Fun teacher, a bit late sometimes, but you learn a lot. She's lots of fun for a new teacher and if you don't understand something, she will review it again with you. test at the end of each chapter (easy if you paid attention) and mastery quizzes throughout chapter (easy)
She is a very fast paced teacher, if you miss one of her classes, you better review the work otherwise you may end up with a bad grade! Homework is very straight forward but I found the class to be a bit hard.
This professor is great. She really takes math and makes it much more understandable. She really wants to help out. I love math now. I used to be so frustrated. However, Professor Kincade used different and easier approaches to help us learn. I feel a lot more confident about my math skills.

she is great very helpful and understanding. she makes math fun. test are easy and homework is kept in a notbook which check at the end of sem.
awfull awfull awfull races through everything. no time management. does not know how to expalin the work. only uses simple examples. i had to get a tutor to pass her class after getting a in prior math classes
ms. kincade is an awesome professor. our class was a little rushed because it was only 50 minutes but other than that everything was great.her apartment building/happy people method is awesome. she really wants all of her students to grasp the concepts. i don't feel as imtimidated by math anymore.
She reminds me a lot of Ellen Degeneres. Not that she acts like a lesbian or anything, but that the way she talks and her humor, sometimes, reminds me of her.
She is thorough, very helpful and supportive, always seems hyper and stressed but teaches well. Do your homework and in combo with her reviews you should be fine
She's a great teacher, she's very fair, and pretty clear about things. If you work in her class, your final grade will reflect that, even if your test grades don't.
Very hard to follow. She knows her math, but has difficulty conveying it to students. Seems nervous infront of the class. Sketchy notes and even sketchier to follow
wonderful teacher, will be taking her for my nest math class.
Took her for 1033 and taking her again, she has to be good, She is clear, will take her time to explain things. She gives great study guides for her tests, she tries not to make anything hard and succeeds. If she was teaching Pre cal and trig..I'd take her too..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
awsome teacher, all test were take home, very straight to the point, and goes over homework in great detail
Half our test were take home. Extra credit on all test's. You get 15 points twords your final grade just for showing up to every class. Take this teacher SHE! makes math EASY!!!!
I agree with some of the comments, she knows her math, she just does'nt convey it really well. She will try to help you out though after class.
great teacher
I LOVE HER!! LOVE HER! For the first time in ages I got a B in a math class. She is so willing to help and if the class isn't getting it she'll go over it again. She explains things OUTSIDE of the book...which is great if that is how you learn. She crazy awesome at math. LOVE HER. Tests are easy...and class is super easy to follow
shes a really nice person but as a teacher she doesnt really explain all that well

the best teacher one could have. This is my 2nd semester with her. Just very nice, very sweet & very easy! She'll do anything to help you learn. If you don't like math, take her. It the subject is difficult for you, take her. I love her and wish I could have her for Stat's. Highly Recommended !!!! Best Math teacher on campus!!!!!!!
Math has always been a very hard subject for me, this teacher is not only a great teacher but also easy to understand . I will take her again if i can
best teacher ever. If math is hard for you take her! Very nice, very sweet, very good teacher. She really cares about students. She'll go over the material 100 times till you get it. I've learned a lot. This is my second class with her and I get all A's. Must take her. I recommend! the best on campus!!!! She's is amazing !!!!!!
very easy, i hate math but she makes it fun and she gave lots of take home tests and she understand that math is hard, so she does everthing to make it fun and EASY! she alos gives extra credit
I hate math(most of us do) but she made algebra as easy as she possibly could. She broke things down -baby barney style- I will definitely be taking her for college Algebra. TIP: Make sure you do your homework it helps you study for the tests. HIIIIGHLY RECOMMENDED! A+++
Gives partial credit on tests. Very nice and super smart. Take her. She goes over everything and makes sure you understand things.
Extremely sweet and friendly. At the beginning of the semester, she really took her time and handed out tons of worksheets and notes. Then she rushed through the last sections. Every did poorly on the last few exams as well. Not too hard, though. Gives extra credit. HW is a MUST. She demands a notebook with HW, test, notes. Good teacher.
all the study guides are just like the test. and she breaks EVERYTHING down to baby bites. all you have to do is the H.W and you'll pass the class!
