Tells her classes that they aren't cut out to be in health careers. Doesn't teach what she tests over. She will spend 5 minutes on something and 5 days on something else and test you on the 5 minute topic. Class average on tests 48%. Not a good experience.

Insulting when test scores were low. Not very approachable. Matial taught in class was not what you saw on the tests. Generally a nice person. Doesn't seem like she likes her job too much though.

She did pretty well for the first half of the semester. Towards the end there were more and more questions she couldn't answer. It's no wonder 105 is the highest class she teaches. I might suggest her for 101, but definitely not 105. No curve, Hard class.

The two most common phrases in her vocabulary are you're wrong & you can understand that. Not very clear, she does not understand that a failing class is a failing teacher. She is very moody, thinks that all of her students don't understand math & she is afraid of the cool demonstrations that the other teachers do. She is a good person though.

Sister Hanks is HARD and TRICKY. She will admit it to you. She does it on purpose she says. She does well in presenting the material although alot of the material is not on the tests. No curve. Expects you to be at a very high level. Can be very kind. loves the gospel. I thought that she was very hard. Not sure I would take her again. Good luck

Super hard. Lacks clarity in her teaching and not very willing to answer questions or help you out. I had major emergency surgery and was in the hospital for 3 days and tried to make up work but she was far from understanding. She seemed kind of angry at us; at life in general actually. Take someone else!

Didn't seem to care about the performance of her students. Hard to approach or ask questions. seemed very bothered when I asked questions during lecture-very unforgiving if you ask a question about something already covered. would highly recommend NOT taking a class from her.

This is a hard class but Sister Hanks works hard at her job and you can tell she really loves the subject. Easy to follow notes and lectures, although tests are difficult. I overall thought it was a fair class.

Claims her reason for being impossibly hard is because of her integrity. Class average: D. Many failed. One person got an A. She hasn't adjusted her curriculim in years. She went on vacation for a week & expected us to know what she would have taught. Nearly all of us failed that week's quiz. Its not worth hurting your GPA to take her.

Her 2 favorite answers to students questions were "we'll get to that later" and "that's in chem 106." She can't teach but she is very good at reading verbatim off power point slides. First day of class she told us that she wrote her tests intentionally confusing so that we'd have a hard time passing the test. She doesn't prepare for the final.

I thought that Sister Hanks was a great teacher. Her class was somewhat difficult, but chemistry is a difficult subject. I thought that Sister Hanks was very helpful. She was always willing to answer my questions and stop what she was doing to help me. I would definitly take another class from her.

She asked questions on the tests that she didn't go over in class. She wasn't helpful when you went to ask her questions and didn't understand the matterial like she should have to be teaching it.

Great Teacher. Works at fast pace, but hey it's college. Classes are going to be difficult. That's how you learn. She is always in her office ready to help. She also answers any questions you might have. I would take another class from her in a heart beat!

Hanks is a beast. Horrible teacher with a horrible high pitched voice that is painful to listen to. Her lectures are quick and she won't stop or backtrack if you have questions or don't understand. She hates males! Every male that asked her a question would get "Go back in your notes and look it up" Tests on uncovered material.

She was an awful teacher. She would barely explain anything during class and her tests were extremely hard to understand. They were nothing like the things we reviewed in class. She also had no interest in helping people if emergencies came up or anything.

Hanks was the best chemistry teacher here! The notes she made for us were extremely helpful and perfectly clear. She gives you homework to do for practice but not to turn in. She makes sure you understand things, and makes chemistry seem a lot easier than it is. I highly recommend Hanks, if she taught 106 i'd definitely take from her again.

