Didn't find it as hard others would say. College classes are not meant to be walks through parks. College classes, such as ECO2013, and other alike are meant to make one think and focus for a change. We even did a presentation and video that was simply awesome in our ECO2013 honors class.

The questions for the quizzes online must be answered and saved as you go, you can't go back like other online tests. Find another prof or take on campus.

DO not take 6 weeks virtual class unless you have time to read 3 chapters in one week & 3 tests. So if you happen to have a job wouldn't be ideal. Class was ok for me b/c i had the time for it. Got an A.

Excellent professor; I took her course at MDC's North campus a couple semesters ago; I passed with a B+. I had no book; I pretty much study my notes. Nonetheless, how could you guys say she's a bad professor? In fact, I've enrolled in her virt Eco2023 course this 08 spring. Her assignments may be a bit demanding but we're in college for God sake.
If you're a business major, her class is the way to go. She will prepare you and challenge you as well. Any one can pass the class with an A as long as you put in the time and effort to study. You will leave the class a smarter person. Thanks to her I was able to win 4th place in Economic Concepts in the state of Florida (Go Phi Beta Lambda!).
Good professor that makes you work for your grade if you want to learn about economy then she is the one. Very helpful and cares about every one grade
Excellent professor in every way. She explains until you are satisfied with the answer. She is willing to go the extra mile to help students inside the class and outside. Anyone complaining about her teaching is because they believe that grades are free. Recommend 200%.
Her class includes a lot of work but she does her job. You actually learn in her class and that?s why she is an excellent professor. She curved our exam grades for the summer semester. Her exams aren?t so hard because students did manage to get A?s without the curve (Shes very nice). She is the best Economics teacher at North Campus.

Talk about a Type A personality to the extreme. This crazy woman gave tons of homework the first day and a test the second week school started. She grades unfairly on the tests you have to read a lot memorise and work as if you are takingg a 12 credit class all for her. I wonder how many ppl r gonna drop this class?
You have to pay like $30 for an Applia programm that she uses like 24/7 which I think she's the only one who charges a lot compared to other ECO teachers @ the virtual college. She's a good teacher BUT she thinks that this a 12 crdit class because of ALL the ton of HW she gives daily and silly things that a person taking enough credit can cope it.
The teacher seems a nice person, but she doesn't help you at all. It seems that she likes you to spend $30 on the APLIA program which MOST of the economics teachers don't use it because the book is pretty self explanatory and even sometimes confusing. I agree with the comment before. Dissapointed with teacher.

If you are a full time student DON'T take her cuz she's gonna make you nuts with the APLIA $30 program and her silly classes. She seemed good in person but as a teacher NO comments.
She does not responnd to any of your emails if you take virtual classes. She does not give you revies for exams, tells you to study the learning objectives which only covers a small portion of the exmas. A homework and a quiz due on the same day, too much work for a virtual class. I dont think she realizes the reason behind people taking itonline.
She thinks that she is the best. Guess again. The aplia is $35 but it helps with the exams. The pain is a group presentation assigned the first day of class which must be presented as early as two weeks if you are the first group. The presentation is a chapter from the book,you are teaching the class and she adds her opinion. Doesnt grade fairly
The group project is a pain. However, she is fair proffessor. She curves everything. I had an F at midterm but by Finals, I came out of her class with a B. She gives ample amount of extra credit. Easy pass.
I definetly recommend her for economics. She speaks with clarity and actually knows her stuff. There may be a good amount of homework, though she gives lots of extra credit to "up" your grade and it totally helps you for tests. She is always maintains a positive attitude and is always there to help each student. I had her for both Micro and Macro!!
She's not a bad teacher at all! Most of the people here who are giving bad scores probably thought they could get away with being lazy. All you have to do is study and read the material and you'll be fine. She curves tests to the person with the highest score, and she gives extra credit. She may talk too much though, so drink dayquil!!!
Shes tough, but shes not the worst either. You just have to be willing to study and actually read the chapters do the homework and then your good. You can actually learn from her...or from the book that is...lol
I personally did not like her teaching method AT ALL. Only taught 3 times in the semester. The rest of the time the students taught a chapter each. She took forever to grade assignments. Very stressfull class:( But from the 3 times that she did teach, she does know what she is talking about. If she taught more often I would recommend her...

