She is the worst professor I have ever had by far. Made us buy an Ebook that was trash. Had so many errors. She uploaded lecture videos super late and we couldn't just rely on the book to complete our weekly homework and quizzes so sometimes I would not be able to complete assignments until the weekends. She had excuses for everything.
This was the worst class I've ever taken. She follows a book that doesn't even have the right answers. I saw a tutor for her class and they were getting frustrated because when we would answer a question correctly, it would mark it as wrong. She would never post assignments on time or respond to emails.
I would NOT take this professor again. She makes it very hard to learn. She does not post lectures or assignments on time and gives you little time to prepare. She doesn't explain anything and does not communicate well. Don't even bother reading her syllabus or the calendar, she never followed either of them.
By far the worst class I've ever taken. All assignments were posted late. Takes weeks to respond to emails. She made it extremely hard to learn, doesn't explain anything correctly.
it was Physics 2, she always posted videos late for everything, I primed hard before the semester started it's the reason why I passed, I pretty much was already familiar with the material, she wasn't clear in lectures, when she would do problems, she would basically just run through, not really good at explaining. very unorganized.
It is already a hard class, it calc based so yes hard. But she give two practice exams before each test. She allows you to have a cheat sheet. ANYTHING you want as long as it fits the page.Practice problems are key. Office hours have helped a lot. It's an okay class. Weekly homework and quiz worth 20% of your grade. Final exam is only worth 10%.
The material itself was pretty challenging at first, but once you do all assignments that she provides you get the hang of it. I like that she offers extra credit on the exams, and makes it known that we can ask her anything we don't understand. Overall, I think she's a great professor.
The course itself is extremely difficult, however, Professor McKey does her best to push students further and help them understand the topics clearly. She is caring and sweet. Truly one of the best professors I have had during my college experience.
Physics itself is hard but, Professor McKey offers many ways to be successful. Strict deadlines, class consists of weekly quiz, homework, problem sets, and lab activity. Posts practice exams set up exactly like actual exam, allows cheat sheet. Gives back 10% of points with exam corrections. Great professor, definitely would take her again.
Professor McKey will help anyone learn whatever it is you need help with, with patience, empathy, and encouragement. As long as you ASK, she will help you. As long as you are paying attention to lecture and taking notes (she gives you blank notes to fill which are great), then asking questions in person, you will be good.
She is very helpful in class and is good at answering any question you need, she offers corrections for tests and her practice exams are very helpful! I did very well in her class and she gives work every single day and you have to work with your classmates for labs but the class is very insightful
There is a lot of work to do, homework, problem sets, and labs that we do as a group. Professor McKey is very helpful and answers any questions we have. The lecture is online, and is quite long. Personally I wasn't a fan of how she does lecture, but she is always there in person to clarify any questions. Overall nice professor, Physics is just hard
Professor McKey is one of the best professors I have taken by far. I was scared of physics at first but she made it easy to understand and comprehend. She answered any questions I had in a timely manner as well as she responded to my emails promptly. If there is something you don't understand she seats there and explains it to you.
Professor Mckey is amazing. She has a clear grading criteria and gives great feedback. She deeply cares for her students and does everything to make sure they pass her class. She is super nice, funny, and also offers really good snacks. As long as you pay attention, do all of the weekly homework assignments and quizzes you will pass this class.
good professor. good class. now I understand and love physics. thanks to her
Physics is hard. She's a great professors who gives you many chances to be successful in the course.
Professor McKey actually cares about her students. She gives you so many opportunities to pass her class. As long as you understand the concept, show up to class, and do your homework you'll pass. Take this from someone who has terrible testing anxiety (I can fail a test that's all about myself) and I SUCK at math.
Professor Mckey is a wonderful professor and engages with her students and provides amazing help.
If you don't have a decent grasp of algebra, you'll need to put in more effort. Professor McKey provides everything you need to succeed, but you have to put in the work as well. Professor McKey makes a big effort to communicate with students in order to help them learn, but if you still are unable to grasp the material, tutoring is helpful.