Overall she a great teacher...printed off notes everyclass, labs are easy...no homework, but recommend doing the practice problems...test are hard but if you study you'll pass! the class average for tests dropped lower and lower as the semester went on, be prepared to put in A LOT of hours for this class...I'd take her again if she taught 106

Personally I was unable to learn from her teaching style...she doesn't really explain things very well and when you ask a question she seems irritated and just reiterates what she already said.If you need help with a problem she simply does it for you, doesn't explain how, and makes you feel as if your stupid. Her tests are challenging to understan

I thought she did a good job teaching the class. Printed off notes and explained things very well. She was there to help if you asked. Lots of hours put into practice problems and if you study hard you will pass! Its Chem people its HARD no matter who you take it from. Labs are easy to understand, my advice would be to get with a study group!

Sis Hanks is a great teacher. She gives you notes that you have to print off and as she lectures you fill in the blanks which I found very helpful. There is no hw, but STRONG recs on doing the q's from the text. Lots of quiz and a few test q's come from the text. Make sure to do well on labs and quizzes and your grade will be decent approx B.

forget what other people say about how "good" she is, its total BS. I met with her trying to get ways to help me get a better grade, she said study more, wasn't even interested in helping me in ANY way. Told the class to avoid any career or major that involves chem if you are doing poorly in class. worst teacher I've ever had

Face it. Chem is HARD, BUT Sister Hanks is AWESOME! She explains things so clearly and makes the subject easy to understand. Prints off notes to help you study. The course is very well organized. My favorite chem teacher yet! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I do not want to be rude, but if you want be taught well, do not take chemistry from Sis Hanks. Most of your time and effort will be devoted to this class, which is expected due to the subject, but plan to get a tutor. Concepts are not clearly explained. Most of the learning is self taught or not at all.

She is extremely loud and terrible to listen to. Take it from someone else for that reason alone. One funny thing about chem 105 is that when people introduce themselves 90% of the class says they're going to medical or dental school, would love to here their plans at the end of the semester lol.

Sis. Hanks class was tough. Her tests and quizzes were super hard. Although for the most part she explained things clearly. I recommend getting a tutor. She has printed out notes that help a lot and you have to dedicate a LOT of your time to studying. required to buy a $200 textbook that you only use for solving problems in the back.

Sis Hanks was very hard for me. I am an A student and ended up with a B in her class. She doesn't explain the material very well and I think she hates men. She is very short with the guys and doesn't seem to want to help them. The notes she has is kind of nice though if she would test directly from them.

I really enjoyed Sister Hanks. Chemistry in general is a hard subject and you have to be dedicated to work hard but she does a good job presenting the material. She also does a lot of experiments and "Fun Monday's" to try to make class fun. She's great!

Sis Hanks was not very helpful to me. She made me feel dumb when I asked questions in her class to understand the material better. Her tests are way hard. She doesn't do anything about the tests even if everyone bombs it. The grade you get is the grade you get. No exceptions.

Class material was easy, I feel like i learned more from reading the textbook than I did from the teacher. Its probably just me but i just found her very annoying. She seems annoyed if people ask questions.

She was a lot more helpful than the pot-head chem. teacher I had in high school. Everything that I had already taught myself became so much more clearer, but it was still intimidating to ask her questions- especially during labs. It's just a hard subject in general, but she didn't help at all to ease up on the test questions. Nice person, ok teache

This was the first chemistry class I had ever taken. I got an A-. Her notes are clear and concise. She makes the class interesting. If you want to do well do all of the homework, and make sure you understand it. She's willing to answer ?'s outside of class. You only use the textbook for homework, don't purchase it, check it out from the library.

Sister Hanks definitely does NOT fit the mold of the other upstanding BYU-Idaho professors. She refused to answer some of my questions stating "I don't have time to help you right now." and treated me like an idiot when she did help me! She favors the women. So if your a women you'll do well, if your male FORGET ABOUT IT! FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!

LOVED Sister Hanks! I had never taken chemistry before but she tailors towards beginners and is very good about explaining the basics and making sure you understand. Do all of the homework and study the notes she provides and you'll be fine. She was always very willing to help me. Her excitement for chemistry made it easier for me to be interested.

I knew nothing about chem before her class and she made me get it. She was clear and was there to help when ever. She took 1 or 2 days out of class before the test to review everything that we covered for the test. If you try and go to her for help then you will do well in her class. If you do not try then you might not want to take chem.

