Lab Instructor. Very nice and helpful. A+++
Originally I took her as a lab instructor. Then I didn't pass the class and ended up having her as a professor....SHE'S GREAT!!!!!!!!! She is very helpful and loves what she does. Amy will do everything in her power to help you, she speaks clearly, and takes her time. Very organized!!!!

easy class i have ever taken in my entire college career besides a P.E.. You have two chances to do the focus exercises..the test are easy, she has study sessions and is always willing to help..just come to class.. do your excercises.. do decent on your quizzes and test and you will get an A
I currently have her for stat210. The class is very easy. I rarely-to-never go to lecture, and I'd say I have a 95 or better. She is extremely helpful and understanding. She's laid back and knows what she's talking about. I would highly recommend her for lecture as well as lab.
She is a VERY sweet person, she really knows the subject well. She explains every topic in detail and works many example problems with you. Attend lecture if you want to see these example problems worked out, then you hardly need to study at all for the exams.
She is a great teacher... show up to class for the clickers do well on quizzes and tests... you will do fine. She is helpful and understanding!
She makes having to take stat a lot easier.
Sweet lady, great at her job. You couldn't want more from a stat instructor. Don't miss class though, you will fall behind fast.
Very sweet lady, very helpful, and quickly responds to e-mail questions. Has a lot of patience when it comes to those of us who are not mathematically inclined...puts up with a lot more than she should have to in lecture...even though attendance only counts 5%, don't skip...her lectures are the key to passing.
she's a very nice professor, her lectures are very helpful though the class could be very long and repetitive. Her tests are easy, and the sample tests help a lot.
I found that although her class was pretty easy, it was hard to bring myself to go to class most of the time, she read straight off the slides and the slides were straight from the supplement. the excercises are easy so long as u do them and the quizes u can usually get thru if u do the excercieses right before hand. Her class is bearable tho.
Very kind lady!! The material is easy and as long as you come to class and do the assignments it should be an easy A.
VERY helpful teacher. Lots of examples in class, which makes the learning a lot easier. It's not like if you don't get it the first time, too bad. Quick to respond to emails, and very nice. Material is hard, but she explains it thoroughly. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS, or it's hard.
Nice lady, although she occasionally gets on my nerves for no real reason. Probably the easiest math class you'll take in your life...I've got a 99 with a minimal amount of effort, and I usually SUCK at math.
She does a wonderful job as a professor. She teaches well, her grading system is fair(your grade isn't just based on tests), she responds to emails right away, and she makes herself available for the students outside of class time if we have any questions. Then to top it off she's just really nice!
SUPER SUPER NICE TEACHER. Would recommend her to everyone I know. She was helpful, very thorough, made it interesting, and very well organized. A++ Teacher.
SHE IS THE BEST!!!! Very kind lady i had her for the lab also at 8am on a thursday, but she was always smiling very easy to talk to, gave study guides for all tests, and this class is a easy A if you do the work... try to get her for the lab also you will not regret it! A++++
boring, annoying, does not explain too well...tries to trick you on purpose with cps questions, tests have too much wording which can get confusing. THIS IS NOT MATH, it's just made up bs to make it sound like it's something greater than it really is.
Awful teacher, in lecture doesn't explain anything. She is rude and just gives difficult clicker questions. Tests are impossbiel to pass, class avg is 37%!
Prof. Woodcock is an amazing teacher. She was always extremely professional, and extremely fair. She busts her ass to make sure that student do well in the class, and if you don't do well it can only be because you weren't doing any of the work. Which is the only problem. Homework isn't checked, and so it's very easy to let yourself slip behind.
Class is dull, and very aggravating. There is a lot of work, quizzes every lab section each week, focus excercises that take 2-3 hours to complete, etc... not worth your time
VERY nice lady! Very professional! Easy to talk to. People fails this class only because they didn't try. the class is very easy as long as you go to class and just pay attention. I didn't have to try hard to get an A in her class.
Had her for the lab section this semester. The sweetest lady you'll ever meet. She likes if you ask questions and will go over anything for you during classtime. You don't have to come to lab, but you'll miss out on the quiz.
