Keeps class well informed. Sometimes doesn't speak clearly but is understandable.
The course itself is pretty tough. He will answer any and all questions. He assigns homework after every section, but does not check it. It is important to do it for practice though. The final is pretty tough. If he sees you trying he will help in any way he can. He's an excellent professor.
It's a good thing that the class was easy because he did not explain things well at all and wasted alot of time in class.
He's a good teacher, but you can hardly understand him. He tries to be funny, so it's cute.
Basically the class was online. All the quizzes, homework, and tests were in math lab. Harhad is hard to understand but he is helpful if you have questions. You can always ask for help in the lab though so it almost doesn't matter who you take.
You have to go to class and do your homework. This class is difficult no matter who you take. He is easy to talk to and somewhat understanding.
I did my homework twice, went to tutoring, went to the test reviews, and went to him for help. My test grades didn't improve that much & I asked him what I could do for help and he said study harder. I ended up with the highest D and he would not pass me. His tests are nothing you've seen before.
Kind of hard to understand but writes everything on the board, and works very hard to make sure he is understood. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot.
Dr. Harhad is amazing. He genuinely cares about his students. He is a great teacher, and if you still don't understand the concepts, even offers small group tutoring sometimes before his tests. He is a great guy, and I wish I could take him again.
As an independant study/distance teacher, he's great.
Took a little over a week to pick up on his accent but after that it was smooth sailing! Very good teacher and is always willing to help you grasp a concept. 100% of your grade is test though, so would not reccommend for anyone who is not a good test taker!
I loved Dr. Harhad. I had taken Calc in high school, but Harhad cleared my questions of exactly why we did things. He was always open to questions, and very helpful. Visiting his office hours were beneficial and he was flexible to work with those who couldn't. His accent wasn't a hinderance to learning. Adorable little man who's class I'll miss!
Not good. Harhad was very obscure, and did a poor job of just teaching the material. Curved a lot, but I wish he would have gotten me to understand it instead of just having to curve. Avoid at all costs.
Dr. Harhad is a great math instructor. He answers any question that you ask him, and works problems out in detail for you to see how the work is done. He's friendly and funny. His accent takes some getting used to, but after the first class it gets pretty easy to understand him. Take him if you're not a math whiz, he'll help you understand things!
A little tough to understand at first but he writes everything he says on the board.
he show step by step process. homework, quiz, and test is online so check for deadlines and do his work, you had infinity amount of time to make 100 percent on homework before it is due, and 10 tempt of time for the quiz. Basically an easy A class. i recommend him because his teaching is understandable.FIND TIME U WILL PASS!!
Best professor ever! So helpful and nice
He is really nice and helpful. He understands that we are human and offers plenty of opportunities to bring our grade up. 7 free bonus points for every test. I once asked for a homework extension and he gave me two extra nights. Good guy. Hard to understand at first, but you get used to it and he's there to help.
Took this class after getting a 69 my first semester with Egedy (RIP). Difficult to understand at first, but is very understanding if you need outside help or an extension with webassign. Has practice exams (and solutions) for every practice review. He knew my name personally even though I never went to office hours and texted in class. Super nice!
GREAT teacher. Took him for Precal and Calc I because I loved him so much!Strong accent, but you get used to it. Unbelievably helpful. Explains material very well, helps you if you don't understand, and gives plenty of opportunities to receive a good grade. He makes Calc very easy to understand, though it can be a hard subject.
Good if Calculus already taken in high school. If first encounter, do not take. Uses very challenging questions on test. Some accent barrier. His officer hours are him eating at the cafeteria.
He is very helpful in class and will review as many problems as you ask, but the tests are extremely hard. He puts all the hard homework problems and is practically impossible to get higher than an 80 on a test unless you are really good at math. Hard class if you did not have it in highscool. He is really nice but that doesn't help your grade.
My most favorite professor at LSU. He's very clear about the material, very helpful and doesn't mind repeating himself. Missed a homework? he'll extend the date for you. Holds a review session before each exam to help prepare you. To do well in this class, you also have to help yourself, Don't procrastinate and you'll pass with at least a B.
