I absolutely loved her! i never went to class but she was very helpful. she likes to give second chances and she was great at explaining the material. Shes very nice and the best math teacher i've ever had!
I absolutely enjoyed being in her class, she made sure that all my questions were answered and if I didn?t understand she talk me through the problem. Very easy on test take, and all the homework was through my math lab which made it easier instead of obtaining the text book. I really enjoyed being in her class.
very helpful and understanding
Amy is awesome. I found myself liking algebra and doing well in the class (I have always hated math), I feel that her clarity in explaining the concepts and use of MyMathLab for all assignments is the reason for my success in the class.
I took her class online, she was there anytime I had a question. She try her best to inspire her students. Also, gave extra notes if she notices the online videos are not enough. I would recommend her if you are welling to take an online class. Just make sure you finish all your assignments timely and do the exam reviews.
WONDERFUL TEACHER/ACCCESSABLE OUT OF CLASS, THE ONLY THING NEGATIVE IS THAT THE ENTIRE CLASS IS MADE TO STAND UP IN FRONT OF CLASS USING A WHITEBOARD THAT CIRCLES AROUND THE ROOM. SO IF YOU ARE SHY, DONT STUDY OFTEN, ARENT GOOD AT MATH OR HAVE BAD KNEES, BACK, OR HIPS, SKIP, YOULL BE STANDING THE ENTIRE TIME WRITING PROBLEMS IN FRONT OF THE CLASS.
Lectures had pertinent information missing. I often found myself watching outside videos for better clarity in the subject. I asked for help multiple times and she just said make sure to take notes and do homework, which I'd done. Questions on tests are ambiguous at best, I never knew which form she wanted the answer in. Awful experience.
It doesn't matter how well you do in class as your final exam grade determines your overall grade (wasn't disclosed until 2 wks before the final.) What's the point of trying so hard then? SO much homework. She had a hard time explaining concepts, which made it hard to learn. I have never failed a class until now. Disappointing experience!!!!
She isn't a great teacher & it may be PC's fault for the structure of the class. Your "lectures" are 5 - 10 minute videos created by someone else, she doesn't go over the concepts just makes you write problems down on whiteboards, she gives a test at the beginning of class & gives it before class even starts so if you're on time SOL be early.
Don't take her class if you struggle in math, she relies on video lectures to teach us concepts but then tells us to do it a completely different way then the video did & doesn't explain it thoroughly. She is more of a tutor then a teacher. No feedback, she doesn't go out of her way to help you if you're struggling. Just recommends tutoring...
I learned more about algebra then ive learned before and she made it easy to understand ! really easy going teacher that doesnt move too quickly
This class was not the easiest or the hardest. I enjoyed the instructor. She was very accessible outside of online parameters and there were several nights I burned midnight oil and had questions; I was never left hanging. Even one night I was ready to quit she helped me reign the stress talk back in and even cheered me on when i got tutoring.
She provides reading material and videos explaining everything for every lesson so as long as you follow the schedule its an easy A.
Amy responds to issues and concerns quickly and is caring. She wants to see you succeed in her class. the class is well organized and has a great time schedule. I enjoyed the class regardless as to how difficult it was for me but I felt greatly accomplished to receive a B. I would take another math class with her and recommend this course to others
I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED THIS CLASS (AND YES IM TYPING IN ALL CAPS). Theres nothing to say about the instructor really. It used videos and practical exercises, so there wasn't a ton of input from the professor. But she was nice! Having said that, it was a really complicated course that I recommend taking it in person instead of online.
Really good teacher that always gave me feedback promptly. Homework could get a bit lengthy but thats only cuz I would always leave it till last minute. You get multiple attempts at quizzes, so getting a good grade is easily attained, but you may have to put some time in.
Amy is very motivational, pushing you towards not giving up! She replies really fast to any questions or concerns. The class is a bit hard just because you need to be ready to have an open mind to understand every module. She is always ready to reply back on any concerns for homework though.
I really like Mrs Lambert. Math is my weakest subject and cannot stand it but she pushes you and does not let you give up.
Great teacher, very kind.
This was the first math class I have ever passed. The videos provided with each problem made it possible to figure out even the hardest modules. The expetatations are clear and quizzes and tests straighfoward. Keep up with the work and you will succeed!
