I had her during her first year teaching so she was just getting used to things. She was pretty easy and would answer any questions you would have during class. She prepares you well for the tests.
Love her class. She genuinely cares about making sure her students understand whats going on. Taking her again next semester for Cal 2
I took Mrs. Robinson for Calc 2 and she was very helpful! Fall 2015 semester was her first semester teaching, so she was still adjusting. However, she does whatever she can to help her students understand the material, both in and outside of the classroom! As long as you pay attention to the lectures, you're for sure going to get a good grade!
I personally love Mrs. Robinson. If I ever had a questions she was very willing to help in any way she could. She's young which makes her very understanding. I would for sure recommend taking her. The reviews she gives you really prepares you for the test also.
Nice, young, helpful, and pretty.
Great teacher ! She keeps a positive attitude and makes the class more enjoyable ! Her notes in class follow the homework very well. She gives a great review before each test and grades tests fairly. Also she's very open to questions and extra help!
She was really helpful, especially for a first year teacher. As long as you do the work, you'll pass no problem.
She's a great professor! Explains everything clearly and loves to help you out if you are stuck/struggling. Homework is easy and tests are just like the test reviews she gives. Definitely recommend her to any calculus student!
Mrs. Robinson was nice but sometimes got a little side tracked while teaching. Get ready to hear stories about her meteorology degree and maybe a video (it was funny to watch). Overall she was ok but I feel she could have done some more problems on the harder material and less on the easy material.
Mrs. Robinson was an ok teacher. She kept lecture on track but sometimes got off topic a bit. She also tries to scare you with how hard material will be. The only reason I did well is because her test reviews were EXACTLY like the test.
She is an awesome teacher that actually cares and wants you to understand. She's always willing to help. Very energetic and young and sweet. You are graded on hw and quizzes through MyLabsPlus, and the tests are super easy- just like the reviews and study guide
Great teacher, she makes the classes interesting, she has a lot of homework, but if you showed up to class the homework was easy. If you had a question she would answer the question quickly and show you where your mistake was. Had to leave towards the end of the semester, but she made sure Mr. Bank was available for her classes.
Mrs. Robinson was ok. Not saying she was a bad teacher but I had heard great things about her and she was just ok. She did leave early in the semester to have a baby and didn't come back. Her sub was pretty good, but nothing fantastic. I wish she had given some sort of extra credit so I could have possibly made an A instead of B.
She teaches you everything you need to know, but Cal 2 is just a hard class! She is always available if you need help or are confused, but make sure you know EVERYTHING covered in class or you won't make the grade you thought on the test.
Amber robinson is so sweet and nice! I had her for calculus 2 and I honestly was scared for that class because I'm not the best at math but her lectures were so well explained and she always made sure everyone was on the same page and if you needed help then she was always willing to help. If you skip class then it will be hard to catch up
As she tells her students on the first day of class, she essentially trained under Dr. Banik (One of the most well known and respected professors at the school). She not only teaches like him (very well) but also is kind and personable. She helps make Calculus II, a very hard class, much easier. I would highly recommend her!
Homework is somewhat long but clear specifications for each test and passionate, organized lectures.
Great Professor! Very sweet!
Her test throughout the semester really aren't that hard, so if you try on those you should be in good shape going into the final. The final in this class is really tough though, so make sure you STUDY for it. She does a great job explaining things in class, and really seems to care.
Mrs. Robinson was the best teacher I have had so far at State! If you do the homework and the study guides, you will do very well on the tests. Calculus 2 is not the easiest class, but she made it very manageable. The problems she works in class are very well explained. She is upbeat and if you do your homework and pay attention you will be fine.
Mrs. Robinson is a very good Calculus teacher. I came into Cal 1 with no calculus experience and made it out with a B. I expected to do even worse in Cal 2, but Mrs. Robinson is so clear with her teaching that I might come out with an A. I would very much recommend her. If you take the Honors section, there is no essay at the end.
I'm absolutely horrible at math but somehow Professor Robinson made Calculus II do-able! Tests are very similar to the study guides she gives. There is homework for every chapter.
