Amit is a great teacher with no accent and he is very, very, very helpful and concise. I highly recommend.
Hes really helpful and easy to follow! He's funny and makes math work going to
Great teacher, i would definitely recommend him.
Would recommend to others to take him. He explains theorems with clarity and is helpful all the time!
He was a great teacher. Very helpful and goes through everything until you understand it thoroughly. I would highly recommend for anybody!
A good teacher. He knows what he is talking about and is always there to help. He made the class really easy.
easiest math class ive ever taken.
Very nice and helpful. The class is easy as long as you keep up on the HW. I fully recommend him
I would HIGHLY recommend MR. SAINI he is a little weird but overall he is clear to understand when it comes to lectures and explanations going step by step on problems. He is helpful and always has a good attitude in class. There is homework and ofcourse tests but if you do the hw and go to class you will be fine. Take it 4rm me i dont get math
...... continuous and take it from me i dont get math and he helped me understand it NO JOKE! he is goooooood
I failed my prior math class and really needed to pass. Saini helped me and showed me ways that math was not as complicated as I made it. He was really helpful and very understanding and slow when someone needs extra help. Thank you Mr. Saini
Mr. Saini is a great teacher and is such an easy class. The practice tests are EXACTLY like the exams. Some students underestimate him because he is goofy, but he knows what he is doing and really wants to help. I definitly recommend this professor!
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!! very patient and never takes short cuts. Always SHOWING you EVERY step not assuming you to get it automatically. I'm pretty bad in math, but he made it clear and understandable and you never feel like an idiot if you ask a question. DEFINATELY TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! And take advantage of office hours!
Mr. Sainiwas an AMAZING teacher. He went thru every problem step by step and was very patient. He is always open to questions during class and during office hours. His tests are super easy if you do the Practice tests. I would highly reccommend this teacher!!
awesome! very good teacher. always willing to hlp. very clear on what is on test. he teaches exactly what is on the test. awesome. just go to class and u will get an A no problem. do the practice test!!!! they r 90 percent the same as the test. except the final. u actually need to kno how to do it to do well on the final. great teacher. and awesome
Great teacher. Always willing to help. Tests are exactly same as practice test. Homework helps a lot. Don't really need to go to lecture if you do the homework. Easy to get an A in class.
Amit is by far hands down the best math teacher I have ever had, plus he is a super cool guy. nuff said.
Saini is the best math teacher of all time. He has a great sense of humor and is very easy to understand. I recommend him 100%
Saini is a great math teacher! He takes the time to fully teach material to ensure you understand. He teaches exactly what will be on the quizes & tests. If you pay attention the class is super easy! he is also very laid back and can crack a joke once in a while. MUST TAKE!
I don't know what "it" is, but Saini has it!! I was once told in high school that I would never succeed in math. I earned an A.
Saini is the best math teacher I've ever had. Everything that he teaches makes sense and the whole class did very well on all of their tests. If you think Calculus is hard, just wait for him to prove you wrong.
i took saini in the summer and for a math summer class i learned TONS saini is the best math teacher.. but you should go to class for his lectures they are alot easier than the book.. you don't need the book either just a code to do your online homework..
He is AMAZING!! Take him if you can!
Easy Class
Hes a great teacher if you dont know the material, but since ive already taken similar classes in high school, it was very slow. I only went to his class on test days and still got 100%
Such an easy class. He is always there to help too if you are having trouble. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!
He is such a good teacher and says funny things sometimes that are subtle! You definitely don't need to buy the paper version of the book because the online code you buy is all that is needed for the homework and he always says how he is teaching things in a little bit of a different way from the book because it is easier to do... great teacher!
One of the best math teachers i have EVER had! He made it much more interesting. On the down side the TAs he has never speak english so... But he really helped me learn math! I was never any good and now i understand it so well! GET HIM!!! THIS IS THE MUST HAVE TEACHER!!!!
Awesome teacher. Younger guy that's really easy to keep up with and get along with. Explains everything really well. The least stressful math class I've ever taken.
Great class, and great teacher. covers every topic very clearly answers questions fully, offers tons of office hours and help sessions for people who don't understand, helps with even the smallest of things like how to plug things into your calculator so you get the right answers. Amazing teacher.
Let's just say if you wanna learn Precalculus the easy way take SAINI. This guy is ballin, his notes are very easy to comprehend, helps you tremendously during office hours, and his practice tests are practically the real tests. IF I were you I'd take Saini.
Best math instructor ever. Enough said.
This guy could teach a rock how to do math!! Extremely helpful, takes things as slow as you need and is very hlepful during office hours. Best. Math. Class. Ever.
So helpful! Will do anything to make sure you understand math, very friendly and approachable. I hate math and he made me hate it less. Do the practice exams because its basically the test. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Mr. Saini is AWESOME!!!! Although I'm not really a math kid Saini was really helpful in making sure I got my math requirement done. Tough tests, hard class (if you don't like math), but AWESOME teacher. Definitely recommend for everyone.
He is an awesome teacher and an awesome guy. I recommend him for any class. He is extremely helpful, clear, and subtely cracks jokes while teaching to keep you interested. Loved him!
Saini is da man girlfran. This dude could teach my 2 year old sister how to do precalc. Just do the HW and practice tests and FOR SURE you'll get an A. If we had Saini teaching every single math course, unr would be full of math maticians.
