Extremely rude teacher and very condescending towards classmates. There was a guy who was having a hard time with the material throughout the semester, but he showed up to class every day, front row and you can't blame a person for trying. Yet, she treats the guy like an idiot. Overall, avoid this teacher.

I had Mrs. Harris last semester for algebra and she was a wonderful and kind teacher. She spent lots of extra time with me outside of class.

I love this professor. She is fair and will give it to you straight, not rude but blunt. She has spent lots of time outside class helping me and does care about her students success. The course isn't easy and I am not good at math but she is clear in her method of teaching and I have enjoyed the class. I would recommend taking her.

Very straightforward. Knows what she is talking about but often seems annoyed when students ask too many questions. She tries to help as much as she can but for the math hopeless (like myself) it can get a bit tricky at times. Lovely lady, but wouldn't recommend if math isn't your thing.

She is a fantastic teacher! She is willing to help everybody and would work with someone as much as she can, even via email. Math is definitely not my best subject and she made it really easy to understand. She is such a nice lady and I definitely consider her one of my best teachers so far.

My first math class in 5 years. Reviews before each test. Homework required. Tests reasonable. Will NOT spoon feed you. Teaches you to think. Great lecturer. Will take her for any class.

As soon as she realizes someone needs help, she comes right away and even stays after to help students. She works at a reasonable pace and will slow down if you ask her to. She tries not to move on until everyone is on the same page and if does, she sends an e-mail out with helpful information as soon as possible. Sometimes she tricks us into doing our homework by disguising them as example questions to work on in class.

Homework is the key to passing her class! All tests are based on homework & all quizzes are based on homework. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask, she is very helpful. Reviews before every test. She also gets really excited when her students understand what she is teaching, I would highly recommend her!

i wish she would've utilized a different way of teaching, she mainly just lectured about how to do it. she doesn't really tell you why she does something and then just switches the way she does a problem because she sees an easier way of doing it.

When she conveys information, she doesn't do it thoroughly. She looks off of her notes that she's taken from previous classes and will mess up. Every time I asked her a question I would receive some vague response, basically having me look it up. I got a B, if I would've had .5 more points I would've gotten an A but she doesn't cooperate.

I took her for Finite Math and Calc1; Finite was so easy that I'd do hw during the lecture, but I began to dread Calc. I'm good at math, but since calc is actually difficult, I needed a professor who didn't speed through the material and monotonously write down notes. But get good grades on hw, fail tests, and you'll still pass.

Great professor! This was my second time taking calc 2 so this class was quite simple. If you have never seen calc 2 before I would avoid taking it as a summer 6 week session, which is what she taught. Overall she is very helpful and knew the subject. I would take her for every math class if I could! If you work hard you can pass no problem.

If you cannot memorize formulas including and up to an entire semesters worth of formulas you won't be successful here. The lectures are clear and concise. However, when memorization gets in the way of learning it is a limit of success. She is a fairly friendly individual but I feel there are better options.

Took her for pre-cal, VERY hard! She makes you work for the grade. One positive is that she prepares you for future math classes. Two lowest homeworks are dropped & the final replaces your lowest test grade. Makes you memorize all formulas & no calculators allowed on tests. She's a great person but is really tough on her students. It's passable.

Mrs. Harris is the best math teacher I've ever had! Precal is hard but doable. She meets us is the homework work during her office hours and emails us when we need help. I'm taking her for every math class I can.

I liked her as a person. She was really nice. But it seemed like she was just showing how she would solve a problem her way instead of showing us how to solve any problem that looked like that.

She's a good teacher but goes pretty fast , so if you can't keep up you can get lost and behind fairly easily

This is not a class you want to take for an easy A. She will make you work for it, but she will help you get it. Her lectures are clear, and she stops and explains it again if someone did not understand or is confused. Excellent class.

Definitely knows what she's talking about, but she is very fast-paced, she talks while she writes. Don't take her class if you're not a fast learner. There is lots of homework, and attendance is crucial. Does not give extra credit. Work hard and you'll pass.

I took her for pre-cal and calculus, she definitely knows what she's talking about. She grades the homework as if they were tests, so it's a major part of your grade. Calculators can be used on only part of the test that contains 1 or 2 questions. You have to work really hard to get a good grade.

