Amir is an awesome teacher. If you're actually serious about learning, then he does it well. VERY VERY enthusiastic about his statistics. I've heard horror stories about stats, but I pulled off an A+. And I suck at math. CHEBICHEV!!
Amir ensures that everyone understands the material. He's a funny and enthusiastic prof that approaches teaching in a very different style. Amir is definetly a prof that you want!
Nice guy, very helpful.
He loves what he does and he is passionate about what he is teaching. He relies on textbook very much, that is the only down side of his teaching. He is smart, polite and a true gentleman
Should 've been a comedian instead.
Amir is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's very enthusiastic about what he's teaching and manages to keep the class engaged. He'll tell you specifically what to highlight in the textbook, which makes exam studying easy. You want this teacher!
Amir is one of the cutest teachers in Capillano college. I recommend everyone to take a class with him.
He doesn't what computer is, i don't know why he can teach in capcollege.
she is by far the worst teacher on the campus, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES, all of the good ratings on here are her peers and probably her! He is absolutly a bad teacher!
HE is not a good teacher because he never prepare for his class!
He is one of the best teachers i've ever had. Nice professor. You can get at least A- in his statistic'class if you listen his lecture.
Very helpful
Horrible!!!Just wasting your time and money, but you want a easy course and higher mark,,, he is favorable. He seems never be able to finish his lecture in a single class. Most time you need to read after class. He is a shame for Capcollege.
Amir was awesome. I had him for management and computing. He tell you what will be on tests and quizzes and is a very fair marker. He's hilarious. Take him if you can, he's one of the best teachers at cap.
Amir is very enthusiastic about the subjects he teaches and can make a boring topic seem more interesting. He's a really nice guy. The only negative is that he's a little disorganized.
I have taken, management,Bcpt, info system 201, Stats 210. He is very enthusiastic about his job. Often picks on the back of the class room to participate (sit up front if your silent). Great teacher, funny, sometimes boring. At times he is extremely hard to understand.Offers good 1 on 1 help in his office. 210 was very difficult, but easy marker.
He is a very nice man; however, the whole class was a waste of time. I want my tuition money back. When he's enthusiastic, its about something off topic, he runs on a lot of tangents. He tells you what sentences to highlight in the text, but doesnt teach the theory. Very unorganized and unstructured! Stresses you out 2 weeks before class ends.
waste of time and a waste of money. out of all my profs at capilano - amir was by far the worst. does not communicate well. so unorganized. you learn very little from this man. i want my tuition money back so i can take a better course. everyone told me not to take his class, but i didnt listen - i should have.
He is extremely nice, although be aware that he talks alot during the class which can get a little frustrating when your trying to finish all the assigned work. I recommend him to anyone looking to pass this class without doing much. He tells you everything that will be on the tests!!! It?s almost impossible to get a bad grade in his class.
Amir is one of the BEST profs at Cap, make sure to take AT LEAST one class with him. He is helpful, extremely nice and if you attend classes you know exactly what will be on the exam. He might be a bit unorganized but if you want a good, helpful prof, he is the one!
Its murder having to sit in his class, and listen to him regurgitate the text book. He fails at making the content in the course relevant to Business. Talks in Information technology language which is advanced and not easy to follow. Course outline on Moodle is from previous semesters ? therefore dates are incorrect and frustrating to follow. His
Impossible to get less than very high grade with this guy, but otherwise kind of chaotic. I would NOT take another class with him. Total lack of notes, project requirements or other essential information; no real use of Moodle. Consequently you spend too much time guessing what is wanted. just not a good teacher. Friendly though.
are you kidding me. He's far the best teacher I've had at Cap. Extremely intelligent. Very Helpful.
Read the textbook because that is all that is on the exams. He knows what he's teaching but the lectures are so boring that it's hard to absorb anything. Try hard on the exams and the project and you will do fine. Wouldn't take another class with him for sure!
Amir is one of the BEST teachers at Cap. He makes Stats so much fun. You have to give credit to a teacher that can make a boring subject fun. I love his unique sense of humour. He promised us that if we followed exactly his advice, he would guarantee us an A and he delivered big time. Don't fall behind because you will never catch up.