The class is online but Professor Lambert was always quick to respond to any emails or messages sent to her. She also updated announcement almost daily and was constantly encouraging students. Overall, despite being an online course I felt Professor Lambert was more interactive with students than most online courses. She's a great professor!
Standard online course with standard deadlines to meet.
Amy is an awesome instructor. If you have a question, she gets back to you right away. She explains everything clearly and if I ever need a math class again I would hope that I could take her class. Excellent instructor!
There is so much homework on mathxl!! You must stay on track and make sure to know when assignments are due. Get ahead to succeed. Lambert responds quickly, if you don't understand something make sure to ask and she will make things clear, loved about her.
Work ahead so you can study and finish earlier. Read reminders and comments/messages. Dont fall behind on homework (20-35 questions each). Overall good teacher
For an online course, I did not expect the professor to be as easily accessible and as friendly as she was. Amy always responded quickly to emails, even at insane hours of the night and she always provided a plethora of information to help me through the problems I was having. If you're taking a course through PC, I highly recommend Amy Lambert.
The class itself has a lot of work. If you struggle with math this s NOT a class to take online as you will need more help understanding. Also, do not take this as a summer class as it is only 8 weeks and is very fast paced. However, the professor is AMAZING! Very insightful and actually sends text reminders of ALL assignments and due dates.
Professor Lambert was very helpful! The class material was challenging but do-able. I would definitely take her class again!
I love the Motivational Quotes, I love the fact she would give us daily reminds. The communcation was great give us best practices to exceed in the class
Professor Lambert is AMAZING. I was nervous to take accelerated MAT206 online but I am so glad I did. She is quick to respond to questions, takes time to explain, and truly wants you to do well in the class. You have to do the work and study, but if you're consistently showing your best effort she will go the extra mile to help you.
Clear and straightforward. Homework and practice test went hand and hand with test. Missed my time for final and was able to still complete my final through ProctorU despite needing an appointment a week before.
I liked her lecture, even If it was online I found her as an Inspiration, to continue the class further.
The class is online and the Professor wants way more then any other online class I have taken. You will have to download an outside program, Minitab. But cant use it on midterm "maybe on final". Lots of use of the book which wasnt really common in all the other online math classes previously taken. You will need to take pics of your at home work.
Miss Lambert is a great teacher :) she shows us what to do in Math and we understand what to do. Sometimes their easy and sometimes it gets hard but but youll get used to it.
I had never taken a math class online, or ever taken statistics in my life. Professor Lambert made this class so easy and straightforward. Policies and procedures are made very clear. Im terrible at math but I am getting an A. Great class and great professor overall! Homework and lecture can be hard, but youll survive!
I loved her ! Her style of teaching with interactive notebooks were so helpful. Easy to reach , she was available out of class if you ever had questions. After class we had the chance to get any work we were missing. Her lectures were clear and well understood. More math instructors like her please!
Overall, great class and teacher.
Professor Lambert is a very fair teacher. Everything that is expected of the student is laid out in the syllabus. I hate math but she took the time to help when I was struggling even on weekends which I was not expecting.
She's great. Gives plenty of reminders and the reviews are all relevant to the final and midterm. Notes help
Overall, great professor and class.
Keeps you on track using the app remind which i really liked. Even though the class is online i felt as though she really cares about your grade compared to other online classes i've taken. Test are proctored which i thought i was gonna hate, but made me study harder.
This class requires logging lots of time on the computer. But if you do the work and study for the exam you should pass with ease. Teacher was very accessible and helpful.
Great professor ! Recommend taking her class. She truly cares for the her students and is willing to do anything for her students.
Professor Lambert went above and beyond to help with reminders for assignments and was always available to students. You can tell she is invested in trying to help students succeed.
Shes awesome. Always sends reminders for assignments, quizzes, and is super helpful!
She is a real teacher, down to early and extremely encouraging. This was an online class for me. But this professor was able to establish relationship with us. I must have messaged her 80 times over the semester and she never made me feel awkward for it. She often sent encouraging messages to our class to keep pushing forward. Gr8 teacher & person
Professor Lambert is tough on grading. Do not expect any chances at improving scores from her. I experienced a technical problem while taking the proctored final exam. the diagrams needed to complete problems would not appear and Professor Lambert refused to take exception to the problem I encountered.
