Amie is a great professor. She truly wants everyone in her class to do well. She does homework for each chapter online, in class quizzes and 3 tests. Although attendance isn't mandatory , it's best to go to class.

Shes new at teaching so she follows Professor Somprayacs old test. Her lectures are actually very boring. I have to teach myself the chapters before each test. I still receive A's on the test but you do have to know what you're doing. Study the chapters and do the practice problems on Wiley before the test and you will ace it!

This is a class that you have to take seriously. The online homework assignments were a blessing BUT extremely LONG. Some of them would take me hours but they are very helpful and good for your grade.I did really well on her test. I just studied all the assignments she gave in class, the study guide, and read the chapters from the book.I liked her

Professor Haun loves her subject. An experienced CPA with a lot of local connections, I'd suggest leaving a good impression on her if you plan on working in Chattanooga's business scene. Her lectures are the powerpoint to a tee, but attendance is absolutely mandatory. Her homework also takes about 3 hours to complete, so don't procrastinate.

Be sure to attend every lecture! Study hard and know the material before you move to the next chapter. If you do not understand it, go to her office hours (she's really good about helping you). Accounting made bearable is how i would title this class. Great Professor, she's funny, uses examples, and keeps you awake with in class follow alongs.

I had Professor Haun for both ACC 2010 and 2020, and they were some of the best courses I have taken throughout my college career. She makes her expectations very clear from the start and is always there to help when needed. She is an excellent lecturer and makes sure you know the material. I would recommend her to anyone taking accounting courses!

Professor Haun is a great teacher and very sweet if you try to get to know her! She's very passionate about accounting and really ties the class-material to her real world experience. Obviously theres a lot of hw, but do it, show up to class, and stop by her office and this class is a breeze!

Ms. Haun was a great teacher. Most people complain about her class, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's all about how you approach the class and your work ethic. Don't come to class expecting an A, you really have to earn it in her class. If you put effort in she will help you in every way possible.

Haun really desires to be a good teacher. But her lectures are awfully boring. She tries to explain by using big words to sound smart, but it usually just confuses you. She reads from the powerpoint.. then rewords what the powerpoint says. I would take it online. Going to class is the same thing as reading the powerpoints. Sweet lady, though.

Haun is amazing!! Be prepared to read, study, and do the homework, but if you put in the work you will learn AND get an A. If you do the homework the tests are more than fair. If you do not, you will find it challenging. If you are an acct. major you will need to take Cost later. This class will lay an amazing foundation for that TAKE HER

You will hear Haun is tough & she is. However she will help you. She knows her stuff & is very organized. PRINT HER POWERPOINTS BEFORE CLASS TO TAKE NOTES ON. Keep up with your homework. 4 tests. Multiple choice. Doesnt mean theyre easy. Will try to give you every point possible. If youre trying, she will notice. SO helpful if you go to office.

Haun is tough but good. Do all of your homework on time, show up to class, and study. She's nice and will help, but try to do it yourself first. Do the reviews, they really help. Really help. REALLY.

Mrs. Haun is a great teacher and is very very knowledgeable in accounting. All the HW is done on a computer program called Wiley. I thought this class was fairly easy but I did do all the HW and used the optional reviews on Wiley. If you learn the first 4 chapters very well, everything from then on is easy.

I love Professor Haun! She is a little harder than some but I think that's mainly because of the subject being hard to grasp for some people. She is very helpful! Just make sure you do the homework and go to class and you should be fine.

Come to class, ask questions and make your presence known. Do all of your homework and don't cheat on it and read the book when you don't understand. The class is only hard if you make it hard, she is very knowledgable but not a pushover. There is a lot of opportunity to get points so if you do everything and do okay you are sure to get a B.

Haun is extremely intelligent. Accounting is difficult so expect to work hard. I put a lot of effort into this class. You have to go in with a determined, hard-working attitude. Nothing is handed to you. Tests are multiple choice, 4 + final. I learned so much. Boy was it hard, but I got the A. It's just your work ethic that matters. Lazy won't fly.

I took Professor Haun online for ACC 2010. Her videos were extremely helpful, but I definitely recommend taking her on-campus classes. She really motivates you to work hard & soak in what you are learning in class. She gives you all of the material you need in order to succeed. Prof Haun has motivated me to work even harder in order to do well.

Amie Haun is one of the best teachers UTC has to offer. Not only does she share invaluable experience from her time as the CFO of Southern Tool Steel, she's passionate about the material. Be warned that she has no time for slackers, and that her class demands several hours of study a week. Not for the faint of heart. But you will learn so much.

