Amy Rocks! She is a great prof. UCFV should have more profs like her. I'll take anything she teaches.
Very helpful and tried to keep us on track. Showed good humour at times. Rates 8/10.
Awesome prof! Actually makes you want to learn and have fun in class, and organized and interesting.
She seemed to give everyone in the class the same mark for everything, and didn't comment much on our papers. She is cool though. Most guys would think she was hot, and self absorbed.
I like her. I think her stories add something to the class- better than some of the old scruffs out there. She's young but she seems to wants students to do well and always in her office for help
hot, smart, and wild.
Amy was really nice. She spent the last class giving us a review for the final exam which was very helpful. It was a fun semester, I will take another one of her classes in the future.
Though approachable about lectures , she is defensive when questioned on her grading. There was little distinction between those that put in a great deal of effort and those who did not. My advice: don't kill yourself trying to get a great grade in her class, it won't happen.
Amy was really nice. I liked the class but disagree with some of her teaching styles. She spent way too much time on presentations. She also didn't seem to go into her grading process. I would take another class with her tho. :)
Very nice lady!
Amy is a pretty good prof, really young though! If you are good at public speaking things you will love this class, if you are really shy, you will HATE it!!Presentations waste a lot of time! manages to make it rely interesting!I reccomend taking a class with her, but unless you are a genius and a suck up, don't expect an A!!
Loved her class!
Amy is fun, laid back and interesting. Oh, and her exams are easy too- she tells you what to study but the multiple choice can be a bit tricky. If you come to class and listen to her you will do well. A great semester!
Amy was a great teacher! i'd love to have her again. made crim 100 my favorite class. i say, if u can get her as a prof, try to. she's great. she wasn't too easy or too hard, but she was so helpful and i loved her little offtopic stories :) great class!
effin awesome teacher... i was just taking the calss cuz someone told me too...now i want a career in the field, shes an easy but good teacher, you somehow manage to learn, shes so awesome!!!!
This was the best class EVER!!!! She is really smart and makes the stuff fun to learn. She is so adorable too! You can tell she cares about her students and loves to teach. I can't wait to take another class with her at some point.
This is my second class with Amy and I love her style so much. She makes the classes so fun that you want to come every time. She is always so happy and treats everyone with respect. She's great!
All I can say she is easy and hot.
awesome teacher
she's so hot makes it hard to pay attention in class
Avoid Amy Johnson at all cost. The first exam was easy; the average was too high. The next exam was ridiculous; I dropped from 90% to 63% on the second. The average also dropped. The third exam I got 80% and the average improved. Her essay instructions are vague. You'll know her expectation only when you get the essay back, and that’s horrible.
dont take AMY she is one confusing teacher, do not know what you expect from her, i got a wicked mark in the class but as the person before me wrote AVOID HER and yea the quizzes were so messed, i think quiz number two everyones mark went down even if you studied you were screwed, could have gone from a A in her class to a B cuz of that ONE quiz
Loved her!! I took two classes with Amy and she is so awesome! She is so down to earth and she teaches the material in a way that sticks in your head. Oh, she will also read through your paper for you if you go and see her - that was a bonus!
Can you say Master In Learning Forensics? Amy is friendly, fun, easy to understand and relate to. There will be homework but a teacher's personality is half of it. The body is clearly the other half. In a criminal nutshell, Amy is the Charlie's Angel of CRIM Profs. Come to class. Learn.Listen. Don't look. It will only distract you!!!!!

Wish I had graduated one year later!
AMY IS AN AMAZING TEACHER! As long as you paid attention in class, you can get a great mark. It helps that the teacher is absolutely SMOKING HOT! Amy is a great teacher and I'd recommend her to anyone, if they want to learn something and get a good mark. If you have any questions, she's always quick to send a reply in email and answer your question
Interesting enough class. So interesting, in fact, that I hung off of every word. Which had really nothing to do with the material..
Amy was the best theacher i have had in a long time! She worked really hard to make sure each student understood everything and she used different teaching methods all the time. She is a hard marker but she LOVES if students come and see her, it makes a big difference. I am really hoping that she teaches other crim classes besides 100 and 105.

