This class is easy if you do the reading. Ms. Strimling is very helpful and is more focused on students understanding than grades. Papers are not hard.

Took her for ECE 400 and 314. Amy is sweet, funny, passionate. Assignments were easy, class was mellow, tests were super easy, and she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Ms. Strimling's class is full of discussions. She is very nice and the class is pretty easy. Sometimes it was annoying how much she got off-topic, though.

I loved the disscussions in her class and as long as you took notes and went to class you could easily pass. She gave open note tests and quizes. And uses the blackboard.com grading system and gave example papers for you to reference. At worst she skipped around on her lecture slides sometimes and only got behind on material by a day or so.

She is a good teacher. She gives open book and open note tests. She does tell you her opinion about certain things, which could be bad and good. She is very clear. I would take her again!

Amy is a wonderful teacher. She's very approachable and helpful. Willing to answer all questions. Lectures are intresting and all on blackboard so you don't have to take notes. Attendance is somewhat mandatory since she has you sign in each day. No Midterms, 1 final exam worth 55 points,1 research paper, and 4 quizzes total.

Amy is very available to her students. Tests are open note/open book. Lots of extra credit opportunities available. Attendance is not mandatory, but you do get participation points for speaking in class encouraging informal discussion in class and raising more opportunities for learning.

If you're someone who doesn't need regular busy work to learn a subject, she's a good professor for you. There's no homework, just three observation papers and one child study paper. The assignment is a little unclear in expectations so make sure to ask questions - she wants you to specifically reference material. The quizzes are easy if you study.

AWESOME teacher... she's passionate about her field and that comes across in her classes. I've had a couple classes with her (312 & 400) and she's very clear with what she expects us to learn. Her classes are always full of discussions... they're really fun. Bottom line: I highly recommend her.

Such an easy teacher and easy class. 5 online quizzes, 3 short paper, and 1 big project but all of it is extremely easy. One final exam open book and notes on the last chapters! Attendance is mandatory to some extend but she wont drop if you miss about 4 days. Extremly easy to get an A!!! Just make sure you do the quizzes and work on time.

She is remarkable. She loves what she does and makes it easier for the people who can't afford textbooks. She is very helpful and funny. Everything is opened notes including the final and exams. She doesn't get fussy if you miss a couple of her courses and her essays are precise, crystal clear and more fun then others. Attening ECE 314 for sure!

Overall, good teacher. Wish she didn't give us that final exam paper though. Final is open book/notes though so that was cool!

The best teacher out of everyone I have taken! She is so helpful and gives you hands on information. Hear classes are very interesting and knowledgeable. She does not give a grade, you have to earn it, she can be a harsh grader sometimes, but overall, I learned a lot from her and enjoyed her classes. I would recommend her to my friends.

I've had Amy before & decided to take her again because she's a fun teacher. She explains a lot of the lectures so that there is no misunderstandings. There are times we joke around in class or have really good discussions about child development. Work is fair and gives a lot of opportunities. Highly advise to have input during class about lessons.

Honestly one of the easiest professors and classes I have taken at Sac City. Not only was the class easy, the material was interesting, and so were the online activities. My advice to you is to be on top of due dates, and make sure you get every assignment done, and you should be guaranteed an A. Still got an A without touching the text.

I took her class online. We had 2 discussion boards (answer question & reply to other students), 1 assignment, & one quiz every week. There are 4 tests that happen once a month. The writings were interesting & time consuming, but if you do them & try hard, you'll be sure to get an A! She is very helpful & replies to emails quick especially at night

Love love loooooved her children with exceptional needs class. Really goes into depth and encourages class discussions. She plays to the interest of the students talking about what seems to be the most important subjects to us. 3 tests including final and her textbook is crafted by her and full of informational articles that you pick 10 to review.

Online class was very fun. Topics were very interesting and engaging, and the writing assignments were fun to write too. There are weekly quizzes and exam; quizzes can be taken multiple times but not exams. It's easy to fall behind because it's an online class so always do your work ahead of time, set up reminders, and always double check.

Must read and do discussion boards every week. As well as a quiz every week. I think there is around 5 tests and the final is optional. If you do the final and get a good grade then one of your bad tests get dropped and replaced. She responds to emails quickly and her grading is fair.

Overall, Amy Strimling is an excellent teacher, and her class was pretty straightforward. She has a quiz, assignment, and discussion board weekly in which all are very doable. She has 3 exams and 1 optional exam if you want to drop your lowest score. This is definitely not a hard class, and the teacher is very reasonable!

Amy is an amazing professor! I've taken every ECE requirement class for my major and she is a professor who truly cares for her students. Her lectures are never boring, passionate about her job. On days where the class is drained, she'll show short videos relating to class to cheer everyone up. Always open for questions and helps after class.

Quizzes, assignments, and discussions are due every week. Everything is really easy. There is a paper called Developmental Autobiography, and make sure to follow the instructions on the outline. She tells you what you should talk about and be detailed. Overall, you guys should take the professor if you need this class.

My first online class ever thought it would be hard but she was really good professor. Makes it to where you can pass if you just do her work. Definitely take her online class! 1 discussion, 1 learning activity, and a quiz every week with 3 exams throughout the semester, and 2 video analysis papers (they're easy). Love how organized her class is. Easy A as long as you do all the assignments! She grades very leniently and gives feedback when needed.

Online FCS324 easy! She had you mainly do busy work, 3 papers, that were based on interesting videos. Highly recommended if you need to take this class!

Strimling is a great instructor! She has a very well organized course. This was not a difficult class; just need stay on top of the discussion boards, learning activities, and quizzes each week along with two papers. Provides extra credit opportunities as well. There are 3 exams with one optional comprehensive final to replace lowest test score.

She offers multiple extra credit opportunities and gives feedback on papers. This online course was easy and I will be taking another class taught by Strimling soon! I appreciate her style of teaching. Also, only one 5 page paper is due at the end of the semester and it is very easy to complete if you have been paying attention in class.

The powerpoint are long but then she makes videos of herself explaining the work. She also gives us extra videos with the information we read from the powerpoint. But the quizzes are simple and easy.

This class was a 1-credit class but well worth taking. Professor Strimling gives great feedback and offers a good deal of extra credit. I wound up getting As on all assignments and the extra credit as well. Her office hours are very accessible, and the writing assignments are fairly comprehensible, though they do require a bit of critical thinking.
