Ms Rieger is the worst teacher I have ever had. She thinks she is teaching a Master's level class. She is extremely slow in responding to questions (this is an online class!) Also, exams are written and you do not receive any feedback.
This was an extremely difficult class! I do believe Ms. Rieger thought she was teaching a Masters level class. Her tests are impossible and she grades very harsh on all assignments.
This class is hard, the tests are hard, and the book is/can be hard BUT Ms.Rieger overall is a good teacher. She is willing to help and makes class intresting. Use your study guide and ask questions during class time. Keep her talking or else take a quiz!
Ms. Rieger was very helpful and brilliant, but don't kid yourself, her class is tough. For anyone planning to major in History, she is a must. The book really sucked.
I think Ms.Rieger is a really good teacher. She has a good way of explaining things and she's funny (which is good because history can be pretty boring at times). The class is tough. You actually have to listen/study. She's very helpful.
Gives us a test the day we return from spring break? Horrible teacher, study hours for tests and still barely clinging onto an A. Class has a FAR left wing agenda. Asks the class tons of questions that can't possibly know(even if you preread).
It is not an easy ride, but Ms Rieger is the BEST instructor I've ever had. She is an animated lecturer, and the most learned person I've ever known. She is really cool and lots of fun.
You should take a course with this professor. She is challenging, engaging and will give you a whole new view of our nation's history. The only downside is that sometimes it is a little hard to concentrate in her class because she is so darned cute.
Grades wayyyyy too harsh. Tests are unbelievably complicated; take this class only if you are not taking any other classes (and if you don't have a job, family, friends or life), you might just do well considering you must devote all your time to it just to get a "C". :)
WELCOME to COLLEGE folks! I love this lady's energy and devotion to education. She is not easy but she is fair and she KNOWS her history. Love that we don't have to memorize dates. Grade scale is tough, but college level.
Didn't like her. She think's that her class is the only one your taking.Work load was ridiculous.Find another teacher.
Guess what everyone, this is COLLEGE. She is a brilliant Instructor!! She is very knowledgeable of our History. Excellent lecturer, and she makes you love History through her animation. Yes the class was tough, but College grades shouldn't be handed to you. You have to work for things you want.
A very fun class, but definately not an easy A. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot, but it was a little hard to keep up with with 5 other classes and a job! Definately a good professor though, and a worthwhile class!
DO NOT TAKE IN SUMMER! I expected to study and work a lot but too much work overload! Most multiple choice questions where ridiculous and unnecessarly hard. Her grading system didn't give you a chance when I studied hard and enjoyed the learning. It's hard to volunteer and work 40+ hours. Very dissapointed in my grade. Will not recommend.

This teacher has a dreadful disregard for the workload of the student. Over 100 pages of an over-factual Text PLUS over 130 pages of Documents on the CD required to be absorbed to the most insignificant facts, each for the four test per term PLUS a 3000 word paper submission. Last class for my AA and never had this much work in any other class!
She has a lot of energy, and she loves history. She does require you to work for your grade, but she tries to make it fun.

Yes, the tests are hard and the study guide looks like a lot, but if you connect the terms.. it really does come together. I think her lectures were very helpful, I got a D on the first test, and because I did all the extra credit, I got an A in the course.. she will help if you ask.

She is so awesome!!! funny and smart and knows everything there is to know about history!! I recommend her if your going to take History!!!
Class was challenging. There were a lot of facts to memorize in preping for the test. The teacher was easy to contact and ask for help.
Awesome teacher! Lecture was very interesting and captivating.
I took Mrs. Rieger's online class. The only difficult part were the test. They are not easy and if you do not study can require a lot of time. She offers some extra credit quizzes which helps. The assignments basically consists of Discussion Board Questions.
Wonderful teacher. Very energetic. Keeps class interesting. Very Professional, but fun.
Wonderful!
Wonderful teacher! I took both of her history classes, and wish that she'd teach more. Yeah, she lectures, but she's very entertaining if you follow along with the story. You HAVE to know the definitions on the study guides to pass the test! As long as you take good notes and keep the guide close by you'll do good! I would definatly recommend her!
Wonderful, energetic professor. Highly recommend. Class is not a cake-walk, but professor is most helpful. Test stress not an issue, since the class offers ways for students to earn points if taking a test isn't your strong point
This class was awesome. Really fun teacher that keeps class interesting. Material wasn't easy, but she is very lienient in grading her quizzes.
