He is extremely helpful to his students.
he`s hard to understand. He is so willing to help his students though and he`s a sweetheart!
I took him about 3 semesters ago. He's a little hard to understand because he has a strong accent BUT he's really willing to help. He's easy if you study & put some effort. I recommend him!
Dr. Chowdhury is very knowledgeable and, most importantly, wants his students to succeed. Yes, he's got an accent. But, by providing students with a blow-by-blow study guide to everything he covers, he makes it easier to figure out terms you may have difficulty spelling. I highly recommed him as a professor and he's also a very courteous person.
This class was extremely hard for me. It's a lot of information to digest and you MUST study. Mr. Chowdhury is a very understanding teacher. He wants the best for all of his students. He has an accent and it can be difficult to understand him, however the lecture slides are available online for you print and use in class.
Really nice guy but very difficult to understand. It's bad enough trying to learn the material but it makes it even harder with someone with a very strong accent. I basically had to teach myself the entire semester. He reads directly from the textbook which makes it very boring. He also doesn't help u to understand anything either.2 thumbs down!
He was impossible to understand. We lost a lot of people after the first test. I found him very nonchalant about our grades. I would not recommend this instructor to anyone.
I Took BIOL 253 during the short accelerated summer semester. Mr. Chowdhury was a great teacher and very helpful with explaining the anatomy using the same models he tested on. Mr. Chowdury also gave many opportunities for bonus points.
He is EXTREMELY helpful and concerned with his students doing well. He really cares about his students. He can be a bit challenging to understand but he is always willing to go back and explain again. You get out of this class what you put in. If you show up, pay attention and study, you will do well. He is very generous with bonus points.
Dr. Chowdhury was great. In the beginning I was a little nervous about his accent but eventually I got used to it. It's a challenging subject do expect to work. He gave us "the most bonus points in history" this semester because he's pretty understanding and knows we all worked hard this summer. He's super nice, patient and cares tremendously.
This course was very challenging during the summer, but I learned a tremendous amount. Inst. Chowdhury is very organized in his teaching and extremely helpful. I agree with a previous comment, he really does want his students to succeed. I would take him again if given the oppty.
Mr. Chowdhury was nice but he was very hard to understand verbally for me. I had I different teacher for lecture so we were ahead in lab which mad studying harder than it needed to be. I'll say reading on your own is pertinent. Maybe if you take he class with easier classes you can dedicate more time to study.
He was awesome!!
I love this professor
I really enjoyed having him as a teacher. His lectures correlated with the labs for the most part. I will say tht near the end the class got more difficult for me personally. I don't know what it was. He gives quizzes & noticed that if I just read instead of making notecards to memorize the information I made better grades.
I love this professor,, he is the best for A &P 1
Had a 10 question quiz and got 2 wrong (the boy next to me also got 2 wrong) I got an 80 and he got a 100. Very biased. Somehow got a 67 D on a test I knew all of the answers to. Never answered questions when hands are raised. Doesn't assign homework- grade is based solely on tests. Doesn't respond to emails about grades or his own grading errors.
the class is easy if you put forth the effort.
Amzad was an awesome teacher. He is very hard to understand at first but, you get used to it. I took him for lecture & lab. His lecture exams are super easy, material is from the slides (STUDYING IS STILL IMPORTANT). he puts all of his slides online and he gives a great amount of extra credit which I found so so helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Has an accent that can be hard to understand, but posts power points & notes online. Covers all book material, may ask questions from any area covered, & doesn't provide study guides. Tests aren't really long or difficult, but you have to study a LOT since everything in the chapter(s) is fair game. Thank goodness the final isn't comprehensive!
he's an awesome teacher although hard to understand. You'll get used to it after a few hours. I took him for summer lec and lab. You cannot escape the lab. You must study and study a lot to pass. Amzad gives a lot of extra credit which most teachers do not do so you'd be lucky to have him. At midterms i had an F in the class and came out with a B.
His english is horrible. He blames us for not being able to understand him. I told him "I am having trouble understanding what you are saying" he then said "thats because yall dont study before class so yall are blaming me". He said its our fault we cant understand him. Somehow I passed. Dont take his class unless you want to teach yourself.
