The other users obviously do not know what they are talking about. Professor Hills is the most extraordinary professor I had in my college career thus far. Her lectures were crystal clear and she opened her attention outside of class hours for students who still just didn't quite get it. Also, this professor really made me interested in the subject

I am going for computer science and I had failed my first programming class at NYU. I decided to take a summer course at CSI to regain confidence with the subject. She was very helpful in just that. As long as you do the assignments and actually listen to her - she gives you everything you need to know to get an A in the class.

I wonder if she is as sarcastic to her potential home buyers as she is to her students? Avoid if possible. She definitely need to brush up on her teaching skills, they are horrible. She should stick to selling homes.

This professor is one of the sweetest people I know. She is great in explaining the subject. Also, she's always ready to help. I don't understand why other people react like that. I think if you do your work you will enjoy her class

Wonderful professor! I had a pleasurable experience in her class and mastered most of the material in about 2 months. Professor Hills always aims to help her students in order for them to succeed; moreover, her lectures are superb and interesting. Professor Hills is an angel. She is so sweet, and very helpful. I hated computer programming until I took that class with her. She is very professional, smart, and she knows how to teach. There's a reason I took this professor for 2 CSC classes. For a subject as difficult as computer science, she does more than an amazing job making sure everyone understands the material. She reviews ALL test material, so you know exactly what to study for. She's a sweetheart and makes the class really enjoyable, definitely take this professor!

She is an outstanding professor. One of the best I ever had. She definitely knows how to teach this challenging class. She is more than willing to go over material that you don't understand, but you have to study hard in order to receive an A. Don't expect miracles if you don't put enough of effort. I definitely recommend her!

Definitely a professor you'd love to introduce you to the world of programming. Take note that although she is a wonderful teacher with a charming personality, she does grade FAIR and will give you FAIR exams. Nothing will be given to you so you must work to achieve the desired grade in the class.

She is the sweetest little woman in the world of computer science. Just study the material from the text and you’ll do fine, especially BINARY. In CSC115 there are only a few assignments in the beginning and the rest of the time you are preparing for the midterm and final which are the only two tests she gives.

Professor Hills is a lovely and sweet woman who does her best to teach! Take notes, read the textbook, show up for every class, go to tutoring (if you need to), STUDY past notes/tests, and most importantly: TRACE, TRACE, TRACE! Professor Hills is a fair grader and will grade you on the amount of work YOU put into the class.

I learned C++ very well under Professor Hills' teaching, and she even went above and beyond to explain important topics related to software engineering. She has great industry experience and she challenges students to perform to that level. She's happy to help students who work hard. Syllabusassignment due dates could be made clearer in future.

I had Prof. Hills for two classes during my academic career. She was a great teacher and made sure that you knew the material before moving on. If you're struggling, she'll help you out in any way possible. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

She's very nice and if you show that you care about knowing the material she'll make sure that you do. It's not an easy class, but that has to do with the material itself, not how it's being taught. If you're looking for an easy class, look elsewhere; if you're going into computer science, I would definitely recommend Professor Hills.

She is probably the most sweetest professor I ever had. She wants everyone to pass. She uses the textbook in class. It really easy. Just show up, participate, do the assignment. She only gives 2 tests; a midterm and final. I love her.

I cant believe all of the bad comments because absolutely NONE of them are true. She is amazing, takes it slow so you can understand and remember everything. Computer science isn't an easy classmajor but she makes it feel easy i took her for two semesters and got an A in both classes. If i could continue taking classes with her i would! MUST TAKE!

Began giving useful and helpful notes when a student spoke up. She used the textbook to teach. Only gave a midterm and final exam was given. She deducts a lot of points for small mistakes. Wouldn't recommend.

She's very laid back in her teaching demeanor. She takes attendance because she has to, but it won't affect your grade. The lessons are mostly taught from the book. The exams involve a lot of tracing, and her assignments emphasize algorithms. The class was very easy overall, though, it wasn't engaging enough to justify.

Prof Hills is fantastic. She's intelligent, cares about her students, and has a great sense of humor. Her class feels like home. Programming isn't the easiest subject but she is always willing to help. It's quite useful to pick her brain not just for her knowledge of programming but also for her knowledge of the work force and other matters.