Not an easy course. She demands her definitions, and even though she doesn't stand on a soap box, she lets you know it's there. Over all, good teacher, though her handwriting is horrible.
Ms. Rieger is simply amazing. She is fun, engergetic, and a joy to be around. Her class is very information intensive, but you dont have to remember dates!!! Her tests are very easy if you have read the material and didnt sleep in class. the book report sucks but what do you expect. This teacher is a must if you need AMH 2010 or 2020
Ms. Rieger was great! I enjoyed taking both her history classes. You must study, but overall she gives you all the information you need and is there if you need anything!
Dr. Reiger makes history very interesting, clear, and borderlined fun for those of us who aren't particularly interested in the subject. Her class is very difficult. Her quizzes are not very difficult, but her exams are brutal. She is extremely helpful, though. If you have any questions, materials or projects, she'll help you, no problem.
Professor Rieger is an absolute pleasure to have as a teacher. Yes, the tests are difficult. But if you pay attention to the study guide, and learn from the mistakes you make on the first test (b/c you will make mistakes) then it gets easier through the rest of the class. History is a hard subject to make interesting, but she pulls it off!
Amy Rieger is an absolute pleasure to have as a teacher. She is well organized, prepared, and helpful. She brings a passion for teaching that most professors lack, and an enthusiasm for American history that is not found very often. One of the best classes I've taken, and certainly the best professor I've had
I have honestly been dreading History. I saved it for my last semester and actually really learned a lot in Ms. Rieger's class. She would make a great drama teacher! Her lectures are very entertaining (and helpful) and her tests come STRAIGHT from her study guide. Don't get me wrong, it IS a hard class but I definitely would take her again!
WONDERFUL TEACHER!!! she is so much fun to listen to. you really do learn a lot because she is very animated and its practically impossible to doze out. shes really nice and kinda crazy but in a good kinda way! the tests are kinda hard but if you really pay attention and study you will do fine =)
Great Teacher.
Awesome teacher! Makes history a lot of fun. If you listen and put effort into the homework you'll pass with an A. She wants to see her students succeed, so if you don't understand something make time to see her. I took her for 2020 as well and got a B but I didn't put in much effort. She gives you a study guide for the tests, know them!
This class took a little work. Tests werent very easy so much sure you know can identify all terms. Also do all extra credit if possible they can really make a difference with out that i would have got a C but instead i got an A other then that try attend every class and to take notes.I learned alot
This is one of the most amazing professors that I have ever had in my life!! Her class isn't a walk in the park tho, it is a bit demanding. But she is wonderful and makes sure you understand the material! I recommend this course!!
Probably shouldn't have taken this class online, I don't feel I took much away overall from this course but thats more my fault then the teacher. Pretty simple class, tests were a little tricky, but if you're looking to take American History online, take it with Mrs. Rieger
There is ALOT of reading. A chapter (sometimes 2) a week that are each about 30 very large pages, and then you have to read another book on top of that and do a review. Its been really hard to keep up, so i end up just skimming through for important stuff. Beware that there is a "creative project" due also, along with a 5 page(!!) reflection.
A liberal teacher that teaches much revisionist history. It doesn't help that the textbook is written in this style as well. She tries to not let her liberal bias come out but it does. She seems to only know what the textbook says because when questioned about something related to but not in the text she scrambles for answers or repeats herself.
I took the class online. Its a shame the poser below me thinks actual US history is liberal revisionist history, some people are just dumb. Anyways, she was objective from my standpoint and it was a pretty easy class, nothing too demanding and the tests were all pretty easy. I would recommend her if you're looking to take history.
MOST amazing professor ive ever had at BCC. I'd recommend her anyday! Her class is tough and theres a lot of work to be done but she provides an excellent study guide and excellent lectures! If you want to know anything about American History take this class!!!
I would absolutely reccomend this class to anyone that wants a better understanding of the way things are in the US. Her lectures were always entertaining, and the information sticks. I know that I have a 100% better understanding of the actions and reactions that shaped the country. She made even the boring information come to life. AWSOME TEACHER
Very funny teacher. The lectures are enjoyable, but there is a lot of reading HW & HW in general. Do the 'On This Day' extra credit. No date memorization, but detail-oriented test questions. Frequent quizzes. Do not expect this to be an easy A class. Mrs. Rieger is biased, but she does try to be objective, or if not, at least fair.