I thought she was a great teacher. If you can't learn from her, I don't know who you could learn from. she explains everything perfectly and if you need help she'll help you. She also gives you three tries to do each test and they're online. A lot of extra credit assignments plus she curves all her grades. i would highly recommend her.

Taking Micro from this prof was the biggest mistake I have ever made!She will not accept emails,will not respond to questions on her "discussion board for questions",and then will deduct points for incorretly completing the assignment.In the "real world" people get fired for performing so poorly at their jobs. This prof is lucky she has seniority.
I took this class online and I have taken many classes online before, but this is the most unprofessional professor I have ever had! She disappeared from our discussion board for weeks and we had a major project to turn in! She did not clarify our doubts and then discounted major points from the project grade! I could not believe it!
Taking a class from this professor will almost surely ruin your GPA. The class itself is hard, but this professor makes it worse. She does not like to answer questions. In fact, she ignored my whole classes questions for over a month! She is unhappy with her profession and should probably find a new one.

BUT she is a very good teacher..... you spend most of the class being taugh by your classmates but when she teachs she gives very good examples... she also speaks over the students that are teaching to make things clear. there are about 6 tests but most are 1 chapter tests and a couple of 2-3 chapter tests. recomanded

Mrs. Corrales is a good teacher. Her test are not that difficult, and she lets you use notecards. Without studying I got a B in this class. She also says that she counts attendance but she really doesn't. Just study if you want an A. She is really nice and talks about Gilligans Island a lot. She is definitely the best macro teacher at mdc.

She is extremely hard, and when it comes to ask for help she avoids to help students and constanstly telling students that they need to drop her class. Exams has nothing to do with the text book and you ask a question her answer is "you're supposed to know that". She gives 50 plus EC questions in 45 minutes not enough to work on her exams.
I'm still baffled as to how I passed her class with a C. The final was all graphs and some of the questions looked like Greek to me. The Aplia assignments were MUCH easier than the actual class was, and for to say drop her class was a bit off putting. I toughed it out, but I was certain I would have to retake it.
I thought she lectured pretty well, but her lectures didnt help much when it came to the test and aplia homework. The aplia homework was pretty demanding and long, and it didnt help that it had such strict deadlines. Her tests were pretty hard, but I managed to get a B. SHE NEVER RESPONDS EMAILS by the way.
She doesn't know what's the real meaning of the word teaching. She goes over the material too fast, like a robot, making Micro harder than it is. Never answer any email and sends you with the tutors if you ask for help. Difficult tests and tedious homework in Aplia.

You can be sitting at an A in her class and the midterm + final will mess u up since she uses publishers test bank which has nothing to do with your textbook. I took her Micro class and I loved it! I feel like she made the class pretty interesting and she ALWAYS made it clear what to put on the index card you can use for her test! As long as you did her Aplia homework, you will do fine and all the answers are in the book! If you understand the Aplia HW, you will pass the class with flying colors!

I must say that this is the worst class I've ever taken. I'm barely passing due to the fact that I'm teaching myself. There is absolutely no backtracking on her quizzes or exams, meaning you can't go back and review your answers before submitting. Also her exams are from the publisher's test bank that has nothing to do w/anything. ZERO rating!!!
I took this class online and I had to drop(horrible experience with this professor). First of all, her grading style is by average, not by the highest grade. So in other words, if you failed one question the first time, and then pass the second time, you are gonna get 50 out of 100, instead of having just the highest grade. Don't take her class!!!!
I loved her! She may have a strong personality at times, but she's really genuine. Take notes during her lectures, read the book, and you're set for the exams. If you are interested in talking to her after class, then you can definitely do that because she's more than willing to help students with any doubts they may have.
Do not take this teacher. I received an F because it was too late to drop. After I took my own picture for the Gordon rule paper, she told me it was a fake pic and gave me an F on the paper. Exams do not correlate with the material. Too much homework.

