Lund is an o.k. professor, lectures a lot but not boring either so you are able to stay awake most of the time, Has very light reading requirements so the class is relatively easy. Overall good class if you are interested in philosophy if you are not then you are wasting your time anywyay.
shes nice and all i just dont like how she makes her test. She bases it on your understanding, not on memorization. if your not good at that then dont take her, over all shes great though, shes super sweet :)
easy A class, but you actually learn too. shes really nice and pretty easy going. her tests are really easy too. over all a really easy class, but can be boring at times
the class was good... I mean the lectures can get a little boring but you can make it funby pointing your ideas out. She's very easy going and nice. The 2 paper s she asks you to write aren't bad at all, their actually not even that formal. She's an easy grader, and the test are very easy! I got an A and I never really studied. Pick her trust me!
Professor Lund is fantastic! She is young, fun, and full of energy. If you pay attention and participate in class, read the material, write the journals (which are not hard at all) you will get an A. She is a great professor and I highly recomend her.
If you like Philosophy you are going to love this class! She is a very nice and cool professor, makes the class fun and interesting. Even if you don't like philosophy you can take her to open your mind and learn reasoning skills. She also gives you "extra-credit" opportunites.
PROF LUND IS A WONDERFUL TEACHER. THE CLASS IS REALY HARD IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TEACHER BUT SHE WILL CLARIFY ANYTHING YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS ANNOYING!! LOL...IN A GOOD WAY. SOMETIMES THE SUBJECT IS BORING BUT SHE WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT RELATE TO SOMETHING FUN.
I hate philosopphy I find it pointless and boring... and the class is pointless and boring but Prof. Lund tries her best to make it interesting and is very helpful. She has pop quizes and 2 papers and a few assignments. She is a very good proffessor.
OMG! I love Prof. Lund. She is SOO awesome and very easy. I have heard so many nasty stories about other phliosophy professors but i'll tell you she's super cool. If u have to take this class i would certainly advise you to take her. Quizes are easy if you do the reading and the reading is short. Everything she gives use is kinda easy. TAKE LUND!!!
Good teacher. Take her
Prof Lund is a super sweet teacher. Her lectures can be boring, but their are certain aspects of her lectures that can be interesting. I highly recomend her if you can sit through long lectures ;)
She is a great teacher, took her summer class and I liked her so much I'm taking her for another PHI class in the Fall. She is easy, just be in class, do the work, read the chapters before class and you'll be fine. As long as you show you understand in your work what she has been teaching you'll pass.
She is wonderful. I fully recommend her, probably one of Dade College finest professor
best teacher at mdc kendall. simple. to the point. no bs. multiple examples to clear things up for the mental midgets. as long as you arent a fundamental extremist you should love HER class. if you have an open mind and two brain cells, you would love her class: and attendence would not be a problem
Good professor
Professor Lund is awesome! she is great. Very helpful and clear to make her class. If you like, enjoy thinking and practicing reasoning skills you'll love this class. You don't need to stress in this class. You can relax, sit back and just enjoy about having Dr. Lund with you.
SHE'S ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I'VE EVER HAD!
This Prof. is great, no lie the class is so fun with her. She is extremely nice, helpful, and is always there for you. Take her and work hard too and you make it with an A. without a doubt. Trust me on this is Prof. is of the chain.
best teacher ive had ...easy funny understanding and extremly helpful..never did any extre credit but still got an A take the class ...but the subject is a lil hard but shes the best
VERY FLEXIBLE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. WHAT IS VERY IMPORTANT IN HER CLASS IS TO DO EVERY JOURNAL FOR EACH CHAPTER. YOU WILL DEFINITELY PASS THE CLASS WITH THAT. DOING THE JOURNALS IS A ENORMOUS HELP FOR THE TEST. SHE DOES MANY ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE INTERESTING AND FUN.
Very clear to understand, attendance doesnt really affect your grade, but i would recommend going because the actual course is a bit challenging. But she makes it easy and clear to understand.
Mrs. Lund is a very intelligent and carefree person. She's precise and to the point. Do your work and earn the grade you deserve. She loves class participation, and journals are a must DO! She allows u 4 free absences so use them wisely! GREAT TEACHER!!!
To be honest, the course is a bit challenging. She is a great professor though! She goes over most of the chapters that she assigns. She gives you several extra credit opportunities too! Take her, she is one of the best at her jobs.
getting an A average during the semester its not hard because she will basically give u some papers to write and they are not hard, but if u dont do the assinged readings, then when it comes to the final u'll be all lost and ur average can drop very low, so for this class u need to read....