Prof. Amy Hills is a very understanding professor. I've had her for assembly (CSC220) and Intermediate Programming (CSC211). I can say that she's not here to make things unnecessarily difficult. Exams make up most of your grade, but there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit through projects and on the exams. Also you get breaks :)

I have this woman now as professor for one of my college classes. The class is Computer Science 220, Assembly Language. She definitely uses her time wisely and even gives a break every now and then.... it's good - it's a break and even gives one the chance to use the bathroom without missing class material... She also respects her students.

Took 211 in the summer. She is extremely knowledgeable. In 211 there are a lot of ways that students can misunderstand things and get lost. She finds out exactly where students got tripped up and steers them back on course. Gave fun labs and extra credit labs. No surprises on tests. Pay attention, ask questions, work hard, don't leave class early.

She's the best CS professor that I have ever had. She's a great teacher who somehow manages to teach at the pace of most of the class while somehow managing to cover everything on the syllabus, and making sure that everyone UNDERSTANDS, and that those who can move a little further ahead are never bored. She is also kind, caring, and helpful.

She doesnt teach. You have to take out a lot of time to teach yourself and have to read each chapter by yourself to manage to get an A in the class. Her exams are pretty hard and she doesnt give a review sheet. She assigns labs but doesnt teach how to do the labs..I dont recommend her.

Incredible professor. Attend class, pay attention and put the effort in, you will be fine. She is caring and is very, very intelligent. Teaches well, & always willing to assist students under they get it. Remember, hw is given to reinforce a lesson taught. Arrives early... makes use of class time. Definitely taking her again!! Im an overall good student who can grasp new concepts quickly but this class is absolutely insane. Her teaching methods are distasteful and u basically have to teach yourself off of a textbook (which if any of you tried to do know its difficult). Im glad its finally over and Ill do anything to avoid taking her again. :)

Youtube is a better teacher than her. Very verbose and unlike other teachers, she mostly writes on the board instead of actually running code on the computer to demonstrate what happens, and doesn't post notes. Also only teacher that demands you to print out your labs instead of just emailing or posting it on blackboard, complete waste of paper.

worst professor i ever had , she dont teach only read the slides. i have to teach my self in you tube and i paid the school for this class. also she is forcing us to use zoom as a protector which one is prohibited in NYC. some one have to sue the school.

No good skill in teaching, her methods aren't explained properly so they are confusing. This professor loves to give backhanded comments to her students. Most of us have noticed. Favoritism seems to be a very strong vibe in the class. So, she doesn't care about the other students who are doing ok or failing. Tried retaking the class. Doesnt respond

Professor Hills doesn't actually teach, she just reads from the textbook (one of those profs). Online, she has a really bad connection every class, does not share her screen, and just confuses everyone -- even on topics they already know. Maybe irl she's better but I doubt it. I definitely wouldn't recommend Hills to any of my friends.

Yeah, I just dropped this with my friend. I received a meh grading on the midterm because I'm just starting out, y'know? He's way smarter, aced the exam, and professor Hills gave him a 0. If he received a zero, I'm scared about what I'll end up with. She's always disconnecting in class and annoying background audio. DO NOT TAKE!

Reads straight from the textbook. Forces students to participate by calling them out in class and refers to them as "victims". If a student doesn't know the answer she shames them. Doesn't check chat even if a student responds she will mark them down. Constantly goes on random tangents about students who don't care. Highschool all over again.

Professor Hills teaching style is very textbook oriented. She gives a lot of attitude and backhanded comments towards students. The good thing is it's easy to catch up since you could just read the textbook. Also, she'll call on student randomly but participation does matters. Exams are based on the textbook and cameras are required to take exams.

Professor Hills has been one of my favorite professors nonetheless. She makes sure you understand the material and she arrives early to the classroom for any extra help before the lecture starts. She also stays after class to go over anything you don't understand. Overall a great professor, very easy as long as you pay attention. STUDY!!!

Compared to the CS126 I took in Hunter where I learned nothing and it was all over the place with 3 languages she focuses solely on C++ and is a good professor highly recommended.

This professor was amazing, I learn so much from this class. As someone who have never taken a computer science class in my life, I learn a lot with in the short 8 weeks of this class. the Professor takes her time to explain when we don't understand. she always asked if we need help. she is willing to help us participate during lab time.
