gradescope. No MC. Test grading is so rough I didn't get points on half of my exam questions because my work was "confusing" even tho I had correct answers! I think I'm going to have to retake this course because of the strict grading.
She is very clear on expectations. Attend the lectures, try to follow along the best you can, review the topics, complete HW/quiz and you will be fine. I didn't find myself turning to outside resources cause she provides a lot of resources to be successful in the class. Practice exam is given before each exam, good representation of actual exam.
Shes really sweet and takes her time to answer questions
I am not joking guys if you have take Calc 1 with her she is actually the best to take it with 100% do not look at anyone else I promise. She helps you so much, offers extra credit, goes slow, makes every test/quiz lined up so well (easier test/quizzes then they actually assume to be). She lays everything for you to seriously get an A/B.
Had a great time in this class. Very structured and easy to follow. You get drops for all three grading categories and multiple attempts for tests and quizzes. Professor Bieske is very helpful and is easily accessible for office hours and additional help you may need in the class.
Professor Bieske explains calculus clearly and makes it easy to understand. If you go to all the lectures, do the hw and practice exams theres a good chance youll get an A. A hw set, a content quiz and some lecture quizzes are also dropped at the end of the semester.
Literally the best math prof I've had hands down. She makes calculus as simple as Algebra 1 (no joke). Class was online due to COVID and so she bent over backwards to help us out, we even had a class discord server where reviews were held and we could ask Qs anytime! Key to an A+ is knowing the test review packets like the back of your hand
She is passive-aggressive if she doesn't like a question she receives and the tests are set amounts and she won't let you remake them if things come up. Not flexible with the student and puts her students down if she feels they are not 'equipped' for calculus.
Typical math teacher who thinks its easy and doesnt get why you dont understand it
Such an easy class, but treats her students like twelve-year-olds. It's mandatory that you have to come to class and takes attendance once a weak randomly. Then, if she doesn't feel good, decides that she wants to cancel class and posts lectures that are longer than the time allotted for class. If you want to get an A just study the practice exam.
The content is super easy, but she explains it as if we were 7 year-olds. Takes way too much time on every problem, always runs out of time not covering even half of the material. Had to study most of the content myself after lectures, then stopped attending lectures at all cause they're useless anyways.
I have never had such a caring professor before. I was very worried about taking calculus and she has made it such a good experience. If you show up to class and take notes like you are supposed to, the class is easy. She provides all the materials you need to succeed and is always available and willing to help us any time of day. TAKE HER !!
I saw reviews talking bad about attendance, but it's only taken once a week and it's the same as clickers if we were to attend in person. She takes the time to explain material which I greatly appreciate. She's such an amazing teacher and she really wants to see her students succeed. She's so encouraging and if you pay attention you'll do well.
Bieske is the best math teacher I've ever had, & I took her online so that's saying A LOT. Teaching style is easy to follow along w and lectures come with pre-made handouts for fast note taking. Many opportunities for extra points on tests/extra credit. Spends hours helping with test prep during office hours and makes great study guides. Take her!
Professor Bieske is an amazing professor for Calculus 1 and is the reason why I will be successful in my upper-level coursework in Calculus at USF. She is engaging and makes the problems fun while allowing you to learn the fundamentals which will help you in the future. This professor will make you enjoy Calculus!
She was really nice and helpful but I took an 8am which was a mistake but her lectures were still helpful when I did go and she works out everything for us to show how everything should be done and answers your questions!
Amazing professor and really helped make learning calc online as easy as she could. Of course, you still have to put in the work and practice, but she will help you in any way she can. I only wish I got to have her in person.
She is absolutely amazing, not only does she make everyone laugh but she's really good at explaining things. Also this class is so easy to pass because of the quizzes and homework's that get dropped.
I can't describe how amazing Amber is. I showed up to class 15-20 mins early every day so I could listen to her funny stories. I love how well she connects with her students, despite there being 100+ of us. If you take notes, you won't have too much trouble with the homework + the practice exams are very similar to the exams. I finished with a 100%
A lot of work but it's all through My Math Lab. She's super sweet and cares for her students. Definitely makes math classes as manageable as possible
She was difficult during class to understand and would often show up late. She teaches from far and doesnt interact with students well. Would not have her as a teacher again.