Amir is really enthusiastic. And really its up to you how well you do in the class, sometimes his teaching style is a bit rushed/scattered
Very hard to understand teacher. I pretty much taught myself everything. But he's very nice and tries very hard to get his point across
Not so Organized that put you in ambiguity. You will kill yourself to understand what you need to do on the projects but exams are very easy. I don't really know what to say. He's a nice guy, could be helpful but attending his classes is chaotic.
Amir's class is kind of boring. The RAT is openbook and i get high marks for all of it. THe midterm is not hard and if you study, you will be fine with it!! However, Amir is a nice guy.
worst class i have taken so far. extremely unclear, no clear syllabus. the RAT tests and midterm aren't hard if you study for it but the lecture is completely useless so you basically have to be self taught. TRY TO STAY AWAY
Disorganized, no clear instruction, often changes his mind and makes things up as he goes. That said, nice guy and generally enthusiastic.
Amir is the most UNCLEAR/DISORGANIZED teacher I have ever had. He is smart, but describing concepts is a challenge for him, you can easily summarize something he teaches in once sentence; where it takes him 30mins. He will get his classes mixed up. He generally makes up classes/projects as he goes. NO CLEAR OUTLINES FOR ANYTHING. Avoid.
HORRIBLE TEACHER. Made the entire class PISSED OFF. dont take him . He is immature, and pathetic. First thing he does in class, is ask a student what he taught last class. COMPLETELY unorganized. Unclear with assignments. takes favourites.
DON'T TAKE A SINGLE CLASS WITH THIS GUY. He will burn you to the ground. He's confusing and inconsistent. Moreover, you will never know what he wants. What he says in class contradicts what he puts on moodle. He's a nice guy though (if that means anything to you).
Amir pushes you to do a lot of work, and for the how IT works assignment doesn't accept BS. By at the end of semester you learn DFD ERD like the back of your hand and you can ace the exams!
I suggest take any course Amir teaches. I guess the pissed off student that has posted three similar posts for him is unfair to him. Amir didn't accept her presentation and she had to repeat her presentation. That is why she is pissed off. Me and all my friends got perfect mark in our assignment. Amir is truly a caring teacher.
Do NOT take classes with this teacher. He is confusing at best and constantly makes mistakes while teaching. He also never shows up to class on time. His lectures are useless and he does not prepare you for the final exam. STAY AWAY!
Do not bother.
The other class I took with him was pretty bad - however, he's a good stats teacher!
Fantastic teacher.
Amir is AMAZING. One of the best teachers I have ever had. Made learning statistics fun!
Very considerate
Funny guy but really bad prof. Offers help but made me feel stupid if I didnt know the answer to a question. Get ready to do every question in the book and go get more from him. Overall course isnt too hard, he just makes it way too difficult to understand and he scares you into thinking you'll fail missing one lecture. I recommend pre-reading
Amir is a really nice guy, but a poor prof. Project and test criteria was confusing at best. I was fearful that I wouldn't pass because he was so confusing. The lectures were brutally boring. The grading criteria was difficult to follow. Having said that, he's probably the best choice you have if you want to take this course at Cap.
Complicates all simple concepts. Worst teacher.
Amir has a passion for teaching and it shows. He explains things the best he can and does not hesitate to elaborate. In fact, he encourages you to ask questions and he will stop the lecture to assist you. If you ask a question, he will tell you to come up and he'll guide you to solve it in front of the class. He truly wants his students to do well
Most Knowledgeable Most Caring
Just a head's up if you have trouble with statistics. Amir's lectures consist of messy drawings on the board that end up confusing you after you read the text. Do not bother emailing him as he will not respond. Somewhat of a language barrier.
Awesome teacher, at least for statistics. I can see how other class might be less good though. He's super passionate about statistics and that really shows in his teaching. He does his best to ensure that you understand what's going on. He's very forward though, expect to be called out to answer questions. Funny guy and very nice. Awesome prof!
Amir is great teacher for stats. Just do assigned homework and don't miss classes especially in second half of the semester. Always ready to help. Grading is fair. Overall good professor.