BABE!!!! lol all jokes aside, awesome prof, she totally knows what shes doing, totally nice.. makes crim interesting :P
Amy makes Crim so interesting and fun, I had no interest prior to the class but left SO interested. She's funny, with it, and I have to mention... absolutely gorgeous! Exams are EASY if you read the material and study the notes. She isnt very clear on how she marks papers, but just ask her to clarify things for you. Take Amy! You won't regret it!
Awesome teacher. Best grade of the semester. Go to the class and listen and its an easy B. She wants everyone to do well and tells you exactly whats on the tests. Plus I looved her outfits!
Amy is a lot of fun, great class structure of 3 quizes each worth 20%, on 5-6 page paper, and a short oral presentation. Her crim 100 class is just the same, and they are great. she is very eager to help and to answer questions.

1 word to describe her: HOT! she is some what strict but the class is always full of life. she expect her class to be adults so don't be childish & do your assignments on time
Amy Johnson changed her name! Took both her intro courses and she is my fav prof of all time. Such a great class and she adds an unique twist to all her lectures. Make sure you get your paper in on time though- she won't take it late!
Such a caring teacher who will literally inspire you to want to learn more about the subject. A very bright lady who will treat you like an equal in the classroom, which is really something.
She is a great teacher to start with and probably the reason why I have taken an interest in pursuing criminology. Her lectures are incredibly clear, interesting, fun, and relevant. Her notes are also very clear. I was in her class with four friends and we all agreed that it was the only class we looked forward to! :)
LOVE HER i would take all my classes with her if i could shes soo cool and uses topics that we are dealing with right now tkae her class you wont regret it and you actually want to attend it.nice going Amy ;) ps. loved your stories
absolutely a pleasure to be in that class, she is super helpful, and easy to talk to. she is very professional as well
Really interesting teacher! She does an excellent job drawing you into her lectures, with great slideshows and interesting personal experiences that are relevant to the lectures. Would definitely take a course with her again.
Amy is an amasing teacher. She is funny and very enthusiastic about teaching. Going to class is always fun and intrsting. Highly recommend Amy for any Criminology classes!
interesting class and was very interesting teacher keeps the class awake definatly best prof this semester highly recomonded
absoloutley LOVE her! She has definatly found her talent of teaching, she makes every lecture extremely interesting and is always available for extra help! I reccomend her class to everyone!
Excellent teacher! I would totally would recommend her. I think this is the only university course that I have paid attention and been interested in for the entire three hours ... and I'm not even a CRIM student! :P
Excellent prof. Take her if you get the chance
Awesome prof!
LOVE HER!! Amy is awesome, so sad she's on mat leave now. Would have definitely loved to take another class with her. READ THE BOOK! The exams are a breeze as long as you read the book! There is no need to skip class because lecture is amazing and she's great to listen to. Very engaging! Take her your first year!
AWESOME TEACHER!!!!
Easily my best teacher this semester, look forward to her class each week for she is a really vibrant teacher and keeps what she teaches relevant. She also is incredibly easy to talk to about anything really. (PS; While attendance is not mandatory, highly suggest not missing anything.)
Hands down the only reason I show up to school, Amy Prevost is so engaging and interesting that she makes an 8am class managable. Love all her lectures and she is straight forward and honest. Take her for any class you can and I promise you will not be dissapointed!
she is great you are gonna love her! she tells great stories and lectures go by super fast she is cool and fun to listen too... take her class
plain and simple one of the best teachers i have ever had. she makes the class interesting and easy to understand. goes out of her way to make sure her students succeed. very easy to talk to as well. not to mention she is quite the looker.
Amy is a great, articulate, fun professor. Her power points are interesting, and she uses 'hot topics' as the basis for the class so you're discussing current issues in Crim. Make sure you do the readings or you'll be lost, as its a course pack not a text! She's a fair marker and wants her students to do well. Highly reccomend!
easy class, she makes it very very interesting, could be one of the boring driest thing you could be learning and she would make you want to learn more, attend class, engages 1on1 and is always keeps the classroom in a positive environment
Such an interesting class, all her material is very relevant and she makes things very interesting and makes it easy to pay attention. She does not mark super easy though, fairly average!
