I just had to say how awesome Prof. King is. I had one of her classes last semester, and it was just great. Perhaps it is because she actually liked my seemilngly inane topics and ridiculous writing style. Either way, take one of her classes.

Professor King rocks! I just finished her Comp 2 class it was a great time. DO NOT take this class if you are a slacker, it isn't that the work is too difficult to manage but you do need to do it. Her material is interesting and she is IN NO WAY BORING.

She led a class that i really enjoyed. She always encouraged participation and often provoked very opinionated discussions in order to get the class into the material. Her approach works and I enjoyed her class very much.

Amy King is an excellent professor who is sarcastic without being condescending. She made a mandatory English class much more interesting by teaching through a variety of open class discussions, films, plays, poetry, and novels. I enjoyed the class.

Professor King is a very interesting professor who leads numerous different topic discussions that makes the class outstandingly great.

i think she's awesome... very critical at points.... especially when it came to "my click" but other then that i think shes sooooo cool... she shouldnt be a teacher... shes too cool to be one.. teachers usually suck ..ohhhh just make sure you DO your work..

Professor King rocks! I'm glad I stumbled into her class. And guys, she's a hottie

she was very easy, you can basically hand in your work whenever you want, thats even if you get any, ihad barely. sometimes we dont learn anything just talk about random stuff the whole time but she does teach enough for you to get a base of thecourse. fun project of making a kids book. PICK HER!

Prof. King is really nice and cool, but she gives wayyyy too much work, if you love slacking off she'll make your life difficult.

prof king was a really cool teacher,, however she does have a political agenda... if you're uncomfortable about some social issues, dont take her class bc she really pushes the envelope. otherwise, as long as u attend class, join discussions and do the work, ull do fine

She was a great teacher with a great sense of humor. Not a typical & boring Eng class. We had great discussions about many different things. The class is challenging and entertaining. I would recommend it to everyone!

She is a great professor and definately made an impact on me. She guides you without doing things for you and challenges you to think for yourself and come up with your own ideas. I loved taking her 101 and 102 classes and recommend them to everyone!

She was such an awesome teacher...tho we got off the subject of childrens lit almost every class...and ended up discussing gay rights and political views all semester she made it interesting, and everyone could voice their opinion...great teacher overall

Professor King is so nice. Outgoing and fun person.Her class is all about voicing your opinion on various subjects, shes so cool, this class is not your typical BORING eng101 class its exciting, fun and you are guarenteed interest! the hour and 15 minutes flies by! Enjoy her class fellow nassau students..i did it was GREAT!! I LOVE U KING!!!

I dont know whats up with the last guy with pms but Prof King is fair and keeps class going by letting students argue controversial topics. The work is pretty easy but gives students a chance to argue on paper and make their points. I like her and will definitaly try to take her for 102.

She's cool. Best part of the class was the poetry and the Laramie Project.

She is an excellent Professor. Do the work that she asks of you. Pay attention the test are easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention.I would send anyone to take her class.

I truly enjoyed the class. Professor King is funny and promotes class discussions. It was great that we all sat in a circle so that everyone can see each other, it's so much nicer than looking at the back of someone's head. The class was very relaxed, you could feel free to voice your opinons. Whoever said that she had PMS was probably a slacker.

She is an excellent professor! Sitting in a circle with us,she makes us feel important to her.She is very intelligent, interesting and funny. She's an excellent motivator for her class discussions, and makes you can't wait to go to her class. Who ever doesn't like her must be someone who doesn't belong in college at all. She makes me like NCC more.

She was an easy professor. She didn't attend all the time which sometimes was alright with me because I could use a break. She is a fun teacher and gets the class involved. 3 essays big deal they were 2 pages each. She even let me hand in an essay late she came up to me and told me don't take a zero and let me hand it in.

Interesting class - not what I expected. We read novels which was fun. Prof helps understand themes and likes to analyze a lot. Very helpful.