Starts off difficult but that's because it lays down the base for the rest of the course. Every chapter he teaches builds on each other so don't miss classes or you'll be lost completely next class. Always be listening and be ready to answer when he asks a question. By the end of it, I learned so much about statistics and Amir made it fun to come!
Expects you to be able to do all the stat questions in the book even though they are barely touched in class. Class time consists of him reading off slides and doing problems that are already solved in the book. Would not recommend taking 301 with him
Amir has changed my life. After i took Business Statistics with him, with an A+. I dramatically changed. All of the following courses i took got a minimum of B-. He made me love the Academic studies. In stats class, after the final exam, i kept doing stats questions! That is how much he made me love stats. I Took all of his courses.
Amir's a nice guy funny comes off to strong tho his mid terms are long but he give you extra time for them. keeps the entertaining .be sure to do all of the practice problems not just the minimally recommended ones if you want to get a good mark. Participate in class and he'll give u an amir dollar which Is 1 bonus point towards your final exam
He solves so many questions until everybody in class gets it.
I found that he had absolutely no structure to the course (BADM 201) when he was teaching us. We would allocate so much time in class to work on stuff that had little to do with what we were being tested on. We ended up not having enough time to learn 1 and a half chapters before the final exam, and we were still tested on them. He is also rude
Amir is an amazing Professor. I took his BADM 210 and 201 in one semester. He gives his personal cell phone to call him if there is a question(can call him till 10 PM)! I certainly did that many time. Those Amir dollars are great. Looking forward to taking BADM310. There is a reason for his method of teaching if you really want to learn.
Best Statistic teacher. I had taken the Math 101 before. However, Amir makes everything clear. His way of questioning makes you think are understand the concepts. He was always available to help.
He is inspirational. I can't believe the fact that he knows so much about so many subjects.
Amir isn't a great teacher for info systems, he doesn't provide clear information on what will be tested and even if you do study it doesn't help. He is consistently late and expects you to stay after class ends. He doesn't provide any information for the group project and there isn't much structure in the class. You have to attend to learn access.
Horrible teacher for this course. 1. Does not provide a rubric for the group project 2. Late to class 3. Is not clear 4. Does not provide enough teaching for a pupil to full grasp and be a competent user in access. Never again. PS: Multiple Choice is fine
Amir is not a good choice for Info system, he was constantly late for classes and would spend so much time setting up his computer. His lectures had no structure and he complicated every single easy concept, nor did he provide help for students for both midterm exams and final project. AVOID!
Not a good teacher for Info system. He was prepared for the lectures at all, nor could he anwer the questions aksed by the students properly. Be prepared to be self-taught for the whole semester if you choose him
Amir is a good guy. To get a good grade: memorize all the key terms from the textbook, have a good understanding of ERD's, & be able to replicate what he has taught on access during a test. Unfortunately these lessons can be very painful to sit through. However, I strongly recommend seeing Amir in office hours ASAP if you need help.
Amir made stats an amazing class. Very passionate and hilarious. He tells you whats on the midterms and final. If you do all the recommended problems, you'll get at least a B. Wants you to do well, will explain things 100 times if he has to, just to make sure everyone is on board.
Hands down, the best Statistics instructor that Cap U offers; highly recommend you you to take BADM 210 with Amir. Above and beyond the latter, Amir is a very caring individual whom is always seeking to cater to his student's success. Extremely approachable. As long as you are taking lecture notes and following upon similar examples; u got your A!
Amir is a caring instructor. He knows what he teaches. Do your term research as he wants and you will do well.
Amir is fantastic at teaching statistics, articulates himself clearly, and is very knowledgeable. He is however very disorganized, and irritating. he was 5-15 minutes late for every class for the entire term, often printed the wrong amount of exams, and will have students write on the board and scream HELP if the class takes too long to answer.
Amir is not a good teacher for info system. Even though he seems to know a lot about the computer system, he could not explain things well and his attitude was problematic: he was constantly late for classes and often times spent 10-15 minutes to set up his computer. The marking on assignment was not clear at all so were his lectures.