Prof. Lund was great! Her class was super fun! She really likes when her class participates. Your grade is based on 3 Papers, a couple of group assignments and a Final Exam. She goes over most, if not all, of the chapters she assigns. She really knows what she is teaching; she makes you think too! Take her! You won't regret it!
this professor is not only the smart but she is an awsome teacher. she makes class veryinteresting and fun. she is very intelectual andexpands your vocabulary.. great teacher!!! take her you will learn alot, oh and yea shes great with remembering her students names
this teacher is dope!
Great teacher. Understanding, entertaining and gets the class involved. Pay attention in class and you'll get an A.
She is very sweet and smart, you will learn in her class and will actually enjoy if you're into philosophy. The class is not an easy A you must do well on all the papers and the Final exam is pretty hard but she helps you a lot so it's not a problem. She's a great teacher I recommend her
i have NO idea why people like her. I sit in the front row and it is so hard to stay awake! what are you people thinking???!?!
great professor. starts off slightly boring with method of arguments, but really picks up as the class continues
Dr. Lund is a very caring and good professor. Philosophy is only confusing if people are not interested. I found it kind confusing with the study materials, but Lund clears it up for you in class lectures. So only take Philosophy if you're interested and pick Dr.Lund.
HORRIBLE CLASS she mus learn to work on her speaking skills, it's hard to concentrate when you feel you are being talked down to. she is a procrastinator in EVERYTHING she does doesnt teach at all just restates the books. and everything you "learn" is common sense. this class shouldnt exist, philosophy shouldnt exist
She is straightforward and as long as you follow directions you will be fine. Her papers are easy. Just make sure you do all the readings and always take notes because its all in the final. If you do what you are supposed to do including the readings.. its an easy A.
Good teacher, EASY A or B. Helpful, clear and understanding professor. Do her extra credits, helps big time!
Very interesting class; very well presented. Gets the students involved in conversation and ethics debate. Awesome!
AMAZING!
This class was amazing! Pick her any day over Professor Fink!
Awesome professor. Very helpful and makes class interesting. I would recommend her to anyone.
At first i hated her but by the 4th class i started to understand her better and she ended up being a great teacher i hated the subject and never read the chapters just did the work and got a B in the class =)
Very good teacher, always willing to help her students. Strict about attendance, class is easy if you pay attention and do your work definitely recommend her!
Awesome professor! Out of the two text books she required I was only able to buy one, and with just paying attention in class (taking notes, which really isn't necessary) and participating I passed with a B, totally recommend her!
class is boring she talks a lot and she does not let you out a minute early. tests are not that hard cause she goes over them and you have a group project and a paper to do so overall she is OK!
She is so awesome and friendly!! her class is sometimes boring but sometimes it gets really heated which makes the class really interesting! attendance is a must and just a warning done use your phone! she is awesome but you take out a phone and you have triggered a bomb! but she will help you so much!!! like a lot!! MUST TAKE HER!!
she is vry nice,if u email her she will repnd quickly, evrytime i had a question i would emai her and she responded right away.there is only 2exams and a group assignment.she helps you in anything.i took another prf for this class and it was horrible,i luv her, i was able to go to class and be focused b/c she is a great prof.i recomend to anyone.
AMAZING TEACHER!!! Definitely recommend her to EVERYONE!! She is very helpful and she cares about her students. She is strict with attendance but gives you 3 free passes. If you want a class where you can understand and participate in the class then this is definitely the class for you!! You will definitely enjoy the class and learn a lot!
She is incredible in what she does, very interesting class because she knows how to make it interesting, really smart girl. She would help you in her office hours. The class is not hard at all but still you will need time to do an assignment and prepare your part in a debate group. Totally TAKE HER !!!!
Not a tough teacher at all! Not a lot of assignments or work. Answers anything you ask. Only problem is the material is very difficult. She's amazing.
Dr. Lund is amazing! This semester was my second time taking this course. She gives every student the opportunity for success if you complete the assignments and attend class! She keeps this class interesting and it has become my favorite! Grades fairly! awesome online print outs and power points too! AWESOME TEACHER!!!!
She is a really nice teacher. As long as you do the work and study you can get an A. The final exam I have to say was hard eventhough it was online and open book. Lots of reading for this course. But she is helpful when you need it.
Took her for spring sem. She is so easy. she says you need the book but you can make copies or borrow it you dont really need it. she is clear and organized. Only thing im not happy with is her grading. She takes FOREVER. Final exam isnt that hard its online. Suggest you complete study guide! It helped me!