She is enthusiastic and interesting. She is the best teacher that I've had. She actually knows what she is teaching, and she incorporates what she is currently researching into the lecture. I wish I could take another class with her, but I am graduating! TAKE HER!!
Professor Rieger is awesome! Loved her class and her lectures. Her lectures are fun to listen to because she makes history interesting. You have to listen though because that's how you get your notes. However, she is a lot of fun (and from Minnesota and she won't let you forget it!) TAKE HER CLASS! You will need your textbook for two projects.
She was not easy. I could tell she was a democrat too from the way she talked. She is not easy to understand and likes to talk for her own entertainment during class..you have to read ALOT to do well in the class.
Worst online teacher ever. Terrible communication and far too much coursework for a three credit class you are responsible for reading the entire textbook and writing three research papers, one of which is ten pages long. Tests are multiple choice and HARD words her questions badly and all exams are timed. Do not take her class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took riegers class online and the material is very difficult. She is not very clear on what to study for when it comes to tests and the 3 projects are very difficult. I did well in her class because I worked hard and asked lots of questions. She is very slow when it comes to grading but she is a very nice professor
Ms. Rieger is very passionate about the subject matter, which makes her lectures very interesting and funny. She gives many quizzes, but towards the end of the semester they become extra credit, along with 6% xtr cred if you do simple assignments. Her tests are hard -- the papers not so much, only time consuming. I would very much recommend her.
Tests can be hard. B's on tests are easy to get by completing study guide + reviewing it (w/o studying for tests you will fail). Quizzes are incredibly easy--never studied once and got A's on all. The three papers are easy to complete. The last is just slightly time consuming, though. Many opportunities for extra-credit! Take advantage of that!
Rieger is kind, but her online course is terrible. Tests were so poorly worded as to be difficult to understand. All tests but the final were open book, yet the class exam average was a C; that tells you something. Who ever heard of open-book, multiple-choice exams being difficult? Ten-page paper due finals week was tedious and pointless. Skip her.
Prof. Rieger is very passionate and knowledgeable about teaching history. She is hilarious and lectures are easy to stay awake in. Exams aren't 'easy', per se, but studying her guides and reading chapters will afford you a passing grade (based on your effort). Do every extra credit assignment offers, that's how I pulled an A.
Her classes were always really fun, she is funny, engaging and really passionate about history. 4 tests and 3 research papers, tests are on lectures and textbook topics. Research papers weren't too hard. She does not test on dates, focuses on concepts. Offers plenty of extra credit so even if you do bad on a test or two, you can still get an A.
Her class online was really easy to take. As long as you print the study guides before each section and read the chapters, it's easy to do good on all the assignments. The only downfall was that there wasn't assignments due weekly so it's really about pacing yourself.
Hard class. Missed the first test and got a 0 and have never caught up. Three papers that took me each on average 8 hours. New textbook this year which she had not updated her tests from. Random questions that weren't in the reading. A nice professor but too hard of a class in my opinion.
She only makes you do 3 papers but make sure you do them! I didn't and I failed. She's an awesome teacher! I am the reason I didn't pass, NOT her! DO THE PAPERS!!! She also likes to do pop quiz's so go everyday.
She was overall okay. I loved the passion she had in her lectures, very loud, different, and weird but in a good way. It was hard to not listen to what she had to say because she is great at interacting with the material. Has ALOT of pop quizzes, always be ready. Kind of surprising with the tests you never know WHAT it will be on.
This professor is awesome! She's so hilarious and makes her lectures fun. Not a hard class at all as long as the student keeps up with the reading.
I took this class online and I love history but this class I found really difficult. She has study guides but most of the questions on the 4 exams were not really on the study guides. Exams are timed and have 10 essay questions. 3 papers to write. Holidays weren't built into the term. Straightforward class. You know whats expected. Its just a lot.
I've had her for US History to 1877 and from 1877, and both classes were pretty awesome. She has some really funny lectures, and is really easy to get along with. I don't even like history, but she teaches it in a way I can remember. Her quizzes are easy, and she offers extra credit for "on this day in history".
There are four test and a take home final exam. You take quizzes once a week which are pretty easy. The test are pretty hard and she grades them hard. The test consist of 50 multiple choice some short answer and then one essay question. Her lectures are great you can really tell she loves history. The three papers aren't to bad.
