Dr. Keel is excellent. She strives to teach her students to write competently and think critically, and makes sure they have a firm grasp of mechanics and grammar, which is pretty much what the class is about. She is an intelligent, cultured, and articulate woman who is devoted to her students. I'm taking her for 1302.

She is extremelly hard. out of 22 people in my class, 14 had droped her.if you are gonna take her..... good luck

I can remember the 1st day when we went around the room and Dr. Keel had us tell a little bit about ourselves. After we were finished going around the room the class asked her and she replied, "HAPPILY DIVORCED!" I then thought to my self, WOW! this class is going to be a trip, and it was! Only 6 survived the class out of about 24.

Feminist who hates men. And Im a girl saying that. I dropped her because she grades papers according to if she agrees with you or not. If she doesnt like you topic or where you stand on it you will either fail or get a D. She is very bitter, and not very nice.

I think Dr. Keel has good intentions, but doesn't know how to show them. If you don't like to work I would not suggest taking her. I personally think she is boring. A hint I heard from a previous student is that you should go to her personally with paper other wise you will fail and she has set it up that way.

I went into this class willing to learn, and with a proper knowledge of writing skills. After about 5 papers, which I worked my butt of on, I received them back with 50% on all of them. I have never gotten below a B on an English paper in my life. When I went ask her why, she just blew me off. I withdrew from that class through the dean. Good luck!

She's hard and it's a lot of work but she's really nice about grading and gives you pleanty of chances not only to come to her office where she'll actually grade your paper and give you corrections but also in class. If you apply yourself you won't get out of there with a failing grade. You just have to want it.

This class is by no means a piece of cake. There are three two page papers, and one six page paper, but she gives many opportunities for people to get help. Lots of journals to write for homework, but if you apply yourself you'll pass the class. I ended up with an A in the class, and I really enjoyed her teaching style and her humor.

She is very hard and mean. There are lots of long essays and even one six page essay that's hard. You'll have to read Frankenstein and other reading materials. You'll do journals and make A's on them and think you're doing good, but they don't count for much. She told me the essay's count the most and they're very time consuming.

You will EARN your grade in this class, but it's worth the work. There is reading and a LOT of writing but you have time to work on it and get lots of help if you want/need it. YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO WRITE A COLLEGE-LEVEL PAPER AT THE END OF SEMESTER! The real problem most of the whiners have is they can't handle the work--it's not HER fault.

Took her for 1301 and 1302! It's a pretty heavy courseload, but it's worth it. She will really work with you to help you improve your writing skills. One of my fave profs ever.

I had a 4.0 GPA before her class now I am a 3.6. I went into the class eager and ready for a heavy work load, but after I received C's on what I thought were surely A papers I quickly began to lose steam. Her grades are based more on her opinions not on the efforts you put into your work. Don't take the class if you want to keep your high GPA.

Don't got to class expecting an easy A. Ms Keel is not a hard teacher. You just got to be a good student and do the work. I pulled a B easily. I did good on the research paper and the presentation. I didn't even turn in half of the journals. She is a great teacher and she knows what she is doing.

Dr. Keel is by far my favorite english teacher ever! I made my first A in an english class with her. She is very helpful if you go see her during office hours. The work load is heavy at first, but stick with it and I promise things get easier. You won't regret the class!

I really enjoyed Dr. Keel's class. The coursework is moderately difficult (mainly reading assignments & essays) but if you put in the time & DO the work you'll be fine. For essays you'll usually do 1-2 drafts before turning in a final copy & she'll help if you get stuck. You EARN your A's & B's in this class--if you're lazy, go take someone else.

English is my favorite subject, and I was very excited going into her class! After a family crisis arose, I had a difficult time attending class. So I went to talk to her, and she blew me off. She wasn't willing to listen to 'excuses'. So I had to withdraw. Unless your willing to agree with her, and share her same views you won't make it far.

Dr. Keel was a really good teacher. She was pretty hard, but if you like to read and write, she'll be good for you. I wouldn't recommend her if you're not an english major or if you're lazy. She's pretty blunt, but if you work with her it makes the class a whole lot easier.

This class was so difficult. There were like 20 papers to write???.I have never gotten below a B in any of my papers before this class. She grades so hard, there is so much work, A TON of reading, and A TON of writing. If you are expecting an easy A DO NOT take this teacher.

Professor Keel is a great! Quizzes are online. There are about a lot of papers. But she is so helpful and willing to read each draft and give suggestions. I got A. And would definitely take her again.

Not a fair professor. I submitted my 1st on-line paper 1 minute late and sent her an email asking for 5 more minutes. She refused with a smart a** answer. I turned in my thesis sentence for my 2nd paper and she would not except it. She said, "I will not except any future work for you, you need to drop my class or you will get an F.

I took the summer mini-mester. Wrong choice! I'm very studious and out of 60+ college credit hrs, maintaining an A average, Dr. Keel's class was my first B. I truly did homework 7 days a week and tried my best. I also found Dr. Keel rude and she provided virtually no "constructive" criticism. I lost a lot of sleep (and tears) over this class.

Unless you are Shakespeare or on Oprah's book list, DO NOT TAKE! I have always been great in English and I failed this class, Essays are ridiculous and homework is outragous! Unless this is your only class do not take. Very blunt and rude!

After that first paper, it is evident this class is difficult. I made made B's in the upper level classes at a university. Teachers grade on their opinion on what THEY think a paper should be on their standards. It is easier with other people. She fails people on this logic. I did less stressful work, at a UNIVERSITY and she said I'd fail.

Went to Dr. Keel for every paper that was due and let her grade them. I still recieved C's and D's on EVERY paper; even though she said it was fine. Nailed me grade wise fir stuff she recommended I change, before turning in my paper. Passed the course, but would have liked to have rightfully earned a higher grade for following instructions.

