I reccommed her hightly. She explains everything. The assignments she gives corralates with the test questions. She doesn't pull anything over you on tests. She will help you outside of class. Very nice, she's great
WONDERFUL TEACHER!! =)
Excellent math teacher. I've never made 100's in math until I took her. She will work with you as long as you need if you are having trouble. Tests reflect the material on practice worksheets. I'd recommend her to anyone who is weak in math.
very good professor. come to class every day and you will have an A.
I'm horrible at math, and she makes it easy for me. I love Ms. Franklin! Her tests are on what she covers in class, and she's very helpful. I'd recommend her to anyone!
I've never made an A in Math until her
I took the math 101 internet course and she was more than willing to help in person, I would highly reccomend Ms. Franklin, If math is a little difficult take her, she will make it understandable.
EXCELLENT TEACHER!!! All that you need to do is pay attention at the classes and do the homework. The tests are the same as homework is. Make sure that u understand the sections in the book.
awesome i have never made an a in math until her shes good at teaching and knows what shes talking about i love math now
Very easy. I am a business major with a focus in accounting so I was somewhat bored with the class. If you are weak in math, take her. She will break it down until everyone understands it. Easy A
Very Easy I got an A
I cannot stress enough how great she is at explaining difficult problems in a very understanding way. From her knowledge to her personality, she is truly outstanding! Plus, she looks "Hot" too!
She really does break everything down for her students without acting like it's a nuisance. She teaches what you need to know on the test only. Because of her I can finally say I am done with math FOREVER. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!
she is very understanding, she breaks everything down. she will go over as much as you need. I love the way she teaches pick her for your 101 class you will love it.
she does go over the stuff but she is very strict
Ms. Franklin is awesome. Very helpful and she explains things very well. Plus, I've had a crush on her since day one. Cute and sweet, she's adorable and brilliant, as long as you dig her style. She still makes you figure some things out for yourself, while telling you exactly what you need to know
Didn't like her class at all. Im not a math person and she didn't help me with that at all. I was doing poorly before i dropped because she didn't explain good enough.
She failed me because I had too many excused absences....Other than that, she is an easy to understand teacher. I would recommend but don't get excused absences and expect to pass.
I waited until I was a junior to take math. Needless to say, I was very rusty. Ms. Franklin made it so clear and understandable. ONe of the best at JSU!
Ms. Franklin is very helpful. I hated math because I never understood it, but I am taking her class now, and I understand completely for the first time. I strongly recomend taking her for math!!!!!!
She gives great notes, and explains everything to you.For the first time since i was a Jr.in high school,I got a B in math!!
It is unbelievable how amazing she is. If you get a chance to take her, jump on it. I am used to having to pull a nc up, after midterm, but with her I have a B.
I wasn't to interested in math until I took her class. She is an excellent teacher that explains things very well. I would recommend her to everyone!!!!
I loved her class...I loved her.She made the class so easy-a monkey could had passed her class. And she is even kinda cute which makes class alot easier!
Very helpful. If you don't understand anything, she is willing to explain things for you. You have to do your homework everyday to understand and the tests aren't that hard if you do what you're supposed to do. Great teacher. Loved the class.
VERY HELPFUL. A VERY GOOD TEACHER.
Very helpful and nice. She explains things really well, even for those of us (like me) who hate and don't understand math. She made our class fun and I really learned a lot. Do the homework and pay attention in class and her tests are easy. Great teacher!
she wasnt what i thought i thought she would be a good teacher but all she does is write math terms on the board with you dont need
She is very fair, clear and helpful! You will get the grade you DESERVE and EARN! Besides teaching the formulas, she tries to instill the logic and reasoning process which can be applied outside of algebra.
MS.FRANKLIN IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR. SHE'S MY LIL HOMIE. SHE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING VERY WELL AND WILL STAND BY YOU ALL DAY UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND. SHE DOESN'T GIVE HOMEWORK GRADES SO YOU HAVE TO DO REALLY WELL ON HER TEST BEACAUSE THAT WILL BE YOUR GRADE.NO EXTRAS ARE GIVEN.
Very helpful teacher. Made class easy and I hate Math but I made a B!