What kind of professor makes it so a class can understand all the material and still field questions in a lecture hall of 200+ like he is having a one on one conversation? He really cares about his students and is there for them all the time. He even teaches pre-calc in simple concepts so you don't get confused and can apply it to anything!
I was horrible at math prior to this class, and managed an A. Amit is the best math teacher I've ever had. Take him.
Best math teacher ever. Always has office hours. extremely helpful. Explains everything over and over and explains the material extremely clearly. The test is exactly like the practice tests, some even have the same questions. Easy class because the teacher is so good at his job.
Good teacher. Also recommended for 127.
What everyone is saying on here is true. I have never had a better math teacher. I wish I could have taken math from him in high school because he is such a good teacher. Very good class. Very easy to get an A if you attend classes and do your practice tests. I would take this teacher again in a heart beat. Do NOT take anyone else for this class.
Outstanding professor, I was hopping into Trig after 10 years of being away from math and never going above algebra, and I had no problem learning all the subject matter and getting an A. If you show up to class you'll do well. He also is very available and cool about office hours.
In one word: AMAZING. I always thought I wasn't good at math until I had Amit. He encourages questions and encourages you to go to his office hours. Very approachable!! If you have the option take him! He is also HILARIOUS. He makes everything so simple. I would take any class he taught. Dont' be quick to judge because is a awesome!
The math he's teaching is not easy if it's your first time being exposed to it. Amit is a ridiculously effective teacher, period. UNR needs more teachers with personality that actually care if the students understand what is being taught. Unlike tenured PHD professors regurgitating their boring torturous lessons and dragging down GPA's.
He's a really nice guy, and he is funny as well. He's a huge help if you have any difficulty with math whatsoever. Tests aren't too bad, just make sure to show up to class and you'll be fine.
He is a really great professor!I would take him again in a heartbeat! He really makes it interesting and if you do the practice tests beforehand, you should get an A on the tests! WONDERFUL professor! Take him!
Take this class! Go to office hours if you don't understand something... he'll drop your lowest quiz grade!
He's a good teacher and teaches at an easy pace. The tests are easy if you do the homework and the study guides. There's a quiz each week as well. The TA was nice but hard to understand. Go to office hours for him. He's rude at times though when he gets angered or something.
Most amazing math teacher. He made math 126 and 127 interesting, but also easy to comprehend for people who aren't the best at math. He truly cares about his students and will do anything to help you pass.
Prof. Saini made this class worth going to. Its true that if you do the practice tests you will ace the tests. I failed Math 96 and his slow pace and care put into each lecture has helped me to pass this class with ease. The quizzes were super easy as well- only 2 questions each week. If you're not good at math, I would choose Saini. Its worth it.
Amazing teacher, new people may see Saini and think horrible accent, dont jump to any conclusions, crystal clear and an amazing teacher.
Great professor. He is extremely helpful and will take the time to explain things. Cooperative in quiz make-up and is willing to work with students.
he's the best
Amit is a wonderful teacher. He was always willing to help me, and he was always available (even by email). He will make you work hard, but in the end, you feel like you've really learned something. He's also pretty darn funny. I highly recommend him!
He is a great professor. He was very approachable whenever I needed help. He gave my class extra credit opportunities. Also he is funny which makes the class a bit interesting. I highly recommend him.
Great teacher!! Homework is very easy. (Because I went to class & took notes!) Quizzes every week. Not hard, but there are usually only 2 ?'s. Tests aren't bad either. TAKE HIM!! Best math teacher I've ever had! EVER
Best math teacher I ever had. I failed math in highschool, but Amit worked tirelessly to make sure I understood. He was always helpful, always available, and willing to repeat himself however many times in endless variations until understanding set in. Fantastic!
I by far would take Math classes if I had to go farther as long as Amit was teaching them. I have a very hard time picking up certain content in math and I am one of the worst math kids I know. Saini made it so easy to learn. He appreciates a student who wants to understand. He let me even come to his other class study sessions for help. Take Him!!
I actually emailed him to make sure I could get into his calc class this coming semester. After we had emailed, he went out of his way to double check I had. So personal and approachable. When he first walked into class for 127 I thought he was a student... freaking awesome guy! couldnt't be more pleased!
Awesome teacher who is truly dedicated to the subject hes teaches. Very easy to understand and talk to. Very quick to respond to email.
Best Math teacher I have ever had!!!
Saini is a great teacher! He explains things very clearly and makes an effort to keep everyone in the class understanding the material. Go to class every day and you will easily learn what he is teaching. I got an easy A in this class because I went to class and did the homework.
Very clear in what he is trying to teach. He wants the class to succeed and seems genuinely interested in helping people when they have questions.
Try to get him for 181. Great teacher
I love him. I wish I could have him for all my math classes. He makes Calculus easy. My friend was jealous; her Calc teacher (arrigotti)@ TMCC was such a hard ass.
Best math teacher I've ever had! I was nervous to take my first calculus class but he made it so easy and clear. He is very helpful and his tests are exactly what he teaches.
Saini is a great teacher who goes through procedures very slow, step by step, so everyone can understand. If you have trouble in math, I would highly recommend taking Saini. He is very helpful if you are struggling. He is also amusing if you appreciate nerd humor.
He is really clear, and goes through everything step by step. Even if you don't understand concepts he will take the time to explain them to you whenever you want. I'm not saying his class is easy because his tests are hard. But he's funny, nice, and definitely knows what he's talking about.
took him for the second time, this time online for business calculus. no matter what class it is, he is always helpful and easy to work with. tests are based solely off of the study guides he gives you! he is a fantastic teacher and i would recommend him to ANYONE.