SHES Kimbrough NOW. the material is boarin so its not her. but easy class and attendance is only required for clicker questions. but make sure you go to lab beacuse thats were u take ur quizes and go over problems and really learn
the material is boarin so its not her. but easy class and attendance is only required for clicker questions. but make sure you go to lab beacuse thats were u take ur quizes and go over problems and really learn
Only a so-so professor. Better suited for high school mathematics. Didn't do a good enough job expaining Excel or OR.
Great Personality, class just starts out with the basic of stat and steadily increases. By the end if you dont practice it ends up becoming very very confusing. Get all equations (but two) on each assignment, clicker questions and such. Go through the entire workbook (textbook is not used at all, just workbook). Simple class!
After every sentence she finishes she says "mmk" in a mumbled tone to herself. Class is easy tho, the tests mirror the pract. tests. The lab quizzes are even easier. Lecture is clicker questions that affect your grade, but lecture's only 50 mins. Easily a B, not to much extra effort for an A.
Good professor, she posted all da lectures on BB, so all you have to do is study off those lecture notes and get a easy A :), da class sort of boring, but itz pretty easy to get an A in her class if you put time and effort into studying da lecture notes :)
She does tend to say "um" and "mmk" a lot, but she's definitely a good teacher. I am not a math person at all, but I had nearly 100% in her class. The practice tests are very similar to the actual tests, and the CPS questions are a breeze. I would recommend taking her; she explains things very clearly and made stats seem a lot easier for me.

Great professor. She's very nice, maybe too nice. Her tests are not hard. You can be exempt from taking the final if you want your class grade to be your lowest test grade. Class can be boring. Easy to get an A if you just study for each test. :)
Very disorganized and rude. She stands there and rambles on as she reads out the book. Get a good tutor. Avoid her! 7 Tests!
Great professor! She really makes it easy to understand statistics and I am HORRIBLE at anything related to math!! All of her lectures and examples are posted on BB. She even provides 3 practice tests for each of her exams, which are IDENTICAL to her exams. SO if you do the practice tests and understand them, you will get an A no problem.
Professor Kimbrough is one of the nicest professors that I have met. She makes the material very easy to understand. Make sure you take your book w/you to class and take notes. Try not to miss any classes because those CPS points do come in handy!!!
she's a very nice prof. but you need to bring some caffeine pills because this lady is one boring person. attendance is mandatory because she gives lots of cps questions but other than being boring she is a very good and easy teacher.
Very easy teacher.she basically put the book on a powerpoint.you have to attend class because there's a lot of CPS points.tests are super easy if you use her study guides.they are really helpful.she's boring but you could pretty much get through the class without paying attention as long as you have the book and do practice tests.
Extremely easy and I don't really like statistics. While she does do seven tests I thought it made the class easier. You only had to study for one chapter at a time and it was literally from the power points. Easy A on every test.
Painfully boring. And what's with the random celeb pics in the powerpoints that have nothing to do with anything?!? Pics are totally distracting, and her voice is really whiney and hard to listen to. Especially that squeaky, "does anyone have any questions?" It makes me shudder ever time... Ugh.
Google image search celeb pictures on slides: REMOVE. You're forced to attend just for the CPS questions - NO helpful knowledge is gleaned that can't be found from reading the book. That said, the class is among the easiest I've ever taken. She's also a very nice person and knows stats very well.
take your laptop or an ipod..she is a breeeeeeeze. even I got an A...thats saying alot.
Very sweet lady and explains everything very well. You're allowed cheat-sheets for the tests because of all the formulas. Alot of homework, but not hard.
classes are so boring, and all the powerpoints are online. However, I had to miss two weeks of class for a family emergency and she would not let me make up any of the test or work.
I cannot say enough good things about Kimbrough. Although she uses the textbook to no end, she also explains all examples and definitions thoroughly. I'm not a math person - to say the least - but Kimbrough made it bearable and I came out of the class with an A. She's extremely organized and helpful! Take her class!
The best teacher I have ever had. Probably the most work in a course I have ever had also. Very time consuming as far as homework and projects. She makes math easy though. Very patient, very smart, and very nice. I am glad I had her and not the other teacher after talking to people. She needs an award for being an awesome teacher.
