I took amirology and he's the best science teacher i have ever had. i wish he would teach botany. he's pretty hard however, but he makes you earn your grade, i recommend him to all students if you want to further yourself in biology. and if you see him at sho mi's he makes diphylobothum latum jokes.

Took the class to fill my science requirement and walked into potential disaster. Be ready to study! Cant get an A without many hours behind your notes. Only class I really really learned something in all semester! Great teacher and makes lectures entertaining as possible considering the subject

oh man this man is so funny, sometimes its hard to focus in lecture because he always...and i mean always goes off on a tangent but its sooo funny when he does!You have to study your lecture notes every night and expect quizes on a regular basis but the class was so much fun to be in! Best prof. I?ve ever had. I now have a BS in Biology from UCLA. He?s my academic reference for grad school. Interested in biology? I recommend Amir. Work hard & you?ll be prepared for up/div classes, which are more difficult & have much more info.

He's a koo teacher makes u read your notes everynight from the beginning to the end and makes korny jokes. But other than that u have to Earn a A work hard and u'll pass the class.

Kinda crazy at times, asks "Am I making some sense?" like 50 times a class. Funny antics and a laugh riot. BUT...he's a good teacher. Gotta study them notes and keep focused to pass.

His lectures are funny, make you laugh, and easy to remember the concept. I remember he said that 3 things that make bio students to remember are sex, violence, and drawings. So, I always keep these in my mind. Overall, excellent professor.

this class is really challenging, you have to study to pass! during labs all you do is look through slides and models to know the parts and functions. Quizzes are every week and two parts to exams: lecture and lab. No homework. he makes the subject interesting and tells stories and makes jokes..he is such a dork you can't help but laugh at them..

This dude is like the best prof I have ever had. He's hard but he makes it interesting. He likes to make jokes and tell funny stories just to keep us awake and it help us remember the material. He's well mannered and wont give us false information if he is unsure. Problem is if you want to pass his class you have to earn it. Study is the key.

His lectures are very interesting and he is a very good teacher. this class is difficult but if you study you will do fine. he is always willing to help students and do not be shy about fighting for his attention in lab. he is very approachable and you should record his lectures to catch material that you miss.

Dr. Amir is a great professor!!! he knows the material well. get ready to learn about all the slithery, nasty, crawling little animals. even cockroaches... his multiple choice exams can have few tricky questions. there is a lot of stuff to know so study hard. study lecture notes and read book. greatttt humor. gotta love him for that!!!!

Amir is a fantastic professor. I took his class my first sem. I now have over 60 units and have attended classes in two states. HE IS STILL BY FAR THE BEST professor I have experienced. He really cares about the students and wants you to succeed. Read your notes from beginning to end everyday like he says and you will earn an "A".

Amir is such a good professor ever!!! He is extremely funny and tries to make the class as enjoyable as possible. There is homework but very seldom. Exams are quite easy if you do what he said - "Review your note everyday at night before you go to sleep." This is his top motto which is reasonable and understandable. I wish I could take him again.

They best teacher I had at Delta. He is passionate about Biology and his students. He truely believes that his students can become what ever they want to be. I recommend him highly. You will need to study a lot but his class is awesome... I actually miss amirology.

I had a lot of fun with the online course. Lots of quizzes but there's plenty of time and you get to take the tests twice. There are also a lot of discussions so don't fall behind with those. Easy points. Prof Assadi-Rad was really helpful.

Great teacher. Do not underestimate this class! He will tell you exactly how long you have to study each night and how to do it. Do what he says, or you will FAIL. It's overwhelming at first, but you get used to it. Labs are purely memorization of slides/models/specimens, no actual labs. 5 Tests (w/5 lab practicals), and a final. EC rare.

Excellent teacher, extremely challenging especially if paired with other classes. But the great kind where a B makes you feel extremely proud. With everything together, I slept average 3 hours per night and all nighters every other week. But it has been my favorite class so far and I would gladly take it again. Amir, like many teachers, is not that great with a computer; there will be obvious mistakes randomly. So many students were complaining about how -hard- the class was that I dug through the chat room for laughs. This was seriously such a easy class that I placed no priority on it. Not to say I did not learn anything, it was just an really easy A.

