Professor Baskin does a great job teaching students how to dissect a film to learn from it. She behaves professionally at all times, but manages to allow a casual learning atmosphere. This is not an easy A class, but it's not overwhelming either.

The best I have had the pleasure taking a class under. Recently retired from military and hesitant to return to school. She explained exerything with ease and if I had trouble understanding, she was there to facilitate. While not an "Easy A", Prof Baskin is an amazing teacher who cares about her students. She stresses academic integrity & expects her students to go 51% of the distance and she'll go 49%. She is very creative & uses a variety of methods to reach all types of learners. I loved her class and gained a great deal from her personally and academically.

Take the class!! Good Teacher, but be prepared to WRITE! She gives writing assignments after each film watched and you have to do an oral presentation. The writing and presentation are not difficult, you just have to turn them in.

Introduction to film is a good way if you want to get humanities credits. You may have to write essay for every movie you watch in class, but don't worry. Her requirement for short essay is about 300 words. She's very nice professor.

Class is very easy. She is also nice. All you really had to do was type a few papers and watch a few movies. The papers wasn't that long. We didn't really use the textbook though so I don't recommend buying it. This is for her Introduction to Film class.

Loved this class and this professor! She was the only professor I've had that actually remembered all of the students names. Professor Baskin is extremely easy if you don't mind writing. She's not a tough grader and her lectures are very straightforward. She's a fun teacher and she's definitely there to help. She assigns 4 journals that have to be 300 words and a few papers, and then one research project but she breaks it down and it ended up being beneficial.

She was a great professor! Yes, you have to write a lot but it's worth it in the end. She is super understanding about personal issues. You do need to show up though to pass. Definitely wish she was teaching ENC1102.

Great Professor! If you take the hybrid class just make sure to finish all your assignments by the deadline. If you finish the assignments you will have an A in the class. Make sure to read the books, and participate in class discussions. Class participation counts, but she makes the classroom time fun! Would recommend or take again.

She gives every opportunity for you to succeed. Easy grader, make sure to use the writing lab for proofreading. Easy A if you participate and want it. I would 1000% percent take her again.

Great instructor, very lenient when you need some extra time, but you probably won't need any. She has a lot of enthusiasm, it was a pleasure to take her class.

I love professor Baskin so much! There's a lot of homework, but it's all easy. As long as you keep up with the homework your final will be easy because it's all of the assignments combined, plus a research paper. She's good about extensions, extra credit, and she's more of an easy grader. I highly recommend her!! One of my easier courses for sure.

Professor Baskin is great! She is easy going and not a harsh grader. You have to take her for ENC 1101. All the homework is easy to do but also really helps improve your writing skills. I am definitely going to take another one of her classes in the future.

She helps build up your confidence and gives clear ways on how to write a paper. I would definitely pick her for any of the classes that she teaches!

This is a writing class so be prepared for that. 3 quizzes, 5 haikus, 1 sonnet, 5 free verse poems, 2 very short stories, 1 short story, a belief essay, couple of writing exercises and journal entries, and a portfolio due at the end. Discussion boards are involved. You will use the books she has on the syllabus. Try to find the PDF of both.

Professor Baskin was awesome! She was super interactive and created an environment where the students were encouraged to be highly interactive. She gives insightful feedback and encourages students to think and write outside the box rather than playing it safe. She gives extra credit for great work, as well. Highly recommend her class!

This is my third class with Mrs. Baskin. I wish she taught all of the classes I needed to graduate. She will be missed. I encourage any student to take her SLS class and definitely attend the SLS seminars.

Professor Baskin is a very good teacher, I've never had an issue with her when going to class or if I was late I was always welcome in with a smile, Homework is a bit much if you have a busy schedule however homework was still relatively easy.

She's very lenient and gives multiple opportunities for extra credit through-out the course. We only used the textbooks for fill in the blank homework (which are few and very easy) Be prepared to write a paper every week leading up to the final research paper. There's very few pop/critical thinking quizzes and she'll do a review before starting.

I took Prof. Baskin for enc1101 and had a great experience. The class was easy and she is a very easy grader. As long as you show up to class and do the work you will pass.

I took Professor Baskin for an English class and only took Film just because shes a very engaging professor. Im not a big fan of movies so I didnt love Film but her teaching style was excellent!

There are a lot of assignments in the course. If you don't organize your time well, it will be too much. The payoff is worth it. She takes such time to appreciate your work. She encourages her students to express themselves and she is so kind and respectful of her feedback. I wish all professors cared for the success of their students like Baskin.

I don't like writing, but she made it clear what I needed to do and how to write a 5 paragraph paper. She writes encouraging comments with each paper and gives suggestions on what to change or add. This class was in-class, but due to Covid, had to switch online. She made it an easy transition. She's very warm and friendly, making it fun to learn.

Prof. Amy Baskin is an angel. She makes English such a fun subject. She cracked a lot of cute jokes and showed us some funny videos from time to time. I actually took the 7 week humanities class and loved her! She's so sweet and helpful, very forgiving grader. I turned in multiple assignments late and she didn't even take points off. There are a lot of assignments (because it's a 7 week class) but honestly it was the easiest I've taken at FSCJ. There really is no excuse to fail this class.

Professor Baskin is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. I have never been great at English courses and she definitely made me enjoy taking an English class. She's very good at giving feedback and will make sure to help you if you are in need of extra help. She is a professor I would for sure learn from again and recommend to others.

Prof. Baskin is amazing, although the course was online, she truly cared about each student's work submitted and gave clear feedback and criticism. I cannot recommend her enough! Very easy to navigate online with detailed modules letting you know when discussions/assignments are due. She has a 48-hour grace period if you miss an assignment.

Professor Baskin's ENC1101 class is a gem. She's caring, detail-oriented, and really helps students thrive. The workload is manageable, and unstuck study was a game-changer for my study prep. Highly recommend this course!

Professor Baskin is literally the sweetest. As long as you do all your homework you'll get a good grade. The work was not difficult and she gives a grace period if you can't print it out in time. Would absolutely take her again.

Enjoyed this class. Got my creative juices flowing. Fair grader, you have to do work, but she doesn't dock if late. Lots of discussion boards, but they use the work from the assignments.