Sis hanks is awesome. really goes out of her way to make sure you got it down. She has her office open alot, she takes the class period before tests as study sessions. Her tests arent easy and dont expect to go in thinking your getting an A for nothing but she has fill in the blank notes so you cant get better than that. i liked her. take the class

Sis. Hanks is an amazing teacher! I hated chemistry in high school and when i got to her class she made it so much easier to understand. She is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS willing to help you! She teaches chemistry really EASILY and teaches it to you like you havent learned chemistry, she dumbs it down for everyone. Her test are easy too!I loved her class

This teacher is a horrible teacher. She does not listen to the students or care what they get in the class. This is a 101 class and it is harder and more time consuming than all my 300 classes. I use to love chemistry but after this class I hate it. She relys on Aleks a computer program to teache rather than teaching herself. Don't take her

I really liked Sister Hanks. She is helpful and willing to talk to you. But don't argue with her- because her way is always the right way. The class over all is super hard and takes hours each day for homework- be prepared for Aleks. I would suggest having some background knowledge of chemistry before taking this class.

Sister Hanks' chem 101 class uses Aleks (an online computer workbook), and working in Aleks sucks. It just takes a long time, easily 4 hours a week. Her class time is good, she provides fill in the blank lecture notes, and you can ask plenty of questions. Sometimes I feel like she treats her students like little kids. But overall a good class.

Sister Hanks is a great teacher! She explains everything in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Chemistry is a difficult subject, but she is always willing to answer questions. The notes are fill in the blank, so if you study them, you should do well on tests. She is a sweet heart. Plan to work hard. You will get the grade you earn.

You do not use a book, you use her notes so if you have any question you have to find it from another sorce. 90% of the class in on a online chemistry class. It would have been better to take an online class. Not recommended

This class was horrible. Every test and quiz where impossible to do well on. The average on every test was always around a 60%. I went to a tutor about twice a week for the entire semester and barely made a C in the class. Everything we did in that class was online so you're probably better off taking an online class. Overall, it was very difficult

I am terrible at math and had no knowledge of chemistry but sister Hanks made it possible to pass. She is intimidating but is very willing to answer or "dumb down" material for her students. It's a hard class and you will spend HOURS on the homework!!!

Sis. Hanks is AMAZING! She really cares about her students and will do everything she can to help you succeed. Chemistry is hard, and she recognizes that many people struggle, so she explains everything really well. If you want to do well, ask questions, pay attention, and study. You get the grade you work for!

Sister Hanks was an awesome Chemistry teacher! Plan to spend A LOT of time working on this class (5-10 hours per week). If you put the work in, you will get the grade you want. She is always willing to go out of her way to help you. Her tests are hard, so study hard. The online portion of the class is miserable (Aleks), But I enjoyed this class.

-No text book, bur there is a write-on notebook. -Fun teacher willing to help if you can find the time to meet, but very hard tester. -FYI, don't miss any of the mid-term days or mole days, you will hate life if you do. All homework is all online, and no late assignments received. -She uses i-clickers to take role.

Absolute Horrible Teacher. Relies on a computer program to teach. Makes you do fill in the blank notes, doesn't bother to keep a complete copy of notes for those who miss days. I did not feel that she cared about students AT ALL. I used to love Chemistry and got an A in high school. She destroyed my love for chemistry.

She is such a super strict about things that don't really matter. All her assignments are ALL on Aleks which is an online thing you have to do and I spent about 10-15 hrs a week on that not including everything else I had to do in the class.

Sis Hanks is a great teacher. Chemistry is tough as it is, but I felt like she did a great job preparing students for tests and she always made herself available. She is very passionate about chemistry and really wanted her students to understand concepts. No book required, HW is all online and saved my life in understanding the material.