Very easy class/teacher. Heavy on textbook and examples and uses CPS everyday so be there for attendance! Definitely recommend this class for an easy A
easy class. 7 tests so its really easy to study a few concepts and then move on without getting bogged down. final exam is cumulative but not that hard. teacher is very helpful and will respond to emails quickly. no homework. easy extra credit online quizzes given. very clear instructions throughout the semester and syllabus is followed.
so easy all you need to do is follow the powerpoints.
She is such a sweetheart! Very easy class if you follow the book. Don't forget to go for those CPS points!
She moves at a pace that makes it very easy to understand. She is so nice! Any questions you have are always answered. She will help you One on One if you need it instead of the Help Sessions. She uses the supplement book every class and her CPS questions are based on them sometimes so bring it to class. Highly Recommend her!
If you fail this class then it's your fault. She's EXTREMELY helpful and even has a TA with help hours as well. It's not the most interesting material, but she does a great job of making the class easy to understand. I'm terrible with math and passed with an A. Take her!
GREAT TEACHER...you have to pay attention in class and do the practice questions in the book. do all the extra credit quizzes also.
She's awesome! Really nice and always helpful. Really doesn't move on until everyone understands. If you go to class (even if you suck at math) then you'll do fine! BUY THE BOOK AND A TI-83. Book gives you instructions and about 60% of the work you can do on your TI-83! TAKE HER! :)
She's really nice and doesn't go too fast. Gives ample opportunity for you to get a good grade in her class (CPS points, help sessions, lots of exams to boost your average.) She also makes a decent effort to make a pretty boring subject more interesting/relevant to real life. FYI, having a TI-83 for this class helps a lot!
I think she is the best statistics teacher at VCU. She is very clear when teaching, allows cheat sheets for exams, and provides a good amount of extra credit. The class requires a lot of work (projects and homework) which was expected since it is a 4 credit upper-level class.
Kimbrough makes math easy to learn. Attendance is important because she gives an average of 5 clicker questions per class. I highly recommend taking her class and help is available pretty much every day of the week.
wonderful professor. Very helpful and understanding. She gave 7 test,a final (optional)and we had CPS questions every class which counted towards your grade so you should go to class. she didnt take attendance and was very helpful.if you need to take STAT 210 TAKE HER. You will pass and she relates STAT to real life! WOULD TAKE again. NO HW EVER
Tests don't have a lot of question so study because you can only get one wrong to get an A. Uses cps so must attend, no hw. Pretty easy but straight up math, i liked her.
Nice lady, very helpful and sweet. This class however doesn't take attendance, but has clicker questions every class that count. 7 tests are given and a final, practice tests online and power points are online as well. Just not good at this class, i think it would've helped if she had assigned homework to motivate me to practice outside of class
Had lots of homework, major tests, and plenty of SPSS work. Difficult to keep up at times, but it should be difficult since its 314. I wasn't happy with her group grade because my portion deserved an A (she said so) but I got an 80 which brought my final to a B. Unfair. She's worth taking, just get good partners and attend every class.
If you need to take STAT210, take Kimbrough. There are plenty of grades throughout the semester (seven tests and CPS questions every class). She knows what she's talking about when it comes to statistics. She's very nice and sometimes even funny. No homework. TAKE KIMBROUGH! Easy A.
She's a really nice lady. Doesn't issue that much work and the tests are ok. My only complaint is that she teaches a statistics class from POWERPOINTS which are from the book. Never uses the board at all, so any working of problems is done by the animation on the powerpoint. Not an easy way to learn math. She will help if you're confused though.
Kimbrough is an AMAZING teacher. This is the second time I've had to take the class (the first time I ended up withdrawing because I was taking another difficult class.) I have not gotten below an 85 on any of the tests, and the final is optional! Come to class everyday, CPS questions definitely help out your grade!
THIS CLASS IS AN OKAY CLASS IF YOU GO TO CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION. SHES'S A REALLY GOOD TEACHER THAT MAKES STATISTCS PRETTY EASY TO UNDERSTAND :)
Kimbrough's nice. It's an easy class, but VERY boring. There are around 4-6 clicker questions every day, which have a significant impact on your grade, so coming to class helps. Uses the supplement every day, which gets old. There are 7 tests, but the final exam is optional if you're happy with your grade.
An extremely fair grader and even better lecturer. She could teach statistical applications to kindergartners. Not only will you learn a lot in this class, you will get an easy A in a 4-credit upper level statistics class.
