You pretty much have to have the same opinions as her if you want to say anything during class. She grades hard on papers, so you have to be an good writer to pas. The class isn't very interesting either, but we have a few sort of cool projects during the year. She likes to help if you ask.

Such a wonderful teacher. All assignments are benefitial. She cares about her students and is always willing to help. Interested in her students and their opinions during class discussions. If you enjoy English you will really enjoy her class. Work is mostly easy but you have to do it to pass.

I enjoyed her class. I learned quite a bit. I did have a hard time with her papers and tests but besides that I liked it.

I really enjoy her class. I want to be a teacher and hope to be one that explains as well as she. If you are willing to try and willing to ask her for help or ask questions she is a very caring teacher. You dont? She expects you know it already. Thats just how it is.

As usual Ms. Riddell was AWESOME. All of the material covered was interesting, and she is really into her subject. I would definitely take her again. As long as you stay up on your reading, and stay on topic in writing your papers you should be fine in her classes.

Ms. Riddell is extremely helpful is gives opportunities to earn bonus points by using smart thinking and an amazing 5 points to your overall average for perfect attendance. She is a very interesting and fun teacher.

She is very nice and tries to grade you easy at the beginning of the semester which really helps. 5 bonus points for being in class every day. dont be late the day of a quiz or you cant take it!

Ms. Riddell is so nice! We had interesting discussions in class and she is very knowledgeable. Definitely knows her stuff. You can get 5 bonus points on the final grade if you don't miss a class! Expect to do a lot of writing, obviously, and expect to have to write well. Readily available in her office to help. I enjoyed this class.

I really enjoyed this teacher, at first I thought I was a terrible writer and after having her I really have improved, she is very fair in her grading and gives bonus point opportunities and lets you use notes on quizzes

AWESOME CLASS! I avoided this class for years, then reluctantly took Mrs. Riddell. Finished with a 97 average. Stay on top of your work and you'll do fine! Ask her for help, she is available! I wrote reading responses like I was talking to a friend and made a top score on every one of them!

I enjoyed Ms. Riddell. She explained all assignments clearly and if you have any questions she answers them. Lots of writing (obviously, it is a writing class) but she is good with grades and fair. Give you points for being in every class that can really help your grade!

Pretty good teacher, a little hard on beginning papers but gets easier if you really put yourself into your writing. She is pretty clear on what she wants in a paper and gives ideas on how to find info and develop.

I'm currently taking this course online, and she has been great. Very prompt with email responses, quick grade turn around, and relatively easy assignments. There is a lot of reading, but it is a comp course, also the poetry section has been pretty boring so far.

Ms. Riddell is a very hard grader, but she makes it that way so you become a better writer. If you want to become a better writer I would more than happily reccommend her. But if your looking for an easy A, your not gonna get it here.

Her class in general is easy to keep up with but the work is hard, in a good way though. If you come visit her during her office hours regarding your paper(s) she gives good tips and is very helpful.

She is a nice person but an ok teacher. A lot of the work is kinda pointless. When asking her questions in class about essays she can be very confusing but asking her outside of class she is super helpful. She is always willing to help you if you see her during office hours. Her class really isnt hard at all but she can be strict on essays.

She gives you 4 papers to write, you get 2 weeks for each. She does make you work for your grade by I am down with that. If you cant take that then dont take the class, i think she's a great teacher, loves using D2l, lets you get extra credit for coming in to work on your paper before you trn it in.

She is hard on grading, but if you work with her (and try to pick topics she likes) you will pass pretty easily.

As an older student, paying my own tuition, I appreciated Prof Riddell holding our feet to the fire. She was very available to us for feedback and help with our assignments. I found her teaching style to be creative (i.e. Varied final draft workshops) and appropriately firm. If you dont want to learn, dont take her.

Very helpful teacher that knows what she is talking about. She grades strictly, but gives you long periods of time to do one essay. You have to actually put effort into your work if you want a good grade, but hey, that's what education is all about so don't complain about it.

