I'm taking him for MIS and he always starts class with a goofy meme or video to get us in a comfortable zone. He answers our questions and actually listens to what we want/need from the class.
Great professor. Actually listens to what his students desire out of the class and respects different ways of doing things. Make sure to take notes on the stuff you learn though because its easily forgettable. Exams are a bit hard, make sure to go over the notes that are done together. He goes off topic a time or two, but it helps regain focus
Great guy all around. Fun to hang around after class as well. Very good at teaching the subject. The ideal professor
Professor Lal is one of the best professors I've had at UOP so far. He made it his goal to make sure we understood everything about PowerBI and helped everyone individually about any career questions regarding business analytics as well.
Such a great professor. He made sure each student had a clear understanding of material. He is flexible with assignments. Attendnace is mandatory best busi 100 professor.
108 is very unstructured and confusing. You have to buy Mindtap for $150 with a lot of homework on it that doesn't always correlate with class. His TA also grades his exams so it's hard to understand your exam grade as you don't get feedback on them. Other than that he is a cool person but I personally did not enjoy his class or teaching style.
AMAZING Professor! He is very understanding and easy to speak with when help is needed! We had 4 exams and a couple of quizzes throughout the semester. He also added a final Project and gave a lot of extra credit opportunities.
I LOVEEEEEEE Amit!. Genuinly a kind soul and great professor. You actually will learn in this course, just be ready to spend hours on learning powerBi because it's actually so fun when you learn it. I 100% reccomend you to take lal just keep up and make sure to stay on track.
Professor Lal is a very understanding and caring professor and I would take him again. However, if you don't show up to class, you will be super lost. On top of that, his TA is heavily relied on in the course. You can't reach professor Lal half of the time. Still a really great class, just wish it had more structure.
Dr. Lal is not only passionate about teaching relevant skills current to industry but has inspired my further studies in business analytics. Class is largely project-based including a Power BI analytics project, and he is happy to give excellent career advice. Taking 100 and 108 with Lal have been some highlights of my college career.
Prof. Lal is a very good professor ! He's very passionate and makes class fun and engaging, that being said, YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS. You will be lost if you miss more than 1 day, and even then, you will undoubtedly have to catch up to some degree. His classes are consistently persevering forward, so go to class and be on time and you'll be good !
Professor Lal is one of the best professors I have had at UOP. His course is hands on but the material is not complex if you attend class. PowerBi and Excel are used heavily in this class. Assignments are laid out week by week and have clear instructions on how they should be done. If you are majoring in data analytics this class will help you lots
Absolutely recommend this class! The professor has a unique way of laying out the assignments in Canvas making it that much fun to go through. All assignments have video providing instruction and help on topics you are confused on. Make sure you are on time as attendance is mandatory and crucial in succeeding. Did not know business could be fun too
I highly recommend taking this class—it's straightforward and easy to follow as long as you stay focused and dedicate some time to reviewing after each session. Attendance is crucial! Missing even one class can put you behind since a lot of material is covered each time. Make sure to show up prepared and ready to engage in hands-on learning.
I would recommend taking this class. The Professor lets you know what the assignments and projects should look like, so there are no surprises when you get your grade. The course was very easy to follow, there were videos provided for everything just in case you need to go back and refresh on your memory.
He cares about his students and wants to see them succeed and is very knowledgeable about Excel, Power Bi and all of the coding applications. Theres lots of work that is done in class, so if you don't finish, it becomes homework. He will help you if you with questions. Make sure to ask questions if you are stuck because the lectures tend to go fast
Good professor with clear video instructions on how to do assignments. Main topics in class are excel, PowerBI, data modeling, and data normalization. Attendance is mandatory and he will sometimes have attendance quizzes, but coming to class is very beneficial and missing often will make you fall behind. Not a hard class if you show up everyday.
Professor Lal did an amazing job at giving insights into Information systems. He goes fast in his lecture at times but if you let him know that you are struggling he can slow down and help you out. Overall I recommend you attend all lectures (Easy A) and you will be good to go. Material is not hard as he has videos posted and is able to guide you.
My experience taking this course was excellent! Professor Amit Lal is a great professor! To succeed in this course you must have good attendance and complete work we do in class. This class gave me a good understanding of data modeling, data normalization, power bi, python, etc. I really recommend this course with professor Amit!!!