Harhad is a very nice man. He will help you throughout the semester and be happy to do it. If you took calc in high school and can handle AP Calc, you'll do well in Calc I. I took him my first semester and only went to 5 classes (first one and the 4 tests) because I knew everything from high school. If you don't wanna go to class take him
Don't take his class unless you're really confident in math. There is a lot of homework online, but he will extend the deadline if you ask for it. Also, if you bring in a homework problem, he'll do it in class for you. The in-class examples and homework problems are pretty simple, but the four tests and the final are killer.
Going into this class unprepared was the only reason I did so poorly. Harhad isn't a bad professor, he starts every lecture asking if anyone has questions from online homework and will spend nearly the entire class answering questions if needed. Get ready to be slammed by the tests and final though because they're killer.
Run buddy run.. My friend had taken calc. 1 with him and recommended him to me and described him as a professor who he likes personally. So as the math genius i thought i was ,i was like how hard could this be?. Avg for 1st test 44. his grading really sucks and the tests are really long. he curves but it still doesn't get you the A you want for 4h
Harhad was such a nice guy; however, when it came time for the tests he would choose the hardest problems. I would not suggest taking him if you are not very strong in calculus already. There are a ton of homework problems but he curves the homework grade at the end of the semester. He rarely offered extra credit. Do not slack off like I did. STUDY
Prof. Harhad may be Difficult to understand given the accent, but one on one he was the best calc teacher at LSU. He really cared about the success of his students, was fair, and helpful.
Goes over many problems in class, however chooses the most complicated examples for the test. PAY ATTENTION AND PRACTICE EVERY NIGHT
Great teacher! I did not have calculus in high school therefore, I struggled. If you do not go to class you will do poorly. Lots of homework but he gets his test problems from the homework so if you make the time to study every problem you will do fine! He's a great teacher he just picks hard problems for the test.
Dr. Harhad was a great Calculus I professor. His lectures were informative and he gave a breakdown and review for every exam. His exams are usually less than 10 problems and the problems are definitely meant to make you think. His homework assignments are lengthy, but he takes test questions directly from WebAssign. Great guy who really cares.
While at times his accent made it hard to grasp what he was saying, overall he was a good professor. Honest about grading, pretty funny, (albeit not always intentionally), and went above and beyond in terms of practice problems and helping students.
I took calculus my second time with him. I really appreciated how, unlike my last calculus teacher, he took the time to explain each concept and prove each equation so you know where the letters and numbers are coming from. He encourages questions everyday in class and world them in class. Overall a cool cat.
Dr. Harhad is a really good teacher. He emphasizes and reemphasizes what is important for the test. He is happy to work any homework or practice problem you have during class. The tests require you to know what you're doing, but they're not too bad. He's really helpful and teaches all the concepts really clearly. I would take him for math again.
For each test question he chooses the hardest example
Definitely one of the best, but hard tests. Had friends in other calc classes that did much easier problems and easier tests. Would say to take him if you need to go to calc 2, etc because you will know the material better than others. Do not take him if you only need calc one, for he is not an easy teacher. Great teacher but hard. Not an easy A.
He's very nice and will extend homeworks for you if needed. Breaks down the calc content to a fairly understandable level but don't be fooled by the course itself. If you only took precalc, you will have a very hard time latching onto the concepts. Took calc in high school, retook it in college, and still had a hard time. WebAssign homework sucks.
Really nice guy and a great teacher. He really prepares you for Calc 2 but his tests are hard. He actually cares how people do in his class.
Very cool teacher but his tests are out of this world. Do not take him if you want to make a good grade in Calc. He drained the soul out of me by the end of the semester. Only take him if you know what you are doing when it comes to calc.
Dr. Harhad was a great calc professor. He came to class everyday ready and prepared. It was clear that he knew what he was teaching. He could answer any question asked from homework, the book, tests, etc.. His tests are hard, but if you do the practice problems, you should at least get a B. He is kinda funny and truly cares about his students.