Professor Harris is incredibly amazing! Calculus is not an easy subject but she will do her best for you to learn it. Her test are hard but her lectures are easy to follow and she will answer any questions you have as clear as possible. Mrs. Harris is a very nice woman. However, when it comes to teaching she is VERY HARD. No calculators at all for any test, but two questions. She is very fast paced, and always looks at her notes as she teaches. She does not care if a student needs a point from a B to an A or a C to a B. I don't recommend. Look for better professors.

I took professor Harris over a summer semester. Notes are handwritten or guided notes are given. She never puts her notes online, so if you miss class you have to get them from someone else. She answers all questions. Quizzes are homework problems, making homework necessary. She drops two lowest quiz grades, and final replaces lowest test grade.

Professor Harris is an amazing teacher and person! She has made math fun for me with her enthusiasm for the material and her concern for me. Wish I could take her for every math class. She's great about answering questions via email. Her tests are o.k. so long as you study your homework. I took her for 2412 too.

Hardest math teacher i've taken in my life. She's super uptight about everything and even the smallest things can tick her off. Tons of homework which are mandatory and count a lot towards your grade. No calculators on 3/4 parts of the tests. Lives and breaths math. Moves really fast as well. Find another math teacher if you can.

Great instructor, by far my favorite math professor. No quizzes, just exams and homework, it is important that you do every single homework assignment since what you see on homework you will see on tests, it is difficult to study for math but she can help you. She emails you back quick if any questions arise. TAKE HER AND USE ALL SHE GIVES YOU!

One of the hardest classes. She doesnt like using mathlab. Gives vague responses and it's really up to you to understand the material.

This class is hard because its Trig, unless you're a genius you'll have to work your butt off. I studied for hours every day, redid HW and got a 90. She wants to help, but doesn't explain well. DO THE HOMEWORK! Study for the tests & you should be fine, but its gonna take a LOT of work to pass. She draws from homework and tests, so no surprises.

I think this a pretty demanding class that requires you to study. She does lecture really good tho, but you have to be there because she doesn't upload notes. 4 tests, each tests consists of problems from homework or lecture. The final replaces your lowest test grade, 2 homeworks dropped. The class is really easy if you do the work.

Mrs. Harris worked with me so much outside of class and was so encouraging. Math has always been hard for me but I did well because we went over so many examples and she helps with emails. Nicest teacher ever!

She teaches well, but I feel like she holds you to a high standard of understanding. I usually don't have trouble asking additional questions, but I felt embarrassed to do so in her class. She moves along quickly. There's a quiz almost everyday. She provides plenty of resources out of class, that REALLY HELPS. If you learn quickly, she's good.

She's a nice teacher but gives out hard tests. Did quizzes at first until she changed it to us turning in our homework because nobody was passing the quizzes. She has lots of resources online. Tests are extremely hard. Final does not have past questions from other tests. She'll change things up so we can build "problem solving skills". 4exam 1final

Prof. Harris is a great professor. She really wants you to learn the material but you need to do your part by studying and doing the homework. Don't take this class if you're not willing to put in the time to learn the material. She's very accessible outside of class. Tests are consice and comes from the homework. Learn the unit circle!

Mrs. Harris was the best math teacher I've ever had!! Lectures were super clear and much like the homework. Volunteers office hours in hotspot to help us. Tests not hard, not super easy. Very nice!

I've taken Mrs. Harris for everything since trig. She is the nicest person and really wants all of her students to pass. She's been great to me. I will miss her when I transfer.

She teaches good to those who are good at math but wont dumb it down for those who arent. She will make you feel stupid when asking questions. Tests are similiar to her quizzes and hw. Quiz heavy. Miss a class and you wont pass for sure unless youre einstein.

Chose her taking the chance having 3 stars last semester and should've listened to the reviews. Helpful outside of class or through email but not through in-class lecture. The textbook was my hero and learned everything through that. Failed because of her tough grading and now retaking knowing everything and helping others.

Professor Harris was a great teacher and everyone has their own preferences. The thing is you have to do your part and study really hard to go through the semester. She gives lots of homework and gives in-class notes. I'd suggest, after the first class that you should start being serious about learning the material already for homework.

