Really good teacher...she's nice and she makes everything really easy

She is a great teacher. She has a wonderful attitude. She is very welcome to help anyone. She makes things easier to understand.

Excellent teacher, but she went a little bit too fast for me to watch what she was doing on the board, understand everything, AND take notes at the same time.

If you want to take super hard tests and quizzes take her! She is happy to help you whenever you need but she is way too hard. I've made As in every math class I have taken for a while and I"m making a C in her class right now...

awesommmmmmeeeeee!!!!! Skim through the book before class so you have an idea of what is going to be covered in class, it'll help with note taking A LOT. She is a pretty fun person who cares about her students. An overall amazing person. If your not at school to learn, I wouldn't recommend her class. Take it if you want to learn something :)

A good teacher. She keeps things interesting and keeps one's attention. She is also very helpful and is willing to help whenever possible. My main complaint though is her tests. They are very unpredictable to study for. I understood most of the concepts and material, but the tests showed otherwise. It's like she chooses the hardest problems.

Dr. Erickson is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had and she is so helpful. Her tests and quizzes are pretty straight forward, and relatively easy depending your math abilities and if you did the homework. My grade in her class was 10pts higher than when I took algebra in high school. I highly reccomend her.

Kind, intelligent, and enthusiastic about teaching. Unless you are naturally gifted at math, getting an A in her class will be very difficult. She loves putting tricky word problems on her exams and quizzes. Exams also only have few problems (~10), so if you miss one, you're automatically down 10-12 points. Overall: Good prof. but difficult exams.

I LOVE professor Erickson! She's very helpful and always asks if there are any questions before she moves on to the next section. She gives quizzes every week, except when there's a test. The class itself can be a little challenging but if you do the homework and get descent grades on the quizzes, you should be fine. Take her!

She's a great professor but when it comes to late work it sucks. Over all I enjoyed this class. I already took calculus and this class was a breeze for me but the other students seemed to be eased by her teaching as well.

Dr. Erickson is extremely lively and her class is very well structured. The tests/quizzes are hard but you nearly always get partial credit so missing one answer does not automatically mean 10 points off. Great instructor over all.

Tries to be as clear as possible. Her exams are 5 questions at the most but they take up the whole class period. If you get the wrong answer, she will give you credit on your work. She's always there to help anyone. Would definitely take her again.

She's a very nice professor and she somehow makes you think you understand the subjects discussed in class. However, when it comes time to take a quiz or test you will know nothing. She teaches you problems in the simplest forms but finds obscure problems for the test! Getting an A is impossible. Also the online tests suck! Take at your own risk

One of the best professors I've ever encountered, Calculus is difficult but she does a great job at making sure you understand the material. Her exams are short in stature but take a lot of time. Quizes are straightforward. She gives you ample opportunity to succeed. Those complaining just didn't try or do all the work. She gives extra credit

Dr. Erickson is one of the nicest professors. She is helpful and keeps you interested. She is very hard though; I don't see how anybody can make an A in her class. You think you understand the material while she teaches but the tests don't match up. Projects are also very confusing. Make sure you pick a reliable group your grade will depend on it.

Supper nice, and energetic. She never gets frustrated and is always willing to re-explain anything. Tests are pretty hard and long because there is an online portion in addition to the typical class portion.

Dr. Erickson was such a great teacher! You can easily obtain a B or A in the class, but you have to put in the time. That, anyone can do. There's online homework due about every class period, and the tests are short and straightforward. She puts a lot of effort into motivating her class to be high achievers! ;P

Great Professor, unfathomably energetic. Willing to help whenever she can. Quizes and Exams can be a curveball if you dont understand the entire concept. Do the homework on average one homework assignment is equivalent to one point on your final grade. Highly Recommended Hands down.

I have no complaints about Mrs. Erickson. The course load is more than easy to handle and she teaches the material very well.

She is very pleasant, has a great sense of humor, and teaches the material very effectively. Allows cheatsheets for every exam, but the exams are still tricky. My only complaint is she assigns a horrible project that's worth 20% of your grade. There's nothing more pointless than a project in a math class. Textbook not needed since it's on MML.

Dr. Erickson is awesome. Very enthusiastic, happy, funny, helpful. She explains material very clearly. I'd highly recommend her.

Took her for Statistics. She keeps her lectures lively and will spend an ample amount of time on a single subject to make sure everyone in the room understands it. She doesn't give out a lot of homework, but her tests can be pretty tough. She'll even throw in a few curveballs which weren't gone over in class but were covered on the homework.

calculus is hard, but she is even harder. She is helpful and keeps you interested. She is very hard though; I don't see how anybody can make an A in her class. exams are extremely tough and don't match up with HW and class teaching.

Calc II is hard, but her class is harder. She explains the concepts in a simple way (you will think that you understood the material). But, the class gets tougher once you start using mymathlab. Tests and projects are much much harder than her examples. I would not recommend taking her class - unless you are not so worried about the grade.

She's extremely kind and always willing to help if you're struggling. And trust me, if you're taking her for Calc II, you WILL struggle. It is easily the most difficult class I have ever had. But her contagiously-positive spirit somehow made it easier to get through. I totally would recommend her.