Ms. Franklin is a fabulous math teacher. I gave her a 5 on easiness. I gave her the 5 because she makes math easy with how well she explains it, not because she is a slacker or anything. She takes pride in her job and obviously has a passion for teaching. If you have a choice, pick her. You'll be glad you did.
If you have an intrest in this subject she will love you. She's a good teacher. But her petite frame gives a false sense of niceness. Sure she will help you (if she likes you), she's got a good teaching style, and her mouth with those cute little facial expressions were really hot. But if you live "outside the box" avoid her! It pisses her off.
I hate math classes and usually have to work extra hard to understand. She was excellent at explaining material and working with you. I took her in the summer and made an A. I would definitely take her again!
She was very understandable. I really liked her class. Plus her tests are easy.
Great Teacher !
Ms. Franklin is very helpful with everything. Assignments are always discussed the next class meeting, and she is always open to questions.
Great instructor, she is willing to help anyone who will put forth an effort to learn.
Ms. Franklin knows her stuff. She will help you but you better pay close attention to what she is teaching because she moves really fast. She will help when you fall behind unless she thinks you are just goofing off. Go to class, take notes, do your homework, and study for the exams, and you should be fine.
I took this class online an it was okay but Ms. Franklin doesn't go problems there is no student/teacher interaction you have to figure out problems by yourself. She will not round your grade if make 69.5 she will give you and D. So all I have to say is take this course in class if you need help in math
A very good professor, easy to understand and very helpful if you just go to her with problems. A pretty good bit of work, but that's to be expected in a math class. On a completely unrelated note: she unbelievably beautiful. :)
I don't understand how everyone thinks she's helpful. I took this course online and was lucky to get an email back from her if I had a problem. We could use our notes on quizzes but if you used the answer she gave you, you missed the question. Now how does that make sense?
Dr. Franklin is an awesome teacher! She may be petite, but don't think she's a pushover. Very helpful. This was my first math class in over 17 yrs and she made it painless. Show up for class, listen and be respectful. Do not cut up in class.Gives great study guides and in class examples. Will answer emails promptly. I am taking her for MS 112 next.
I liked her class. I am ok with math and she made me feel better. her teaching style is fast but she will make sure everyone gets it before moving on. The test questions are alot similar to the book questions. You dont have to do homework cuz she wont grade it but u can use it if u need help. I didnt use the book. I shared with a friend in class.
She is a very good teacher and is willing to help.
I love Dr. Franklin! She is very clear and is always willing to help you if you do not understand something. She is very nice.
Extremely disappointed at Dr. Franklin's participation with the class. I felt like I was handed a textbook and told to learn it all without any help at all. She is also VERY slow to answer emails, which is frustrating when you are an online-only student living thousands of miles away! Would not take another class from her, ever.
I took MS 110 online. If you do the homework, webassign assignments, and do the test study guide you will do well in the course. Use the tools that webassign gives you because they are extremely helpful in teaching you how to do the problems. Webassign has videos of how to work out the problems and it also has practice problems to teach you.
Dr. Franklin is a great teacher. She explains things so you can understand them and is more than willing to help you with something if you don't understand it right away.
THIS WAS MY FIRST ONLINE CLASS AND IT WAS HORRIBLE ESPECAILLY WITH HER. SHE IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. TOO MANY QUESTIONS ON THE TEST. TOO MANY QUESTIONS ON THE STUDY GUIDE. I JUST DIDNT LIKE THE CLASS NOR HER ONLINE METHOD AT ALL. IM A NON MATH PERSON SO TAKE IT FROM ME DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL!!!
Absolutely the best teacher I've had at JSU. Very helpful and takes as much time as she can to explain things. Doesn't rush through material. Usually gives a study guide before test. Fabulous woman!
TWO WORDS: TAKE HER
Show up, participate and ask questions and you'll have no problems with her.
She is really clear and simple when she teachers, gives a study guide for tests, and never takes the whole class time. It's clear she wants her students to succeed.
