Ms. Pagel is an awesome professor. She keeps the class interesting and fun. I was extremely nervous about the class and she was a wonderful teacher. Very helpful and encouraging. Love Love Loved her class!!

Amber was the best teacher I have ever had in my life. She made me love English like never before. She was very down to earth and reasonable with all her assignments. I highly recommend taking her class. She's brilliant.

I took her class for summer 1, she is a cool teacher, makes you work a but pays off in the end. The easiest essays she will give are the movie analysis.

Very nice and informative. Easy to understand information given. Do the work, get the grade. Attendance is mandatory or will count against your grade average.

Pagel is the best English teacher I've ever had. She helpful if you need it and fair-minded when grading. She also gives lots of extra credit.

She is a very organized professor. She wants her students to fully understand the content of her class and follow directions. If you follow directions, have your essays edited and ask/take her advice then you should do well. The grades she gives are fair but, she is tough. I loved the class even though it was pretty tough at times.

Genuine and has a unique sense of humor. Much more entertaining than most teachers. Seems passionate about her job. Should be teaching somewhere better than Eastfield.

She's an amazing teacher! She helps out a lot, and although the papers are a bit long, with the guidelines given, and her help, they're pretty easy to write. I took her for both 1301 and 1302 and absolutely enjoyed going.

I took Professor Pagel in an online course Spring 2012. The class was challenging (which I enjoyed) and there is a lot of writing involved but hey its a composition course. Professor Pagel is very helpful if you reach out to her. She definitely helped to significantly improve my writing skills, which were already pretty great. ;) Highly recommend.

Professor Pagel was very organized and timely in inputting grades and whatnot, but she's a REALLY tough grader. Her class wasn't extremely hard, but it was pretty challenging. Don't take her if you don't like English and writing all that, because you'll probably like it less after the class. But if you do, you'll like Prof. Pagel.

Not very easy, but very helpful and very organized. She focuses a lot on academic and formal writing about curretn events, but lets you choose what you want to write about.

Just took 1302 online with her in Maymester. Very fast, intense class, but she was so helpful. I think I emailed her ten times a day with questions and she always emailed back right away and with lots of help. She was really patient with me and I ended up iwth an A. Oh and she let us write all our papers about things we are interested in.

My 1st college class...awseome! She was really clear in what she wanted and posted handouts, example essays, and even lecture videos to help us figure assignements out(online class). No tests at all or boring readings. She does grade the papers hard, but--this is a comp class after all! Let us correct an essay and do extra credit. Pretty easy A!

I always struggled in English but I was able to make a B in her 1301 class during the summer. She is very helpful and clear on what she expects. Just put some effort into it and you will do fine

Professor Pagel treats her students like we are intelligent, and I mean that in a good way. No high school BS in her class-real thinking. She calls us scholars and treats us like them. Even though her expectations are high, she gave me tools to do work at my best level. Warning-no late work and get the textbook right away, you WILL use it.

Just finished ENG 1302 with Dr. Pagel in the summer. She is pretty tough but very clear and very helpful. The work really isn't that hard if you just follow the directions closely, but there's alot of writing which I guess makes sense in an English class! DR. Pagel is really smart. I definitely recommend her if you want to improve your writing.

Grades really hard on essays, but was very helpful. I had lots of family problems this semester and she was totally understanding and worked with me. She explains things really well but has high expectations. Attendance does count so be sure to go to class. I struggled alot but am defenitely a better writer now. Hard but encouraging.

This was my 3rd time taking Eng 1302 and I wish I would have had Prof Pagel 3 semesters ago. Her expectations are really clear and she let us pick our own paper topics. She's tough and picky about some things but was way better at explaining stuff than my last two teachers. Take her if you feel like you need help with the basics of writing.

Pros: VERY organized, extremely clear directions and expectations, very helpful, responses fast to emails, good at explaining stuff, really friendly. Cons:Hard on MLA, counts attendance, you do have to buy the book, no late work at all. Overall--great teacher with high expectations. I highly recommend her if you don't mind the cons like attendance.