Even though I find calculus to be generally easy, I had to work very hard to barely get an A. She does however try to help as much as she can. Paying attention and studying helps of course. Try to understand and get As on all of the MyMathlabs! It helps a bunch! Basically everything affects your grade, so only take this class if calc is your thing!

I'll preface this, Amy Erickson is a wonderful person. She's extremely nice and understanding. Do not let this fool you, her class is extremely hard and somehow you understand the material until you get to the test. She teachers you the very basics and then tests you on the hardest possible content. Take her if you want a challenge. You'll get one.

I love Dr. Erickson! I had perhaps the worst Calc 2 professor and was ready to give up on math, but she turned that all around for me! She loves math, and you can see it when she teaches. THAT'S WHAT MAKES A TEACHER SPECIAL. Anyways, go to class, take notes, ask questions, DO YOUR HW, and you'll be fine. She'll only help you if you ask.

She is Amazing! she can be tough when it comes to quizzes but overall her teaching is great. always come to class and be prepared. she is pretty jumpy when it comes to teaching, which you can tell her passion for math. def take her class you wont regret it!

Paying attention to her lectures is important, but it's also necessary to study the material on your own time. Very tough grader, quizzes each week, and homework every other day. The final even had a question that we have never even seen during the class. She's a nice and helpful person, but I wouldn't recommend her.

Had to take this class for my major and I was worried because I didn't do so great in College Algebra. She explains everything well and when asked a question she'll help you. We had a lot of HW because it was a haft-semester class but that is to be expected. Come to class and pay attention, & do the HW and you will be fine.

Weekly quizzes, hw due every other week. Self-study. Short lecture in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss quiz, you can't make up. Require a good amount of effort in class. Tests are easy. Quizzes are hard but it doesnt weight much. Give extra credits. Curve tests. Reply email fast. Willing to answer question n walk you thru if asking

Sometimes late and occasionally unorganized, but her class is really easy. She assigns alot of homework but if you do it, you'll do well on the exams

Doctor Erickson is a good teacher, and all you really need to do is make sure you do your MML homework, study and read ahead. Don't expect to do nothing in her class and get an A. But if you work hard and ask for help you can get an A.

Easily one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Dr. Erickson is very helpful and explains the material in a way in which everyone will understand. Most of the assignments are on mymathlab and are fairly easy. As long as you keep up with your work and take notes for the tests, you will do well in her class.

Good Algebra teacher, she goes over each topic, she might make a mistake here and there on a problem, make sure you do the homework on mymathlab, Class will have around 4 projects, all based on the current topic ya'll are on(easy way to boost your grade). Study guides are given for tests, and she gives credit for showing work on exams. Easy B-A

Dr. Erickson is such a nice and caring person! She takes her time to help you if you're actually trying in her class. Easy A-B. There's HW every other 3 days and she goes over any question you have on it. She gives a study guide before the exam and even puts on the schedule, a day to work on it. Attendance and participation is a MUST.

When I took her for the spring of 2017, She was a fantastic professor . She did not take late submission for the homework, which was on mymathlab, however the final replaced the lowest test grade and she did allow some small extra credit opportunities. She is a fantastic lecturer, the book and lectures are life your lifeblood so study.

Dr. Erickson is such a sweet professor! She has an extremely lovable disposition, is always very willing to help her students out, and is also very intelligent. She uses SPECS grading, which is more rigorous than conventional math classes, but it is also because of that that we get to really learn and master the material.

Great professor. She uses SPECS grading and SPECS is more difficult but it does make you know the material. She is always willing to help you as long as you are putting effort in and working with her to help improve your grade. Daily quizzes. Use MML to prepare. She is caring and always willing to work with you.

Dr. Erickson is amazing. She is so funny and makes the class so fun. You will not feel any stress in her class unless you finish your work on time. There are a lot of homework but very easy as long as you finish it in the same to get along with the lessons.

This class moves at a fast pace that takes some getting used to She allows for you to retake quizzes and does one-on-on tutoring. She explains things very well and slows down when you need her to.

Professor Amy H. Erickson is truly an amazing math professor who masters the ability to teach College Algebra well. SPECS grading is a new system of grading that many professors are now beginning to use, and Professor Erickson grades the class based on the inclass mini-quizzes and the final exam. I recommend taking her! She is awesome!!

Professor Erickson is great. She does SPECS grading which is awesome because if you fail a quiz you can retake it as many times as needed until you pass. You can easily end the semester with an A if you take her class. She is a great teacher, also!! I definitely recommend her.

I was somewhat worried about taking her after seeing these ratings, but she ended up being one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Her style of teaching helps me understand concepts better, as well as how they connect to other areas of math and how they're used in real life. She uses SPECS grading, and the class isn't an easy A, but not awful.

She was such an amazing math teacher! She gives so many retake chances, and will always help you out in anyway. She does not move fast and if you need to slow down and ask a question, she will stop and help you! no tests, only a short 20 question final. quizzes each week but for each quiz you can retake it 4 times till you get the grade you want!

