Class is really easy, NO HOMEWORK, you can read an hour before you come to class, she assigns you to look up interesting things like how slave trade is still tied to some institutions today like bank of america, wachovia, etc etc. THE CLASS IS SUPER EASY.

Professor Amy Bell is absolutely AMAZING, not to mention her class was a blast. She is very understanding person and will always try to help you out. Her tests are very easy to score an A IF YOU READ! What's great though is you'll actually want to read! You'll wish you could take her class over again!

Took this class online. There was a lot of reading, but you could scan through it pretty quickly. Basically, consisted of about a dozen discussion boards over reading assignments and some videos. Was very lenient with posts after the due date and if you do more than the required 10, it counts as extra credit. Take it, you learn and it's an easy A!

Took for ALCE History and Sociology with Coder. Greatest class of all time! I do not know how she is in a regular basic class but in this class she was awesome!! No tests, you have to read the stuff to be "accepted." Journals, Discussion every single class period, interesting stuff! TAKE AMY BELL!

Interesting non-traditional and more accurate history class. I made an A in the class but it was more work than I expected for an on-line program. Not real hard just time consuming. Well worth the time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I did a lot of writing, which is something that I enjoy, so that was good for me. The content kept my interest regardless of what we were talking about because Amy always provides stories and film clips that keep things interesting. Overall I really enjoyed this class.

Professor Bell's class is exactly how History should be taught EVERYWHERE, with the truth and ALL the grisly details. There are a lot of discussion boards and reading you need to do but it is all very interesting, I definitely didn't find myself sleeping in this class. Only 3 papers to do. I have never enjoyed Hist this much in my life! I actually felt sorrow when it ended. Dr. Bell is not like other profs who teach what the t/b says. Her lectures are all based on true history. Very interesting and thought-provoking class. There is so much left out of our histories, and if you are wondering what they are, definitely take this class!

The text discussion wins the course from me. The course is gearded to make you rethink and to question history as it is taught. That was great. I do wish she had tailored the class a little more specifically and given feedback. I received none. An A is pretty easy just by _mostly_ reading the texts.

Easy class if you want it to be. Read about thirty pages and discuss in class. You don't take test ,but you do have to write three essays. Easy class, but if you don't do your reading she will pop quiz you and she will know if you be reading. Thirty pages isn't that much to read anyway at least not for a history class at least.

This was the most eye opening course I have ever taken! Take Amy Bell. All of these negative views obviously didn't bother to actually try to understand her course! It's challenging.

Grades weren't posted until the last week of class so you did not have a clue what you were going to end up with. She posted the class late on the start date and then only posted 2 DB for the first 2 of the 7 weeks of class. I was worried she wasnt going to post anymore or I would have to rush to get it finished. Overall, I would not take her class

This class was extremely easy but not very interesting. We spent way too much time on slavery. No grades are ever posted. It is two days until this class ends and there are absolutely no grades posted. You have no idea what you are making or even have a clue what you might make. I would not recommend this class to others.

Literally finished this online class in a week, and I got an A+. I don't even know how. I wasn't expecting that at all. So, she's an extremely lenient grader. Furthermore, the content was highly interesting. I wish I had spent more time on this course, because theres was alot to learn.

Fantastic professor! Lectures are all about open discussion about our History. She does not filter anything out, she teaches you about the REAL U.S. History. Grades consist of 14 discussion board assignments, 4 are extra credit, and 3 short essays. If you attend lectures and are actively engaged you will have no problem with the assignments!

The class is super easy if you participate. The content that we learn is interesting and I think Professor Bell did a great job incorporating discussions and videos into the course. There are only 3 deadlines to which all the assignments are due. I always have a bad time then because I complete everything in one day. Would take again.

Though history is my least favorite subject, this class made it interesting and relatable. Textbooks were not needed since they were provided online. The only down side was the reading, there was a lot of it. Other than that the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I also enjoyed the inspirational quotes she posted to the announcement board.

I'd like to say that this class was very informative and full of character. It was an online course so lots of reading and video watching was required, but if you do what is required, you'll get an A. The lectures were so much fun and she really makes history interesting. Her class is all discussion based and everything you need for your assignments you can get by taking notes over the discussions in class. You don't need to buy an access code or a book, she gives second chances but don't take it for granted, she replies to emails within the 24 hours, she doesn't ask for much, just do your work and always do the extra credit it will help you get an A. The extra credit is really easy don't be lazy. I'm lazy but I did it and got an A.

Favorite teacher here. Had her 1301 and loved it so I took 1302 too. Really funny teacher, during the whole election, she explained to our class ( really diverse ) that she was with us and was scared too for the students that were diverse. Only thing I didn't like was that the 1302 class was a copy/paste of 1301. Really easy though.