This class is not easy. If you are a slacker do not even bother. For those who are on the opposite side of the spectrum, the professor is a godsend. Super clear and concise. The material gives you a headache but she takes the time to explain it. Assignments are all online and she gives you adequate time to complete. Taking her next semester. Woot.
This professor rocks. She's really nice, has a great sense of humor, and really knows her material. She will make you interested in the subject matter. I took her blended class and passed with an A. Her assignments are very simple, however, if you're into the habit of skipping class often, don't even bother take her blended course.
AWESOME professor. She is super smart she knows her stuff shes very very sweet and helpful. Dont be intimidated by her though even if youre wrong shell find some way to make the student feel like he's on to somthing. Too technical on some parts but overall i liked her.
Made Ethics very interesting and fun. Great teacher who explains things as many times as she needs to in order for her students to understand. As far as classwork and homework, everything was pretty smooth and easy as long as you pay attention and do everything that is requested of you. Service Learning is not mandatory, you can choose a debate!
She's awesome!!! loved her!!! everything is super easy, quizzes were online, and a debate instead of service learning. couldn't get better!
Highly recommend her if you want an easy A class! Great teacher.
Extremely helpful and cares about her students. She makes sure that students understand what she is teaching and is available after class and during her office hours. She is understanding but emphasizes due dates and tests. her power points are awesome and her tests come from her lectures and the book. Pay attention!!!
Great prof. Dr. Lund has reached paragon professor status.
Professor Lund, is very nice. She has great sence of humor. I learnt a lot and will definitely take her again. Don't take her if you all about easy grades and you don't like to think . She grades very fairly and I passed with an A.
She is one of the best professors in MDC hands down. Class was interesting and she is very fair with grading. She like Jim Jones "Ballin!!!"
She is great. I am currently taking her blended class. She gives two test and you have the option of service learning or debating. Her syllabus seems over whelming but stick to it, it's a great class. The test are open book and she gives you a study guide the first day of class. I absolutely love her, wish she taught more classes in my major.
AMAZING TEACHER i recommend her. The class only has a few essays and she can help you if you get lost, really nice and funny, you can get along with her.
Professor Lund is great! She talks relates her life with her two toddlers to philosophy and its pretty funny. 3 essays, 2 short one long/ Only test is a cumulative final and if youre taking a blended class it's online and its open book/notes. Loved her! Blended class was not difficult at all. She answers emails right away! Take her!!
she is soooooooo funny!!! really sweet!! i would take her again if i could..the two test are online, and one presentation either about service learning or a debate...just go to class and learn its VERY interesting and her family jokes=priceless..love this lady!
Professor Lund was great she makes it clear what she expects from you. Work is manageable. Def. recommend her.
Wonderful professor! She is serious about attendance and keeping cell phones away. She makes this class interesting and do-able. Guaranteed A if you do all the work, readings and attend class. Choose between a debate and service learning presentation. You must give effort, but she is not a harsh grader. I loved her stories and she's funny!
Excellent professor. Sweet, very helpul, fair. even though philosophy class is not very interesting for me, she makes it really interesting. I highly recommend her.
She makes me want to become a philosopher. I took her for two classes and got A's. She is very organized and really cool. Take her if you want to learn and enjoy learning.
not an easy class she doesn't teach at all spend 5 on attendance 35 min on the philosophical question and like 15 min explaining what is spec ted for that week by the time she gets to the power point class is over i don't recommend her lots of talking but no teaching you have to read on your own
Great professor! I would have taken her again for Critical Thinking, but I can't fit her in my schedule.
She's an amazing teacher. She gives assignments with a good amount of time to do them. Must chose between Service Learning and a Debate project. Tests are online through Angel and are open book and open notes. I highly recommend her. This is my 2nd time taking ethics I'm confident I can pass this time. Takes her time with grading but always finishs
Easy class. One thing I did not like was that it was blended. I like seeing the professor often in case I have trouble with something. Using Angel is HORRIBLE. It is confusing and in order to find certain folders you have to click every where to find what you need. She gives you the choose of doing a Debate or Service Learning.
Dr. Lund is amazing!!! She is super funny. Its hard not to pass her class. You have either a debate project or you can do service learning. Either both are very easy. She explains everything and she is easy to contact. I HIGHLY recomend her!!!! Attend her class do her homwork and you should be good to go! :)
Great professor she is just amazing I loved her class and her methods of explaining.
She's a great professor! Keep up with the work and you'll do fine :)
She is extremely nice and understanding, very easy going teacher. 1 test and a final, took her in 6 weeks and it wasnt bad, just do your work, totally passable.