Wonderful!
She is one of the best professors in Valencia for math. I took her twice for intermediate alg and alg. I would have taken her for a third time if her section wasnt closed.
awesome teacher, very understanding and helpful. easy class
The best teacher I have ever had! She is so helpful and takes time to make lots of study sheets and practice tests/exams to help her students. Take her, you won't be disappointed.
Professor Kincade is an awesome professor. She is very patient and does not get frustrated when you ask questions, she instead take the time to make sure each student understands by his or her own learning style. If there is something you just don't get, she takes the time to make sure you grasp everything before moving onto a new subject. A+++++
Knew her stuff and was very willing to help. The only negative was that she over explained sometimes. Prepared numerous work sheets and practice tests. Helped me to pass the comp test first try. Highly recommended!!!
I think Kincade is great. The best Math teacher ever. I've had other math teachers and I ended up dropping their class. This teacher is unbelievably amazing at what she does. She acyually cares about the student.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She explains everything beautifully so that everybody learns. She won’t give a test if she feels that some of the class still doesn’t understand the material. She really has a gift for teaching math effectively so that it’s easy to grasp. I highly recommend her!
i hate math and don't understand anything about it.. but Kincade explains everything really well and will do so until everyone gets it. she's great and i totally recommend her if you suck in math. she always gives an extra credit question on the test. and i've managed to get an A on all of them.. i wish she was teaching my next math class!
she is awesome!! she explains EVERYTHING clearly.. easy class! :)
This professor was nice but she didn't know how to manage time. Barely gave you your work back. She had way too many classes on her plate and gave way too much homework. I didn't learn nothing and I feel like I deserve a refund. I wasted my time and money. She didn't prepare me for college algebra at all. I am going to be lost for college algebra.
she was a great teacher!! She would go out of her way to make sure you understood what she was teaching. great teacher!
SHE IS A GREAT MATH TEACHER--SHE DOES GIVE A LOT OF HANDOUTS. HER HANDOUTS WERE BETTER THAN THE BOOK. STUDY FROM HER HANDOUTS AND YOU WILL DO GREAT--BEST MATH TEACHER AT VCC
Best Math Teacher Ever! Her notes are very helpful. If you have problems in Math I would definately take her. She has a different type of teaching style which makes it a lot easier to understand. Very Fair and helpful!
good proffesor. she might seem like she is a lil complicated but at the long run she makes sence and things get easier. you get bonus for being in class so take advantage of that. She is good.
This Professor is very helpful and she will work with you until you get it.
TAKE KINCADE!
I took Ms. Kincade for 1033 and College Algebra. She is very smart and a very good teacher. Really one of the best professors I have encountered in my time spent at Valencia. She always made herself available in her office to help with homework, plus made time to review again in class. If you truly try, there is no way you can fail.
GOD BLESS THIS PROFESSOR!she is the best and will bend backwards for you to understand the material. she will break math in a way you never imagined. there is NO way to fail her class.
nice lady. she wants everyone to pass, she lets you use CHEAT SHEET even on final which is good! counts homework and an organized notebook VERY MUCH! and gives bonus for perfect attendance. goes a little fast though BUT drops one test! good teacher veryyyy smart!
kincade is a great teacher! i completely hate algebra and was horrible at understanding it, but i got an A in her class because of her GREAT teaching methods...i totally recommend her! :)
Kincade is awesome. All you need to do is try. She wants to help you. Don't give up on math because she never gives up on you. This teacher is as good as gold. Wish all my classes were taught by her.
She a really good teacher if you just try in her class you will pass with flying colors.
TAKE THIS HER CLASS. i took her for bus. calc and got and A. she is sooo EASY...EASY you can not fail. plus she gives take home test, a cheat sheet for every test, and EXTRA credit. she knows the subject and is a great help. TAKE HER CLASS I CANT STRESS IT ENOUGH.EASY...EASY...EASY!!!
