Mrs. Ward was able to answer pretty much every question asked. She does a lot of power points, but it is necessary to listen and take notes to pass the tests. She normally has a bonus question on the tests that are fun/easy points. Very good teacher.
Ms. Ward is the best teacher I've had at CTC so far, its a shame they don't hire more teachers like Ms. Ward because she's definitely in a class of her own. I took the class online and she was very quick to respond to questions. If you read the chapters and pay close attention to her lecture slides, you will pass the class..:o)
Ms. Ward is a very good teacher. SHe makes sure to hit the most important parts and gets into detail on what she feels are the most relative. Her tests are self explanatory if you pay attention and read the book. I enjoyed going to her class very much.
Awesome teacher! one of my favorites. Her tests are tricky but she does tend to throw in a few freebies. lectures the whole class period. you learn a lot, there is a lot of information. just study and do the class presentation and you should make a decent grade.
Interesting, power point based lectures. Tests are very easy, straight from the lecture; open-book textbook quizzes (so the textbook is mandatory). Definitely recommend.
Mrs. Ward is nice. She is very helpful and tries to make History interesting. She lectures the whole class period but if you take notes and pay attention you will do fine. Tests aren't that hard and she's pretty easy on grading the presentation as long as you hit all the requirements.
Mrs. Ward is the best teacher! She mostly lectures about her powerpoints, but she makes it like a story. She doesn't have alot of grades in the class, just keep up with the textbook readings and her lectures and you'll do fine. I'm about to be on my third and fourth history classes with her. She's awesome! I would definitely recommend her :)
Amazing teacher!! Will only take her for my history classes. One presentation. You make your own multiple choice test. 2 open book test(10? Each) mid term and final. Makes learning fun.
MRS. WARD IS AWESOME!!! She really knows what she is talking about when she is giving lectures. She makes history very fun. Tests are easy (study!) and multiple choice, there are two textbook quizzes and one presentation. Mrs. Ward is very nice and sweet. I wish all teachers were like Mrs. Ward--funny and nice!
GREAT TEACHER. go to class, takes notes, study - take the test.. make a good grade! im taking her for another history class next semester. i would totally recommend her!!!!
Easy class. Just go to class and take notes. She has 6 exams total There is suggested reading to do on your own, which is important for the textbook texts, but just skim the book and you'll be fine. She also has one presentation to do which is fairly easy. She's cute and funny. Good class, easy A.
I never liked history; I always thought it was boring, but Mrs. Ward changed that. Mrs. Ward's class was so awesome, and she makes it so easy to take notes--and believe me, note taking IS key here--I did great on the exams, so her system works! If you have to take history, then Ward is your best choice, hands down. Wish she taught my other classes!
Just go to class, take notes and look them over for a couple hrs the night b4 and youll be fine. She's fair and straight forward. All the material you need to know is right there. She is very nice and she brings alot of energy to her discussions. I would recommend this class only if you plan on attending.
Cute teacher. Great teacher in terms of class materials. Gives comprehensive notes and is true to her word. Take good notes, listen attentively, read the textbook for her quiz and you'll have an A. Oh, NO CELL PHONES. Take her please!!! I know I will be !
I've always had some interest in history but Ms. Ward really makes it even better. She holds your attention throughout class. Exams are reasonably easy. Make sure to take notes and read!
I thought Ward was alright. Prepare to study out of the textbook. Only studied lectures and received a VERY low first exam grade. It was so low I had to drop the course. Will not be taking her again.
Very good teacher. A lot of notes but you need them to study for the quiz. She still makes class really fun if you interact. You have to study hard for tests but after all it is college. You have to have your book! She likes to help as much as possible. Very commited to her job, i advise you take her for as many of your history classes as possible.
Amazing lecturer. Really makes the class interesting. Best history class I've taken!
Mrs. Ward is EXCELLENT. Everything she teaches has a chance to be on the test. She will not test you on anything she hasn't discussed. She is down to earth and makes history interesting. I've had three classes with her and I've enjoyed every class. I definitely recommend Mrs. Ward!
