This was the only english teach ive had so far that was easy. She was extremely helpful and was willing to help you with your writing. If you try, you should be able to easily pull off a B.

She is a great teacher and is so energetic. always willing to help any in need and will take up her office hours to help you.

As an athlete she was always willing to help, and helped out when missing class for an away trip. She grades incredibly hard though. My sister was an English major and revised my papers and I still ended up with a C on basically all my papers. I wouldn't recommend her. ST-A

As a student athlete it was alot of work to keep up with. At least one paper a week. She's willing to help in and outside of class. She won't come to you to help you. You have to go to her and ask for help and she will be glad to help you.

Amy Acosta was such a fun teacher! She doesn't really care if you go to class, she knows that it isn't her grade on the line. However if you do not go regularly you will be on her bad side. She cracks funny jokes. By the end of the semester it was only a handful of people left so it was a lot of fun. OH AND SHE IS NOT ON CRACK!

Without a doubt, the best personality on campus so far in my career in college. Had her at 9 am and was a joy to wake up to. Helped me with all 5 of my essays and made a 95+% on all of them. Would highly reccommend her to anyone. And guys, she's an attractive, mature woman!

At first, she wasn't clear in like what exactly was due and when. After time, I got used to asking her in class of what is due since emails were unclear. Overall, she is a very helpful teacher. I improved my writing so hopefully I do fine in ENGL 102. By the way, I would suggest going to class to be mandatory.

I have never had a teacher who cared so much about me. Although I took her way back in 2012 this woman still helps me till this day. She is easy and she helps you a lot and her bonus are easy to receive. If you like a teacher who you wish to have an awesome student teacher relationship take her I promise you will not regret it!

One of the best professors I've ever had at Southeastern. Her class is never boring and she always comes up with hilarious jokes. However, she marks attendance so try not to skip her class. She admires handwork, so if you do revisions as suggested then A is guaranteed. And by the way I made straight A in her class. Would surely take her again.

Great teacher. If you are on half a point from a letter grade she will give you the .5% to get you there. Very helpful. She welcomes people to the office if they need help. Some group work, but nothing to awful. Essays are 3 pages long, but I never wrote a 3 page essay and still passed with a B.

I had Acosta for American lit. Her tests were super easy and I barely read any of the readings. She doesn't like phones in class but will let you take notes on a laptop. Would recommend to others she kept the lectures interesting.

There are so many good things I can say about her, but the most important one is that she will help you succeed in her class. She inspires students to continue studying which judging from the way some professors teach, test, and grade is doubtful. Take her class, and have fun !!

Ms. Amy grades hard ! be prepared to read a book for class that you have to write two papers on. I went to the writing lab with all of my papers and was told I had a great paper, turned it in and received C's and a D. She does give feedback on why she choose that grade. At the end of the class you are allowed to redo your lowest grade.

She's a good professor to have. She is hilarious and easy to relate to. She accepts late work for some points off. Do the work and you'll pass.

Took her for 101 also. Loved her, that's why I took her again. I usually HATE English but she made it enjoyable. Grading feels ever so slightly subjective but it is in your favor if you are trying and active in class. Would take her for every class if I could, awesome way to start your day.

Ms. Acosta is not difficult at all. We read one book and had quizzes on each chapter. She allows you to use your notes for the midterm. We wrote 4 papers during the semester. I received As on most of them. She cares about her students and wants to see everyone succeed. She sits with you after grading and explains her feedback. She is awesome!!

Mrs. Acosta is the best professor that I have encountered at SLU so far. She encourages student engagement in lectures and incorporates the happenings of today to what topic we are covering. I am a biology major, and English was not my favorite subject; however, because of taking her for Lit., I have a much greater appreciation for the subject!

There is a lot of reading but if you read, you will do well. Pay attention to the things she tells you in class. She grades essays easy and makes questions on test pretty straight forward. The only think I did not like was that EVERY class she forced her liberal political views on us that had no relevance to the subject or that day's lesson.

She makes the class interesting, even though yo may not agree with what she says. Her tests aren't incredibly hard, but you do need to read and pay attention.

Ms. Acosta is a wonderful professor. She is very personable and loves her students. She assigns readings in the textbooks daily and she occasionally does tiny quizzes at the beginning of class to make sure everyone read. Honestly you probably wont even have to read most of the time, but if you don't read at least look up a summary. Very easy class.

Gives you so many options for help and advice. You have to go to class because if you dont she will drop you from the class herself. If you just listen to her and try its not too hard.

TAKE HER FOR ENGL232. Very easy class, no essays AT ALL. I got a B but I could have gotten higher if I would have attended every class. Random pop quizzes are given- some are your personal opinion so they are very easy but others you have to read the material. 4 tests- easy if you study the quizlets. TAKE HER!!!!!!!

She is a good teacher overall. Gives good feedback. If you don't mind politics and her political stance then she gives good lectures overall. You absolutely have to be there in class. I was 20 minutes late to one class, and she kicked me out of the room. If you miss a class then you'll miss the quiz and get a zero for participation.

Professor Acosta was overall a solid choice for Eng 101. She gives 4 essays including the final. Be ready to read the book she assigns because most of your assignments including 1-2 essays will be on it. She gives great feedback on essays and tries to find potential in every paper. She truly cares about her students and will help you if you ask.

Took her for 232. She's super sweet, understanding and willing to help. 3 tests, which are all easy. Some assignments and one group project, which are also easy. Show up, read the assigned readings and you will be just fine. I would recommend taking her.

She is very lenient with deadlines and is willing to help outside of the classroom. Overall a great pick for a freshman-level course and a great English professor.

There is 4 test and a group project about poems. She gave "quizzes" that were just participation points (if you were there and answered the question out loud you got the points). The test were simple multiple choice questions and some essay questions, which she gives you the question before the test. She is very chill/sarcastic! I loved her!

A great professor for 232, she makes the class interesting and fun. The grading is based on 4 tests, a group project, and in-class quizzes. The tests aren't hard and consist of multiple-choice and short answer/essay questions. The quizzes are in-class and are mostly for participation points. I made a 90 by the skin of my teeth and that is saying a lot bc i am very good at english and I am a nursing major and my lowest grade in college has been a 89.46 in a organic chem class. You just really HAVE to go to class AND pay attention. her tests are all memory recall,no way to study. She gives pop quizzes and if u didnt read u will fail it.

She is a good Professor. I would take again! I will say she she is very funny and finds a motivational song to put on before every class. She is very open-minded and says everything that comes to her mind. If you need criticism she will give it to you. Also do NOT try using AI to write your essay because she WILL catch you and it is not worth.

THIS TEACHER WAS AMAZING! She played a motivational song every morning, usually one that had to do with how her students were feeling or what we needed to write for our upcoming assignment. Would highly recommend you take Ms. Acosta. Very caring lady. Grades consisted of three essays, a group presentation (which she lets you do by yourself if you don't like groups), final was a pass/fail 500 word essay, and a lot of in class graded assessments. Attendance is mandatory otherwise you get a 0 for the assignments you don't complete.
