My favorite class actually. she was very nice and not the type who would throw you into the wolves. she'll help and make sure you pass by most means...legally of course. if you don't have her, you're missing out ALOT! i even have her next semester for her ENG 098. i love this teacher alot.
Reynolds is a awesome teacher, she is very helpful and very much intrested in her students. As for her assingments it's easy and fun, you wont go wrong choosing her.
Wonderful professor and wonderful person. She makes english class veyr interesting and unique. She was the only professor that actually taught me english in a way that i didnt learn before. I respect her and thank her for her patience towards me and in general for whatever she offered as a teacher.
She is tough. If you are looking for an easy and passable class, I strongly recommend you to look for other instructor/professor.
I disagree w/the person on the bottom. She's easy if u do the work & keep up. It's a typical english class. She gives 3 essays & lil readings to do. She also gives us extra credit (: She's very helpful & outgoing. No need to avoid. She's cool!
He's funny and loud. But she's a great teacher and explains things very well. Not a lot of HW, but mostly a lot of REVISING of the Essays...But overall fabulous...
A repeated student for both 097 and 098. once again i had a REALLY fun time with this class and it remained as my favorite. anybody who does not take their remedial courses with her will be missing so much. HIGHLY HIGLY HIGLY recommended.

she is a very nice person. she is the best. she always makes jokes. i really love her. i really enjoyed the hypernews thing she does. that really got me closer to my classmates and i am a shy person. i really loved our mentor as well. this class really gets you closer to the resources.
She was very helpful and very nice. She way a cool teacher. I looked forward to her class every time. There was reading, homework, small quizzes, and in-class essays. But they weren't hard, just a little challenging sometimes. She says "Dude!" a lot. But overall, she as a great professor! I recommend her to anyone who needs to take English098.
She gives too much HW thats sooo boring and her class is worthless and boring too i hated it because it sucked but she is a very nice lady and very easy
I don't know about the English classes, but U100 was horrible. She was disorganized and assigned way too much work. If I had known, I would have taken something else.
Keep up with the reading and journals. Her class is fairly simple. She is a cool teacher. would recommend to anyone who needs this class. quizes on book you read. take her you won't regret her
Professor Reynolds is the best teacher that I have had thus far at CSUN. She is so helpful and really has a good time teaching. There is a lot of work but some of the assignments were really interesting. She genuinely cares about you doing well in the class and is very enthusiastic. She gives you a lot of positive feedback too. Great teacher!
Ms.Reynolds is a wonderful teacher that truly cares for her students and thats rare in college as long as u keep up on work then u will do fine in her class. oh and 4 EVERy essay go to the writing lab they help SOOO MUCH she dont be just tellin us 4 our health!
GET HER.the other 098 teacher assigns 10page essay Amy is the best. Essays are 3-4 pages & reading isnt that difficult. you have to do all the work & turn in a portfolio. dont miss class. Went to class everyday wrote my essays, rewrote them if needed & passed the class. basically everyone who turned in a portfolio passed. do work & turn in portfoli
Amy Reynolds is very helpful. For 098 class, she will only assign three essays, Narrative, Issue, and Text-Based. ONLY one book to read. Although, you have to read books on your own time. Assigns journal entries and hypernews [she'll talk about this] She is hard on commenting on papers but it's for the student's own good. TAKE HER!!!
She is great!! If you can take her 098 class or ENG 305, do it!
good god did i hate this class...shes nice but the material is sooo boring and the projects and essays are a pain in the ass...dont take u100 if you have the option take another class to fullfill the life long learning req. she also never gives u a day off. the book was pointless to buy, i never read it and there is maybe one or two quizzes ...
You will hate UNIV 100 with her, so avoid it at all costs. She assigns lots of busy-work and pointless readings that she rarely discusses. Only a few quizzes. She is disorganized and an inconsistant grader. She is vague on assignment requirements. Take something else if you need a Lifelong Learning requirement.
I love mrs. reynolds! She's so helpful and always has time for her students. She one of the few teachers that actually care for her students. Take her!

