Dr.V is an awesome professor, she is a true expert on microbiology. She knows what she is talking about, she makes the hard class easy to understand and fun to learn. If you want to learn and have a good grades at the same time, I highly recommended to take her class. Dr.V is the one of few best teacher I have ever had!

I was really scared going into the class, hearing from everyone it was super hard. But thankfully Dr.V made it really fun and interesting. The material is dry but she makes it fun and she will make you laugh at least once per class period. If you want to pass shes your professor for microbiology :D

Dr. V is one of the best professors I have ever had. She makes a difficult class easy to understand and loves answering questions. Her reviews are very helpful for the exam! Study her power points and answer the review questions. She hardly uses the book so lectures and power points are key to passing the class. She is just amazing!

Dr V is the most helpful teacher I have ever had. This class is hard but she is more than willing to help you make it through. She is very funny and makes the class enjoyable. I would highly recommend her, she really knows her stuff!!

Dr. V was an amazing professor. She was on top of emails, and our lessons. She made every effort to help understand material. Her tests were challenging, but if you ask questions she will help.

LOVED this class. I would not call it an easy A because I had to work hard for it, but even with test grades that were low A's/high B's, I had no troubles getting a high A for my overall grade. She is very entertaining and very smart and wants to see her students succeed if they are willing to put in the work.

I really enjoyed this class. Dr. V did so much to make the material interesting and relatable. Her lectures are great. She has so much experience and expertise to share. Dr. V is also willing to go out of her way to help anyone understand the material.

I dreaded taking this class, but Dr. V made me love it. She's one of the best profs I've ever had. She uses interesting visuals, humor, and stories from her own experience in the field to make her class fun. She knows the material and how to explain it well. She's willing to offer help if you need it.

Do not take this class with anyone other than Dr. V! Awesome teacher. Tests are a bit challenging but she gives you a week to take them! She pretty much gives you what will be on them, so study. Go to class, do extra credit, get an A!!! Highly recommended! If you take this class with anyone else, you are a fool.

I am half way, I so far love this professor, she is silly and interesting to the topics covered. Very driven in her field. Accent is a little heavy. But generally one of the best professors I've had- very structured so no surprises in the schedule. You know whats coming to you since Day 1. Generous with extra credit too, what more could you want?:)

Dr V made Microbiology very interesting. Lecture was very clear and always had review class before exams. Very helpful in lab and she would answer all your questions. I enjoyed her class and highly recommend Dr V

I am going to be honest THIS CLASS WAS HARD. However, Dr. V is very passionate about teaching and makes class very enjoyable. She is awesome in office hours and willing to help in any way. Tests are tough but extra credit and lab gets you to an A. TAKE HER. One of the most enjoyable science classes I have taken.

I found Dr. Valle-Rivera's class to be really interesting. She's very passionate about the world of microbes and her lectures are entertaining which is very helpful with understanding the material. I loved her class and highly recommend it

Dr. V is a really great professor. She really cares about her students, but expects them to work for their grade. I had a tough semester and lost my father a month before class was out. She was very kind and helpful in getting me through the rest of class. She is a brilliant instructor and I would take her again in a heart beat.

Amazing teacher!! I love it when teachers give you options to do better in your class by giving at least SOME extra credit. She does this occasionally but it definitely helps bump up your grade. Very interesting and funny. Loves what she does and is there to help her students out. Not an easy ride but at least you know your not doomed in her class.

Her lectures are very clear, and if you need help she takes the time to explain. Tests are based 90% off of the lectures, and have portions where you must APPLY what you learned to situations and be able to explain it (short answer/essay). Labs are straight forward, and lab practicals are based off of experiments in lab. Gives extra credit!!!

She is great! Take her. She answer your questions and she is available on office hours. Just go to the class, read the book and do all extra credit. You should get A

Dr. V is a great professor. Her only flaw is that she sometimes posts quizzes, pre-labs a day before they are due, but they're not hard. She gives lots of extra credit!!! Gives easy in class assignments that you work on in groups, and it's easy points! Labs & lab tests are easy. Lecture tests are multiple choice, T/F, short answer, labeling.

She is a great instructor and really passionate about the subject matter and her students! She makes the subject matter interesting and entertaining which makes it much easier to learn!

Dr.V is such a genius professor. Lets you ask questions in lecture and will answer them in terms that don't make you feel dumb. Take advantage of the extra credits opportunities and the optional comprehensive exam at the end of the semester. Microbiology has been a very tough subject for me but I will say that Dr.V keeps the lectures relevant.