My absolute favorite professor thus far. She is crystal clear in communications, makes the subject interesting and does not like to see students crash and burn. You will need your textbook. You will also need to take notes and perhaps study a little bit. I highly recommend professor Ward!
Amazing teacher! I actually looked forward to attending her class. Very helpful and considerate.
She is entertaining, great sense of humor and very easy. She puts funny questions on tests sometimes. She tests directly off of her PowerPoint lectures and the textbook quiz questions are from there as well. So you don't have to hang on every word like some other professors. She is a fun teacher, I recommend!
Ppts are not in the order of the textbook as Ms. Ward teaches in a story like manner. However, I find this incredibly easy because one is able to connect concepts from earliler ppts. TB reading and notes are a must to supplement her lectures. She's animated and funny. I have really enjoyed her classes so far.
The best teacher ever! Very down to earth. Enjoyed discussing game of thrones before class started! She makes history fun by the way she presents it. You must take her class!
Ms. Ward mentions she has a macro approach to the history, but don't believe what she says. On the test she asks for unimportant difficult names and details.
She is super nice and helpful! Her lectures are very interesting.. I enjoyed her class!
This is by far my favorite teacher. Her lectures are interesting and her choice of words during them are hilarious. This is a class that I do not mind getting up at the butt crack of dawn for. Professor Ward is the bomb. Only stuff from class is on the exams, the book is for the textbook quizzes which she lets you use the first 30 minutes !!!!
Great Professor - class was a breeze. Took online, only had to come in and take 1 proctored exam. I will definitely take her again!
Great teacher! Tests were really easy and let you use book for half the test. Tests are honestly really common sense. Really funny and keeps lectures interesting. Bonus point questions on tests are just telling her something about you.
She's great! I only missed class once but it wasn't because I wanted to. She makes class really fun and easy to understand. Very down to earth and you only take about three real tests the whole semester. She does do a couple of pop quizzes through the semester. DO NOT FORGET YOUR BOOK. She let's you use it on the tests.
Best history teacher I've ever had! Take good notes, and if your class has enough time before each test she will play a review game. Study before the test and you should make an A or a B. She is the only history teacher to ever keep me interested in history! 3 tests and 2 pop quiz. You are allowed to use your notestextbook on their assigned quizes
Had her at KSU, never missed a class, got above a 95 on all the exams. However, I got an F on the paper. Only C in College (now a law school bound senior at UGA). She allows no room for the student to actually think for themselves. Prepare to conform to her value-laden teaching style.
She is the toughest teacher ever. She thinks that she is teaching at Emory university. Very mean . Grades harshly. Her textbook exams are very hard because she includes questions from outside the chapters that are assigned so you can't find the answers. Some students take her because she is the only option that is available. I don't recommend her
She's obviously interested in history, and it's always more fun to take a class with someone with a passion for the subject. I found the lectures fascinating, but wish note-taking wasn't so crucial to the tests; I couldn't focus because I was busy writing! Still, open-note tests are awesome.
One word!! Amazing!!! she is so awesome. Take her you won't regret it!!
I took her class online for summer semester. It was very fast paced. There were only three tests and each test covered multiple continents and countries. Testes were usually on about 100 pages or more. You really need to pay attention to the fine details in the lectures and videos. Amazing at emailing back on time though!
Second time taking this professor - very easy class. You could honestly complete the entire semester in an afternoon. I didn't bother reading the chapters, just study her ppt's and you'll be fine. Even the on-campus exam is easy. TAKE HER.
Ms. Ward was great. Some of the reviews were pretty negative, but if you can pay attention for 30 minutes and just skim the chapters for 15 minutes before the test, you'll get a B easily. Half of the test is open book. Paper was only two pages long (double spaced) If you have the writing ability of a high school freshman, you'll be fine.