Amir does not teach 201 this semester, I took info sys with him last Spring. His lectures are fantastic. He knows his stuff. He walks you through every step of access. He expects a lot. I did what he asked and I got A. Do not skip classes though.
I have stat with Amir this semester. He is the best Instructor I have ever had in my life. He is always available to help you. Solves lots of examples in class. He is funny. Gooooood morning :)
Amir is a bro. Took him for BADM 201 and 210. For 210 he teaches exactly what is on every quiz and test. Hes right when he says you have no reason to not get an A. I thought stats would be hard but its been easy. Make sure you volunteer to get his extra credit points, they really add up and they help A LOT. He loves it when his students do well.
Info systems was brutal. The course itself is a lot of work. Dry material that makes no real sense. Study in groups and memorize as much as you can. Amir will try to give you every opportunity to do well. Make sure you meet with him as a group to go over the final project You will get a 100% if you do, he even tells u this. Tests are hard tho
Amir is one of the worst instructors at Cap U and my friends agree. He is very disorganized and his lectures are extremely confusing and messy. He gets students to do the problems on the board to avoid teaching. His tests were difficult and unfair, plus he is unhelpful and rude if you ask a question.
Amir is a very good teacher but the class is a little hard.
Amir is a really excited and funny instructor. His lecture is clear to understand. there is no homework on this course. if you are active in the class, you will get "Amir Dollar", which can be bonus points in final exam. You cannot miss any classes, otherwise you won't understand the next lectures.
worst teacher ever. the lecture is confused, and he did not even know what he s doing every class. exams are super difficult, 90% of the students can not finish it. never tell us things about each exam. we need to come to school to take the review class! during the final period!!! why can he just go over it in the scheduled classes! and useless!!!
Amir is the best teacher I have had at Capilano. He is always in his office hour and ready to help. His exam problem solving session was wonderful. Tests everything in his exams but I learned a lot. Funny and caring.
Goood Afternoooon Amir, it was a wonderful semester. Thank you
Amir is the best teacher I've ever had. He definitely cares about his students and gives as much information as he can to help students pass his course. We are tested almost every other week but that pushed me to study hard. Stats ended up being my best class of the semester! Amir has a great sense of humour and knows what he's talking about.
This guy is amazing , he is funny and you will love his humour. he knows his materials you can challenge him and he loves it. It is so obvious he enjoys his classes and loves what he does. you have to study for the course but he is very helpful.
He knows his stuff, doesn't waste his time on powerpoints & overexplaining. Tells you exactly what's on your exams. So take notes of everything that's on the board. He recognizes hard work and can tell who is paying attention and isn't. He's one of the nicest profs I've ever had. will always be grateful for how much he helped me get a decent grade
I attended Amir's class at this spring term. His class was wonderful. His excellent teaching had made difficult materials much easier for students to follow and had made complicated formulas much easier for students to understand and to use. I highly recommend his class.
makes his students teach his class in exchange for his "amir dollars" and is super stuck up when you try n ask him questions one on one
Amir certainly knows his stuff. Course itself is a bit tedious but not difficult. His jokes are not very funny.
Amir is very smart and knowledgeable about statistics, he loves math. He made the course very easy to keep up with by splitting up the exams into smaller quizzes. He explains the concepts much better than the textbook and gives easier formulas to use. He gives you many chances to receive bonus marks and boost your mark. Very good for BADM210!
Amir's Information Systems class is something to stay away from. All the other teachers do it differently at Cap. He is the only one to persist with his own way of teaching it. He is very full of himself and he thinks he does a good job at explaining but in fact, he is only boosting his ego. He is a horrible marker and he doesn't answer emails.
He does this thing "Amir dollars" that are super unfair. Rewards people who are loud, penalizes those who don't try to answer everything. Completely arbitrary as to when he gives these things out and they boost your grade at the end of the year. Overall is fine, but its hard to follow some lectures. Very.... excitable.
Amir dollars are directed more towards extroverts. He gives excellent lectures, as the textbook is confusing and has errors, so don't miss it. Reachable outside of class but never in his own office during his stated 'office hours'. He is willing to help if you put in the effort. Tough course!!