This professor assigns a lot more work than other math courses Ive taken. Not only are there a lot of assignments, there are also written discussions you have to participate in with required word counts. No extra credit offered.
This teacher assigns so much work, but your final grade is determined by only a few quizzes and the exams. The modules featured often repetitive, and lengthy numbered problems. She also makes you write essays meant to be inspirational, but that take away from time you could be practicing your math. Definitely would not recommend.
Amy is a wonderful teacher! This class is not very difficult if you keep up with the work and study. If you do those things you should do great in the class.
I really enjoyed taking statistics online from Ms. Lambert. It was a lot of work, but if you keep up, you will do fine. Also, you will not learn everything from the lecture videos, so you will have to use the textbook, which you can access for free. She sends inspirational messages all the time, which is nice and makes it seem like she cares.
I was a little hesitant to take an online class over the summer, let alone a math class but I'm glad I did. Professor Amy is an amazing. The modules she assigned were all neatly organized and it was easy to stay on track. She is great at responding to messages, even on the weekends. I highly recommend taking her!
If math is a weak subject for you I would not reccomend taking a course offered by this professor. Ms. Lambert is test heavy unlike other instructors at PC and your grade will be determined solely by how you test. The coursework is intensive and repetitive. She also is quite rude and unapproachable when you need help.
1. Great teacher 2. Always helpful/Understanding 3. Available after hours 4. Late passes beneficial
Ms. Lambert is a great teacher. Even though its online class and I did not meet personally she was always there helping when needing to and also reminding of what is due ( which she doesn't really need to do). There is homework and quizzes every week-- read notes and watch videos and it is pretty easy to learn.
There are many helpful and caring professors at Phoenix College. Ms. Lambert is not one of them. If you encounter any problems taking a test and address one of these problems with her, she acts as though she believes you are trying to manipulate her.
This course featured lengthly chapters with repetitive problems. The professor required students to write full length, graded papers about inspiration and not giving up on yourself. These papers took away from time that could have been used to study for tests as the teacher did not really teach anything.
Awesome class. Get ready for a lot of homework just as long as you keep to the schedule and do homework everyday youll be fine. Professor is very helpful and responsive to messages if you need help!!!
She was responsive to my messages and always willing to help. In the midst of the coronavirus, Professor Lambert checked in with students to make sure they were doing alright, and provided us with meditations to help with the panic. She cares. The hurtful reviews on this page were from students that didn't want to put in the work for this class.
Everything was perfect
Took MAT206 online I would suggest to stay on top of course materials. If stuck on any question do not hesitate on emailing instructor, she was a big help to me through the semester! Login daily start working homework by parts will get overwhelming towards the end of semester.
Ms. Lambert appears to be enthusiastic about teaching, but she doesn't seem to really be able to teach. If I had questions about problems she would react as if I just didn't want to do the work. Be prepared to be talked down to if you are having trouble grasping things.
Prof Lambert is an excellent instructor! MAT 206 was tough (math is not my best subject), but Prof Lambert was encouraging and genuinely seems to care that her students succeed. I actually felt a bit sad that the class was ending! If I ever need a math class again, I'd love to take her class. Spend time to understand the work and you'll do great!
Honestly she is good at explaining math problems IN PERSON, only! She took the time to meet me, explained the problems and gave me printouts but then COVID-19 hit. She is not good at answering questions online but tried the last week of class. If you struggle with math and need explanations, don't take her online class. In person would be best.
I enjoyed the class and loved how we were encouraged to get ahead. The assignments were easily accessible and graded in a timely manner. There were 3 exams that were timed and we had to write down our work and submit the paper afterwards.
MAT141 in an 8 week time frame wasnt too bad. I got ahead as much as I could which allowed me to finish the class a week early. Professor Lambert consistently offered help, more videos for knowledge on the chapter and reminded the class about upcoming assignments that were due. Im not confident in taking another math class online!
Great class! This was my 2nd time taking statistics, based off of my experience, you will need to put in the work to get a good grade. What made this class different for me was the resources I was given and the help I received from Professor Lambert. If you try in this class, you can expect to succeed.