Assignment have high point value and often there will be attendance quizzes that need to be completed at the start of class withing the first 3 minutes that require in class presence password. Stay at the same computer for the entire course as material will build on itself and if you change computers you will need to do it all over again.
Amazing professor. Attendance is mandatory. Work could be turned in by the end of the semester. Would take this professor for 108. Has videos for all the assignments and is very flexible with assignments and grading. Gives 100 points for all the assignments.
Professor Lal seems like he genuinely cares about his students and like a nice person overall. I appreciated the videos that he made on his assignments because they would help me complete these assignments if I was ever confused on them. Only suggestion I have for course is to keep duedates on weekdays! I wanna start &finish hw in computer lab plz
Dr. Lal does a very good job teaching this course he focuses on real world applications such as Power Bi and Python he walks you through step by step that being said you need to attend class to not fall behind.
He is an amazing professor.
Professor Lal is really good. He is understanding to situations and will help you with assignments or even makeup assignments if you communicate with him properly. Attendance is mandatory but he also posts videos for each assignment. As long as you show up to class and watch videos, you will pass with an A.
Participation and coming to class matters, if you don't you will fall behind. Classwork is easy if you follow along as well as tests.
One thing to expect is exciting lectures that are entertaining and helpful in learning tools in a real world setting. One way to succeed is arriving to class on time since attendance is graded with attendance quizzes at the beginning of class. One key takeaway from this class is the importance of Power BI and Excel tools.
The professor made the intimidating material seem very doable. He is great at explaining the course material to beginners and makes sure that everyone is on the same track before moving on to anything new. He gives you a safe space to make mistakes and does not grade harshly at all. However he grades harsh on attendance.
Dr,Amit Lal is an excellent instructor. He is empathetic and willing to assist with assignments or offer makeup opportunities if you communicate effectively with him. If you attend class and watch the videos, you're likely to earn an A.
Professor Lal's class was definitely my favorite course this semester. He's very engaging and loves to chat. MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP TO CLASS! It's superrr easyy, but you will get confused if you don't show up. He also has step by step videos to go look back at for projects. If you finish Friday projects in class you don't really have homework.
He is very interesting and passionate about the material he teaches. If you have some basic excel skills then this class will be very easy. You have to attend the class everyday since the material is related to the previous material. Teaches powerBi in an visualization tool so that the students can get a grasp of the material.
Professor Lal is passionate about analytics. I was hesitant taking this course but he walks you through projects in class. Make sure you show up because if you miss you will be lost. He gives you great advice. Make sure to ask him questions as you're doing the work because then he might not answer as we learned it earlier. Overall, manageable class
Cool, fun professor along with his animal service friend. I wanted to take my next courses with him but the classes got filled quickly. :( Would recommend getting him as a professor for sure!
This class is very straightforward, just come to class every day. A lot of the time we were working in the same files all week, making changes to them so if you miss a day, you might fall behind. Also, if you are late or tardy you will be docked 2% per day so make sure you are at least walking into class by the time class starts.
BUSI100 was overall a great experience. Professor Lal is a good lecturer and is easy to follow. The biggest piece of advice I can give is to make sure you show up to class. As long as you show up and pay attention you will get an easy A as most of the work is done during class by Professor Lal
Professor Amit Lal is a easy going professor and the assignments are pretty easy to follow through and to understand. You need to be in class to understand the assignments, if you miss class you will be confused on what is going on in class. He will go through each assignment with you. He will make lectures fun and interesting to follow through.
awesome course I wish I was taking it off-season because If you miss one class you're going to be behind for a long time.
Dr. Lal is really enthusiastic about Business Analytics and will rave about how you should double major an chance he gets so you know he loves what he's doing. BEWARE OF THE 2% GRADE DROP FOR TARDIENESS. Class ends early most of the time and exams are supper easy and sometime done in groups.
This professor is very energetic when it comes to this course. His courses are very dynamic and are always changing based on where the class is at. The biggest thing to note is that you cannot miss class. If you miss class you get your grade deducted and you will be way behind in our projects (takes about 1-2 weeks to complete with instructor).
This is a very good teacher. As long as you go to class and follow the teacher in class, you will get the grade easily. It is mandatory to go to class every time, and there is a small attendance test before each class, just asking if you are in class. However, the time of the small quiz is too short—only three minutes.