Awesome teacher
She was an okay teacher, but takes a really long time to grade papers. Frustrating because you may turn in a paper a day or so late, she takes points off, but took her two weeks to have it graded. If you don't have the book, will be kind of difficult but you can pass without it. TAKE ALL TESTS AND DO ALL PAPERS ON TIME. If its late, you get a zero.
This is a tough class to take online. Her test are not really closely related to the suggested study guide. For the final you would be better off to study her test leading up to the final than using the study guide.
I took her online class and it was pretty easy. There are no weekly assignments (all assignments due on day of tests). 3 medium sized essays and a proctored final exam with many questions not on study guide. still relatively easy class imo, I logged into the class not even once a week and studied day of tests and got a high B overall
Ruined my love of history. I took this class online so all I had was a rather limited textbook. Her tests are written as if you had the chance to hear her lectures. VERY obscure questions. We wrote 4 papers which were fairly easy but her four unit tests were impossible!!
Mrs. Reiger is an amazing professor who inspired me to learn more about us history. Usually I hate the subject but she made it fun and interesting. I would reccomend her 100 times over.
She is very spunky and outgoing, but her class is difficult. If you are planning on not paying attention and skipping this is not the class for you. She has quizzes at the end of the class and if you miss them then you do not get to make them up. Her tests are extremely hard partly because you never know what to study.
Online class was difficult. Study guides aren't as useful as I would have hoped for the tests and the test questions even the multiple choice are difficult. You have to do a lot of analysis/reasoning versus remembering facts from the text. She allows creativity in the writing and offers extra credit assignments but this course is still hard.
Professor Rieger's personality&character makes history easier to learn. As long as you pay attention in class, take notes, and read the textbook you'll pass just fine. There are three essays, but they are pretty straight forward and not too difficult. Be prepared for quizzes. There are two different extra credit options that are super easy to do.
Had Ms Rieger for AMH 2010 & I loved her class so much I took her again for AMH 2020 Shes so enthusiastic & you can tell she loves teaching & her students She makes the class really easy to be interested in & learn She has 4 exams, 3 papers & a final The exams arent hard if you pay attention, the papers are fairly simple & the final was take home
Prof. Amy Rieger is absolutely hilarious and I had never had such an amazing experience learning history till I took her! She does a wonderful job covering the material in the book, but expect to read the assigned pages before her class lecture because she gives pop quizzes on the material. Tip: She LOVES Beauty and the Beast & Minnesota Vikings.
I took her for an online history class and she was hard to get a hold of, took normally 2 days to respond to an email and wasn't very friendly overall.
When she's not ranting on about her liberal views, the class isn't too bad. Lectures aren't too boring even though they are very scattered and she often gets off topic. Study guides aren't much help so make sure to study the quizzes (lots of quizzes but they're easy). Also do the 'on this day in history' extra credit - really brings your grade up
I loved this class! As long as you at least skim over the textbook and pay attention for a majority of the class time, this class is very easy. There are 3 papers, but they're super easy and you can get bad grades on the quizzes and still pass with an A. She's super funny and makes history actually interesting!
The woman's extra credit is worth an ENTIRE letter grade. And I'm lazy. Just pay attention or read the chapters later if you want to sleep in class. She basically tells you every single thing on the exam and quizzes. Prepare for 3 essays though. The first two are easy, but the last one is a pain since you gotta travel somewhere "historical". GGEZ.
Study textbook definitions, lecture notes, and the study guide she gives you for each unit and you will pass. Extra credit is worth up to half a letter grade, DO IT! Essays are not too difficult, she usually tells you about the "pop quizzes," and the tests are manageable if you actually study. Love Rieger, she's funny and keeps it interesting.
If you dont participate youll have a quiz. Gordon rule projects were pretty easy.
Was a little worried about the way she teaches because she doesn't go in order of the textbook chapter but she is a very good professor. Her voice is not boring and she explains things well. She is pretty humorous but you do need to take notes AND study in order to pass. Test material is straightforward.
Shes really passionate about what she teaches. You can tell by how enthusiastic she is. She also adds humor into things too. The class is easy, if you pay attention during the lecture, take notes, and do the chapter reading. Also there is a quiz every week so be prepared for that.
