Too much information and work I could barely keep up. Ended up getting very sick for lack of sleep. She is doing the best that she can but, just like any other university professor, is clearly overwhelmed with too many students. As an individual I really like her, she really cares about you.
ARGH!
Crazy Cramer. She is a good teacher and explains things well. However, she is too energetic and crazy for me. If you have a small class, she will make you go crazy. Try to get a big lecture class if you can. Or try Swanson
She is very energetic about economics... the only reason why i'm doing well is because of the extra credit. TESTS are impossible, nothing she teaches is on the test. U have homework every week as well as newspaper responses. Lots of busy work. TAKE swanson if u can...
WAY TO ENERGETIC AND LOUD! gives lots of extra credit! weekly assignments make no sense and are not helpful. Take swanson. Trys to make class fun but instead wastes tons of time jibber jabbering about nonsense. Tests are pretty hard, definitly need to go to LOTS of hours for help. B- class
Econ tests should be universal for all Econ Classes. That is how Accounting classes are. Cramers tests are...unfair, to say it lightly, infuriating, to say it truthfully. Alan Greenspan himself would have trouble answering the essay portions. I cannot stress this enough, TAKE SWANSON! Please trust me.

Thank you for everything. I never realized how all those policies effect me. Now I have a clear opinion of were I stand on the issues.
Dr. Cramer makes a somewhat boring subject fun and interesting. Everything is online and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. She also does a very good job of applying the class is a way that everyone can use it in everyday life.
Class was very easy because Professor Cramer made everything so clear. She was always pumped to talk about every subject and made it relate in some way. Great class, and a Great Teacher.
Dr. Cramer is an awesome teacher and truly passonate about this subject which is very nice to see in a teacher. Although class can be a little long sometimes, she makes it exciting and relates it to the real world, something very important. She is motivating and I would highly recommend students taking her class.
I've never had a teacher, let alone a professor, to jump up and down and scream while preaching about liberalism. The New York Times? Come on. That was my most expensive course this semester, and it made me mad, considering I had 2 science lectures and labs. What a waste of time.
This is the best class I have taken at the U of A in my 2 years of attending. Dr. Cramer made the class fun and easy to learn the material. She is one of the best professors I have had. I have learned so much from this class that I am now deciding to major in Economics. Great Class!!! Tip: Do all extra credit and go to TAs for Current Events!
easy to get an A through extra credit... other than that it was hard to understand the material and was covered too quickly
Ms. Cramer was one of the best teacher's I've ever had. Her class is hard compared to Mr. Swanson's Econ 200 but it was still relatively easy. She loves what she doesn and is great at keeping things interesting, I didn't miss a day of class!
I really enjoyed her class. She is very enthusiastic and shows that she really knows what she is teaching. Dr. Cramer gets the class involved and is honest and tries to accomidate to everyone.
It was a good class, she's very enthusiastic and obviously loves what she teaches. The extra credit is definately a plus, it helped me better understand the issues learned in class. The whole assigned seating during testing was stupid, but it's not just her...it's Eller.
I loved the class. The teachers energy level made it really easy to learn. Some of the current event analysis were bad examples. My recommendation is to talk more about conventional theory prior to the final, that was a little unfair. All in all, a terrific class!
Her energy keeps you awake no matter what time you take it; she makes ECON as entertaining as is possible. You can get 100pts of extra credit (10% of overall grade) if your willing to participate in class and do three simple EC assignments. "Essay" assignments are basically a giveaway 300 pts (3 assignments). Lg portion of exams based of essay assg
Amy's energy kept me captivated not to mention entertained through every single class. Her particular method of teaching is very effective in getting major ideas to stick, after that the details come easily. The key to doing well in this class: go to lecture.
I thought she was overly enthusiastic with the class. She got too involved and energetic about EVERYTHING. This made me not know when things were truely important or if it was just her being in love with econ. She's nice and the class is very easy due to the tons of extra credit. It's nearly impossible not to get at least a B in the class.