She's a really nice teacher, loved seeing her grow through her chemo. The class is not too hard if you study and pay attention. a lot of homework and quizzes get dropped. I'm horrible at math and still passed this class with a decent grade.
This was my favorite math class i've ever taken. Amber is such a cool person and is so funny. Her lectures were enjoyable and her notes were easy to follow. I liked her recorded lectures b/c I could import the notes into my ipad and follow along. Highly recommend her for any course, she will make coming to class enjoyable rather than dreadful.
Amazing teacher. Made Calculus extremely easy
Best math teacher I've had, lectures are in-depth and she explains things in a way you can understand without taking a long time. Would take her for every math class if I could!
I went to this class with my friend, and she is the best professor I know on campus. She is hilarious and really connects with her students. She drops some of the lowest grades which is nice, and her class is just always a really good time. Also, always willing to help her students.
I loved her teaching. She understands how to keep us focused by giving us breaks where she talks about literally anything. She answers questions if you need before or after class. The practice exams are practically the actual exam. Overall, this class was easy as quizzes have unlimited attempts and homework could give you steps.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF GIVEN THE CHANCE!!! She is funny, caring, and relatable to the students. She has changed the schedule multiple times this year just because she wants the class to be easier for us. This is the perfect math class for someone who sucks at math. Very easy exams, and she provides extra credit too. W class.
She is a must have professor, super thoughtful and really nice both as a person and when it comes to grading and assignments. She's funny too and made college algebra actually interesting despite how basic the material covered is. Only gripe I would have with her is I can't take anymore classes with her.
Professor Bieske herself is very nice, but as a student who went to class I most certainly did not ever feel prepared to go to SMARTlab after and take exams. The course is heavy and you should avoid it if you don't need to take it.
I LOVE MS BIESKE!! If you're not good at math, you will be after this class. Sit up front and go to lectures because she is so worth it! She will tell you honestly about how hard things are but never judges if you need extra help. She is so funny and charismatic:) (Ms. Bieske if you're reading this you're amazing)
Best professor ever!
My absolute favorite professor. She's so funny and engaging and always helpful. Very organized and clear in lectures and stops to talk through questions. Smart lab hours for quizzes are good for focusing on getting work done and managing time.
Professor Bieske is a great professor who really cares about her students. Going to class is really important if you want to pass, but it's not mandatory. There are only 4 exams + the final, but if you do well on the other exams you won't have to take the final.
She knew how to teach, there are tests and a lot of homework, but that is out of her control. She is very patient and kind.
Was very clear on what the assignments were/ how they would be graded. Loved her:)
Prof. Bieske is easily the best professor I've ever encountered. She truly cares about her students and is not afraid to crack a joke in class. She really helped me understand the material and explained it in several ways, so that everyone could understand. She is so sweet and awesome, take her class!!
She slays. She is really funny and made me want to come to math. I suck at math and would've failed the class but because of extra credit and how many things she drops I ended up with a C bless. She moves things around according to our feedback. Only thing that sucks is SMART lab.
If you're not the best at math i suggest going to the lectures they are super clear and helpful.
Professor Bieske is incredibly kind. Her lectures are very easy to understand, especially for someone who has struggled with math all my life and has dyscalculia. She posts the filled-out notes on canvas if you cannot make it to class, but lectures help a lot. Offers lots of extra credit through practice exams.
Elite professor. Hilarious and fun lectures and overall does a great job of ACTUALLY teaching you. Would 100% take again.
I am currently taking Professor Bieske for Intro to Stats (STATS 2023). The subject matter is somewhat difficult but she explains it very well and works through examples which help with understanding the material. The lectures are enjoyable and Professor Bieske is fun, so attending is easy. She also grades very fairly! Would absolutely take again!
Super kind and funny prof, she made the math clear and easy to understand. Gave plenty of extra credit and dropped some lowest grades. She made a math credit I dreaded taking easy and now I can calculate my own taxes, so that's fun.
Best professor I've had so far. Attendance is mandatory but her lectures are worth attending. Made stats really easy and understanding, would absolutely take again with her.