Prof Mckey is wonderful, i love the way she sets up her class and helps us understand the material. This class is more of a hands on with your group but she will be there to answer any questions needed. You are sure to pass this class as long as you try your best and ask her for help she is very easy going. Not a lot of homework aswell.
Professor McKey was amazing! She genuinely cares about her students and you can tell she is passionate about teaching physics. The material is hard but her great energy keeps you motivated throughout the semester.
Professor McKey was outstanding! She genuinely cares about her students, and her passion for teaching physics shines through in every class. Her enthusiasm makes learning truly engaging.
Professor Mckey is overall a great professor. If you aren't familiar with algreba, this class will be difficult. The only thing is that the homework she assigns doesn't correlate with the things we learn in class, which makes it hard to complete and we get homework every week. But, she is very understanding and will answer any questions you have.
Physics is tough, but the course is well-organized with weekly homework, quizzes, problem sets, and labs. Focus on problem sets and practice exams to do well. Cheat sheets are allowed, and you can earn up to 10% extra by doing exam corrections. The professor is nice, and her structure is easy to follow.
I'm currently still taking the class and have a B+ but I believe I can bring it up to a A+ with what remains of the class (about a month). Good lectures and provides notes so you don't have to write while trying to learn a new topic, unless that's what you're used to. Really no problems, good class.
Professor Mckey was a caring professor. If you plan to take this class, be prepared to do a lot of work outside of school. She does lectures in class, but might not cover everything so you have to study to be successful. She also does a lot of labs, which I don't like but you just have to deal with it. This class requires a lot of time! be prepared
Professor McKey was a great teacher in general but specifically for me. When I don't understand something I have to be walked through the exact steps, no matter how small. This professor is patient, understanding and extremely helpful. Also, she's very approachable. I know a lot of professors can seem scary but she's friendly and always kind.
Professor McKey is one of the best professors I've ever had! She is very understanding and accommodating to students and really cares about success in her classroom. If you ask for help, she goes over the whole question with you from start to finish and makes sure you understand the material well. I am excited to take her again for physics 1302!
Professor McKey lectures online were easy to follow and understand. For lab most of the work was done as a group. If you do not understand a concept, she is there to help you. All I can say is she is one of the best professors I have taken.
Professor Mckee is very understanding and encouraging. She has no problem answering questions to make sure everyone is on the same page. The class is very collaborative so you are forced to be in groups during labs. Other than the heavy homework assignments the class is easy but at the same time demanding.
A good professor. However, the questions on exams, homework, or labs aren't very clear sometimes, and I suggest asking her questions. The online Homework questions are really confusing, more than the exams... the examples are alright in lectures just need to be more complicated in my opinion to help students tackle harder questions.
Professor McKey is an amazing professor! If you ever get confused, she will gladly help you out. Attendance is highly recommended and required because we learn a lot during lectures and use those lectures to do our problem sets and lab reports. One con from this professor is that she sometimes takes a while to read and respond to an email.
Professor McKey is definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. She's smart, funny, and cares about her students and the course content. She's always there for you no matter your questions and wants to help you every single time. There's a lot of things due every week: Problem Sets, quizzes, Labs, Chapter homeworks. But overall AMAZING!!
Professor McKey is great! She explains things in different ways. She will go over things in her office until you understand. The homework helps a lot towards your grade. She also gives students a chance to get a certain precent back on the exam grade. She is available outside of class. I wish she was teaching UP 2 next semester.
Shes very understanding and forgiving unlike other professors. I would take her again but she hasn't been selected to teach University Physics 2.
I would take her again and she's very forgiving and understanding. Shes great and I'd take her again if I could.
I recommend her to anyone who is looking to take physics. You have homework assignments and problem sets that are very helpful towards exams. Labs are done in groups. She does give extra credit when she can. Professor McKey is kind and understanding towards her students and will do what is necessary to help you do well in her class.