Easy A! Very cool class-interesting readings, easy discussion boards, very helpful professor. She posts lots of videos, lectures and notes to help us with the readings, really thought provoking. You can work ahead too. Take this professor if you can!

Took her for a 16 day maymester. Really tough to get all the papers done so fast but she was very helpful, great at emailing back to me fast and her expectations are totally clear. As people below said, she is really organized which does help. The movie analysis is the easiest essay and the argument is probably the hardest.

Tough on grading but really helpful. I was in her office every week and got lots of help on the essays. Professor Pagel explains stuff really well and helped alot with all my grammar problems. Really nice and really organized but pretty tough. Attendance is required but she lets you do extra stfuff to make up for missing class.

British English with Professor Pagel lit a fire in me that I am forever grateful for. She is definitely serious about educating students. If you're willing to work hard and be honest. Professor Pagel will meet you where you are. She is organized , demanding and AWESOME!

I took this class because it is required at UTA for my program but ended up really enjoying it. (and I am not an literature person at all). The readings were actually interesting and we only had to write one essay. Dr. Pagel posts lots of help like lecture videos and notes. Really organized online class.

I had to retake this class because the first professor was horrible! Prof. Pagel is amazing, she has so much detail available and even has videos of her instructions. Grades quickly and is awesome at emailing and interacting. You can tell that she really likes what she does and genuinely cares about her students progress. THE BEST EVER!!

Lots of reading, but the assignments themselves were easy mostly discussion boards. Getting a full semester done in a short summer class is tough but she was really helpful when I emailed her about things and she dropped low grades and gave us extra credit.

Prof Pagel is an incredible literature professor--best I've ever had. She's passionate about it and wants to share that love with her students, which in turn makes for an inspiring learning experience. She's a tough grader but she's *very* helpful if you email her with any questions. She wants you to pass, but she also wants you to work for it.

She will push and make you a better writer. Also, she's very good at helping you strike ideas for your paper.

Ms. Pagel is great. I took her British Lit class online She is super helpful She responds to emails promptly, she gives you feedback & tells what she likes about your HW. instructions are clear as day She lets you be creative with assignments. She even has a youtube and she makes videos to help! only thing is lots of reading .You have to buy books

She's a hard teacher and makes you work for it, but she's amazing. She has a passion for here job and it shows. She's great and pushes you to be your best as well.

The class was kinda hard but that's probably because i'm not good at literature. SHe made the course really interesting and i enjoyed most of the readings. Dr Pagel is really helpful, email her or go to her office hours. I went twice and she even loaned me some of her own books to use. Writing the term paper was a challenge but I still got a B!

I actually went here before I chose a professor. I took British Lit online, and it was interesting & challenging. Professor Pagel is extremely helpful, and her videos and notes make things a lot easier to understand. You read a lot, but much of the reading is interesting. & This class only wrote one paper. I definitely recommend taking her class!

Took her for 2321-alot of reading, from Beowulf to british literature today, but the actual work wasn't too hard. Quizzes over some readings, but they were easy. A few writing prompts and discussion boards. Hardest thing is the 7pg term paper but we got to pick our own topics for that, so not too bad. she's really responsive to emails and organized

loved, loved, loved her! fun class even though there's tons of stuff to read. Got to write my term paper on Harry Potter :-) Hardest thign of the semester was reading paradise lost. Ugh. Dr. Pagel is really helpful though and posts videos and notes, she also answers emails quick.

professor Pagel was an awesome teacher. Yes, her flex term class was really challenging but I managed to not quit. She is indeed a tough grader! But I appreciated the grade I got because I learned to fix my grammar and to put effort in my own work. The most fun essay that I did was my argumentative.

Professor Pagel is a good instructor and does help you strive for the best! She is tough I will admit but has intentions of being helpful with it. There is a lot of reading and you will need to keep up but it is worth it. I recommend her if you are majoring in English.