The worst professor I've had thus far--would not recommend to ANYONE. Can't understand a word he says due to his thick accent. He contradicts himself a lot and grades tough. The tests are super hard. You basically have to teach yourself; it's pointless attending the classes. Very poor grammar as well. Doesn't give any opportunities to boost grades.
Great instructor. Long as you read his power point notes you'll pass his class. Strong accent but after a few classes you'll understand him in no time. If define fly take him again
Is his accent heavy? Yes. Is he difficult? No. I wish my only problem of speaking two languages was that I had a heavy accent! So over hearing that. If you read his PowerPoints before class, you absolutely understand the words he is saying. It's not difficult because he's to the point and thorough. Read his PowerPoints, guaranteed A.
Despite what most say, I find that he's an amazing teacher who is very specific. As long as you review his PowerPoints and book before class you'll understand him and the material more. The class has a lot of info, but you have to be willing to put in the work studying in order to succeed which is any class. Dedication is a must, you can't be lazy.
Anything you don't understand you can simply email him and he gets back immediately. His written English is impeccable and easy to understand through email. He's actually really fun if you pay attention, he makes low key jokes. I find myself chuckling a lot. PowerPoints have all the info you need plus study guides, easy A because he's so thorough
Best teacher for A&P 1 too bad he doesn't teach A&P 2
Very accurate and through on what's being taught and test material
Would take again if he taught A&P 2
You have to work for it, but I find that it helped me remember more that way. It's all important for the next step which is A&P 2 so understanding is a must for a successful future. Glad I took him
Would def take again
Very thorough would take him again
Wish he taught A&P 2! Gives a lot of information!
Would take again
Wish I could take him again
he gave us PowerPoint slides for notes, which was amazing to study on, but his English needs work. I could barely understand anything he said during his lectures and many students dropped the class because of it. I barely passed the class. I had to get my 10th grade biology to tutor me so I would fail.
he speaks english but so unclearly that it's so hard to focus on the material he's teaching because you're too busy focusing on trying to figure out what he's even saying!!! would NOT recommend this prof to anyone.... ever.....
Just took his summer class. He is very hard to understand but you eventually get used to it. He basically reads from the powerpoint slides but his tests are pretty easy if you follow his study guides. He does provide a lot of good study material. Study guides, chapter outlines, powerpoint slides, and recommended youtube videos.
Worse teacher I've had at Delgado so far. His english is very unclear and I spent more time trying to understand him. He does like when you ask too many questions and he read directly from the slides. He didn't stick to the schedule which causes us to run through 3 chapters in 1 day.
He is a great professor, and is also a doctor. While his accent is heavy, it is really not that bad. If you read the material before class there is no reason why you can't follow along. He goes out of his way to make sure know *exactly what is on the exam. He wants you to pass, but he wants you to learn it too. Ask questions, he will answer them.
He was a fair and caring teacher that was helpful and always there for you
Dr. Chowdhury is AWESOME. He does have a heavy accent which takes some getting used to, but he is a great teacher. He provides study guides for each test in addition to PowerPoint lectures and lecture outlines. He also gives extra credit for each test, any where from 6-8 points which is HUGE. I would definitely take him again.
He does have a strong accent, but it becomes easier to understand him as the class progresses. He provides study guides for each test and gives you the opportunity to get bonus points on every test, even the final. Come to class because he takes role. If he sees you trying, he will help. Getting a B or higher is very attainable.
One thing I liked about him is that he wants to see you pass, but he has a very strong accent so I would have to reread the power points (that's what he teaches off of) on my own. He is very nice and caring but I didn't really get a lot out of class because he would lecture off his head and I felt he made it more complex.
Dr. Chowdhury is a good professor he is caring and wants his students to do well in his class. I just finished taking his summer course and its not an easy class, but an A or a B is achievable. Read the lab manual before class and really pay attention to all the models he goes over. His physiology tests were fairly easy.
Lecture portion is straight from the texts so get ready to study hard on your own; he won't delve into the material, really no space for questions. Lots of extra credit available and he does want you to do well. Hard hard course, only 1/3 of my class was left by the end. He does have a strong accent that you will have to get used to, but you will.
I took him for A&P 1 and he was a really good professor. It was completely based on the textbook and his tests are the exact concepts discussed in the study guide. It's not an easy class so get ready to read, but a B or higher is definitely possible.