I took MAT206 over 2020 Summer during Covid, so idk how much, if any, changed based on that. The class was broken up into lecture, including notes and the book, HW, Quizzes, and then Exams. The way it was taught was through her Notes and online video supplements. There was a lot of HW, but because of that I felt I received a grade I earned.
Accelerated summer course. Textbook is free & online. Lectures are all taken from other people on youtube. Amy sends daily reminders & motivation via email & text, so the class is impossible to forget about. She is super responsive via email & forum. Quizzes and homework are retakeable for study purposes, so if you work hard you can get the grade.
I took Amy's class online over summer she while I did not need much help during the class due to the exlant material I always felt like she was available to help me.
I enjoyed taking this class! The class provided enough information to ensure my success. Professor Amy would share videos, tips, and even resources to help each student succeed. I was never good at math but did very well in this class. I felt engaged during this class which helped me to feel motivated.
Amy is a pleasant teacher who puts much effort into making sure the class goes well. She responds quickly to questions & sends reminders out to complete work. This online class was very straight forward. The homework ties into quizzes, which tie into exams. Plenty of opportunity to learn & correct mistakes. Getting an A is not all that hard.
Easily, the best professor ever! I took her over the summer and although Covid made many things difficult, she was persistent and never gave up on me. She will check up on you if you begin to fall behind. The lessons were heavy in reading including textbook, PPNotes, and videos. See them and take notes and you will pass! An unforgettable Professor!
This teacher is a nightmare to work with. When presented with my questions, she was rude and dismissive. "How do you not get it?" How do questions like that help me in any way to understand the concept? I dropped this course to avoid a semester of hostility.
Id definitely recommend this teacher and course!! Its a hard class but is set up easily online. Professor always responds quickly and helps you work the problem so you can find the answer yourself. She also sends daily motivation which is really nice!
MAT 206 as a online class. All work was done through a website. This left little room for error when typing in answers but she was always willing to go over your work and give you credit back if you did the right steps.
Professor Lambert was a huge help throughout this semester. She uses the Remind app which is great for remembering due dates but is also a tool to reach the professor quickly and directly. She was always available and ALWAYS helpful, personable and patient. For this subject, that's so important. I'd highly recommend her!
I came into this class extremely scared of failure since I have never been great at math. Professor Lambert has been amazing at giving us feedback and lots of examples (which is the way I learn best) she gave us helpful lectures and is always checking up on us. She truly cares dont hesitate to take her class, see for yourself.
Take this classs!!!!! The format that this class is set up online is extremely helpful. You have a lecture that explains concepts with examples. The homework is unlimited tries so you are able to get 100% and get practice until you got it down. The quizzes are based on the homework. For the exams you get to use 3 notecards and it is very helpful.
At first it seemed it was going to be overwhelming with the amount of assignments, however, have to consider it was a summer class. Have to stay on top of your work so you don't fall behind but you can work ahead. All material is clear, easy to follow, and chances to retry. I enjoyed this class, wish others were this thorough.
I loved she was available at all times. She even answered me back once at 9:30pm when I was taking a quiz!!!
This is one of the best professors Ive ever had. The material is challenging but if you do the homework and study guides you should end with an A. She emails students regularly about their work and provides material that is relevant to the exams. I definitely recommend this professor if you want someone who cares about their students.
I have never been good at math and I was so afraid to take this class because I thought I would barely pass. Professor Lamberto made this course super easy to understand and was always there to help us when we needed. I wish I could have her as my teacher for other classes. Highly recommended class and professor.
She explains the math problem very well. She is really clear with her instructions and give examples to help you understand the problem. She is really sweet teacher.
We were required to do a project based off our income we had to get 60% or we immediately failed the class. We had to do these random dumb Discussions that had nothing to do with math but also required a 250 word minimum with perfect grammar or received a 0. Final Exam doesn't allow notes only 3 3x5 cards. I hated this class. I don't recommend her
Loved how exams were objective based. It really was helpful to know what was absolutely necessary to learn.
A great teacher overall. Clear explanation of the material and plenty of opportunities to AK questions and receive help.
This class was not bad at all, I implore more people to take this class. That's it.
The opportunities you have with the Objective Testing give you the chance to continue to learn and grasp concepts and be able to revisit tests you may have not passed at first, all through the semester. The instructor also gives ample time to turn assignments in late, lots of work but its a fast online class, so its expected! This class was great!!