Sis Hanks is awesome!! She's super enthusiastic about the topic and she definitely knows what she's talking about. If you show up to class, take good notes, do the homework, and ask questions, you're pretty much guaranteed at least a B in the class. But you have to do your work & not expect an easy A. But she's great & I highly recommend her! :)

Sister Hanks was one of my favorite teachers. She is tough on you, but she is there for anyone that has questions and you can tell she wants you to succeed. Come to class, ask questions, and do your homework on time and she makes chemistry easy to understand because she is so passionate about it.

This is my first time taking a chem class ever and enjoyed it. Do the online homework given which helps so much and you get 100% on it if you complete it all. Always fill out what is basically a study guide for your tests in class that she gives you, and this study guide helps you know whats coming up next in class. Do that and tests are easy.

Sister Hanks is as good as you can get for Chem 105! The class itself is not easy, but she will help you every step of the way, if you ask for it. Willing to repeat herself often until everyone in the class gets it. She already made her own notes and you buy it and its fill in the blank during lectures. Kind of dorky, but a great teacher!

The class goes by slow. Sister Hanks will help you after class because there is a lot of extra time after class. She can come off as aloof when talking to her privately, but the class is easy as long as you go to class, work on aleks, and look over your notes every night.

Sister Hanks is one of my favorite teachers ever. She is a huge reason why I study chemistry. She is tough but fair. She loves what she does and she is great at explaining things. If you take her class it would be wise to get the lecture notes, you will thank me later.

Do not take any classes with this teacher! She is way too strict on things that don't matter. For example, she graded me a 25% on a lab because it was 1 day late. I was told the day before by lab partner that she would accept lab turn-in the day after. He was absolutely sure about it. However she doesn't CARE about your situation or anyone.

Most particular teacher in the chem department. Hard grader, and wont move on grading. Annoying high pitched, loud projecting lectures. DO NOT TAKE. She skips somebody Labs (the fun ones; only one in dept.) just because she wants. Find another professor.

This class is hard. It's meant to be. She is really good at explaining things and helping you out. SHE GIVES YOU A NOTE OUTLINE THAT IS KILLER HELPFUL AS NOTES AND FOR TESTS! She's a very strict grader, doesn't budge, and offers almost no extra credit. It's hard, but I've learned tons. Take her class. It'll be hard, but it's the right one for you.

Sister Hanks has a bad rep, IM NOT SURE WHY!? She is super caring and just wants us to get As! She may not be the absolute easiest teacher but she also helps you learn a ton! She also explains things clearly and simply(which you need for chemistry). I would take her again.

Sister Hanks explains things in a way I could understand. She has her own textbook/notes book, which is basically fill-in-the-blank. It makes keeping track of everything really easy. She also uses ALEKS, but is helpful in explaining how it works. She has an obvious love for chemistry, which makes it fun to listen to her.

She's a good professor to take chem101 from. She is willing to help and answer your questions. The only thing I hated was the homework. You have to do it in ALEKS which is so annoying, but it makes sure that you know the material. Overall, it's a slightly difficult class, but I would recommend it from Sister Hanks.

Sister Hanks knows chemistry, there is no doubt about that. I hated the website she uses for homework it was extremely tedious and time consuming. We are expected to take at least 2 hours on the exams which are difficult. If you have a passion for chemistry she will be a great fit for you, if you don't really care for chemistry it will be torture.

Sister Hanks helps out her students whenever they need it. She goes over the subject very well. You are expected to do the work. It can be tedious, but it does help with the exams. She provides the notes for you, which is awesome, and there are practice problems that help you understand it better. She is a wonderful teacher!

Sister Hanks is a wonderful teacher. I came into her class know nothing about Chemistry and being pretty scared about the subject as a whole. The way Sister Hanks clearly taught the material really helped me develop a firm grasp on chemistry. Just listen in class and do the homework and you will do well.

Mrs. Hanks is so rude and doesn't teach. She sets her students up to fail. If you are 1 minute late to lab she locks you out and you don't get credit for the quiz or lab even if you stay and do the whole thing. The quizzes are impossible to pass but they would be easy if she would just teach us. Do not take. I wish I'd taken the early morning lab .

