Awesome, helpful, cares about her students doing well. DON'T cut up in class. Keep talking and cellphone/texting use out of the class room. Pay attention and make an effort and you will do extremely well. Even those who are afraid of public speaking or have no experience at it get good grades.

Even through I am not to fond of taking speech class, and in all hopes that I pass, I would take Ms. Brackel's class over and over again. She is wonderful teacher, and her teaching skills are the best I've seen to help students over come the fear of public speaking.

Ms. B was an amazing professor. She truly cares about the students who try and show an interest in her class. If you do what she asks you to do, and try your best on speeches, you will make a good grade. Great sense of humor also. I wish she taught other subjects as well. Oh, do not text during class. Very big no-no with her.

She's very cool. Speech is definitely not an easy class, and it requires time. Follow the rules, be on time, do your work, and you'll get an A. Don't go in there with excuses and attitudes, because she gets mad (justifiably might I add)

Great teacher. I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal about the cell phone rule. It's an hour and a half get off your phones!!!! You'll live. Besides, it has nothing to do with her teaching style with is very efficient. Take this class if you're not a slacker who cannot unglue your cell phone from your hand or your het from your head!

Mrs. B is a great teacher. She cares about your grades and she tells you how to improve. If you put forth effort and do the assignments and quizzes on time, you will do fine. Just don't use a cell phone! I highly recomment her :)

Ms. B is great. I did really well in her class. Why? Because I went to class, did the extra credit, and asked for help if I needed it. She is always there for her students. She has simple rules which are no cell phones, don't miss class (gives extra credit if you dont), and be on time so that you don't interrupt others...SHE IS AWESOME!!! Take her!

I like Ms. B. Some of the losers in class got in trouble for either (a) coming in late, (b) fiddling with the cell phones, or (c) sleeping in class; everybody else did just fine. Of course nobody likes public speaking but Ms. B grades fairly, and the assignments weren't very difficult (besides overcoming stage fright).

BEST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER GET!!! Our entire class becoming one giant family. You will learn a lot and see progressive in speaking publicly but overall she cares about the class. I missed a speech and she still gave me the A.

I learned a lot in this class. Ms. B is strict and expects you to read the chapter. Prepare for your speeches, show up on time and pay attention. She challenges you, but you get better with every speech. Tests are online, but they are very easy. If you take the seven week course, keep in mind that you will be doing a speech EVERY week.

Ms. B is the best. She will help you in any way that she can. She is very approachable and also commands respect. You can't help but love her teaching style and helps you with your fear of public speaking. She is also adorable. Very sweet.

Wonderful woman, she is very kind, helpful, and offers many opportunities to gain extra credit. I'm not sure what the others are talking about with the requirement to read the individual chapters, it was not a requirement for my class at least. Once again, take her, she is a very kind, understanding woman, she can be strict on her policies though.

I was terrified of taking a speech class. She is a really good teacher though and she will help you get through it. There really isn't much to be afraid of when you get in there, I highly suggest this teacher for those like me who are scared of giving speeches. She is awesome.

She is awesome and I would definitely take the class with her again. The class is not fun, but she makes it fun. She is strict on attendance but is willing to work with you if you have a legitimate reason for not attending-- court, military, or doctors.

Ms B. is awesome. The classroom environment is so comfortable, that by the end you feel like you know everyone around you. Her topics are really interesting so the speeches are actually kind of cool to write. She doesn't like phones. tardiness, or interruptions so watch out on that. Overall very awesome teacher.

Class is easy. She is willing to help if needed. She is a pretty cool teacher. The attendance policy is awful. The lectures are really boring. But the class is an easy A so i would take it. just go to class and spend at least some time working on your speeches and youll get an A

Speech is one of my better subjects but she offers information that is both clear to those new to the subject, and interesting to those with more experience. She is laid back, and makes it a priority not to have a negative atmosphere so everyone is comfortable in front of the class giving their speech. Take her, you won't regret it.

What a gem Mrs. B is. Like many people, I was terrified to take speech class, but she made the class easy and fun. The attendance policy sucks, but coming to class will seriously help you for your speeches. Don't take speech with anyone else! She is a great teacher but you MUST be there and you MUST participate! She incorporates some impromptu activities at the end of most classes that you need to do to get all the points. She will work with you when you have a hard time speaking, as long as you make the effort! Speeches: intro, soap box, informative, persuasive, and special occasion.