Professor Bell is a real gem at Richland College. You won't find a better history teacher that will teach you what really happened throughout history. The best part is you talk about it so much in class you don't even realize that you're learning, but you are! Only 3 due dates, heavy on writing, but NO multiple choice tests that will make you cry.

Classes consist of online discussion boards where you watch videos or reach chapters and then discuss what you have learned. Lectures involve class discussion and sometimes watching movies. If you stay on top of your work and do one discussion board a week, it will be very simple. But if you wait to the last minute to do them all, it will be hell.

I took her as a flex term and although it was fairly easy, there is TONS AND TONS of reading and watching videos. Lots of work but mostly your own thoughts and opinions. The only problem I had is she puts in all grades at the very end so you have no idea what you're going to make and she's kind of a tough grader. I did find the topics interesting!

THIS CLASS IS AMAZING! It's so enlightening and I would definitely take it on campus. Miss Bell is hilarious and relateable, and attending class just felt like having fun debates with friends. There's a lot of video-watching and group discussions, and the online work is easy and flexible. Miss Bell was very kind & considerate and gave us free days!

This course is great for large-group discussions. Professor Bell will say things that really make you think, allow you to form articulate comments with classmates, and let you share your thoughts on touchy subjects in history. Respects anyones views, whether she agrees with you or not. Has a good attitude and is very easy to learn from.

I took another professor for Hist 1301 in Brookhaven college, and I really dragged to class I didn't enjoy it at all nor did I learned anything although I did get an A. You can't go wrong with choosing Amy Bell for HIST 1301. She does well to make learning the real portions of history interesting for us. Above all, she teaches you to think more critically about the history we've been taught and the repercussions of teaching history the wrong way. I highly recommend taking her course!

This is my all time favorite teacher. She gave updated material that was more than just a textbook, pulling sources that related to present day in every lesson I highly recommend if youre looking to get a new appreciation of history!!

Not your traditional history class where you have to memorize dates/names for exams and then forget everything after. Lots of discussions, both online and in class. Textbooks are free, three essays, no quizzes or exams. Lenient on grading. Attendance not mandatory and recommended; lectures will help with essays. Hilarious and gives extra credit.

Solid history teacher who gives you a new look on history lessons. Makes it a bit more interesting. However readings/videos are tedious & long. Very reasonable time due dates. The work isn't hard if you just sit down and attempt to get it done. Worst part is grading takes long, so not sure whether extra credit should be done or not.

She was and still is and awesome teacher when I had/have her in classes. She told us eye opening things in class, which made a lot of sense in the time that I had her.

A fantastic choice for HIST. Professor Bell really cares about students learning about the missing pieces in their historical educational, and as long as you keep up with the discussion boards and know what to write for the major essays, you'll be set. Also no declarative knowledge here, memorizing dates is meaningless.

Professor Bell was AMAZING! I had her online history 1301 course. She made it very clear what the grading criteria was. Deadlines are clear, and very manageable. Lots of reading, but its such a great course. I love the way she approached this history course. I would take again if given the chance.

Really recommend taking her for History for an online class. The assignments were very clear and did had a great impact on comprehending the content. She is also very caring and if you have any questions she would help. Don't hesitate on choosing her class. You won't regret it!

I really like her class. She opens up my eyes a lot about the situation in the American history. I would recommended you to not take an online class though because you will have to be reading a lot. She a really easy grader also!

Professor Amy Bell made it easy to fall in love with History. Her approach to the subject is refreshing, humorous, and memorable. In her class, be prepared for laughter, group work, and creative lectures. The book for the class, that is, the last time I checked, is free and digital. --Fact: A physical copy can be purchased for very, very cheap.

LOVED Prof Amy Bells class, very easy there are no tests, just discussions and written assignments. If you know how to write, you will pass this class. She is very lenient on due dates which is great for all the students. In her class I accidentally only submitted half my paper, she was very understanding and if you email her she will help you out

Professor Bell is fantastic! She is so understanding of the fact that you have a life outside of college. There are only 3 due dates throughout the entire semester and you have ample time to get all the discussion boards and 3 essays that are really simple done. There is a lot of reading but the textbooks are free. Highly recommend!

I took her 1301 & 1302 class bc I loved her class. She teaches the side of history that we typically dont learn. You watch a lot of videos & she wants you take notes but its not a grade but to make the class easier take the notes. Theres 14 assignments 4 are extra credit & 3 essays. Assignments are 150 words over the lessons & you can use notes.

I took Professor Bell for both HIST 1301 and 1302. There are 14 discussion posts, 4 are extra credit (so you only need to do 10 to get a 100 for the discussion board part) There's also 3 writing assignments 3-5 pages, so very manageable. She does teach HIST from a "underdog" standpoint, so be prepared for something different. Easy A class!