If you actually apply yourself, the class isn't incredibly hard. He wants you to succeed so if you need help, just go talk to him during office hours or ask questions in class.
Praise Harhad. Every other calc class in Fall 2016 suffered miserably. If you get the chance to take Harhad, do. He's funny and although he has an accent, he's easily understood.
Calculus I is one of the more challenging lower level maths regardless of what professor you have. His lectures are clear and effective. If you apply yourself and attend class, it's shouldn't be a big challenge. He cares if you understand the material and is available outside of class. He welcomes questions. Best teacher I had my first semester.
I've found him to be very precise and clear with the concepts he taught. Because I've taken calculus in high school before I took this class, it was not that hard. He also tells you exactly what to study for the test, but you must study to get a good grade because a couple minor errors can add up on a 10 question test. Overall great teacher.
Dr. Harhad is amazing. Students highly respect him because he is so caring and patient. You can email him questions from the homework. The next day, he will work out those problems step-by-step. Lots of homework, but you should expect that with the course. The course is traditionally very hard, but he made the experience enjoyable.
Can not understand him!! Goes waay too hyper fast, writes endless notes on irrelevant things to confuse you, does not know how to answer questions, assumes you already know the material DO NOT TAKE HAR-HAD!!!
Harhad is a great Calculus teacher. He explains things well and is extreme open to questions and going over things people don't understand. He also does pre-test review sessions during class. His tests are tough, but he gives a lot of partial credit, and his pre-test "study guides" are great previews of what the test will be like!
This is one of the best teachers i have ever had. period. He understands the material can be difficult for some people and so does not just show you how to do the problem. he explains everything behind it and how to apply the principals in different ways. he makes you establish connections and understand calculus better overall. very good teacher!!
I do NOT recommend taking this guy. His tests are easy if you know the material, but his teaching is absolute garbage. His accent is thick and his writing is small on the board. Please find someone else that can teach.
Goes a Little to fast but great teacher. Easy grader you can score A's if you study . I would recommend
He was very nice. I was taking Calculus for the second time and it seemed like a completely different class, in a good way. I understood what he was doing. He would explain and prove why he would use every equation he did, and it helped a lot. Doesn't mean I didn't have to study. Just he made it easier to do well. He actually cared.
I didn't expect to have such a great teacher my freshman year. The rest of my teachers were average or sub-par, but Harhad was incredible. He's a great teacher who has a very solid grasp on the material he teaches. His lectures are top notch. He's hilarious and always puts a smile on my face. Even when I was struggling I felt like he cared. Awesome
Great teacher; makes material understandable. 4 test and about 36 online assignments. Class is not mandatory, but he moves fast so if you miss a day, you will be missing valuable information and might not understand it. Not a lot of time to fully learn in class. Just grasp the concept and really learn it at home. Grades leniently on tests.
I forgot that a final was on a certain day and he let me make it up the next day. Then, he bumped up the grade by a point to boost me from an A- to an A. On top of that, he's a decent teacher and a really funny guy.
He was a very great teacher but make sure to go to every class if you want notes. His tests are straightforward and not difficult if you know how to do the homework. He really cares about the success of his students.
He lectures the whole class and you have to try and understand him which requires a lot of focus. It is every day too which isn't fun. I am a math person and he challenged me. His tests were extremely hard because he picks the hardest possible questions for each type of problem and combines concepts.
kindhearted, caring, devoted to his student. Nothing else to say.
He is a very caring man and is actually there for the students. Although he does want what is best for the students if you have never taken calc before or have no prior knowledge this class might be a bit tough. At times he can be pretty hard to understand and kind of hard to follow, but if your willing to put in the work he is pretty decent.
Professor Harhad is the best math instructor I have ever had. He has office hours 4 times a week and is always available for outside help. I didn't take Calc in high school, so the material was challenging, but his tests are fair and true to the study guides. Genuinely cares about his students- I can't recommend enough!
