If you are really up for a challenge & want 2 actually learn alot w/ a great teacher & not just get an "easy" A,pick her courses. At first i was scared of her syllabus. it was jam packed with work for MAYMESTER! I was writing 2 and 3 papers a week along with evaluating the daily news & many other assignments.we had a debate our 3rd week! it rocked!

She is a goddess! Fabulous!

Mrs. Smith is a tough cookie but she is an awesome teacher. She will expect hard work from you so pay attention, do not miss class and take really good notes. She is very down to earth, knows the subject front and back, and I learned a ton in her class. Mrs. Smith Rocks! Highly recommended!!

Took this as an online course for the regular semester.HW was very easy, however, testes were HARD! Must use the full amount of time allowed to complete; and I am not a poor student.Got full points on all essays and hw but tests killed me. she did realize that tests were hurting most of the class so she offered 10 pts of xtra credit; what a joke!

She's a fun teacher. You talks really fast and drinks 1-2 RedBulls in class which makes her talk faster! Just tell her to slow down or repeat herself and she has no problem doing it. Her tests are hard but it IS over what she talks about in class. You have to take good notes!

Prof. Smith rocks. She gives facts rather than opinions, and presents them in an unbiased manner. I highly recommend her.

Everything in the test is from what she goes over in the class and the review sheet. but you need to know everything on that sheet. sometimes she'll tell you what she wants memorized and will be on the next test. fun class. learnt a lot.

Teacher is great, but the on-line test are extremly hard- it appears that in her lecture class you get a review, I would recommend taking her lecture class, unless you have a real good memory after reading 3 or 4 chapters at a time.

Fantastic teacher. She is very clear about what she expects, and it really is not hard at all to get an A. Follow the sylabus, don't miss anymore than 5 days, and go to test review day and you should ace the test. She also requires that you read a political book and write a review over it, but it was very easy. Her class was fun.

Very demanding teacher. Her mentality seems to be that this is the ONLY class you're currently taking. That's why she expects her students to be able to regurgitate back a whole list of politicians' names, even the miniscule details of legislations etc, and keeping up with current events. Tests aren't on scantron and many have no wordbanks/choices.

I taken both Mrs. Smith's Govt. classes 2301/2302 and just love the way she teaches. I knew nothing about Govt. and politics prior to her classes but after taking her I have learned alot. She is a tough teacher but how else would you learn about what goes on in the world. I have passed Mrs. Smith's name on to friends and family needing govt. class!

Tests are hard; she forces you to remember names of politicians. Mandatory book report (submit to turnitin.com), homework, forum participations, and a class debate. You must also talk A LOT in her class and be present in order to get a participation grade. If you are going to take Govt., avoid her; take Manna instead.

This was a fun class and a fun teacher. She is extremely helpful. She is always available for help via e-mail, usually responding within thirty minutes. Her tests require some studying but are basically the class notes. As a bonus, she is good looking.

She's a good teacher, one of the best i've had thus far. She makes things interesting and explains it in terms that you understand. Very laid back as well. Tests arent hard if you just did some studying. Sure there's names, but thats not the only thing on the tests. I'd recommend her to anyone. If she taught any other classes, i'd take them myself.

I absolutely loved having her as a teacher. She doesn't take any crap or excuses for not doing the work. Tests are over lecture so as long as you attend class, take notes, and do the assignments, you'll do fine. She likes to have the classes involved in the subject so you need to speak up. I wish I could have her teach all my classes!

Obviously, those negative comments seem to be from illiterate, uneducated people. Amy Smith is great, absolutely one of the best professors out there. She's highly knowledgeable about the subject and keeps the class interesting and funny. You obviously have to do the work to get a good grade. It's an easy class if you actually show up and speak up.

This teacher knows what she's talking about! She wont just give you facts and expect you to memorize, she knows how govt. and society work together. She's very reasonable, just be ready to do some work! She'll always grade fairly and appreciates effort. Her exams are challenging but that's a good thing. She is amusing as well and promotes opinion.

I loved Professor Smith! We began class informally discussing current events, which she always has a deeper understanding than any political commentator on television. Her lectures are moderately interesting and her exams could be more challenging. However, her personality alone is worth taking the class!

I also took her for 2302 just because she is so awesome! NO TEXT BOOK REQUIRED! not the easiest class I've had but definitely one of the most fun classes, does offer extra credit sometimes and very easy to learn from. I never thought I would know as much about government as I do because of taking this class. Take it and I promise you'll love it.

Mrs. Smith is an excellent teacher. She is very passionate about Govt. It was alot of work during the wintermester but it was knowledgeable and interesting. I REALLY perfer govt over history hands down. She is an incredible teacher and I recommend her to anyone.