At first, she is a little difficult to get used to. Likes to challenge her students and provoke new ideas. By the end of the semester she was my favorite rofessor, extremely intelligent and a wonderful person!!

this was an awesome class. everyone works together (as a workshop) she taught this class very well. however, she will tell you to a buy the textbook and you will only use it once. overall, if you need english 316, or anyother english class, take it with her. =)

Very interesting class!! We had lively and interesting discussions. Time flew in the class. Just do your homework & show up.

she can be a little difficult when grading your papers, but other than that she was cool. she was also absent A LOT, which was awesome.

well,well,well what can i say about Professor king..... i can say that she is absent alot sometimes its pretty good but can become very annoying when you want to be there to actualy learn something.we've used our textbook like twice the whole semester we dont do any work

She is a very nice prof. The class usually ends up having conversations about everything but English. Crazy about participating, probably fail you if you dont. Homework is usually reading or an essay. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT ELSE SHE WON?T ACCEPT IT. Also she hates people that make excuses when they dont have their work. If thats you drop her class.

I love her. She's hilarious. She is a great teacher. I have her on sunday's and I think that the class is great. She hates cellphone usage and she likes work on time and absolutely would not accept it late. I'd definitely reccommend her. I might take her again for English 101 because I got a C in it haha<3

She's really nice! All you have to do is do your work and show up and you'll have no problems! She LOVES when people participate so if you like to talk a lot she'll really like you!

Good teacher, willing to help any of her students. Might be a little to picky correcting essay's. But if your looking for a good English teacher she is the way to go. You will learn in her class!

Best teacher! She can seem rude sometimes, but other times she is funny and really connects with the students. She really helps you with essays and its good.

Took her online class, not too bad, 4 essays, discussion and 1 page journal every week, can give an attitude to students if website doesn't work even though it isn't their fault.

I took this class online. She is a cool professor with a good teaching style. If you are a full time student the course load will seem a bit much. Overall it is not that bad. I would recommend taking her. You have to do 4 or 5 essays, weekly discussions, and weekly journal entries. It may be online, but you still have to do the work.

Professor King is a great teacher with a passion for expression. I will not say the class was "easy" but her teaching style makes you want to Write and that made the assignments easy to complete. I recommend this class- creative writing, with Professor King!

I normally do not have favorites, but she is by far my favorite professor that I have ever had. She gives phenomenal, out of this world lectures about serious issues we tend to neglect. She will also make sure that you pass her class no matter what! Her dedication is really inspirational, but I would expect nothing less of an excellent poet.

She is too feminist, I even have girlfriends who thought they were feminist themselves, but this professor is extreme at it. But it would be unfair to hide the fact that she is a helpful and good professor will always help you. So overall shes good. Just come to class on time and participate and dont click those pens. Really, dont click any pens.

Loved Professor King and even though I took her two semesters ago, I still love her. She is great. I'm an ESL student and for me to say that her class was the only class through my years of college that I ever felt confortable participating; I was not even scared to speak aloud in my heavy Dominican accent. That's a big deal for me people.

She is by far one of my favorite teachers I had at NCC. She allows you to truly be yourself and makes the class feel like you have known her for years. She is hilarious and will literally talk about anything and everything as long people are speaking to her back. I strongly recommend everyone to take her ! She's great

I love Prof. King. She is so funny and treats you like you are her friend, not her student. The class is so easy too all you do is sit around and talk about poems/short stories everyone wrote. She makes you feel comfortable and makes the whole class bond. She is so nice. Easy work too just do the stuff she assigns. Best class I've taken at NCC.

Enjoyed this class. Poems, short stories and dialog assignments plus responses to classmates in workshop. It seems like a lot of writing but is pretty fun. She shows you how to use political and pop culture in your creative writing. I'm a song writer so this helped me develop my ear.

She's a nice professor and pretty fair grader - write four essays and do discussion entries each week, learn MLA formatting, and argue your opinion on different issues like cyber-bullying, the Millennial generation work ethic, immigration in America and Tiny House movement. No textbook for online class.

I really enjoyed Professor King. We didn't have a textbook but she writes out really smart lectures on creative writing and why this is important to everyone, not just English majors. Her knowledge comes from being a famous poet and active published writer. I wrote some really fun unexpected short stories thanks to this gem of a teacher. Thanks, K!