Amy is nice, outgoing, and really beautiful. If you need help, she will provide it. Her class appears to be easy but she marks a bit hard, nothing to worry about though. Readings are a bit long and dull. Class is mandatory as notes are 70% of exams.
AMAZING PROF!!! I'm taking her again for my CRIM 105 class. She's the full package; basically everything you could ask for in an educator. Cost of this class is well worth it! :)
Amy was great, I hope to take a course with her again! She was helpful, funny, even during her notes there was never a dull moment. Very clear with what she expected for assignments, and exams were multiple choice! She goes over the main points from the textbook in class, so do read the text, but also make notes on what she says in class!
best teacher, made all lectures so much fun. look forward to taking next class with her
OH MY GOD. Amy is by far the best teacher I've ever had! She makes the lectures interesting and her exams were all multiple choice. Can't wait to take more classes with her!
Amy is probably the best professor I have ever had. She makes you actually want to show up for class. I'd take another class with her in a heartbeat.
Coming into Crim 100 I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to minor in Crim but after taking this class with Amy I've now become passionate about Crim. She's amazing!! Take her classes if you can you won't regret it!
Amy is very knowledgeable and her lectures are very engaging. Her tests I did have a problem with because she gives the impression she tries to trick people.A lot of her questions are on things she mentioned on "side notes" or she would word them awkwardly to try and throw you off. Not sure why some profs insist on doing that. Different strokes!
Amazing prof! She manages to keep the attention of the class even through long and dull classes :)
Amy is an amazing professor who's extremely knowledgable in her field. Great at stimulating class discussion. I love the format of her class: two 60 question MC quizzes, a paper and a presentation. Her exams are super straight forward and if you pay attention in the class (which you will, because she's amazing) you'll do well.
Amy is a really great prof that expects you do to the work. She marks the paper the hardest as she expects you to follow the guidelines, but she is helpful with everything. She is the best prof I've had in my university career as she always keeps the class engaged. Loved her!!
Absolutely the best professor I have had at UFV, her format is to die for: 2 Multiple choice exams, group presentation, and a paper. She also critiques very well(explains why you were docked marks), and keeps you engaged during the whole ~150 min. with some great stories/experiences. Would take a course with her again in a heartbeat!
Amazing teacher!! She makes course content interesting and you are engaged the whole class. Marking is fair if you write down her notes and read most of the text you'll do well. She's also really pretty!
Amy is great. She is very clear with her lectures and will answer any question you have. She knows a lot and you can tell. Her tests are easy if you study (as most tests are) and the paper topic is really interesting. Took this class as an elective and it made me switch programs. Definitely recommend her!!
Absolutely thorough teacher. Guidelines are clear, tests aren't easy, but if you study, you will do fine. Definitely taking another course with her again! A+++
Amy was by far my absolute favourite professor I have had. Not only does she clearly outline her expectations but she is always there for help. She has a true passion for both crim and for teaching. Her class is simple: 2 "quizzes", 1 paper, and a presentation on the same topic as the paper!
By far favourite teacher..I took the 216 class in January 2014 such an interesting course and Amy is so kind and easy to talk to. Very much enjoyed the course! I recommend her 100%
Amy is a great prof and is always willing to help you. She makes the lecture really interesting, it is really easy to understand her content because of the way she explains it. If you put an effort in her class, it is a really easy A. Would definitely recommend her!
overall the course material is easy to understand, full multiple choice exams. As for the paper, she gives limited guidance, tells everyone different things when you go into office hours and seemed to mark easily for her 'favourite' students and difficult otherwise. Get on her good side, make her recognize you work hard and you'll be fine.
Amy was great and I actually looked forward to going to her lectures. The class was fun and engaging and Amy actually cared about the students. Her midterms are hard and her review doesn't really help you study for them. She's a tough essay marker for first year but leaves comments to help you get exactly what she's looking for.
Loved Amy! I took this course based on feedback from my friends, and Im glad I did. She is so energetic and kind. She is not the easiest marker in Crim though, so make sure you dont leave your paper till the last minute. Definitely recommend taking a course with her, I learned so much!