BEST teacher I've had yet (and i don't like school). She made history seem interesting and fun and I could actually stay awake and pay attention in her class. Very funny and is always willing to work with you. NO HOMEWORK!!! defiantly my favorite college teacher I've ever had. would take 10000000000000 more times
Ms. Ward is the best history teacher I've ever had. Her lectures are informative and interesting and she has a great sense of humor. I took her HIST 2111 and HIST 2112 classes and did great in both! You have one presentation/project that is done towards the end of the semester. Bring your book to class and read it to prepare for tests & class.
I have never been interested in history until i took her class! she was very helpful and made everything very interesting. She engages with the students so you won't be falling asleep. I need to take world history and i would deff take her again!
As a high school student taking college classes I was nervous to take this class, but she is a great teacher. She made history interesting and had a good sense of humor. Even though I made an A in the class, it wasn't easy. You have to pay attention to the lectures and take good notes. She doesn't have many assignments so every grade counts.
She is a great teacher. Read your textbook and you'll be fine.
She is an amazing teacher. I took her online for world history and she gives you plenty of time for almost no homework. VERY EASY on test which it was just midterm and final. Very funny teacher. I recommend her. I almost did nothing and put in my assignments last minute and passed with B+.
Knows a lot about what she is teaching. Very great lectures and gives specific information and notes that are identical to tests. She answers all questions and takes time to help!
Mrs. Ward was awesom! You definitely have to pay attention and take notes in her class but she doesn't just do boring lectures. She knows EXACTLY what she is talking about and is very helpful. The only grades we had were 3 test grades,3 quiz grades, and one project grade. Memorize lecture terms for tests and pay attention and you will be fine!
I LOVE Mrs. Ward, I wish I could take her for all my classes. You definitely have to pay attention and study the key terms but she is so knowledgeable and makes class fun. The only grades are 2 pop quizzes, 3 tests, three quizzes and an easy project.
She's an harsh grader and generally dictates toward people in the class that volunteer all the time. I would not recommend as an easy class.
There is basically no homework. All you have to do is make a couple of timelines and take a few tests. Her tests are kind of hard (I GOT 70s ON ALL OF THEM). The timelines are very easy. She tells you to read like 3 chapters every week, but you already know that ain't nobody got time for that. Just listen to her 15 minute lectures and your good.
Her class is super easy. I got done 2 months early.
For an 8-week summer class, it's not terrible. This teacher is awesome! It's my second time taking one of her classes. You HAVE to read to pass. She tells you how to pass this class from the beginning. Read and listen to the ppt and study the questions at the end. This information will help with the tests, quizzes, and writing assignments.
Prof. Ward is my favorite teacher by far. She really knows the materials she teaches, and it's fun listening to her. You need to be able to put in some work to pass the tests but she gives you tips from the very beginning. Partner project presented in class but it was pretty easy. No extra credit. Found electronic book good for quiz (search bar)
Prof. Ward really knows about what she is teaching. Lot of lecture time, but it's interesting. I actually learned something from this class. Take notes in class, study the material, and listen to her lectures and it will be a cup of tea! I wish I could take her again!
Loved the teacher but didnt like the grading method, we only had 4 assignments so theres no room for error and the tests are based off of the book and not the power point presentations she does in class.
Hands down one of the best professors you could ever take, do not miss this opportunity!
Loved her class. Best professor I've ever had. Easy to understand lectures, tests weren't hard. Even if you don't like history, you'll like her class. Attendance was mandatory and graded, but it's worth it.
Took this one for fun, had a blast. Best professor I've ever had. Easy to understand lectures, tests weren't hard. Even if you don't like history, you'll like her class. Attendance was mandatory and graded, but it's worth it.
One of my favorite profs. Her lectures are interesting and normally pretty funny. No hw or extra credit, so there are only a few grades. Definitely need to take notes and study quite a bit for her tests, but she is clear about what you need to know. She genuinely cares about her students and makes herself accessible to them. Highly recommend!
