She uses Blackboard and is straightforward. Her exams are straight from the powerpoint slides that she uses and provides on BB. And did I tell you that she is HOT!!! Her lectures are fast paced and she makes SOC interesting. Did I say she is HOT which makes class definitely easy on the eyes. Did I say she was HOT!!! Excellent instructor!!!

I loved her class! I found it to be very interesting. She is very strict with late work and will not accept it even if it is one class period late. Also, if you are conservative politically or are in criminal justice, you may have problems with her views on such things as the death penalty, etc., but it is still a great class even if you disagree.

Open-minded, uses powerpoints and has ALL slides available for print. Provides thorough review sheets, though some things aren't included (which appear on tests). Very responsive to class needs and always available for an open-minded 1st or 2nd opinion. Talks about Detroit EVERY DAY, but oh well. I got an A and as long as you pay attention u can 2

Easy A, if you are remotely competent. There were a lot of people in my class that were not, if she rolled her eyes at you then you are one of them.

She is awesome. Don't take her class if you can't meet deadlines. Don't insult her because YOU screwed up. If you have a death in your family take an incomplete...that is what I did.

Shes awsome I dont know what some of these people are talking about. She explains things very well, very intersting, and post all the power points on black board and all the assigments exams etc. at the beginning of the semester. So if you cant do a paper thats assigned about a month in advanced, and cant turn it in on time thats your own fault.

Awesome Prof. Very refreshing to see such an educated prof. with real life experiences she can tie into class lectures. Extremely kind, but don't be fooled, she grades strict. Pay attention to syllabus and be responsible for yourself, she does not hold any hands.... Your syllabus is your bible!

Dr. Amy is a really nice lady. She is also easy on the eyes. A couple of strict rules apply; no no no no late work. You have been warned. Also, cite everything you write in papers. She as well as the other instructors expect you to write like a college student. MLA format. Other than that go to class print out the power points and add the examples in class to help you study.

I took her for both 201 & 202. She was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She knows her stuff & is very nice & helpful. She didn't make us buy the books. And her exams are right from the reviews. I would recommend anyone take her classes.

Book is not needed, just print out the powerpoint slides she puts on blackboard, bring it to class, and take notes. Attendance is not mandatory. Exams are online, very easy. Dr. Amy is really cool. She is fairly young so she definitely talks with the class (like we are equal to her) and not AT the class. She is funny and nice, and best of all she has a lot of real world experience. The class itself is easy just pay attention and read the powerpoints. Take her!!!

She's funny, very well-versed, a wealth of amusing / relevant / insightful personal anecdotes, straightforward in her requirements, and a fair grader. She runs her classes similar to a university class. If you're attentive and keep up with the reading, you'll do just fine.

She's one of my favorite professors at TCC. She's really sweet, cultured and hilarious. I found her lectures to be very interesting, and she really involves the students. We had a total of four exams and two research papers. She's willing to help those who need it and answer any questions you may have. You should definitely take this instructor!

Dr.Amy is great. She has a lot of great stories about her life and traveling, most related to the topics. She's super nice, and funny. She also brings donuts! 2 papers, 4 tests. The last test is the 'final' but it's really just a test like the other three on units. I didn't think I was going to like the class but it's been my favorite. Superb!

Mrs. Amy is always in a cheery, upbeat mood and is pleasant to her students. She teaches with powerpoints and allows time for us to take notes. She does tell a lot of interesting stories, but she is relating them to sociology. Honestly, they kept me engaged and interested in the class more :) Would recommend for sure!

Really, really enjoyed this online course. Professor is very responsive and clear in explaining her expectations. A little bit of reading is required to take the quizzes (1 quiz every 2 weeks)but is minimal and easy to understand. Would definitely recommend this professor.

Very interesting! As per the Palestinian comment below-the professor was referring to a specific individual that was Palestinian by birth and Christian. This was part of a discussion of roles one takes during their lifetime and labels that we use in society.

Taking SOC 202 ONLINE for this sem. VERY easy, no need textbook. Quick responses. Very nice and fun reading :)

I loved coming to her class. She's an awesome teacher! Her lectures almost made you forget you were in class! Test were simple and so were the writing assignments. I'm taking her again for 202!

Very easy course. Took her class online for SOC 202. 10 DB Post, 2 Exams, and 10-11 Quizzes. If you complete a quiz & DB every week(and don't follow her syllabus), you'll finish all your assignments before the end of the semester. Responds to emails in a timely manner. I would recommend this course to anyone.

She really, really cares about students. I wasn't sure what to do with my life and she helped me figure it out. I'm not a soc major but she's really there to listen and help.

Very straightforward class. Read the text, take the quizzes, write your paper, take the test, get the grade. It's as simple as that. If you do that then you will get an A+ like I did. The people who are complaining about Dr Ruedisueli simply didn't follow the syllabus and didn't put for the effort to getting a good grade, plain and simple.

There are two papers that are four pages each and four tests ( last one is the final). Notes and study guides are online. Pay attention and do the study guides and you will do great. :)

Very simple class (online). 11-12 Quizzes, 2 Tests, and 8-9 Discussion Boards. The only real warning I'd have to give is to keep a sharp eye out on the schedule. For the first half of the semester the schedule was quiz one week, discussion board post the next week. During the 2nd half it was random and costed me some points. So be wary.

