Her tests aren't over what she talks about in lectures.

Professor Fletcher is difficult to work with and unreasonable. Will not be taking a class from her in the future. Ended up dropping the course because she would not let me makeup the exam and assignments I missed for a university approved absence.

She was incredibly stubborn and did not respect her students when they came for help. She doesn't take into consideration other obligations that students have. If you don't go to lecture, youre in trouble. If you miss even one discussion, youre screwed. I missed one discussion, still turned in my paper online, and got a 0 because I wasn't there

She is incredibly condescending and self absorbed. I have never had another professor that thinks so highly of themselves and cares so little about the way she talks to students. The material isn't that hard but the tests and quizzes are impossible, multiple right answers. Assignments are busy work, time consuming and useless. Attendance mandatory.

The teacher is very self-centered. I was given a hard time when I needed to miss class due to a funeral. Tests are impossible and there is no point in studying because the tests are not over things learned in lecture. Tons of pointless busy work assignments that are worth barely any points. DON'T FORGET TO STAPLE YOUR PAPER OR YOU WILL LOSE POINTS.

The teacher doesn't know what she is talking about half the time. She is very self-centered and its a huge embarrassment that my college hired her. She has very unrealistic view of what college is like and assumes her class is the only class you're taking. She treats her students like they are children and is very disrespectful.

Fletcher is incredibly condescending. She generally treats her students like children and doesn't provide a good environment for learning. She posts nearly blank slides and expects you to copy literally everything she says and writes if you want to study. It seems like she's trying to make the class harder because the material is such a joke.

This has to be the most ridiculous class I have ever taken. To put it in perspective, I got an A in Foundations of Bio, but a B- in her class. I cannot wait for that to come up in med school interviews. Overall, the class content is easy as heck, but the tests are pretty much impossible. The tests are work 60% of your grade. Dont take her class.

Lecture and discussion will feel like a breeze but once you get to her exams, you feel like you went to the wrong class for 3 weeks. Exams filled with "gochya" questions. Feels like a 7th grade science class (in both material as well as tone) in lecture but a 4000 level class on tests. Avoid HHP2200 if you can.

Professor Fletcher will make you feel like a complete idiot if you ask a question. Students won't even ask questions anymore because she will always throw it back or just chuckle at you as if it's a dumb question (but they're usually great questions for the rest of us in class.) Exams are multiple choice even though most concepts need justification

Most absurd professor I've ever had. Doesn't want to teach the class but instead tricks the class on exam questions and makes her course more difficult that it needs to be. Has no empathy for students, and her assignments do not aid in the learning of material whatsoever. Avoid this class if you can.

P Fletcher has been the worst professor I have had at the University. She provides basic concepts that are seemingly easy, and then the exams completely obliterate you. There r multiple answers that can be right on exams, and questions over topics never discussed. She is no help & will laugh in your face if asked questions & is straight out awful

Class is ridiculously hard. The class is three credits and Amy here acts like she's teaching a 5 credit graduate course. Be ready to write a two-page paper every week (1 full page single spaced). Course info is common sense but tests are insane. Multiple correct answers for each multiple choice question. Don't take this unless you have too.

So basically, this is an easy class, if Dr Amy is not instructor. I studied 7 hours per day during the weekdays and still can't get a good grade. I am not a dumb person and the reason of my grade is her stupid test questions. Those questions are designed to trick you not to see if you understand concepts. A huge mistake to take this course as GE

Thought that it would be easier to work around my schedule taking this class online, but Amy Fletcher is completely unaccommodating and it's her way or it won't work. Assignments do not benefit your learning, but have strict deadlines. When you ask for clarification all she does is read you the assignment directions or notes from lectures.

This is the worst class I have ever taken, and the professor makes the class ridiculously hard and is not considerate at all. Her exams are nearly impossible. I did better in principles of chemistry two than this class if that says anything. I would never recommend taking any of her classes no matter who you are, unless you have to.

She is a very good presenter and her lectures are interesting. However, she doesn't post lecture notes online, and her exams are extraordinarily specific. There are a lot of trick questions, and if you misinterpret something, she will not give any points back. I like her as a person but not as a prof, wouldn't recommend if you can avoid it.