Pagel kicked my butt! I took her during wintermester and she wore me out. She grades SO meticulously but I honestly wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Her lectures are strictly from knowledge. Even though I spent countless hours stressing over her class, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. She's the reason I'm majoring in English.

I took Pagel for a flex term online, and everything was very cut-and-dry. There are readings every week and the last 2 weeks is used for the term paper. You can work ahead so I finished everything a week early. That term paper is seriously something you need to prepare beforehand - you cannot start it the day before it is due.

She definitely works with you and is an amazing teacher! She teaches everything in an easy way and it's not too much work.

I absolutely LOVE Professor Pagel! She is very kind, very helpful, and makes sure you understand what it is that you need to do. Have I mentioned that she posts music videos that I LOVE? For the WWI poetry, she posted the music video for Metallica! This is my kind of professor! Take her for this class! You will NOT be disappointed!

Dr. Pagel is probably one of the kindest and most passionate professors I have encountered. I took her for British Literature, so obviously there was reading, which was fairly easy. She is rather strict on attendance, but if you show up and are not lazy, there is no issue.

She wants you to pass! I did a maymester course with her and it was a very heavy workload, one or two assignments due a day even on the weekends with lots of reading. The stories are good and makes the class interesting. She responds quickly to emails and will work with you to pass. She omits 2 of your lower grades. 1 term paper due at the end.

Dr. Pagel is kind of tough but really helped me this semester. I always thought I was horible at English but I have a B in the class and really got better with my writting. She is super nice and gives lots of feedback. She has a free online textbook so that was nice. We got to pick our own topics for papers. Very good at responding to emails to.

She only required 3 papers which was not too hard but my grammar is no good. She helped alot in her office hours. I was going through some things so she really accomodated my issues. I took her for a fast 8 week class. Pretty cool professor. we got to write about things we wanted and one essay is a song analysis. Dr. Pagel knows her stuff and was super helpful on getting ideas going for papers and organizing and things like that, explains things well. Lots of feedback on essays. She is strict on attendance though.

Prof. Pagel is amazing, funny, and gives great feedback on her assignments. There were many quizzes, but they were usually multiple choice and you had more than one attempt. We had three essays, a song analysis, an argumentative essay and a final research paper. She is so caring and worked with me when I was going through a rough patch. Take her!

I took this British literature class online to transfer to my university program. Very organized class. Dr. Pagel communicates really well and lets you work ahead on assignments. The readings were interesting and the work was not very hard. Only one essay was required. Definitely recommend!

My BSN required this class and I am NOT a English person so I was dreading it but Dr. Pagel made it SO enjoyable. Her lecture videos are interesting and really helped me understand the poems and make lots of connections to my life and things going on today. Not nearly as hard as I was scared it would be. Really helpful with detailed feedback on my essays. It has been a while since I was in school so I was really nervous about my writing. I got to write about things that matter to me too and things for my major. She was super kind and understanding about my struggles too. Definitely recomend her.

British literature sounded scary to me but this was not that bad! The reading quizzes are super easy and you can use your book and notes. the 8 week class is pretty rushed but you just have to stay on top of your reading. One big essay at the end i wrote mine on Harry Potter. The best unit was the world war 1 poetry

Thanks to COVID19 my campus class got moved to online and i was super nervous about it. I hate online. Dr. Pagel reached out and really worked with me because Im trying to take classes while homeschooling my kids and working from home now. She has been super understanding and helped me keep my A i need for the nursing prrogram Im trying to get in

I got stuck in online when the campus was closed cuz of corona and Dr. P was SO nice about it. Her website is organized and she emailed us all the time with help and reminders. I never thought I was any good at english but ended up with a B so im happy about that. The best thing was how nice she was and that we got to write about things we picked

This is a fast class but not very hard. The quizzes are all open book and open Notes quizzes. Only one essay is required and dr. Pagel is really helpful with online conferences and even phone calls. And the class is very organized.