She can't teach Calculus. Plan to teach yourself EVERYTHING with the people in the math lab. The upside is that the class was structured for you to pass, so I got a B. Notes for tests, take-home tests, etc. I hardly learned a thing from her though, might as well have put a monkey up there. She's smart but can't teach for anything. Get a new career.
she was a great professor for Algebra. she really wants to help out the students but you might feel rushed at times but she is on a short time limit to teach everything. I made an A in her class and studied for it. The class is not too hard but you will have to work a bit like most classes. She is a good professor for Mac 1105.
I think she probably would do better at teaching higher level math classes and not intermediate. Overall she is a good teacher as far as her personality and the fact that she allows you to use a small cheat sheet for every test. She talks really fast and most of my class just stares because they aren't sure what she just taught the class. Bummer.
I took Professor Kincade for the fall 2008 and I really liked her. Really nice professor, gives 10 extra points for perfect attendance and HW book appointment. Her test aren't so easy, you have to study, but she allows you to bring a quarter of a page as your sheet cheat to every test, and a full page front/back to the final. Best prof. for MAC1105
First off if it hadn't been for me taking a course similar to this one in high school I would be completely lost! She goes at a fast pace and if you can't follow you will be left behind! She does allow you to bring cheat sheets to the test but what good is it if you don't know what your doing?
Had her fall of 09' and she was straight forward about everything always eager to help and answer questions about anything. i thought she was pretty easy her exams are exactly like the practice exams she gives you and she gives you extra credit for attending class even though its not mandatory
I took her MAC 1105 class in the short summer session and it was a lot of work but she is the fisrt teacher to teach me Math so well! She is helpful, clear and really cares! Gives extra points for effort.
Prepare to teach yourself! Her explanation to everything is this is how I learned. It never clarifies anything. She does allow cheat sheets for test, if your lucky enough to guess whats on the test to use it. NOT RECOMMEND!!!
She is a really great teacher. You do have to do the work and if you make an effort she will help you. She works really hard to help her students do well. I took 4 classes with her and did really well eventhough I dislike Math.
I would not recommend this teacher. She moves very fast and does not explain things well at all. She allows you to have a cheat sheet for the tests but they aren't much help. The tests are extremely difficult (she doesn't make them herself, she uses a test generator)! The questions are much harder then anything she does in class. DON'T TAKE HER.
Very challenging course; however, manageable with dedication. I thought she was a caring, explained things clearly, and was very professional. She's willing to help students and is very understanding. I would take her class again in a heartbeat; I really enjoyed learning from her. Thanks Amy
Prof Kincade is an amazing teacher. 1st let me say that she really CARES if you learn. She explains different ways to get the answer. She understands people learn at different paces. She encourages questions! Even though she teaches quickly (Summer 6wk course)she will go over problem types if the class has questions before moving 2 next lesson.
For each section she does an overview to refresh your memory of previous skills that relate to the new material. She gives a review prior to each test to help u study for tests. Also gives 1 bonus quest on test. You can use a "cheat sheet" (handwritten, 1/4 sheet) for each test. She also gives take home quizzes. Awesome Prof who want u to suceed!
Had her for int. Algebra and made sure to take her for College Algebra. Explains Algebra in a way that's understandable to someone who isn't a math genius. too many math prof assume that since they get it you should too. Kincade understands math isn't easy for everyone. well-organized with extra material on the internet incuding reviews for test
Great teacher! I took her for busn calc over the summer and managed to squeeze out an A. The subject itself is somewhat confusing but she does a great job explaining it with clarity. She moved somewhat fast but that may have been due to the summer session. If you show up to class and copy everything she writes on the board you will excel.
She is an amazing professor, easy, explains all concepts until the students learn and makes sure she tells you what is on the test. She allows you to use notes on the test and gives multiple choice. If I could have a professor, I would have one like Professor Kincade, amazing!
This is one of the best math professors I have ever had. She is so good at explaining the concepts. She makes test reviews available online, a lot with her written solutions. She gives extra credit for having a good notebook and for not missing more than 1 day of class. She gives credit for showing your work. There are mostly multiple choice tests.