Mr. Saini is the best math teacher at the university. I took him for math 120, 126 and 127, and I received an A in all those classes. He gives homework that is mandatory, but it is super easy. He also gives out study guides for each test so you know what to focus on. Best math teacher on campus BY FAR!
I hate math, but i had to pass calc for my major. He made it possible. I wont say this class was easy, but he helped me understand calculus in a way no teacher ever could have. I would definitely recommend him.
Easy Class. homework comes right from the notes. i barely attended class and i passed with an A and got an A on the final.
I recommend Saini for any math you have to take. I do not like math at all and I needed to take calc. He taught it in a way that it made it so easy to learn and understand. He is very helpful to any student who comes in office hours and gives you lots of opportunities to get your grade up. I wish I would have taken him for Math 126 and 127.
Mr. Saini is a amazing. I've had to retake every math class I ever took, but his calc class was so clear and easy to understand that I was actually comfortable with the subject matter and ENJOYED lecture because he made things so easy. He goes out of his way to help any way he can, even meeting with you outside office hours 30 mins before a test.
Seriously the best math teacher i have ever had. He went through everything in a clear and understanding manner. Any questions you have he'll know how to answer. I was in a class with like 15 other people, there was no lecture, but we did have this class everyday (Mon-Fri) for 50 minutes. Don't hesitate if you can request him, do it.
I barely scrapped a C in my calculus class in high school, so I was worried going in, but Saini is seriously the best math teacher I've ever had. He explains everything so clearly and has no problem going over concepts again if you don't understand. I recommend him to EVERYONE.
Professor Saini is easily the best math professor at UNR. His method of teaching works (if you pay attention) and he almost always has office hours. His explanations are crystal clear and his tests are easier than his practice tests. I would personally recommend Saini (Say-knee) if you want to understand the material and move forward to Calculus 2.
good teacher like everyone else is saying, the final was tough shi doh.
Good teacher. has ways to make everything understandable. he doesn't use calculators but you don't need them with him. Very good teacher
This class is extremely easy until you get to the final. The average was a 61 for my class and everyone I know who had him was dropped a letter grade because of it. You'll be so sure that you can do well on the final because the rest of his tests are easy and then he throws a final worth 35% of you grade that's much harder than it should be.
Saini was a great teacher. I wish I would of been in a class of 30 instead of 300 in order to better understand him as well as get some more one on one time. I'm disappointed because his exams throughout the semester were cake but the final was ridiculous. At 35% of my grade it dropped me 10%. Although, I have to say he is one of the best on campus
He is the best math teacher I have ever had, and this is the first time that I actually understood math. He explains things clearly, and he is willing to go over things in office hours. Tests and quizzes were pretty easy, the final was a little harder. He wants people to succeed, but you have to put in the effort.
Saini was the best math professor I had. His lectures were crystal clear and he taught the subject by breaking it down methodologically. I do agree that his first three tests were easier than the final. If you study for the final you will do well, if you don't you will not be happy with the results. It helps to go into the final with b or higher.
One of the best instructors at UNR. Made calculus easy and enjoyable. Funny guy as well and nice when you get to know him. EVERYONE should take calculus with him. I can't rate him highly enough!
Professor Saini is awesome, I was really swamped during the semester and I was still able to learn things. His tests were a bit difficult for me because of the limited time I had but he was always helpful and I was always able to contact him via email. Highly Recommend!
The best teacher I have ever had in college, I took him for math 126, 127 and 181. Very willing to help you in any way possible. He met with me frequently outside of class for help and worked around my schedule. Responds very quickly to all your emails.
He was my teacher for all the math classes I took in college. He is the best teacher in the whole world I wish I had him for all my classes than life would have been so much easier.
I don't know why everyone is saying he is a good teacher, but I just took his class online, and it was AWFUL! I would not recommend it to anyone! I might as well have taken the class through mymathlab, he taught nothing, no online lectures, no help, I barely knew he was there. DO NOT TAKE THE ONLINE CLASS
Online course. Weekly homework assignments. A couple of discussion posts- reasonably easy. 2 tests and a final-- half new material, half comprehensive. Fortunately, his study reviews are exactly like his exams so there were NO surprises. This class is incredibly doable with some effort and hard work. Not an easy subject. Saini is available by email
This class offered the convenience of being a summer and online class. That being said, you do have to basically teach yourself. Your grade will reflect your effort. Study guides are very helpful.
Mr. Saini is awesome! Super helpful, super clear, and I've really never done so well in a math class.
I hate math but I loved Mr. Saini, by far the best math teacher I have ever had in my life.
Saini is the man. He's a really smart guy and really clear.I'm terrible at math, but I had a good time in his class. When there's hardly anyone in class, or if people are getting up and leaving early, he'll sometimes give those in attendance extra credit. So go to class!
I loved his math126 class! He's got a super chill attitude where if you put in the effort to understand, he will make it super clear for you. First math class I've ever really liked. Take it if you have the option.
Very good professor, with fun sense of humor. Interesting class and a very kind man. I suggest him to everyone.
Saini is a fantastic professor who knows what he is talking about and knows how to make math understandable. Homework is easy, uses MyMathlab. Tests are fairly easy. He gives random extra credit for attendance, and extra points on tests sometimes. Really cool guy, funny, great professor.