Zoology was the most difficult class I have ever taken! Amir is an amazing person though... he is so positive and really tries to help students achieve success in the course.RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING you have to study hours a day. This class is not a "cram the night before" kind of course. TONS of information, you'll be thrilled if you can get a B!

Good professor. Class is not hard if you put the time in it. Class is very doable. Lab test is memorizing so is test. I recommend tape recorder and listen to it. Can't believe I am saying this, but this class don't require textbook or lab manual if you know what you are doing in class. An A is not hard to get. He is very funny, makes class fun. It's all up to you and he leave it up to you- He presents the material to you- the rest is all you.

For me he was the best teacher Ever, I learned so many things from him. I would not change this experience for anything. He is very demanding but that pushes you to keep doing good. There is alot of memorization, just tape record the lecture, and the lab, and of course study them at least twice and you'll do good. I loved his clasS.

I love Zoology, even though my poor test taking abilities fail to prove such! This is an excellent class if you hope to go on to do fieldwork and, in my case, Ornithology. Make sure to know about all the various animals!

I can't believe of some of the bad comments I'm reading...don't get me wrong, he is hard just because of memorization but he keeps it interesting and gives you ALL the tools you need. Really he is a very good teacher. Failed the first time cus i slacked but taking him again and he still is awsome. you do need to study A LOT though.

ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS @ DELTA! He is very helpful if you take the time out to ask and learn. He gives great tips for the class and for life in general. His test are easy if your well prepared. Study hard, with others, and make sure your clear on the material. Essay questions can be a little tricky if he is looking for a specific answer.

After your done with the class it feels so good to have put in all the work and passed with a good grade. I don't understand how this class could be hard and I hope it gets even harder! Those of you who complain need to study and stop being lazy, I was taking organic,zoology,calculus and some other GE classes and still managed an A, I think the highest in the class. Not hard unless you complain and don't study a bit everyday. Overall awesome guy.:)

VERY GOOD. He teaches you how to properly study. His class is extremely hard if you want an A. Study all the diseases he mentions and review all the lab slides and models. His final exam is crazy. But he's a good guy and really does care about you.

Dr. Assadi-Rad is a great professor. He cares about his students and gives life lessons. The class is hard but he gives out more than plenty of study tips. If you want an A do the questions he gives you and rewrite the notes you take with the notes he gives you. Study by yourself if you can explain the concepts to a fellow student you will do well.

His assignments are straight forward. If you keep on top of them all, you will do fine. I did everything that was assigned and he gave me an A. He has a very compassionate personality and he cares about his students.

Dr. Amir is one of the most interestingfunny instructors I have had. Very clear on what he wants in the class. The class itself is NOT easy but if you put in a lot of time to study, then the tests should come to you naturally. Lab practicals and Tests are pretty much straight forward. He does care for his students, and is always there to help.

LOVE THIS TEACHER. Extremely helpful and approachable. There is never any surprises on test because everything is given in the lecture. I put his class as easy in terms of everything is straight forward. Its really just memorizing facts. The amount of effort you put in is exactly the result youre gona get. This is a 5 unit class and requires your participation and studying outside of the classroom. Receiving a high score is not impossible. Watch and take careful notes on the powerpoint lecture videos and constantly study the lab material and you should be fine! He wants to help his students but you must ask! Always come prepared to learn.

I am shocked to see all the bad reviews on this teacher.. yes his grammar is poor but he is extremely helpful. He cares very much about his students and encourages you to pass. The first two exams are hard but the last 3 are just tests to see how much information you memorized. He helped me a lot and I definitely recommend this teacher to everyone!

Hands down the best teacher I have had at delta. His class seems hard but he prepares you for when you transfer out to a university cause his class seems so easy in hindsight. He is a man who is passionate about what he does and wants to help others find their passion as well. The ExamsQuizzes require you to study, but he provides outlines.

Make no mistake, this is a HARD class you are getting yourself into. The amount of criterea in this class is insane! Tests are tough, lectures are madatory, and labs are highly recommended. With that being said, Amir is probaly the most understanding professsor I've had so far. He genuinely wants you to wants you to do well, just dedicate yourself!