I am not a math person at all and Dr. Harhad made Calculus completely manageable. His lectures explain the concepts really clearly and tests are similar to the study guides. He always gives time in class for students to ask questions about homework problems they didnt understand. My advice would be to focus your studying on the study guides.
I have taken Calculus 3 times. I failed my first class because my professor did not teach the material well. My second time my professor failed his entire class. THIS PROFESSOR IS HERE TO HELP YOU. Harhad wants you to succeed and will curve tests based on the class. He teaches well but it will take a lot o work from you to understand the material.
Very tough class
Amazing professor. Calculus is hard no matter what, but Harhad wants to see each and every one of his students pass. He puts a lot of effort into teaching well, and it shows. He curves tests based on the class's score. Do the homework and his practice tests, as they will prepare you well for the test. If you have the opportunity, take harhad.
I've never been the best math person, but this class was really not as bad as any other math class I'd taken before. He is a great guy and really wants to see his students succeed. I will say, there are some times when I found it a little bit difficult to understand him, but he is 100% willing to take the time to make sure you understand.
Even if calc is something you struggle with, you won't hate the class. Harhad personally wants to see us succeed and learn. The only people who really fully understood the material were those who had taken calc before, so take trig first to be better prepared. Calc is tough no matter the professor, but Harhad is your best bet at LSU.
His accent is a little thick, but he's very sweet. He's moved a test back for our class before. Very fast grader. Honestly, it's calculus, which I've taken before, but he's not bad at all. The only negative part would be the amount of online homework... there's a lot of it! It's not hard, just very tedious and time-consuming. He's not mean at all.
Dr. Harhad is the sweetest and most adorable man in the world. Unlike some other math professors here, this guy actually cares about his students and works with even the most confused students to make sure they're exam-ready. However, get ready for a 15-hour-per-week ride if you wanna make an A in this class, especially for Honors Calc 1551.
Professor Harhad is AMAZING! I am an engineer major, if I could take this man for all of my math, I WOUD LOVE TO! He is the best professor in LSU by far. He cares a lot about the students and explains so well. He is funny and very sweet!
I loved Dr. Harhad. I'm personally terrible at math and so was pretty scared to take calc, but he made class enjoyable. He's like the most adorable man you'll ever meet, just super sweet and nice. The class itself was hard, but its calc so that was to be expected. However, if you want to pass calc he is definitely your best bet. TAKE HARHAD
Does not give partial credit on tests and will not tell you how you messed up unless you meet with him outside of class.
Calculus is hard no matter who you take, but if you can take Harhad for calculus, then I highly recommend it. His lectures help to lay a foundation for the work that you will be doing in the homework. MAKE SURE TO DO THE HOMEWORKS THE NIGHT THEY ARE ASSIGNED that way you can understand the material that is being coved in class, also easy points.
Great calculus teacher. I was really nervous about taking calculus at LSU but I ended up with an A in the class. just do all the homework and study a while before the test and you will do fine. He is really nice and he does not expect you to know anything about calculus before you take his class. Take Harhad over any calc professor.
He explains the material well and the homework is pretty easy. He'll even solve problems in class if you send him an e-mail. My main gripe with this class are the tests. The problems on the tests were always WAY harder than the problems on Moodle and WebAssign. The final is brutal too. You'll probably do better if you did calc in high school.
This class is very homework heavy, and the assignments take several hours to complete. I hadn't taken calculus in high school, so I expected this class to be rough, although it was pretty manageable with Dr. Harhad. He is such a sweet man and really cares about making sure his students succeed.
If you can get past the accent, he's a pretty effective lecturer. However, his exams are definitely on the hard side. As someone who's taken Calculus in high school, this course with this professor was surprisingly difficult. If you've been introduced to Calculus before taking this class, I'd recommend him. Otherwise, stay away.
Dr. Harhad is extremely lenient on due dates and understands the students' struggles. He teaches content through examples, so it would be best to attend lecture if you didn't take calculus in high school. His tests are almost exact replicas of his recitations so if you wanna get good grades, DO the recitation packets.
