Excellent teacher, you can see her passion in what she teaches. Show up for class, and you should have no problem passing the class. Love the way she assigns the chapters to the students to read and summarize, to me it made sure that the students did the reading, and made it easier to understand. I really had no interest in speech but with juggling five classes, she made it fun and worth the effort! laid back! The expectations are crystal clear. One gets to teach a chapter in a group of two to develope speech skills! I learned a lot...you will not regret this class! The one class I truly enjoyed. THUMBS UP!

This was an awesome class.She requires student to be in class with full participation.The test are from the text, so you need to make sure you read and know the vocab.She does do a review the day before the quiz and test.All questions on the quizes will be on the midterm and final.She is a great teacher that deserves respect from her students.

I wasn't looking forward to taking a speech class but when I was in her classroom, it completely changed my whole perspective. Varon is a really great teacher and I can't imagine a better delivery than the way she put it. Everyday she made it a fun, learning environment. I would recommend Professor Varon to anyone. I have never liked giving speeches, but she creates a really laid back, comfortable environment. If you go to class everyday, there is no excuse for not making an A. She tells you exactly what you need for each speech. Overall, easy A, but I got alot out of the class as well!

Ms. Varon's class has thus far been my best college experience. Her daily quizes kept our focus in line and prepared us for the final exam. I wish other teachers would take AMY's style in their teaching technique. Thanks Amy for preparing me for the next level.

Professor V. was awesome! She likes to talk alot and you don't need your book that much, she reviews every chapter and gives you handouts. There's a quiz every day but if you pay attention in class you'll do fine. Had her for the 2nd summer term (final is tomorrow!) She likes the class to be involved and students to show up and participate.

Professor V is awesome. She basically forces you to get to know everyone in your class. Which I usually hate, but its easier to speak in front of people when you get to know them. Quizzes are a joke their so easy. Improved my public speaking tremendously. Easy A for sure!

Easy A, but waste of time! Always late to class, scatter-brained, wasted class time (rarely class lasted more than 30 minutes), changed assignments on a whim constantly. Grades easy, tho...prob entire class got A even those never there/not turning in work. Easy quizzes, test questions are the exact questions from the quiz.

I LOVED Mrs. Varon! She's one of the chillest teachers I've ever had. If you're scared of public speaking, you NEED to take her. Her class is very relaxed and low key. She does a really good job of making the speeches no big deal! There were a couple of quizzes but they were multiple choice. Taking all of my speech classes with her in the future!

I took interpersonal communication, which is apparently not her specialty. All semester she would just work out of the book, offer no insight other than what was in the book. She was disorganized, didn't give clear instructions and had relatively high demands. She clearly didn't care about the class and it showed. For 1318, stay away.

She's awesome teacher, friendly, supportive, nice and caring. She tries to help you in all aspects. I'd recommend to y'all. She grades you exactly what you do with honesty and also generous in grading. I liked her class, enjoyed it and learned it. Tests are not difficult.

It's not hard as long as you read the material and do your assignments. There was sometimes a medium-heavy workload,but I think this allowed more opportunity for better grades. Prof. Varon is very friendly and easy to approach with questions/concerns. I have enjoyed this class and highly recommend it.

I gradually have the courage to speak English in front of people thanks to professor Varon. She is very clarified and is well prepared for every single lessons. I rarely read textbook except when I am doing journals because her chapter PowerPoint are very helpful. I highly recommend her, especially those who afraid to talk in public.

Professor "V" is the best for any speech class you want to take. she is fair, cooperative, nice, and fun. you will learn so much from her class while enjoying every second of it. i took her summer class and it was fun. there were quizzes, presentations, a midterm and a final. attendance is mandatory if you want to get an easy 100.

Take this teacher for a VERY easy A! Took her 1315 class and did great! The only reason you could fail, is if you sit in your chair and not move or speak. She loves intros, so make your great. Outlines are 30% of speech grade, so do them! Really easy. She went off on a few rabbit trails, but otherwise, will explain ANYTHING. SWEET lady

Mrs. Varon is an awesome teacher. I had her at eight in the morning and she definitely woke me up with her humor. She is really caring, and understanding. She is an amazing speech giver, and you will learn a lot about speech techniques.

Mrs. Varon is very understanding and a wonderful teacher. She is easy to get along with, and does a very good job at teaching the students speech techniques. I recommend everybody to take her for speech 1315, you'll learn a lot.

She is a great professor. There were four speeches, two papers and two test. The test come from the presentations she gives. The speeches are pretty easy she goes over everything she wants and gives you a work day to work on them in class. The papers are not that bad they are like three pages.

Mrs. Varon was a very great professor. The speeches are suppose to remain under 5 minutes. Personally I think that is easy compared to other classes I have taken. I definitely recommend Amy if you need to fill a speech requirement.

Took this course my first semester at Lone Star. Very nice professor. Always makes it clear on what you need to do to get a good grade. Show up and you'll pass. There's a free online book. Easy tests. I really enjoyed this course!

I've struggled with public speaking for many years. Professor Varon created a comfortable environment for me to speak. I enjoyed the class and gained knowledge of public speaking.

I've never been good at public speaking but by the end of the semester, my performance & grades improved tremendously. After presentations she gives honest grades & clearly explains how to improve. Class is always fun & you still learn a lot. She lets you pick your topic for each speech & she has reasonable guidelines that are easy to follow.

Wasn't hard, had maybe 4 presentations all together. Very easy class.

She lectures off of powerpoints, we had four group projects (which aren't bad if you have good partners) and four speeches. The only downfall was that she interrupts in your speech and occasionally doesn't give a good amount of time for the speeches - it's rare, but it happens.

Professor Varon was without a doubt my favorite professor from LSC and is without a doubt a funny and caring person. Her tests are on the easy side and as long as you show up to class there should be no problem getting an A/B on the tests

Great and funny teacher, but study about a week before all of her tests and quizzes. Also, during presentations, don't look down! She will take off about 10 points every time you do so.