Gives A LOT of extra credit
Great professor! If you have a chance to take it with her, do! As others have said, she is very energetic, gets your attention and keeps it. The extra credit is a nice bonus. The tests are not hard to do well on becuase she gives you a study guide.
Best teacher I have had in my entire life! I took the equivilant course at Pima (same class material) and learned so much! Without a teacher like Amy the material is dry and boring but she does her best to incorporate media, class partisipation and is always open to feedback from her students. Learned a great deal in class!
She teaches with a lot of enthusiasm and if you go into her office hours she is very helpful.
Great professor. She makes econ applicable to anyone. It makes you want to learn and listen because you can use all the information in your future. It has definitely made me a more informed citizen.
Dr. Cramer is wonderful, she actualy cares about her students and thats really nice to see. Plus her class is easy, and intresting(mega rare for a 400 person lecture) if you just do the work and come to class, there is no reason to get anything other than an A.
She was extremely distracting from the information. She tried, but if she would calm down the information would be a lot easier to understand. It's possible to get an A with ease. She wastes so much time in class with excess clips, tangents about her running, etc. If she would stop dancing and yelling things would be a lot easier to understand.
Make sure you use the TA office hours!!! Makes the class 10x easier.
She is not only easy to understanf but she engages the lecture hall in a interesting and often fun way. Lots of opportunity for extra credit which helps balance out test grades. Really great instructor and person! Loved her class!
This is the BEST ECON class at UA. 1) Do you like to be engaged by the teacher? 2) Do you like to get free candy in class? 3) Have boring info made fun and enjoyable? 4) Get lots of extra credit for participation? 5) Learn about actual practical real world items you can use in your life? 6) Easy to get an A? THEN THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU!! MUST HAVE!!
well...is she ok? Some mental problems are going on. you can not be rich with econ major...
Fun teacher lots of energy... pretty much the definition of a good teacher
Cramer is very energetic and nice. The class is long, but she keeps you awake with her movie clips and dance moves. GO TO TA OFFICE HOURS! They basically give you answers to everything... =) great class!
She actually makes econ interesting.
I honestly have to say her class was not that boring for an econ class, but it was very confusing at times. I basically dug myself into the whole in the beginning, because I didn't understand the graphs and didn't end up doing well! So my advice is def keep up with the work and for sure go to office hours, I feel like that will guarantee you an A!
Lecture can drag at times but she makes an effort to show clips and stuff that help you understand the concepts. Her enthusiam in every class was refreshing. Gives a lot of opportunity for extra credit. To do well on the tests, fill out the Note Organizer and go to office hours for the material you don't understand.
i can not stress this enough. GO TO TA OFFICE HOURS. they help sooooo much. I got an A with little studying. Just go to class. Take notes. Fill out the note organizer. Then go to office hourse. Not hard. Easy A.
Dr. Cramer is a fantastic teacher. Her energy is high and she makes class enjoyable. Econ is a somewhat difficult course and Dr. Cramer takes this into consideration. She gives lots of extra credit and is very helpful. Take advantage of all the extra credit...it will help your grade. She informs you on things that actually apply to the world.
great teacher.
Dr. Cramer does a great job teaching. There is a lot of studying for the class and econ just sucks...if you like the subject or have to take it for our major, take it with Cramer, if you don't avoid all econ classes...they are the worst.
Great teacher... The class gets kind of hard during the Micro section. She does a great job of educating you on the issues of our time, something that will be useful for the rest of our lives.
Dr. Cramer was an awesome professor. I was an Environmental Science major when I took the class and it was great. Take the class if you want to be a more informed person about economics and politics! Both of these things affect every aspect of your life and are so important. Dr. Cramer was awesome, for sure take the class with her! :)
Fantastic teacher. Things were clear and she was so passionate that it was impossible not to walk away with a lot from this class. If only it wasn't a lecture at U of A full of kids who talk and don't care during lecture would it be really worthwhile.
This is the one class I have taken here at the U where I actually learned something that I will use in the future, no matter what career path I take. She is very interesting, and I am now an educated voter because of her lectures. It's too bad shes only teaching at Pima next year, shes the most effective teacher I've had.