I loved Hanks. Attend every lecture. you will not understand homework unless you do. Put time and effort into your Aleks assignments. You will see the same format of questions on the tests! Know Aleks inside and out, AND do every single practice problem in the notes. Do that and you'll get an A! I did and I struggle with chemistry. She does care!

I was terrified of chemistry but Sister Hanks makes it so much easier. I am not a math or science person. Sister Hanks is easy to understand and work with. She is always willing to help. You can email her anytime and she does not care how many questions you go to her with. She is AMAZING. She doesn't talk down to you either.

I'll be blunt: She is not for everyone. Her tests are hard, she is kind of dry, and Chem 105 is just not a fun class. No test curves. Literally just goes through a book she made page by page every day. However, I appreciated when she was up-front saying that we had to memorize certain things. It helps. Study ALEKS like crazy if you take this class.

Sis. Hanks really wants her students to succeed and is available to help. She can come off a bit gruff sometimes, but she has good intentions. Her teaching is clear and to the point. She tries to also include things in her lectures that make Chemistry fun. She is a great choice for this class. Just do the ALEKS assignments and you will do well.

Sister Hanks is a great teacher, she is the "author" of the required material for CHEM 101 so she knows exactly what to teach you for the tests. You will need to attend class, as there is participation points. The homework is long however. There will also be a unit where you will have to memorize like crazy FYI.

Sister Hanks is a great teacher and you really learn a lot in her class. One thing that I didn't love about the course is how hard the tests are. But Sister Hanks is always willing to help and is available to reach at many different outlets.

She makes tests way harder than they should be and she has a lot of tricky questions. It kind of seems like she wants students to fail. You get the material for class through powerpoints which she does NOT upload. You miss class and you basically have no way to make up for it because there is no textbook other than the lecture notes which you buy.

Great teacher! Chemistry is challenging, but Sister Hanks explains things very well and I felt like I always had the resources to succeed. I liked her "fun Fridays" (Especially when she blows stuff up). This is NOT a "study a few hours before the test and you'll do fine" kind of class. You need to make consistent efforts every day.

She does not give any curve on any test despite grades being dismal. In class, you fill in the blanks of a workbook with graded attendance. Her voice will randomly get extra loud and shrill which honestly hurts my ears. She makes you feel stupid, unappreciated, and hopeless as well as acting like she is always right in the worst possible way.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for Sister Hanks. Chemistry courses are difficult but I was glad that I took it from her. Though she may be a little quirky, I've found a lot of her advice helpful on tests and she is very caring for her students and wants them to succeed. The only way not to succeed in this class is to not try.

Sister Hanks is awesome! She cares about her students' success and is very accessible outside of class to help you, but does not offer extra credit or raise your grade. The grade you get depends on the effort you put in. If you go to every class, take ALEKS seriously, and do all the example problems in the notes she gives you you'll do fine.

Sis Hanks is the best professor I have had thus far(i'm a junior). She's super clear w/what u need to memorize. She uses the program ALEKS for homework. Attendance is required. Her textbook is rly helpful. She wants u to pass the class and will work w/u, and rly cares about her students(u can reach out to her for help w/things other than chemistry)

She is a good professor for chemistry if you really need to/want to take it. Her Chem 101 course is rigorous and requires you to devote much time outside of class to learn the concepts so that you perform well on the exams. She is willing to meet with you during office hours to give you study tips and talk about your exam results.

Professor Hanks gives unit notes that are very helpful when the tests come around. Homework was given and most of the content on tests were from homework and the unit notes. She is very caring and is always willing to help you improve your grade. She and her TA have lot of office hours to answer questions. They even go over the test with you.

No curves on tests and you really have to study. I took her class through zoom and I wouldn't recommend this course fully online. The only assignments we had were ALEKS (free 100 if completed them), attendance(5 pts a piece, free 100), and tests. The tests get you. As long as you study and fill out the guides during lectures, you'll be fine.