She is AMAZING and HILARIOUS. So kind and works extra hard to help her students. She makes amazing fill in the blank notes with examples and posts the filled out notes after class. 3 exams, 1 cumulative final, and 1 project. Project is essentially a take home exam. Exams are worth 110 points but graded out of 100 makes it easy to get good grade
Prof. Bieske is one of the sweetest people I've ever met on planet EARTH. This woman is insanely chill, but she gets work done crazy effectively and efficiently. She works hard to make sure that YOU are provided with everything she can so that you can score an A in the course. Cares a ton about each student. The bad reviews don't make any sense.
You can tell she enjoys teaching and cares about her students. Genuinely wants you to succeed. But stats may not be the right class for her to be teaching
Professor Bieske was a delight! She clearly cares about her student's success and loves teaching. She made stats very easy.
For her first time teaching stats she was incredible. Her test averages were higher than the other professors who have been teaching the class for a while now which says a lot. She is eager to help her students succeed in the class. Best way to do good on the test is to do the practice tests multiple times and attend her review sessions.
LOVED HER!!! My only complaint about the course is about the Department of Statistics because it was extremely disorganized at times, which Prof. Bieske had nothing to do with. She does her best to help you understand the material. PS: the tests are almost identical to the practice ones they put out so watch out for those. Hope this helps!
I had a lot of my plate and this is the first class I took in class after taking all online classes. This professor took her time with me to help me get through this class due me not being great at math and having not took it for a while. She was patient and gave me a lot of advice as well. She has been one of the best professors I've ever had!
So easy of a class and a decent teacher. She babied us and would always complain about anything when it was unnecessary. Class is an easy A+ if you do the practice tests.
This was her first semester teaching stats and her classes outperformed the others which says a lot. Just do the practice tests a few times before each test and you'll get an A. Also attend class, most people who didn't pass skipped it often. She's caring and will go over each test with you and will also give you back some points if needed
This was her 1st year teaching stats and she was AMAZING! She made class interactive with a collaborative note-taking style rather than just reading a PowerPoint. She explained every concept thoroughly and ensured we knew what we should focus on for exams. Probably the best prof in the math department.
Best math teacher ever! This was her first year teaching statistics and she did an amazing job. She made math fun, and the way she explains concepts is super easy to understand. She's accessible, and always posts helpful resources on Canvas. She makes you want to try your best, and you can tell she really cares about her students. Highly recommend.
Really good teacher I would take her again. The class was a little disorganized at times like quiz answers being wrong or parts of assigned homework being wrong but I think a lot of that was beyond her control. It is very easy to get an A in her class if you attend class and the TA help sessions. 10/10
Great Professor! I've always struggled with math but Bieske is the first teacher I've had who has made sense to me. Great lectures and communicates very well. She outlines each exam before you take them and says exactly how many questions from each chapter will be on them. Practice exams for extra credit are almost identical to the real things.
Great professor, a lot of extra credit was given. The tests were not too difficult, just study the guides she provides. People made Calculus [I] sound difficult but taking this class made it not seem as bad, still tough, just study.
Professor Bieske helped me so much. This class is one of the hardest that you can take. But Ms Bieske made class fun and is the reason I passed this class. I really struggle with math so I was nervous but she sat down with me to go over things I didn't understand or questions I missed in exams. If you have to take a difficult math class, take her.
She's just great. Patient, hilarious, and really wants to help her students succeed. Highly recommend.
She was an amazing professor because eventhough she is really smart she can easily dumb down the material. There is a peerleading connected to this class but she revealed that you can either attend class or peerleading. The exams are on Saturdays but they are supposed to change that. No math lab. Homework is all on pearson with a week to finish.
I could not give higher praises to a professor. You will need to attend the lectures, pay attention, do the reviews but she makes it so worth it! Professor Bieske truly cares about the wellbeing of her students, and it shows through the work she puts into helping you understand the material and making sure you have everything you need to succeed.
If you're into music (specifically Taylor Swift) you will love her and if not... good luck! She uses pre-made notes which takes some getting used to but is overall not the worst thing when you are studying after class.