Class not a good idea for online students with families or full time jobs. I asked for help and asked to see a test I felt I did well on to better understand my mistakes to prepare. I never heard back from the professor and was never able to see what mistakes I made. Course tests are developed by the professor as to where the assignments are online
She is a horrible teacher. She never responds to emails, does not let you see your tests, and adds problems to her tests unlike anything covered with homework. If you want a good teacher do no take her class.
If you have to take MS 112 online, take it from her. The exams are 35 questions long and she drops two that you missed and grades out of 33. She's helpful and communicates clearly. ALEKS sucks, but we have to do it here, so as long as you work through ALEKS and understand the material you'll get an A.
I learn well on my own, and I was comfortable knowing she was there if I needed her. Assignments are pretty lengthy, But I did every single one of them (NOT a math person). I feel like I have a better grasp on the stuff that I missed in high school. The added videos from Khan Academy saved the semester for me. Great idea Dr. Franklin!
Best math teacher I've ever had! Gave quizzes for grades when we asked her for it, which helped out my grade a lot. Homework was online and was just like the lectures. She's very helpful and attentive of what you need and will help out with ANY questions you may have! She also doesn't make you feel stupid either.
I actually took one of her classes online, she is very quick to remind you of anything you need to know, she makes sure you're keeping up with your homework, and encourages you not to get stressed out-which I found particularly helpful. I passed the class after having to take the placement test. Overall, excellent math teacher!
Let me just start out by saying that I am horrible at math; however, I finished this class with an A. Dr. Franklin is an amazing professor. She genuinely cares about her students and gives credit on test if she understands your mistake. We used the ALEKS program to do homework/ take test. Textbook was not needed. Overall great professor!
Dr. Franklin is one of the kindest professors at Jacksonville State. I highly recommend taking her for your mathematics courses. She doesn't use a textbook rather she solely uses Hawkes Learning (which is awesome) and her tests are usually online but you still attend class to take them. She works out as many problems needed until you understand (:
I would not recommend this class to anyone. Ms. Franklin is one of the most difficult teachers i have had during my time at JSU. She never responds to emails and will not work with you if you at all if you miss something. If you email for help she will just send notes from Hawkes that aren't very helpful. class is okay if you don't miss assignments
Franklin was a great teacher. Provided feedback and replied back to emails. I would take her for all of my math courses. I had her online (test must be taken in person) and we used Hawkes and it was incredible. You teach yourself, so if thats not your thing this class isn't for you, but she will help you if you email her.
Dr. Franklin is a GREAT professor. She is so down to earth, and really cares about her students. She is very easy to approach, and is more than happy to help any way she can!
This class is easy if you put the work in. The only way to learn the material is through the HW, which is on Hawkes. It is easy, but you have 3 assignments a week. It usually takes a few hours for all 3, but you only get 15 points total before each test. there are 3 tests, but you go into class for them. The tests are difficult, but Hawkes helps.
This is an online Statistics class. It is not hard by any means. Most of the class is on Hawkes Leaning. As for the tests, just make sure you study the review the professor gives you. You have to take the test in person but she is a very nice person. She makes sure that people can get more credit if a lot of people didn't do good on the test.
The coursework was mainly on Hawkes, so I felt like I did not receive help from this professor. She rarely responded to emails and when she did, she provided vague answers to questions. For each exam, less and less people showed up.
Amazing teacher, you can tell she legitimately cares about her students and is very understanding. Provides good feedback and is very responsive on emails. Overall great teacher.
Dr. Franklin is an amazing professor who is very personable. She wants to see her students succeed and tries to provide guidance through examples and web links. This was an online class in Summer I. If you have any other option, do not take it this way. It feels like you are dying because you cover an entire book's worth of material in 4 weeks.
Dr. Franklin is an amazing professor. She cares about her students and wants you to succeed! If you go to class, then you should be fine. You will have to study for the tests though, but they are not hard. She gives random extra credit points to you when a lot of people don't show up for class, and she always takes attendance.
I took her online 204 class and she was very hard to get in contact with via email. This is not a good quality to have when teaching an online course. Tests were very meaty and long but if you did the review it was basically the same questions just with different numbers. MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HAWKES ON TIME!!!!
