Dr. Meeks is awsome! Her lectures are very thorough and she is very intelligent. I enjoy going to class because she encourages discussion but it's not mandatory. Just study the powerpoints and you will do fine. She also replies to her emails which is appreciated. Her temperament is very easy-going and understanding. Great atmosphere for learning!

TAKE THIS CLASS! She is super nice and she has a warm welcoming personality! She wants to make sure you understand and doesn't mind answering questions durning class. Just go over the powerpoints and read through the chapters and it's an easy A. I highly recomend you take her!

Attendance isn't mandatory! I didn't go for a full two weeks and managed to get A's on the tests simply because I read the book. She's an extremely nice lady who is willing to help you if you ask! Extra credit surveys & other opportunities are offered. She tends to go straight from the power points, but I needed the book since I didn't attend class

Fun class! Has 4 tests total, including the final, and thats it. She gives a bunch o extra credit opportunities, including some that add to your next test grade if you have perfect attendance. Professor Meeks is great! She is clear and helpful if you go see her or email. She offers a ton of extra credit! Including extra credit for not missing class. Her tests are out of the notes from class and the powerpoints from the book that she puts online. Study those and you're good! Only 4 tests..no other work.

A little scattered brained but she's a good teacher. Print out the blank notes she posts and fill them in in class. She also has her TA who does online reviews. MKe sure you go to class. It's very very helpful when tests come around. The class is really easy and straight forward. She gives TON of extra credit. It's almost impossible to not do good.

In order to make an A in Professor Meeks' class you need to attend every single day, take good notes, and study them for the exam. I didn't use my book at all. She was good professor and very interesting. It's an easy course if you just GO TO CLASS!

Went to class everyday for the first 3 months.. but the last 2 months, I stopped going and still pulled out an A average; special thanks to her TA's reviews, the extra credit, & the friendly people who decided to make a review for everyone! Awesome professor, her exams were very straight forward and as long as you go to class, read the book and go over the power points you'll have an A or at least a B. I will say that I failed the second exam (the hardest one) and was still able to make up for it because of her extra credit opportunities to make an A in the class. I recommend taking.

I liked this class but everyday all you do is go in and fill in answers on her powerpoint slides. Honestly if she just filled them in and you just studied those it would be the same as getting up to go to an 8am class. Not real exciting.

I enjoyed the class. Provides multiple extra credit opportunities, and has interesting lectures. Provides all power points online through Tracs, and is available for questions after class. TA does online review sessions before the tests (4) , and is also very helpful. If you study her power points and attend the online reviews, you should do well.

Her lectures are really clear, and she followed her powerpoints almost word for word in every exam, including final. Unorganized when it comes to keeping dates set, but overall, a great prof.

Her grades is based off of only 4 exams, but she does offer a lot of extra credit if you're willing to go to them outside of class. The exams were easy if you studied the powerpoints and went to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but it helps a lot! The textbook isn't mandatory either but I bought it anyway and I felt that it helped a lot!

Dr. Meeks is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. She truly sympathizes with students and just wants them to participate. She knows it's a general education course, so she keeps it very simple. I will say that the lectures are quite boring, but the class was so easy that I didn't care. Copy what she says word for word and you'll get an A.

I took Meeks as an 8:00am hoping that it wouldn't be too dry for a morning class. She is an awesome lecturer and I found myself actually getting excited to go to her class. Psychology is a very interesting subject and as long as you show up to class and pay attention, it is an easy 'A'. Personally, I didn't us the textbook.

She was just overall a good professor. She gave what was needed to know on the exams and gave extra credit if you didn't like the grade you got on the exam. If she thought any of my other courses I would definitely choose her as my professor.

If you want an easy A take Dr. Meeks! Attendance is not mandatory but you'll get 2 extra points on each exam for having a perfect attendance. Also, she provides in her lectures the answers for the fill-in power point slides, which is from where the exam questions come.

Easy A. Amy is a super chill teacher and she is big on the extra credit. Attendance is worth extra credit and on campus events are too. BTW have your ID to scan in, it's way faster. You will need the Access Code.

AMM is seriously awesome. Her lectures are interesting and you really don't even need the textbook (thus far at least, we're halfway into the semester and I haven't even touched it) because her tests are verbatim off of the lecture. Gives 4 tests total, and there is no comprehensive final. Easy A if you memorize things well.

So easy to understand, class seems easy but it teaches me more than any other class. Brings in guest speakers, attendance is extra credit, tests are easy if you study. She's amazing, take her!

Really good professor, gives you more than enough extra credit opportunities (even for just showing up). She's pretty upbeat which made the 8am class bearable. She has a really soft voice so be sure to listen. Just 4 tests & the final is over the last 2 chapters. Alot of her stuff is on quizlet, use that and the study guides and you'll be golden.

Her lifespan development class is made up of 4 tests, each worth 25% of your grade. You can get extra credit for showing up to class. You get a review for each test and can go back to your notes to answer most of the questions. The ones you can't find, just ask the TA. Probably one of the easiest classes I've ever taken.

