Professor Ameen is wonderful! She makes the material easy to understand, and the majority of her class is spent laughing at her stories. She gives you lots of opportunity for extra credit, is super flexible, and truly wants you to succeed. Her material is easy to understand and she's willing to go over it as many times as you need. Take her class!!

Prof. Ameen is great! Her lectures are thoughtful and engaging; infused with videos, games, and her playfulness. However, her tests are content filled. Its an intro class, so a lot is introduced... BUT, she is happy to guide you and the extra credit allows for recovery, so reach out and don't pass it up!

I personally recommend all students to take class with professor Amira Mohamed-Ameen if you are supposed to take any psychology class. I had PSY 100 with her. She is very good in her subject and her method of teaching is awesome. Once you are in her class, you will learn a lot. The exam is very easy if you follow up with your notes and blackboard.

Attendance is graded so just by showing up you are boosting your grade and vice versa. There are many ways to fix your grade so bombing your midterm won't kill you. She is really funny and in general easy to pay attention to. Good amount of work but not too much and nothing too hard. Pay attention and you'll do great.

She's very adorable and loves teaching students. She always gives you extra credit and designs the class that you can still pass the class even though you fail the mid-term exam or the final. You do not need a textbook, and all the materials will be taught by her. I love her lecture and the class activities. Make sure to attend class every day too!

Awesome professor, I'm not really that into psychology but she makes the class enjoyable. Not a bird class but not particularly challenging either, the workload is pretty light and although the exams definitely test your understanding, they are designed in such a way that they enable you to do well if you know the material.

Class is one of those where you can relax because she creates that type of environment. Her class is captivating and her teaching style is unique and easy to learn. Her tests are quite large but it's not hard if you pay attention in class because everything you need to know, she provides. Group projects to the max; find a good group and you're set.

I am only a freshmen at NOVA as of fall 2018 and this is my first rate ever on a professor. All I want to say is that Professor Ameen is fantastic and knows the subject she's teaching. She includes her life stories like working at Disney, training her brothers cat to love her on her command, and she even told us about her mom slicing her hand open.

Get 2 points for each day that you show up in the class. Each week, lecture topic has a quiz due before the class, prompts you to read the material. Instead of reading off powerpoints, she treats them as a guide and then lectures based off what she thinks is important to learn to understand the class. Honestly I had a blast in the class. I was worried because my last psych class was very based on the textbook. I enjoyed the activities in class, it kept me engaged. Very refreshing. Even the unexpected switch to online courses moved with ease.

I drove almost 4o miles to get to her class at Loudoun compass and it was worth it. Prof. Ameen makes things simple to understand. Classes went online during COVID-19 and it got much better bcz no more driving for me. It was the same kind of interactive lecture and I could go back to lectures to do the assignments as they were recorded and uploaded

During these rough times, the switch from a hybrid course to online has been pretty smooth in this course. In general, you can tell that the she is very passionate about what she teaches and she genuinely cares about her students. There are NO MIDTERM or FINAL EXAMS! There are short, easy quizzes following each chapter. A couple of papers to do, and a final project. Discussions were interesting, switching from in class to online during COVID was a challenge, but she removed a number of assignments to make it easier. She is funny, and laid-back. One of the best teachers ever!

Professor Amira is very knowledgeable in psychology and I loved her class. The class I chose was shorter from a normal 16 week class so there was more work however, she is fair in separating the amount of assignments due each week and she is very descriptive and clear in what she expects. The textbook provided great extra information for me. Loved

Just turn in group discussions, short projects, and small quizzes and you will have an easy A. You do not need to memorize or study anything, but need to think & use the info to do assignments.