Amber is the bomb dot com!!!! Take her. I am not kidding. Go register for whatever class she teaches right now.
she is the best teacher i have ever had. I am completely an idiot when it comes to math but she made math so understanding that i grew to love it. for any math class i would take her!!!!!!!!! she is very caring and understanding!!!
She is a great teacher and really cares about her students. It's cal 2 so it's not an easy A but she makes it easy to understand and if you work hard you should make an A.
Truly cares about your success in her class. The course material is challenging, but she goes slowly and explains things in a way that makes calculus bearable. She's more than happy to help you outside of class. She posts notes online, but it's a privilege that'll be taken away if attendance drops. Overall, she's super sweet and wants to help you
Overall a great professor. She really seemed to legitimately care about her students' well being and success. She was excellent at transferring knowledge, and we all learned very well. We often got out early and still were confident in what we were doing. Tests were reasonable.
She is one of the best teachers I've had!! She makes sure you understand everything she works through and tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. She is also very nice and cares about her students. Make sure you show up to class and be respectful and she will respect and help you.
She is willing to help in anyway. She is available outside of class if needed. Tests and grading are fair. Lectures well prepare you for all her tests.
Amber Robinson is the best! She does an amazing job explain content, using a lot of examples. She is a pretty easy grader, and she wants to see you do well. She has a lot of mercy on you if she can tell you are truly trying.
Best Calculus II professor, and now, she's teaching Calculus III. She's gives about the same amount of homework as most math professors at Mississippi State, about 3-4 assignments per test, and depending on if you're a MWF or TH class, she gives between 3-4 test and mandatory final, that in my class, replaced our lowest test grade.
Ms. Robinson was one of my favorite math teachers. You will absorb so much from her class and will need all of it for cal3 (except trig sub thankfully). If you have the chance to take her please do, you won't regret it.
Amber Robinson is a super nice lady. Her lectures are detailed and informative. Cal II is difficult, but she clearly wants her students to succeed and she does her best to provide you with what you need. If you take good notes and commit some time, you will be fine.
Mrs. Robinson is maybe my favorite teacher I've had. The math department in general at MSU is full of really good professors. She cares about her students, gives good reviews, and the lecture examples are easy to follow.
Class was significantly harder once it went online (COVID) because she was double teaming it with another teacher. Before online, she made the class easy to understand. Shes engaging and understanding and helpful.
I love her. She has clear lectures and works many examples. The homework is not too bad. She is very personable and cares about her students. She is super sweet and encourages you to ask questions if you dont understand something. She has a test review and grades quickly. Definitely take her for Cal 2 if you can.
I took Mrs. Robinson in my first semester here at MSU (Honors Cal II). She is FANTASTIC. She prepares you extremely well, and the tests are 8 questions long--I personally thought they were easy, but take my advice with a grain of salt because I would say Cal is my strongsuit. If you show up/do hw, you're easily gonna get a B minimum in here.
Dr. Robinson was the best choice for cal 2. I am not good at math whatsoever and made an A in this class because of how good of a professor she was. She explains concepts clearly and provides many examples and homework to deepen understanding. Tells what topics will be on test, is extremely fair with partial credit, and did final exam replacement.
Ms. Robinson was a very moody teacher. You could tell some days she just didnt want to be there. Got a big attitude with students who didnt attend class during the pandemic and she quit recording lectures about half way through the semester. I believe she shouldnt have punished us students who attended lectures by taking the recordings away.
I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Robinson!! She is always ready to help you! SI is available for this course. She goes at a steady pace and allows time for questions. She also plans to have a review day for exams where youre allowed to ask any questions! I would take her again for Calc 3&4 if I could!!
Cal 2 is no easy class but she makes it the best she can! She warns you about what students typically miss on tests and her lectures keep me engaged. Her review before exams is always helpful, especially if you come with questions. The hw and quizzes are great study material! On exams she puts medium difficulty questions instead of super hard ones.
Great professor. Really enjoyed being in her class. She is passionate about what she does and it shows through her teaching.