11 homework's 20% of grade, 3 tests 60%, and final exam 20%. I took her in the summer and have no regrets. She would give us time to work on our homework in class and ask her questions. Moreover, she is one of the best professor's I have ever had. She is a professor that truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed.

I have learned so much from Prof. Harris this semester. I've learned how to be a better student mostly. She's really patient with that but expects you to do your part. Tests are not bad at all. But be prepared.

She is top notch, and if you're a fast learner she will work for you. She doesn't allow notes for tests. If you don't have all trig identities, exponential rules, e/logarithmic rules, and associated derivatives/integrals memorized you will struggle - as I did.

Solid choice for Cal 1. Not sure if its because I like math but I thought her lectures were amazing. The only thing I disliked was that here & there she would hide her paper and force us to figure out the answer by ourselves, even though were simply taking notes. I understand why she did it but it was just really annoying. "Ye' ain't dun yet" lmao

Professor Harris goes above and beyond when being there for her students. She is knowledgeable, excellent and patient. We had a school evacuation and she bought our class lunch in the midst of the turmoil. I wish more teachers cared like her! Awesome job Mrs Harris- thank you for all that you do!

Today, our Cal 2 final was interrupted due to a toxic gas that was released in the building. However, Amy Harris was not daunted by these circumstances. She secured us a room in another building and bought the whole class food after we were safe. Not only is Professor Harris an amazing teacher, but she's an outstanding, dedicated person too.

If you are ready to learn, she's ready to teach. Amazing teacher, lots of homework, expects you to study, be on time and present in class. Don't TALK you are there to LEARN, her opinion. If you focus in class and do the homework then you are good.

The best prof ever! She is so nice and cares so much about her students. There is quite a bit of homework but if you do the homework and study you will do fine in the class! She curved every single one of our exams and gave us opportunities to redo our homework and dropped our lowest homework grades. Take this prof!

Harris is a really good professor, there is homework every week , you understand her lectures, she has time for any questions, REALLY organized, she will give you partial credit, the only thing I didn't like, she doesn't give reviews for the tests so what I did, I repeated the homework i did for the chapters and helped me for the test.

Amy Harris is the worst calculus professor to take in Lone star university park. She makes the tests very difficult by butchering the instructions on the tests. The instructions are so blunt that each question is randomized which makes the test hard to take even if you study for the test. Even with this corona virus outbreak, her class is too hard.

We had to convert to online for covid. She's been very supportive of what we need class wise and what we need at home. Understanding of how hard this is online and works with me with email. Great professor!

Pick another professor if you're not good with math or if you can't use a calculator. I have never been so bored in any math class like her's and she's not good at explaining concepts, all she does is read what's on her notes. She makes you look dumb when a you ask a question too. She has a bleak personality and is very condescending.

I took Professor Harriss calculus 2 class this semester. I did NOT take her for calculus 1 so I found her class to be difficult. If you are majoring in engineering, I highly recommend taking her. She was very helpful and caring during quarantine and made everything easier on her students. She is a very caring person.

She is a wonderful old lady and she is like a caring grandmother and she really wants you to succeed in her class. She is available anytime and Mrs. Harris helps out every student who needs help. Hopefully everyone likes her whoever takes her because she is fascinating and really fun.

Obviously, Calculus is hard, but if you plan on taking it, take Prof. Harris. With her as my prof, I got an A as someone who made Bs in pre-cal. There's a lot of mandatory homework but all that practice gets you As on tests. Plus, she makes tests w/ "bonus" points so if you get 93/108, your grade is 93 because the 8 points after 100 were extra.

Professor Harris might seem a little too fast in her lectures at first but once you get used to her teaching style, the class is an easy A. She gives handwritten notes. With these notes, you don't need to even read the book. There is handwritten homework for all lessons and the exams are easy. She is extremely polite and truly cares for our success

Lectures are very one-sided, she only reads out from the notes and gets mad when we ask questions. Has a preference for students that have taken her before. Tests are over everything. Requires you to buy a textbook. No calculator at all. Memorize all formulas. Basically if you can learn by reading a book you'll pass, but she will not teach you.