Amy is an awesome professor. Class is graded by: 2 exams, 1 paper & 1 project. Amy does a really good job in engaging with the class and making lectures interesting. The lectures have a lot of information, so dont skip class. Exams are weird.. she asks what the title of a chapter of the book is on the final.. and you pick a buddy for your group
Amy is one of my favourite profs I have had while being at UFV. She is super nice and personable and actually wants to get to know you. Her lectures are pretty good and she uses photos and videos to lighten the content. There was one group project but she gave us ample time to work on it in class. Hands down would take her again.
Amy had really engaging lectures and very clearly knew what she was talking about. Participation really matters and she will call you out on it. I found her tests are really easy but the way she grades papers is really hard. She has very high expectations when it comes to papers and will rip your paper apart if you dont meet them.
Amy is my favourite prof. Her classes are lecture heavy but she makes them interesting and engaging by telling great and funny stories. She's super experienced in the crim field so she knows what she's talking about. The course has a midterm and a final, one paper, and a presentation. Come to class, take notes, read the textbook & you'll do good.
Explains the lecture slides so that we understand, teaches by using lots of examples, Lectures are easy to follow, very fair.
Dr. Prevost is a thorough prof and her lectures are well crafted. However, she is an extremely tough marker, and its almost impossible to get anything higher than a B- on your written assignments. Tests are challenging, but in Crim 100 (online education) are all multiple choice. She is a well-grounded prof, but she is not an easy prof to please.
Amy is a really good prof. Her class doesn't require a lot of reading. She also has 3 mini-tests that are out of 30 instead of a midterm and a final. There were 2 small assignments and 1 big paper that you have the whole semester to do! Definitely recommend this prof! Oh, and readings are short. :)
Amy is one of my favourite profs by far. She gives clear criteria for the 3 papers (2 short and 1 long) and the exams are all multiple choice. Her ppt lectures are somewhat vague but read the extra readings and the textbook and you will be just fine.
Amy is an excellent prof. I had her for CRIM100+216, which were both online for the last two semesters. Lectures are very informative. She is a bit of a difficult marker for written assignments, and you will need to study a bit for exams. Make sure that you don't skim over any course content, as her tests questions can be quite specific.
Amy is lovely, she's pretty approachable. Her lectures in powerpoint are kind of all over the place and do not initially make sense so make sure to read everything over and pay attention. Tests are pretty specific so pay attention to every video link, article, chapter, etc. I feel like she would be better in person though, would def take again.
Although the material was interesting, with this being an online class the way the Prof presented the material was boring. She made slideshows and put what shed say in a lecture in the notes instead of making a video. However, I feel that she would be a great professor to have in person.
Amy makes herself available, marks and responds to emails quickly. She is a tough grader, especially for a first year course. Her tests are difficult even with her study guide, the class averaged 70% every time. If you're looking for a GPA booster, I wouldn't recommend this prof. Content is interesting, but delivered in PPT slides only (online).
I like this class, I found tests to be hard, and she is a hard marker. She will help you if need be and be there to help. She gave me lots of feedback, and I learned so much about writing essays. She has your best interest at heart. Very nice too, but it wasn't a cakewalk.
This online class was all over the place, you were expected to teach yourself as all she does is give you the slide. The quizzes are hard and she is the toughest marker I've had when it comes to papers, especially for a first year class.
Amy was a great professor, she made class engaging and interesting. She was really easy and quick to reply to emails too. We had 2 big papers this semester (one 5 pages and the other 10), which she marks very tough on. She does 3 smaller exams which I really liked, but they are harder than they seem. Amy is a great prof, but a very strict marker.
Amy was a great professor and did not assign too much homework or assignments all at once. She is a tough grader but she offers great feedback and adds comments on papers. She seems to care for her students and wants the best for them.
Amy's class consists of 3 quizzes, a paper, and 1 term paper. The term paper is a bit heavy, but she gives great lectures and there is not a lot of homework. Her tests are all online so you do not have to come to class those days. I would recommend!
Regret it. Tough grader, no feedback given, and wayyyy too many readings to keep up with each WEEK.
She is the best professor at the university hands-down made the class so much more interesting to take. I took her psychopathy class and she makes you want to engage in conversations. She does have a long paper due at the end but other than that her tests were online and super straightforward.