Very disorganized...When i took her class she intimidated me a bit but later on you get the idea that she just wants you to do well. She accused me of plagiarizing, yet she gave me the highest grade in the class??? Take her, she is easy compared to the other professor (only three written essays required.)
She is cool. I could have taken later english courses with her but they are always FULL. But overall, I miss her ;)
She is very nice overall. If you wanna earn her respect and care all you have to do is read and do the assignments asked for and you will be good to go.
I had professor reynolds for english 097 and 098. It was great having her both semesters because she already knew who i was and in a way let me slide a little more in english 098. Wants everyone to pass. Do your work and if you have problems, talk to her. I got a 70% in English 097 and got 107% in English 98. It's not hard.
This instructor is probably the best for English 097 and 098. She is extremely lenient on late work, and she wants everyone to learn and pass her class. She is also very nice and easily approachable. Highly recommended.
What a great teacher. Wants everyone to pass and will extend due dates. Easy A if you do all work. Dont even have to pay attention at all. Just do writing assignment and you will pass.
Very nice teacher, EASY class. Even though it was an easy A, I wouldn't recommend it because it wasn't challenging at all. We had some good discussion but overall it felt like a high school level course. Also, class was ALWAYS confused about due dates and assignments, not clear enough
I recieved an A in this class. I do not recommend this class to anyone because its pretty much pointless. So much useless work in the class!! I mean, i could learn all this stuff on my own. But yeah overall the teacher was cool,but i thought taking this class would be a laid back one, unfortunately is not.
I took her 3 years ago but i still remmember that she acused me of plagirizing. I didnt! Even though she offended me I would still recommend good english writers to take this class! (all you have to do is write papers). Those that have diff. with this subject will still pass since she is lenient.
Okay, well Professor Reynolds really takes her job seriously. This was a really hard class for 100 level course. There was a lot of pointless work to be done, but I guess that's just the class. Overall, she's nice, and you'll get a good grade if you put in effort, but she assigns a lot of work.
I you really want to pass an english class then I recommend you take Amy Raynolds' as your professor...She understands the situation of the struggling student.
Expect a lot of work, lots and lots of writing (it is Report Writing class lol)She is extremely helpful and probably the nicest English professor you'll ever have. If you need help she is always available and willing to help. Grades fair, although it is a demanding class your writing skill will improved. Great professor!
Very nice lady but that class is sooo pointless. I had more work for this class than any other class. Its a chill class but more work than it should be for a seminar.
She is a great teacher, those who want to be a writer plz take her class. She gives a lot of assignments if you fall behind you will feel regret. It is not hard to pass her class,just go to class every time and do read the book, otherwise you will miss points. do weekly writing online,you will find it is fun thing.
Professor Reynolds is an amazing teacher and does a very good job at teaching. She is very clear and will help you in anyway. You can see her passion for teaching and is very relateable to. I highly suggest her for University 100.

Very nice lady who cares for her students, assignments are clear and she's willing to help. Very open to new ideas and getting the class involved. Overall easy class but a good amount of assignments to earn your grade!
She is soooooo annoying!!! All she does is assign assignments all day long! they are close to the due dates which she acts as though her class is an upper division course. Dont EVER take her if u are attempting to take a GE course
She is very knowledgeable and willing to help you with your work if you go to her office hours. This course was like a full time job! Tons of writing. There was a time when 3 writing projects were due the same week. At times it got confusing what was due when. but she was a nice lady. Would recommend her only to those who can take a lot of writing.

Reynolds taught UNIV 100 so she understands how hard it is to be a freshman. She will make you feel comfortable with yourself and feel like you will be a good writer.
"There is no such thing as a caring teacher" Wrong Ms. Reynolds is real and caring. You can actually relate with her no matter what you are struggling with.
She is extremely bias and opinionated. Do not write about something she does not like or it will be very difficult for you. I don't like her...enough said
Professor Reynolds is the best english teacher I have ever had! Reynolds can make reading seem so easy by picking books you actually like and really believes in you. Her tutor sarah was amazing and very helpful! Take her TAke her TAKE HER!!!
Shes kinda like a hippy.Well at least dresses like one. sometimes she talks slow.no notes. random quizes. you have to like reading to take her class. she forgets when she assigns things, so she expects them due when she says,so you have to be on top of your game. our class was wild so it was cool, but otherwise material is not interesting. Ms. Reynolds is a strict teacher, but her class is easy if you make an effort to do the essays and the readings. She does have pop quizzes but then you get used to it. There was actually a moment where I was having a really bad time with my family and I actually cried to Ms. Reynolds and she was really understanding and helpful =]