She is AWESOME! She started the class slow to help the class freshen up on our math skills. She was good about slowing down when it seemed like the class was not getting the material. There's always bonus questions on the exams! She's always willing to help if you ask or come to her office hours! Exams are always similar to class examples,no tricks
She's AWESOME! She started the class slow cuz many of us haven't taken a math class in a while. Slowed down when she felt the class wasn't getting the material. Always bonus questions on the exam, exam questions always similar to problems done in class, NO TRICKS!
I completly hated math when i started this i ended up with her because i had to retake 1033c. She explains in multiple ways and then you can choose what fits you best i have actually learned in this class and plan to take her next semester for college algebra. Sha also gives extra credit for several things. I recommend you take her.
She teaches as if we're all naturals at math. When in reality I've never been good at math so i WOULDN'T advise her. Also she wont give you full credit on tests problems even if you've guessed the right answer. Must show work.
She is a great teacher. She really cares about her students passing. Only thing I did not like about her was that she spoke so fast. Gets annoying but you get used to it. Easy A!
Very good Teacher and her test are not hard as long as you do the homework's you will be fine. Very easy B, not a hard A!! Good Luck
She is a great teacher, but very hard.
She allows you to use a notecard with notes for the test. VERY helpful professor and prepares you for all tests. Opportunities for extra credit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I loved Mrs. Kincade. I always struggled with math, but I took this class as a flex course and got a B. Extra credit for attendance and a notebook. Dropped the lowest test grade. Half sheet of notes for the test& you can use them all for the final. Good at explaining things differently that make sense! Helpful during office hours
PROS: Cheat Sheets. Attendance EC. Doing hw is EC. Taking notes in a book is EC. You can use all 6 of your cheat sheets on the final. 2 of the 6 tests were take home. CONS:....
Any math class is a struggle for me unless the prof does not explain every little thing when they are teaching. Prof. Kincade does just that! She also has a lowest drop test, and lets you use a notecard --but I never find myself needing the notecard. Basically do the hw , review and practice test (p.t. exactly like test) and you will be prepared!
Sweet lady, but it's something about her teaching that has me lost. I always found math to be super easy and never received nothing lower than an A, but after taking this class I'll be fine with a C.
Mrs. Kincade is fabulous. She does lessons in class and if you have any questions, she answers them. Lots of Extra Credit: HW, Attendance, Test Questions Etc. and allows note cards on tests, plus 2 take home tests. When teaching concepts she also explains how and why we are learning it and how it is used in the 'real world'. I highly recommend. :)
Great professor, study guides are a must to pass the class! Hard to fail if you show up to class, take notes, and do the study guides. straight forward like clockwork.
Professor Kincade didn't answer emails and I had to ask my brother for help with my homework, because I didn't understand what she had taught in class.
This is my second time taking Prof. Kindcade. She's knows her stuff and explains it really well, but the course is slightly rushed because it is a tedious course. Otherwise, she's great. 1 drop test, lets you use a notecard on the test, and Practice tests are exactly like the test. Like any college course you must put in work. Take her!!!
just follow her study guides , and you will be fine.
Professor Kincade is AMAZING! The only reason why i received a C was because math really isn't my strong suit but she is super helpful and will go over anything that needs to be clarified. Tests are a little difficult so you NEED to study. Quiz's come often so prepare.
Love and would take again!! I personally have a hard time with math, but this teacher takes her time to explain the material. She gives you study guide and tells you what will be on her tests the best part is you are allowed to use an index card for your tests and on your final you can use all the index cards that you have made.
Doesn't answer emails, and her lectures goes by VERY fast, and she does not repeat anything you might have missed. If you have a hard time with math, do not pick this one, as she shows no empathy if you don't get it on the first try.
Very forgetful, not easy when you ask for help.
The class is one where you MUST do the work to get the grade you desire. No sugar coating, the homework is a MUST. The only complaint I have is that the lectures are incredibly fast and she tends to go off subject for long periods of time but she is incredibly informative and smart. However, that being said she is fair at grading.