Mrs. Robinson has a very bubbly personality, which certainly makes class more enjoyable than not. Cal II is a challenging subject, but her lectures, examples, and homework directly reflect the test. SI sessions are available outside of class in order to offer additional help. I highly recommend taking her for your math classes!
Mrs. Robinson is as good as it gets for cal II teachers. She really wants everyone to succeed. She is super helpful in her office hours going over tough homework/review problems. Test reviews are pretty similar to the test so they can help you prepare well. She also provided an integral chart for us that had a lot of the ones we needed on it.
She was amazing! If you are taking cal2 at MSU, I strongly recommend her. She makes all of her lectures interesting, and she is extremely helpful if you have any questions. All of the homework and tests were based off of what we did in class. I loved her class, and as long as you give effort, you will as well!
She explains everything very clearly and walks you through everything step by step. She is the best professor I have had. If you have a question she explains it very well. She is energetic and her tests are very close to the reviews.
Amazing teacher
Mrs. Robinson was one of the best professors I've had. She was very caring and understanding. Calc 2 is a difficult class, but she teaches it the best way possible. If you do your homework, go to class, do the quizzes, and review before the test you should pass no problem.
Best calculus professor in my opinion. She made everything clear and really wants all of her students to succeed. If you have the opportunity take this class.
She is the absolute best in my opinion. An absolute gem. Cal 2 can be very difficult, but she makes it seem very easy and manageable. Extremely caring individual and she ensures that once you put in the work, you will pass. Do homework, do quizzes, and practice a few extra questions, and you will ace the exams. Ensure you know trig well! Take her!
10/10 recommend Mrs. Robinson for Cal 2 - I sat front row every day and went to her office hours, and she rounded my 89.5 up to an A without me having to ask! Attendance isn't mandatory but 99% of what's on her tests is covered during class time, so I wouldn't miss unless you absolutely have to. She's straightforward and answers questions well!
Mrs. Robinson was an overall nice lady and you could tell she knows the material. She makes her tests way harder than any problems she worked in class or on our HW. Definitely caters to specific students. Made sure to brag to my class when she won her teaching award, came off a little self-centered and her I am the best attitude showed.
Cal 2 is no easy subject, but she explains everything you need to know and what students miss on tests. Very friendly and will answer emails when you have a questions. Great teacher !!
She is probably the best professor I have ever had. Cal 2 isnt an easy class but she made it enjoyable. She is very willing to help outside of class. Attendance wasnt mandatory but I wouldnt skip because lots of material gets covered each lecture. Definitely would take her again.
Mrs. Robinson always takes the time to make sure her students understand what's going on. She has really good knowledge about the subject and can teach it very well. She is great at responding to emails and is great about staying and answering questions after class. She is very personable and enjoyable to have as a professor.
Not fun
Made the class ridiculously hard for no reason. I dont know why she feels we need to do the hardest problems from each section. She is also really picky about what calculator you can use on her tests.
if you can take Ms Robinson for any class at all DO IT!!! she is absolutely amazing! she explains things well and is more than willing to answer any questions you have! her tests aren't easy, but if you pay attention to lecture and can do the homework, you'll do great
I loved math until I took Cal 1. My cal 1 teacher ruined it for me and made me think I would never get through the rest of cal. Robinson makes it really easy to understand. She teaches so well. She is an absolute angel! I wish she taught everything! She works through every step unlike my cal 1 teacher who expected us to already know! Take Robinson!
Mrs. Robinson is your best bet for calc 2. She's really good at conveying complex concepts in a way that makes sense. If you actually go to class and attend office hours if you need help, then this class will be no problem. Make sure to do the homework, she might even round your grade up as long as you have done all homework assignments.
Everything you could ever want in a Cal 2 professor. So sweet and her lectures are super helpful. Absolutely willing to help with anything. One of the best math teachers I've had!
Sweetest woman I've ever met. Nurtures you like her own child. Will not take it easy on you but wants you to succeed! Super helpful during office hours!
If you have the chance to take Mrs. Robinson for any math class, DO IT! She is way better than some of the other Calculus teachers. In regards to the class, if you don't go to class, do the homework, or quizzes good luck passing. You can't just walk into the class on test day and hope you will pass.