Blended Course. Do most of the learning on ur own.Midterm consists of choosing btwn a service learning project (essay, discussion posts, powerpoint) or debate(essay, worksheet, powerpoint).Final is online.for final its helpful to complete study guide n print debate articles.responds to emails.grading takes long. attendance mandatory.don't use phones
This class was definitely one of my favorites of the semester. Professor Lund always makes the lectures fun and very informative. She will go the extra mile to help you pass the class, considering that her C grading scale goes as low as a 65%! So there really is no way to fail the class, just pay attention and attend class. Shes awesome!
She is a fun lecturer, and really get's you thinking about things. Her tests are not hard if you have read the book and attend class. There are a few writing assignments, but they're fun. Really cares about her students.
She is great, I loved her class and everything I learned in it. She has a good sense of humor and is willing to help you is you ask for it. I highly recommend her
Dr. Lund is a fantastic teacher. She was a philosophy major herself so you can tell she's passionate about the subject. All her opinions are biased and she looks at both sides of things to really get you thinking. Only two exams both open book and notes. She makes it really easy to pass and impossible to fail unless you try.
Organized. Clear. Punctual. Thoughtful. Pay attention to the lectures, participate, and write the short discussion posts twice a week. We had 2 exams (midterm and final) open-book and open-note. It was a great class, I learned a lot about philosophy and ethics. I'm taking her into to philosophy class in the fall, I'm def. Looking forward to it.
Prof. Lund is an excellent professor. The book is extremely boring, but when she explains things in class, everything seems a lot more clear. Don't skip class, read all assigned chapters, complete every single assignment, and you shouldn't have any problems getting an A. Two open-book, open-notes tests which were fairly easy. I'd recommend her.
Great Professor! Her class grading was based on a point system which made it great to calculate and keep track of where I was in the class. Consisted of weekly discussion boards based on chapters from textbook. An open book, open notes midterm and final. Recommend this class.
Dr. Lund never fails to make me laugh when im in her class. You can tell she loves what she does. Super easy to get an A or a B in this class if you do the work and your service learning project. Mid term and final exam are on blackboard. Offers a bunch of extra credit.
TAKE HER. TAKE HER. excellent professor. funny. extra credit. READ. READ. READ. very helpful. clear lectures. enjoyable class. fair graded. 8 blackboard discussion posts. 2 tests. great overall. best experience I've had at MDC.
Professor Lund is that awkward teacher who is so funny and nice. Her classes are mostly powerpoint but her lectures are very interesting. Do her assignments and you'll be fine. But put effort into the assignments because she knows if you took your time on it or not. She's awesome, nothing negative to say. I would take her again.
professor Lund is very funny and a cool professor that's willing to help you to her best ability, she sympathize with her students and gives a lot of extra credit. I took a blended class with her we had 8 discussion post, 2 test , 9 pop quiz online, and 1 presentation. Do not use your cell phone in class or she would deduct your Grade.
Only tests are open book/notes midterm and final (done online). Discussion board posts and replies every chapter, and one long paper. She gives plenty of extra credit opportunities but attendance is mandatory. Only needed one of the textbooks (yellow) Great professor, very funny and educated. Gives great personal examples for the lesson.
Amy Lund is by far the best college professor I've had, she makes everything clear and easy to understand you're passing a class and actually learning. Her humor makes everything interesting, her examples are creative and she is overall a unique and awesome person. I would definitely take her again! :-)
Her class is an easy A as long as you read the book and do all hw online. There are only two test midterm and a final due online. It will be hard to keep your eyes open and not falling sleep in her class . And don't use your phone she will take points away However, she is very helpful and gives extra credit. It impossible to fail this class
Boring, tons of assignments.... easy A but a lot of stuff, i dont recommend
Her class is an easy A as long as you read the book and do all hw online. It will be hard to keep your eyes open from falling sleep in her class . However, she is very helpful and gives extra credit. It's impossible to fail this class
Awesome professor the class just tends to put people asleep at times. great person and professor overall I highly recommend.
Dr. Lund is such a sweetheart. She really does care and she is very humble. You will have to read and take a lot of notes. If you do, you'll be just fine. Her mid term and final are online so when you start class, make friends people! It really does help.
(not going to sugarcoat anything ) she is a SWEETHEART very nice professor. did 12 online discussion boards, both mid term and final online, which were not hard at all. but YES the class CAN be a LITTLE boring at times because its all PPT with the lights off. I stopped reading the chapters after chap 3 and still got an A in the class
Professor Lund is a sweetheart!!!! OMG like you can not make this class so clear as she can. Most of her work is online, she makes everything clear. Her 2 tests are online, she is hilarious, pretty and down to earth. PS she's a Vikings fan so don't test her . I would take her again and again
BEST PROFESSOR EVERRRRR . I WISH I COULD TAKE ALL MY CLASSES WITH HER. SHE'S BEAUTIFUL, FUNNY AND CARES A LOT ABOUT HER STUDENTS . LOVE HER .