Attendance is mandatory, there is a 2% grade drop for each tardy. He has videos up for each assignment which is very helpful. He can be indecisive when it comes to exams and projects but as long as you go with the flow and do your assignments, you won't struggle. The class doesn't give you much stress but it takes some time to adjust to him.
This class was very enjoyable. Attendance for this course in mandatory. The class covers a lot of helpful Microsoft Excel functions and tips while also diving into Power BI which is very helpful if you are going into the Business industry. Overall a great course.
This course has been incredibly useful, informative, and practical. It reshaped my understanding of my major and provided essential tools for my career. The well-organized structure made it easy to follow, and the professor's engaging, supportive teaching style ensured a meaningful learning experience. I'm grateful for everything I learned here.
Grades are based on participation and completion of assignments, and most are finished in class. Everything is on Canvas, including videos of the lecture concepts in case you fall behind. Sometimes he will give a graded attendance check at the beginning of class. Exams and Final Project were all done with groups, making them easy A's.
Professor is very helpful. Would definitely recommend taking this class! Just communicate and talk to him. Participation is highly recommended!
All assignments are on Canvas and typically completed during class with professor. Attendance is graded randomly, but if you miss there are video lectures. Exams and Final Project were all done with groups, making them easy and collaborative. If you need help or fall behind, professor is very understanding.
The course is lecture heavy. You learn as you go. Video tutorials are also provided in canvas for you to reference and he encourages to look back at the videos even after class has ended. He's got lots of energy especially for an 8 AM. Attendance quizzes are given at random to ensure that you attend class regularly.
Professor Lal has structured his class to be very productive and beneficial. I found his class to be very applicable for me and my future through group work and learning computer information systems. His canvas page is very impressive. You will definitely be playing catch up if you don't go to class. He is always willing to help.
he is a great professor, he does have video lectures recorded
The course is a good time. The teacher is clear and if you miss out on something it was probably because you weren't paying attention or it slipped your mind. He can ramble, but I enjoy that. It makes the class feel more personal.
Professor was very funny, considerate, and knowledgeable, and has a service dog if you're allergic. Had 2 exams that were group-based, one final that was also a group project. A book is needed, but we didn't use it alot, and some chapters were graded from it. Attendance is mandatory and needed to learn.
Busi108 was great with Prof. Lal. Make sure you attend all classes, if you don't you will likely fall behind and miss important in class content which is hard to make up and learn outside of class. A lot of enthusiasm for an early class which helped me stay engaged. Content is very easy to understand and extremely applicable in the industry. 9.2/10
He's cool. Quite chatty, which might take some getting used to you have him early morning. High energy individual. Teaches in a methodical, thorough, and efficient manner. Merciful grader, pretty patient. Assignments are clear and not vague. Overall great professor.
Professor Lal is extremely knowledgeable within the tech world. This is one of the first classes I felt like the content was centered towards learning as opposed to most classes are centered around memorization and homework. Extremely detailed and cares for his students. Also, very to flexibile. One of my favorite professors.
Professor Lal is incredibly passionate about technology and shares insights on the evolving tech world. While his enthusiasm can lead to extended discussions, his detailed modules and assignment videos are very helpful. Overall, he is understanding and one of the most passionate professors at UOP.
Lal is very enthusiastic about class participation and group projects, but overall, they are an excellent professor who is always accessible and supportive.
Professor Lal covers a lot of topics ranging from how to use Excel, Powerbi, and SQL, and by the end of this course you will have a lot of knowledge in each topic. Overall, if you attend all of your classes and are following along, you should have no problem passing.
BUSI 100 with professor Amit Lal was good. Attendance is mandatory. There will be quizzes on attendance open for about 3 mintues, so be on time, as there is a 2% grade drop. There are 2 exams and a final project. He has videos uploaded for each assignment which is useful. Overall, you won't struggle. Class usually ends early.
Professor Lal is genuinely one of the best instructors I have taken at UOP so far. He is engaging, understanding and full of life. I have taken him for Busi 100 along with Busi 108 and am honestly saddened that I can't take him for any other courses. Professor Lal really cares for his students, he puts hours and hours into being your mentor.