Very easy, and simple. Love her.
Ms. Kimbrough is very nice and always willing to help you. The lectures are boring which is why you will be tempted to skip class every now and then but the attendance is mandatory since there are 5-6 clicker questions each class. The final is optional and she uses the supplement every class.
I found her class confusing and I just couldn't learn from her teaching. I had someone else completely teach me that had taken it. Once I did that my grades were good. I hate how she does so much clicker points. My grade suffered just because I didn't understand her teaching and couldn't get all the clickers right. Not right, but optional final.
Kimbrough is really nice, but the lectures are really boring. Go for the clicker points, but all the lectures are online so you don't have to pay attention. Do the practice tests before the test, they're really helpful and can get you a 100 even if you haven't paid attention in class.
Very clear, super nice lady. Tests are nitpicky, but not too difficult if you know the material. Class is boring but statistics can only get so interesting. Not necessary to pay too much attention in class, but clicker points do add up. Fairly easy class and Kimbrough is a great lady!
Amy Kimbrough is great. Her class is easy. She requires the supplement book so you can follow along. Most of the questions she does for clickers (which are graded as well as used for attendance) are based off of book examples. She posts her lecture slides online and she is very thorough. I definitely recommend taking her!
She co-instructs this course with Dr. Street; however, he rarely shows up. It IS a time consuming course, but it is not a hard course. Attend class, put in the time to do the homework correctly (step by step guides for each problem are posted on BB), and make a good cheat sheet (allowed for test). You'll get an A without ever memorizing anything.
This class is no walk in the park. Expect lengthy, time consuming homework assignments, multiple group projects, take home tests, and in class tests. Sometimes all in one week. In class time is extremely boring. Kimbrough and Street are nice and helpful but just beware before you dive headfirst into this class.
This class is as easy as college gets. As has been stated, you get clicker points that count towards a grade. 7 exams, with plenty of practice problems and tests. The optional final replaces all exam grades (and clicker grade) that are lower than the final...so you could flunk every exam, ace the final and get an A.
She is a great teacher, and a very sweet woman. Everything she says is very clear, and she tells you exactly what she wants you to know for the test. She gives multiple practice tests, which are virtually the same as the real test. If you go to class and spend a few hours studying before the test, you are almost guaranteed an A.
Dr. Kimbrough was always very helpful and made statistics as easy as possible. You do have to come to class because she does clicker questions, but they're not difficult as long as you're paying attention. She puts online practice tests that are very helpful and similar to her tests. Also, her final is optional if you're happy with your grade. :)
The course is meant to be an easy A so with that said the choice of professor wont matter much. This class is completely unbearable to sit through. If you dont want to sit through it just ace the final and it will override every lower grade. Exams come directly from powerpoint lectures that are also posted on blackboard
This class is taught by both her and Dr Street. I thought They were both really nice and made you work quite hard to get your grade. The course has a lot of homework and be ready for a few group projects. The workload can be stressful but if you put in the effort there is no reason to not pass this class.
Her teaching style is basically "powerpoint slide" but that does have its advantages when cramming for tests. Lenient curriculum where final replaces all of the previous 8 assignment's grades if higher then them, makes it hard to fail if you apply yourself at all (even if you love to skip). Straightforward entry Lvl stats classprofessor. Decent.
Easy class. She is very clear and gives you practice tests and practice questions. I'm not a math person and I got an A. Make sure to go to class for the clicker questions. 7 tests but they are not too long because she generally makes each unit pretty short.
She is such a sweet lady! It's an easy class, and her patience is phenomenal. Reads straight off the powerpoints, always answers questions, and is overall very clear. Sometimes the class moves a little slow, but other than that, I would definitely take her again.
As long as you study and go to class for clicker points, this class is any EASY A. She's very nice & will help you with any questions you have! The final is optional, but it replaces any low test grades you have. So even if you struggle at first, the final can save you! The study sessions helped me get an A on almost every test. TAKE HER!
I'm terrible at math-related subjects, so this class was pretty tough for me. However, the final exam replaces any and all grades that are lower than that, so I'm hoping that'll save me. Overall, she's a nice lady, but just reads off the PowerPoint. You don't necessarily have to go to class, but It'll definitely help you (Clicker Questions).