He's funny, down to earth, and easy. I highly recommend taking his class. If you did poorly on an assignment or test and you talk to him about it, he will either let you do extra credit, he will give everybody in the class extra credit, or he won't even count the grade. He's awesome!
Professor Saini had a super laid back attitude and explained the material really well. He has a good sense of humor. I recommend this class to everyone.
Definitely one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking a class he is instructing. Very nice guy and a big fan of Nevada football (don't ask how I know).
I read the reviews prior to class and was pretty excited to have a good teacher however in lecture he goes over everything but asking questions can be intimidating. he seems like a nice guy but if you don't do well on the tests it doesn't matter if you do the quizzes or homework. I had As in both but failed because I didn't do well on the tests.
I loved Saini! He is a very good professor and I absolutely hate math! GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!! After each test he gave me about half of the points back that missed simply because I went in! He drops lowest quiz and homework scores and is overall committed to helping everyone succeed if you put in the effort! Recommended!
At first I was scared to take this class! Wasn't bad at all! No surprises on exams! He pretty much copies and paste the same exact problems from the review onto the exam, but will change ONE or TWO questions! Easiest A ever!
Saini truly wants all his students to pass. He explains really well during lectures so if you're not good at math, consider attendance mandatory because it will help! He gives you study problems that are almost identical to those on the test. He does say "okay" a lot but it's never something I minded too much.
Really great overall math teacher. Some people might think he is condescending, but he really is not. He knows what he is talking about and its a pretty easy class. Usually let out at least 30 min early but he genuinely wants to help you learn. I would definitely recommend and I wish I could take him again.
Saini is a pretty laid back understanding guy. I missed a lot of classes and was totally fine..I am more proficient at math though. Easy to understand. Tries to make it interesting. I highly recommend taking his class.
Be prepared he loves to talk so lectures are long he is also really cool though i got an A so if you attend lecture take notes and do the homework the quizzes and tests should be easy oh and you also have a quizzes every week but they are easy of you do the homework beforehand.
Saini was the best math teacher I have ever had. He's willing to answer any questions but his lectures are so clear that there won't be need for any. He always has review days before a test which are really helpful.
Saini is the BEST math teacher ever! He is super understanding and is always open for meeting during office hours if you need help. He explains things thoroughly and will go over anything you ask. Willing to work with you as long as you are trying to get help. Easy A as long as you go to class, do homework, and attend quizzes on Friday.
Saini is a great math teacher & he's pretty easy to understand. If you're bad at math TAKE ADVANTAGE of his help. I wish I hadn't been shy & had asked for help because then I wouldn't be taking this class again next semester. Tests are really hard, quiz every friday & only one question is graded. He doesn't curve and homework due every sunday.
He is such a good teacher. Goes through lectures great and easy to follow. Quizzes once a week unless it is a test. Quizzes are really easy, half the points are given if you show up other half are from one question he picks from the quiz. Overall easy class and he is a fun teacher to have.
I got A's on Quizzes and Homework, but so much weight of your grade are the tests, I got out with a D!! No calculators are allowed for the first two tests! If you are not "math gifted" I would not recommend this Professor. Nice teacher but his unrealistic grading technique's will render a Solid A exam grade down to a C- or D. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
I liked everything about Mr. Saini except his tests. If you have really bad test taking skills, I wouldn't recommend this class. I had over a 100% in my quizzes and homeworks but because of test problems, I had a C up until I did alright on the final. His tests matter big time. However, he's a great professor and is always available to help.
TEST's will destroy you even if you've done well on homework and quizzes. Final grade is worth 45% of grade! NO CALCULATORS ALLOWED on 2 out of 3 tests?! Grades up or down depending on "how he likes you" direct quote from the man himself in lecture. A student that would normally get an A will end up with a C. GPA killing class! PAINFUL CLASS.
Saini is very clear on what will and will not be on the test. He is a good math teacher who tries not to be boring. His TA this year was not helpful and made everything confusing. If you need help, go to his office hours. If he sees you trying, you'll get a better grade. He takes no excuses for missing tests, not even medical reasons, so be careful
Saini is great as my calc 181 instructor. I'm currently in his 181 class & am enjoying it. He is very clear about what he expects you to know, what will be on testsquizzes and how he expects you to format problems. The material is a bit tough of course but he is always offering time to help. I ONLY WISH HE WAS TEACHING CALC 182 IN THE FALL!!!
Saini is a great professor. He ALWAYS is there to help. ALWAYS. He admits to being a tough grader but that's only because he is very clear on what will be on tests and explains things in detail and gives many different types of examples. He curves on tests too if the scores aren't the best. Do the homework, ask for help. No problem.
Mr. Saini is an amazing math professor. I have never struggled in math, but he made this class more simple than any other I've taken. He breaks everything down into very easy to understand steps and is always available for extra help.
Saini was arguably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. The material he goes over in class directly corresponds to the homework, quizzes, and tests. There are no surprises with the quizzes which makes it easy to get an A if you do all the work and get the help to understand how to do the math. I would definitely take his class again.
Saini's a tough grader and if you make simple algebra mistakes he gets mad, but I grew to like him. He'll ask hard questions on tests so make sure you know all the material. His office hours will save you. If you're showing effort and he likes you, it will seriously help your grade. I worked my butt off for my grade but definitely learned a lot.