The class is relatively easy with very little work outside of class. Video examples are provided however, attendance is mandatory. He doesn't always follow the syllabus and is easily sidetracked in class. All the work is graded by TA and is not in a timely manner. All the work is ideally done on a Windows computer as PowerBI does not run on Mac.
Easy professor, but he often gets extremely sidetracked during his lectures, sometimes spending nearly the entire class period talking about an irrelevant topic and then use the last 20 minutes of class to go through the content as fast as possible without stopping. He takes 2 percent of your grade off of every absence but also posts videos after.
His class taught me a lot especially about AI and how to apply it to your life in a way that will benefit you and make your life easier. I was able to learn a lot about Power BI and Power Query in excel which I feel like will benefit me greatly in the future.
Amazing professor, great training and very industry relevant!
Professor Lal has helped me build confidence in using tools such as PowerBI and Python for Analytics. He is a great professor and cracks lots of jokes! Easy A, Easy Class👾
You are able to learn a more in depth way of Power BI as well as how to use language models ethically. He is a very kind professor who mainly just wants his students to be stress free. As long as you turn in your assignments, it is an easy A and he does most assignments with the students.
Really good class and professor.
Dr. Amit Lal is an excellent instructor. He is empathetic and willing to assist with assignments or offer makeup opportunities if you communicate effectively with him. If you attend class and watch the videos, you're likely to earn an A.
they are open and very passionate about teaching this topic. they are always wanting to inquorate new topics that are relevant to the work force. he offers a lot of extra credit so you'll get an A if you just do the bare work.
I liked My time in Busi 108 Professor goes over Power Query Excel Power Bi and PyCharm. Shows you step by step in class so it s easy to fall behind if you miss class.
I had friends take his class before saying it was easy and you learn a lot. I'd say I did learn however if you asked for help he might not give it to you and if you asked for clarification on an assignment you are doing for the most part he just told you to trouble shoot it on your own. He's very nice but this class seemed harder than it should be.
This class is very hands on material that translate into the business industry. He equips you with relevant info and creates assignments to put on your portfolio. He's understanding, an easy grader, the assignments that are due are done in class with him teaching so it's not much work outside of class. Attendance is mandatory for professionalism.
You will learn a lot about this class since it's very industry base, everything you do in this class relates to the future of business. For example, we use excel, powerbi, pycharm, and much more. I really enjoyed this class but sometimes you have to do your own research if you want to understand more.
Class attendance is really important, but overall a great class!
Professor Lal is very interesting, on one hand he is a very fun professor making sure his students are always working on relevant things in the industry. By the way he does get very sidetracked in his lectures. In addition however he bases everybody's ability on students, he has teached in BUSI 100. I overall did not fully enjoy my experience.
My 2nd time taking a course of Professor Lal and I enjoyed it just as much as the 1st. Truly an amazing professor who cares about getting his students for their futures in the business industry. In BUSI 108, the course is more team focused, and some of the work will need to be done at home. Great course to take for future data/business analysts.
Overall, the class structure was good. Professor Lal is very understanding and allows you to make up assignments. It is somewhat lecture heavy, you have regular assignments due, attendance points and then just a final project. No final. Overall recommend this course and this professor, he makes the classes less stressful and more engaging.
Dr. Lal genuinely cares about his students and teaches so much more than business analytics. He takes time to bring in guest speakers, teach about LinkedIn and Networking, and update the class on the latest news in AI. Everything you learn in this class will be applicable in real life! Put in the effort to make the most out of this class!
He incorporates topics that are relevant to today's industry of analytics. We used PowerBI, Pycharm, and Excel. I would recommend showing up to every class so that you don't fall behind. He is a great Professor and truly cares about his students.
This professor talks a lot about AI for the whole class period, with this accoutant dude and about switching your major to analytics; you will mostly learn everything on your own was gone at conferences most of the time but you learn from the videos that he offers. This class takes up most of your time, so be prepared.
Professor Lal is a great professor! Taking this course has gave me confidence in creating dashboards through PowerBI and using Python. Easy A, Easy Class👾
This class is lecture-heavy. If you miss a day of class, you will fall behind quickly, and a lot is covered per class. The biggest advice is to attend every class and pay attention. Attendance is taken on occasion.
Professor Amit Lal was great professor. I have learned a lot in Business Analytics, we made many Power BI dashboard and had group project, which are also fun. He does take attendance, however he will allow you to make up the points at the end of the semester. You will learn a lot from Power BI and how to function Excel sheets.