Worst class I have ever taken so far. I really studied hard, but the teacher is not helpful at all. There is no difference between taking it online or with him. I had to drop after first 2 tests. I could'nt understand a single word from him. If you want to pass you will have to study hard and rely on yourself. Not recommended.
i ended up having to drop this course because of how difficult it was. you cant understand what hes saying and when you ask him a question he doesnt answer it to where you can fully understand the concept. bad enough AP is hard but it was even more hard with him as the professor. test were extremely difficult, would not recommend to take him.
The tests are based on exactly whats in the book and powerpoints. He gives study guides for each test and 6 bonus points. Your grade is literally what you make on the tests. I think an A or B is definitely achievable in this class if you try, but its not an easy A
Run away, he is extremely difficult to understand, his test are not clear and as far as a study guide he tells you to read the book. The slides were terrible and as far as visuals, no powerpoints or pictures. Just a bunch of drawings on chalkboard in different color. Dont ask questions and he doesnt go over test. Quiz online were timed and hard.
I read online prior to class that he had a difficult accent to understand and this is an understatement. I spent most of the time in class reading the power points and textbook because I could not understand anything he was saying. Others in class also had the same issues and we would all be sitting there trying to figure out what he was saying.
ESL students be aware this class is not for you. Don't even think about it
it's a lot of material to take in. study the power points and you will do fine. returns emails quickly.
flashcards are the key to this course, no matter who you take. Dr. Chowdhury tries to explain, ask if you don't understand something. Copy every drawing on the board into your notebook, these are KEY CONCEPTS. always gave bonus on tests. online work and quizzes will help your grade!!
very heavy accent. power points and handouts are great. wants you to pass.
He has a thick accent but if you can get past that you'll be fine. His lectures are to the point but are long so be prepared or find a classmate to help you go over what happened in class. Learning body parts in the lab is like a big memory game so don't be too hard on yourself. Also, look over new chapters before he even goes over them.
It's hard to study PowerPoints before class when he doesn't post any. I'm taking him for lab but not lecture and he's so inconsistent with posting any material online. He'll post study tools for some exercises, a PowerPoint for another, and hardly ever communicates with us. If you get sick then uhhh too bad I guess. :)
I would not take this teacher for A&P. Although he gives many study tools. If you are a in class learner like I am, you will not be able to understand him. His accent is very thick and it is a lot of information to teach yourself. Teacher does not help you even when requesting help because his knowledge of the English language is so bad.
Dont take this professor. He is very sweet but I would not reccomend him to anyone else. Took him for the summer online due to covid and i dont know anyone who was passing. i made it by the skin of my teeth. material is hard to find and you never feel prepared for what is on the tests. He gave us many points but no one made A's on tests.
He was very nice and helpful. He does have a heavy accent but if he knows your trying he will be more understanding.
His accent was difficult but if it weren't for extra credit on top of extra credit (Literally) i wouldn't have passed his class. Extra credit saved me like falling and your parachute didn't open but you still landed on something soft and lived lol
Dr. Chowdhury will always look out for you as long as you do your part in the course.
Had him online in the summer and honestly I would have had a higher grade if I studied more. Has an accent but was no problem. Fast paced because it was held in the summer but he made sure to explain everything needed to pass. Provides power-points of the models you should study and tells you that all the models shown in class will be on the test.
Use Powerpoints and study guide then cross reference them with the textbook to study for the exams. They are very detailed so your studying should be very detailed. Set up meetings with Dr. Chowdhury to go over incorrect answers on exams, he will appreciate you for that. If you show him you are putting in the effort, he will reciprocate.
Professor Chowdhury is a very intelligent professor who clearly knows his material. However, I had difficulty understanding a lot of the information due to the accent. When I enabled CC it would put the wrong words on the screen as well. He has a very monotonous speak pattern which made staying tuned in difficult.
DO NOT take this professor. you will not understand him. I was so lost in class and he went through lecture so fast like we could understand what he's taking about. will NEVER take him again, he isn't good. He knows his stuff tho but class is super hard. gives no study guide even if you ask him multiple times for the test.