One of the best Math teachers I have ever had. He breaks down the material and makes it so easy to understand. 3 test, recitation quizzes every week and homework due every week. You can tell he truly cares about the success of his students. If you email him, you are sure to get a quick response. If you have to ability to, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Quizzes weekly in recitation, homework on each section due weekly. 3 tests and a final. Will nit pick format (include limit as x approaches _ on each step or lose points). No calculators allowed (know log's and trig), but numbers are easy to compute. Go to class, do homework, get help if necessary. Easy once you understand how to do calculus
Awesome professor. You don't need the book because everything he tests on is in his lectures - just make sure you go to class! I thought he was a pretty easy grader.
I've retaken this class to many times & I could not fully pass the class. Saini was the first teacher who really made it crystal clear for me. He moves really slow in his lectures which helped break down every step to understand it way better. It may be boring but totally worth it once you understand it. He's also extremely funny and helpful.
Best math teacher I've ever had. He's very clear, organized, and makes sure his students understand the material. The only way I could imagine someone not getting an A in his class is if they don't show up, or they fall asleep in class.
A bit slow, only because though he goes step by step of each problem as to make sure it's clear on what to do. Very helpful open to any and all questions. very funny, best math class I've ever taken.
Saini is an amazing math teacher. He answers all questions and is willing to help you at all costs to pass. This class made me understand math more than I have in years. Would definitely recommend taking him over all other math 126 teachers.
Mr. Saini explained math better than anyone I've ever encountered. His techniques are different, but easy and work really well. He makes calculous easy.
Saini is the man! Pretty easy grader, gives partial credit on test if you show work so he can see if you know what youre doing. He has different ways of teaching compared to other math professors but his ways work VERY well. Also, he'll match your lowest test score to the score you get on your final only if you get higher than a 70% on your final.
Mr. Saini really helped me understand math - esp. after having been out of school for nearly 20 years. His in class examples are all you'll need to succeed - always show up, use office hours (he's ALWAYS available). He cracks great jokes and really wants his students to do well - take him if you can!
I took Saini for 126 and 176 online, BEST math teacher I've ever had in my opinion. After getting an F and dropping 126 my first time, I got a mid-high B with him. Going to class wasn't required, but is extremely helpful. He is great at explaining and working out problems. Hes a really chill grader, drops your lowest tests, homeworks, & quizzes
He's really great at explaining and most likely, the best possible calculus 1 teacher.
Saini is the best math teacher I have ever had!! But last semester I took an english teacher by the name of Dr. Huggins. worst teacher i have ever taken IF YOURE A FRESHMAN, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TAKE DR. HUGGINS FOR ENGLISH 102!!! anyways, saini is a really good teacher. Helpful, even encourages students to ask questions. MKAY
Iv'e taken two semesters of math with Saini (MATH127, 181). I rarely understand material presented the first time in math but Saini's lectures are well planned and he connects well with the class. I would recommend Saini over any other professor on campus. He is almost always available to help you one on one and is fair with his grading.
Take him. Easiest math class and I suck at math.
super good teacher, if you need any help go to office hours!!
Saint is one hell of a math teacher. He really knows how to explain the concepts in layman's terms and he is a pretty easy teacher.
Absolutely one of the best professors at Reno. Actually cares about his students so he jokes around a lot, if you do not understand something, GO TO OFFICE HOURS he will be more than happy to help. This is my third course with him and recommend him to everyone in my network.
I wish I had taken Saini for my pre-calculus courses. He is one of the best math professors/teachers I have ever had in college and before. I was so worried that Calculus would be a threat to my GPA, but he made the subject so easy and reviewed concepts from 126 and 127 that just never stuck with me, and I did just well. Take him!!
Favorite professor so far! Plenty of reviews and clarifying on whatever you need. He's super smart but can dumb it down to a basic level so everyone understands. You will have to study like normal and you can't get away without homework, but as long as your willing to put in a little effort you can easily get an A and leave the class smarter.
Professor Saini is a great professor. He is very clear and concise in his lectures, homework and tests. He explains things so it is easy to understand and applicable to the homework and tests. His tests are straightforward and as long as you do the homework and complete the practice for the test you will pass his class.
Mr. Saini is awesome. I took trig/precal in high school and didn't understand it, so I retook it in college with Saini. Best math professor ever. Really makes you understand it and is super clear about what you will/won't be tested on. Plus he drops some quiz/exam scores. Definitely recommend.
He's a really awesome professor! He's pretty chill and gives great lectures. He gives quizzes almost every week, but pay attention in class and do the homework and there's no reason you shouldn't pass.
Saini teaches pretty slowly, so if you don't know a topic well he'll definitely be able to explain it. Sometimes this teaching style was a little too slow and made it pretty difficult to go to class at 8 am. Overall, he was a good professor though. He drops lowest quiz and homework scores at the end of the semester &you get 9 chances per HW problem
Professor saini is an awesome math teacher for calc 182. He goes slow through his lectures and pauses half way between solving problems and asks if there are any questions. He knows how to dumb down the material. His three tests are not hard if you understand the study guides because the study guide questions are like the tests. Highly recommend.
Amit is one hell of a math teacher. He knows his material and explains it very well. If you're somebody who struggles with math definitely take his class. He stops several times during the lectures for those with questions. The tests (3) are just like the study guides and he drops the lowest homework and quiz scores. Also, he's pretty funny.