Class attendance and being on time is really important. The content can sometimes be overwhelming, but if you ask the professor to go over the content again, he gladly will. Accessible outside of class and encouraging, especially if you show interest in the course.
Professor Lal an a great instructor! He helps students out when needed and gives good feedback. I would definitely take this class again.
Get prepared to learn about PowerBI and Python especially. The book is online, and is used for a few hw assignments. If you want to have a good grade in the class, I would probably take notes during his lectures to look back at for later.
Attendance is very important, so be on time! The group project is informational and informative. Make sure to voice your opinions. He gives a lot of opportunities to bring grade back up. Email the professor if you have any questions asap. Submit assignments on time and you should be good. Study course material before exams.
Timeliness and attendance is important. Content can be overwhelming at times, but the professor will gladly go over it again if you ask. Accessible outside of class and is really encouraging, especially if you show interest in the course.
A very good teacher. As long as you come to the classroom for class and follow the steps of the class, you will get very good grades.
Keeps up with industry standards. Advocates for AI to be used responsibly and can be used in class. He will go on tangents about it that eat into class. Lots of homework assignments and in class assignments. Attendance is mandatory. Posts videos for most assignments. Overall great, but you need to keep yourself accountable and organized.
BUSI108 is a great class but its important that you know the basics of Power BI and Pycharm. I did not so I struggle following along. He's a funny professor very open about using AI. He does get a little sidetracked which means he rushes the tutorials for power bi or pycharm at the end of class. :( Also his TAs grade everything.
Class is very early In the morning and attendance is mandatory, but he makes all lectures worth it and has great discussions with his class. Learned so much from this course. Professor Lal is one of the few professors that wants to see all of his students succeed and motivates you like crazy. Worth Taking.
Professor Lal is a good teacher; he gives students many chances to improve themselves, and he is caring, both in study and in daily life. I treat him as a teacher and also as a trustworthy friend.
Professor Lal is great! Piece of advice though, is to not get too behind. It is very easy to fall behind in this class, and this class happens to be very fast paced so be prepared to have to come in, on your own time to catch up on work. Overall Professor Lal, is super awesome, one of my favorite professors at UOP!
Really helpful, I learnt a lot about analytics, will recommend everyone to take this course
Really Helpful, teaches you a lot
Dr. Lal is a very enjoyable professor. His classes are easy if you apply yourself. He is very forgiving with due dates and more than willing to walk you through something as many times as you need until you understand. His assignments are easy to complete on your own with provided videos if you miss a step in class.
Very good professor who really cares for his students. Wants what's best for his students when it comes to succeeding outside of the classroom and after school. Very good at using the industry standards in his work to better prepare students for success in the future and getting a job.
Professor Lal spends a lot of time giving extremely helpful insights about how the analytics industry works. There is a really balanced amount of work. It is consistent and easy to understand as he uploads how to do what we did in class to canvas if you attended class (attendance quiz). If you come to class you should have no problem getting an A.
He teaches the course along side what is going on in the industry, very helpful to learn how business and technology work together hand in hand. He is very respectful, and will stop everything to make sure you are caught up and ready to learn!
The professor provides videos on what to do for homework. However, it does require some problem solving. Homework is mostly easy but also time consuming.
I really enjoyed my Busi 100 class with Dr Lal. This course provides insights into a lot of industry work and real world applications. he was also very organized and made sure everyone was up to date and was comfortable during class. attendance was mandatory so make sure to show up to class every day or your grade will decline.
Dr. Lal is for sure an interesting professor, the kind who will feel polarizing to you as a student. His style of teaching is the kind where you get back what you put in, and for my experience that has been with realizing how important analytics is and how connected it is to my relevant professional field.I appreciate his dedication to his craft :)
Dr Lal was very helpful and really cares about the students. I learned so much about the Industry and analytics. If you have the chance to take his course, I would highly recommend it!
Professor Lal is very up to date with technology and analytics in the business world, which he applies to his class. Him and the TAs are helpful if you don' t understand an assignment and is the majority of what you learn in the class. There is also only a few tests in the quarter. He may persuade you to major in Business Analytics.