She provides 3 practice test for each test so you can review. The practice test are EXACTLY like the real test if you study and do the practice test you will pass the test. The book isn't necessary. she does do clicker questions in every class for attendance and extra points. If you have questions during the test she will answer them for you.
She is a very nice lady, but she expects wayyyyy too much. The course material is easy, but the workload from the homework is unbearable. Her tests are tough and our first test was so long that she even said that she didn't expect all of us to finish it. Overall, she's nice and kind of helpful when you ask, but the course is designed horribly.
Handful of test, but makes it clear how to do good. 7 test87.5 of grade, clicker 12.5.... The final 3 test were tough, but I showed upto every class and got a B without taking the final. If you show up every class your guaranteed a B, if you don't show up to class your screwed.
I am terrible at math-related subjects and this class solidified that fact. I absolutely hated this class; although Kimbrough is extremely nice and very understanding (I had to re-schedule my final exam, and although she was ill, she was able to have another prof. administer it). If you show up to class and do the clicker questions, you'll pass
The structure of the class basically went; learn a process, do a class example, do a problem for homework. This happens for each statistical test. The homework is due weekly and I would budget 3-4 hours to complete it. You also use SPSS which is self-taught through similar examples, not in class. She was helpful in office hours, even for SPSS.
Such a sweet person! Very open to questions during class, and actually takes the time to explain each concept thoroughly. Posts copies of more examples, help with SPSS, lecture notes, and formulas all on Blackboard, in case you miss something. There's a homework assigned every week, which usually takes a while but you have a week to do it.
Professor Kimbrough is pretty easy. If you do her practice test which mean you must put in some work. That's it for an "A" and if you're not there yet her fail replaces ALL lower grades.
Very nice. Class is clear-cut and predictable. Lecture, example, HW, repeat. HW is once a week but it's long and will take you a while - don't wait till the last minute... Only two tests and a group project, so it's not difficult, but going to class is recommended to distinguish between all those statistical tests. You don't need the textbook.
Love her! I was terrified I had to take Stat to graduate I'm HORRIBLE at math but she actually breaks it down to make concepts super easy to understand. Her practice tests help so much, DO THEM! She's always there to help! Doesn't take attendance but does have clicker questions every class that count towards your grade so go to class for sure!
I had Mrs. Kimbrough for STAT 210, and I have to say I haven't had an easier class. Her lectures are very clear and concise, she communicates effectively, and her grading system is straightforward. This is a graded clicker class, so attendance is slightly mandatory. She made the material easy to learn, and provided all the material you could need.
I had her for STAT 210, and I would have never understood this topic without her. She is an amazing professor with amazing lectures. She has relevant clicker questions, making you have to understand what she is talking about. No complaints about her, she replies to emails fast and is an overall very caring professor.
Amy does such a great job of explaining the material! She used many examples and relevant clicker questions to help ensure that everyone understood. She posts 3 practice tests for every exam and they are very helpful/almost identical as the actual exam. She is a great professor
Grade comes from homework, midterm, final, and a group project. Allowed to have one paper of notes on midterm and two on final. If you go to class, take down all the notes, and use them to do the homework/make your cheat sheets you will be fine.
Professor Kimbrough's class was probably the easiest I've ever taken at VCU. She makes what you need to know for the test extremely clear, she even posts study guides/solutions for the test. She made Statitics a breeze. You do have you show up to get clicker points, but it's worth it!!! Take her class!
Professor Kimbrough made Stat 210 a breeze. There are a total of 7 tests, but she clearly goes over the information for each test and posts three practice tests for each test. The final is optional and replaces all lower grades. Highly recommend you take it with her. Only thing is she has clicker questions everyday. All in all great professor.
She made statistics an easy A. She goes over the information slowly and really breaks it down. Her study guides are almost identical to the test, so if you do them you'll get an A. Make sure you get her as your professor! It's worth it!!!
Professor Kimbrough is so sweet and a great teacher. The class was really easy and some of the concepts were harder than others, but she made sure the class understood and she had office hours that you could attend if you still did not understand.
Amy is nice and a good lecturer, but you get what you get on your tests. The margins for getting a A are very slim so practice problems in the book will save your life. Lectures can seem redundant but you'll be grateful for the repetition come the tests - which are every other week. Unless you know STATS - go to class.