Best math teacher I have ever had! Best class structure EVER: No homework. Your grade is the tests (There are like 7 or 8 but the lowest test grade is dropped, and 2 tests are take-home). All I did was go to class, make sure I understood the material before showing for a test by using the book's practice problems and EASY A! (not to mention EC)
Let me just say math is a nightmare for me no matter what I just can't get it, but with Kincade that was not the case. I loved her teaching style she explains everything and answers your questions. She makes math easier to understand. You can use index cards on her test and finals. Hw is optinal and there are test reviews. Wish she taught pre calc
Walk into class on the first day and Professor Kincade says this is my first time teaching Calculus I so, we will just plan everything as we go. What? One thing you do not say to students and then and there I found out I made a big mistake choosing her to teach me Calculus I. After the fourth test in students started to drop like flies.
Professor Kincade is an excellent math professor,I honestly hated math before taking her. Her lectures are very informative and she allows an index card of notes for each exam. She drops the lowest test grade, so that is awesome. You must show work on tests to receive credit, but if you get it wrong you can get half credit for showing your work!!
In the beginning she seems like she's going to be great with her long lectures that are pretty detailed but as the course goes on she starts to give less details, rushes through lessons, and crams unprepared tests.
Prof Kincade, is phenomenal! She is sweet, intelligent, and has a funny side. I love her Happy Monday, Happy Tuesday. etc I learned a lot from her, and also enjoyed her class even if it was a 2 hours long and met Mon-Thur. She is very efficient in her lectures. 6 Exams, Drops lowest one, Can use 1 note card on exam, fair grader, and give EC!
Stay away from this class. She's a good person but as a teacher not so good, she will try to explain how to solve a problem but will get sidetracked easily and won't explain nothing. She only grade the test which are super hard and nothing of what she teach appear in the test, even the study guy is different from the test (not useful at all)
She is a very nice person, but she is very hard to get a hold of outside of class, you can leave multiple messages or voicemails and she won't get back to you. She has a different way of teaching math, she really only goes over the content, she does not give you any time to practice in class. She just shows you how to do it and expects you to learn
Book regurgitation, test generator (which is always horrible), and test that are so hard that when you're done you're upset and frustrated (oh and which you don't finish). If your trying to maintain or raise your GPA DO NOT TAKE HER!! Way harder than it needs to be. It feels like she's weeding. I could go on and on. Just pick someone else.
Good professor. Explains and goes over material as well as lets you practice in class. Practice and do the review she puts up. Might not be exact but is 60-70% similar to the test since they are all from the same generator. Goes over the test before the exam and tells you whats on it so you study for it. Very fair grader.
She is a really great math teacher, she did'nt use mymathlab, she mainly used the book but you can use mymathlab if you want. I already knew most of the material because I took a similar class in highschool. She lets you use a notecard for tests and shes super chill. Kind of awkward but its a good awkward.
She is an awesome teacher and I learned a lot from her. She gives you positive feedback. If unable to understand a problem she will go over it in class and show you a different way. She also gives extra credit for showing your work and getting the answer. Grades don't get posted until the end of course but she'll show you how to figure it out.
Gives two opportunities to earn 10 extra test points by end of semester game changer. Lectures can get boring, especially if you know the material already. If you have a ALG 1&2 + Pre-Calc background from HS, you will be just fine in her class. Tests easy because she tells you what kind of questions there are ahead of time. She's chill if ur late
I had to drop out of this class because I was studying 10+ hours a week and still getting high Ds at best. Almost failed all my other classes because there was no time in between the piles of homework and the frequent tests. This class kind of ruined my GPA, and the prof. is partly to blame. Way too hard.
WORST PORFESSOR EVER!!! DONT TAKE HER UNLESS YOU WANNA FAIL
Professor Montague-Kincade was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Her teaching method made college algebra very easy, and I have always struggled with math. Homework was optional for extra credit, and students were allowed to bring a notecard into tests & exams. Stay on top of the work and this class should be easy for you!
Diff Eq is a hard class in general, but she made it as easy to understand as possible. Plenty of examples in class that are nearly identical to exams + quizzes. Just pay attention to lecture examples and this class will be cake. Also, she's a nice woman in general. Gave some extra credit and quick to answer questions.
