This professor did very well with explaining the topics. She really had great command with the subject.
Great professor! An easy class to get a B in. Getting an A is a little tougher. She is really nice, straight forward, and lectures are helpful. Lectures are mandatory but can be watched on your own time. A lecture verification is due at the end of each week with questions from the lecture.
Great Professor! Pay good attention to grading rubrics as they are very accurate for grading. Attending online lectures are great and allow you to ask any questions. The professor is easy to talk to and gives great feedback.
Professor Michaelis is a great professor. I would take any class she is teaching. She is considerate, very clear (there is no way to become confused), makes herself available and challenges you to think outside of the box.
Mandatory zoom lectures and reading Peer reviewed journals and textbook/watching lecture videos/listening to podcasts
Awesome teacher, very approachable and upfront.
The class required a fair amount of homework, but if you manage your time well then it isnt a huge problem. Ms. Michaelis is more than willing to explain things youre having trouble with and provided great feedback on assignments. One thing she could be better at is replying to emails in a timely manner.
She really put these practices to every day situations. Great teacher!!!
Not a lot of choice because it's a course sequence, but Amy was a good professor.
She is great at making you feel comfortable. She makes herself available to students. She is patient, knowledgeable and passionate.
This course is part of a sequence for BCaBA. The course is hard and the material can be confusing, but she does a great job explaining and is super helpful.
Amy is very thorough. Sometimes to the point of long winded and repetitive, but you will have every piece of information you need to be successful in the class.
she was great! super helpful any time I had a question!
Professor Michaelis does a good job of helping us understand and digest difficult material. This course is hard and she ensures we understand the content so we can not only pass, but become good clinicians in the future (which other professors have not been able to do or fully care about).
Best ABA professor I've had so far. Very thorough with all the information and very sweet!!
Honestly, great professor. Very helpful, the lectures are engaging, and she's very responsive to what someone needs to pass the class.
Love the teacher and the course and hope to take more classes with this professor - she's encouraging and helps facilitate learning new information.
An amazing teacher! She puts such a great effort into the written lectures and live lectures. If you have a question she allows you to stop her and ask and be able to get clarity and understanding before moving on!
Dr. Michaelis is awesome!
Amy Michaelis makes learning Applied Behavior Analysis fun and easy. She really works with you if you are struggling with the material. Her lectures are full of great resources, visuals and examples to help you really learn and apply the material to your daily life. If you want a future in ABA, she is the woman to get you started.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would definitely take it again. I would take any class that Amy teaches, she is an awesome instructor!
She is a great professor. Her lectures are relevant to the material and she adjusts her teaching to help her students. She also provides solid feedback on assignments, everything is always graded in a timely manner. If I have any questions, she is easily accessible and makes sure to help. I would definitely take a class with her in the future!
She was very helpful with understanding material that was misunderstood or hard to grasp at first. Her live lectures were very clear and helpful to understanding the material.
Amy Michaelis is an amazing professor! She explains the concepts of the material very clearly. She enjoys what she does and is always prepared and organized for the lecture. She gives great feedback and is very easy to listen to.
Professor Michaelis provides an interesting look into the world of ABA. She is able to keep each subject interesting and is super helpful when it comes to understanding the content!
Great teacher. She makes everything interesting and wants you to be successful.
Professor Michaelis is a great teacher, she explains the subjects really clear and provides a lot of examples to help the class understand. She also gives many opportunities for extra credit which is really helpful to boost up your grade.
Great teacher! Her lectures are very interesting. She is quick to answer emails and grading. Would recommend taking her class!
Her live lectures are absolutely amazing! She explains everything so well and will explain things over and over until you understand it! I would take a class with her again!
This professor is great! She is very personable, kind, and provides great feedback, which makes online learning enjoyable and not so intimidating. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and professor!
I truly enjoyed being in Amy's class these last 2 months. She really made the class enjoyable and explained the terminology so well. I hope to have her again in another class.