I loved the online history class I took with Amy Rieger. I really felt like my opinions on different things in history really mattered, instead of just listening to a professor lecture on their view of history. I learned a lot, and if you put in a little work, you'll find it easy to get an A and to enjoy the class
I took this class online, and this teacher is TERRIBLE. You have weekly reading and one discussion per week. After every 4 chapters you take an at home exam, which the posted study guides DO NOT help whatsoever. She tells you if you cant find the answer in the book to google it. The final exam is proctored. She posts no lectures. She is terrible!
While she does make history sound fun, she is extremely hard. Tests make up most of your grade and for every test the class avg was a C or lower. Lessons while interesting are extremely hard to follow or absorb. Extra credit is the only way to get an A (service learning). Even more frustrating is I had an 89.5 and she refused to round up.
Ms. Rieger is great and manages to make history fun. She gives multiple extra credit opportunities worth either a half or full letter grade. Her tests are somewhat difficult, but she gives you a study guide with the topics you will need to know. There are two essay assignments, four unit tests, and weekly quizzes. Don't stress though, just study.
I had her for AMH2010 and AMH2020 and loved it. She's nice and tries to keep the lectures fun and interesting. Her tests are easy if you study and are prepared for short answers/a short essay question. She's a super easy grader on the 3 Gordon Rule essays as long as you do them half way right. She's one of the main reasons I want to teach history.
A real peach!
Class material and expectations are clearly outlined in the syllabus; if you don't like history not a class for you; if you love American History, awesome class. Bit of reading, many DBs w/ set # of responses required, papers to write but you will gain an immense amount of knowledge you will acquire by doing the assignments. Great Class & Prof.
Wonderful Professor! Going back to school 30 years after HS was challenging. The syllabus is clear: 3 GR essays, weekly 10 to 20 questions quizz, monthly chapter exam. Most of it is covered in class but I found that reading the book was very helpful. Extra credits available. Talk to her if issues come up. Interesting and interactive class.
She is a good professor. She communicates well, usually writes back within 2 to 3 days. She is very informative and gives extra credit. I thought the class would be hard because to me history is boring , which the book is super boring so google helps with test. My grade was an A. Do all the extra credit. and use the tests to study for the final
Easy class if you read the chapters assigned. DF responses are easy to do. 2 papers that are at least 4 pages in length (gives you lots of freedom to write about what you want though), and 4 unit tests plus a proctored final.
Easy class if you do the work. 4 discussion for each of the 4 sections, 2 essays, 4 tests and 1 proctored final. The book was optional in my opinion, you can use internet sources to answer the discussion posts. Just do the work and you'll pass no problem.
Her class is only easy online, if you want a real challenge I recommend taking her in person. Theres not many things that she grades on, and the exams are very difficult, beware using her study guides as they dont include most things on the test.
Online class that requires a lot of reading about the history. 2 essays are mandatory. Weekly discussion posts and 5 tests (final included).Fair but a bit disconnected from the class when it comes to feedback. Impossible to get in contact with
This was my second class with Professor Rieger and I will miss her teaching. She is very passionate about history and makes you want to participate too. Reading chapters before class makes it easier as the course goes along at a quick pace. I was never bored! Syllabus is comprehensive, 4 units: 3 quizzes leading to unit exam, 2 papers & home Final.
She really is a great teacher. I looked forward to going to here class most of the time and her test are super easy if you look over your quizzes and notes a little bit before hand. There was one day that i did miss due to the PSAT but if you read the textbook you'll be fine if you miss a class.
Professor Rieger is very bubbly and lectures A LOT. But, she makes it interesting. She tends to talk fast but you can understand her clearly. Make sure to do the extra credit. It really helps your grade. Theres a quiz worth 5-10 points every week but if you study youll do well. Take good notes but no need to read the book. My favorite class ever.
Every chapter you will have a quiz and a test. She is not a bad teacher. When she does lectures they are not on power point she has a paper of list of categories that she goes over really fast. Hard to know what to take notes on. I just wrote down everything on the bored. There are two essays that are required for the class.
Professor Rieger was awesome! I have never liked History or lectures but she made them both very likeable. Her lectures were never boring, and sometimes funny. I encourage you to take notes during lectures because that material will DEFINITELY show up on the tests. If you study your lecture notes and study guides, you will do fine.
Professor Rieger was the best professor ever. She is clear with expectations and doesn't give a lot of unnecessary work. 1 post weekly, reply to one student weekl. Very interesting topics. Test were very simple, read the chapters and test were clearly from the book. One research project and one essay, very good topics and she is not a tough grader.