Love her so much. MSU has a pretty good math department in general, but she is definitely one of the best. Would recommend taking her for any class you can. The homeworks are almost exactly like the examples we do in class, and the tests follow pretty closely. She's a good lecturer as well and explains concepts well.
She was okay. Little full of herself
Great professor! If you need to take Cal II, I highly recommend Ms. Robinson. Her class moves pretty fast, but she is great at explaining the material and super nice.
Going to class is important. She cares and wants her students to pass. She can't help if you don't reach out.
Mrs. Robinson is probably the best choice for calculus II students to take. I'm in her class right now and she is a girl boss, she is very effective in teaching the math, open to any questions, and very clear in her instructions and how the tests are to be done.
Her lectures are great. I don't recall ever having to look far to find anything - everything we needed in the class was in the slideshows and problems that she went over in class. I doubt you can find a better calculus professor.
Professor Robinson was an amazing Cal 2 teacher! Very sweet and her lectures were very thorough and easy to understand. I always felt prepared for her tests from the homework she gave. Highly recommend taking her!
Absolutely wonderful instructor, and is easily top 3 instructors you could get for early math classes, though it's difficult to go wrong with just about any of them anyway. Funny, caring, easy to reach out too, and very sweet, she's a great choice for any class.
Mrs. Robinson is a top notch Cal prof as her rating implies. She cares and wants you to succeed. She will help you a ton in office hours which is especially beneficial on hwk and test reviews. Her lectures are great and she doe not tend to go too fast either.
Her class is very easy to understand and she's very nice and does her best to help out whenever she can.
She genuinely cares about her students and makes sure to teach everything in a way that makes sense. There's never any 'stupid questions', and she sets aside time to go over what we need to know before tests. Overall a great choice for Cal 2.
Mrs. Robinson is one of the BEST profs - and people - I have ever met. She takes perplexing Cal2 concepts and breaks them down into simple steps. She works thru many examples and leaves time for questions. She genuinely cares for her students, both personally and academically. She is super kind and understanding - if you ever can, TAKE ROBINSON! :D
Robinson really cares about her students. Her lectures are straightforward and she goes through every type of problem. If you have questions she will happily go over them. The tests look exactly like the problems from the lectures. Some of the homework can be harder than what was done in class, so always go to SI.
I had Amber Robinson for Calculus II. She was awesome! Super clear lectures and very nice.
Amber is amazing. I took her for DE, which she doesn't usually teach. She gives me ~high school math teacher vibes~ in a good way. She has so much energy during lectures and makes the material make sense. It's a hard course, but if you can work through all the homework with no issues then the tests won't be terrible.
Mrs. Robinson is one of my favorite professors here at Mississippi State. She was always available for help when I needed it and she clarified any concepts that I did not understand. Calculus 2 can be a challenging course due to the length of some of the problems, but Mrs. Robinson helped break down each concept very well. 5/5 stars easily!
Amber Robinson is a caring professor who is great at teaching calculus II. She is generous with partial credit on tests.
The nicest professor ever! So sweet and her lectures made calculus II so easy. I cannot recommend her enough! Please take her! She is very clear about what will be on the tests and many of the HW problems come directly from her notes. I really enjoyed her class!
The best choice for Calc 2! Every lecture is amazing, she works through problems slowly, and she is very clear about what is on the test. She was great at answering questions, and every test was graded within one day.
She teaches well and is very helpful if you go to her with questions. Very engaging professor, which really helps in a class like DE. Tests are very fair.
Mrs. Robinson would seem a little scattered during lecture. She would be all over the place to make her point, when it could have been taught more directly. She definitely caters to her "teacher's pets", so sit towards the front and suck up (laugh at her jokes and talk with her) and you'll do fine. She was better in Cal 2 when I took her.
She gives less partial credit than Tim Moore.
I took her for Cal 2 and she was great! I had no background in calculus so I was very nervous for this course. She made learning hard topics easy and her lectures are not boring! I bombed my 1st test and the final, but still ended up with a B. Just go to class, SI, and I would recommend getting to know her a bit, and she'll be willing to help out.