The only good thing I can say about her is she seems to care and is accessible outside class. Other than that, there is way too much homework, no study guides, no calculators, and no extra credit. She got mad at me for leaving to use the restroom and is very strict on tardiness. Lectures are long and it's very easy to get left behind. Dropped.

Professor Harris is one of the most caring and prepared professors I've ever had, she makes you work for your grade but it's worthy. Indeed, she assigns lots of homework and her exams are hard but once you exit that class, you will be more than prepared. This class is designed to be hard, you will have to deal with this class concepts in the future

This is the rudest teacher I have never seen in my life!!! She make Math become a Horrible subject, Math is my favorite subject, and now I hated it. She showed no compassion in teaching, not sure why she still a teacher. Stay out of her class If you don't want a wasted your time. Be smart!!

DO NOT choose Mrs. Harris as your prof. I have gotten almost every question in the class correct so far, but I am failing because of her grading system. She only grades 4 random questions out of the full paper of around 15, and her grading rubrics only show how to do one type of question!

Professor Harris is very approachable and cares about her students. I hadn't taken college-level classes in 10 years, so my math was very rusty. While utilizing the office hours, that I suggest anyone to take advantage of I never felt bothersome with questions. If you truly want to be prepared for Calculus I highly recommend taking her.

I'm disappointed in the recent reviews. This class is not the easiest, but it's all about putting in the work. She gives you ALL the materials needed to succeed, so utilize them. She's a prof that wants to her students to genuinely learn. I've gotten A's in my other calc classes bc of her. Hard work pays off, so don't be lazy. TAKE HER CLASS.

I respect Professor Harris a lot, but her teaching methods do not coincide with mine. She makes you do a lot of extra work that for anyone with some knowledge of math would deem intuitive. She does care about her students, but her grading is ridiculously scrupulous: she only grades whatever questions she feels like rather than the entire paper.

Professor Harris is one of the best Calculus professors I have ever had. Her teaching style is comprehensive, and she will not leave you alone to tackle calculus problems. The course is very well structured, and the tests are very doable if one has practiced the class materials beforehand.

Professor Harris is without a doubt one of the most attentive and dedicated teachers out there. I took this class online during the Covid-19 pandemic, while struggling with work. Professor Harris was extremely supportive throughout the course and I never felt ignored or overlooked. The content was explained thoroughly, expect a decent workload.

If you are a straight A student moving on to cal II, do not take her. She does not teach at all, all she does is record herself reading her nots and uploads them to d2l as "lecture notes." If you go to her office hours to ask questions, she will not help you and only ask you more questions. 3 exams and 1 final. Up to 60 hw problems per week.

DON'T TAKE HER!! She made me hate math and this is coning from someone who has gotten 100s in my every class. I practically was teaching myself a class that I paid for. I regret taking her class. She didn't care for her students at all. Every time you ask a question she refers u back to the lecture video where she reads her notes rather than taking the time to help the student herself. She assigns a lot of hw problems & still doesn't have the decency to grade that hw, just grades randomly 4 ques. Don't take her.

This is my second semester taking her and I was at first scared in general due to the whole pandemic but she's just overall amazing!! Calculus 2 is far more difficult than Calculus 1 but she managed to put out great lectures that allowed me to understand the difficult concepts. There is a lot of homework but they helped me prep for the exam :)

First of all, she gives you all these unnecessary steps just to move forward in the course. You can't fast forward her lectures and the amount of extra work she makes you do is ridiculous when its not even for a grade. I'm an honor student and this was the most trash experience I've ever had taking a class. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HER!!

Professor Harris's class was a lot of work, but I believe if you plan on going to further calculus classes, the material she teaches you will benefit you so much. She always made sure to respond when I had questions and made sure I understood the concepts. The lecture videos are detailed so it makes it easy to refer back to if you missed something

The class itself is pretty difficult, but she gives plenty of opportunities to help. She gives a copy of the lecture notes with worked out problems that made homework a lot easier. She also gives plenty of in class time for homework help and is available through email most of the time. She is very respectful and caring of her class.

Prof. Harris is very thoughtful and will ask for our feedback and criticism about the tests. If a student had any questions she would answer them to her best ability. She does grade every little aspect of your homework and tests, and the notes are already written out for you. Lectures can be long and boring, but overall she's a good professor.