I loved her!! She was so sweet and taught very well. Her study guides helped a lot and she was always ready to help. TAKE HER! Tests are easy!
Amy is awesome! She made stats seem easy. Go to class and pay attention, do the practice tests to study, and you're good to go! Shes also very sweet and makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on. Highly recommend
Amy was a wonderful professor. She is a really tough grader. If you study and practice the homework problems, you should do well on the tests. I'd say it's vital to get into a good group for the project. Some of the groups in my class really flubbed it, and the grading was harsh.
Kimbrough is a great professor and I say as long as you go to class and take notes you will understand the material. The only problem with this class is there is a lot of homework. The homework took me 4-5hrs usually. It was not very hard, just time consuming. It was worth it though. She is pretty generous with grading.
There are 7 tests on small amounts of material, tophat questions every class, and an optional final that will replace any grades lower than it. Lectures are very clear and she is happy to answer questions. She also posts 3 practice tests with solutions on BB for each exam. Textbook isn't very necessary (I didn't use it) but helpful if you need it.
I loved Ms. Kimbrough! She was so kind and without a doubt knew what she was talking about. She provides thought out study guides and practice tests for each test and makes sure everyone understand the material before moving on. Truly an outstanding teacher and if you must take this class, take her! One of the best math professors by far!
One of the nicest teachers I have ever had! She does an excellent job at explaining the material and offers a lot of help to students. As long as you show up and answer the top hat questions in class, you should pass. She uploads practice tests for each unit that are exactly like the actual test. This was one of my favorite classes. Loved it. (:
Great professor! She is very good at explaining Stats. She does have many tests throughout the course but if you do well on them you can skip the final. You do need the book and need to go to class. Uses tophat for participation and tophat grade is weighed like a test. Enjoyed the class
Very difficult, was not helpful at all. Clearly does not care about student's performance.
Awesome and sweet professor. Hardly used the textbook, just pay attention to her lectures which are very clear. Make sure to do her practice tests, the actual test is very similar to them. Really cares about her students and makes the class as easiest as possible. Final exam can replace the grade of any test(s) beforehand if it was higher.
GO TO CLASS, if you do not go to class you will not pass, you cannot teach yourself this course, do NOT ASSUME YOU CAN
Mrs. Kimbrough is probably the best teacher to take for an easy stat credit. She gives 7 tests in total, all basically the same as her practice tests and her lectures are through TopHat. She knows the material so well and doesn't read off of the board. She will answer every question and if you have more questions, visit her office hours. TAKE HER!!
This class doen't exactly need the textbook because everything in in the slides but I like to follow with the textbook. Unlike other Stat 210 professors I didn't have to try to understand the professors through their accent. Do all practice exams, get tutored or go to the SI Sessions if you think you need the extra help, and answer the tophat right
Dr. Kimbrough is an amazing professor who always answered students' questions even during lectures. The textbook is only needed if you plan on writing in it; otherwise, all of the questions the professor used were in her PowerPoints. The actual tests looked almost identical to the many practice tests available. Top Hat was also used!
Professor Kimbrough is really nice and she's really specific. She explains things so well. She does have TopHat questions in class, so you should probably go to class. Her tests are pretty easy too (there are a lot of tests), and she has practice tests that are exactly like the test online.
I am terrible at math, but she made statistics very simple. If you pay attention and take notes you will pass. She goes over everything and is very clear, she also has practice tests, do them. She uses tophat for attendance and questions during class so if you don't go to class you will lose points. The tophat questions are incredibly easy though.
GUYS. Whatever grade you get on this final replaces any test grade or tophat grade that is lower than it. For me that meant I slacked off and did really bad on a few of the tests and didn't show up so I had a 57%(F). In the end I got a 82% on my final which means I got a B in the course! Take her. Seriously. Lots of chances to redeem yourself.
Prof. Kimbrough is seriously the best statistics teacher, her teaching is very straight forward. Her class involves only 8 grades, 7 tests and a Top Hat grade. I got a 100 in class! The final is optional and replaces all grades lower than it. If you have to take STAT 210, take her for sure! Show up, participate, & practice and you will get an A.