The best teacher I've had at MSU.
Professor Robinson is the best professor I've had at MSU. She's a super sweet lady and she lectures very well. She's more than willing to answer questions in class and loves when the class interacts. Cal 2 material can be tedious (outside studying will be necessary), but she's a safe bet as a professor.
Mrs. Robinson is an absolute gem in the dark and intimidating world of Differential Equations. She makes challenging concepts easy to understand in lectures and is always willing to answer questions or explain things further in a kind and compassionate way, both in class and during office hours.
Go to class, do the homework, and ask questions if confused. Do these 3 things and you will get an A. There are 4 exams and a final, which can replace your lowest exam score. The weekly homework assignments and exam review assignments are pure grade boosters, but do take time to complete so don't wait until the last minute. Overall, a solid choice!
She goes very fast in the lectures; I would recommend buying an ipad or printing out the blank notes she provides on canvas to compensate for that. Other than that, she is a fantastic teacher and very understanding. Even if you are terrible at math, if you go to class, do your due diligence, and ask questions as needed, you should pass.
Mrs. Robinson is one of the sweetest professors ever! She was always willing to answer any questions regardless how dumb it was. Calc 2 def seemed scary but she made it easy! Very generous when it comes to partial credit and SI was very helpful!
The test reviews are always a little harder than the exams, so if you can do those you'll be fine on the exams. Make sure to go to the SI exam reviews, they are VERY helpful.
I took Mrs. Robinson for calculus 2 and differential equations. I absolutely loved her classes and would sign up for another class if she was teaching it! She was always very responsive to emails and available during office hours. Her feedback on tests was always super helpful and she drops your lowest homework grade. I would highly recommend!
She does a very good job of explaining everything. She goes very in depth and explains every single detail. The tests are not too bad, just make sure you can do the test review and you will do well on the tests.
If she taught every single engineering class I would have at least a 3.9. I literally love her so much. I had her for cal II and DE, CHOOSE HER! She's amazing and is like a kindergarten teacher for college students. Although in DE, she is a tiny little bit harsher on grading considering that you're kinda supposed to know your stuff. She is fair!
She explained all the concepts for Calc II so well. I would recommend her to anyone that takes Calc II. Some of the concepts are difficult, but she explained them well. Very transparent when it comes to exams.
She is an excellent professor. She genuinely cares about her students, and wants them to succeed. SI's essentially give you the exact same questions to prepare you for the tests. She gives tons of partial credit. There is a lot of homework and test practice assignments that are mandatory, but they prepare you well for the tests.
A great teacher with a hard class made it easy. Very kind, responded to emails quickly, and taught VERY well. HIGHLY recommend the class. She somehow made me like Calculus. Attendance is not mandatory, but going every day helps a lot.
The best professor ever! She is so kind!!! She is more than willing to help you when you put in the effort and she sees when you try! She made it so easy!
I genuinely hope I never have to see her face ever again. She was a decent professor academics wise, but she is horrible at relating to any issues and has no personability. If you have any struggles do NOT expect her to be of any assistance.
Awful. Just awful.
She gives very little partial credit. If you make a little mistake on a problem, but you do the process correctly you will still get almost all of your points taken away. She claims she wants to help and "gives good partial credit", however, she does not care to give you anything points wise.
I'm sure she's a fine lecturer for lower-level Calculus classes, but was not a fan for DE. WebAssign sucks. Won't walk you through a problem you don't understand. 50 minute tests sucked. No other way to put it. I should get 1 hr 15 mins on tests if I'm in T/R. My final was by far my best grade because I actually had time to work the problems out.
Simply lovely. One of the best instructors in the entire university. She wants all of her students to succeed and is willing to help you whenever she can, mostly during her office hours. Helped me through some of my toughest times. Also, if you attend her lectures, it is very helpful. Tests are not as difficult as the homework. To sum up, BEST ONE!
The final is a large portion of your grade 25%. Cal2 is tough, I didn't see a lot of partial credit. You don't have a lot of room for bad scores, test scores are the major in your grade.