Discussion boards, some easy worksheets and 2 online tests that can be done at home. Do all of the discussions and do your best in the tests and you will pass. She gives extra credit opportunities as well. Don't slack and you'll get an A.
Great teacher. Take her!
I am beyond content that I chose her as my professor. She is so caring and so understanding. She is NOT the kind to be like "figure it out" she will guide you step by step whenever you need help. Test were not so difficult but you must read and be up to date with the lesson. I would take her again with no doubt. She knows what she is doing.
BEST PHILOSOPHY PROFESSOR! Made everything clear from test dates, class schedule, homework, and essay instructions. Her lectures are a little long but she really tries to keep it interesting and jokes around if you participate. She's very understanding. Her tests are straight from her lectures, book, and powerpoint. SHE IS A GEM!
Prof. Lund is a wonderful philosophy professor. Philosophy is not my strong point so I did struggle more becuase I took a blended class with her. Im sure if my class choice was not blended I woud feel more confident in this subject.
I took her at Spring 2017. The layout of the class were 6 feedbacks (heavily graded) based on reading material, 2 online exams (heavily graded)and random worksheet online. be ready to read a whole lecture book. She's organized with everything posted ahead of time on her syllabus. Her class heavily relies on Blackboard. not easy A but you learn a lo
Prof. Lund is enthusiastic about Philosophy. She brings a more interesting outlook to an otherwise boring class. There were 6 online essays (3 total graded, lowest 3 dropped from 3 sets), which if you could articulate, you got at least a C. Definitely not a simple class, but if you can study and stay focused then you should have at least an A or B.
She is a nice professor, but sometimes her voice make me sleep. You have to buy the book. 3 essays and 2 test on blackboard and prepare yourself to read.
If you're going to take a philosophy class take Mrs Lund's class. We all know this class can be on the boring side but she makes it interesting and fun. She's very considerate of her students and gives everyone in her class every opportunity to get a good grade.
SHE SO nice. LoVe her. 6 black board writings. Each one has to be one paragraph long and you have to respond to a peers writing as well. Mid-term and Final both online super easy. And your have to do 16 hours of service learning then do a powerpoint on it. easy A
Originally recommended to be by an Ethics classmate. She's super sweet and you have to do 4 essays for the blended class, although she really makes it a point to make class fun and intriguing. She doesn't just lecture but she'll tell stories as she goes along and asks questions as she makes connections from the things we learn to the real world.
Easy quizzes only on 2-3 questions so theyre graded heavily. Boring lectures. Tries to let you understand the process but is so hard. Philosophy is hard. 4 essays. Kind of a lot but no midterm or final.
This is my second semester taking Professor Lund and she is super sweet and nice. Her class is super easy! Just check blackboard daily and do all the quizzes and essays. There is no midterm or final overall amazing professor.
She is truly an amazing & caring teacher she will go out of her way to help you in any way she can to feel comfortable and respected and also creates an easy going atmosphere. Super easy 3 essays but she drops the last one if you do well on the first ones and a few online quizzes that you can find the answers to online.
Very good professor. Really cares about her students.
Such an easy class & shes so sweet. You can tell this professor is dedicated to her craft. Quizzes are easy & online (less than 5 questions) & so are her discussion topics. You will learn in this class!
Just take her. She is an amazing professor, if you don't pass with an A is because you didn't do anything.
She's a good professor. Don't skip her class though, at the end she will take 10 points off from your grade for each absence. She really gets you thinking, I wouldn't mind taking her again.
If youre aspiring to be a Philosophy major or looking to take some Philosophy courses. Pick this professor! She is by far the best of the many professors I have taken. Really kind and very considerate for her students. Youll have to do some reading occasionally but it pays off especially when you also learn from your fellow peers.
don't buy the book... class is simple, just show up.
Easy class to pass. All the quizzes are online and shes really easy to get a hold of through email. You have to do service learning hours but its a good way for you to help out your future career.
Truly great professor, I would recommend renting the book if anything you're not going to use it more than maybe two or three times. Her lectures are fun and don't feel like a drag. I would 100 % recommend her and would take her class again. There is a presentation and she even provides a template to help you out. Clearly passionate about Psych.
Dr. Lund is one of the most amazing professors youll ever have at MDC. You can tell she truly cares about her students progress in the class and she is very understanding. Youll have some quizzes and essays but shes very reasonable when grading. 100% recommend.