She just reads off her power points so its not interesting, but its super easy! Her TAs do study reviews online and basically tell you all the answers. I just read over/studied the chat room reviews and got an A. At the end of the semester she emailed saying she wouldn't drop a test grade but my friend went to her office to ask and she dropped it.

She is an angel, period. I don't care what anyone says. It's a part of college teaching yourself and if you want to learn that's what you must do in her class. Yes, she will read off her notes during lecture, but basically her lectures are more of a review of what you should have been studying. Go to office hours; she is very approachable.

This was my favorite class to attend. She cares for her students and will give a total of 16 extra points on a test to bump up your grade! She truly cares for her students and will explain concepts that are a tad confusing. Show up to class, visit the online chat room for THE ANSWERS for the review (basically the test), and you should get an A! :)

I loved this proffesor, she was so sweet. Word of advice: go to class and take notes because her tests are almost identical to her reviews. The only grades in the class are the test grades and there are four of them, the fourth counting as the final (its not over the entire course) but there are so many extra credit opportunites. 10/10 reccomend

Meeks was by far my favorite professor this semester. Her lectures are super interesting, and you usually get out of class pretty early. Attendance isn't mandatory, but 2 extra credit points are given on tests if you don't miss any classes between the tests. She gives lots of EC opportunities, and her reviews are exactly like the exams!

Attendance is not mandatory but if you want that extra credit then i would definitely go to class. (it's 2 points per test) I really do love this prof, she is one of my favourites at TX State. Ive taken her 2 times now, show up to class take the notes that she reads out verbatim and you will pass for sure. I wish she taught more classes. :(

Amy Meeks is an amazing intro psychology professor. She has the powerpoints online but she does talk very fast sometimes. 2 extra credit points on each test for perfect attendance until each test. There are 4 chapter tests including the final. The IA will post the review online and have a study session. You have to different studies called SONA.

Taking her was the best thing I've done since transferring to Texas State. She is amazing and reminded me how passionate I was about psychology. If you go to class, take notes, and look over the review before the test you will at least get a B. I'm not sure if it was because she was so passionate or the information was so interesting. Dr. Meeks is an amazing choice for 3300. She offers a LOT of extra credit. She only has 3 tests & a final, which is just another unit test. She relates the content in her lectures back to her own life, her experiences, or any experiences you may have, so it makes the content very memorable. Her GA composes the reviews which are just like the tests.

If you show up to class before every test, you get two point of extra credit (it builds up). Powerpoint heavy so print them out or bring a laptop; she talks kinda fast.

She provides a study guide for all exams and the exams stick to that material. Powerpoints are great and she shares interesting articles periodically.

This class does not even require you to think. No outside work is required besides completing the (4) exam reviews. Show up to class, fill in the powerpoints, then don't think about the class again until the next meeting. Seriously, if you want a blow off class, then take this! I got OVER a 100% in this class! Dr Meeks is SOOO sweet and caring and loves what she teaches. A lot of lifespan development is common sense and even the stuff that isn't can be learned in 10 minutes. The TA gives reviews EXACTLY like the exam so I always made a 100 on them. Also LOTS of extra credit and you can miss 9 absences with no penalty.

Ive taken professor Meeks for two different psychology classes and gotten As in both. Exams are exactly like the study guides and allows extra credit for attendance. Super sweet lady and you can tell she cares about you and wants you to do well in her class.

It's impossible to fail this class; It's impossible to get a C unless you're asleep throughout lecture. Reviews given for each test, and test questions taken directly from it. 4 tests, XC for showing up (2 points added per test period to your test grade). For summer, a max of 8 points can be earned; for full semester, 16. 60 Qs, MC. Dr. Meeks is A+

Professor Meeks is amazing! She's so caring and her lectures are always very interesting. Attendance counts, but you can miss like 5 classes. You will make an A as long as you do the test reviews which are pretty much exactly like the test. Easy A and an interesting course where you learn about the life cycle.

You can tell she loves what she teaches and it makes the class very worthwhile. You're able to miss 5 lectures but can get extra credit just for going.

Meeks is such a sweet lady! You can really tell she's passionate about what she teaches, and not only that but she genuinely cares about her students and their success. The only complaint I had was I could hardly hear her when she lectured because her voice is soft and the classroom was large. The class consisted of 4 tests and completing 4 SONAs.

I had Dr. Meeks for Lifespan psychology. Probably the easiest class i've ever taken. The class consists of 4 50 question multiple choice tests. They are, however, exactly like the reviews given out by the TA. Take her. Seriously.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST TAKE HER!! She is amazing and the best teacher at Texas State University. I took her for intro to psy, human sexuality and lifespan development and with all i made As. She gives A LOT of extra credit and it's easy work. Her lectures are helpful if you pay attention but she can get boring at times. Her test are simple, if you study the power points you will pass. I recommend taking notes on the power points that she provides because she goes kind of fast and writing the notes isn't as helpful.