This class is material heavy in a short amount of time, but if you attend all the live lectures, read the material, and manage your time correctly you will be successful. Live lectures allow for the opportunity to answer ask a question just like a normal class on campus. Professor cares about the students and explains the material thoroughly.
She is very knowledgeable in the subject and has a lot of useful information for those interested in ABA as well as just raising kids etc. I thought the class did have a decent amount of work but it was not the hardest class I have taken. She made the class easy to understand.
Awesome lecturer, keeps classes interesting!
Amy is a great professor, and I really enjoyed her class. She responded to emails promptly, her lectures were easy to follow and was open to questions during the lecture. She was easy to understand, patient and presented the material in a way that was easy to follow and understand. The course content was not created by Amy but by UWF and the BACB
Excellent class! Very educational!
Working on classes for BCaBA. Very informative class and very accessible professor.
Follows the course syllabus and grading rubrics, so you know what to expect.
Professor Michaelis is really sweet and makes learning the basics of ABA super simple.
Professor Michaelis was personable and caring. She provided clear rubrics for all assignments and has been available after lectures for questions.
Class was enjoyable, expectations were very clear, lectures were helpful, lots of progress feedback and opportunities to ask questions. Test questions could be worded a little better, but the tricky nature actually reflects board certification test in some cases, so understandable. Tests not the only grade so I am ok with all that. Overall good!
Would definitely take another course with her!
Easy to understand
Professor Michaelis does a great job of teaching this introductory course and making the curriculum fun and interactive. I would definitely recommend her to future students!
She's always ready to answer any questions you have and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the information you need.
This professor did a great job explaining the class requirements, gave plenty of notice for homework and exams. She included ASR's that really helped explain in examples of the quiz/test questions how the format and wording will be, as these are tricky. Overall great class, great professor, helpful on how to get your career established as an RBT.
Professor Michaelis is amazing! She responds to emails really quickly, and grades fairly. She explains all the information clearly and makes everything easy to understand. And she is always willing to help! Highly recommend taking a course with her!
Every lecture, Professor Michaelis would restate the expectations, go over any concerns or questions at the beginning, and then review previous content. This is especially helpful if you only opened the book to do the assignment at the beginning of the week. A grading rubric is used for all assignments.
From a different country, Amy has made the online experience worth while! I truly enjoyed the class and the workload was not too much, but definitely requires you to be attentive to lectures and assignments.
she was a great professor I would take a class with her again
Great professor. She was very knowledgeable and made it fun. I have registered to take another class with her again.
Great instructor! Positive and easy to listen to. She makes the class enjoyable and is realistic with her expectations.
Professor Michaelis is a great professor! She's clear and concise when it comes to explaining the assignments and gives feedback in a timely manner. She also answers questions pretty quickly.
Professor Michaelis is a great professor! She's clear and concise when it comes to explaining the assignments. She explains things way better and easy to understand.
Taking this course for my coursework. I really enjoyed this professor. She is very forward as to whats he expects and makes it accessible for you to be successful in her classroom. I learned more than I thought I would. I was able to take in the material and not just worry about getting assignments done. Theres extra credit opportunities too.
Very knowledgable in what she is teaching and teaches it in such a manner that is easy to learn and understand. She is super helpful and always available to help outside of class. Class is mostly graded on Exams but there are lecture verification, module quizzes, and a good amount of extra credit :).
Amy is an amazing instructor. I took a 40-hour RBT course before, but Jets was so much more engaging and in-depth. She seems to take a lot of pride in her job, she has a very friendly disposition, and she really wants to make sure her students do well. She makes expectations clear and has a fun way of delivering the material.
Professor Michaelis is one of a kind. The lectures are very clear, thorough and are specific to the field of Aba. I would take her for every single Aba course in the sequence if I could. Be clear, Aba is a lot of information to absorb. The terminology, principles, theorists, etc are A LOT. Do not slack, you will regret it. She is amazing, 10/10.
Amy was a great teacher. Her expectations are very clear. It is a lot of information and the class moves quickly but if you take the time to go over all the assigned information every week you will do well not only in the class but on the RBT exam.