She makes her tests incredibly specific and doesn't provide lecture notes. Very interesting material, but she's extremely unaccommodating and makes it much harder than it needs to be.

Fletcher is an interesting lecturer, however she doesn't publish the slides so if you don't fully understand something that's challenging. My main issue is that she doesn't communicate her expectations fully to students- she docks points if you don't have exactly what she's looking for, but doesn't tell you what that is. NOT an easy A

I should have looked at these rates before taking her. Unnecessarily hard. This is coming from someone who has had As mainly all through college. This class is meant to make you succeed. The test will catch you off guard even if you study and go to supplemental. cant stand professors who set you up to basically fail class average is at a 60

Material is basic and should be easy based of lectures. But for some reason what you learn on the slides and study is never the same on the test. Professors have this tendency to forget that they may think its easy because they have a PHD or masters in it but its the students 1st time learning it stop making test way harder than need be.

Not considerate to students at all. Being online she made it clear to every student that if anyone has problems on the exams, she was not going to help. She verbally stated that anyone with internet problems or gets kicked off during the exam will not be able to retake it. Technology is not reliable, and it should not be put on the student.

I ended up dropping this class because I spoke with other Uiowa students who have taken the class and they told me not to take it. I studied extremely hard for the first exam and got such a low score because the questions are so specific. Dropping her class was the best thing I ever did because my roommate is taking it and is almost failing.

Not very considerate of your time as a student will handout assignments and quizzes the same week that you have an exam for her. Her course is an intro class or gen ed for most and she gives out material and tests like if her class is the only class you are taking I get weeding out students but her class is beyond that she is ridiculous

10/10 would not recommend, Amy never gives full marks for homework and the test questions are written in a way intended to trick students. Test questions do not follow vocabulary/definitions provided in the book or in lecture, and instead are new utterances that you are supposed to just know. You will spend 3-4 hours on assignments worth 10 points.

She isn't very good at communicating expectations with students, so it's hard to do well in her classes. I would recommend taking with another professor if possible.

Professor Fletchers class should be an honors class. I took it as a Gen Ed and it should be considered an Honors course. Her exams are unfairly hard. She knit picks specific facts as questions and the wording is more horrendous than her lectures. Would not take as a Gen Ed and would take only if completely necessary

Worst Professor Ive ever had. Self-Centered and arrogant. Her class content is not hard, but her exams were harder than my Chem class. Amy should be fired.

She will go out of her way to say Im not trying to trick you! And then proceeds to create the most ambiguous and obscure test questions Ive ever seen.

Tests are purposefully misleading with multiple right answers. Some exam material is not covered in lecture or discussion. Lots of busy work fills the week and is worth far too few points to justify the amount of work that goes into each assignment.

As mentioned by previous reviews this class has very easy material but the tests are extremely unfair. Most test questions are trick questions or things that she barely even touched on in lecture. Normally Id be okay with hard tests but professor makes them worth 70% of your grade which is quite high for a class like this. Do not take this class!

70% of your grade is exams while the remaining 30% is assignments so if you're a bad exam taker I recommend to pick another class. One question on the exam was straight from lecture and I responded correctly and during office hours she told me the "other option is actually better". Only took it because it's required, otherwise I definitely wouldnt.

Amy is a disgrace to uiowa and the hhp department. She is the most arrogant and self centered professor I have ever had. She makes 70% of your grade exams and she has the most obscure and ambiguous exam questions I have ever seen. She gives out assignments that take hours weekly that barely impact your grade and are unrelated Amy needs to be fired

She is awful. Do not even think about taking this course unless you want to be disappointed. Her tests are ridiculous, the homework time you put into an assignment per week is ridiculous and they don't even touch your grade. Your grade is exams and the exams are way too hard for a 2000s course. She is also very rude.

Amy fletcher is quite a character she is very charismatic but don't let it fool. She is the worst teacher I have ever had. I clinging on for dear life in the class. If I fail this class i will lock myself in a bod pod until I pass out.