Has trouble responding to emails.
Teaches it very well. You have to get on Zoom though when he his lecturing or watch them later. He explains how to do everything in those! For online the practice exams are so helpful, if you know those then you will be totally fine for test. I worked pretty hard for this class but it was over the summer, so a lot more work because it's in 7 weeks.
Always listened to us when we wanted to push back homework.
He is very considerate and doesnt mind accommodating you as long as the reasoning is legitimate. He allows test corrections and curves if needed. Gives about 5 homework assignments per test(of which there are 4 + final). I had him the first semester of covid, so only had to be in person once a week, and zoom was not manadatory. Great teacher!
Harhad is one if the nicest people I have ever met. He is a great teacher and is flexible when he feels he should be. DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE!!! He is extremely sweet, if you correct him he will give you bonus points normally if it is a math mistake
I only showed up to class maybe 6 times. Online homework basically does all the teaching you need. Then again, I did take calc in high school, and actually already had credit for this class. Though, when I did show up to class, he explained things very well and made test criteria very clear. He curves tests, and I made +100% for each one.
Honestly one of the best Calculus professors at LSU. He curves test and will give the class extensions on homework. He really doesnt only test for the right answer but is more focused on if you understand the steps. Highly recommend!
Dr. Harhad was hands down the best professor I had this semester. He is a very kind and understanding man and wants his students to do well. The hardest part about the class is the WebAssign homework, but he is reasonable and will give you an extension if you truly need one. He also takes the time to help answer the difficult homework problems.
I took Dr. Harhad for Calc1. He clearly cares about his students a lot and wants us to succeed. Tests were very similar to notes and final was almost exactly the Review. He is a good teacher and easy to understand material if you watch lectures and take proper notes. Would recommend.
Dr. Harhad is great. Math is one of my weaknesses so calc 1 was terrifying. But he thoroughly explains everything and will never stop working out example problems for you. He is open to pushing back homework deadlines, he curves exams, and you get a ton of partial credit on them. He's very nice, very smart, and I highly recommend his class.
He is a great professor but expects that you know the basics of calculus. He tries his best to help his students. He pushes back homework deadlines and curves all the tests. If you put in the time and effort you can pass.
One of the best teachers at LSU !!! If you can take him take him. He's an amazing teacher, we were online this semester but he explains topics really well and will stop if you don't understand. Fair when it comes to test and hw, gives you practice exams before hand. He wants everyone to succeed, if you study and participate you'll definitely pass
Best professor you will find for calc. I started the class with a 60 on the first exam and have finished with an A+. You will have to work for your grade and study hard for the tests. His tests are pretty difficult but he goes over everything in class. Pay attention and you'll do fine, stay on top of the homework. Have good effort from the start.
One of the best math prof I've had in a while. Does a great job at explaining and answering questions. Always available during office hours and encourages it. I wish I could take him again if I could. The tests are pretty similar to the homework and practice exams.
Took Dr. Harhad Spring 2021, and I thought he was a great professor. The lectures while non-mandatory had many example problems that were exactly like the exams. Very caring and fairly generous on grading if you are clear with your work. Would recommend taking him for this class
His lectures are genuinely really helpful because he goes over the homework problems & a lot of them tend to make up the exams. He also does a lot to help his students & cares for their success. As long as you dont fall behind & put in a lot of effort, you will be okay.
Harhad is a great teacher who gives good lectures that make Calc 1 easy to understand. All of his lectures were available in person or on zoom, along with notes published in written format, to accompany. He frequently pushed homework back, and while not a HW heavy course, its a enough to help your grade. One of best Profs I've had.
Although he is very generous, he does not care about you. I took his class online, meaning there were no lectures or anything. This was extremely difficult. He didnt help.
he seems like a nice guy, but would never give extra credit. also i could barely understand a thing he said. dont recommend taking this course with him.
its 5 credit hours but as long as you pay attention in class you'll be fine and he gives you the old tests to study off of and his tests are not far form the old ones, and will curve hard if needed.