Saini is a good guy. He wants everyone to do well but you have to communicate with him to do so. Lectures are great but if you're bad at math I would recommend getting a tutor. Offers 10 points extra credit if you do course evaluations and drops the lowest homework and quiz grades. Final exam is copy and paste the previous exams. Easy to talk to!
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He breaks the material down where it is easy to understand. Show up to class or you will miss vital information that is on the upcoming test. The class is easy if you show up and pay attention, do the homework, and put forth an effort on the tests and quizzes.
Professor Saini is very knowledgable and makes lectures easy to follow, and you can really enjoy math. If you want an A in his class you have to really work for it.
Saini is awesome! He's super helpful and a very good teacher. He goes slowly, but in my opinion slow is much better than fast. He does quizzes every day in recitation but they're easy if you do the homework the night before. Homework isn't too challenging. Overall an awesome teacher--wish he was teaching higher levels of math
Took his calculus class to fulfill my math core requirements and got an easy A. He explains the material extremely well, and incorporates examples into his lecture. He assigns online homework that is generally easy and his quizzes are generally easy too, if you know the material. Overall, a great calculus teacher and would 100% take him again.
I have loved having Saini and would take him again in a heartbeat for any other math class. He holds review sessions in place of lecture sometimes and occasionally offers extra credit if you go. You also get the chance for extra credit the next day after a test. He makes a quiz with the most missed problem from the test and you can get points.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss class on days where new material is presented, you will fall behind. That being said, he explains the math really well and you shouldn't have a hard time if you show up to class.
Saini is the best math professor I have ever had. Offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester and is really helpful especially if you use his office hours. 3rd test is the hardest but is still relatively easy material. Overall, TAKE HIM!
very good teaching style. lectures are concise and to the point. Actual cares if students understand the material. teaches at all levels of understanding. great teacher, and drops a good amount of hw and quizzes to help you out. If you skip class make sure to go to office hours he is literally always there. :)
He's a good professor, but there are a few issues. His homework is pretty garbage so go get some help if you don't get it. The weekly quizzes are honestly harder than the exams. He's a nice guy and he really cares, you'll have to work, but it's a good class.
Professor Saini made the material in this class easier to understand and less intimidating. There is homework every night and a quiz every discussion, but if you go to class they are easy to do. Go to office hours because Professor Saini is more than helpful and cares about you and your grade. Overall, highly recommend this class.
Saini is the most caring math professor you will meet. If he knows you are giving effort in his class, doing all the assignments, and asking for help - he will not give you less than a B. He curved my 75% to an 85% just because I would meet with him weekly for help. I have taken all 3 of my math courses with him and recommend only him.
All of the lectures were very in-depth and clear. He made sure to give plenty of opportunities to ask questions and clarify on anything. Quizzes and tests were easy if you payed attention in class. Lots of extra credit opportunities for the students who showed up to class even though it wasn't required
Class is hard and he is rude. When I tried to get help he was never helpful. Lecture felt like a waste because after I always had to teach myself the same material.
Idk if this dude lost all meaning to his life in the past semester or something bc these ratings are fs not true. By far the rudest and meanest professor i have ever had in my entire life. His lectures are awful and if u ask questions hes aggressive
Mr. Saini is awesome. These other recent reviews are actual bull and are probably because he just had surgery and was recovering when they took the class. He's easy-going and is very thorough when teaching. Made the class super easy as he was clear on what he expected out of us for the tests.
Professor Saini is probably the best professor I have had at the University of Nevada. He really listens to the students, is always happy, and tries his best to be as clear as possible. Also, he filters through what we do and do not need to know which is helpful. The TA for my recitation was not very good, but Saini is amazing.
Very very good at explaining concepts, also very caring and understanding when you have an issue. Probably my favorite professor this year. His class is easy if you take the time to understand the criteria.
Attendance non-mandatory, but Saini is excellent at teaching and thoroughly explains concepts. Very laidback, and flexible/approachable. Open to questions and is accessible and easy to talk to. However, homework is online and while you dont need a textbook, you need to pay for Pearson MyLab (if you dont already have it).
Very good at explaining the subject and a very nice guy in general. Will answer any questions you have. Provides practice tests that are very helpful for the exams.
Saini is the goat. Super easy class to begin with (took it previously junior year of high school). Great at explaining and teaching. He also has a great sense of humor. I highly suggest him if he is available.
His lectures are very in depth and clear so typically you understand the material by just going to class. My recitation was taught by a TA who was very confusing and the quizzes were typically harder than the tests.
He is honestly a great professor, I have had him for previous math courses, however for Math 181 I would say it was one of the classes he was most inconsiderate in a lot of a harder teacher. I worked so hard for my grade and still ended up where I did, overall he is great but you will have to work for it.
Professor Saini is an excellent professor and clear with his expectations. His lectures were easy to follow and basically just consist of problems that you will see on the homework and tests/quizzes. He makes himself available to help students outside of class and is actually bothered if you don't visit his office hours. 10/10 guy.
Hands down the best teacher I have ever had. Does not fault you for not knowing/remembering pervious math and is more than happy to help during office hours. Knows the subject very well and always wants to answer any questions. Tests are not bad but you should study and attend class everyday including review days. the lectures are interesting!
Prof. Saini made videos for the material, and did zooms to review for the test. He does office hours during class, and helps you with understanding the material/homework. Homework and quizzes are every week. There are 3 tests and a final. He is good at teaching the material, I took calc in high school, but I learned a lot of helpful/new techniques.