I was very nervous about his accent the first class but it got easier after a few classes. He makes sure that you understand him by writing a lot. He welcomes questions and is available outside of class and really wants everyone to pass. You MUST read the chapter before his lecture or you will be lost. Lots of extra credit and practice tools.
He might be okay for a regular semester but it was terrible during the summer semester.
Awesome professor! He gives great feedback and offers bonus. Has a VERY thick accent so you must pay attention to understand his lecture. Explains everything well and makes sure you are understanding the materials. If you can get Prof. Chowdhury, DO IT! He makes the already difficult class so much better!!
Mr. Chowdhury is a great professor! He cares and wants you to learn the material! He also give us bonus points to every test.
very grateful for mr chowdhury. good person to talk to. i would suggest him ONLY if you can really handle heavy amounts of material BY YOURSELF. 90% of my learning came from me teaching myself with his given material. if thats not you then dont take this. luckily he gives plenty of classworks and bonuses to make up for tests.
Dr. Chowdhury is awesome. His accent is heavy, but it will get better. A & P is a DIFFICULT class but if you attend class and study, you'll do fine. He gives bonuses to help boost your grade and extra points for attending Science events. Do the work, show interest, and complete your assignments on time, you'll pass. Took him for lab & lecture.
Prof. Chowdhury was an awesome professor! He offers tons of bonus opportunities and I couldn't have passed without them. He has a very thick accent, but you start to understand him if you pay close attention. He really cares about his students and makes the already difficult class easier. Would highly recommend!!
I loved professor Chowdhury! AP is a tough class no matter who you take but he really wants each of his students to succeed. He gives bonus points and even gave out bonus points for those that would show up to class. He is the sweetest man you won't regret taking his class!
His accent is strong and if your gut is telling you that you are doing badly drop the class don't listen to him and finish because you are setting yourself up for failure. Whatever you made that is what you got. Don't miss class because what he says is on the test. You will be teaching yourself. Read the whole chapter!!
I would not recommend to ANYONE EVER. He is truly impossible to understand, but he tests you on the information he says. If you want an A or even a B, do NOT take this class. I have never gotten such a bad grade on tests in my entire life. Also, his lectures run the entire 3 hours, so get ready to waste time not even understanding what he says.
A/P is a difficult subject all together. You should expect to listen to lecture and study. He provides study guides, yet focus on the power points. His accent is VERY thick and difficult to understand at times. The more you attend class, the more you will understand. Also, he gives TONS of bonus points.
A/P lab is a difficult subject all together. You should expect to listen to lecture and study. He provides study guides, yet focus on the power points. His accent is VERY thick and difficult to understand at times. The more you attend class, the more you will understand. Also, he gives TONS of bonus points.
Very difficult to understand in lectures, BUT gives amazing Power Point files to study from with all the major details you need to learn, and his lectures focus on a few of the bigger subjects. Genuinely a very nice guy and will repeat anything so you can understand. Gives GREAT bonus exams online after every major test, and a ton of bonus extras.
WORST CLASS EVER! Professor Chowdhary is very knowledgeable but is unable to convey that knowledge to his students. Thick accent extremely hard to understand. No Study Guides No Extra Credit. Purposely making the class and material difficult. NO ONE passed his first two tests. Told to "Study More Study Everything" when I went to him for assistance
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! HARDEST AND MOST UNCARING PROFESSOR EVER. Extremely heavy accent, no study guides, no extra credit .Asked for assistance told to "study everything and study more", had to drop because of low grade in both lecture and lab. No One Passed His First Test! I am a very good student this was an absolutely awful experience.
Good individual & cares for his students & if you stick it out youll see that he truly wants his students to succede. A&P is a hard class no matter what, his accent makes it harder. DONT recommend this class bc he cant explain good even though he tries. He gives bonus, & outline for study guides, test is broad in his lec & lab.
Heavy accent which can be discouraging at first but if you follow his powerpoint as he lectures it becomes very easy to understand. The BEST teacher I've had at Delgado. He really cares about his students and wants us all to succeed but you MUST do your part to read and study. He gives up to 6 bonus points for each test! HIGHLY recommend!!!
Dr Chowdhury was a great anatomy professor, there was a lot of information but he takes time to try to make sure everyone understands. He was always kind and willing to go over test questions missed.