Sis. Hanks is great! I honestly have never seen a more organized teacher. Her curriculum is very fine tuned and thorough. People may think I'm crazy, but I really like ALEKS. It is a great way to practice the material. She is an awesome teacher and she will always answer questions no matter how silly. Just pay attention and don't miss a class:)

She just doesn't know how to teach. She just lectures the whole time while you fill in blanks. Her tests make up about 65% of your grade and she is not willing to budge on any grades. Her classes average 65/100 to 80/100 on her tests. Not exactly stellar grades. I was lucky because I had taken chem in high school. Again, poor teacher.

I hated this class and I would have with any professor, but I found sister hanks teaching hard to follow and overcomplicated. I really only passed this class because I tutored so much. Aside from all of that, its passable and i'm bad at chemistry. However, her homework program SUCKS. I hated it SO much and it contradicted the way she taught things.

Sister Hanks is great! If you follow her lessons, she explains things thoroughly. When there is something you don't understand, she will take the extra time to help you get it down. Any chemistry class would be difficult, but I think I was successful because of her teaching. Put in the work to get good results!

DONT DO IT. I never missed a single class, I attended tutoring three times a week, and when I finished the class with a 79.97, she REFUSED to round up. I get being a fair grader, but she didnt cover all the material that was on the final and expressly said that. Do yourself a favor and find a teacher who cares about your success. Plus, ALEKS SUCKS

I like the way that she related chemistry in ways that applied to the real world. She is also VERY clear about what is expected. She warns you of things that are tough, and tells you what needs to be memorized. Class moves fast through material, but it's do-able.

She is really nice as a person, but the class is terrible. There is a whole lot of stuff to memorize so be good at it and be ready to spend a lot of time on it. Get a tutor, I got one and I still failed but I felt better about it. Tests are worth 65% of your overall grade so be ready for that. The program used for homework makes you feel stupid.

I was super worried about chemistry since it is a hard class but she made it as easy as you can make it. She started off really basic with rounding and basic chemistry terms which made me feel really smart and I could actually do things. The homework is based off of exactly what you do in class so just make sure you follow along with her notes.

The class if very well organized and you are prepared for every test, however it can be a little chaotic as the homework doesn't always match the test questions which can get frustrating. She is super willing to work with you outside of class and help you out with the homework and review tests. There are quite a few things to memorize.

She taught things thoroughly and makes sure that you understand everything! If you aren't understanding anything, ask and she will go through and reteach it to how you would get it. Her tests are a mix of hard and easy. DO NOT USE ALEKS to study for exams!! Use the Unit practice Q's from class. That's where she gets her questions from.

Nope. Just nope. ALEKS is the worst program ever, and no other chem teacher uses it so IDK why she does, esp because it doesn't align with what she teaches you. It felt overcomplicated and like no matter how much time I spent trying to understand her class, it wasn't enough, even after countless tutoring sessions. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere

Sister Hanks has been one of my favorite professors. She is very clear in CHEM101 about what you need to memorize, answers questions well, and is always willing to take time to help students. She has got teaching down to a science and is fun to take class with because you can tell she loves chemistry and teaching others about it. 10/10!

Sister Hanks is very hard to work with and communicate with. There is no room for mercy or second chances. There is a ton of homework and the tests are extremely hard. A lot of memorization is required and will be on the test. Overall I would absolutely not take this course again.

I love chemistry, but she made it very hard to learn from. We dont have a textbook, but a workbook thats fill in the blank that we have to fill in during class. Attendance is mandatory, however, if you miss class there is a recording to watch and a quiz for the recording so you still get credit for being in class.

Sis Hanks is a great teacher, especially if you are nervous about taking a chem class. Homework is light if you keep up with it and exams are exactly like the homework, so you won't be thrown any surprises. Everything she teaches you is preparing you for the final so if you go to class and get your homework done, you don't need to worry.