I took his online class and it was difficult because it required A LOT of reading. If you do not read the textbook, don't expect to pass. It was an interesting class so it was not boring. online test are difficult because you have an hour to complete it which is not enough time. Overall difficult class but it is passable. Must read and take notes!

Dr. Assadi-Rad is an EXCELLENT professor! Dedicate hours daily to study the old and new material from lecture videos, power points, and lab slides/models, you'll succeed. Studying material over and over for hours may get repetitive but its key, especially for lab slides and models. He makes lecture interesting and fun to learn. He's the best!

Professor Amir is one of the best Biology professors I've had. If you don't pass his Zoology course then you might not want to be a science major in general. He gives you everything you need to pass the class, all you have to do is categorize and memorize. If you're not one whose good at memorizing then you'll probably have a tuff time in his class

This class is an easy A if you do the work. The labs, as long as you complete them, easy A. Quizzes/exams came straight from the quiz questions he gives. The only curveball is the lab practical exams. Ask him to review the slides on the overhead projector. Ask him to go over the study model with you. If you do those two things and study it, easy A.

This class is not an easy A. You really have to put in the time. I highly recommend going to SI. I must add this was my favorite biology class ever and my favorite teacher at SJDC. If I could I would love to take this class again. I hope I'm making some sense?

I had to retake this class after failing it the first time. The only hard thing about this class is the amount of time you have to put into studying. Literally studied 3 hrs a day and it worked. Answer all the 'questions to begin with" and study the models and slides. You can retake 1 exam which will replace your og exam. Tip: study everything.

He cares about his students, more like a parent than a professor. My tip to get a good grade in this class are going over your notes before bed every night.

This class is very challenging but if u remember the PowerPoint and questions at beginning u should do got on test and quizzes. People struggle on lab practicals which are 50 different slides and models with hard questions need to ask questions on those all the time. He really helps students out even the one that know more than him. Good luck!!!!

Dr. Amir Assadi-Rad was hands down one of the best teachers I have had in my life. He is very caring and gives you life lessons, I am so glad I took his class. Never hesitate to ask questions because he is more than happy to answer them. He has a passion for Biology and he passes that passion to his students. I will definitely take him again.

Where do I begin?!? Professor Amir cares about his students, and I was scared to take Biology because I never took a STEM class, but he made the class really easy to handle over the summer in the course of six weeks. I found Professor Amirs book very helpful because it tells you everything you need to know about getting into medical school. It also talks about study habits and be more successful. The name of the book is Medical School: The Nuts and Bolts of Getting In. School, and it has a fair price. You can purchase it in the book store or amazon.

Honestly, Prof. Amir is super chill he literally gives full points for just trying on discussions and mini-essays. 10 graded discussions and 10 mini-essays and 4 extra credit each 10p I don't know how people still failed I googled everything. His research paper is graded super strictly but explains everything in his syllabus. Always look n modules.

Amir Assadi-Rad is a very inspirational professor. He motivates student to be academically successful and as a person. His class is a little challenging but its doable you really need to manage your time and study for his class. Theres 5 exams and 2 Lab practicals. He gives study guides for all. Just make sure you study and you will be good.

Professor is nice and caring. The class is very challenging but I dedicated a lot of my time studying for this class. The exams are literally from his PP and he has lectures online, can't fail lecture exams unless you don't study. There's a google photo album with all the lab stuff labeled ask around or MESA STUDENTS. If u want an A study for it!!!

I didn't like science classes, but he made science fun and understanding. he really motivates you to do better. He tells you exactly what will be on the quizzes and exams, so all you have to do is study and the there's 2 lab practicals, but they're doable. A tip I'll give is that find people the 1st day of class to make a study group.

This class was good. Easy A if you pass the 4 exams. If you study you will be fine. The labs are easy. The only issue with this class is the lectures are online and he doesnt do any of it in class. He expects you to read it on your own. I didnt read 1 lecture. I just focused on his sample test questions he pulls questions straight from there.