Absolutely love Prof. Reynolds. This was the last English class I had to take at CSUN and I was absolutely dreading it. I've never been a confident writer and don't particularly enjoy English, but Professor Reynolds really helps make you a better writer. Class discussions were often very engaging and interesting. Definitely recommend!
Pr. Reynolds is a nice teacher and it's not that hard to get an A if you work A LOT! Everything what we did is endless essays,and a lot of reading.But her comments to the essays and workshops help to improve writing skills. Lectures were almost in the same style. I got an A because I worked a lot on my papers but I won't take her next semester.
Prof. Reynolds is very nice and helpful! You do have to put A LOT of effort and time to this class. She gives tons and tons of readings, exs, essays... but they are all very educational and interesting. If you are taking a lot of hard classes or working full time don't take her - she will take up your time. Good Luck!

This class is required a hard work and what makes it worse is that the professor will not explain what she really want you to do and when you turn in your work, she took off points of things that she don't even mentioned!You have to know how to do everything your self. She just talk about general issues and leave you alone with your problems!
She's not helpful at all. She will not be clear about what she really wants from you. You will be lucky if you get good SI leader. To be honest I wouldn't take her again...

Great professor indeed she gives a lot of work but is very caring and dedicated to her class. She comments roughly on papers, but for your benefit class isn't hard just needs you to really put in an effort. She made a difference in my education. Definitely take her.
She is an AWESOME teacher! Her class was so much fun especially when everyone was participating. She analyzes all of the essays which makes her a tough grader.. I got B's on all of them and she rarely gave out A's on essays. She's very descriptive and basically gives you everything you need to know on the exams. Best English teacher I've had by far
She is the worst professor to take for an english 113A class. extremely tough grader, unfair professor, she tooks 15 points just if you forgot your book once! Although you write several pages of essays and she didnt like it or you forgot one of the requirements she will give u an F grade. Not recommended to take, avoid her! Avoid her! nightmare!

Honestly, she has been one of the best professors I have came across with! We did have essays due about every week about a page or two & three major essays about 5-6 pages in length. She gave three quizzes throughout the semester, but did tell the class what they were going to be exactly on. No mid-term!
The issue is that she is never clear what she wants. Way hard to get a good grade. If you are willing to get a high grade, you should try to avoid. Be on her bright side to get her attention. She makes things harder than it should be. I liked the class as it was engaging though, but did not like the way she grades. She consider you a stupid suck
The class was fantastic. I had this professor for both of my semester. She helped me out with my essays. I am from abroad and English is a language I struggle. I am a person who is very ambitious and wants to earn an A in every class. I am not sure for this year To do well make sure to do what she says and go to her office hours and follow.
I took English 113A & B with Professor Reynolds. I have to say she is one of the greatest professors. The reading gets a little confusing at times but she really makes sure that you understand everything in her class. She's always open to help with your papers but you really have to work for a good grade. I passed with a B+ in 113B & an A in 113A.
Out of my 4 years at CSUN, Professor Reynolds is probably THE worst professor I've ever had. She is nice as person, but as a professor she is terrible. She is very unclear about when your homework assignments are due and she never updates moodle- leading to you unaware of due dates, assignments, and what she wants. I do not recommend her.
I took Professor Reynolds for ENG 306, Report Writing and she is the WORST professor I've ever had during my 4 years at CSUN. She's very unclear about when she wants your assignments, and she never really updates her moodle page. If you email her asking to clarify, she will be upset and tell you to read moodle. But moodle has dates from last year..
She doesn't really give you time to work on the moodle post, she wants you to really be on top of everything. Even before hand. All moodle post are usually turned in by 5pm not midnight. Plus, she'll make you worry about an assignment and its not even collected the next day.
I loved this English class, by far she is my favorite professor at CSUN. It does get a little difficult when she talks about what she wants for assignments but they are easy assignments and you can get them done in less than 2 hours. A lot of writing comes with this class so GET READY. I can assure you that you have the best 113a professor there.
Her syllabus is OVERWHELMING. Her directions aren't clear. She grades every little thing you do in class and on your papers. If you're in this class you better keep up or you'll miss out on a lot.
Professor Reynolds is very unclear through out the semester about assignments and what she wants. Many classmates confused about when and how she wants something done. Replies to emails weeks late and has no problem giving out 0 on assignment even if you did the assignment but made a mistake with moodle. Master papers receive a B at best. Avoid