Dr Harhad is one of the best calculus teachers. He explains things thouroughly and is willing to go over homework porblems during class. He will review a lesson if the class doesn't understand. He is very kind and understanding. He actually improved his tests when the whole class failed. He listens to his students and actually wants them to learn.
i couldnt go to his class because i could not read his handwriting and on top of that i could not understand him either. his recitation classes on fridays are taught by the TA's, and that helped me to understand things, but for the most part i taught myself this course.
I falied calc and then took this class and he is GREAT. he does have an accent but it is easy to udnerstand whne you get used to it. His TAS are great and he works so hard to mkae sure we understand. If you ask him to extend a homework, hell usually do it
The examples he shows are similar to what's on the homework, which is what the tests are based off of. The lectures that he does can be easy to understand but I still found myself lost on some of his tests early on because I didn't practice enough. When I did, my grades were a lot better. Practice the HW and I can almost guarantee you'll pass!
His handwriting it terrible. He does not stop to explain anything to the students. I dropped his class because he cares more about his lectures than the students. I would not take his class ever!
had him for a professor for a online class and he was amazing. pushed deadlines and answer emails very quickly.
Dr. Harhad is honestly the best math teacher I've had. I took Calc in High school but I'm understanding Calc now so much better than I did in HS. He is very clear, goes slow and step by step. Barely had to study for Exam 1, and got a 100%. He's vary caring and takes his time to help you understand calc. Highly recommend taking him.
The way he teaches is incredibly clear. There is a bit of homework, but that's to be expected of a math class. He's super understanding, and attendance isn't mandatory, but I would definitely recommend going so you don't have to catch up on what you missed.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. His lectures are so easy to follow. His tests are not nearly as hard as the homework so it's good practice. He also gives practice exams that are very close to the actual test. He cares a lot about the students and wants to see you do well. Take him if u can he is the BEST!
I have had trouble with this class but it's because its a super fast pace course and if you miss more than 2 days you're screwed. Professor Harhad is okay.
I'm garbage at math but Harhad was a good professor. 1530 is much slower, so we had lots of time for explanation. Exams are all on paper and he gives partial credit even just for writing a formula down. They were also usually easier than the online homework. Notes in class had lots of examples to go back to when studying.
He does a really good job of explaining the material in depth but he does have a pretty strong accent. I sat at the front to help me understand better. He's really sweet and tries his best to make sure you understand. Go to his office hour if you're confused. His tests aren't like the homework (much easier) and he preps you well.
If the first thing you noticed was the C-, its my own fault. Dr. Harhad is the goat. If you're like me and absolutely blow at math or have a minimal mathematic background this professor is for you. Harhad has great lectures where he explains things clearly and concisely while understanding that not all students are as advanced as others. Take him!
Dr. Harhad did a really amazing job! I wish I went to his O.H hours more; I had some stuff going on. He explained things so well that that class was much "easier." He took out most of the non-Calculus stuff, which is good because it's a Calc. class. He understands learner "psychology" it seems. My advice: take him, do all the HW, and go visit him!
Dr Harhad was a very good teacher. He always made sure to ask and answer every question that came up in class. He not only explained things very well and thoroughly but also explained things in more than one way if you didn't understand something. If you have a good excuse he is very good about letting you make things up to get lost points.
Very Great Teacher. Extremely Friendly and Lenient when it comes to due dates. Explains Calculus concepts well. He will help you if he sees you asking questions and paying attention. Don't expect extra credit, the closest thing he has is grading attendance at the end of the semester.
One of the nicest guys on campus. The past exams he gives to study for the tests are really helpful. Sometimes the homework can be a lot but if you actually do it the tests are much easier. Some people complain about his accent and handwriting but it honestly wasn't bad at all if you're willing to focus even a little bit.
This man saved my life with Calculus! He is very understanding and will push back deadlines that helped me to finish my work. He is very caring and provides many options to help with learning the material. You don't have to watch his lectures, but they are helpful. Take him definitely!