Dr. Lal is one of my favorite professors at UOP. He cares deeply about the content he teaches and if you pay attention to him, then you'll have an easy time understanding the concepts in Excel and PowerBI that teaches as he's very clear on how to do these concepts. He might get sidetracked but it's because he talks about the industry you'll work in
Dr. Amit Lal was by far a great professor. In his class we go over excel and power bi and you actually learn a great deal of knowledge. He also provides valuable insight and advice about the current business world and how to enter. He applies current learning modules that are circulating in real time, we also learn how to you AI properly.
By far one of the best professors I've had at UOP. Genuinely cares about his students. Teaches mostly Excel & Power Bi. Talks about the industry a lot and helps his students get ready for it. Went to a conference just for his students, to see what is happening in the industry and what he should teach base off of. RECCOMEND TO ALL.
Professor Lal is very passionate about analytics, he provides lectures about once or twice a week and he uploads videos of the lectures online so we can watch it at our own pace. Most of the assignments are given at least a week in advance. Overall an interesting professor and would take a class with him again.
Overall, a great professor who ties all lectures and assignments to real-world skills that are highly useful for internships and jobs. Missing one class can leave you behind on both lectures and assignments. As a Mac user, I struggled a bit since the course required Windows-specific software, which made it hard to complete missed work at home.
The professor and the material taught throughout the course were very helpful. It's easy to tell that the professor genuinely cares about their students and wants them to succeed. Many reviews mentioned the professor oftentimes goes off topic, but it helps to build a connection with them and were mostly insightful about the industry.
In order to succeed in this class it is important to show up on time to recieve credit. It eventually adds up and will affect your grade if you are not on time to class. There is not a lot of homework because he expects the work to be done in class. Lots of important skills are taught in this class and be ready to use Power Bi and Excel.
Professor Lal was an excellent instructor for BUSI 100. His lectures were clear, engaging, and tied to real world business examples. He made tools like PowerBI and Excel practical and easy to learn, and his teaching style made this one of the most valuable classes I've taken. Having a Windows laptop is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this class.
I feel like his class is useful for my major, I like the way he makes the video for each assignment so I can follow step by step. However, we have a lot of assignments and project on the weekend, especial for the final week.
Dr. Lal is a very enthusiastic about Business Analytics! I really enjoyed his class, it was a great experiential learning experience and you get what you put in. He is lenient on due dates & provides videos step by step. During lectures, Dr. Lal always pulls up with the latest in the industry and stays up to date on tech. Take this course with him.
He really loves his two pets, they always by his side that so funny. I very passionate with business analytics and always recommend us study this major, I feel helpful in his class. There were 2 exams in his class and have a final project. However, sometimes he puts too many assignments and project to do in the weekend.
He is funny sometimes. His lectures are cool. You get to learn Excel, designing cool dashboards, and some helpful information about the Information System. Participation matters because he will talk everything regarding to the assignments in class. Come to class on time since he has an attendance quiz every class.
It is very interactive with the professor so if you pay attention it is easy to follow along. He also holds videos where he goes through each step really clearly if you weren't able to understand it in class! To receive the best grade in this class you should be turn up on time and always listen carefully and then you'll be absolutely fine.
Great professor! Very passionate about Business Analytics. Funny guy, caring, understanding, and most of all respectful. Would recommend this class to anyone looking to fulfill a GE or is genuinely interested in Analytics!
He's passionate, but it's difficult to follow for those new to PowerBi/ Python. If you ask questions, this class might be challenging as they're often redirected to ChatGPT or not addressed. I appreciate the introduction to Power Bi/Python/ Excel, but this course would benefit from more structured teaching and less time spent on unrelated topics.
Professor Lal was amazing in my opinion. He showed genuine care for our success in the course and always wanted to help. If you show up, give effort, and ask questions, you should have no trouble in this course. Main tip is to follow everything step by step. I even added Analytics as a concentration after being so inspired by his stories and class.
Dr. Amit Lal is a great professor and I enjoyed this course! What I learned in BUSI-100 translated into the real world. Microsoft applications such as Excel and Power BI was taught in an excellent manner. Out of all the professors that I had, Dr. Amit Lal taught Excel the best in my opinion. To succeed in this class time management is important.
This professor is good. Attendance is important due to frequent in-class work and regular homework. What stood out was the helpful video guides posted for each assignment, which clarified expectations. Overall, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor who supports student success.