Prof. Bieske was AMAZING! She makes everything super simple with her notes and does a very good job of explaining the materials and concepts. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities and provides good review exams to prepare. She is hilarious - I would take a course with her again in a heartbeat!
So funny and understands the perspective of students. Fair with assignments, tests, ect. Would 100% take a class with her again
She is a very funny and kind person, explains things well in lectures and does everything in her power to make sure students do well.
I LOVE HER! She teaches from her heart and truly has a passion for what she does. She takes her time to thoroughly explain everything. She gives extra credit before each exam which had huge impacts on the overall grade. If you are taking STATS I would 100% pick her. She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is so funny and makes class fun.
Professor Bieske is hands down the best teacher I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. The class itself has a decent chunk of content but Professor Bieske seems to make it all seem so easy through her lectures so definitely go to them! She's a very understanding and wonderful human being and I'd 100% recommend taking her class!
If you have the chance, you should absolutely have Ms. Bieske as your professor. I have never had a teacher be more engaging, caring, funny, yet teach so well. I'm really not a big fan of math, but you will begin to understand even the hardest concepts with her. SHE IS AWESOME (and probably reading this, so hi Ms Bieske!)
You can easily tell that Mrs. Bieske enjoys teaching and always has energy during her lectures. Course does have 4 in person exams that require studying but she gives us study guides that definitely prepares us for the exams.
Good professor if you hate math - a lot of flexibility, extra credit, and busywork. She teaches to get through the material, not to get you to actually understand or like it. Also the coordinator sucks, imo all the tests have stupid rubrics. Even if you get something right and explain your work you get points off for not doing their way.
Amber seems tough but she will pull through with extra credit in the end. You will not fail this course. I would recommend really focusing on studying the practice exams because they are very similar to the exams. the only downside is the final being from 8-10 pm.
One of the best professors. She really cares about her students and loves what she is doing. Moreover, at the end of the semester, she gave us tons of extra credits for solving practice exams and wearing pyjamas for the exam.
all i can say is that she is a amazing teacher and is the goat.
Overall a good class, Bieske gives plenty of EC opportunities, and examples are clear. She even does demos for calculators. Homework is done online through Pearson, class notes are posted, and exams have practice exams (study guides) to prepare with. If you go to class, pay attention, and learn the basics, you'll do just fine.
she was a nice professor, but hard to access if you have class during office hours. had opportunity for extra credit. the exam replace, homework drops, and quiz drops really helped my grade.
I LOVE HER! She made class worth it and there was so much extra credit and dropped homework and quizzes and it was so easy.
Amber is one of the best professor the university offers; and that is a fact. She is amazing at her job, and it shows in her class average and how enthusiastic she is about her job and the success of her students. Amber empathizes with us and gives us many free passes (such as a free 100% on a quiz or an extra drop on a homework). Thanks queen!
This class was really challenging for me but she made it as understandable and simple as possible. She really looked out for us through the whole semester and made sure that we knew what was coming with exams and looked out for our grades when there were complications. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Professor Bieske, if you're reading this I love you! You are such a kind woman and really helped me succeed
Professor Bieske is one of the best professors at USF. She looks out for her students and is more than fair when it comes to assignments, due dates, exams, etc. I enjoyed attending her lectures and I would recommend attending them to any of her future students. She keeps students engaged while teaching the material. I 1000% recommend her.
She's a great professor. Wants the best for her students, is funny, and lectures on the content in an engaging and helpful way.
Very easy compared to calculus. Do not get lazy and do the homework personally. Second test was hardest. Lots of extra funny. Very funny and caring. She lectures using simple vocab.
Very easy class, but get ready to hear about her personal life and too much information about Taylor Swift. She cares more about the work on your test and doing it her way rather than having the correct answer on the sheet, her exams are almost the same as the practice exam she gives you on the modules page.
I've never been good at math or gotten an A in a math class and I have a 98%. She makes the material easy to learn and plus she's super fun and class is entertaining. Attendance does matter. If you show up and pay attention you'll pass tbh. Multiple EC opportunities + she's very forgiving with assignments. She genuinely wants you to pass the class.
Statistics can and will be difficult, but Bieske is the professor you want to guide you through the subject. She is incredibly generous with extra credit and her students consistently out preform the other classes. Bieske is an engaging lecturer and gives you all the tools needed to succeed.