TAs helpful outside of class. The class was overall easy, but theres a lot of HW. His lecture are very easy to follow. He post practice exams and notes on Moodle. Email him for help. I did practice problems and created exam study sheet for every exam w/ formulas. TA give partial credit. Go to class bc he gives exam review b4 an exam. IT he curves.
Awesome and such a nice guy. Understanding and great at drawing graphs and makes sure everyone understands.
Dr. Harhad is a good professor. (funny too) Calculus is a hard class so you definitely have to put the work in. Go to class- or you will fall behind quickly. TA's grade exams and give lots of partial credit.
Dr. Harhad is fr the best calc prof ever. I've never been amazing at math but I had to take this as a requirement for my major. He has a passion for his subject, understands calculus is difficult and not for everyone, and tries to make his class as straightforward as possible. His pre-test reviews rock and he's overall a funny, awesome guy. 1000/10
Harhad was a great calc professor. TAs gave lots of extra credit on tests. Homework was much harder than the exams. If you understand how to do the practice exams that Harhad gives you, you will do well on the tests. Class was not mandatory except for the recitation class one day a week.
He is a pretty good professor and posts the papers he writes on for the lecture. The rececitations were extremely helpful and the homework was too but about 50% of most homework was much harder than the exams. Exams were easy if you practice the old exam but the final was way harder than the old exam. Overall really good professor.
You can tell he is passionate about his job and wants to see his students succeed. His explanations are clear and he often gives extensions for homework. He is overall a really friendly person and a good teacher. I'm not a math person but he makes it so understandable. Would highly recommend to anyone anxious about higher level math classes.
Dr. Harhad is an amazing teacher. He is very clear about what you will need to know for exams, and his in class reviews are great. Attendance for the lecture is not mandatory, but recitations are. He uploads his notes online as well. There is a lot of homework, but it's helpful in the long run. Calculus is hard, but if you study you'll do fine!
Dr. Harhad is honestly the best calculus professor at LSU. He makes hard concepts so easy to understand. Plus, he uploads his notes every week to Moodle. He is also willing to push back homework deadlines if you ask him. Overall, he is a very nice and great professor!
He is hard to reach but Harhad is SO sweet. thorough in depth lectures. Absolutely will work with you about deadlines and makeups. Curves & does 5 points for test corrections. People just don't want to put the work in for a hard class. Lots of cengage homework.
Professor Harhad is a good guy, but not the best teacher. His lectures are confusing, and you're better off using YouTube/a tutor. His tests aren't too difficult if you use the study guides.
Professor Harhad is awesome - super sweet and passionate about the subject. His lectures are thorough and he's willing to work with you on deadlines. Though Calculus is tough, he makes it understandable. unstuckstudy was a big help for study prep along with the free textbook.
AMAZING MAN!! he truly cares about his students can gave about 30 bonus points this semester to help us out- i emailed and asked for bonus for the practice final and he gave 10 pts if you did it!! exams are like practice exams, but its not a gimey. actually learn how to do the problems or learn the patterns in the answers and you'll do fine.
He gives additional bonus points for pretty much every exam and gave me an extra 16 points on my quiz. I'm currently at a 96 and he's a great teacher. The homework are just like the exams so as long as you understand the homework you'll do fine on the exams. The final exam was also pretty easy and was only like 20 questions. Highly recommend.
he is a caring teacher that tries to make the material easy to understand. his class doesn't require attendance but def go in order to understand the material better. for exams he gives a study guide that is very similar to the real thing to help us prepare. def recommend taking him his class was one of the easier math 1550 classes!! loved him!!
Dr. Harhad is an AMAZING professor!!
He is an amazing teacher who clearly has the knowledge needed to teach the course. The beginning is hard but once you get the flow of how he is you get used to it and do better. Using CramBetter was also a very helpful way to prepare for the exams and get clarity on harder topics.
He is the sweetest ever. He makes some jokes during lecture. Sometimes he is a little confusing since he gives you the rundown of why a formula is like that and the different ways to go about it, but means well. His test are relatively easy if you study and know what you are doing.