Wonderful teacher. Explains everything in great detail and does not make you feel bad for asking questions. Felt very comfortable in class. The homework, and practice objectives, and the way everything was set up for preparation of the exams was so efficient and the professor was always available outside of class to answer questions. Loved her.
So much work to do in this class!Teacher is rude has snarky attitude when trying to help& makes u feel dumb. 1st half of semestr is a personal budget project using actual receipts of what u spent for a month PLUS ur other work.If you don't pass the budget project she'll drop u. Also have four 250 word essays to write. DO NOT TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR!
This professor is very clear of her expectations, encourages us to speak up about our mistakes so she can address them, and is courteous and respectful.
by far the WORST instructor I've ever had in my college years. Avoid this teacher!!! This class was a nightmare. If you have questions about a math problem, she answer very rudely and makes you feel dumb. If you earn an A from all quizzes and homework, it doesn't matter at all! you have to pass her midterm/final or she will drop you carelessly.
Prof Lambert makes concepts easy to understand and gives wonderful feedback and advice!
Professor Amy Lambert is excellent; any questions I have or need any assistance quickly responds and is very helpful. Although the quizzes and exams might be overwhelming, they are easy to understand and well made. Glad I was able to have professor Lambert this semester.
Lectures are very easy to understand and correspond to the homework, quizzes, and exams. She is very communicative with updating the class on important due dates. Thank you Amy!
Let me remind you, this teacher is the WORST! She gives you lots of work and you have to learn everything by heavy lectures and videos. If you ask a question. She will rudely smart back and make you feel dumb as F***. If you arnt that good at math. Dont sign up with this teacher! Shes really difficult.
She took time to make sure all my questions were answered, and her response time is incredible. I'd post something in the forum and sometimes less than 5 minutes later it would be answered. You can tell shes passionate about what she does, and truly invests in her students. "Objective Based Learning" is for me, since it allows you to retake exams!
This teacher is so hard!! She doesnt care if your struggling. Half of these reviews are fake. Dont bother taking this class with her!
She's a good instructor and knows her math, but I started falling very behind in this class because of my lack of motivation and mental health. She won't give you any extensions for ANY reason lol, only on particular things but even then. I wouldn't recommend Amy if you are a procrastinator, struggle with your mental health..
Don't take this class if you struggle in math because this won't help. The exams are worth 75% of your grade and are timed. You have multiple homework assignments most week days.. I tried my best and I still failed her class. This is the first class I've failed. Everyone told me to drop the class but I didn't listen so now I am telling you.
I'm taking pre-calc w/ Amy now and this has been one of the best math classes I've ever taken. She's very responsive online if you have any trouble with problems at home. In class, she takes her time carefully to go over homework problems she knows are going to stump most students. Her grading is fair and she seems very passionate about her work.
BEWARE she wants her students to fail! I had multiple students complaining that she was leaving negative feedback on our budget project. Its worth majority of your grade, and most students in her class didnt pass. This instructor is horrible.
Forget asking her questions about math or help, she does not help at all and has like a snarky attitude when responding. So many lectures and big assignments and exams, don't take this class if you struggle with math and have a busy schedule it takes all your time. I would not recommend, she is not the nicest and her class is awful and stressful.
She doesn't care if you fail. Don't try emailing for help. Her reply is short and doesn't give you an example. She won't let you do make-ups. The workload is insane! try mastering 16 units in 5 tests and learning everything from a youtube video. yet still having to come in once a week to get an attitude because you still don't understand the math.
The class was not easy. It did require lots of homework. I spent on average 30 hours a week on this class alone however I felt I learned A LOT and did well. She wont force you to study tho. She expects you to be an adult.
She is quick to answer questions, provides many different tools for learning, and is fair.
Shes really awesome and she also helps you a lot
This was the best math class I have ever taken, both in person and online. If I had a question, my teacher was quick to respond as well as ensure I understood the answer. She is an amazing math teacher and encourages you to continue no matter what.
Professor Lambert's class was a pleasure to participate in. She was always quick to answer any questions I had. I felt prepared for my quizzes and exams. I would recommend her class!
If you ever need help don't hesitate to ask! The teacher is very nice and responds as quickly as possible. No matter how big or small the question is just message her.