Mrs. B gives so much extra credit. She goes through the rubrics and specific instructions clearly and throughly during lecture and gives you plenty of opportunities to ask questions. All Mrs. B demands is participation, attendance and your effort. She's an awesome and caring teacher, very funny too. I enjoyed this course with her and 5 classmates:)

Ms B is a funny and kind teacher. She does expect you to do your work, be in class and try. I had some issues this past semester and she worked with me and helped me out so I can still do well. Just do your work, STAY OFF YOUR PHONE and try, that's all she asks.

I learned so much from Ms B and this class! I appreciated all of Ms B's help. I felt bad for her because there were a few really immature students who were really disrespectful to her. She doesn't put up with messing around in class or disrespect, she will kick you out! Do what you are supposed to, put phones away and work on your speeches.

Loved her! I had speech with her and its a class where if you respect her sh will respect you. Put effort into your work she can tell when you don't. Attendance and participation are extra credit and trust me its worth it. I had a B average with out it and when she added it in I had a 94% Very easy to get a long with if you dont sass her.

Easy class, packed with fun assignments. Sometimes Speech with Ms B can be a dreary recap on the prerequisite classes for Speech, such as ENC1101. She dumbs down the MLA/APA format, so that when you do it correctly, you're doing it wrong, according to her. Her class is otherwise a breeze.

Daytona State needs to make clones of Professor Brackel because she that great. She leads her students with ease and you will have learned from the best

Attendance is MANDATORY! You can only sacrifice a few days to miss in order to get a decent grade. Also you must do every single speech. If you miss one you are in big trouble. Overall the class isn't to difficult. And the professor is very clear.

She is a really fair grader!!!! You will know exactly what she expects, and if you follow her outlines you will always get an A. Public speaking is not easy, but she showed us tricks that really help. Go to class. get a used text book as the online disc does not get used.

Ms. B is an amazing teacher! I'm honestly baffled by the negative reviews. Show up, BE ON TIME, turn your cell phone off, do your work, participate, practice your speeches and you should do just fine. She doesn't give tests and only springs pop quizzes if your class is being unruly or disrespectful (this never happened in the class I was in).

Took her Speech class (not online). She helps break the class out of their shell, and become confident while speaking. She understands that gaining confidence and adapting good speaking habits is a learning process. You won't fail miserably if you mess up one of your speeches. Learn from it and DO YOUR WORK! She genuinely cares about her students!

If you do all your work and follow her directions you should be ok. Can appear chaotic with her close due dates but ultimitly it will make you a better writer and you will be able to deliver speeches better. She allows extra credit which will help you out.

Brackel takes her class very seriously. At the begging of the semester you choose a topic to write about for all of your speeches. this class is a perfect example of "you get what you put in" so choosing a good topic is really important and follow EVERYTHING in her rubrics.. lol my topic was why weed should be federally legal and I received an A.

Genuinely an incredibly sweet and caring professor. If youre having trouble shes happy to talk to you and give help/advice. Takes the class seriously, as long as you participate and dont procrastinate or show up late (she wont let students in late) you should have no trouble getting an A.

I absolutely loved Ms. B! I learned so much in her class. I took an accelerated course so it was a little fast-paced, but as long as you participate (and don't procrastinate) its an easy A. I would definitely take another class with Mrs. B!

I took Ms. Bs online class this summer. A term. Shes great. She gives good feedback and grades assignments promptly. She is a fair grader. She really provides a lot of extra PowerPoints and guidelines to review, beyond the text book, to make it easy to understand the content. Im so happy I picked her because I was afraid of this class!

I took this class with Ms. B. after bombing it with another professor. Thankfully, Ms. B. cares about her students and is passionate about her teaching. I am so glad I had Ms. B for speech. She has a way of working with you and helping you get through your anxiety of giving your speeches in front of class. Took a tri-honors back to back course where I was completing 3 courses at once and still that didn't match the amount of work this class has. I spent more time writing speeches for this class then learning trigonometry and doing my capstone project for the tri-course combined.

I LOVED Ms. B! I was afraid to take this class as it is public speaking but I am so glad I did! She gave very clear instructions and was so kind and hilarious! She was always available to help. Only assignments were speeches and discussions for feedback of classmates. She gave every student a chance to voice their opinion on their topic!