She is makes the class fun with her sarcasm and real life story examples. She KNOWS her stuff!! Is very open to office visits and after class questions. Will go over it with you til you get it. She provides all the sources you would need to succeed-- utilize handouts, read the book, PRINT OUT POWERPOINTS. Professor Haun was great! I took her hybrid Acc2020 class. Anytime I had question or needed help I could email her and she was always quick to respond. She was in constant communication with the class via email. Community from another technical community college where this was not the case, her willingness to help and communicate gave me encouragem

No pain no gain! And boy does it hurt! I have never worked so hard for a class like I have ACC 2010 and 2020, but the outcome was amazing. She is the absolute best professor at UTC. Sure the material was hard, but she uses real life experiences to correspond with the material. Use/save every resource she gives you. It will help you in the long run

Amie Haun is by far the best professor at UTC! She works very hard to make sure that you succeed in class and in your professional career. She is always willing to help you if you ask, but don't wait until the last minute. When she gives you advise, LISTEN! She gives you everything you need to succeed, and remember "No Pain, No Gain!"

I took Professor Haun for both Accounting 2010 and 2020. There is a lot of homework, but don't let that scare you. She is only trying to get students to wrap their head around the subject. I took this class during the Summer so it was VERY difficult to keep up with the material as we were taking tests almost every week. Her tests were hard and 1 test in particular had 80 MC. But overall Haun is a great professor that does a good job at weeding out people that do not belong in Accounting. She also cares a lot about her students.

Her tests are pretty difficult but she is a great professor. She cares a lot about her students and their professional growth. I am an Accounting major and she is the ONLY professor that has talked intensively about the different certifications you can receive. If you are ever confused about anything she is always willing to help! PS lots of HW .

With any accounting class work has to be put in if you want an A or B, but Professor Haun does a good job at explaining information and giving you access to homework and other materials to pass the class. It isn't easy but if you are willing to learn you will see the results. Going to class and then going home to do the homework all helps

One of the best professors I have had in a long time. There is a lot of homework, but it is all preparing you for the test (it's not just pointless busy homework.) Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended as that's where she explains how to do everything! She's a great help and won't make you feel dumb ever. Does not offer extra credit!

You may dislike Haun at first, but the longer you take her class you'll grow to love her. She knows her stuff so well and really cares that you understand it. She's tough as heck but she is a fantastic professor and if I was an accounting major I would take her as many times as I can. You have to work for it, but it's worth it.

Accounting is not an easy subject. Anyone leaving her negative reviews most likely put forth any 0 effort in her course. College is more than showing up, its actually intaking info. You have to apply what she teaches, use the resources she offers online (AKA NOT JUST SKIM THEM!) & youll be good. She is a badass but loves her job and students!

Haun is the best accounting professor. Everyone says she is tough, but the subject itself is tough. If you do the optional reviews on Canvas, you will do well on the tests. Just study well and you will be fine. She often teaches ahead of schedule so sometimes you don't have to come to class unless you have a question.

This professor is tough. That being said, if you do the homework on time, and do the optional reviews, you can make it a lot easier on yourself. She does take attendance and the lecture feels a little slow but she answers any questions you might have pretty well. I can't speak on upper-level accounting but for the lower level she was pretty solid

Go to class, and she will help you understand the material covered in the text in ways that really make sense! There is a ton of homework, but every single bit of it is worth it. If you perform well on the homework assignments and really understand what you're doing, you're sure to do well on the exams and earn a high grade in the class.

Dr. Pendleton is one of my favorite professors this semester. Coming into this class with no coding experience was daunting but they made it so manageable, while also thinking about how to cater this online semester easier to us.

Not revolutionary, but really great as long as you're willing to work to understand the material. She obviously cares about the subject and the students' futures. A clear and thorough instructor. You can often get through just by paying close attention to the lectures. Watch the lectures then read the textbook; It's way easier than vice versa!

If you want to learn Accounting take Haun! I changed my major to Accounting because of her class. Use every resource she gives you and put in the work to make it click. Taking Haun for Accounting will benefit any business major that wants to learn and be aware of the accounting side of their business.

This class requires you to put in a lot of extra hours and effort. If you are an average student, you will receive an average grade. The tests are no joke and the homework is hard. You will 100% get what you put into the class. If my peers had put in as much effort in the class as they did in complaining, they might have gotten an A too.

Go to class every day or you definitely won't do well. She has office hours and is accessible if you need to reach her outside of class. This is not an easy A class, so you have to put in the effort. This class is not difficult if you put an effort to learning the material and if you are an accounting major she specifically goes over stuff we will need to know in our careers. I met with her several times and she is not intimidating and is very friendly and helpful.

Amie Haun is the best professor I've ever had in my entire collegiate career (I'm currently a senior). She inspired me to pursue Accounting and reach my full potential. There is a special place in my heart for Professor Haun, and everyone at UTC who has to take Accounting principles I & II should strive to have her as their professor.

I think Amie Haun is a good professor that explained a lot of the concepts in class with real life examples that she had first hand experience with. To succeed in this class you just have to put a lot of time into studying the material as the concepts can be tricky. Dr. Haun is the best, truly cares about her students; there are several ways to make sure you get a good grade. Like extra credit for each test (not much, could be more, but still worth doing) all the homeworks & some quizzes are open til the end of the semester, meaning if you got a bad grade 3 months ago you can still go back and fix it.