If you are serious about college-going to class, taking notes, and simply just doing what she ask of you-you will pass. i dont know how simple i can make this she is a great professor! Great teacher i loved her. Test are easy if you study and if you do all the assignments you will do great, if you do get most of your "quizzes" at the beginning of class good. You will pass :). NO TEXT BOOK!..

When she first went over the syllabus i was kinda scared, but then after actually doing the work, it was actually very easy! I learned a lot in her class and actually enjoyed attending. If you take notes and do a 45 minute review of the review the night before, youll get an A. PLus shes kinda hot.

Took her over the summer, extremely nice and she knows the subject. NO book is required, but you have to take good notes. Test over the summer were all multiple choice. You do have to know names of politicians, but she tells you which ones you need to know. There is some work involved(5 2 pg papers)but as long as you do what is asked it's an easy A

She is a very GOOD TEACHER! I took both govt 2301 and 2302 with her and she is awsome! She doe not use the book. If you take good notes you will pass her test. Tehy are not hard if you attend class everyday. Her essays are 5 pgs but if you do it ahead of time is a piece of cake. Take her if you really wanna learn!

Prof Smith is awesome! The daily class consists of a quiz for 5 points on the notes you took the class before, current events, & lecture notes. She's big into participation, but if you speak up occasionally, do all 5 assignments/DBs, the one paper & study for the 3 tests a solid B would be cake. I made an A myself. NO BOOK! I highly recommend!

She does not require you to buy a book, but you will need to take your notes. She is fare in her grading and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. I learned a lot from her class and would highly recommend her. She has a broad outlook on Government and thinks critically which is why I really liked her class.

Great teacher! She's really helpful and the class is super fun! She doesn't require the textbook and as long as you take notes in her class, you'll be set for her tests, which are super easy. All in all, great teacher and easy class. Definitely recommend her to anyone!

Professor Smith is an amazing instructor! She likes to have the whole class involved in the lectures. Personally, I never really enjoyed any kind of history classes but I really enjoyed her class. I also learned a lot of the material that I didn't in GOVT 2301. I highly recommend her! OH, she does not require you to buy the textbook! :)

Professor Smith has got to be one of my favorite professors thus far! not only is she very clear with her material if she provides feedback so you don't miss the same points on your next assignments, the power points she provides for exam are a big help I recommend her to anyone! Not to mention thank her because I was mortified my first day.

If you follow the syllabus you will be fine!! Took online course and had no problems!! You are able to go at your own pace. The test and assignments are available when you are ready from the beginning of the course. I would take her again.

Her classes are loud if your classmates keep it interesting. I was nervous about talking but she gives everyone a chance. Say what's on your mind about an issue and current events! Take GOOD notes on her powerpoints because any side facts she says will be on the tests. Keep up with assignment dates on the syllabus :P

Very well organized assignments with clear expectations. Study the power points, read the syllabus, and stay on top of deadlines. I'll be taking another course instructed by her this semester. Great professor!

This is a very standard government class with minimal note-taking. The assignments are crucial to getting a good grade! Test questions come from discussions. Professor was always cheerful and enthusiastic about the subject, which helped me get through the more boring (to me) aspects of government. I would take her class again.

Professor smith is AWESOME! i always pick all of my professors from this site, and at first i was skeptical about Her, but MAN I WAS WRONG! Professor smith is really nice, and understanding. I had a Torn ACL while attending her class, and she understood every time i was late. Show up, participate.TAKE NOTES, do Homework, Study, and you make an A.

Ms Smith is Awesome! her class is very fun and she is extremely passionate. Funny and down to earth, I highly recommend her!

It is NOT an easy course, but it's not impossible to get a good grade. The tests are exactly what she teaches you, but it is a lot of information. She grades on attendance, so show up, and participation, so bring current events. Long story short if you show up, do solid on the assignments, participate in class and study for the tests, you get an A.

Straight forward government class, always great at grabbing attention and really laid back. Make sure to take good notes from the PPTs. Assignments are relatively easy, BE SURE to keep up with deadlines. Overall a VERY EASY A as long as you pay attention and show up. By far the funniest and best class I've taken!

Smith breaks federal government down for a babies understanding. She swears a lot, but totally down to earth. Book NOT required, NO extra credit opportunities, DO NOT miss any assignments you will NOT have to chance to go back and do them. Do the SLOs come to class, take GOOD notes (open note test), easy A. Attendance counts.

Easy A if you study and come to class. Only thing I didn't like is the fact that participation is a grade but the test are pretty easy for people who naturally understand Texas govt. NO TEXTBOOK

Amy Smith's online class was great! It is very easy and she does not grade hard. I took her for the summer semester and her work is very easy. There were 5 essay assignments, 3 discussions, and 4 exams. I would cerainly take her again.