Hes a really good teacher. He has youtube lectures on his lecture slides. He also does live zoom lectures where you can attend and ask questions. If you dont have time to attend, it isnt mandatory since you can also just watch the zoom lecture recordings. He also provides many questions listed in modules that you can study for tests and quizzies

This class is tough, and you have to try really hard. He is great at explaining material, though if you are unsure, ASK questions! The Professor forces students to work harder, thats why I liked this him and why I will be taking him again. He also is very fair in his grading, gives no students special treatment.

His grading system needs a ton of work, but he is honestly a really sweet person. No extra credit was given in this class, and very test heavy. He is also really great at lecturing but be warned this is not an easy class. Study a lot, ask questions, and word essay questions very specific to the lecture and you will do fine.

His lectures were very clear, the labs were straightforward, and the grading was clear. He tells you exactly what you need to to know for the midterm/final. I took him for summer so everything was very fast-paced, but just by taking notes on the lecture (not even reading the textbook), I was able to do well. You reap what you sow in his class.

He does his best to explain things to you, make sure to attend his meetings and watch his lectures because he explains all the PowerPoints. If you have questions make sure to ask him, there is a lot to study but you just need to organize yourself and ask for help. Loved his class and learned a lot.

Professor is a good guy. That said... His labs are online so he uses yt videos and pp slides for them. The issue is that none of the slides are labeled, so there's a lot of confusion for those that aren't bio majors or are new to the subject. Otherwise, decent class and professor.

I took Bio11 online over the summer. I went into this class knowing that it was not going to be easy. It is a lot of information in a short amount of time. So, expect to have to do a lot of work. Professor Amir Assadi-Rad was very helpful and caring and made himself available for zoom meetings 3 times per week to answer any questions.

This is Science class, DO NOT EXPECT EASY A. With that being said do these and do not listen to others you and you will get A:do not miss class, ask him question and record him ask questions about models and slides he will go over them and take note print out the lecture and Lab write down EVERYTHING that he says. Rewrite your NOTES WATCH LECTURES.

Good professor! Organization system just takes a bit to get used to, no big deal: ALL work needed to be done is in "assignments" and resources are in "modules." He gives plenty of time to finish work and encourages looking up answers! Workload = worksheets, lab sims, v short discussions. Txtbook not needed. I'd pay attention to acing the lab tests!

He is a very nice and caring professor. He has two zoom meetings every week where he covers all the material. He answers all questions. You might have trouble navigating his assignments because it is confusing in the beginning but once you get the hang of it everything is fine. There is a good amount of work but if you keep up you should be fine.

Took Bio1 with Amir as a prerequisite for Bio2 and I gotta say he is a nice professor who tests heavy. I will say that everything on the quizzes and exams are found in his lecture videos so it was straight forward. He even explains to students on how to study for his class which helped me! Amir is a caring and nice professor who wants his students to pass. His lectures are significantly heavier than bio1 which takes a lot of time to study. If you took him for bio1 then bio2 his teaching is exactly the same and straight forward. The course has a lot of information so take the time to study hard and watch his lectures. *Took fall 2023*

It is ALOT of work so make time because 6 exa. 5 lab prac, 3 GP, etc. Will catch up to u esp. @ end. It's challenging but not impossible. One of the most caring and supportive profs there are. If you need help, ASK. He WILL go out of his way to help you. Make group chats, use resources etc. Know your SPELLING & do NOT procrastinate. No surprises.

This is a very hard class, so do not procrastinate and study a lot. He's a very caring and kind professor. I really enjoyed my time in his class. Don't be afraid to ask him any questions or clarifications on lectures, labs, etc, he will answer any questions you may have.

When he tells you the work load, it seems very scary but its really not. Even though he says theres a bunch of stuff to do each week, the assignments are fairly easy. He is a great teacher and incredibly caring man, but there are a lot of quizzes, two per week. If you watch the lectures a few times and pay attention to them, you'll do fine.

Really really nice guy, cares a lot about his students. Don't get scared and drop it the first week (which is what i did the first time i took the class), you will be fine.

You'll have to learn ALOT of small details on every organism Take it easy 1 semester and take his class + maybe 1 easy one. You'll be spending alot of time studying for Bio 2 than you think Quiz every Tues + Thurs & Lecture + Lab Exam every 2-3 weeks. Take your time making DETAILED NOTES every lecture then review like CRAZY. Keep it up for your A+