Before choosing this Professor I went on to rate my professor but the reviews don't match my experience. The weekly test was only written responses and the study guide provided did not match the final. The study guide said there would be 60 questions but the actual test had 71. I felt that the test was set up to fail me.
LOTS OF READING FOR ONLINE. I cannot stress that enough there was soooooo much reading. Quiz and discussion every week. I thought I was doing well but I ended up with a B, make sure you do extra credit and study for test those little points matters. And DONT SKIP ANY DISCUSSION POST
Professor Rieger has many tests and half of the questions are not in the book. You would physically have to find them on the internet. The tests don't match up with the chapter your on there are usually questions from the chapter ahead so make sure you are a chapter ahead of her tests.
Professor Rieger motivated me in a way most online classes are incapable of doing. The assignments and discussions were thought-provoking. One issue I had is that her quizzes/tests aren't updated for the moving of information between editions. Every time there'd be a couple of questions on material that hasn't been covered. Otherwise, great class!
Professor Rieger is the absolute best teacher I have had at EFSC. Her lectures was always entertaining and I never felt upset about knowing I had her class that day. The workload may seem hard sometimes, but if you just take notes during the lectures and refer to the text, it is a fairly easy class to pass. I highly recommend taking Prof. Rieger!
She makes her lectures so fun and makes the class laugh, her tests are in person but open note and book. The exams are online and there is an easy discussion question each week. Two writing assignments and extra credit opportunities. She's easy on grading and gives you her expectations which are not hard.
Prof Rieger makes lectures very entertaining. She gives pop quizzes in class but she let us use the internet sometimes (and they were all very easy). Exams were on canvas. Only HW was a discussion question weekly. 2 essays but both are very easy. I bought the textbook but never had to use it. If you do the work and come to class, youll get an A
Class is easy if you do the work. There's weekly discussion posts and untimed open book quizzes. Actually read the book because it has all the answers, plus you'll learn the most. Essays aren't hard if you put in some effort and can do research/MLA. Prof is not too bad - funny but can be a little racist/insensitive. Overall, good but not great.
She is a great professor! I thought a history class would be insanely boring, but Miss Rieger lectures were very interesting and informative. Two 4-page "projects" (i.e., papers) are required--one at midterm and one at the end of the semester. She also offers extra credit for participation in service learning.
I have taken her twice and love her. She gave us a couple of extra credit problems. She let our class use our notes on everything even the final. She made all tests online. Quizzes were taken in class. I would read each chapter ahead of time so you know what she is talking about.
I really enjoyed her class. It wasn't too difficult but it's would be hard to complete the tests if you didn't read the textbook. Everything had really clear grading criteria and I learned a lot!
Mrs./Ms. Rieger (idk if she is married lol) was a great professor. She was very spunky and showed great passion for history. She could easily teach children the subject. She was a very easy grader and gave a ton of extra credit assignments. At the very end she allowed us to make up any assignments we missed. It helped boost my grade a lot.
My experience did not match the other reviews. Excessive writing. No lecture videos or ppts. You MUST read the 100+pg chapters. Every week DB & quiz due, only short answer questions! avg of 12hrs per week just for DBs and quizzes. 14 quizzes, 16 DBs with 6 responses, 2 4pg papers, 4 Unit Exams, midterm, and a final (all non-proctored). slow grader.
She was good with the material, but had a lot of weekly reading chapters in the textbook, DB questions, and quizzes. Regardless of the class and workload itself, my rating is due to the way she handled my grandmother's passing. Her grading and responses to emails take very long and she had barely any sensitivity towards my personal situation.
She does not care about you. She gets to sit at home and let the computer grade, but won't unlock a test to help pass a mandatory class. Life gets in the way and she does not understand nor care. 99% of ESFC teachers are helpful. Rieger is the 1%.
Solid professor that provides communication and feedback every week. The only thing the held me back in the class were assignments randomly due on weekdays with no option for completing if you are unaware of the assignment due. She is leniant with grading if completed on time, but if late, do not expect her to be nice.
Ms. Rieger was a really amazing teacher. I took an online class and expectations for the course were clear. Lots of writing (two essays a semester, writing based quizzes throughout the course and a lot of group questions/discussions), but she's a fair grader. Every time I interacted with her she was kind and willing to answer questions.