There are those who were called to teach, and others who do it for a paycheck, unfortunately this professor is doing more harm then teaching for a paycheck. By far the worse experience first hand with a online class. No help, no assistance, no effort to reach out, the most stressed out semester ever taken. Please do students a favor, stop teaching.

I recommend Professor Corrales to anyone who is serious about their school work. She's super nice and funny and makes sure you understand the material. She is upfront and to the point, if you're looking for a class to slack off in, you won't do well. I loved her and her class. PLUS she gives extra credit!
She makes it harder than it has to be. Your HW is graded on every attempt like if it was a test, You must know the answer instead of giving you the opportunity to look for the answer and learn. She provides no feedback on the grades she gives, so you never know how to improve. Her response to every question is look at the Syllabus.
She makes this class extremely difficult. Homework is really a challenge, every little error is against you. It is a very stressful class. She does not want to give a study guide for midterm or final test, bottom line she doesn't care. This is my second semester taking online classes, and so far this class has been the worst.

Professor Corrales is strict with attendance,show up to her classes. Teaching wise I think that she is an AMAZING teacher. People who have been complaining about her took her online, so idk there. She's straightfoward of what's going to be on her 5 tests (no midterm/final), she curves tests, and she's fair. Study hard or don't take this class.
For her online class, don't expect a response from her. As far as assignments, there were ERRORS IN THE QUIZZES. I would expect my professors to have the correct answers; those questions should not have counted against us. She only gave points to the students who noticed and emailed her about the discrepancy. Midterm and final are impossible.

I do not recommend this professor to anyone who does understand economics. She takes a long time to respond to emails and does not seem to care if the students pass or not. I got an F in her class. I took it over the next semester with another professor and got a "B". This that says enough.
Professor Corrales was amazing in the semester I spent with her. If you follow her instructions and pay attention to the lectures, the course is a breeze. She knows what she is talking about, so read up if you want to engage in any class discussions. I took great interest in the class due to her lectures. Don't hesitate in choosing her classes!
This professor is the worst! I took it online, but had the chance to meet her personally in another setting. She is arrogant, unprofessional and unresponsive to students. I am not really sure why she went into this profession - she does not represent the MDC culture of serving students first - she is more interested in her own ego.

Won't say she is the hardest professor I've taken, but definitely not the easiest. I would go to class and take all the notes- I felt as if it didn't matter that I'll follow all protocal, I would still not be happy with the way the classes and assignments were set up. If you're willing to give all your time to this class, by all means, take her.
This professor was the most thorough in laying out the grading criteria I have ever experienced. She was also very structured in her creating of categorized threads for specific questions (ie. Homework, Quizzes, Midterm, Discussions). The material itself is not the easiest but she presents it in a way that it is easy to study.

I dont know why people have a problem with professor corrales the hardest thing about her class was the first test but after that the class is a breeze if you pay attention and just review your notes honestly if you dont pass this class you are not college ready
She is someone who makes it absolutely difficult to pass her class. Absolutely stay away from her.
Very educated and knowledgeable when it comes to Economics. However, extremely unorthodox when its comes to lectures and exams. This is an APPLIED ALGEBRA course, so brush up on your math. Forget about multiple choice or key terms; it's about drawing graphs, plotting points, and formulas. Take notes on the algebraic parts, that's all I can say.
Guys do not take Macroeconomics online, this class is extremely hard.
Professor Corrales is a great teacher honestly but her grading is terrible. You miss one little thing on the quiz like a decimal and it's automatically marked wrong, not even half a credit for trying at least. Make sure to take notes and attend her class if you plan on taking her. Expect 4 exams with no multiple choice.
I regret the day I picked this lady. She has no manners, does not know how to teach, she is rude, I had to filed a complaint about her because of her attitude in class.