I really enjoyed Professor Bieske, she was so amazing. SO easy, she gives so many freebies, it is so easy to get an A in her class. Hw asssingments and quizzes are very short, max questions I had was 15 questions LOL. EC opportunity before every exam. Look at her notes (side details, margins) for exam questions.
Amazing at explaining things, makes the learning process very easy. If you just show up to every class and take the notes, you will be set for the entirety of the course. I've never liked math but Professor Bieske made me love doing math. Highly recommend taking her class, hands down one of the best professors I've ever had.
Professor Bieske is one of those individuals that was born to teach, she will take the time out of her day to make sure that her students both understand and succeed in the class. She is kind, optimistic, and beyond compassionate about everything that she does. She would do anything in her power to help if you get the opportunity take her class!
Ms. Bieske is truly one of the best professors I have had. She cares about her students. Its hard to fail this class. Her homework is online but its super easy. Our final project was also SUPER EASY. TAKE THIS ANY COURSES WITH HER SHES THE BEST!!
i enjoyed taking classes with professor Bieske. I took two math classes with her and as someone who really struggles with math she made everything make so much sense and actually helped me learn and apply what I am teaching. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunity and attendance is mandatory but its a class you actually want to attend.
Mandatory lectures, but they were always important. Her test reviews are very helpful, and there are many opportunities to improve your grade throughout the semester with extra credit. One of the best professors I have ever had.
As someone who sucks at math, this class was great! Her teaching style is able to match learners of any level and she was SO funny. Looked forward to every class I had with her. Would absolutely recommend her for anyone worried that their math level may be lower than the content of the course. She is available after class and happy to help you.
Best math teacher ever!
Professor Bieske is the best math professor I have ever had. She made statistics easy and she is a fantastic lecturer! Her lectures are clear and concise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Take her for stats! She is a great teacher and a great person. She does take attendance which helps your grade if you go to class. It can be easy to fall behind, but if you go to class you will be totally fine! 3 exams, a final, and an online project. She prepared us very well for all the exams. 10/10!
The most caring instructor! Had class groupme, extra credit if assignments completed before deadline, take-home quizzes, there were tests where I barely got any questions right but with partial credit I still managed to pass the tests. She really lets the students decide how the class goes. I hate math but she made it okay. Best math teacher ever!
Professor Bieske makes stats easy and fun. Attend her engaging lectures, use unstuckstudy AI for quick study prep, and you'll ace this class. Mandatory attendance, but worth it for her clear explanations and extra credit opportunities.
I can't wait to get out of this class. I hate hearing her speak she's so annoying and seems to be in a bad mood pretty consistently. There is a lot of homework/ quizzes/ exams and an online project. Worst professor I have had. Oh yeah and she gets ticked off really easily.
Take her class! She is so kind and caring about her students. She respond to emails quickly and is a really great professor. She makes math fun and understands that not everyone is good at math. I would not be passing class if she wasn't my teacher. Thank you prof Bieske
If you struggle in Math classes take this course. Amber is considerate and tries to make sure each student is successful. Most of the comments on here giving her a bad rating are due to them not trying in class. She goes above and beyond but it is up to you to study and go to class. She breaks all of the material down and gives in class notes!
Best Professor/class for math credit. Homework is easy and given a good study guide for your exams. She drops grades. Impossible to not get at least a B if you try a little bit. Easy to get an A if you try. Took her again for MGF1131 because of how easy she makes math. Anyone complaining about her didn't show up to class or do work please take her
Im an art major & hate math Prof Bieske is the BEST math teacher ever! her lessons are clear & she engages w all students. She recognizes who puts in effort and supports who's struggleing .I am taking her stats course next semester. HIGHLY recommend her, especially if you're lacking confidence in math. Attend, pay attention, & you'll do great!!!!!!
This is one of those subjects where the professor you have will impact your ability to understand the material and do well in the class. Prof. Bieske is amazing at explaining statistics, and her sections consistently score better than the others. She cares about her students and is reasonable with dropping quizzes and such. Just do the work/attend!