A great professor, I enjoyed my semester with her. I will be looking to take comp 2 with her as well. She does grade papers fairly roughly, but if you bring your paper to her beforehand, she'll tell you exactly what to change and how to change it. Her lectures aren't very helpful, but most of her teaching comes from when she helps edit your papers.

Favorite teacher I'very ever had. She has a passion for English and is excited to teach. She is very kind and sweet. She cares for her students a great deal. She offered be a break and said I could turn in my paper a few days late if I needed to. Understanding and very wise. My husband had her too and we both loved her. You will actually learn.

She is so accommodating, understanding and helpful via email and blackboard. However, she will make you work. Throughout her course you will have to meet various deadlines consistently. There are many discussions, 3 big papers and other assignments. The work load is a bit hefty but completely manageable as long as you are on top of your work.

Amy Riddell is an excellent professor. You MUST participate in class, and show that you're trying. Use the professor as a resource: she answers emails day, night, and even weekends. If you are struggling COMMUNICATE. If you are unsure of grading criteria, or are having difficulty with a deadline send an email: she is very helpful & accommodating.

I took Ms. Riddell For Comp I in the fall of 2018. She is a great professor, most of the class pertained to improving writing skills and MLA formatting, and then applying it to your essay. I got an A on every paper, and was exempt from the final exam. She is truly a great professor and cares about her students. Taking her for Composition II!

Ms. Riddell is one of the sweetest teachers at NWFSC. Not only is she a caring person, but her class is super easy. Its not mandatory to show up but like most classes attendance affects your grade, and she gives out atleast one handout per class session. We have lots of reading but its only 2 page short stories. She explains everything great.

Mrs. Amy Riddell is now my favorite professor. Her husband was diagnosed w/ cancer, but she still shows up to class and responds quickly to emails. She makes sure all of her students know that she wants them to get a good grade & goes above and beyond to help everyone in the class. She is an intelligent & sweet woman and possibly my new role model.

Professor Riddell has been nothing short of amazing. I took her for Comp I and Comp II this year and she has been consistently clear on assignment requirements, due dates, and etc... Classes usually end 30 minutes early, she never draws out topics longer than needed. Best english teacher I have ever had the privilege of taking! Thank you Amy.

I took professor Riddell for both ENC1101 and 1102. She's really nice and helps you improve your writing skills. There is a lot of reading for ENC1102 though

Ms. Amy Riddell is an amazing professor. She is accessible outside of class and if you stop by her office she will tell you everything you need to pass. She will also give you extensions on papers if you let her know ahead of time. Great Professor who loves teaching. Also, she is a published author! Take Ms. Riddell!

She is an amazing grader and she makes what she wants clear on her essays. She also is available outside of class to look over your essays which really help!

She is a caring teacher who wants her students to do well. She gives good feedback, and she will help you improve your paper if you ask her. She is incredibly kind to her students. She is very flexible with her topics for the papers and is understanding if you cannot make class; you can still get an A if you miss an in class assignment.

Mrs. Riddell is my favorite professor at the college. She always lets you know when things are due and gives you plenty of time to do them. She sets guidelines for the topics but gives you room to choose one you can relate to. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She makes it clear what she expects from the very beginning.

Grades fairly

I personally loved having Mrs. Riddell as my professor, she graded my papers very fairly and gave great feedback that helped to improve my future papers. This class was very essay heavy, but Mrs. Riddell gave clear instructions on what she wanted, and you could email her if you had any issues. Overall I would definitely take this class again.

For the time she was working at the college, she was a pretty good professor. She was my first class I had ever taken at the college. It's as easy as a high school Honors English class. I never read out of the textbook and passed. Fair grades. Communicated with me when assignments didn't upload correctly.

Professor Riddell was great teacher. She really want you to succed and learn. Do your work, put the effort and you would do great in her class.

I really enjoyed this class. Do not get me wrong you need to work hard and spend time doing essays and writing assignements but she really wants you to succed. I recommend her.