Loved her, very intelligent and knows the subject matter.. She is NO NONSENSE.. don't try, don't pass. She will not keep telling you the same thing 1000 times so listen and importantly TRY, as you should. Helpful if you need it but don't expect special treatment if you try to pull up an F last min, she will have no pitty.. i love that about her!

The class is amazing, and the teacher is too!! she keeps class interesting at all times. She cares about you if you show effort in the class and will help you as long as you act like you care about your grade do not miss class it is an easy 100.

Since it was an online class, I did not have a chance to interact much with the professor, but she was very clear regarding what was expected of us as students. I chose her because of previous positive feedback, and I would recommend her without any doubts.

I took Prof Smith for GOVT 2305 and 2306 online and was a great experience. She is very clear about the deadlines and what she expects from the course. Her deadlines are very clear and that is one thing which she will never change for you. Tests were easy but the assignments needs 2-3 hours of time to get 100% . Over all it was a smooth class.

Took her for online class in spring. She is clear about the deadlines and criteria. All the units are open from day one and you can finish your work before deadline if you would like but not an hour after deadline. Assignments were lil time consuming , test were easy. DB were easy as well. Best part is everything is online and open book, helpful

This Professor is AMAZING! she is one hundred percent there for you! Everything is laid out in the beginning of the semester. She talks about current events and those will be on the test. She also talks more than what is on the powerpoint so take good notes. She has 5 essays but they are not graded on grammars-just what you write. The class easy!!

Amazeing online class and wish I could have taken this class in person. I learned so much as far as being aware of the political climate. She will expect you to turn in work on time which is what is expected in the real world. The test were rather confusing but if you study and write good opinion minded papers you will be successful.

One of the best classes I've ever taken! Class was always very engaging; both our daily discussion of current events and Prof. Smith's lecture kept everyone involved in what was going on. Grading was clear (4 tests, 5 essays & participation during current event part of class.) Tests come straight from lectures so won't pass if you don't show up.

Took her for both GOVT 2305 and 2306. Her class is really easy so long as you do all the assignments which aren't even hard, just essay intensive. The 4 exams aren't hard either. Just read the chapters and take notes you can reference later. She's very straightforward, no nonsense. Highly recommend taking her!

If you enjoy writing basic easy essays this class is for you. Assignments are super simple and straight forward. My first online class and I am truly happy. It's clear to see that she's passionate about this class. She teaches stuff that are important and you'll end this course with some new knowledge.

I took this class in the wintermester onine, it was a rush me. I did not have much interacting with the professor. But what I can tell just by reading the syllabus, she is straight forward. Make sure you do your work on time. Everything is pretty much self explanatory.

I had taken professor smith for GOVT 1301 and GOVT 2306 both online. She lays out the syllabus at the beginning and expects you to follow that. She doesn't change anything on there and posts the instructions you need to follow for the individual assignments. She gave us one extra credit at the beginning of the semester and clearly says that is it

Very clear about her criteria. Always responded to emails quickly. Adjusted test grades when questions were administered incorrectly. Applauded me defending myself on discussion boards. Big class project, running for office, was fun and informative. Didn't get perfect scores on tests or all discussion boards, still made easy A.

I love her! Her lectures are amazing! Shes keeps the lectures interesting. Taking notes are easy and so are her tests since the questions do come from the notes, so going to class is important. She has discussion boards and 3 SLOs which she gives you a rubic of what shes looking for, so read that and youll get an easy A.

This professor gives extremely detailed information about what she wants and how she wants it. Follow her instructions and you are all set. Fail to follow instructions and you will not pass. I spent a good amount of time writing papers, but it was all easy work; almost didn't need the textbook.

She is very organized and easy going. I learned a lot in her class.

I took her online, five-week summer class to boost my credit hours for the semester. If people take the time to read the required chapters, research for the discussion assignments, and study for the exams, they will have no trouble getting a good grade from Professor Smith. I highly recommend taking her class!

(online summer) as long as u actually take the time to read the textbook & complete assignments, u can easily pass. one thing i loved about this class was how everything was due at 8 pm, it allowed for me to get assignments done much earlier in the day. the only downside was that you only get 10 points of extra credit, so make sure to study hard.

Took a 5 week online summer course. All assignments are available from the start of class. The class included 4 discussion boards and 4 tests. It was extremely easy- few assignments and enough time to complete them. Extra credit is offered only once so take advantage of it.

I took her class online and it was very easy! She sends out reminders on what is due with ahead of time. Just follow the instructions and turn them in on time and you won't have a problem. I didn't need the book everything was straightforward. Take her class online you won't regret it :)

This is one of the best community college professors that I have had. She was so great that I enrolled in her GOVT2306 course for SPRING 2019

Professor Smith is a wonderful teacher! I took her for govt 2305 and will be taking her again for govt 2306! I took her flex-wintermester class and it only consisted if 4 discussions and a final. Super easy class if you just read to prepare for the discussion response!