I freaked out when I found out I had to take PHI2010 because I had never taken Philosophy ever but she made the subject so clear and easy that i was glad i picked her. She lectures a lot but their very good lectures. she explains everything clearly. there are quizzes every week and 3 essays
she is the funniest lady ever ! she cares about her students and gives great examples and lectures. Participate and you'll be fine. she changed the way I think and helped me think deeper! she is truly a gem. do not miss out. She is amazing. Do your homework and essays and you'll be fine. Quizzes were ok. do good no need for the final!! best ever
There are three essays, 7 journals, and quizzes! you have to work for your grade, but she is very nice and is helpful! responds to emails quickly, I would take her again!
Everything is straight forward and easy to pass. The main grades of the class are the weekly quizzes, but they only contain five questions or less. Also, there's three essays, but she chooses only two best scores from the three and only one project that needs to be presented. Easy to pass and not hard at all.
One of the nicest professors I have had to date. She really cares about helping the students with their work if they have any doubts and she is accessible outside of class to help clarify any questions you may have. The class consists of 10 journal entries (about 1-2 paragraphs each) and 5 quizzes (10 questions). I really recommend this professor
Professor Amy Lund is one best professors to have in an online class. It can be overwhelming at first with the book and having to use the system through blackboard but she truly cares and its usually 1 test a week and 2 essay responses about 2 paragraphs. She is quick to answer but my only regret is not having her for face to face classes
Dr. Lund is the best professor at MDC, hands down. I didn't know philosophy could be so interesting, but she made it relevant and engaging. She is hilarious and she truly cares about her students. She asks for and respects pronouns!!!!! My biggest piece of advice is to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS when writing papers. I would take her a million times over.
To be honest her class was the only class that did not stress me out this semester. She gives so many opportunities to succeed. I am glad that I took her. Not only I took her but I also made my friends take her too. She is AMAZING.
She is the best teacher I had this semester, she responds to emails super quickly and it super helpful. She gives amazing feedback and it super accessible, You wont regret taking her she is the best.
Professor Lund is an absolute gem to the field of Philosophy and her students. She will give you a week to turn in: Packback Q's, respond to a fellow student or 2, get your A+ on a quiz ( all of which are based on that weeks interesting assigned philosophical reading). There are 3 essays in total & provides great, educational feedback for your work
Professor Lund truly does love what she does and it shows. She is one of the best professors I have had at MDC. She is very caring of her students and wants to help you understand the material. The course is very organized. There are no proctored exams, three essays that are due, discussions, and quizzes. I definitely recommend her.
Grading based on journals. Easy to reach out of class. Homework is easy and simple.
She is quite organized, sends weekly reminders to help you stay on track. If you need any help she is more than happy to help you. Class consist of ten journals and 7 quizzes and annotations. Fairly easy class and the topics are interning to talk about.
Professor Lund requires you to ask a question about the weekly reading and answer one of your classmates along with a quiz. Two essays in this course alone with a third optional essay. Super easy class just read, do your work and you'll pass! She is also very forgiving on late assignments gives you plenty of time to make it up, Highly Recommend !!!
Definitely one of the best teachers at this school. Extremely sweet and really tries to help you keep your grades up. Gives many chances to make up work and gives great feedback. Really pushes you to understand the lessons and it's not hard at all. There wasn't any midterm or final due to covid. Without a doubt definitely will be taking her again!
Amy Lund deserves 5/5. She is so caring, she is the very definition of a kind professor who deeply cares about her students. I had a lot of complications during the semester I had her but she was so understanding and made me feel like I was listened to. She responds quickly and will work with you. All of my peers loved her.
Good Professor. She sends emails weekly with the assignments due coming up to remind you. Three essays, weekly discussions and quizzes. Do all the assignments and you should pass.
Professor Lund is an EXCELLENT Professor! She cares about her students and provides excellent feedback. She made philosophy very interesting and most importantly... she keeps in touch with her students on a weekly basis so you don't loose track of what is due! EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!!!
TAKE HER. She is the best philosophy professor. Her work is all packback, quizzes, and two essay exams. Not too much work. Lets you make up work before a certain date. Clear grader and good motivator - she sends us memes in her emails to brighten us up, love it. You can tell she enjoys what she does and she cares that her students pass.
Professor Lund is an excellent Professor and very knowledgeable in the content she teaches. She is very caring and it shows in how she communicates with her students! She provides you with a chance to submit late work Professor Lund is one of the best Professor's I have had here at Miami Dade. Excellent class and HIGHLY recommend taking her!
