"Amy" is a great teacher. You will not regret taking her class. (She teaches at satellite locations). Fun, funny, down-to-earth, and uses great real-life examples to help you understand things. Teaches things that are actually practical for real life and does not go too deep into boring stuff.

You will learn more from her than any book. if you come to class you will get an A. she gives you the notes and you jsut talk about them in class and you learn so much about poeple and yourself

I HIGHLY recommend Amy. She was really fun. She knows a lot about psychology. The homework is minimal and easy. She is a very fair professor.

Amy is awesome. When you walk into her class she makes you feel like you're one of her friends. She gives you all the notes and review sheets for the midterm/final. She actually teaches you the material instead of just rambling on and on. It'd too bad she only teaches 101. If you take psych you need to take her class! Amy you rock!

Amy is a marvelous teacher. She gives you real situations to clarify book-knowledge and is more than willing to explain anything you have trouble with. This is the BEST teacher at JJC! I wish she taught more than just 101! Even if you hate Psyc she makes it fun and you'll learn things you can always use! It's NOT like that Calculus class you HAVE to take but will never use! You will learn a LOT from this teacher! Definately not dry!

I am returning to college after 10+ years, and I have yet to find a better teacher!! She is a child social worker, so lots of client stories and personal experiences that make everything come full circle (and make sense). I'd let my kid talk to her in a heartbeat! Study her notes. Amy is a wonderful Psyc teacher. She is a therapist fulltime. So she actually uses many examples from her previous and present experiences with people. Her examples help you to grasp the topic. I highly recommend her... I would take another class with her in a heartbeat!

good teacher, sometimes gets WAY off subject onto her own life, but class is easy. Gives you your notes and study guides. She has lots of real life experiences with things we learn, making it clear to the students.

Amy was a great teacher, it's pretty much a discussion based class-room setting. She does talk a lot about her life (as others have mentioned) but it makes the subject matter relatable. No curve-balls here. She tells you what she expects, if you do that, you'll do fine. I would definitely take her class again.

I really enjoyed this class and it was definately because Amy made it very interesting. She ensured that we understood by providing real life examples for us to relate to. I looked forward to going to her class every week. Very outgoing and is very well educated. If every teacher was like Amy, maybe students would learn something.

I swear she is the best teacher in the world. She GIVES you notes and goes over them in class by teaching you the material in a way that is relatable so you remember everything she goes over. She only gives you two tests but dont worry the tests are so easy because she gives you a study guide that is actually harder than the actual tests.

Show up and do the 5 easy assignments because they benefit you as a person. Two tests- midterm and final which are cake A-B-C-D and one short answer. Very open by sharing her life experience with the topics. Take her!

Amy is always so much fun! She's so funny & always tells great stories that go along with the lesson. She is really easy to relate to as well, whether you are a traditional or older student. Loved her! She was fantastic and put things into perspective. Never used the book. Only bad thing is she does bring alot of her personal life to class with her and sometimes she gets really off topic and it gets frustrating!

Amy is unlike any teacher I've ever had. I think she's awesome! She's funny and has a laid back approach to teaching. To be honest, I didn't learn a great deal in this class. However, I did enjoy the time spent in class. I did not purchase the book for Child Psychology. I got by the class just fine without it. Take a class with Amy, she's awesome!

She was really cool as a person. she would always talk to the class like we were actual people. her teaching style was different from what i am used to, she gave us a packet as notes and she would read off a few parts but then get side tract. she gave assignments to help us learn about ourselves and i feel thats the only thing i actually learned.

Amy is a great professor. She teaches the material well and she's fun to listen to. She sticks to the real world. Her midterm and final are exactly like the study guides and she only has a few easy written assignments (opinion based). She is worth taking and I would take her again in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and take her classes.

Guertin is definitely my favorite teacher of all time at JJC. Her lectures are comical but interesting and she shares a lot of stories about her personal life to keep things from getting stale. She tells you exactly what she expects and the syllabus has all the homework due dates + exam dates. Her psychology class was absolutely stress free.

Psych 101 was my favorite class because Amy made it so interesting and had so many stories to go along with the material. I took this as an 8 week class and even though it was accelerated she made it so simple. Te study guides tell you exactly what's on the tests. As long as you do work it is impossible to fail. I would take again!

Amy is a phenomenal professor! She's insanely knowledgeable on what she teaches, and keeps students interested with humor and personal stories that relate to whatever topic shes teaching. Amy is definitely one of my favorite professors. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and very real with her students. Her lectures make you not want to skip class. You do only have the midterm & final. The rest of the hw is online because of the virtual child.

This was my favorite class this semester. She only gives out a midterm and a final with two study guides that have all of the information you need to know on them. Very little hw, great lectures, easy to pay attention to. 10/10 would recommend.

I loved having Amy as my psych professor. Alrhough my class is 2 hours and 40 minutes long, it goes by super fast because each day is something different and exciting.

Very easy A! The powerpoints are so interesting and she has a way of speaking that makes you comfortable. If you do all the homework (really the papers are so not that difficult) you will definitely pass. She almost literally holds your hand, and walks you through the entire research paper.

Took her Saturday morning and missed two classes and ended up with an A+ just fill out the study guides with her notes and you will pass if you miss the deadline for the research paper you might as well drop. Super funny and gives out lecture notes and study guides. You need to fill out study guide but is super easy because all the answers are in the lecture notes. She tells stories and lets you out as soon as lecture is over. Really easy to pay attention and there aren't a lot of assignments but you need to keep track of those on Icampus cause she wont

Very excellent professor and a very easy course if you turn in your work. Not too much in-class activity, mostly lectures, but they are lectures worth listening to. One complaint is that she highly advises that you buy the $150 textbook but I have never had to use it, and you'll never use it in class.

Amy is such a great professor, you can tell she is passionate. She has the notes printed out for everyone in the beginning of class and explains everything very well throughout her lectures so showing up is important. There are 6 assignments, 1 midterm and then the final. If you show up and put in the work you will easily pass!

I loved having Professor Guertin for my psyc 210 class. She gives study guides that are very similar to the exams, and she made the class very interesting and enjoyable. There are online essay questions about every 2 weeks, they are not difficult, just time consuming. I would love to take another class with her.

Shes very understanding and chill. Made the transition from on campus to online this semester super easy and effortless. I think shes funny.

Professor Guertin definitely is in my top 3 professors in my 3 years of college. She will respond to your emails QUICK, there are two exams (midterm and final). Study guides are similar to the exams. I mean this class was amazing and I would definitely take it again. DON'T MISS OUT ON AN EASY A!

Great teacher, she is a therapist and working on her PHD so she is very thorough in her class. If I had questions she answered them in a timely manner and always offered more information. She can be a tough grader but is also understanding. I would recommend her class

Incredibly engaging and overall awesome professor. I always looked forward to her class. The weight of your grade is almost completely dependent on completing homework assignments so you likely won't pass if you usually rely on tests, but I found this method actually helped me learn the material much better than in classes reliant on tests.

I had Ms.Guertin for pshc 101 and pshc 215 she was seriously the best teacher anyone could ask for. She's super understanding and will help you with anything. I highly recommend taking any of her courses. She gives you the study guide like the first or second class, so that you have it till the midterm… so helpful. 10/10 recommend!

I had the opportunity to take her class over the summer, and I absolutely loved it. She is incredibly passionate about psychology, and that passion really shows in the way she teaches. I especially appreciated the study guides she provided and how she broke down the notes into simple, easy-to-follow sections.