Dr P is pretty straight forward. She explains things with lots of detail and is super helpful on giving corrections and feedback. She marked up my grammar and helped me really improve my writing, and got me looking closer at my essays so i could find my mistakes. Her organized and detailed style worked good for me.

She gave me amazing feedback and really improved my writing skills. The only people that are giving her a low grade were the students that didn't put any effort into their work.

She really gives good feedback but expect a lot from you. Her course can be really easy if you put in the work. She responds to emails really quick so if you have questions she gets back to you.

Prof. Pagel was a tough cookie because she has her expectations and brings up every student where she would like them to be. She gives great feedback on essays and always offers help if needed. I emailed her multiple times and received a friendly quick response every time.

Took Dr. Pagel in a fast May class and was really happy to get an A. It was alot of reading but all the directions were really clear and she gave us late passes and dropped our two lowest grades. The quizzes are easy. She is quick to reply to email and is really encouraging.

English is not my thing but she made the class enjoyable. She gives so much feedback adn comments and is very organized so that helped with my learning style. But read all directions really closely. And email her for help, she does online tutoring. Some of the reading was hard but she helped me through it and gave me audio of it

Taking this class in the summer while on break from my university and im glad I did. Its definitely easier than classes at my college and her website is really organized and easy to use,b ut she grades tough especially wiht little things. That's good though because she gives lots of help and feedback which i need. The readings and quizzes are easy.

I honestly did not like the work but I liked her. She is very direct and organized and factual and to the point with super clear directions. I'm not really a fan of british literature but Dr. Pagle and her cat memes made it bearable.

This class really isnt hard. I only half way did all four of the essays and got Ds or Fs on them but I still got a B in this class because I did all the small grades like discussion baords and quizzes and the grammar stuff. It is easy to pass if you do not miss those things.

lots say shes a tough grader but shes really only tough on the written things. quizzes are stupid easy and multiple choice. The things we had to read were mostly easy accept beowulf and shakespear. even when I half-a** did stuff she still gave me at least a 50 on it. Like other said, shes really organized. U only get one late pass so use it wisely!

Just finished1302 with Dr. P and had a great experience. It was a campus class which I prefer over online. She was really helpful and spent alot of time with me on my essays which is good because I'm not the best writer. She gives plenty of feedback and encouraged me to write about things that are important to me like women's rights and climate.

Lots of reading for summer but I guess thats what I signed up for! Really helpful video lectures for most reading assignments. quizzes very easy. one difficult essay, but you get to pick your topic for it. She responds to emails real quick and she grades fast too.

My advice- email for help if u need it, read instructions really close, watch all the lecture videos, use the example essays she has posted for a guide, and communicate alot with her. Shes actually really helpful if you want video conferences or online tutoring. I hate reading, but i reached out alot and made it thru the class w/a B!

Class covered short stories and poetry. Im an English major so I really liked studying the form of those.Not much reading required and quizzes arent hard. Close readings were more difficult except the sonnet one. The posted videos helped with those so watch them. I learned alot about literary terms and poetry techniques. Good class for ENG majors.

Hard but really good teacher. She's very organized. Best thing was that she helped me be more professional in my writing style and she treats students like professional adults and is really fair and consistent. Gives extra credit and lets you redo a essay to fix your grade. Research paper was hard but at least i got to pick my own topic for it.

The quizzes she would give out were pretty easy. However, the essays had to practically be perfect. This is a course that should not stress one out, but it did. She would nitpick at organization and word usage and other stuff which made it hard to keep up with feedback.

English is tough for me because its not my first language, but Dr. P really helped. She's really approachable and give lots of feedback and notes. We got to pick our own topics and redo an essay if we need a better grade. I was very happy to have a B in the class.

I really liked her class and am taking her again for 1302. Shes hard but my writing got much better.Class was in a computer room so we could work on essay in class and she helps while we are writing. Not much group work at all. We did use the textbook and she did take attendance every day.Dont be late to class! Most of all shes really nice and fair