Professor Mckey is one of the kindest professors I have ever had. She is nice and makes the class easier even though physics is a hard concept to understand. She provides extra credit for all the tests including the final. Something I wish would be different would be the notes though; it felt as if the info went from one ear out to the other.
Professor McKey is one of the most genuine professors I have ever met. She will ensure you know the subject well--providing additional resources if you need it, or if she thinks you do. Her exam formatting is very easy to get used to, and her exam correction system makes it so that you don't have to worry about getting an A, but instead to learn.
Professor McKey was a great instructor. If you struggle with physics, this is the professor to take. Not only does she make it really easy to understand the curriculum and encourage questions, but she also offers lots of extra credit.
McKey is a kind and fair prof, she made it easy for me to understand the more challenging chapters; if you have a question, she will encourage you to ask it. By the end, everyone was engaging in class which is really something to consider. I would like to add, if you want a more profound understanding of the subject watch videos when possible
Professor Mckey is awesome. She makes this hard subject look easy. You will have 4 Exams, Final, HW, Quizzes, and Lab Reports. She provides 2 practice exams before each test, allows cheat sheet, corrections for a percentage points back on your test. She cares about her students and is willing to help. I wish she was teaching UP2 next semester.
Professor McKey is one of the best professors I've taken. She's always willing to assist if you're struggling with a concept. Lab work is done collaboratively in groups, and the homework and problem sets are excellent preparation for exams. Professor McKey is compassionate, supportive, and genuinely one of my favorite professors.
Professor McKey was awesome. She made physics seem easy. I loved her class and would highly recommend her. She did lots of study guide and they were pretty similar to the test. Everything was due on Friday and was easy to do. The only way to fail is if you don't do your work.
Professor McKey has been my favorite professor so far. The only way for you to fail this class is by not coming or by not doing the work. She explains everything so well and gives you every opportunity to pass. Would 100% recommend.
Professory Mckey's way of teaching really helped me understand physics. I have struggled a lot with physics but her class explained it so much easier!!
The class is challenging with a heavy workload, including note-taking, homework, quizzes, problem sets, and labs. Lectures feel rushed, making it hard to grasp concepts. Fewer homework questions and shorter notes would help. Despite the difficulty, the professor was always supportive and acknowledged the challenges of the course.
One of the most caring professors I've ever taken classes with. She advocates for her students more than I ever seen any other professor do. If you wanna get your grade from a B to an A the secret is to go to her office hours and make sure you're understanding all the concepts thoroughly. she gives extra credit for test corrections, which is awesom
professor McKey is an amazing professor her way of teaching made University physics 1 understandable. Although this is a tough course her teaching made it easier. Her lecture notes are straight forward and easy to follow. strongly recommend her!!!
There are labs and homework assignments that need to be done but they can be easy if you know the formulas. On exam week she brings snacks and drinks for us while we study before the test. She only teaches Physics 1 for now, but I hope she will soon have Physics 2 as well. Highly recommend but remember to study. Overall, an awesome professor.
Professor McKey's teaching style was generally effective in explaining key physics concepts. However, lectures on the kinetic theory of gases and the first law of thermodynamics skimmed over some crucial topics. Despite this, McKey provides extra credit opportunities and a fair chance to succeed.
Professor Mckey is an amazing physics professor. I took her hybrid class and thought it would be super difficult because of the lecture but she is so good at explaining everything and if you need help she always lets you know her office hours.
Professor McKey explains every concept well and easy to understand. She has 4 exams and a final. DO EVERY PRACTICE EXAM. The practice exams are very helpful and is about the same difficulty as the actual exam. After the exam, she'll give you the opportunity to get back 10% of your points on the exam by doing corrections.