Please do not trust the good reviews. If you plan to take this professor online, think about it. I took her for her online class without lectures or videocalls. We had to do all the work ourselves and a lot of readings. She was really tough grading the essay assignments and the quizzes were 5 questions, 10 minutes, and you couldnt go back.
This class has been one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. You have a module every week. They consist of packback questions, readings, and quizzes. She is such an easy grader you can take the quizzes twice and gives you feedback. If you havent done an assignment she allows you to do it later. I recommend taking her 100%. You wont regret it.
I could go on and on about how great of a professor DR Lund is. 1 weekly discussion post, a response, and a short quiz. She is seriously so good at explaining things and the class is designed to not take up a lot of your time. Wanted students to get a break so she had no final exam. PLEASE take my advice and take her. Most easy going professor EVER
Take professor Lund. she is the most caring and passionate person I have known with her student. Just do the lectures quizzes, and you will be fine. She is fantastic and gives opportunities to complete your homework.
Such a sweet professor who really cares about her students and their well-being. She accepts late work until the end of the semester, and all of the tests are open note/open book. Take her!
Although I got an A. I would not recommend this professor. She assigns 2 reading and annotation homework per week, and 2 Journals per week. And then a quiz per week. Her class was a nightmare, the amount of work is unbelievable. she thinks the students have no other classes or have a life.
She responds to emails quickly and was incredibly nice and understanding. It's 2 reading articles (annotate 2-3 in every section) and 2 journals with a quiz due every week. It might seem like a lot but it really only takes an hour or two. Overall, take her to pass and learn some cool things about philosophy.
Genuinely one of the nicest, laid back professors I've ever taken. It was a short course so the work was condensed, every week it was two lessons and quizzes but not difficult at all. Would definitely take again. Responds quickly outside of class and is open to be there if you need to discuss something with her.
Not a bad professor. Textbook was online but if you can't afford it then she gives you a free alternative. 10 Journals (two paragraphs max), 5-7 annotations per chapter twice a week, 5 quizzes, and a proctored exam by the end of the semester worth 10%. Class is easy but overwhelming if you have other classes. Overall, good choice for this course.
she isnt very difficult, but its usually like a journal and a quiz, she does do proctered exams for the midterm and finals using PROCTOR U . Its not a difficult class if you can manage. But if you dont want proctored exams this isnt the class for you
This was one of my easiest classes this semester. She always keeps up to date with the students and she is very easy to reach if needed. The assignments are easy if you put effort in it. She is by far the best prof I had for an online class!
easiest philosophy class. i was never interested in this class but it was mandatory. she is the most understanding and kind professor, attendance is optional, weekly homework is to write and answer one question and complete an online quiz. do the readings and homework and you will get an A. she makes philosophy fun! take her
10/10 thats all amazing professor
Dr. Lund is amazing and cares a lot for her students. Explains topics super well, and I am glad I took her class. One of the best professors I have ever had.
probably the only teacher id give this good of a rating to lol shes the best. in person attendance isnt mandatory since its blended so you can do the whole course at home. the only assignment is to ask and answer one question about the topic every week. there's extra credit each month available but without it, you can score a 90% A in the class
Dr. Lund is super kind and smart. It was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. I often forgot I was taking philosophy because we only met once a week, and the work was so light I only did it for an hour once a week. Very kind lady, gives good advice, would recommend if you want an easy class.
For me, personally, it was a lot of work. A lot of others seemed to get by just fine, but I didn't. It takes me a while to understand things, especially more complex things like philosophy. Although she was nice and claimed to be organized, I didn't feel it was very organized. I felt it was all over the place, but that is my opinion.
This was an easy class just be prepared to do lots of work she kinds of grades tuff but make sure your work is done correctly and you should be fine. also prepare for your final exam because it is proctored, she also gives you time to make up your work. Overall I like this class I don't really have anything bad to say about it.
I loved this professor. So very kind and understanding of everyone's situation, and very easy to reach through email as well. Very easy class. Take her!
She's funny and super sweet. Attendance isn't mandatory. I love the topics she covers. My only problem is her homework. You have a quiz every week with 10 questions that's super easy but her packbags and perusal and civic action cards can get super confusing for a first time student and can become a lot
Best philosophy professor ever. Only 3 hw assignments per week: quiz, packback and perrusal. Doesn't count late work against you, Just let her know what to open and when you finish it you get full credit. Class once a week in person and goes by fast.
I had so many complications this semester, and through it all she was so sweet and helpful !! Although there are due dates, if you simply email her what you need to make up, she opens it immediately for you !! She also responds within the same day usually !! Overall great teacher !