She seems to be super engaged with the course and her students. She doesn't provide her lecture slides online so definitely need to attend classes or have a friend who can fill you in if you happen to miss a class. It was. a hybrid class so the exams were online.. Overall best prof i've had in my three years!!
She seems SO enthused with the content of this course. It makes it so much easier to learn when you have a prof that is engaged with what they do. She gives SO many opportunities for feedback, so 100% take her up on those offers. Slides aren't provided after class but honestly it wasn't hard to keep up unless you miss a few days... Best class yet!!
Clearly very knowledgeable about the subject. She answers emails pretty fast and makes excellent power points. However, her exams are quizzes are unclear. Would not take it again, even though I learned a lot. Had a lot of fun writing her papers.
I took 216 with her and just finished, she was incredible. She is very knowledgeable about the subject, and acknowledges that students have lives outside of school! I cannot recommend her enough, defiantly my favorite prof by far. She is a bit of a tough grader with papers, but nothing too extreme. Super inspirational.
Amy is a good professor compared to others, she definitely made the class informative and fun to take. There are a lot of LONG readings that can not be skimmed and videos. Her marking is incredibly tough especially for a 200 level class, ridiculous expectations. Test questions are also confusing and unclear.
Dr. Prevost is an AMAZING professor. Her lectures are both engaging and interesting. She is extremely knowledgeable and personable.
She is a really good professor, professional, organized, and very nice. Reading is heavy in the course, but the lectures are very good and she gives good feedback on your work. The only kicker is that I didn't feel like I could share my opinions on the topic as there is a one-sided view that the class seems to have. Otherwise awesome person.
Very clear content, engaging and cares about her students.
Amy presented very engaging lectures with tons of interesting topics during her classes. The tests are pretty straightforward if you pay attention and do the readings. I would definitely take her class again.
if you get Amy as ur prof, you should be looking forward to only 3 exams(which are online and are multiple choice questions only) and only two papers. For her crim 100 class, we only had two papers which were pretty straight forward, though the second one seemed a little tough. The exams were super chill, all of her exams only have 40 questions.
Attendance was not mandatory but slides were not posted. There were readings every week but they were posted so no textbook required. Only two papers and three exams. All three exams were 40 questions and online. She was very accessible outside of class. Always willing to go over exams or go over an outline of a paper.
Amy is one of the most decent profs in crim department. she's a tough grader on the papers but if you wrote what she wants you to write, i think you are good. her exams were easy. you just need to read and listen to the lectures. there's no weekly assignment only 3 exams and 2 papers.
Amy is a great prof. Although this semester has been unstable class-wise due to unpredicted personal circumstances, she has kept great communication throughout the whole thing. As for the few lectures I got to have in person they were amazing and the only downside to the class was that I didn't get to see more of them.
I found the online course very difficult for a entry level course. I am typically an A - A+ student and I struggled hard. The tests did not seem relevant to the material and the essay expectations were not clear even after getting an explanation.
I have taken three classes with Amy now and she is by far my favourite prof at UFV. Her lectures are super engaging and she explains the concepts well. She can be a tough grader but gives excellent feedback and is willing to help you improve. Overall an amazing prof and I highly recommend!
She gives good lectures, which are in-class small group activities: no presenting, just talking about topics. Her tests are online, and they are hard. You need to read the textbook, everything in her lecture is from the textbook. Super accessible outside of class, and gives great feedback. Her papers are tough though; she marks them soooo hard.
Amy is an amazing professor. She is willing to support her students however they need. Her lectures are quite engaging and interesting. There is a decent amount of pre-class readings but they are also quite interesting. She also has an amazing response time outside of class if needed. I would take her class again.
By far the best prof at UFV. She is amazing. She is very knowledgable and made the class so fun. The textbook was easy to read and her tests were easy if you did the readings and were engaged. I considered switching to CRIM just because of her. TAKE HER CLASS!! You won't regret it.
Professor Amy's lectures are engaging and informative. While the workload is manageable, the exams require close attention to the material. unstuck study proved invaluable for efficient study prep alongside the course readings.
Rest in Peace, Dr. Amy Prevost..... you will be missed.