In class tests are identical to practice tests. If you attend her lectures and pay attention, the textbook is not even needed (unless you need extra practice problems) 7 in class exams and attendance make up your grade meaning if you pass all tests and attend most classes you can skip the cumulative final. very knowledgeable and kind professor.
She's very knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. She will help you, explain things, she actually cares. 7 tests, tophat required, final optional & can replace lowest test score or tophat grade. It's statistics so you have to keep up, but her class is very manageable. Highly recommend.
Kimbrough is a very nice and respectful professor. She relies on the lectures, as that is how the whole stats department does, but she leaves room for students to ask questions. The only grades are 7 tests and TopHat, so showing up is definitely recommended. The material was easy and I passed with a A+ while not being great at math. Good choice.
I took STAT210 over the summer. never interacted w her personally but she always made herself available to those who needed help. lectures werent hers but of another vcu prof and they were eh at best. very test and lecture heavy but the final is optional/replaces all lower test scores which is great. not hard but you know how online school goes
The class is very simple and straightforward. Although it is lecture heavy, the content is not too difficult and there are many opportunities to get help. The tests are identical to the practice tests, so just doing them a couple of times can easily prepare you for the exam. The professor is very kind as well. Overall, great class!
I really liked Kimborough. I had her for STAT 210 and she posted all of the lecture videos on Canvas. Just pay attention and really take advantage of the practice tests, because that's exactly what the real test will have. She also has about 4 projects for the semester, but they're really just worksheets.
professor kimbrough is AMAZING!! she is super caring and very responsive to emails. she welcomes all questions and will do her very best to answer them. she truly cares about students' success. do the practice tests and you'll get an A+. HIGHLY recommend!!
One of the best professors I've had out of any class. Test questions are EXACTLY like the homeworks and class examples. She doesn't throw any curve balls, and tells you exactly what you should expect for things/what she expects of you. HW can take nearly 4 hours, but u have a whole week to do them. Very sweet professor and fun to talk to.
Wish I had gotten the chance to take her in-person class but I had to take the online course due to time constrictions. The entire course was watching lectures from a different professor. There were a LOT of tears during my semester with this class.
I really recommend taking her class in person! She's so nice and all her test are exactly like the practice test. She explains everything very well. You are only graded by her 7 tests, quizzes, and one project. Textbook is not mandatory but you should buy one because there's a lot of practice problems that will help you understand the material.
Professor Kimbrough is an awesome lecturer and is easily accessible. All her exams are very similar to the practice tests she provides before each exam, and the final project is simple. However, grading is heavily based on exams and final project. Each exam 100 pts, the final project 200 pts, and each quiz 5 pts. Earn 900 pts for an A!
The class consists of watching lectures given by a completely different teacher. Other than making the quizzes and tests and grading assignments, she does nothing.
The only thing she does is stand at the front and read off of powerpoints and then give quizzes to take. She can be flexible and really inflexible at the same time.
Online class is power point videos by completely different teacher read from the book. It was so frustrating. I didn't understand what was going on the entire semester and I cried a lot. :-)
The set up of this class was very ill prepared, the lectures aren't that clear to be honest and the course is graded on way too little. For a course this difficult, students should be graded on more to have a chance to get more practice and improve there grades. Honestly the videos from the other teachers taught me more than this class did.
I consider Professor Kimbrough as one of those math teachers that give you an entirely new perspective on math. They make you understand it so well, and they're so caring that it makes you remember why you love math so much. She is far from awful. She truly cares and will put effort into you if you let her know! She makes hard subjects easy.
This class was one of the easiest classes that I've ever taken. Don't let the reviews scare you off. The tests are based 100% on the lectures and practice tests, so be sure to watch through them and take notes. She is a reasonable & fair grader and will give you good feedback. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS, THEY ARE BASICALLY THE EXAMS BUT REWORDED!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Proffesor Kimbrough. Her lectures are amazing and very well taught. 10/10 would take this class again. She is super kind and caring as well. Tests are very similar to the study guides she gives and very clear. TAKE THIS CLASS!
You took 3 multiple choice 5-question quizzes per 2 weeks on each topic, At the end of each module, you have a test/exam. PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTES and do at least 2 of the practice tests before taking the tests if you don't know the info the tests can be extremely hard.