I highly recommend taking PHYS 1420 with Professor McKey! She makes sure that you understand the lectures, along with giving extra credit. Stay on top of all assignments it will benefit you. Also staying a day ahead of the course work. By the end of the semester you will meet a lot of people due to lab rotations, as it benefits your learning.
Professor McKey explains concepts well and make it easy to understand. She gives 3 exams and a final. For the first 3, she gives you the opportunity to earn back 10% of your points by doing corrections. DO the practice exams and review, they're very similar to the exam and it's about the same difficulty.
An amazing professor who is very understanding and caring. One of the best professors I've ever had and 10/10 would take this professor again but not for Physics (I don't like math). Due dates are somewhat weird but it's always consistent. Groups are also a part of this class that will change throughout the semester.
She teaches the lectures in a easy to understand way. She also lets us know the times in which she'll be in her office if you need help with anything. She doesn't take any late work, but she gives us plenty of time to complete the assignments. When she's teaching, you can tell that she genuinely enjoys it. I would HIGHLY recommend taking her class.
Professor Mckey is one of the best professors I ever had. She's very respectful, caring, funny, and patient. She makes physics interesting and very clear to understand. All her assignments are very helpful when it comes to taking exams. She also is very helpful and responds to email fairly quick. I highly recommend her class. She's the very best!!!
Super kind professor that offers extra credit, always available for office hours and if you go she'll help you find the answers before it's over for assignments. A good balance of personal assignments and group work, with test holding the most impact. I truly don't think I'd pass a physics class if she wasn't teaching it!! Take her if you can!

Professor McKey is very knowledgeable & helpful. She has everything on Blackboard organized & easy to follow. We are given 3 assignments each week. They're not challenging if you focus & work with your group. On exams, you get to create a "cheat sheet." She has extra credit opportunities as well. I highly recommend taking this course with her!
Professor McKey is very helpful and attentive to her students. She cares about helping you learn and is easily accessible outside of class for extra help.
Professor McKey is amazing!! Very vocal and helpful during class while working on assignments. There is a lot of math but she breaks all the material down for you for better understanding. There is room for extra credit. She is very sweet and accommodating!
I would definitely take this class again. I took this class face-to-face because I do struggle in science and Mrs.Mckey breaks down everything if you need help with any of the work and she does give extra credit. She is very dedicated to helping students and is an amazing teacher. Overall I enjoyed this class and had a great experience!
I would definitely take this class again. I took this class in person because i do struggle with science classes and Mrs.Mckey broke everything down. Plus gives extra credit for exams and will work with you for any late assignments . She is a dedicated teacher and cares for her students. Overall this class was great and i had an amazing experience!
As long as you pay attention in class you will pass this class. She will go through the problems step by step with you if you ask for help. Also, are allowed to have cheat sheets for exams. Love her
As long as you watch her lecture videos and go over her chapter notes you will succeed in the class. She provides reviews for each exam which really helps to study for the exam. She goes over questions on the problem sets during class which helps better understand the material. She's the best physics professor love her !
Overall this class was good! I will say I do wish her lectures would have been in person rather than online through videos, but overall I really can not complain too much. She was always willing to work through any questions that we had. She gives good reviews and pretty much sets you up for success!
Professor. McKey was an amazing teacher, she was very helpful when it came to our assignments. During our class period, she would walk around and check on everyone making sure nobody was drowning. She gives the best material to study with, as long as you are present and pay attention you will strive. She is very compassionate towards every student.
Professor McKey is an amazing physics professor! She helps answer any and every question that you could have. The class does have a good amount of homework, but if you stay caught up it is completely manageable. She makes sure that nobody is falling behind and always helps.
very understanding, except with late work
The professor Is super easy going and Very helpful. Super sweet and nice, I would take her class again!
She's a great professor, very kind and caring. I would recommend taking her class. Her class is mainly group projects or do your own work. Other than that, I feel comfortable in her class!