I don't even like history but Professor Bell's method of teaching will really change that. She teaches concepts that usually aren't historically popular, and really makes you think outside the box. After each section of material, you write about what you've learned or found interesting. As long as you read the material, you should be fine.

Highly recommend!! Prof Bell is amazing! Yes there is a lot of reading, but its history what do you expect? No test or quizzes only 3 papers and DBs. Nothing is due till end of semester which is amazing and you can even finish this class way early because of that. Taking her again in summer!

I love her so much. Very considerate of students and their circumstances and will easily give you extensions. No tests or quizzes or a final. Just discussion boards that she actually makes interesting and 3 essays. 10 mandatory dbs and 4 for extra credit. Take her and you wont regret it. At all. She also answers emails really quick too!

I absolutely loved professor Bell. She is so down to earth and by far the most understanding and encouraging professor Ive had in my 2 years of college. There is a lot of reading but its super easy and actually very interesting. The readings will have you hooked. Posts assignments but only some are required and the rest are extra credit. 10/10!

Honestly, you can't find someone better to teach you history. HER MATERIAL IS SO MUCH FUN!! Like every topic you learn is going to be interesting. She is really flexible and the sweetest person, replies to emails super quick, and is just the kinda professor you want. Highly recommend.

Professor Bell makes History 1302 very interesting to learn. There's a lot of reading from two books and ten discussion board that have 150 words at the minimum. The history that was taught made me more aware of so much and very intrigued. From articles, book readings, and videos, you'll be believing that you're a scholar after finishing the class.

This class was really easy, just a bit time consuming. There are 14 discussions boards divided into three parts. In each part, you write a paper and submit it by the "due date" given, although the real due date is just the week before the last day of class. You can easily get ahead if you need to, but the teacher doesn't grade until the last week.

I gave this professor a difficult rating because her essays are pretty tough. Discussion Boards are the only assignments you need to do and they aren't hard, just involved. I learned a lot of important information about US history and I encourage anyone to take this course to gain a further insight on America.

I took an accelerated course online and found the class to be quite lovely. Many of the discussion boards are about things YOU found interesting, so the discussion boards feel like a genuine conversation with other students. The papers can be fun if you read the chapters and participate in the discussion boards.

I took history 1301 and 1302. Amy Bell is a good professor and the layout is simple. I really enjoyed taking this class. Both the classes I took were online for the full 16 weeks and were very manageable.

I took this class as a summer course and it was great. I honestly though there was going to be a lot of boring homework, but this class was simple and not hard. Something else that was cool is that she gives dates to turn everything in, but she let's you turn it in late and doesn't take off points. I really recommend!

Love Professor Bell! Had her for HIST-1301 and was still incredible. 3 units-1 major essay per unit. Lots of DBs, but you have the option to do which ones you want. If you do all, you get extra credit. She cares for her students greatly and offers many chances to turn in late work. Responds efficiently, but sometimes takes a while to grade. 10/10!

A really, REALLY easy class, but also very informative and enjoyable! We used great reading materials and Professor worked hard to open students' minds to a new side of history. This was the easiest class I've ever taken, but Professor doesn't give detailed feedback on our essays. If I got a bad grade, I wouldn't know why, which was frustrating.

Professor Bell is an amazing, kind, and inspirational professor. Throughout this class, the discussions were self explanatory, informative, and easy to receive A's on.The work wasn't just busy work. So many myths were broken, the reading was super interesting--as well as the videos, and the overall class experience was great!

Pretty easy class and the grading isn't too strict. Best advice is to space your work out since all assignments are discussion boards and essays with movies or chapter reading assigned to them. Course work can be tedious and time consuming, but nothing is too difficult.

Excited professor with a lot to say. If you love to write like me it shouldnt be a problem. Get ready to write a LOT. Maybe it was a 3 weeks course so it felt a little heavy but in the end it was still doable. Shes also very nice and responsive.

FIGHT TO BE IN THIS CLASS!!! This was the most organized, easy to navigate and manage, online course I have EVER taken. You will be doing yourself a disservice by not taking this online course. Most of the lessons include videos and documentaries to watch in addition to the textbooks, so I never truly had to worry about having enough time to read.

Super easy class. I managed to complete the entirety of the course in only a few days. You are primarily graded by discussion boards, with some essays also being mixed in the process. Not only was the class easy, but it was also very interesting, and often times delved into issues around how history is taught. If you want an easy A, take her.

Class is very easy, but can be tedious with the readings. Grading is often delayed, and feedback for essays is minimal, but not a big deal if you do the extra credit discussion boards, which is an extra 10 points onto your grade.

She's also understanding about due dates and is willing to give extensions if you ask. I finished the class with over a 100 for my final grade and would definitely recommend taking her course.