Bieske is great at her job and cares about her students. However, if you're not a strong test taker, be aware that her graders can be very strict. You must show your work clearly, or your answer may be marked wrong, and you only earn 1 point for a correct answer. Doing good on the homework won't get you far, for anyone who struggles with tests.
Professor Bieske is one of the best math teachers you can take here. She is so funny and genuinely cares about her students and fights for us. Plus, Her lectures and notes are easy to follow and are posted. However, don't take advantage of this, my class got on her bad side and extra credit and attendance grades were taken from us as punishment.
She goes over hw problems during lecture. Posts notes. Weekly hw & smart lab quizzes (unlimited attempts). Gives an identical question by question exam study guide. Two attempts for exams. One exam is dropped. The resources are there for you to get an A if you put in the work. She likes to yap tho so we were behind & lecture pacing is always off.
Professor Bieske is so kind, fun, and caring about her students. I have her for Pre-calc, and although Pearson was a pain to work with, she always stood up for us and took time to ensure that we were okay. I would recommend her to everyone who is not mathematically gifted, she's knowledgeable and most caring among all the MAC1147 professors
She's my favorite prof ever. I love her classes and her vibe. She's really hilarious and chill. She's also care about her students and always wants the best option for students. Her lectures are easy to understand. I would like to take her again.
Good class
Makes countless mistakes during her lectures, and rarely catches them unless pointed out by a student. Very strict about NO GROUPME, NO GROUP CHATS, NO STUDY GROUPS. She uses a "word of the day" as attendance and worries far too much that her students will spread her "word" to others, therefore she completely bans ANY FORM OF STUDY GROUPS.
Ignore the bad reviews they are just mad they got caught trying to get a free grade. She's totally fine with study groups just not sharing the word of the day in it which is a free quiz grade if you're present. She actively fought for our case all semester trying to make things easier for us. She breaks a lot of the math down to be digestible.
Professor Bieske is awesome! Her class is not difficult at all, and she truly cares about your understanding of the material.
I took Prof. Bieske for MGF 1131, and 100% recommend her and the class. Lowest test grade is dropped, which is important because exams are worth 60%. She posts the notes after each lecture, but I would still advise going. She is easy to like, and from someone who is not the strongest at math, I find her easy to understand. Exams are also all MC.
She's a great professor, pretty good teaching and great humor, her office hour is a bit janky but she can work with you outside of office hour. She also advocate for us a lot, managed to drop a couple of assignment forced on by the smart labs folks. She however have homework through pearson, otherwise she wouldn't have given so much assignment...
This was my first-ever introduction to calculus, and Ms. Bieske did the most incredible job. She teaches in a way that ANYONE can understand. If I could take her for the rest of my college math, I would do it in a heartbeat. She makes the unit circle fun and always advocates for her students in times of stress. If you have her as an option, do it!
She is so funny and makes the lecture interesting. She provides note skeletons so taking notes is super easy and helpful if you pay attention. All the tests were multiple choice and she lets you drop one at the end of the semester. Attendance is mandatory and this class does have a lot of homework but it doesn't take very long, maybe 20-30min
I absolutely love Professor Bieske! She makes her lectures entertaining and she's really funny. I love all her lectures and she makes the material understandable. She's a huge advocate for her students and really wants them to do well. 10/10 would recommend!
Best stats professor ever. I do not like math but she made her lectures fun and engaging. Very good at explaining concepts and genuinely wants you to succeed. One of the best professors at USF give her a raise!!!
My first time taking Statistics and she was such a good professor!! So so helpful especially considering the hurricanes that occurred this semester. Just do the practice tests a couple of times and you're guaranteed an A on all the tests. I 100% reccommend her!!
If you like a teacher that picks apart your exams and takes points away for how you do your work then this is the prof for you! Looking forward to the end of this class more and more every day.
If you're choosing a math professor, choose her. Lectures were amazing and easy to understand; she never made it difficult for the students. This class does take alot of hours to complete assignments; not her fault.
She was a truly amazing math teacher. She explains things in a way that are comprehensible. She also cares for her students as if they're her kids. 10/10 recommend.
i loved this class with prof bieske. she provides blank note templates and fills them out during lectures. she seems to care a lot about her students. her exams were very similar to the practice exams. attendance was graded in the beginning of the semester but towards the end it wasn't. i would definitely take her class again!