Awful. She's gives assignment that take forever and absolutely do nothing for your grade. It's an absolute waste of time. Also five exams that are 70% of the class grade is just absurd. Would never take again.

She doesn't grade assignments before she gives out exams and because of those reasons I felt unprepared like I was set up for failure. The exams are hard fill in the blank no notes or calculator for equations also if you ask for help she refers to the TA. She also doesn't give out answers for the exams which makes it hard to grow in the class.

Part 1:Worst class at the University of Iowa. I have never hated a class so much before. I truly thought when taking this class it would be straight forward common sense (eat healthier, move your body, etc) but nope! This class I struggled throughout the semester. I attended her zoom office hours and she kept putting me down for not understanding.

Who let this woman teach? I never hated a professor so much. Tell all your friends to not take ANY of her classes. You will regret your decision. This professor will make you want to cry.

While Professor Fletcher is a nice lady, PA and health is a terrible course and it is needed for my major. She is the only professor who teaches it which is irritating. The assignments, readings, and lectures are a waste of time because they don't correspond to the exams which are 70% of the grade. Avoid this professor and class if you can.

"Busy-work" assignments that barely affect your grade, exams worth 70% of the grade that are downright impossible to do really well on because of oddly-specific questions she puts. No notes allowed, so you spend lots of time memorizing things that are extremely easy to mess up due to overlap and similar names (or multiple names for one thing).

Her lectures are boring and does not make it very clear what exactly is important to know for the test, which is a big problem for a class where the tests are worth 70%. Also, she will add questions to the tests that are unnecessarily exact and are aimed more at tripping you up.

Very personable and knowledgable person. That being said, 70% of the course grade are exams but she claims "the exams aren't the most important thing". Exams include one off topics from lecture. 2 page paper busy work assignments most weeks that barely relate to the exams. Course material is interesting but the course in general is a drag.

What should be a fun & interesting class as one of the final classes for your degree turns into the most unenjoyable and contradictory class. One of my many issues w/ her is that she gives essay-based questions that are very specific but doesn't explain the specific details she wants us to put for the exam. She also gives blank lecture notes.

The content in this class is not hard at all, it's actually rather easy to comprehend. The thing that makes this class hard is the 70% weighted exams where EVERY question is meant to trick you. There are multiple right answers for every question, but you must pick "the most right one", how does that test your understanding?

She is a horrible teacher overall. Her descriptions for everything are incredibly broad and she has 0 rubrics. She seriously expects you to read her mind for the directions on assignments.

Course material is straightforward and easy but she is just an awful lecturer. Tries to make the course more difficult than necessary and the homework is excessive in the criteria. She is god awful at answering questions, she will often just repeat herself and acts as if the question was magically answered.

Taking it in a winter semester as an already active student, this class not only extremely exaggerates the homework and will leave you deciding whether you need 3 credits or keep your job/other commitments, but it really seems to preach without practice as it encourages you to sit in front of your laptop for 8-10 hours a day. 30-40+hrs a week 4 hw.

Avoid this professor at all costs. Amy Fletcher is a nice lady however she makes class very difficult. The homework is very time consuming and for very little points. Oh man this class is a rough one. Professor Fletcher is very nice but her exams are so difficult. The exams are worth 70% of your grade. Unit 1 isn't too bad but as soon as you progress through the course, it gets very challenging with excessive homework assignments and juggling between tests and homework. Make sure to attend office hours and SI.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Exams have super nit picky questions over things such as a single random data chart (that was among dozens others) we looked at once for a homework assignment. Questions poorly worded. I am currently worried to fail my last gen credit and not graduate because of this class. Currently have a 71% and I am in the top 30% of students. DON'T TAKE.

She's nice but she expects way too much for an intro class. Exams are a pain and make you think but are oddly specific and are meant to throw you off. I'm barely passing with a C- and this class is very exam heavy with busy work most weeks that don't help your grade. Would NEVER take again.

I would not recommend this class at all. I would do anything to avoid it. I have never struggled with classes; this is the first B- I have ever received. Exams are 70% of your grade, and she puts two right answers in almost every question. She is a nice lady, but her class is impossible. I am in the very top percentile of the class with a B-.