I absolutely loved Dr. Franklin for MS112. Im no great math student by any means, but she made concepts very clear and easy to understand. She truly cares for her students and will try her best to help. She does take attendance, and she expects everyone to be in class. If you skip, you most likely wont do well. If you pay attention, she is great.
Took her during the COVID-19 pandemic. When we were in class it was incredibly easy and she explained statistic very well which made it very easy to understand. She handled switching to online classes fairly well. She canceled our final, we took one more test and she made it very easy for us to get help and left plenty of resources.
I wouldn't recommend her, at least if you will be taking online. She doesn't give lectures and you're expected to teach yourself the material. The class consists of 3 tests (our class ended up only having 2) , and a few homework assignments, which really don't help your grade much. Basically, if you do bad on one test, good luck.
Amy Franklin was one of the worst professors I have ever had at JSU. Taking an online course relies on a professor who is understanding and will work with you, which she is neither. I wish I had more words to tell you everything she does. If you are taking online math please DO NOT take her if you care about your GPA.
Thoroughly enjoyed her online dual enrollment basic statistics class, I would take it again.
We only had three tests so study and do the Hawkes assignments. Dr. Franklin is very sweet and a wonderful professor. Some of the assignments were hard but the tests were easy because of the assignments. She responds quick to emails and she lets you take the tests early if you ask her. Overall, I would recommend taking her.
She is one of the worse teachers I've ever taken. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone let alone ever take her again. She does not try, and she does not teach. Took her for online pre-cal, she doesn't teach anything she expects you to teach yourself.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Worst professor I have ever had. She is not helpful what so ever and was extremely rude when I asked questions
Wouldn't recommend it. She doesn't respond to emails, nor does she help with the material. She makes the class harder than it already is. She doesn't care about her students as much as she should, even if they have physical or mental issues. She has a smart tone when responding to emails as well.
She was a great teacher and I understood and remembered most of the content from high school. No lecture videos but must do WebAssign HW to pass (around 2-3 in one week). Only 3 Exams for 100 points the rest are graded from HW and Practice Exams. Overall a really good choice I just feel like it would have been much harder if I didnt know math.
I wish I would have really read the reviews on this professor before I added the class. I had to withdraw from the class. She does not go by the grading system in canvas, so don't even look at that. Her tests are 3 times harder than the HW and practice test. I really would not recommend this prof at all!
The exact opposite of a teacher, especially online. No remorse, or understanding in the difficulty of her class. Will NOT to help you with your failing areas, and does not care if you fail the class, she is of no help where it truly matters. If you want to get the most out of a math class, or just passing it, stay FAR away from this professor.
Not sure where the bad ratings are coming from, math is my worst subject and I took her hybrid class it was a fairly easy class. Class meetings were on teams and the only 3 exams were in person. A good bit of homework but most of it was on Chegg. Only faults in her class was that there wasn't many grades and she goes very fast. I recommend her.
DO NOT TAKE, almost everyone in my class failed every single test. Most people just dropped. No type of instruction online. I had to use a tutor to understand anything.
For starters she gives A LOT of homework (it's not easy either). This isn't that bad because its honestly necessary to understand the material. The problem is that 1, the tests can't even be compared to the already very difficult HW. Not only that, but these tests mean almost everything to your grade, making this class borderline impossible. RUN!
I took this class online because of this I had very limited communication with her. When I reached out through email her tone was very stern, offensive, and strict. I would not recommend taking her online. I have friends who say that she is the same way in person. Honor lock is mandatory during exams. No final.
If you just need to pass a math class for your degree, this isn't the worst professor. The content got progressively harder, and the online setting isn't the best way to learn said content. If you do the bare minimum plus some, you'll probably pass. She's pretty good with contact outside of class, but she's got a horrible attitude.
not sure where the bad ratings came from but i took her for ms110 and she made it super easy and explains everything throughly. if you are not that good at math like me i recommend her.
This online math class was difficult.
Professor Franklin's MS204 class is challenging, but with the right approach it can be manageable. Using unstuck study alongside the textbook and assignments can really help with study prep.
Drop her class immediately if you get her. The Hawkes work is easy but as for the exams she watches the videos on Honorlock and if you even so much as scratch your nose she flags it and will deduct more than half points.