Amir is truly incredible, I'm writing this review two years after I took his class because I can't stop thinking about how much I miss him. Never in my life did I think I would get a B in Stats but he forces you to pay attention with his yelling and bizarre anecdotes. God, what I wouldn't give to hear him yell good morning at me again. Miss you pal
Amir is the worst prof I have ever had at CapU. He calls out on people to answer questions in class and if you don't know the answer to it, he will make you feel horrible about yourself. He is so rude and will always raise his voice. He is very unorganized and doesn't show empathy for those who were struggling. Would NOT recommend him at all.
Amir is one of the best profs i have ever had! He is very helpful & clear. His classes are fun. Definitely one of the classes where you need to attend classes of youll fail! But classes are worth it. Whatever he teaches makes so much sense.
I took 2 courses with Amir in the same term, and he was excellent in both of them, particularly business statistics. His lectures are very fun and engaging, and you actually receive bonus marks on your final exam for paying attention and contributing to class discussions. Amir is also a very fair grader, so just make sure you know the content.
Showed up late 50% of the time, doesn't lecture but instead relies on you to watch youtube videos. 80% of the class failed the midterm...
I have never in my life gotten a grade below A, except for this course. He took so long to reply to my emails that I had to contact the faculty 3 times. No clear grading criteria and he simply grades you based on what he personally thinks is good and bad.
Amir is by far the BEST professor I have ever met. He actually loves teaching you can really feel his passion. If you are here to learn, you're in the right place. Just be cautious not to miss classes or else you will have a hard time studying yourself. Really EASY course if you don't miss class, I didn't study but paid 100% attention and got A+.
Amir is the most caring instructor ever. He gives you his cell phone. Allows you to have as many zoom meetings as you need to do your project perfectly.
Make sure you show up to classes and participate
Took this course with Amir and learned access database which I use at work everyday.
Amir is a great teacher, I took his 3 hour class and it was not boring or unentertaining at all. He is a very lively person and is very clear on how to do things. He will even stop the class and go help a single individual if they are behind and will stay after class to help them as well.
I never trust this website because here are the "C-" students who are looking for A+ classes. I was about to fail this class before the final exam, but I studied for the exam and got 94.5%. Tips for future students: listen carefully, note down everything, attend every class, and do the chapter questions.
Rude and condescending. Not understanding at all. Will embarrass you in front of the whole class. Passionate about the subject but that's it
He will put you on the spot and shame you if you do something wrong / contradict him. Gives NO INSTRUCTIONS, uses other professor's work constantly, will ask you to send pics of your pages in ur textbooks as "proof" of having the textbooks. Vague, does not know how to speak without yelling or interrupting, terrible experience overall.
He will fail you if you dont study all the time. Do not take him for badm 210. All other teachers are doing quizzes online. He is only one who want those on pen and paper . He does not know how to teach. This is the worst professor of capu.
Absolutely disrespectful, disorganized and rude professor. He truly makes you hate going to school. He needs to work on his behaviour and treat his students with dignity. No self respect at all in him as he comes to class 10 minutes late always. 0/10 rating wish I could give him here. He makes sick students run for doctor notes when they're sick
Amir is great! Go to class, do the practice questions, and watch the videos he provides online. Stats is a hard concept to grasp so doing the bare minimum is not gonna be enough but Amir was always ready to help both in class and at home, he literally gives you his phone number to call if you need help. He's a great prof, just put in the work.
He was great! I think he is funny!
you will not pass if you dont show up to class OR watch the videos before the classes. this man is a though grader omg. Get ready to actually study .Also he will literally snatch your phone if youre on it and he will call you out if you dont know answers and sometimes hell make you look dumb on purpose.
dont take him
Amir is an outstanding instructor. He explains complex concepts clearly and makes the material engaging and easy to understand. He provide his cell phone number for help. His lectures are well-structured, and exams align fairly with what's taught in class. If you put in the effort, you'll learn a lot and do. no phone in class
he dont know what hes doing
Amir is one of the best professors I've ever had. his lectures are fun and if you study you can easily get good marks.