There are 2 papers and 4 tests, her study guides are posted online, all you have to do in the class is pay attention and you'll pass, she makes it easy to learn and if you ever have a question you can ask, she actually cares about you and your grade, her lectures are very informative so don't miss class or you'll be missing lots of information

She is the most laid back teacher I've had. It's easy to see she has a thorough knowledge in what she's teaching and a ginormous love for Africa. She's super easy to talk to and really funny. Her assignments are pretty easy too and most of the exams. The only thing is to show up on time! It really bothers her if you're late

The overall best I mean best, she is an awesome professor and very engaging! The test may be a bit critical but overall she's great. We had to write two papers and I got a 100 on both, soooo easy.

Professor Ruediseuli is an awesome Sociology teacher. She loves to talk about real world examples that she has experienced personally in her lectures; which is great, considering that it helps you to better retain the info. Very witty, and funny too! If you are looking to fill an elective requirement into your schedule, then take this class.

She is awesome! She is very knowledgeable and has so much experience. She has so many stories to tell that relate to the lecture. She really cares how well you do in the class and how much you learn. she is there if you need any help with anything. Take any sociology class with her. DONT BUY THE BOOK.

You need to read the book in order to get all of the material for the tests. She purposely leaves material out of the lecture for you to do so. She assigns two papers rather than one long research paper. She's great and teaches many of the sociology classes, so take her if you can!

Professor Ruedisueli's class was an easy A. there are discussion boards, quizzes, midterm and a final. Nothing over the top. Just do the work and you will get an A. Would highly recommend

Dr. Amy is out of this world when it comes to lecturing. She's funny, smart, and very good at explaining whats going on. There is a fair amount of note taking, but it pays off when it comes to the exams (three). She seems to be an easy grader on papers (two), but don't expect to turn ANYTHING in late. Even with a 0/50 on a paper, I passed with an A

Dr. Amy knows her stuff. By far one of the best when it comes to lectures. Just show up to class, take notes, do the two papers she assigns, study for the exams, and you'll pass. Won't accept anything late but isn't a tough grader on the essays if you follow the directions. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing a sociology credit

Itwas very easy and the poster below clearly isn't ready for college if they think this Prof wasn't very helpful. Some students think profs should respond in five minutes to every email. Here's another hint,don't take an online class then complain Prof not "helpful"bc you don't have the book in time....

Very cool and interesting professor. Will tell you her experiences going to different countries that will relate to the subject of sociology. Doesn't give out homeowrk but you have two major research paper to write and will be a big part of your grade. Only gives out 3-4 tests and can really be common sense questions/answers

I'm taking this class right now and I love it! It's an easy A. I'm a sociology minor, and this is the best class I've never taken. The coursework isn't hard at all it's at your own pace for the quizzes and discussions. I highly recommend taking this class you will not regret it!

Lots of extra credit but it's given in class so you must attend. Tests given online if class is cancelled. Lectures were interesting and interactive. Four tests and two papers. Dr. Amy is very organized and grades go into Blackboard quickly. Overall, she is interesting, well traveled and has lots of cool stories to tell. Would recommend taking her.

Oh wow! Shes simply the best! You can use an old book for her class; dont buy a new book. You will have group project and test every week, but its open book, so its okay. Group discussion on Canvas. But overall, shes a great professor with so many great stories/experiences to tell.

Can't go wrong with this one. She has tons of field experience. Super funny, fantastic stories. The course itself doesn't follow the book too heavily. If you're resourceful, you can survive without it. If you can help it, don't procrastinate your presentation project. I'd encourage you to engage with this course and teacher. You could learn a lot.

Professor Amy was great!! I really enjoyed her lectures and she is really nice. The class is very easy if you review the slide notes. The tests are pretty much common sense with what is learned. There are 2 papers in this class and about 5 exams.

Nothing negative to say. I feel I didn't have to work hard in her class to get an A, but I learned a lot nonetheless. She's a very knowledgeable lady who wants the best learning experience for her students.

Some of my favorite lectures ever came out of this class. Dr. Ruedisueli is so interesting. She has been to so many places and has had so many experiences, and she uses them as examples in her lectures. Tests are online and open book. You have a presentation and paper, but you get to choose any topic related to anthropology.

Online class was asynchronous. No interaction. I enjoyed it. Each week has one quiz and one discussion board. Two papers total. Very easy and interesting class. Easy A. Pearson Revel access is listed as mandatory but I dont know why. I did NOT BUY OR USE ANY PEARSON MATERIAL throughout this class!

She is an expert in her field and the most passionate professor that I have ever had. She is so happy and engaging, its all about having a good time and learning some very interesting things along the way. Take her classes! She is such a great person to talk to.

Dr. Amy is so cool. Due to the pandemic, class was online via zoom but it was enjoyable regardless. She's literally been everywhere and applies her knowledge and experiences to her lectures. She's not a tough grader but firm on not accepting late work, there's open book exams throughout the semester and a project with a paper and a presentation.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr R. She is so smart and really wants the best for all of her students. Do the work and you should get an A. I can't say enough kind words about Dr. R. This was my second time taking her and I do not regret it. There are weekly discussions and assignments along with chapter exams. Textbook was required, but I didn't use it much. Her assignments are really interesting and I cannot recommend her enough!

Dr. R is very knowledgeable on all things sociology. Her tests are straight out of the book which is available online for free. Her lectures can be all over the place, and aren't tested on, but she is very informative and is more than happy to answer questions.

Dr. R is the coolest professor I have ever had! She has had so many interesting experiences and is always happy to talk after class about pretty much anything. Her tests (3) are open everything and based on the textbook. You have to give a 10 min presentation on anything anthropology related at the end of the semester.

Amy Ruedisueli is a great professor. I found this class to be very insightful. I learned so much. Read all of the materials, including the textbook, as you will need these for the four open-book and multiple-choice exams. However, again, you will want to read the textbook thoroughly.