I didnt enjoy this class at all.. didnt learn anything and the homework didnt really relate to the class notes.. she never went over anything that we did in the homework so it was point less... MY ROOMMATE HAD SWANSON AND SAID THAT TEACHER WAS WAYYYYYYYYY BETTER
Great Teacher. Go to class and do the extra credit and it will be easy to get an A
Mrs. Cramer was the best economic teacher I have every been lucky to come across in class. She is not only interested that we understand the lectures, but that we apply them to our lives, and I believe every teacher should recognize this mentality. I might have not received the best grades, but I continued to put the effort, beause she did.
I used to think Econ sucked...but Prof. Cramer's lectures used lots of video clips and used a lot of different assignments and extra credit that really helped me learn the ropes of econ...I am an anthropology major...but am now interested enough to continue studying economics.
Cramer knows how to teach students. I feel that after taking this class I can discuss economic issues and vote responsibly. She's funny, though it is sometimes unintentional. Moreover, she had a heart attack this semester and kept teaching. I admire her greatly.
Highly recommended. Rare, valuable content (principles from alternative perspectives). Anyone can learn classical economics anywhere, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a course that considers alternative perspectives. Possible improvements: Inclusion of more mathematics in micro section, and faster pace/more content throughout whole course.
I would recommended this teacher to anyone and everyone! I had her during my 2008 spring semester and she was great. She's very fun to talk to and very energetic in class. On top of all that, I learned a lot from her class. She spoke very clearly and explained things very well. If you pay attention in her class, you will get a good grade.
Cramer is awesome!!! Easy A
Amy Cramer was one of the best teachers I have ever had! Highly recommended for ECON 200 she was interesting to watch and made the class fun. She offers extra credit based on in-class participation.
One of the Best Professors here at the UofA! Great teacher! She is very motivated at what she does! She loves to teach! I got an A and I will be interning for her dentist and hopefully be her preceptor! Take this class!!
Dr. Cramer was one of the best professors I have ever had! I used to have no interest in econ and now Im so interested, Ive had other econ teachers who dont even come close to comparing to how great she was!
Best professor that I have had at U of A. The class is still challenging but she gives you lots of opportunites to succeed.
Great teacher. Knows her stuff, interesting topic, challenging tests and assignments, but at the same time its definitely doable. That goes for even an average student. People swear by Swanson, who I've never had, but Dr. Cramer was awesome and I have regrets taking the class with her.
She was so entertaining during class. She was really energetic about economics and it was so obvious that she loves her job. I was not excited AT ALL to take economics until I took her class. I thought it was going to be impossible but she explained all the concepts really well and I didn't do too bad in the class. take her class!
Great teacher she made me realize how important econ is. one of the best at UA
Dr. Cramer was fantastic. She has a great teaching style and makes all the concepts very easy to understand. Do any extra credit opportunities as soon as they show up--this will make your life much easier come the end of the semester.
She may have rubbed me the wrong way when I was trying to get into the class, but she definitely more than made up for it in her lectures. Definitely the best professor I've had so far. Sincerely cares that her students learn and teaches very effectively. Night classes are a pain, but this one is worth your time and effort.
One of the best professors I have had at the U of A. She gives every student many opportunities to succeed (i.e. bonus points in class, and many extra credit assignments). She is extremely helpful and most of her lectures held my attention the entire class time. Overall, if you work hard do all the extra credit work, an A is definetly in reach.
She doesn't post notes online and it is easy to fall behind if you don't attend. Really willing to help and gives out LOTS of extra credit...and lots of chocolate. Great teacher!
Awesome teaching style helps you understand all sides of econ theories while making it very fun. I pay more attention to the news because of her and I am enthralled by it.
BEST teacher at the UA!
She is one of my favorite teachers that teach at the University. Her lectures are difficult however she makes the class very enjoyable. She is very enthusiastic about what she does and it makes the class enjoyable to attend.