Professor Amber helped a group of mine to study for exams, she made time for us even with her very busy schedule. Her teaching is very clear, she walks with you and helps you understand the subject on a conceptual level. Her class is very organized and doable, although seeming to be a little fast paced, it is an honors class so thats to be expected
This class was difficult for me, but Professor McKey made me feel comfortable communicating any question or concern I had. There are group projects, quizzes, homework and problem sets for each chapter. NO late exceptions. As long as you complete your work on time, study the book (if you're struggling), and ask any questions, you can pass the class!
Amazing lectures. Cares about students & is lenient, but no late work. She post's pre-written notes to follow along during class. webassign quizzes/hw, worksheets, & 4 exams with a final (similar to worksheets & notes & prev exams as posted). you can't fail her class unless you try to fail. Office hours are great. 10/10 recommend for physics l & ll
If you have the opportunity to take her course, PLEASE take it with her. Her course is designed to make you pass, but you will fail if you don't put in enough work. McKey often gives extra credit and gives you the option to make test corrections. Homework was not accepted if it was late.
She seemed promising at first, but it became clear she was overwhelmed—new mom, PhD student, and teaching. Her “notes” were not as helpful, but just test reviews were. Class was easy to pass, but rushed and unstructured by the end
TAKE HER CLASS! Personally this class was hard because math and me do not mix, but Professor McKey always available to help answer questions. She takes the time to explain things and gives you plenty of opportunities for extra credit and test corrections. She is fair and understanding. By far one of my favorite professors!!!
Loved her she was very easy to understand!
I took her over the summer as a 5 week course... Best decision ever!! her lectures are so easy to understand and if you need extra help she is always available, i was super worried about taking physics cause I'm horrible with numbers but i loved it and her.
she was such a nice and funny professor. very understanding and helpful!! will miss having her as a professor :,)!!
AMAZING!!! She was super helpful and understanding. Anytime I had an issue or needed help with anything she would do whatever she could to help. I highly recommend!
Professor Mckey is an amazing professor. She gives extra credit opportunities and test corrections. She has a “ask professor mckey” tab in blackboard for any question outside of class.
She is an amazing professor. Her class is very manageable as long as you participate and stay engaged. She is extremely responsive to emails, very talkative in the best way, and pushes you to learn and grow throughout the course. I truly enjoyed having her as a professor and would love to take her again in the future.
Professor McKey makes a difficult class feel easy. She offers lots of support—extra credit, study sessions, and practice exams. She genuinely wants her students to succeed. I put in minimal effort and still have an 89. If I had studied a bit harder, I know I could've earned an A. I love Professor McKey and would take her again in a heartbeat.
Although I felt as though she was overwhelmed as a PHD student teaching multiple classes across campuses, she was still a great professor. The class itself was difficult but it is designed to help you pass. Lots of easy grades, but LOTS of group work. Be prepared to work with others and at a fast pace the whole semester. A NEW CONCEPT EACH WEEK!
Take her class!!! Her lectures make the material less intimidating & don't miss them or at least watch them when she posts them!!! Every week they'll be homework (20 questions), a problem set (10 questions), a discussion board, and a lab due. It sounds like a lot but they are SO helpful in this class and will help with your grade.
Amazing Professor! Lots of group work, but she cares about how each group operates and how the work is distributed. She gives opportunities to get extra credit and she was good at messaging back about questions or concerns. There are two assignments and a group lab report to complete each week, but not the hardest to do.
Made me want to pull my hair out Gets so many things wrong, uses old lecture videos, doesnt even seem to understand the concepts she teaches intuitively, just plugs numbers into equations to get answers that dont make sense if she took a sec to think about them. Soooo many mistakes everywhere from her notes to exam reviews. No late work. Don't take
The professor shows that she cares about the students and physics. The class itself is very practical when going over mechanics but don't overestimate the concepts as they can be easy to throw people off sometimes. During labs she will go around offering help when you're stuck. Also the grading system is very straightforward.