Dr. Keel as stated is rude. She grades unfairly. She does not have compassion in her heart. Example? Turned in bare minimum for an assignment (got a 70) because I was in the ER with my child. Got an email telling me to "step it up or I wouldn't make it in her class". Although all my other grades were 100s!!

Dr.Keel is fantastic. She's organized, & extremely intelligent. You do the work, you will pass. Took Summer II in less than 5wks. Lots of reading-discussions-3exams-1 annotated bib.U do the work U will pass. Highly recommend. B+ grade, satisfied. U wanna learn, take her-lookin for an easy A, don't. U won't stand a chance! Amazing teacher!! Im so happy i ended up taking her class even though most did not recommend her. I figured that was because they were lazy students. I enjoyed her class because the lectures were interesting and she was very caring toward her students. Wish I could take another course with her. You earn your grade that's for sure:)

She was not a easy teacher. if you work hard you will do well. i took her class with physics, chemistry2 and bio2 but i made a good grade. she goes out of her way to help you with your papers. take the time to go to her office and work on your rough drafts.if she corrected your draft you will surely make a B or A. i took her for both 1301/1302.

this is the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. I would never ever take her again. She is way to hard and treats everyone like English majors. BUT IM NOT one. Took it for the summer. I'm ok with fast summer courses but all the word she wanted due was extremely too much.

I have never in my life taken such a difficult course. Since 6th grade I had been in honors courses and never received a grade below a B. I currently have a 68 in this course. She grades particularly hard and does not give any credit for content of responses of discussions. I would not suggest taking this course during summer or taking her period.

I would not suggest anyone take her class if you are taking other classes at the same time. Also, if you aren't an Eng or Lit major, forget getting an A. She gave me a 0 on a paper (not for plagiarism, but because she didn't like what I wrote) and I went to the dean and had to drop the course! There are other wonderful professors who aren't rude.

Notified us that if our papers didn't interest her within the first 5 sentences she is giving it an automatic 20% and moving on. She gave my papers ZERO's. With the help of Dr. Keel I was able to turn out better essays with clearer theses. Keel makes you think about current issues that can affect your future with Journals, which are often assigned for homework. Keel is always available. Her office is super cool. Practice proper grammar if and when needed. Very important.

Dr. Keel is a lovely person! I've taken 3 of her classes so far (2 in person, 1 online) Her class isn't an "easy A', but if you complete the assignments you will pass with a good grade! She is EXTREMELY helpful and and understanding. She talks to her students with respect and is quick to respond when they need help.

This class requires A LOT of reading. The projects are kind of difficult, especially the online group project. It's a fast paced class because it was a summer corse. We would have to read 3 stories in a day. Would not recommend for slow readers or ppl with dyslexia (like me).

She assigns WAAYY too much homework and she WILL read everything. You will have 2 or 3 things due each day you have her class. The assignments are made as if she is the only class youre taking. This is the best English professor on campus! There is a ton of homework but you WILL become a better writer. I took her 2 years ago and the skills that I learned in her class are still valid and beneficial in my life. I took her for my children's literature credit. there is A LOT of reading. Class is mainly made up of discussion questions. she is a pretty fast grader and may have them graded within the day of uploading. there is a group project where everyone gets the same grade which is frustrating. Tests are strictuly over lecture notes.

This professor tells you from the start that if you don't start your email off with "Dr. Keel", then you won't get an email back. She is very tough at grading. I didn't do about 10-15 of the discussions but I still got a B. There are 3 tests over each unit, and TONS of discussions, and 1 group project.

She is very passionate about English, therefore grades very hard and expects you to know as much as she does. If you keep up with things and listen to the small amount of feedback she does give, youll do great. She has a very organized set schedule for the semester which helps a lot. Have to get textbook. Took her online; however, I met with her in person and she is aggressive and rude. Overload of work, hard essay topics, confusion in assignments, and a rude professor. She does not give the grade you deserve. Please avoid her class. All the positive comments are probably her, or one of those stuck up kids.

This professor expects you to be a perfectionist at MLA without ever teaching it. She does not grade according to what is in most MLA books. You will NOT get an A and she will make sure you do not get an A. Busy work she assigns is not mandatory and worth most of your grade. Mandatory assignments are worth almost nothing. Take class at university.

I took keel this spring semster and when vivid made the school online everything went terrible! She completely overload the class with tons of work. The first paper I sent she literally gave me a zero and told me she couldnt even read it anymore. She a hard grader. And doesnt explain much. I dont think she is a rude person just takes job crazy

Professor Keel will make you work for your grades. I took the class as a summer class and expect to work hard. In order to complete test and assignments you MUST read the books that are REQUIRED. She is BIG on grammer so be prepared to work hard.

Her HW assignments are mainly discussions (3-6 a day for 3-4 days in a row). We read over 10 books in a 6-week summer course. She also takes English grammar & citations seriously. It is best to take this class when you have a lot of time on your hands. There is a lot of work to be done & also only replies to your emails if you refer to her as Dr.

She is a really strict grader. Literally wants everything to be perfect with all your assignments and she does not explain how she wants it. She expects you to already know her way of grading. I would change my discussions whenever they would come out low to a low grade to see if it helped, but it never did. Most of my discussions were 80's.

Unless you want to read 13 books in a semester, do a group project with vague instructions and little direction from the professor, dont take this class. She expects more than she should from an online class with no recorded lectures. All assignments are pretty much:read this, write that. All assignments are writing assignments.

I received a 79 in this class because I was admitted to the hospital for a week and missed a quiz and a lecture assignment. She refused to allow me to make these assignments up. I am now in my third year in the nursing program and to date she is still the most difficult teacher I have ever taken. I would not recommend her to anyone.