Great teacher, makes class enjoyable (considering its a 630pm class) Her lectures are VERY hard. I had a hard time understanding what she said, thus probably making my grade of what it may be. Swanson sounds more promising, just a note.
She is a great teacher. The class itself is pretty hard but she really helps you learn te Material and she really cares that you learn. Really recommend her!!
Amy Cramer is an interesting woman with equally as interesting lectures. She is passionate about economics, and by god, she will not let you forget it. She's very devoted to helping her students learn and keeps everyone's attention with her lecturing. You MUST go to the lectures, but don't worry, you'll want to keep going after the first one.
Professor Cramer is an amazing and helpful teacher. Overall, ECON 200's material was boring but by no means difficult. Cramer gives the student's ample opportunity to get an A with tons of extra credit, help with Apalia after class, and office hours. Take Cramer for ECON 200!
Great professor who is very passionate about what she teaches. Must attend the lectures, but she keeps your attention and makes the information interesting and shows you how it affects you in life. Gives out plenty of extra credit and herself and the TAs are always there after class for questions or help with homework. I really enjoyed the class.
I would say this class is ok. Was not hard by any means but econ does not really interest me that much. If you love talking politics then you will love this class. Nice lady and easy to understand. Not so bad.
Good Teacher but TA doesn't show up for office hours. Wished she posted notes online
She's a great professor and is very passionate about what she teaches. She pretty much sets you up for an A, just show up to class, take notes, and do the work. She gives you all the necessary resources to succeed. Plus there's tons of extra credit opportunities.
Nice lady. She cares about her students and the topic. Not a difficult class if you just show up and do the work. One of the better teachers I had this semester
Nice lady. She cares about her students and the topic. Not a difficult class if you just show up and do the work. One of the better teachers I had this semester
Amazing teacher. Best teacher i've had at u of a. Very helpful and shes really into the material. You learn the material by going to class because she's so into it and also go to class cause the notes arent online. Tests are graded tough but there's extra credit.
Fantastic teacher! Keeps your attention even in her night class! (the Pollard of ECON!) Exams are not too bad, but do good one the early ones as the final is more tricky! Do the EC, 100 pts available, 1000 pts in the class, so that is 10% right there! Can get help from TAs for all other assignments, take advantage of this!
GREAT! She is an awesome professor, trys her hardest to keep you interested. I recommend this class. BUT GO TO CLASS! the notes are important and will help a lot when it come to the test. She gives you the answers you need. DO THE EC!! if you do enough and get good grades, you might not have to take the final.
She is a great professor. Her goal is to make you a knowledgable voter for future elections. I have learned a lot in this course and it is not even in my major. If you attend class and take good notes you should be fine. SHE DOES NOT POST HER NOTES. The homework is online and due each morning at 8AM of class day.
One of my favorite professor! She wants you to succeed in this course and in your life. She's really helpful and the exams are not hard. If you study for the exams, you will get an A in this class.
She is a great teacher definitely recommend. I read comments and you people who say the class is easy are crazy. If you show up and do the work you will pass. The tests are still hard in my opinion
GREAT!a fun teacher that I never seen before! Strongly reccomand!
Professor Cramer is super excited about her topic and her teaching shows it, this class is ridiculously easy if you pay attention and do the 100pts of extra credit available. The whole class is only out of 1000 and there are three 120pt. assignments that are only graded for completion. The ties to voting also make the class very interesting.
Professor Cramer was one of my favorite teacher at the UA thus far! Her class is one of the best! Her class basically involves attending class, doing the online hmwk RIGHT AFTER with the TAs, completing the News Analysis, and rewriting your notes a week before exams to prepare! I found that really helped me in the long run!
Very good teacher- she made ECON very interesting for me and helped me decide on my views with politics and everyday issues. There is always opportunities for help either from her or the T.A.'s. Harder tests - make sure you STUDY. And always memorize the essay answers!! Take advantage of staying after class to do HW and do the extra credit!! :)
Love her class! She made me want to major in economics. Plus if you love chocolate, you will love her.