Prof. Harhad is an awesome ass teacher who cares about us. He takes his time going over topics and is pretty down to earth. He's approachable and will help you if necessary. His practice exams are very similar to the actual thing. If you do well on those, you are gold. Nah, platinum I also like how he crack some jokes every now and then.
Great Professor. I took his course online, which is calc3. Didn't do well in final, but he really helped me out and able to make me graduate from my school. Even I'm taking this course online, he is still extremely caring, respond super quick. Such a great guy!
Harhad is amazing! My grade may say otherwise...but calc really confuses me. He is very good at teaching and grades very fairly. If you have any background in calc or precalc this class will be a breeze. Daily attendance helps, but isn't required. Tests are taken with a TA on fridays in recitation class. Tests are a major part of grade.
I'm taking his online Calc 3 class and he's really sweet. Whenever you ask him questions he responds to them very clearly and its very clear that he wants you to preform your best in any class you take with him. I plan to take more classes with him in the future, and suggest anybody planning to take math classes would take it with him!
Professor Harhad helped me a lot in the course and was very willing to help whenever I have a question! Great professor!
good math teacher.
Amazing teacher! He explains the algebra and trig concepts you may have forgotten, and ties all concepts together. He teaches by solving the problems out with the class, which is much more helpful than writing theory on the board like many math instructors do. I think attendance is mandatory for the recitations.
Honestly the best math instructor I've had by far. Made math simple to learn and even sometimes fun. Recitation classes were also super helpful! The main thing that hurt my grade was not doing homework or preparing for quizzes, so don't procrastinate and make sure you prepare for quizzes. Take him if you can!!
One of the best math teachers for this course for sure. I struggled at first, but he is definitely one of those professors that shows a lot of grace and really wants to see you succeed. Go to recitations, they help a lot. I also used CramBetter tutoring for my struggle topics, which really helped me get through the class!
Dr. Harhad is a great professor, but he does have an accent which takes some getting used to. He posts a lot of homework but he usually pushes the due date back. He gives partial credit and bonus on the exams, along with a curve, so the tests are really easy to pass if you study. Just do the homework and review the past exams, and you will pass.
Harhad was a great teacher; funny, helpful, and very understanding if you communicated with him. ALEKS didn't prepare me at all, so I had to drop. You also have to pay for WebAssign, attend a weekly lab, and the class is very test-heavy (4 exams + 1 final = 80%). If you stay on top of homework and come prepared, he's great.
Probably not going to get the grade needed to pass this class but prof. Harhad is a great guy who loves what he does. He gives practice tests and will help and review any questions that you ask him. Also my TA was great and you should also ask them questions that you want to figure out.
Very nice guy and really cares about helping u suceed, the tests are quite difficult but he gives points for anything you did right in the problem, even if your final answer is wrong. grade is really reflected by grades on the test and there is no extra credit. not hard if you prepare well
exams were a heavy part of our grade but you can get SO much partial credit and theres bonus on exams too. he goes slow and takes time to explain algebra and trig concepts you may not remember. practice exams are similar to the real exams too. definetely a lot of work but he really tries to make it easy. will curve on occasion too
Dr. Harhad is an amazing professor. He doesn't go super fast so you have time to digest all the material. He gives long homework assignments but majority of the questions on those are harder than his exams. If you go to class, pay attention, and try you will pass. There is also recitations with the TAs every Friday which are helpful. Recommend.
Dr. Hardhad is so sweet, hilarious, and has high-quality lectures. Attendance mandatory recicitation. The homework is tedious and harder than exams, but his practice exams are very similar to the actual tests. As long as you understand algebra/trig this class should be a breeze. I never got below a 100 on a test since he has one bonus per exam.
Dr. Harhad is such an amazing and understanding professor! The only attendance mandatory are recitations on Fridays which are helpful. His practice exams were very similar to the real exams. There is a good bit of homework, but tbh it was pretty average. His lecture style is to explain concept and then do a lot of practice problems. Would recommend