Professor Michaelis class is time consuming, but she sets clear expectations and rubrics. Most of the assignments must be completed autonomously.
Learn a lot from class.
My professor makes the difficult topics into easy ones. She explains and discusses all of the topics very well, she gives related and efficient examples always, she respects all of her students and replies immediately when I have questions or clarifications.
Great professor!
The course is very organized. Fun to learn in the class with great examples. complex terminologies are explained in a very clear and easy way. Quick to respond to the questions I have.
Professor Michaelis is easy to work with and offers many hidden opportunities to earn extra credit. As long as you attend class and read through the material, you shouldn't have a problem passing with at least a B.
Honestly it was just an OK class. Lectures were long and didn't say much. Quiz and test questions were worded really funky but overall got a fine grade.
She was very clear on her grading criteria and offered some hidden extra credit opportunities if you completed all the readings. That was super reinforcing when completing my work.
Very straightforward class. Structured similarly to other ABA courses. Lots of reading, but lectures give great breakdowns of information.
Professor Michaelis is a very good professor and is very knowledgeable about ABA. If you take her class, just know you will have 4+ assignments due every week and will have a lengthy lecture that you have to listen to for lecture verifications. These are not her rules though, she goes off of what the ABA department says. She is a great professor!
I really enjoyed Prof. Michaelis, you can tell she really wants her students to succeed. This class had more work than the previous classes in the BCaBA sequence, but that is to be expected as you get closer to the end. I think the assignments will help prep us for working in the field as a BCaBA
She brings her real-world experience (ABA work and doctoral academic) to class which is always beneficial and she encouraged participation in class. Her lectures were thorough, the course load was decent but overall expectations were clear. Otherwise, the course covered a lot of material in a short time, but she made the best of it. Recommend.
The class is organized and the expectations are clear. The lectures are interesting and covers the topics well. She brings examples from her professional and educational experiences to help students understand concepts. She gives great tips for studying for the board exam (if you're taking this sequence for certification). Definitely recommend.
Great professor! Reading is required for your notes. Gives plenty of extra credit so keep an eye out.
Pretty good class overall
Not the best but not the worst either
My least favorite of the classes in the BCaBA course sequence but you will pass if you show up and do the work
I enjoyed Professor Michaelis' class. I wish I would've gotten more feedback on my discussion posts and assignments aside from the rubric sore, but overall I enjoyed her class lectures. She does a good job relating ABA terminology to scenarios outside of children and ASD, which I appreciated. Definitely recommend her.
This is my first course/experience in the ABA field, & she completely inspired me to continue on and make this my life-long career. I am excited for the next course in the sequence set for minor in ABA. She is clear in communicating, answers questions, gives examples in different ways for different learners, cares, and works hard. She's passionate!
Mrs. Michaelis makes sure you understand the concepts needed in order to pass the test and move forward in your coursework. She is willing to stay after lectures and answer any questions you may have. Great teacher!
I really enjoyed this class and the professor. The professor really cares about this topic and her students. She was amazing at taking her own time to make sure you understood the topic. There is a lot of terminology but if you read your textbook and watch the lectures she makes sure you get fluent with the terms.
All assignments need to be submitted on time or points will be taken off. Responds well to feedback from her students.
Professor Michaelis is a wealth of knowledge in the ABA field and makes sure that students get the resources they need to be successful in the course. She takes the time to practice fluency in terminology (the course is terminology heavy) and makes time to go over harder to understand concepts in the course.
She's a good professor. She doesn't pick the course content, she only administers it to you through the online class. Overall the content and lectures are very repetitive.
She was great. All of her assignments were very clear, and as long as you do the readings (textbook and other), which is not hard or really time consuming, you are fine. She goes over the quizzes in class afterwards and is great with answering questions.
The professor is great and communicates the assignments and information well. As long as you do the assignments you will be totally fine and will pass!
Professor Michaelis makes sure that you understand the topics and cares for the weak parts that you are not understanding.
Great class, I really learned a lot about ABA and enjoyed taking her class.
Great course on ABA! Make sure assignments are turned in on time
Great teacher with great opportunities
Great Teacher!