Great professor! Pay attention as her exams are tough, but if you actually GO to class you will do fine. Unbelievable amount of extra credit given out.
She is a great teacher and her class is super easy. The tests are little hard though so study for them but she gives 100 points extra credit and if you dont get at least 50 of those points you didnt try. I only need a 45 on the final to get an A in the class now! Theres homework every night before class but stay to get help after class with the TAs
Professor Cramer's tests were difficult but there was A LOT of opportunity for extra credit. Also, make sure you get EVERY point you can for homework assignments, you can do this by staying afer class. I failed all of the tests and still earned a B in the course.
Professor Cramer is an amazing teacher. Her passion definiely shows in her desire to engage the entire class (of 500 students!) Her tests were difficult but extra credit opportunities were avaiable for test make-up. Extra credit points were available every day. Truly a magnificent professor.
Best professor at the university, hands down. Cramer is incredibly passionate, interesting and brilliant. She devotes more time preparing for the class than any of my other professors and genuinely wants her students to do well in, and outside of, the classroom. If you work hard in her class, you'll most likely end up earning an A or B.
ONLY CLASS I CLASS I ENJOYED GOING TO!!Cramer is by far the best Prof. I have had at the uofa. Didnt care for Econ to much prior to the class, but after its my major. She takes a usually difficult topic and relates it to our everyday society making it easy to learn. Tests are hard but the mass amount of extra credit makes up for it.TAKETHISCLASS
The exams were very difficult during the semester. But the News Analysis was very easy, if you understand the topic. ATTENDANCE is MANDATORY! As the semester progresses the topic becomes very complicated. Take advantage of extra credit when offered. Can make a huge difference in your grade. Her lectures are very informative about the economy.
ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I HAVE HAD AT THE UofA!! She cares about every student in her section, so if you gave some effort, then an A or B is EASY to obtain. Tests were pretty hard but the News Analysis helps with balancing the two! A MUST TAKE CLASS!!
Best teacher ever! so many extra credit opportunities! i got a 98% in this class thanks to extra credit! she plays clips and engages everyone in activities to keep interest which is good for the night class! Very helpful even did phone meetings to clarify materials! take this professor!
two group projects that take a ton of time. also if you don't go to class its with 10 points and the T.A.'s take more points off for being on your phone. the quizzes are easy if you go to the office hours they will give you the answers. one pro is she really passionate about what she is teaching.
This is the most frustrating gened I have ever taken at this school. I took this class AFTER taking econ200 bc i thought it would be an easy way to finish my 150's. The tests require a ridiculous amount of time and work (and they are group tests which make it so much worse). Not worth it. Take a different 150. Her lectures are unbearable to sit in
Dr. Cramer's class is very progressive in nature. She presents economics in a multi-perspective format focusing on the Conservative , Liberal , and Radical perspectives. Instead of focusing on individual assignments and tests, the class is comprised primarily of two major projects labelled exams. There are plenty of opportunities for extra-credit.
Professor Cramer's VOTE Program helped me become more knowledgeable about the different economic perspectives and as a result I learned more about myself and others. Participation and attendance was important, and the group projects required a decent amount of time, but it was all worth it in the end.
Amy Is one of the best professors I have ever had, she is is passionate about what she does and shows. She truly is changing the world for the better with the Vote program she runs. She has the rare ability to show the pros and cons from the conservative, liberal, and radical perspective, without using her own personal view point or influences.
The Vote program was great. Gave unbiased insight on the economy and the class is filled with great content. Would highly recommend.
my absolute favorite teacher at the university of arizona thus far. she was so inspiring and connected each topic to how it would effect our young lives. she was animated, brilliant, and somehow so very unbiased on something as touchy as economics. she made it clear from day one how very much we matter to her and you felt it in every class.
Honestly Amy is one of the best professors ever!! I knew so little about economics before but now I have a basic understanding of economic issues & from *multiple* viewpoints. Amy totally cares that you learn and is so approachable. Everything I've learned I've been able to apply to in the "real world" and my non-econ major. Highly recommend!!