The class is based solely on on PowerPoints so if thats not for you this class may not work, I do think she is a good teacher and doesnt speak too fast and goes into more detail when explaining the PowerPoints. She leaves the power points posted so of you miss a class its not a big deal.
She's a really caring professor, and really went into detail on all of the excel things we needed to know for class. even when i missed so much class she reached out and got me back in with what we were doing, and I'm pretty sure her reaching out was the only reason i passed this class. You need to show up to know what's going on though.
Professor Kimbrough is so good at teaching and goes over slides at a slow pace so its easy to follow. Class is graded on 7 tests and lots of mini quizzes that you can take twice. She gives practice tests which are literally the test with different numbers. Super good at teaching and a really easy class as long as you do practice tests. take it!
I took the online class and although she wasn't the one giving the lectures, it was still manageable. Learn the lectures properly and do the practice test. The exam is what is exactly given in the practice test. With a little bit of hard work, this class is an easy A and I'm someone who has never scored an A in math before this class.
One of the best professors I've had so far! As long as you do the practice problems and study you're golden. Test and quizzes are exactly what's in the lecture/practice problems, so there's really no surprises.
Great professor, class is hard but if you do the homework and understand the material you will be fine. Also go to office hours. Professor Kimbrough is very helpful during and outside of class.
She is such a kind and understanding professor! She had really clear grading criteria, and while she graded really specifically, she did tell everyone exactly what to expect on tests. She also posts old tests as study guides that are really helpful!
The tests aren't hard, but they're a big portion of your grade. The textbook is optional for practice problems. She's really kind, and gets to the point--her lectures are always perfectly timed which still is kind of funny. The lectures are very in depth, kind of long but everything you need to know is there.
Lectures are thorough and provide all the info needed to do homework and pass the tests. If you miss class, the powerpoints of the lectures are online, as well as the class example problems with solutions.
Best teacher I have had. She is so sweet and explains things in depth. You do go over something new every lecture so if you miss a day it may be hard to catch up, but she always stops asking if anyone has questions. Math is hard for me, but she is the best math teacher you can get. Test heavy and picky with grading but tells you what she expects.
Explains concepts & answers questions in detail & thoroughly. There are 3-4 quizzes before each text, 7 tests, & an optional, cumulative final that will replace your two lowest test scores. Math is easy for me, so this class was easy for me. There are lots of TA's, office hours, & tutoring available.
Very caring professor, explains things in detail, and will answer all questions with patience. The class overall is very easy to succeed in. Doing all the quizzes and taking the practice exams basically guarantees you an A. She definitely wants her students to succeed and makes it possible.
She is genuinely a very caring Professor. It is highly recommended to show up for classes. Do well on the assignments; you will get a good grade! The class has assignments every week, so be prepared to spend a good amount of time working on them. If you are taking any math/stat course, be sure to take her classes, you will have no regrets.
Professor Kimbrough makes the class very manageable. The lectures are detailed, and she's always available to answer questions. Using resources like Unstuckstudy along with the practice tests really helps prepare for the exams. An easy A if you stay on top of the work.
Dr. Kimbrough is a fabulous professor. Hearing how difficult this class is from others and my advisor, she ensured we all understood the material well by frequently asking us if we needed repetition. She offers partial credit when taking exams. You will have many problems every week; it may feel overwhelming, but you have two HW drops.
I took stats in high school so this class was really easy for me. I didn't attend most lectures and just took notes on my own. I recommend buying the textbook for the practice problems, that really helped me prepare for tests. Dr. Kimbrough is very accomodating; she allowed me to take a test early when I couldn't make it.
Overall, Professor Kimbrough was a good professor. Made sure we understood the material and was open to questions. There are extra credit points for exams, and you are graded on multiple things. The only thing about this course is the long homeworks that take up a lot of your time and take up much time to complete.
She is super nice and the class had all of the materials you need to succeed.
Lots of cushion and leniency when it comes to grading. Dedicate time to HW as they're very heavy and some will take 3+ hours, which is expected from doing by stats by hand. There is an easy group project towards the end of the semester as well. Kimbrough is great and I enjoyed her class and recommend it (not like there's other choices lol).
Great professor and takes her time with students to make sure they understand the material. I am taking her again for STAT314
the goat very easy class
Her class is pretty easy, just study the lectures and practice tests and you should get A's. Final exam is optional, which saved my life.