I work hard but it felt like my efforts were good enough to match my grades in other classes that are supposed to be MORE difficult than this one. Tests are 65% of your grade so even if you get a considerable score it drops your overall grade more than you'd expect. Homework is frustrating because sometimes ALEKs has topics we didn't cover in class

She isn't very lenient when it comes to grades. She puts many trick questions and just confusing questions in general on the exams. Lecture heavy and depends on aleks for homework, which also causes issues for exams due to the fact aleks either does things differently from how she teaches it and how it is on the exam or we just don't practice it.

She has no idea what is going on. She constantly messed up the notes in class and it seemed like she was making it up as she went along. You are COMPLETELY on your own. There's a lot to memorize and understand. What you do in class barely correlates with the tests. She won't help and doesn't care. Just try and get a C and be done with the class.

Hanks is about as dense as a rock. She can't understand a full sentence and will stop listening after the first 3 words directed at her, both in person and in writing. Don't take her class, you'll be saving yourself a headache.

Listen, I have been in college for a long time and taken lots of courses from many professors and she is by far the worst professor I have ever had. You are 100% on your own in this class. This is my 7th semester and I have never failed a class till I got to sister hanks. She doesn't care about you. They purposely make the tests and quizzes impossible to study for. No one tells you what to study for and there's a million different things that could be on the tests. The class is too hard.

If Sister Hanks is rated 4 or 5 on the difficulty scale it is BECAUSE CHEM CAN BE TOUGH not her teaching. Sister Hanks goes out of her way to make the foreign language of chemistry easy to understand for anyone. She wrote up an entire notebook for students. She lets class out 5 minutes early so those struggling can ask questions. ect.

Very nice but tests are a lot harder than the material. We fell behind all other professors this semester and were rushing to catch up. Office hours are pretty limited and she is very strict with deadlines. Nice lady but not a great teacher. Uses the program ALEKS for all homework assignments and for all tests except the final.

Sister Hanks is a great teacher. I see negative comments here, but I believe this is because students didn't do the necessary work that was expected of them and they are mad that she didn't do their homework for them. If you do homework, attend class, and ask questions, you won't do badly in class. I love Sister Hanks. She understands her students.

Here is an overview of how Sister Hanks teaches. Her textbook is her lecture notes which she reads to the class for each class. Homework is all online based through aleks. Overall the course feels like an online course, with in-person "videos"(classes) throughout the week. The answer to most questions is "we'll cover that later."

I had sister hanks, and while i wasnt the best student (i slept in a lot) i looked forward to her classes. she is a very kind person and very good at teaching intro to chem. i would recommend a study buddy, but all material is covered in the class, and she has office hours to help struggling students or to answer questions

Professor Hanks is a great teacher who goes out of her way to help students understand the material. While the course can be challenging, she provides lots of support, including office hours and supplementary resources like unstuck ai to help with study prep. As long as you put in the work, you can succeed in this class.

She is an absolutely amazing teacher!!! I struggled with chemistry and worked with Sister Hanks to get better in the first half, she's very open and willing to help everyone- I just gave up halfway through, that's my bad guys. I would have a higher grade if I hadn't.

Sister Hanks is amazing! I have a hard time learning, but I understood the concepts from the way she taught! Everyone has a workbook, and we fill in the blanks with her lectures. Sister Hanks is a nice enough person. But does not teach in her lectures. I basically had to teach myself and when I asked her how I could improve she said use AI. She's a great person but not a good teacher at all. Don't recommend taking her.

Sister Hanks can be seen as tough because she doesn't believe in changing your grade from an 89.9 to a 90, but if you do the work and show up to class, you'll be fine. The tests are not very difficult and she has printed out notes that you follow along with and fill in the blanks. If you are a good student and do your work, you will be successful.

She is a good professor. She uses her own printed out notes that you fill in the blank which I think is very helpful. The class is set up in a way to succeed. You get unlimited attempts on basic tests and if you get a 90+, you get bumped up to 100. You definitely have to study and put work in, but it is doable. Some of the homework can get annoying