Amy Meeks is an amazing professor. Offers extra credit, attendance can also give extra credit but you can not miss more than 5 classes. Exams were a little difficult because the TA makes the reviews. Ended up using a DIFFERENT TA review just because the one for my class was terrible at making reviews. Go to class and pay attention.

She likes to veer off topic a lot and loves class discussion. Only problem is sometimes class discussions take 30 mins and does not pertain to the lecture. She moves SLOW through power points and could take serval days on one chapter. Can be very boring but she's such a great/sweet professor.

Professor Meeks is super sweet and is just lecture only. Attendance isn't taken, the only way you pass is if you study the powerpoint slides that you take notes from but the tests aren't hard.

Attendance is mandatory for the first 12 classes then she stops taking it. There is a textbook, I recommend reading it and taking notes from her powerpoints at the same time. She posts all of her powerpoints on TRACS. She is a very sweet lady and will offer help if you ask. No quizzes or homework but there are tests. Easy A with some effort!

She's a really nice prof and enjoys her job. She gives good examples to go with principles, theories, definitions, etc. She gives 4 exams over the semester including the final which make up 95% of your grade, and her exams aren't too too hard.

Amy Meeks is the sweetest lady! You can tell she really tries to make her class the best for freshman, and it is. She tells you exactly what to expect in her class. The textbook is helpful, but I honestly think I could have gotten an A without it... I'm not necessarily recommending that. Show up and try, and you've got an easy A.

She's a good prof but be warned: there are no study guides for tests. She also seems to get a little mixed up on occasion (she accidentally put a chapter we hadn't covered on a test - but she fixed it after the entire class emailed her). She's kind & explains things well. Not necessary to attend class but I recommend it for certain test questions

Such an easy class, literally show up to lecture and pay attention and you will pass. My TA gave us the test review filled out so I would recommend reading the book unless your TA does that too. Part 1: I had her during COVID-19 and I can say that she was one of the best professors that I have had. She is SOO very sweet and if you have the opportunity to take her please do. Dr. Meeks was overall good, but her assistant was what made the class 10/10. Completely online class + everything was through MacMillan. We had usually 5 assignments(1-2 were videos + 1 was the "Test" which had under 20 m.c. questions) every 10 days w' a Chapter Test the day after. The exams were 90 minutes + abt. 70 m.c. questions. Book IS needed.

Everything was through Macmillan which you have to buy. It was maybe 5 assignments but super super easy. Tests were also online on there. Honestly such an easy class and good to get the credit but dont expect to learn much. its an easy A though and shes also really nice.

She is one of the best professors at Texas State, she was always offered extra help. she had zoom sessions during her class time although it was not mandatory, she provided so much information. She also offered some extra credit and was all the work was done through launchpad.

Despite this being an intro-level, I emailed her to learn more on a specific topic we weren't covering very much of in the class, and she HAPPILY gave me extra articles and stuff to read on and even brought it up in class! She was super enthusiastic and seemed like a very great person... at least that is the impression I got from the one class I attended. Never went to class. The exams were only on the textbooks. So her class was super easy but that meant there was a lot more pressure on the exams. She communicated often with updates and reminders.

Professor Amy is one of the best teachers I have had this semester. Because of her I love psychology even more. Her lectures were very well explained and she gave many examples so all students understand what was going on. Her test were long but if you went to class and read her notes, you will pass the class.

Class has in person lectures which are great to attend if you are wanting to be a psychology major, it is a building block to the rest. But if this is a regular credit, don't bother showing up. All the tests are online, 80 multiple choice questions, that you will definitely get 100's on. Meeks is also a nice person who loves to help with anything!

the only problem is that your only grades are the 4 exams. she offers extra credit which helps. just look at the notes on canvas and you are good to go. all exams are 80 questions in 80 min. , but you will get it done in like 30-40 min. super nice!

The lectures are essentially the textbook summarized which makes the required attendance annoying but overall a great professor who I would take again if I was a psych major

She only had 4 exams (plus 1 optional final exam as a replacement grade) but she had 4 module quizzes that were open to take unlimited amounts of times to be cushion grades. She's a super caring teacher but she could do a bit better. The course was jumbled sometimes from her switching chapters and removing some chapters and using other ones but overall the course is pretty easy and almost all of what she goes over on the slides are what's on the exams. Not to mention she gives TONS of extra credit opportunities.

My biggest complaint is the tests; they're the hardest part as some questions are only in the book, and more lectures are over or are in the McGraw HWs. Besides that, her lectures are interesting and the weekly hw aren't too bad. She takes a while to grade the extra credit, but also offers a lot of it. She's really nice too.

This class is literally so easy, and the teacher is a saint. There are mcgrawhill assignments, but they are easy and help your grade a lot. In total there are 5 tests, but one gets dropped. They are very easy if you study. Attendance is mandatory, and she will bump your grade to the next letter if you dont miss too too many lectures.

She is amazing!! There is a 40 question quiz before each exam and the questions are essentially the most of the test bank. I honestly copied them into Quizlet and studied them as flashcards. This was my second time taking Meeks and she was just as great as the first time! The test come directly from the quiz bank so take those a bunch of times and you will ace the tests.