The tests are easy if you take notes from the videos she posts. Timeline assign. were easy & took less than 1 hour. Quizzes are multiple choice & easy as long as you read the small excerpt. Writing assignments are the most difficult & time consuming. You have to read the free book & answer in short answer. All work is avai. from the start of class
I had her for an online summer class. All the assignments are very straight forward and clear. There are 3 tests, 3 timelines, 3 writing assignments and 2 quizzes. There is no cumulative final. Her lectures were easy to understand and the PP were great for studying. All material was available from the beginning which allowed me to finish early.
She's an harsh grader and generally dictates toward people in the class that volunteer all the time. I would NOT recommend as an easy class. She twist her questions and makes them really hard. Her lectures are great but nothing of what she lectures is in the exams. If you study off the ppt then the notes would not be the same on pop quiz/ exams.
Ms. Ward is awesome! Her class did require a good amount of time to complete assignments and you really had to read in order to do well. Her PPT lectures are all available on YouTube as lectures and that was super helpful for an online class. The assignments are loaded at the beginning of the course so you can complete them early if you would like.
She is a tough grader. But she did not give that many assignments. I think her class is best for those who love to work ahead, study and have a genuine love for history.
Nine total Graded Assignments: 2 pop-quizzes, 3 textbook exams, 3 unit exams, and one Group Project presentation. If you miss class too often, she will throw a pop quiz. Just make sure you are reading the book religiously before an exam. All exams are open book, so you can bring in your laptop with the book on it. Great class.
I really really enjoyed this class and her style of teaching!!! She only has test and quiz grades, but if you pay attention youll get an A. She also has short versions of class lectures available online which is incredible study material! Incredible instructor!
Great teacher! Responds quick and has amazing lectures. The only thing I would say is not the best is that she does not tell you what you did wrong on a assignment, but thats the only thing. Definitely take if you have the chance.
I really enjoyed her class. She was very nice and straightforward about what she wanted from us. If you watched her lectures and read the textbook you will do well in the class. She gives clear outlines about what to read from the textbook and takes notes from the powerpoints. I really recommend her she was a great online teacher.
If you dont history then I would choose a different professor. Theres only 9 grades which are all test and quizzes except one thats a presentation. Honestly one of the hardest classes that ive had because I dont like history. she ruined my gpa also ):
I really love her. She was always clear about what she wanted and if you didn't do well at something she explained why and always had feedback. Her online class was super easy and she lectures over all of her powerpoint slides so it's easy to follow along with her. I really hope I can take her for my next history class because she is really great.
Took summer online. Best online class! Lectures & powerpoints very interesting. All material open at start of class. Work at own pace except for proctored test. Each unit had lectures, timeline project, primary source quiz, txbk reading quiz (w/ study guide), & test. Follow instructions & know material A. No "surprises", but must put forth effort
Solid choice. Took summer online. PowerPoints with audio lecture. Shes very interesting and easy to listen to. Course divided into 3 units with multiple chapters. Each unit consisted of lecture material, reading quiz (with study guide), timeline project, and test. No surprises/curveballs. Follow instructions, give effort, do the work A.
Took the class during the summer online and it was an easy A. There were only 3 units, and each unit consisted of lecture material, a reading quiz (with study guide), timeline project, and a test. There's an online textbook and powerpoints with an audio lecture to it, both of which gave enough information needed for quizzes and tests. Great class
Super passionate about what she teaches and it shows. I'm not good at history but when she teaches, it's interesting. Tests, textbook quizzes (using the textbook), 3 pop quizzes, and 1 easy partner project make your grade w/ no extra credit. She tells you exactly what to study for on tests and pop quizzes are open note- 2-3 classes before tests
She's a really great professor, you need to get her if you can. Every answer to every question to every assignment can be found where she says. She always makes sure you're prepared. She's probably be the single-fastest grader I've ever had and she has a great sense of humor for bonus points.
Make sure to Study
all around she was a good teacher but she was trying too hard to relate to the student. her test was nothing on the topic we were studying maybe one out of all the 50
Mrs. Ward is a very enthusiastic professor. If you use all of the information she gives you such as notes, the index for the textbook, and your source study guides you will pass. Make sure to study for exams because they are a huge portion of your grade. the rest of the quizzes are pretty much open notes.