Made the information easily understandable! This is not a course you can just forget about. Pay attention, there is a lot of really useful information!
Professor Michaelis is very informative about this class and during the lectures. She graded our assignments in an appropriate time with feedback if needed. She followed the grading rubric. I enjoyed her class very much.
I took her class online and I really enjoyed her lectures, she is very sweet and she really cares about her students doing well in class, she gives great practice questions during lecture. I would definitely take her class again :).
She was really great at having clear guidelines and expectations for assignments. She always has digestible lectures, and my favorite thing is that we were able to review every test and quiz.
Amy is great at explaining concepts and how you will be graded on assignments. I highly recommend her for anyone interested in the ABA course sequence.
Amy definitely has the passion for behavior health more specifically ABA. She is very helpful and replies to emails quickly. She provides great feedback. Very friendly. I would recommend taking a class with her anytime!
Professor Michaelis is a great professor. She, too, is also taking online classes, therefore she knows what helps and what doesn't. Her lectures are easy to understand and efficient in teaching the material. I would 100% take her again, if that was an option!
She is a tough grader, and can be very wordy in her lectures. She is always available to help and responds to emails quickly.
This class had all recorded lectures so the attendance for live lectures weren't mandatory, but you did have to watch the lecture every week to get the verifications. There was a lot of reading involved with this class, but it is more in-depth than the other classes I've taken in the BCaBA course sequence.
Lectures were not mandatory to attend live but had to watch recording. Her lectures were short and straight to the point, which led me to not get distracted. Her class is very fair and the work is not too difficult as long as you put the effort in. Great class!
awesome teacher definitely recommend taking her.
Covers all relevant data needed to pass course.
Amy was a great professor! Her lectures were very helpful and you can tell that she really cares about the material and has experience in the field of ABA. She is very good at telling the class what areas to study and prep for as far as the exams go. She really is a great professor!
Great teacher responds fast to emails and is a very in depth class. I recommend!
She is very understand and teaches the course content in depth. I would really recommend I have learned the most in this course out of all of the course sequence.
I appreciate the coursework and the lectures provided . She was always very thorough and straight forward on what was expected.
Professor Michaelis was amazing! Live lectures were excellent and short, which is great when you get home from work and still want to participate in the class. She covered all the material and made it easy to understand. Many assignments to complete weekly, but as long as you keep track of them and organize your time, there are still manageable.
Would take again. informational
Amy Michaelis was a great professor - overall very few things to complain about when taking her class. She is in the process of receiving her PhD in ABA so she is definitely very knowledgable on the subject matter. She was able to explain every concept/lecture/exam questions in depth without hesitation.
She was attentive and ready to answer any and all questions. Gave great feedback. She was respectful. Gave clear spoken lectures. She was extremely informative.
She was very attentive and quick to reply to any questions that needed to be answered. The course material is straight forward, and the lectures really help with understanding each module. I highly recommend taking her class!
Her syllabus is very accurate. She does a great job at explaining the upcoming assignments and makes sure to provide examples on how to complete it. The lectures are very straight forward and she ensures to utilize everyone's time as efficiently as possible. Overall, very good professor!
Mrs. Michaelis is a great assest to UWF. I learned alot from her class and have enjoyed it. While this class does come with a heavy course load it is no different than any other HSC I have taken thus far at UWF. I hope to maybe have Mrs. Michaelis again in the future.
Professor Michaelis is highly responsive to questions and concerns, I felt she truly wanted everyone to succeed and become more knowledgeable in the field. She was willing to provide explanation and help to understand concepts and assignments. She is firm and fair - stick to the rubrics and deadlines and you'll do well!
I enjoyed this class.
Very anal about assignments and points. Non-responsive to emails and often is not a help during live lectures. Avoid if you can.
We are in module 5 & a whole month into the course, but we don't have any grades for modules 1-4 yet. I have absolutely no idea where I stand in the class. The only few things that were graded were automated + low-impact scores. I emailed her about something weeks ago & still don't have a response. I'll avoid taking her again.