Dr. Erickson is one of my favorite profs. She uses SPECS grading, which I personally liked. We would have a 5 ? quiz every other class & as long as you passed with a 70, you would get credit for the quiz & your actual grade wouldn't be affected. She is a thorough prof who was very lenient & got through all the material efficiently

Dr. Erickson was one of my favorite professors. My course was a SPECS grading class, so we had a series of quizzes instead of quizzes and exams. She has a good lecturing style and she is always there if you need help. Be prepare to read information ahead of class, when you come to class, she expects you to have seen the material prior to class.

One of the best profs I have ever had! Takes time to ensure you understand content and super chill. Introduce yourself on the first day and she will remember you! The sweetest woman :)

No attendance grade, but if you miss a lecture, you'll miss a lot. She has weekly quizzes and drops lowest grades in the end. She is open to answering questions and feedback.

Prof Erickson is really nice and wants you to succeed! Homework is due mostly every week on edfinity, and 1 quiz every week over the last week's material (easy). No tests! Only midterm and final. She's willing to give second chances and will reopen things if needed! Explains and answers any questions you have to help you understand material.

Professor Erickson is great. She's eager to help her students in and outside of class. Most of our assignments included doing homework problems on a website called Edfinity. There is usually a quiz every week with 4 questions each. Speaking from experience, do not take the midterm for granted. If you put in the work, this class will be a breeze.

Amazing professor, I loved her class! She was very caring and understandable. Be prepared for a lot of quizzes every week, but you'll able to retake them from tokens. Homework is optional but used for tokens. There are a lot of units to go through so classes did feel a bit rushed. Overall, I highly recommend taking her class and would do it again!

She uses specs grading which is 1-2 quizzes each week over recently learned material and NO test. I loved specs grading but some people don't. I only failed 1 quiz and retook it the next week. If you are good at math I 100% recommend but if you take longer to learn then I would not.

She doesn't deny helping students in & out of class. She thoroughly goes the steps to solve the problem & color codes to keep track. She will ask if everyone understands, too. The homework was harder & the resources weren't too helpful, but she will gladly help you through them. She checks up on the class & asks how everyone is.

Professor Erickson was great for the duration of Differential Equations. She was patient (sometimes too patient) with questions, explained difficult concepts well, was a fair grader, and is much better than many of the math professors I've had.

Great lectures, can use notes on tests and are relatively easy compared to the homework. Homework assigned every class, one project (was hard to understand and she doesn't really explain how to do it). There's a section in the gradebook called "Daily Grade" that has nothing in it as of November, so idk if attendance is mandatory for sure.

Highly recommend for Diff Eq. Kind, patient, ensures no one's left behind. Cengage homework annoying at times due to minimal help (especially the videos), so her guidance might be needed (though it might slow class progress). Homework preps very well for exams. Flexible with HW deadlines. Your best shot at an 'A'; alternatives might leave regrets.

Erickson's class was a great introduction to subject matter that was definitely difficult for me personally. Due to the nature of this course, we took a lot of time in class to fully understand each problem and formula. Another great thing is she will show you how to fully do a problem from the homework and the process unlike some other professors.

Very good professor. The content itself was very challenging but the professor was always there to help us with anything. She spent alot of time explaining to us the concepts so that we may grasp them firmly. Really helpful professor. This course Differential equations itself was very difficult. Don't take if you don't have to.

Despite the difficulty of the class, Dr. Erickson is an excellent professor. You can easily reach her via email and she even has office hours. She also checks in with the class at the beginning of every lecture. However, the homework on Webassign isn't that good. Definitely would recommend this professor for this course.

Dr. Erickson is a great professor. I would take her again but would not take the class again, because, well, it's hard. Homework did take hours to complete but you don't get better with something with little practice. She does offer out-of-class help and she is understanding. If she wasn't my prof. I don't think I would have done that well.

Dr. Erickson has been one of the best math teachers I've had here. The content is very difficult, but she does a great job at explaining and breaking down everything. The homework can take a while but is well worth it. The tests are never brain teasers, and she's all around very helpful. Very sweet teacher and I had a great time taking her class!

Although Calculus I is not an easy course, Dr. Erickson did an amazing job at explaining everything and helping each one of her students. Be prepared for TONS of homework, it's part of this 4 credit class and pretty much necessary to be prepared for the weekly quizzes. As long as you do ALL the homework YOURSELF you will get an A.

She's a very good professor and tbh gives you too much freedom regarding formula sheets on the test. Although she makes the class easy, it's very possible to get a good grade without really understanding the problems conceptionally.

Nice teacher, 1 quiz and 2 hw a week. Because there's so much content we don't really get a review day before the tests. You will need to study a lot at home. All hw is on MML. She drops your 2 lowest quiz grades. Very generous on partial credit. Doesn't do many extra credit opportunities. Study the hw and youll be fine.

She gives a lot of quiz but they like 5 questions max and its for like each unit. and he grading is complicated to explain here but its extremely easy to get used to it. she really gives you more than enough chances to pass.

Shes really nice, but her midterm and final review were kind of not like what was given on the test. Theres also a lot of homework so get used to it. I liked how she did the corrections for midterms it really helped.