Professor Bieske was an amazing professor. She genuinely cares about the success of her students and if you show up to the lecture helps you understand. She has notes premade for every chapter and her practice exams set you up well for her exams. Anyone complaining probably did not show up to class.
A phenomenal, caring, and extremely patient professor. If I could have her as my professor for literally every other course I need to take I would be first in line to sign up. You won't regret taking her at all! Amazing lectures, helpful practice exams, and clear grading rubric. Those who gave poor reviews didn't attend class and only complained
Bieske is absolutely amazing. Course material is easy to understand when she explains it. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Attendance isn't mandatory but she gives out attendance words for extra credit. She's so incredibly patient, sweet, and funny. She really cares for her students and I would 100% recommend you take her, you won't regret it :)
Prof. Bieske made math very easy. Her class was well structured and there are many resources given to improve your grade. The class is uniformly structured by the mathematics department however, she always advocated for her students best interest. Be prepared to attend lectures as she does things her own way sometimes rather than by the textbook.
Bieske is everything you could ask for in a professor. She truly cares about her students, always listens when there's an issue, and is fair in every way. The class itself is a breeze, just listen to the lectures and submit all your homework and it's an easy A. Truly, highly recommend her!!
Amber Bieske is everything you could ask for in a professor. She truly cares for her students, listens when there's a problem, and fairly assesses/fixes it. The class itself is a breeze--just pay attention to the lectures and submit all your homework and it's an easy A. Truly--highly recommend!
Such a great professor! She makes the topics so easy to digest and tells you exactly what you need to know on exams which are most of your grade. Honestly, it's hard to do badly with the amount of extra points she gives. Literally just show up for like most lectures and do the homework. She also does practice exam review before each exam!
One of the best professors I have ever had. No complaints at all!
I've never seen someone seen as excited about precalculus as she has. She seemed so cheery all the time and would make jokes whilst teaching the material.
Prof Bieske was quite honestly the best math teacher I've ever had. I've always hated math and been terrible at it but Prof Bieske has such a wonderful teaching style, I always looked forward to coming to class. Well loved by students and for good reason!
I'm about to be a senior here at USF, and she is by far one of my favorite professors so far. Most college lectures are hard to sit through, but she makes them enjoyable. I love her teaching style and sense of humor, would definitely take again!
Great lectures, keeps you engaged. Practice exams help a lot.
Professor Bieske is amazing, she wants all of her students to do well. I did not study for exams, just going over the practice exam was enough to do very well. This class was so easy.
this class was honestly so easy. She is super funny and makes her material engaging. You have like online homework and have to do smart lab hours but it seriously was so chill. I would definitely take again.
This is the best math professor EVER! She is super nice and she always advocated for us to have more time to do assignments or to just change things she thought would be too difficult to complete. Lectures are not boring and she does lots of examples and goes to the smart lab if you ever need extra help outside of class!
She's a good professor but a bleep about late assignments. She really could care less about your health even with a note. So if you wanna take her do so, she's great and funny, but don't think for a second she'll care if you get run over and a doctor brought you back from the dead.
Bieske is great! She actually helped me understand statistics and made sure I succeeded on tests. She is funny and makes math interesting!
i love professor Bieske! she gives out extra credit & will drop low homework & quizzes, she tries to make her lectures as basic as possible even for those who struggle with math like myself. she will even double check the TA's work herself if you believe you were graded wrong. you can tell she loves her job which makes her a even better professor
Honestly, she is the best professor I've ever had. She reminds me of the awkward mom who tries to be super cool in front of her kids. She cares for all her students, but don't lie to her. She is super nice and makes math super easy. Mandatory attendance because it's cumulative, if you miss a lecture, you may fail to understand, and it snowballs.
Awesome teacher, funny, caring, and made learning math fun. Her office is super cool, she gives out stickers. She gives you so many reminders on when HW and weekly quizzes are (like 4 question check on learning quizzes about what we learned that week). If you fail, it's because you didn't show up or do your HW.
