Amy was a very fun teacher to work with. Took lots of notes, but they were the key to the test so I didn't mind. She was always caring and understanding. Sometimes overlooked raised hands on accident. Very relaxed and easy going. Homework wasn't hard, and class work was fun. Lots of good movies as well! Overall a very good class!

Amy Kassler is an absolutely wonderful professor. She is very engaging and entertaining, and teaches by encouraging discussion during her lectures. I had Amy for 2 classes- general psych and lifespan. She is the best psych teacher I have every had. I am now up at Univ. of Wash. and am still comparing everyone to her... even if you are not interested in psychology, you will certainly enjoy her classes. She teaches using a variety of tools... movies, utube, discussions & lecture.

Amy is an AMAZING teacher! This is my fourth class I've taken from her, and they have all been equally as good. You can tell that she really has a passion for what she's teaching. There is no attendance policy, but her enthusiasm makes you not want to miss class! Her classes are easy, but they are also the ones that I've learned the most in.

Wonderful teacher. Overall most people say the class is easy (fairly light homework assignments, credit for in-class seminars, and multiple choice tests). Her tests can be tricky though, so watch out! She is amazingly gifted as a teacher - so take her and enjoy learning something about psychology. She will make it fun for you.

This is the fifth class that I have taken with Amy, and she was wonderful as always! The tests in this class are different than her others, because they are written and not multiple choice, so make sure to take notes when there are guest speakers because of this. The textbook isn't listed as optional, but I didn't open mine once and still got an A.

I took Amy for lifespan psychology then intro to social work. She is the best teacher I've had at sps. She is so excited about what she does and her classes are interesting. I look forward to taking her in future classes! Take her class!!!

I did not really want to take the class when I signed up but because it was required I did. I am very glad that I did! I learned a lot of useful information. The instructor is a caring, fair person. If you put the work in and do the bi-weekly homework then there is no way not to be able to receive an A in her class!

I found this class to be very easy and interesting. She is a great professor and gives you all the material for the tests while keeping the class involved and interested. I would recommend this class to everyone.

I had Amy Kassler for Abnormal Psych. Her class was so fun! The whole class felt like a discussion, and it felt l like a safe place to talk about everything. There were some assignments, tests, and reading, but you didn't feel like you were drowning in work, and barely keeping up. It was easy to manage my work load.

Awesome teacher! I really enjoyed this class. She keeps lectures very interesting. There are 4 tests total including the final put that's optional or you can take all 4 and she drops the lowest grade. They're all 50 multiple choice. There is a project due at the end put its very easy and actually very interesting to do.

Love Kasslershe's easy and you learn a lot. She's passionate about teaching. Barely ever any homework. Wouldn't advise buying the textbook.. just wait until she has you buy the online code by itself later. Final project was fun.

Very good teacher

I really enjoyed taking this course with Amy. From the very first day she was energetic and cheerful. I'm not going to lie, this is definitely a "fluff" class and was one of the easiest courses I have taken, especially compared to some of the hard sciences. I am definitely not complaining though, and I retained more in this class than most.

Amy is a wonderful professor! She is energetic, humorous, and has interesting viewpoints. It's impossible to fail unless you literally don't try, or never show up. Tests are multiple choice and straight forward, and she covers everything in class! I wish I had more time left on my degree to take more classes from her. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Kassler is full of life and brings personality to the classroom. There is typically little to no homework-- one assignment due each Friday. Only 4 tests, but are challenging to study for. Notes from class do not suffice for the types of questions seen on the actual tests. Overall, a wonderful professor. Definitely taking another course w/ her!

She's very lively and fun! As for homework, there's only a 1 page assignment once a week. Super easy and laid back. You'd have to try sooo hard to not pass. Easy A especially if you attend seminars. There are 4 tests but only 3 count. There's plenty of opportunity for an A. You only need a 90% for an A as well.

Amy is passionate about social work and it really showed in her lectures! Wish this class was available more often so other people could take it. Amy had us do service learning projects that really brought the class to a tangible level! She was great at directing the class group dynamics and made discussions really fun even with difficult subjects!

Amy is very passionate about the lifespan and it totally shows in her lectures. Anything above a 90% is an A. Her class is super fun because she is really interactive in the lectures. I would definitely take a class from her again. Its not that hard to get an A if you study and come to class. Participation is a grade so you have to show up.

Great teacher! Her lectures are interesting which makes it easy to pay attention. There is only 1 assignment a week that is pretty easy and then there is just a few tests and instead of a research paper for a final it is a pretty easy photo essay.

Amy was awesome! She is really passionate about psychology so it's really fun to learn from her. There were seminars every Friday so you really just need to make sure you go to those, and I think I read from the textbook a total of 5 times and still passed with an A. Such a cool professor!

Abnormal Psychology is worth taking with this professor - she knows the subject and has this interesting way of sharing the material. She is passionate, excited, and has great examples. The work load is perfect for a quarter class. Films are awesome and relevant just a little dated. I wish this course would last two quarters.

No matter what your major is, every student at SPSCC should take this class. The material is super interesting and Amy teaches it very well. And she's a SUPER loud talker (but it keeps you awake), so I'd suggest sitting near the back/middle. Homework and tests are really relaxed and easy if you look at her power points and pay attention in class.

Im taking lifespan with Amy right now - I dont think I have ever looked forward to going to a class as much as this one. Exciting, loud, fun, and interesting. Shes got great stories and the time flies! I havent taken a test yet but hoping its as planned out as class is everyday. Book is online and that really helps me out.

Amy taught Life span Psychology in a way that made the book and notes come to life. I normally do not care for basic lecture/take a test course but this one was different. Every day we had great conversations and time to reflect on our own lives as it related to the lecture. I have a feeling I will remember this class and the information.

Cant say enough great things about her. She really works with you if you have things going on in your personal life. She is totally relatable and makes the information stick - lectures are a FUN TIME! Attendance isnt mandatory but you wont want to miss a day. I always enjoyed going to class!

Great lectures, easy to follow, not much hw, reading the book is helpful for exams but you don't have to bring the book to class. This class is worth taking, even if you aren't a psych major.

She is a great teacher! She assigns little work aside from reading the chapter in the textbook and things that correlate with the chapter. When she grades she tells you what you did wrong and where you can improve. Gives amazing feedback and i love that. She is a great professor.

She does not except late work, and with everything going on outside of school, that was a total bummer, but the homework wasn't too hard but wasn't too easy. I would take her class again. Psychology can get personal, so she likes to know if we have any issues with the assignments so we can try a plan B assignment. Very sweet.

Prof Kassler was a very inspiring and attentive instructor. She does weekly videos to check in and is open to any questions you may have. The course work was pretty easy to get through, as long as you do a little reading and research. Overall, I would definitely take her class again.

Professor Kassler is the best professor I've ever had. She is passionate about psychology and respects all opinions without showing bias. Her assignments are more geared towards identifying and interacting with disorders in the real world, which is great if you're training to become a psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, or medical professional.

Professor Kassler was a great teacher and the class was so engaging and interesting. All of the topics in the chapter we applied later and somehow most of the content all connected. There was a decent amount of reading with the chapters and occasionally some articles. But overall this class teaches you so much and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Very involved in her lectures, fired up about the topics she taught and was very encouraging when it came to becoming involved in her lectures. Would often ask people about their experiences and tie that info in with her lecture. She was also very accommodating to submissions of assignments, which was super helpful as I work full time as well.

I loved Prof Kassler and will 100% be taking her again if I'm able to! She is very loud in a good way, don't feel nervous coming into her class. It felt like I genuinely belonged in this class.