Pretty much no instruction until the end he sent out videos so learn on your own. Seems like a cool understandable guy but virtually no interaction. Tests are much harder and nothing like study guides and the hardest versions of questions are used.
A really great math professor who truly helped me to learn my subject material, I am really glad that I got to take this course with Professor Saini.
Great professor! Lectures weren't mandatory but made himself available during those times in case we needed help or had questions. His lecture videos were very straightforward and easy to understand. Very helpful and understanding as well!
Professor Saini is an easy going and sweet man. He is fair with your grades but ultimately it is up to you, but he is more than willing to help. He wants to see you succeed in his class and grading was lax if you showed you put in work. I would love to have him as a professor again. Tests were about 60% of your grade and only 3 or 4 of those.
A really awesome professor one of the best math teachers I have ever had and I really struggle in math.
Since this semester was online due to Covid, all the homework assignments and corresponding quizzes were due Sunday every week. The classes and discussions weren't mandatory to go to as he turned them into office hours where you can get help. The textbook wasn't mandatory but I recommend it as his lectures were recorded but he talked slowly.
YOU HAVE AND SHOULD TAKE HIM FOR CALC 1811 THE BEST PROFESSOR TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE FUNDEMENTAL CONCEPTS.
The best professor I've ever had! He explained calculus concepts so logically everything made perfect sense, I barely even had to study outside of class. If you have the opportunity to take his classes, DO IT! He was super helpful whenever I had questions, he never tries to trick you on hw or tests, and he clearly cares about his students' success!
Professor Saini is hands down one of the worst professors Ive ever had. At first he seems like he would be really cool and understanding, but as the course progresses, his true colors show. He accused more than half of my math 181 class of cheating, even though all of us were on zoom with our cameras on- he ended up failing everyone on that test.
Professor Saini is a great teacher. I had him during covid, so he just upoladed some lectures each week and then we had to do homework. The lectures are short and simple, but are easy to understand. Saini is a super nice guy and is always willing to help, but make sure that you don't disrespect him and be sure to follow instructions.
Had Saini for both Math 126 and Calc 1. If you have him, utilize his office hours and test reviews. Every time I went to one when I was struggling he would really help me understand the concepts. I only had him online so I don't know if he is the same in person.
Great professor. Taught the concepts very well. For quizzes, if you failed, all you had to do is attend discussion and you'll receive full points. Very easy class, and is fair with grading. Even if you get the question wrong on test, he will still give you quite a few points. Many complained, but honestly, just takes notes and do the hw.
Saini is a great math teacher in general. If you apply yourself, his class is a great learning experience, and inspirational if you doubt your math skills. Lot's of quizzes and homework, but it's not so bad since Saini is able to teach the subject well. Saini also allows for ample time to get extra help like office hours. Altogether, he is great.
If you show up to class you will be fine especially if you are already good at math. The only thing I disliked was how much he talked when he taught us something new, I know he wants to educate us on why what we are learning is important but he drags sometimes.
Amit is a great professor. Tons of examples to really understand the math, if you don't understand it you can go to his office hours and I guarantee that you will understand it when you leave. All of the tests/quizzes are exactly like the in-class examples. Final is optional if you are happy with your grade!!!!
He's a great professor, I had him for business calc, and personally didn't struggle with his teaching. Occasionally he would go a little fast in lectures, but not too bad. Make sure you attend lectures bc you will have weekly quizzes through discussion. all his tests are straightforward and grades fairly. Would recommend (:
ATTEND CLASSES even if it's not mandatory, he gives so many extra credits. Gives good feedback. Materials could be hard for some people, but he gives a really good lecture.
This professor was hardly helpful and slightly condescending. I found that his note taking guidance wasnt very helpful and he merely just wrote from his preprepared notes onto the board in the front of class and didnt explain very well, and thats how it was structured the entire semester. I dont have good words for this professor.
I LOVE Professor Saini. His lectures are at a great pace and he will answer any questions you have. After each exam, he goes through the exam so you know how you did the ones you did wrong. You have about 2-3 homework assignments each week, but they don't take much time.
Saini is an amazing professor! He is always prepared to teach us every day, values our time, and helps every student that needs assistance. Please take this class!!
Professor Saini is an amazing professor and I would gladly take one of his classes again.
Easily the best math teacher I've had when it comes to clearly communicating fairly complicated concepts. Never felt the need to get extra help as any difficult problems were explained very well in lecture. Cool guy as well just don't pack up while he's talking.
I can't recommend Saini enough. If you put in the work, he will always meet you halfway. Tests are just like the practice problems on WebAssign, if not easier. If you can take him, take him or Paige Hernandez. Both are super helpful and knowledgeable in their subject.
The way that he teaches math is so helpful as he goes over everything that you might ask/ need to know. His TA's are phenomenal too. In general he has been the best math teacher I've had.
I really loved this class! Prof. Saini did a really good job breaking down concepts in lectures. We did have a short quiz every single discussion, but they really prepared me for exams (so please show up !!!)
Prof Saini is one of the best professors I've ever had. He does an amazing job explaining the material and answering questions. The class is a breeze as long as you attend the lectures and discussions. He is easy to reach outside of class in case of any questions or help.