I had her for both English courses this past semester. 113a and 113b, while I can say that 113b was way more of a hassle with the amount of work that is given out in such a short time frame, I can say professor Reynolds is truly there for you and will help you improve if need be. I would take it with her just to improve my writing. Simply amazing!
I had her for 11a & b. while I'm tired of seeing her, she really did care about the growth of her students. unlike other teachers she lets you redo one of the essays for a better grade. and honestly, if you laugh at her jokes and show some interest in the class she will love you and might curve your grade. don't take her if you are lazy.
Professor Reynolds is unclear about her assignments and gets frustrated when asking for help. She does not update canvas frequently and posts the assignments elsewhere. Be ready to read and write essays on how sustainable the environment is. She requested five books to buy for her class, but we only used two books.
3 Essays and A Final Portfolio. Professor Reynolds is one of the best English Professors I ever had. I have to be honest, this was my third and final attempt taking the class. I never expected to improve and I am so proud of myself for that. I am so grateful and I will continue to improve even if it is on writing essays.
Assignments aren't clear. Very tough grader. Doesn't like the way you did the assignment? Takes off points. Prompts are vague. Doesn't teach. Assigns random readings that have nothing to do with the papers or help in anyway. Don't take this class if you actually want to learn.
Her expectations for assignments arent clear. Half of the class dropped this class. If she doesnt like what you put in your assignment or how you did it she will give you a bad grade. She also can make you stupid if you answer incorrectly in class. Really wouldnt recommend this prof

She is not a good teacher. She may be nice but she isn't the easiest to talk to. Be prepared to read crappy essays from college students from previous years and interpret them like they are J.K. Rowling.
For an intro class it felt like highschool. If you know how to write an essay her lectures can be pointless. Best way of learning is her feedback on your essays. She gave three texts, Two of them felt pointless and the third was necessary. She was a really sweet person, cared for the students, just felt like the lectures werent very useful.
She was fine. Tough grader. 3 papers, no tests but a lot of reading. She could be a little rude times. If you have another teacher that is rated better, would hundred percent take the other one.
Lectures through zoom were tiring especially since I had her early but I felt like they didn't help. We had three essays I had to buy 3 books and we only read 1 Her canvas is unorganized has tons of modules and papers that I never opened. You have to do a portfolio as your final so work hard on the essays. extra credit is given there and there
Honestly I would not recommend this class if it is your last resort then go for it but I would not essay's are very unclear she does not clarify. I had to ask my SI teacher for help most of the time. Does not use her lecture to explain the essay she leaves videos for you to watch on your own time which are not the best.

The class is easy, read the prompt, do the assignments and you will get a good grade. Unfortunately, she likes to inject her political opinions in just about every lecture so I hope you don't have any opinions or ideas that are remotely conservative.
Go to class. Make the deadlines. Prepare to be called on & do group work. And grit your teeth through her endless lectures about politics. And then write repetitive papers about those politics! This isn't english class, it's a public anti-right forum. I'm pretty liberal myself, but this is just ridiculous!
I should have received an A- in this class but she added an extra essay which was not on the original syllabus knocking my points and grade down to a B+ instead of an A-. Not cool.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!!! Lectures are insanely political and do not teach you anything about writing or English in general. It feels like a liberal arts class/political science class rather than English and all of her points are political. She does not agree with anyone that goes against her views and has even made some semi-racist remarks.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. This is not an English class this is Politics and she doesn't respect you if you disagree with her. As much as I'm trying to be liberal it's hard and she is really unorganized. Sometimes she post the assignments on the last minute and expects you to do it and there a bunch of unnecessary s**ts she posts.
This professor just grades very roughly I would not recommend to take this class if you want to have a good passing grade. I feel as though her lectures were to no help with the assignments in this class well. They just never made sense and were always off topic.
If you want peace in your life, avoid this professor at all costs. Misgraded mine and several other students assignments on more than one occasion and tells you she will fix it but never does. She is always late to class but if another student walks in late she calls them out in front of everyone. Super stressful class overall.