A GEM. TAKE HER!!
Oh boy, where do I start? Lets start where you turn away and look at another professor. Because I am warning you now. Your GPA will tank, your mental health would go off the charts, and honestly you'll feel so dumb afterwards. You'll legit be asking "Why am I here? What have I accomplished after spending 3/8th of my day with her?"
I have taken other math classes and a variety of other classes online and this class just sucked. Her lectures are two hours long and she doesn't really get to the point or make sense. The homework is the only easy thing about this class along w/ being very old school. If you are a visual person, take this class in person or get a better professor
Shes the goat idc. Her lectures were amazing n she really cares about teaching.took her online. her exams/quizes arent proctored but she makes you turn in your work that has to be very detailed (makes you better at calc). SO much extra credit for just turning in your notes. We were allowed to skip the final if we were happy with our grade.
Be prepared she gives out a lot of homework. The layout is this, you do a worksheet and then a quiz and for both you have to show work and be very detailed in your work, so its not an easy class but she makes it 10x harder. DONT TAKE HER.
She's not bad, but you have to study hard for it as in general calc is not an easy class. Durable as long as you try your best by doing all of the assigned work and do the 30 extra bonus point assignments which is consisted of 15 Zoom note assignments that can help with passing the class. Be aware of the grading as she can grade in a bit picky way.
Worst online professor since canvas is loaded like no other, SO MESSY! All assignments require their own submission for work pages. Very time consuming for an online class. Basically does the most possible..I think the only good ratings she has is from people very advanced in grasping math knowledge.
You can easily pass this class. She gives you so many resources to succeed in this class. You can watch old Zoom lectures that go more into detail than the one-hour class. Calc can be used on exams, homework is time-consuming but helps you understand the material.
Craziest layout of canvas I've ever seen, & lots of HW, but professor is very understanding and passionate about Calc. Lowest assignment scores are dropped and 3 exams total. I highly recommend if you are good with virtual classes. The main thing is acing the quizzes and exams. If I wasn't taking a full class load schedule I would have an A+.
Professor Amy can be tough, but stay on top of the work and use resources like unstuckstudy to help with study prep. The class is challenging, but rewarding if you're willing to put in the effort.
Professor Kincade is a gem, a rare math professor who thinks deeply about how to best teach the material. Yes, the layout of her Canvas course is crazy and her lectures are 3+ hours apiece, but I never had to use the textbook as a result. Everyday I get sad that I can't take all my Calculus courses with her.
DO NOT sleep on Amy! She goes in depth with her lectures and I didn't even get to use the textbook as much because everything was explained well during zoom. Her Canvas course is full of resources in case you need that extra practice. Honestly one of the best professors I have taken. I wish I could take all my Calc courses with her!!
take her!!! she understands what it's like to be a student so she teaches in a way that makes sure you're prepared to do your assignments. she gives you so many resources on canvas, including past lectures that go more in depth. i barely had to use youtube to look for help. exams are similar to quizzes and homework and she offers extra credit.
Extensive recorded lectures and organized notes. Worksheets prepare you well for the exams. Workload is not too high relative to previous math classes. However, in-class lectures don't go into too much depth and have low information density. Attendance is not mandatory so find what works best for you.
Great professor. Thorough lectures, many resources, extended due dates, partial/extra credit, and drops lowest grades. Textbook optional for extra practice. Weekly worksheets take time but they help you so much on quizzes and exams (similar questions). She cares a lot about her students. Would definitely take her again for my future calc courses
Professor Kincade is great! Her style of teaching was amazing, she hosts her lectures online and records them. I never attended, watched them all later, and still passed. You have to do a lot of homework but they are graded on participation not accuracy. It's a decent chunk of busy work but she's actually so amazing and cares! Definitely take her!!
She is amazing. At first, Canvas is a little confusing, but once you get it, everything feels simple. Zoom meetings 2x a week, and recordings are available. There is a lot of work. She cares about you understanding the process, not just the answer. No Honorlock. I learned so much and feel ready for Calc 2. She is very caring and sweet.