Mr. Saini is an awesome lecturer. He does an amazing job of explaining the material and breaking down concepts. The class has very clear guidelines for when to get things done and when to learn the new material. The exam questions can be a little different than lectures, but TAs are doing a good job to prepare for exams. Overall, a good class
I personally struggled in this class, but Saini is by far the best professor I ever had. He explains things very well & the TAs were amazing. He clearly cares about his students as he asks for feedback & goes over whatever we are having trouble with. Don't be afraid to visit office hours, he gave extra points just for showing up. Show up to class.
Very nice professor that explains things clearly and in detail. He will go over examples on how to apply the material to different types of problems during lectures and he will only test you on stuff that he has actually taught. There is homework for each lecture/unit but its nothing crazy just a few problems. His TAs are also super helpful.
worst professor ever
The timing on quizzes and tests is ridiculous. For example, a quiz on integrals had 4 questions and a 12 minute time limit. He offers no extra credit and is unforgiving on grading--no curve. Terrible class
Makes the material very simple to understand. There's a weekly homework that can be finished easily in half an hour. There's also a weekly quiz, but that's pretty standard for math. The grading on the quizzes is very light. Test questions are pulled almost straight from the homeworks.
Doing the work will get you and A in this class, quizzes and tests are just like homework. 10/10 had a great experience. If ur not willing to put in the work then you probably will fail.
He seems cool. He is really good at breaking down the material and teaching math. My issue with the course is more focused on his hate of calculators. The homework is completing all the steps of the problems with a calculator but his tests are so confusing and hard to practice for because of his attempts to make them possible without a calculator.
Professor knows math but is not very good at teaching it. Didn't understand when he explained it and when I asked questions it didn't help. Tests are nothing like study guide as he home makes them and throws curveballs. This class doesn't use calculators while other classes do. Some problems are very difficult without a calculator aswell.
Mr. Saini was a great professor to have for calculus. The concepts are pretty easy in the beginning but quite hard toward the end as you get into integrals. Show up to class because if you miss a class you will be lost as there are no notes posted. He explains concepts flawlessly and was very privileged to have him as my professor!
This professor spent more time talking about how we are better at math than he was. He has a very short temper and is, a very inconsistent grader. He says that he cares but when you ask him questions, after a test he blows you off or doesn't answer the question.
Genuinely the best math professor or teacher I have ever had. I failed AP Calc and got a 99% in this class. He makes it super easy to understand and there's no calculators allowed on tests or quizzes, so the questions are very simple. Definitely recommend!
This professor was alright, he allows people to take home tests and they are proctored but hard. Seems like the material in class was not the same material that was on the exams. I did not enjoy the way he taught, and a lot of his lectures did not make sense to me with the way he taught. He moves quickly.
Professor Saini was such a great teacher. The homework load is very light and he does a very clear job instructing. He made math super easy to understand. I would %100 take another math course with him again.
The homework it's nothing like the quizzes. The quizzes are 10 minute multiple choice questions there's about 6-8 different answer choices per question. Study guide for exams are completely different I wrote down 10/20 questions not a single one had an example on the study guide. My class average is currently 42 at week 3.
Professor Saini is by far the best math instructor I have ever learned from. You can tell he loves teaching math, and does such a great job at it. I would recommend everyone take him for Calculus if you have previously struggled, like me. He makes the quizzes harder than the exams to prepare you also, which is very helpful.
Prepares you well for tests and offers help with homework.
Every time that I would go to class I would always learn something new. During the lectures questions are always encouraged, and are promptly answered. You can contact him on MyMathLab if you do not understand a question and he will respond in a timely manner. This professor truly is passionate about the success of his students and the subject.
This guy was amazing. I am a science major so calculus is not my thing, but he is such a good teacher that I ended up doing very well in this class. tough grader, however he is very clear about what will be on the exams, which makes studying for them quite easy. show up to class, take notes, do homework, study, and you will do well.
I took this professor for MATH 126 and the class was so good I took his class for MATH 176. The quality of the lectures are top notch, and another one of the best classes I have taken at UNR. He always answers questions on WebAssign in a timely manner. He ensures that the students understand the material and dedicates days for review and questions.
I took this class over summer and it was hard, but calc is a hard subject. My only complaints about this class was that he doesn't update the grade book very often and the tests were weighted HEAVILY. There were 3 tests, two of them were only 10 questions but worth 20% of our final grade each.
Professor Saini is one of the best at UNR. Great lectures and is always very clear about due dates and important info.
I loved Prof. Saini for 176. His homework was very reasonable and graded very fairly. Overall, super good experience with him. Go to the lectures, do the homework, and this class will be no problem.
Easy class as long as you are on top of your work. homework is an average of 2 webassigns a week and each question gives you 3 trys. Uses a lockdown broswer and camera for 3nquizzes and 3 exams. Easy to get in touch with and reasonable about extensions. Did 10x better in the class than the grades I received. Pretty sure he curves A LOT
Overall a really great online class.
I will never forgive this professor. I had received news of a tragic family accident right before the last final and I had been sick during the third test, giving me a bad test score that took my grade to 89.9. I had A's through the whole class (so it is easy), but even though I said what happened, he had gave me no help or leniency, and I got a B+
Online 176 is a breeze get the homework done early during the week and it's super manageable. The tests aren't too bad usually super short too.
he does not offer any help for preparing for test. every other profesor has a study sheet with similar questions that are on the test but he offers nothing similar to that at all. all he gives you is the math lab pre made questions that are 50 questions long with no questions similar to whats actually on the test.
just choose someone else i barely passed
He is really not that hard. If you just pay attention and ask questions in the lecture you will be fine. He also drops/curves