Overall a good professor. The complaints that I have is how he gets sidetracked easily and can spend nearly the entire class period talking about something unrelated and then speedrun through the day's material in the last 20 min, and that he takes 2% off your FINAL GRADE for EACH unexcused absence even though he posts lectures online.
You will learn a lot in this course about how to make dashboards and utilize Excel. As long as you go to class you will pass. Great professor as well he is very understanding.
Amit Lal was a great professor, I learned about how to utilize Excel and Power Bi for dashboard, and gives real world examples. As long as you go to lecture you will be fine and wont even have to do much outside of class. Definitely a recommended professor of mine, he is very understanding and teaches very well on his course.
Dr. Lal was a good speaker, but the class format left a lot to be desired. He locks his online lectures and resources, so in-person attendance is mandatory. You have to do an attendance quiz every class, only open the first minutes of class, otherwise its 2% off your final grade EACH TIME. Dr. Lal seems knowledgeable but gatekeeps essential info.
If you really want to prepare yourself to become an analyst and start with a strong foundation, professor Lal's BUSI 100 and BUSI 108 are everything you need. These two are basically your practice to the corporate environment. I am equipped with everything i need to work in multiple fields and overall just helped me standout amongst other students.
attendance is mandatory. I feel like it shouldn't be rather the class should have in-class activities to practice course content which should count towards attendance. Textbook is online and it is easy grades. That's the best part about the class. Submissions are through screenshots which doesn't make any sense it should be a normal file submission
Busi 100 with Dr. Lal is not a walk in the park, but you will learn valuable technical skills that will help you in the professional world. Be ready to spend a good amount of time working outside of class on assignments, readings, and labs. Attendance is mandatory and is taken through a canvas quiz open for the first five minutes of class.
Professor Lal may seem tough and difficult in the beginning but he is very understanding. Once you go talk to him, he will help you figure the assignments and help you finish them. He is a great professor.
Dr. Lal is a good professor who is quite understanding and will help you get a better grade if you reach out to him. Attendance is mandatory and the exams and labs rely heavily on these lectures so it is important to you show up to class.
This class was great and the attendance is really important as you really fall behind if you miss a class. But overall really good professor and class was managable if you showed up.
The professor was good, he had good lectures, and the content was useful! But the class was pretty hard, you have to participate in class and follow along to understand the material. And I recommend practicing the material at home! But overall, the class was good, and he is very nice with grades and wants the students to do good!
Attendance is mandatory, showing up to class matters. The class is lecture heavy, as long as you follow and pay attention you will do good in this class. I learned how to use Excel and Power BI at a professional level through labs and lectures. If you are having trouble during any time he has a TA ready to help which made the class easier.
Professor gave us labs every week that were based off lectures and were very for practice but the only problem was for submission you had to screenshot it and turn in which was interesting. Attendance was also mandatory which wasn't an issue I believe he just applied this so students will attend class and learn. Also TA's were very helpful.
I found this class very useful and informative. A lot that was mentioned in this course was new to me, so I was glad I didn't have to hear repetitive information. The course was also heavy in labs and exams (grade-wise). I actually did not mind the labs, they were related to the week's course content. Would take this class again!
A very knowledgeable and helpful professors, you can tell he cares about his students and wants to help them learn new things and wish the best for them overall. Attendance is mandatory and there will be a quiz open for the first 5 minutes which I am not a big fan of, but I understand he is teaching us the importance of time.
Professor Lal's class was difficult for the beginning of the semester, and it felt like the first two months of lectures were all crammed together. Attendance is required but is worth it to attend because he goes in depth to what labs will be on and he will give you time to complete them in class. Overall, he wants the best for his students.
He is a really good professor and wants the best for his students. even though the exams are hard, at the end he really helps with the grading. His lectures are not hard but there are a lot of content, he teaches it in a really easy way.
Dr.Lal is a great and knowledge professor. I learned a lot through this class including learning Masters concepts, Power BI, AI, and Excel. But this class is not easy and you will have to put in a lot of effort in and out of the classroom. Attendance is mandatory and would really pay attention in class along with practicing the concepts.
The course was modified dramatically to the point where we got a lot of stuff changed or taken out. One docking mark is enough to have an easy knock to the grade and it adds up. The docking marks are up to 5 each time. My only complaint is the grading. Other than that, we learned the most skills out of this course.
