Excellent instructor! Even though the class was at 8:00am in the morning, I always wanted to go because everything she teaches is fascinating. She expects a lot, but you definitely won't be disappointed.

She is a type of professor who rather seems to be my neighbor nextdoor. Her lectures sound very friendly not dull like some old conservative professors. read the book before the book quizzes and take notes because she tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. her great attitude and enthusiasm makes the class so much fun. i've learned a lot too. she's the BEST!

I was totally wrong that I thought Psychology was kinda bored subject. Amy made me concentrate and learn about out personality as a human being. Amy is AMAZING!!!! I took her for Psych 1 in Spring 2010 and got an A. She's the type of teacher that makes you want to learn and come to class. The fact that she is extremely easy on the eyes also makes you want to come to class everyday. Her tests are on what she lectures. Her final is cumulative. There are weekly open book on line quizzes.

READ READ READ. it's a hard subject as it is, she tries her best to provide it in a clear concise manner to help you remember it. She also includes online lecture/ powerpoints. I was 11 points from an A and this is me not trying that hard. doable

Amy is an amazing person. She teaches you life lessons and not straight from the book. She teaches you parts of the book which she feels will be useful in life. That being said, do not buy the book. It's unnecessary and a waste of money.

She is a really great teacher. Her lectures were not boring at all. We had online quizzes online every week or so but it was not hard. We had about 3-4 tests not sure but fairly easy. Her final was cumulative, so always study the material. Honestly, the book was the not really needed. I bought it and did not use it. I highly recommend her.

first of all , I just want to express how excited I am , after being at LACC for two years I have finally decided that I am going to major in psychology after taking Ms. Sweetmens class. She is an amazing teacher, she makes the class fun, she keeps all students engaged and ensure that we all know the material before taking each chapter quiz.

I enjoyed taking this class. The tests are easy as long as you do the reading and listen to her lectures. One downfall is that her lectures are ridiculously long sometimes but thankfully she makes the topic very interesting. She's a great professor. I would recommend her for sure. But just watch out for those long lectures!

Psych 52 really gives you a good insight into yourself and your sexuality. It also helps with learning the do's and don't's of what not to do when you're in a relationship. Good teacher. If you are a busy person, don't take this class in the Summer or Winter semesters. Very time-consuming but easy grader and test heavy. Lots of textbook reading.

Prof. was always available to answer my questions through email. She made the class interesting by using quirky anecdotes and examples which helped me remember the material better. You do need to read and take notes to get through this class. Tests were challenging but fair. There were assignments to boost your grade if tests aren't your thing.

I've taken quite a few of her classes! Did much better later on. She is tough but AS LONG as you pay attention to the lectures online you will do perfectly well. She was very sweet and caring. All of the information she taught me has stuck with me longer than any psych teacher here. Again she's tough but just take notes on every single lecture!

She has a fun and quirky way of teaching materials to where we really get it. Her recorded lectures kept me going in the class because the textbook was very challenging. She makes everything click. Despite the quizzes being difficult, bc she formulates her own question and words it strategically, you can struggle if you don't study. Great class!!!

I recommend Professor Sweetman to a mature student who values knowledge and determination. There will be a ton of assignments to help you really understand the topics. You will get the best grade if she see you put in your best effort. Despite my initial concerns about the workload, I ended up enjoying the course. Her instruction is exceptional.

this class had no real time meetings but all the content was very well organized and divided into chunks. her lectures were short (wish they were longer even!) and had good examples. it was doable as long as you stay on top of everything. look at old assignment answers for the final answers, most of it is there.

She has a lot of information to give out but she breaks down her lectures so it doesn't feel overwhelming. The assignments are broken down and very straightforward from her lecture videos. The final is only explaining concepts and no true/false or multiple choice, I wish it would've had a blend of them. Overall good class, would take it again.

The only reason people wont like her class is if they're not ready to put in the work. She has an amazing class layout,what I loved was that our big paper was cut into sections so we worked on it slowly before it was due and that took so much pressure off.