I enjoyed this class. However, there is ALOT of reading and the quizzes can be lengthy! The professor is nice and understanding! Always gives good feedback. Just stay on top of assignments and this class will fly by.
The professor is fine but honestly, this is not an easy A. You have to stay consistent and do good in every assignment. Each week there is a study plan, quiz, and discussion question. This could take hours and I feel like there is so much work for a class that should be relatively easy. Do not skip assignments if you want an A and do extra credit.
Professor Rieger is great! Her class entails lots of reading and assignments within the textbook. There was usually a quiz and discussion every week. She offers extra credit and is very helpful. Definitely take her class!
Professor Rieger was an amazing professor. Her lectures were hilarious and energetic. The class is very reading heavy. I didn't do most of the readings or even some quizzes and I barely passed. Don't make my mistake! Do the reading, believe me it helps. I also had her for AMH2020 and it is about the same. Super fun professor!
Professor Rieger is efficient in maintaining contact with students and keeping everyone updated. I took this class online and the workload was plentiful, but there were plenty of extra credit opportunities to get a good grade. I would definitely recommend taking this class with Professor Rieger!
Ms. Rieger is a great professor. There are weekly quizzes and 3 unit tests. Her final is fairly easy. She gives a few extra credit opportunities, they can really benefit your grade if you do them. You're supposed to read, but really if you pay attention to her lectures and utilize the study guides provided before your unit test you will be fine.
She is an amazing teacher!! Her lectures are super entertaining and she is a nice and understanding teacher. I took her FTF option, so all the waymaker assignments were for extra credit, which really helped out my grade. Her exams are open notes and one project is required. Would def take her again!
Professor Rieger's class was engaging, her lectures, her notes, and her expectations were very clear and she gives ample opportunity to succeed. , I took her course over the summer so it was a bit condensed, and there was a lot of reading every week but overall I can say that this is the FIRST TIME that I have enjoyed history! Take her class!
They were decent
This was my first year in dual enrollment as well as the first class I had taken along with Speech. I can not express how nice this teacher was. Just to give you an idea, I missed the entire second quarter test. A whole 70 points because of my idiocy. And I still got an 88%. She is a nice grader, and gives you extra credit each week. Easy learn.
This class was great! I've taken two classes with this Professor and got A's in both of them. She lectures every class except for tests, which aren't hard to pass. There is an essay component for each test though, this class requires writing. You are supposed to read the book, but honestly I didn't either time and still had an A.
I loved Professor Rieger! 10/10 Fair teacher and she was really funny in class. 0 complaints
Really understanding and funny! She played music from the era we would be learning about. She does weekly quizzes, but they're pretty straightforward.
This class was super easy in my opinion as long as you listened and took notes you'll be ready for the test at the end of the week.
Professor Rieger is great! I have finished my semester with her yet but she has been amazing so far! Quizzes are pretty frequent but as long as you pay attention and take notes you will be okay.
Professor Rieger's class is engaging and entertaining. Lots of extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for study prep!
Prof. Rieger is AMAMZING!! Her lectures are funny, animated, and never makes class boring. There are lots of quizzes but they are easy if you are paying attention. 3 open note Unit tests + an online final, un-proctored. 1 paper. There is interactive reading assignments every week, you don't have to read, just answer the questions. LOVE HER!
Weekly Quiz and a 4 page critical thinking paper. 3 in class tests, final is online at home. Do textbook assignments and pay attention during lectures then you will pass the class.
Spent more time as an activist for the democratic party and was very clear about her hatred for President Trump. She clearly has TDS
Genuinely, the best professor I have ever had. She is so amazing, and genuinely cares so much for her students. Almost every class was a lecture but Professor Rieger makes them so interesting and fun to learn! I would recommend this class to absolutely anyone. You can tell she truly understands what she is teaching, and cares about educating.
Professor Rieger does not grade things. We had a project due on March 30th and it was not graded until 2 months later. It's very hard to study for tests when one doesn't know what they got wrong. OH AND THE TESTS!!!! There will be things on the test that has not ever been covered in the textbook. Beware. Not the worst, but far from the best.
A democrat
Class discussions are great and meaningful, she's hilarious and keeps you engaged during class. She does tend to include/ask information about the topic during class discussions that are not found in the online textbook, so doing additional research on the chapters and topics will set you up for success.