Professor is awesome and extremely fast on replying to emails. Course itself is hard. You have to put in your full 100% otherwise you will have difficulties. Lots of assignments and homework. Professor will work with you. Exams are hard but is based on your homework's. Quizzes and homework are retakeable, so if you work hard you can get the grade.
I have taken previous Math courses at this college using the same Moer system and this professor literally almost made me drop out and, I had a mental breakdown within the first 3 weeks.Way too homework for a 3-4 credit hour course You will have 20+ assignments done by the 2nd week of class and they will be due in the middle of the week.Never Again
Class is structured amazingly. Only reason I got a B was I forgot to do some assignments. Easiest summer course. Anyone can pass, and you can actually learn so much. Entire course is based off an excel sheet she has where all information is clear and she even has her own videos up. One of the best class I've ever taken.
Amy Lambert helped me learn a lot, she was always on top of every and always communicated with me thoroughly.
This is a great professor she takes her time to respond to you very fasts when you need help she also will explain what to do if you need help and provided you with extra help resource to makes sure you can pass she also allows note cards for in person proctored test.
Amy was great I loved her class. she is understanding and she will explain anything to as many times as you need she gives late passes, she is clear and straightforward I really enjoyed her class, even though I don't love math I understood everything.
Very helpful Many opportunities to succeed Excellent communication Explain what exactly you need to do
this professor is a good one to have for a first time college math course, however I do wish I would have been able to have more help when it came to the explanation of problems.
I took statistics online over summer. Too much HW, due too fast. Lecture Notes and PPT are redundant and you get points taken away for not writing exact verbiage on her slideshows. You go slide by slide and duplicate all the content plus do some of the problems onto a piece of paper. Not to mention it takes forever and is a huge amount of points
I want to emphasize to NOT BE SCARED TO ASK QUESTIONS!!! As long as you show your work she will be able to find your mistake and help your understanding. Also, the quizzes she allows you to take 10 times! This allows you to get extra practice in or raise your grade. Assignments are due throughout the week and you will need to stay on top of work.
her instructions are so long, that they say the same thing over and over in six different ways, if she could keep it short and sweet that would avoid having to read the same thing. she also makes her exams over 50% of the grade which sucks, her grading system and point system for homework sucks, all this class did was stress me out.
Was kind of rude to student and would treat you like you're dumb if you asked for help
Professor Lambert's class was a breeze. She explains concepts clearly and is always available to help. I used unstuckstudy alongside the course materials to solidify my understanding. Highly recommended!
I took 151 as a 12 week course. The course was fast paced. The lessons you do at home online, and she goes over the topics again in class. Usually there is group work and time to practice problems in class. She shows you different ways to work problems, and answers questions quickly. If you stay on top of everything, you will pass!!
She is a great professor. Her precalc class was set up very user friendly. Lectures online and practice in class. It was easy to maintain and she preps you well for exams. There is no reason to not get 100% on everything outside of the two exams. She gives you 10 attempts for each quiz which gives you plenty of chances to get 100%.
I have never been the best at math but she made it feel easy. There is a lot of work but it's easy to get 100% on everything except maybe the 2 exams since you are not able to use notes but even then, she provides a review for each of those exams that include almost exact examples that are on the actual exam. I definitely recommend!
She makes students feel bad and very strict on learning material
Amazing teacher! the course itself is difficult. In person she goes over the lecture video by doing question that are going to be on the test. Overall if you need help she always happy to help. Love her ambition and attitude !
Professor Lambert has been absolutely amazing ! She responded right away to emails and was very helpful and understanding when it came to technology problems. She provided resources for students inside and outside of class, and really listened when I had problems. Everything she does is to help us understand and do well, I greatly appreciate her :)
Her class is mostly setup as watching lecture notes outside of class and just copy and paste the notes to your packet. In class you use whiteboards to solve some equations. It's not bad just not a way I learn while also having to watch 1hr or even more hours worth of videos just to copy the notes is kinda useless if you don't understand it.
One of the worst instructors I've ever had. If your not to good at math then stay away from this teacher. Shes very hard and expects you to know everything. Shes very rude and wants everyone in her class to fail. I've asked many others how they were doing and majority didn't pass.