Bieske is the BEST professor for stats. Period. She is so funny, sweet, and truly cares about her students. She makes class fun, explaining all the concepts thoroughly and providing useful tips/tricks to remember them on the test. Also, she gives practice tests that are harder than the actual exams! :)
One of the very few professors I've had that truly care about their students. She gives you everything you need to succeed in the course and makes everything extremely straightforward. She truly just wants each of her students to succeed.
Best professor ever. She's super funny and explains rough material in an easy to understand way. 10 extra credit opportunities per exam and there's one online project (super easy) that also counts for an exam grade. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN! And make sure you go to class because the material piles up from beginning to end and ngl it can be fast paced
Great teacher, couldnt be an easier class. Gives a ton of extra credit. Attendance is somewhat mandatory, it stopped being towards the end. Overall extremely nice, easy teacher. Not much homework, exams are very clear along with good reviews. Take this class with her.
She was an amazing teacher! I was super nervous about math but she was very helpful and understanding. She has a really good energy for teaching and makes everyone feel comfortable in class. Super grateful for teachers like this.
I absolutely loved Professor Bieske. She teaches so well and wants us all to succeed. I recommend taking her for Statistics!
She is the teacher to take for statistics. That being said, the class itself is extremely easy and can be self-taught. Beware of assignments. Gives way too much extra credit. Almost 80% of the kids who take and finish this class get an A.
Prof Bieske is one of the best professors I ever had!Her lectures are very helpful. There is always 10 points extra credit on each exam, and an extra credit assignment before each exam. She makes statistics easy as the practice exam is just like the actual exams. Graded on 3 exams, final exam, project, homeworks, and quizzes. TAKE HER!
The best professor you could take. She was incredibly kind and willing to help. She offers numerous extra credit opportunities and genuinely does everything she can to help you succeed. Amazing professor!
Please take this professor! Please note that you only need to try to aim for an A and not procrastinate!
Her lectures are interesting, she does everything she can to prepare you for exams, and you can tell she actually cares about her students and their wellbeing. Take her if you can!
I had her for my summer class, and she was amazing. She is super funny, didn't take much attendance, and when she did, she would let us know what dates she would be taking attendance. The practice exam she gives us is very similar to the actual test, and the final is super easy as well. She is an amazing teacher who wants her students to succeed.
Professor Bieske is amazing. She makes math actually enjoyable and digestible; I actually look forward to her class, which I have never said about a math class ever. She understands us and is genuinely so fun to listen to. Just pay attention to the practice quizzes and show up, and it's an easy A.
Made statistics very easy. Notes are easy to follow. Hard to fail exams. Just have to go to class and give effort.
best professor ever
She is the best stats professor at USF. Compared to Sanders, her teaching is the BEST and makes everything super easy to understand. The practice exams are exactly like the exams, and attendance is mandatory for her lectures. She is very nice and a lenient grader. Stats is a hard subject, but she definitely made it easier than it is.
She was a great professor and cared for every single one of her students. She always wanted us to pass a test and would help us so much to make sure we understood. If I could have this teacher for every single class, it would make my life so much easier! TAKE HER!!
She actually knows how to teach math and doesn't just read off a power point slide. Very fair and caring towards students too! She has practice exams for actual exams that are the same just with different numbers. There are two projects that will def help ur grade as they're super easy.
Take her for stats over Sanders if you can, stats is easy but she's better at teaching the material in an easy to understand way and gives practice exams that are 1:1 to the actual exam. Has two “projects” that take maybe 2 hours each. Drops a bunch of HWs, quizzes, and participation grades too, like 4 each
Best lectures, kind, and really cares about students. Take her for STA2023!! Her lectures are easy to understand, even though attendance is mandatory - got to the lectures, it's worth it.
Professor Bieske is one of the sweetest professors I've had so far. She makes the content so easy and gives so much practice. So many extra credit opportunities and multiple grades dropped. She's so friendly when it comes to asking questions and going to office hours. I wish she could teach all my courses. She's truly amazing at what she does!!!
The best professor I have had in a long time. She made statistics so easy and understandable! I took this class in person and it is so worth it! Way better than any video lectures. She prepares you very well for tests. You cannot fail if you try.