Just finished online summer writing with this professor. Not demanding but you have to do the work everyday or other day. We had to read or watch videos, do grammar work, discussion posts, a few journals and write essays. Sounds like a lot but its spread out. She makes funny comments and readings are on modern day issues. Would take again. A+

Professor king, is the best professor. I recommend her to everyone who has hard times in writing essays, and need grammar help.

took women in literature. had a good experience with her. best advice to give you is that you need to hand in the work on time. don't take this class if you don't like reading, writing, or participating. she's very cool and hip. super smart and always has amazing stories.

Always lectures on interesting subjects and has us research unusual topics to write about like industrial prison complex, toxic masculinity, bullying, Millennial work ethic, cost of American dream etc. She lets you choose from your essays what you will develop into a research paper. She gives good feedback and is current on issues which is helpful.

She challenges us on current events and topics and has us write on them (like connect literature like Huck Finn to current issues related to immigration). She's not a tough grader but be sure to know how to use MLA formats - points off if you don't do it correctly. I enjoyed this class -

Professor King was one of my best English teacher so far. She supported and encouraged me a lot throughout the whole semester. She will assaign you 3 take home essays and few writings. If you do well in first take home essay, teacher will appeal for you to move 101 class. That way you can complete you 001 and 101 in same semester. Good luck.

I took ENG101 as my first online class at NCC. Professor King was great. T/Th Discussion post, 3 essays and 2 short assignment. I enjoyed the class.

Awesome professor. Makes everything clear and my writing is much better. I liked the poetry part of the course the most. Recommend!

Shes sweet and funny. Very easy going and understanding. Shes respectful to you as long as youre respectful to her. Super strict on having phones out!

King is an AMAZING English professor. Had her for Comp. 2 online. Easy A if you're willing to put in the work (which isn't unreasonable). Answers emails promptly though grades assignments late and rarely (if at all) gives feedback. But that doesn't matter because she's a pretty easy grader. Honestly one of the best prof. as NCC. Highly recommend!!

Compared films to short stories. Looked at themes. Prof is knowledgeable and had us consider concepts like tropes and plot turns. I'd take her again if I wasnt graduating.

I had Professor King for the Fall 2019 semester and she was a great professor in my opinion. She was very clear about what she wanted, even though we did have a textbook we barely used it. She only graded us based on essays that really weren't hard. She did have personal family issues regarding her mother's health which lead her to be absent a lot.

Lots of creative lessons and interesting ideas about what it means to be a writer and have a career as one. I like her personality. She tolerates lazy students that I would kick out. Do the work, learn a lot.

Not gonna lie, log in every week and do the work on time. Its not hard but she wants everyone to interact and talk about the topics she gives. You research and write essays on them to. I liked some more than others. Teacher is funny and cool.

I liked the films and the stories, pretty smooth writing about both for essays. Class discussions are helpful for the essays. Just keep up with discussions and get your work in on time.

Prof is fun, gives good films and readings, likes to talk about challenging subjects. Race, gender class. Be ready to show your critical thinking in class discussions.

Be in on time, do the assignments and talk in class. Youll do well. Professor holds class discussions and they count for your grade. I like the reading for class.

Prof King is great took her for ENG100 (remote) and 102(online). she gives good reading assignments about gender, race etc. which made it interesting to write and discuss. she expects for you to give your opinion not google it. there is no wrong opinion, she does give an attitude but just do her work, participate and you will pass her class.

Occasionally has an attitude but easy teacher overall. Just do the work. And participation definitely matters

Online summer writing class with clear assignments and grading requirements spelled out. The discussions were interesting and build into essays. One essay was on giving your younger self advice which was fun. Two other essays, the last one you get to choose from several options. Do the work, post in the class, read and you will be fine.

She's really funny and assigns relevent topics of the day. I get why some dont like her but if you don't like her humor and topics, you will not do well. She looks at things like toxic masculinity and problems single mothers face - if you can't handle that, then you will end up avoiding the work and mad. Requirements are spelled out.Good luck all!

Work due every week, plan to write and submit online. Must attend and talk in class. Introverts have a challenge here. Still enjoyed the class because the topics are relevant to our lives.