Dr. V was hands down one of the best professors I've had. She gives many opportunities for extra credit and her lectures are very interesting. She is hilarious and caring! She also is extremely helpful. Tests are not difficult and she gives an optional comprehensive final to replace a low test grade.

I loved Dr. V! She really wanted all of her students to do well. She gave A LOT of extra credit opportunities and always made it easier for me to understand difficult content. Sometimes she takes a while to respond to e-mails but she is a very caring professor. Would take her again if I could!

Dr. V is amazing! I did not pass one test but since I did all of the extra credit and quizzes, I was able to pass. Lab attendance is crucial. If you make all the labs you end up getting extra credit points as well. Our last class, she brought us goodies and Starbucks coffee! Her tests are tough but she gives you lots to review.

Dr. V is beyond helpful with everything , yea her test are hard but it a college science class y'all and she makes learning all that boring stuff so interesting. Ive always been bad at science classes but her "key points" review that she has on black board is easy to follow and if you actually work on it and go over it you will do good on the test

Microbiology itself isn't my favorite subject but Dr. V still managed to make it interesting. She so obviously cares about her students and wants them to do well.

Dr. V is brilliant. I took her for 2420. Her lectures are amazing. You can print slides to follow. She explains things in a way I understand. Tests are tough, but not unusually so. It's just a lot of material to learn. Pay attention. She will hint if it's on the test. Loved lab. I wish she taught 1406. I look forward to taking 1407 with her.

Micro is not meant to be an easy class. Dr. V made the material relate-able and gave you plenty of resources to study from. If you show up for class, complete all the quizes, labs, homework, in class activity, and extra credit you will pass this class. Shes fun and sassy. I know she was very understanding of life situations for some of my classmate

Dr. V is brilliant! She has a wealth of knowledge and enjoys interacting during lecture. The lecture's were from her power points, but she adds important details and sometimes extra credit, so class attendance is important!! Study, use the ACC microbugz website, read lab assignments and do the work, you will be successful!

She is very amazing and super helpful! She gives out extra credit and also has test reviews. Dr.V is extremely smart and you can tell she enjoys what she teaches. Her lectures are easy to follow and her powerpoints can be very helpful.

I loved being in her class, the professor is extremely educational, helpful, and she goes out of her way to help you be successful in the class. I had a really great time with her. I am not doing too good in this course because of how intensive the material is. I am extremely glad that Dr.V breaks things down into easier subtopics. Great Professor!

Tough grader! Only her answer is correct with 4-8 open ended questions that are worth half the exam. About 10 multiple choice and 10 matching and a few T/F questions. Made a B because of the amount of extra credit there is so it significantly boosted my overall grade.

She is one of the better biol 1407 professors to take than the other ones, she gives you a lot of extra credit and easy prelab and postlab hw online to help your grade. Though her tests and lab practicals are okay, I would recommend focusing on studying the review for the tests and lab assignments for lab practicals. Her lectures don't really help.

Dr. V is super knowledgeable and her lectures are interesting and engaging. Tests and practicals are very hard, but she offers a lot of homework, prelab/prelecture tests, and extra credit. It's possible to get an A but you have to work for it.

Dr. V's class was great! I learned so much and it really was not that difficult as long as you put the effort in. 5 exams and an optional final. The 5th exam was really hard but if you do well on the other 4, it won't matter. She's helpful during lab and is hilarious and a very interesting person. Gives a TON of extra credit to help students out

She gives you so many chances to make a good grade with all the quizzes and homework you have. Her accent can be a bit much for some students so if that bothers you take another class. If you get behind that is completely on you because she will remind you every week what is due through email and Blackboard.

Killer Teacher. One of the best I have had the opportunity to learn from during my time at ACC. Dr. V understands that we are all human beings and is willing to work with you no matter the circumstances. By showing effort and going to office hours you are setting yourself up for success in her class. Respect her time and she will respect yours.

Dr. V is an excellent teacher. She answers any and all questions she can and provides you with a safe space to learn. Her only downside is in order to pass the tests and do well on homework, you must put in extensive study time outside of class. If you have trouble understanding what people say, her accent might make this class difficult for you.

She speaks to everyone with respect as long as you respect her. She is very nice and caring when it comes to learning. If you show interest in doing the labs correctly and ask questions she is very helpful. Just being engaged in her class can help a lot. I really appreciate her drive to help us as students when we need it.

I liked Dr. V a lot. The class was definitely a little bit challenging, but if you show up and put in the work you'll do just fine. Make sure to take advantage of her office hours, I did that a lot and it helped me understand the material better and pass the class.

Exams were difficult but the study guides provided were some of the most helpful and thorough I've come across. I'd recommend the class.