She is literally the nicest person ever. She will make time for you if you struggle. We dont have any HW but she provides amazing lectures and videos that make lecture quizzes easy. The book quizzes are always open book. I like that you can write in your reply for most of the quizzes bc shes super lenient. This class is so easy. Take it!!!
Well, I'm sure Prof. Ward is a nice lady, however, this class is not for you if you procrastinate. There's 3 units, 12 assign., 3 quizzes, and 1 test for each unit. 1 quiz and the test is locked browser. No extra credit, but if you don't do your part, why would you do e.c.? Just study, and if you don't wanna do that then pick another teacher.
I personally did not enjoy this class. This class is NOT for you if you procrastinate or do not like history. 4-6 weeks' worth of information is broken down into three difficult, 10 question quizzes and a lockdown browser test. Your grade reflects your work ethic so if you need this class to be easy, choose someone else.
This Teacher uses "Respondus Lockdown Browser" which means, almost every assignment is done with a webcam....
Ms. Ward has many lectures but they are concise! She clearly laid out the course for us, and never gave any unnecessary readings or assignments. You will have to read quite a bit, but its spaced out weekly. Youre given plenty of time to study in advance for all the tests. Truly a great teacher for online classes.
just study for tests/quizzes and you'll get a good grade.
Pretty straight forward and to the point. 3 quizes and one test per unit so there isnt a lot of grades. will not excuse you for missed tests even if you have an excuse though.
Professor Ward is very nice and clearly cares about her students, but the class itself is extremely difficult, especially if history isn't your strong suite. I struggled with this class from the beginning. I have always been an all-A student but currently have a C in the class. If you reach out for help she responds quickly and is very sweet.
My favorite history teacher ever. Her outlines for the test come straight from her lectures. She really made the class easy to understand and I learned so much from her. I would love to take every history class like this.
Mrs ward is an okay teacher, I missed a test because of an emergancy and I was not excused from It. She will not excuse you if you miss anything and she does not give you any extra credit. Her test are difficult even if you listen to the lectures. She requires lockdown browser and web cam. she post all the work and grades very fast.
Their is only 3 unit test and a lock down browser is required.
She only has 15 assignments over the whole course. DO NOT JOIN if you don't do well in a test setting. I've noticed from other classmates that she doesn't give second chances very often, so if you mess up, that's too bad. The quizzes are short and easy to fail. But she was very kind when she did end up responding to a question.
(asynchronous online) She is very clear that she gives no extensions or leniency. You have to read 1-5 chapters of the textbook every week and there was only 12 assignments for the entire class. Do not take this class if you do not test well or struggle with time management.
Amy provides a lot of video's and slides so you don't have to really read the text book. She has only 2 discussions and her test are not too bad, but it's like 11 of them and they are between 10 to 25 questions each and 6 require respondus with camera on. No final exam in her class.
The teacher was great. I got a 90. Each unit (3 units) had a discussion board, video quiz, lecture note quiz, textbook quiz, and exam all due the same day. Her lectures were great, but not much of it was on the tests. She's great for online classes, but if you struggle with organization and deadlines pick someone else. A lot is due at once.
Professor Ward has a straightforward teaching style, with clear lectures and a fair grading system. While the exams can be challenging, using unstuck AI and the provided textbook can help you prepare effectively. Overall, an engaging history course with a professor who cares about student success.
Professor Ward provides all the material you need for the exams and quizzes. As long as you study and do not procrastinate, you will pass. Each week is summed up into 3 units, so there are 3 exams, 3 quizzes, etc. Due dates are strict; make sure to stay on track. She uses lockdown for exams, for the Rest, you can use notes or the textbook
This was a pretty good class so far, the exams are a little harder just make sure to know the behind story of the material. , just study and read and watch the lectures 2x each and you will be fine. But if you get a B in this class, be proud of yourself, its tough
good luck folks
GOOD LUCK its hard