Professor Corrales is a very hard professor. Her exams are exam format, and she grades them to the extreme. She also tends to go very fast. She can be helpful at times if you see her personally during office hours, but in all, don't take this class unless you're sufficient in Algebra and you know how to study.
If you take this course during summer term be prepared to take 2 exams covering 15 chapters each. It wasn't an easy course and she doesn't offer extra credit to raise your grade.
She grades very, very and very harsh. No multiple choice, so know how to solve problems and interpret graphs. I study a lot, but I got a C because she takes off points for any little thing. You mess up a problem at the beginning, so the rest of it is messed up too, and you get ZERO. She's good, but take another prof For your grade to not suffer.
She is a great professor. Took summer B, it is very easy, she explains everything very well, there are 2 exams and no surprises there just what was covered before. Exams only have problems, you must be good at math (MAT1033 at least) and she is clear about it from the day 1. I just wish there was more theory plus to problems in this class.
I took Ana Corrales for Microeconomics in Spring 2017 and I am glad I did. She is a tough grader but her lectures and review before the test is exactly what the test will be about. You don't even have to read the book just pay attention to the lectures and attend the review and you will A's the test. If you need help go to her office hours!
Took this class during fall 2017. Ended the class with a C. It was very difficult to pass. Half of the class failed. Her class is exam format meaning no multiple choice and questions meant to trick you. Sometimes she includes things that arent even on the test. Dont take her. If you do youll make your life a lot more difficult.
worst professor ever she doesn't answer your email neither intends to help if you're struggling on her class, her exams are worth everything if you fail them you will fail the class for sure. Don't take her you will regret it.
Many people don't like her... I didn't have many problems, I study well for this class and get a C, half of the class dropped, but I know that if I would have studied harder, I could get a B.

If you take this class online, DO ALL OF THE HOMEWORK ON TIME! the homeworks weighs more on your overall grade in the course. you can pass this online course as long as you do all the required assisgments (Homework, Quizzes, Writting assignments (4) and midterm and final. ).
Corrales teaches well and is clear in terms of what she expects. Homework accounts for a large chunk of the grade, so be sure to do it from the start. She reviews for exams the class before--the tests are almost identical to the reviews. If you need help, she's available during office hours. No complaints here.
I am taking this class online. It is a very challenging course. You must know algebra 1033. There is a proctored midterm AND final exam each worth 20% of your grade. The midterm was only 25 questions which makes it hard to get a good grade. No extra credit. drops 2 out of 14 quizes. 3 papers which are graded by a AI program. tough class & teacher.
One of the most disrespectful teachers I've had, I truly believe she needs to see a therapist. Lectures are exactly what's on the exam, if you passed algebra 1 you'll be ok. She will give you an F for a carried over mistake though. Extremely homework intensive which counts A LOT. Not worth dealing with doesn't care about students in the least

I'm very grateful with Professor Corrales, she was very kind and helpful. She gave us extra credit for the final which help me a lot to recover from the midterm. This is not an easy class, so take your time and prepare yourself to read a lot and maybe 3 times to have the basic concepts clear. Do the homework on time! This would help a lot!