She is very sweet and genuinely is passionate about the topics, all work is online, it may seem like a bit of work but very easy, would take again
The reviews of this class were a little misleading. The workload was overwhelming and the professor assigned a lot of work. Many of my classmates and I were taken aback and confused because the reviews of this class didn't match up. As a result, I decided to drop the class and plan to retake it with someone else in the fall
She smells. I mean it.
If you want to work very hard for a online class then this is the one for you! When I tell you her class had so much work! The amount of reading is insane, questions etc. Also every all exams are proctored. So if you want to pass study those assignments, good luck!
The professor is sweet and passionate, with a manageable workload. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for study prep. Overall, a solid class, though the difficulty may vary.
Dr. Lund was great! Her lectures are pretty engaging, and the homework is easy, just time-consuming. What sealed the deal for me was during this semester, I had many personal complications and wasn't able to complete some assignments on time. She is very flexible and lets you make up assignments for full credit! Definitely would take her again!
She is a great professor who is very lenient with school work and lets you make it up for full credit until the end of the semester. She's also a good person. I recommend.
She was nothing but a sweetheart. Her class was extremely easy, you only have 2-3 weekly assignments, no tests, no midterms, and no final. The only thing is that at the end i randomly got an F for participation which she never enforced on us so just make sure your participating a little bit every class but it barely effected my grade.
Dr Lund is a wonderful person and professor. She is hilarious, flexible with due dates, caring and will jump through hoops to have her students succeed. The coursework is systematic and if you complete it and participate, you will get a great grade. No tests, finals, essays. Excellent professor and course.
Great professor! Attendance is 10% of your grade but there are extra credit opportunities and no final exam. Easy tests taken at home nonproctored 10 questions. homework is pretty much the whole course and not hard. Very understanding with deadlines and extends if needed. Can retake tests and assignments.
Very LIBERAL and left leaning which is extremely biased and annoying.
Don't take this class if you are expecting something normal. This was a bit outrageous, the amount of reading and homework was unmeasured. I am sure she doesn't realize the workload she is putting on the student. You can't learn if you are only worried of finishing this hw quick because you have a quiz and another thing due. Less HW more LEARNING.
I do recommend this class. It was a Midterm, so there was a lot of homework, but as long as you do the homework, you are going to be fine. The final is only 10% of your grade, so if you complete the rest of the assignments, you are going to pass anyway. She cares about students and responds immediately.
Great professor, lots of homework.
Professor Lund is an outstanding teacher. Keep communication open with her, and reach out if you need an extension. I would definitely take her class again; it's worth it. You'll finish the course and become a philosophe too.
She was a great teacher! She is very sweet and funny so lectures were always very interesting. The workload is manageable and the same every week. It's a chill easy class. I definitely would recommend her. Only thing would be that there is group discussions nearly every class, so expect that.
A super easy class as long as you keep up with the homework load. No final or midterm, just quizzes that were online and not proctored.
I was under the impression that the class would be hassle free. the teacher uses a new program that makes doing your assignments a nightmare. ALL the quizzes and final are now proctored. The class over all is easy but the program she is using makes it a dissatisfying experience. If you care about your grades this is frustrating and stressful.
Do not take this class; everything is proctored on Honorlock, that's not the problem. The problem is that she has to like your room scan to give you a grade, so choose wisely.
The AMOUNT of work is ridiculous, she demands such an amount of civic actions that students are borderline FORCED to donate blood or saving Miami to make it, weekly readings that demand and entire afternoon, quizzes, random civic actions. She is very anti AI and spends the entire time in class talking of her own crusade against AI, it is annoying.
If you're genuinely into ethics, save yourself the time and choose another teacher. Boring class, talks so much about anything but ethics. Her hate for AI is stronger than her love for ethics itself. No final/midterm. Civic Action assignments (once a month), weekly annotations, & proctored quizzes.
She's a really sweet and caring professor who will be understanding if any situations come up. Her lectures are interesting, but I found the work to be ridiculous. 200 points for Civic Engagement with quizzes and readings was quite tiring.
start off by saying the students lied on these reviews when I first signed up for class. I like ethics so much and I never thought a course would ruin it for me.. This class gave high school social studies. The civic action assignments to me and others was complete nonsense. She also claims that attendance is not required, but highly recommended..
BEWARE. DONT TRUST THESE GOOD REVIEWS. This is by far the worst professor I have taken by far. The assignments are ridiculous and take hours. And if you actually want to learn dont even bother. All she talks about is her hatred for AI and herself. The "lectures" are just us walking in to ask her a random question and her answering for 45 minutes.