This professor doesnt allow students to have a group chat, doesnt care about her students, doesnt teach AT ALLLLLLLLLL!!!! You learn everything by yourself. Doesnt even bother to put together a study guide for the midterms and final that are both proctored and worth a combined total of 30 percent of your grade. There is a TON of homework
I cannot stress this enough but take another teacher. This has been such a horrible experience for me, she is rude in her emails and it's not flexible for no one or anything. I know college is supposed to teach you lessons but this teacher is just straight-up awful. You will honestly waste your time by taking this course with this teacher.
Get ready to teach yourself for this one. Only one homework a week (but if you don't write an insane amount she WILL say you didn't elaborate enough) and participation was worth 30% of the final grade so don't take this if you don't like talking. Extremely tough grader. Overall, not a good experience. I recommend you choose another professor.
Corrales was my favorite professor; I truly looked forward to class. I learned & heard so many peoples point of views on interesting topics, I improved my communication skills. She's very open-minded & intelligent in economics; she explains everything in a way everyone can understand. Class size is small, helped me participate in more discussions.
Her class consists of weekly homework assignments, as well as a few writing assignments (graded by an automated system). She does offer multiple extra credit opportunities (some require attending virtual meetings which can be difficult if you work a day shift job), however reaching her through email can be difficult at times.
Professor Corrales is a horrible prof. She is is a tough grader and when you text her through blackboard or email her she'll never answer. Also if you're taking her online class she won't let her student to do a group chat because she says that that's cheating. I wouldn't recommend her, run from her.

Professor is very respectful, nice, wants you to pass her class, provides extra credit. Just make sure you read your textbook, and you do not procrastinate on your HW. There is a mid-term and a final so make sure to study but if you do all your HW with a good grade, you will pass no matter what.
I should had received the good grades I put my work, time into, gave me bad grades. I would email to ask for help would not care.
Honestly, she was really okay, Prof. As long as you do the homework and show up to class, you'll do fine. She is just annoying and will fail/drop you if you dont show up to class and dont do the work.
Professor Corrales can be demanding, but engage with her teaching style and you'll do well. The textbook is essential, and unstuck AI was a lifesaver for exam prep. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.
Professor Corrales is probably the best professor I have had at MDC. I struggled a bit with the macro eco that I took the semester before, but because of Corrales, I have gotten much better results. I learn a lot from her classes, she makes sure everyone understands and explains everything well.
Her class was very different from other classes I've taken. No exams, she will grade based on assignments, Bloomberg certification, activities and participation. It was very easy to understand the lectures. Loves to do in class Kahoot for extra credit. And there's a worksheet every class . Would definitely take her class again!
Terrible professor. Lectures were useless—she just read off slides with no real explanation. Gave way too much homework, more than necessary. Zero empathy for absences, even with valid reasons. Unapproachable and dismissive. If you can, take a different professor. Avoid this class!
She is by far the worst professor I have ever encountered. No respect for students, no manners, no presentable way of speaking with her students, for some reason students are always either complaining about her or arguing with her. Other than her patronizing behavior her way of teaching is awful,doesn't teach anything. just makes you watch videos.
This professor loves hating her students, unless they are brown nosers. She uses Clifford YouTube videos to teach you instead of doing it herself. Pop quizzes every class, time consuming projects. She is condescending and passive aggressive. This professor treats her students like a mother that never loved her children and is now forced to care.
This professor enjoys making your life hard. She is extremely unapproachable & I have seen her scream at students for being late. The work is extremely excessive & she has no grace to work with you. If you're late just twice she will purge students. Worst class I've taken so far at MDC. Never met someone more passive aggressive, good luck.
I genuinely wish I had read the previous reviews of this professor before I took this class. It is evident that she does not care about any of her students grades nor their feelings. If the majority of the class fails an exam, she will waste an entire class ranting on how it was their fault. Please choose Michael Sealy instead he is a real teacher.
Honestly a good professor, I took Macro online and it was good as long as you do every homework and study for midterm and finals you'll end with an A. The homework is hard tho but good class overall.
Save yourself & don't take her class. She's the worst professor at Mdc and loves making people's lives hard. If you miss any assignments she counts it for attendance and finds any excuse to drop students. Extremely passive aggressive and sometimes picks arguments with students for her satisfaction.
Ana Corrales is the most unethical and rude professor. She is always making a problem out of nothing with her students & makes passing the class almost impossible. She counts missed assignments as missing attendance. ONLY uses paper for all homework and exams, avoid at all costs !
